What were you trying to achieve in your main
production?
Our movie
Main Product
In our main production, we aimed make our production look as professional looking as
possible. Alongside that we aimed to produce a convention crime-thriller film set in an urban
but local setting. The primary purpose of our production was to entertain out audience by
providing an intense, exciting experience.
Film Poster
Film Poster
• I think our poster really sets a good promotion for our film. It gives
clear indentation of the genre and audience can see the critics
opinion.
• It shows the setting of the film and I think this stencilled two colour
effect Jack used emphasises how gritty the settings is.
• By including the critics opinions audience can see how good it is. This
tool is commonly used by independent films. This makes our poster
somewhat conventional of an independent film poster.
Radio Trailer
OUR RADIO TRAILER
We tried to get loads of information
into the trailer about the movie. We
also tried to have some found effects
from the actual movie to give
audience something to relate to and
make their own mind up.
We tried to make the movie appeal to
as much audience as possible.
We tried as much as we could to ensure our
promotional materials help to give an audience
some expectations of what they can expect to see if
they watch our film. They know it’s a crime film and
they know it’s a fast-edited film from the sound
effects.
Lastly we didn’t want to reveal any
spoilers in our radio trailer. We
wanted this trailer to be conventional
radio trailer and we did this by having
typical male voiceover and sound
track from movie playing.
How does our ancillary texts compare
with real advertising products?
• I think our poster works really well in promotion of our film to
targeted audience.
• I really don’t think it would look out of place in line of professional
advertisements.
• It is similar to film posters used by professional film makers.
• I think our radio trailer is conventional as we used deep traditional
trailer voiceover and used some effects from the movie.
