I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
1. use pictures as clues in completing the lyrics of the
song, Imagine, by John Lennon;
2. convey the message of the song;
3. perform various tasks like drawing, slogan making, poster
making, song composition and essay writing as
expressions of their appreciation to the song;
4. create rubrics to evaluate outputs;
5. evaluate outputs objectively.

II. PROCEDURE
A. Daily Routine

B. Motivation/Presenting the new
lesson
Task 1: Listen and Imagine
Are you a dreamer? Do you keep your dreams
only for yourself? Or do you share your dreams with
others?
Task 2: (Picture of John Lennon will be shown to the
students.)
Are you familiar with him and what do they know
about him?
Using the PowerPoint, the information about him will also be presented.
C. Lesson Proper:
Task 3: (The teacher distributes to the students copies of the
song with incomplete lyrics.)
As the song is played, you will write the missing
lyrics. Use the pictures displayed on screen as clues in filling
out the missing lyrics.

In three minutes, you should be able to come up with your own
rubrics which you will use in evaluating the task of another group.
 Group 1 will prepare rubrics for poster making
 Group 2 will prepare rubrics for drawing
 Group 3 will prepare rubrics for slogan making
 Group 4 will prepare rubrics for persuasive essay writing
 Group 5 will prepare rubrics for song presentation
Group differentiated tasks
Group 1: Illustrate through drawing Lennon’s vision of peace.
Group 2: Make a poster about your own vision of peace.
(What kind of world will it be if we all live in peace?)
Group 3: Write a persuasive essay about the importance of
maintaining peace in the land.
Group 4: Write a slogan about peace.
Group 5: Compose a song which theme is about peace.
IV. Evaluation
 Using the rubrics you prepared earlier, evaluate the
presentation of the group assigned to you. (Each group
presents its output.)
V. Assignment
 In order for you to understand better
the songs of John Lennon, research
about his life and then answer the
question below?
What do the songs of Lennon tell
about him? ( short bond paper)
VI. REFLECTION
 I will give each one a post-it note. You should be able to write
your insight/s about the lesson that we have just discussed. After
2 minutes, you should be able to post your work on the cartolina.
 (This is how the cartolina will look like.)

(What kind of world will it be if we all live in peace?) Group 3: Write a persuasive essay about the importance of maintaining peace in the land. Group 4: Write a slogan about peace. Group 5: Compose a song which theme is about peace.
