Tara Compare And Contrast
A deeper understanding can be gained by comparing the similarities and differences between
different artworks of a similar era and/or similar subjects. By bringing artworks together and
comparing them side by side it is easier to see what the artwork is trying to convey. There are many
different pieces of art that depict the Goddess Tara. By having an exhibition that contains the
Goddess Tara in her green manifestation, Tara, and Yellow Tara a viewer would be able to easily
compare the three art works. Although no two are alike, there are key similarities and differences
that can be seen throughout the different time periods and regions that the artwork came out of. The
grouping of these three artworks would help the viewer see the similarities and differences in pose,
medium, facial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She is the most important goddess in Buddhism. She is also seen as a savior and female counterpart
of the Bodhisattva. Her worship reflects the combination of ancient, mother–goddess cults and
Buddhism. She can be depicted and defined by many different visual aspects. One of the ways the
Goddess Tara changes depending on what depiction you view is what color her skin is. The color of
Tara usually gives an indication to her mood. She is also seen depicted with different surroundings
in one aspect she is surrounded by the Goddess of Dawn and the Protector against evil while in
another depiction she might stand alone. These interpretations are representative on the art from that
region and time period. Although she might have changing surroundings, as you can see by the three
different artworks, Tara is usually placed seated on a pedestal in a very specific pose with her one
leg crossed, she is usually wearing a crown and jewelry. These are all good indicators that we are
viewing the Goddess Tara. When different representations of her are brought together, it makes the
view see the difference in techniques that have been used to represent

The Fifth Avenue Art Gallery
The Fifth Avenue Art Gallery is a premiere gallery located in Brevard Country and has operated
since 1974. I visited this gallery on September 16th and liked that this gallery is open to the public
and has free admission. The Fifth Avenue Art Gallery contains wonderful art that are all originals.
These visual arts come in a variety of forms like painting, sculptures, crafts, and jewelry. The Fifth
Avenue Art Gallery has a wide variety of art too from many different artists and a beautiful
collection of many different pieces. I selected the Fifth Avenue Art Gallery because I was curious to
see how other people viewed Florida through their art. Two artists in particular caught my attention,
Bill McCoy and Nancy Hamlin–Vogler. Bill McCoy is a traditional oil painter that creates paintings
that reflect Florida's lifestyle and nature. His paintings are semi–realistic and capture the beauty of
Florida. Bill McCoy was the president of The Artists Guild of Brevard and The Strawbridge Art
League (website). Nancy Hamlin–Vogler is an artist of many talents and creates art of many
different mediums like acrylic, charcoal, and mixed media. Her artwork is sporadic and spontaneous
that ignites deep thought and emotion. She is an award winning artist and is a member of the St.
Augustine Art Association (website). I walked around the whole gallery and look at all the different
art, some art was really cool and others weren't so much. I focused my attention on these two artists
because they

Conformity Is The Most Prized Virtue
"Society," Emerson wrote in his timeless treatise on self–reliance and what it really means to be a
nonconformist, "is a joint–stock company, in which the members agree, for the better securing of his
bread to each shareholder, to surrender the liberty and culture of the eater." In such a groupthink
society, Emerson cautioned, conformity is the most prized virtue, but whoever wishes to be a true
person "must be a nonconformist." "Life would be dull indeed without experimenters and
courageous breakers–with–tradition," wrote Marie Bullock, the courageous founder of the Academy
of American Poets, a century later when she rose to defend E.E. Cummings from his detractors in
1951 – detractors who had attacked the Academy for awarding him their ... Show more content on

Shahn illustrates the value of nonconformity as a catalyst of cultural evolution with the story of the
tumult that took place in France when officials proposed that one of the pavilions of the prestigious
1925 Paris Exhibition be set up in the space belonging to the Society of Independent Artists – the
collective of nonconformists whose annual exhibitions had been setting the tone for modern art
since their formation in 1884. It was suggested that these innovators had done their job and there
was no further need for their tradition–upending sensibility, so they should relinquish their space to
the traditional art establishment. benshahn_nonconformist4 An art critic appalled by the backward
proposition responded with twenty–five reasons why the Independents should keep their space and
hold their annual exhibition. The reasons he listed were only names – the names of the most recent
winners of the Prix de Rome, the venerated French art award that had been conferred upon
promising talents in traditional art since 1663. All but one of those names were by then completely
unknown. The critic juxtaposed those with the names of twenty–five artists who had presented at the
Independents' exhibition – artists who, as Shahn points out, "could not by any stretch of the
imagination have won such an award [as the Prix de Rome]." Among those were

The Importance Of Art
Art is all around us, it's everywhere you go: cartoons, buildings, photography, even the architecture
of streets and sidewalks. There are many forms of art, and it doesn't have to be just drawing or
painting, it can also be singing, acting, poetry, fashion, etc. All of these talents are an embodiment of
expression, it allows individuals to explore their creativity and enhances their learning abilities.
Without art everything would be black and white, there would be no substance. In today's age, not
many people notice or appreciate any type of artwork. As an artist and an actress, creativity has
always been my strong suit. When I'm on stage or drawing it's like I'm telling a story. People take art
for granted, it's very disappointing how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Individuals who experience trauma or loss had an impact on their artistic thinking, for example,
Frida Kahlo. John Lennon. Paul McCartney. Truman Capote. Robin Williams. Jerry Garcia, some of
the most revered creative minds in modern history have experienced major trauma. Psychologists
call this phenomenon "post–traumatic growth." When an individual experiences a major loss, the
brain explores its own creative escape as part of "rebuilding" themselves, especially as our
perspectives, priorities, and ways of thinking shift around. Post–traumatic growth has been explored
in hundreds of scientific studies, including a 2004 study in the Journal of Traumatic Stress showing
that 70% of survivors experienced some kind of positive psychological change after a traumatic
experience.
Art is extremely helpful with teen development. Since teenagers minds and emotions are so complex
it is hard for them to express it directly to others. Adolescents go through times where they don't feel
accepted. Art is the ultimate form of expression which is why some teens who have a creative mind
are able to revert to their talent, it could be through music, clothing, photography, painting, etc. Art
can be therapeutic to those who are capable of tapping into their creative side, it could be the
solution to their problem if they are able to understand the purpose of art. The creativity of

Career Path Of Visual Communication Design Essay
"You'll never make a living as an artist," a phrase I have heard nonstop from family, friends, and just
about everyone growing up. A phrase I constantly told myself while trying to pick my major when I
made the big transition in going to college. Coming from a family of doctors, veterinarians, and
other various medical careers, it was almost unheard of to pursue a career in the arts. I explored
business, advertising, teaching, and many other careers, but in the end, I decided to place happiness
over wealthiness and I chose to go through with a career path in Visual Communication Design.
Looking more into an art major and questioning if I had made the right decision, I learned that so
many of the things people say about artists are just rumours or myths. In today's society, artists are
not starving, they are thriving and we need them to keep the world running. Unlike myself, many
people decide to not get a job in the arts because they listen to the false claims of the people that tell
them that they will become a starving artist and have no money. In reality, creative jobs are
extremely needed in today 's society, and there are actually very many perks in pursuing an art
career. Some of the many perks include, being known to make an average amount of money, have
little to no decrease in job outlook, being statistically happier than other careers, while making
others and the world around you a much more positive place.
The arts are way more in need than one might expect, many

`` The Ecstasy Of Influence `` By Jonathan Allen Lethem
New ideas come from everywhere whether they are from people, places, books, animals, or even
come from something as meaningless as silence; however, we don't just get new ideas out of the
blue, we have to be inspired and influenced by those elements to create new art. Unlike Plato's Ion,
which states that God speaks through the artists, Lethem's The Ecstasy of Influence: A plagiarism;
projects that inspiration comes from the influence of our surroundings which is the key to creation.
Jonathan Allen Lethem, a modern American essayists, writes the article in which he talks about how
some artists see plagiarism as a wrong doing or stealing. Lethem disagrees with those artists' point
of view. He writes, "most artists are converted to art by art itself. Finding one's voice isn't just an
emptying and purifying oneself of the words of others but an adopting and embracing of filiations,
communities, and discourses" (Lethem 87). This means that there is an inspiration behind every
artist's work. The inspiration could come from something as simple as expanding another artists'
works. It is normal for an artist to be inspired by other artists, and then invents a work of art that is
similar to his/her inspiration. For instance, Lethem gives an example of how South Park, the TV
show, was inspired by Rankin/Bass and Charlie Brown Christmas specials. Most of the time,
plagiarism could lead to a great work of creativity.
Today, almost all work of art, whether they are movies, books,

Rosa Parks Research Paper
When somebody says the word artist, you would commonly think of a painter or sculptor. The
definition of an artist is a person that is skilled at a particular task or occupation. This definition
applies to everyone and one of the utmost memorable artists is Rosa Parks. Rosa Parks was black
and lived in a world where segregation was about and she took it into her own hands to make a
stand. Rosa Parks is an artist because she started the largest movement against racial segregation and
her actions have left an enduring legacy for the civil rights movement.
Rosa Parks initially launched the largest movement against segregation when she refused to move
from her original seat. The separation line for blacks and whites on the busses was placed in the
middle of the bus and the blacks were forced to sit in the back. Rosa parks was asked to move back
a seat and refused. The bus driver had her removed from the bus as she complied and got off. ...

The Rosa Parks organization elected Martin Luther king as their leader. After the Rosa Parks case
was settled he announced seven years later that he had a dream. Martin Luther's speech mentioned
how there should be equal rights for everyone. Some people believe that Rosa Parks inspired him to
take action.Rosa parks, just like Martin Luther, established what they believed to be true.
On the other hand, some people argue that Rosa Parks initiated violence. People say that the only
thing Rosa parks did was increase the acts of violence. Even though she was the one who initiated
the act which led to destruction it wasn't all bad. She also changed the world for the better and
introduced a new way of living without segregation. Without Rosa Parks ever believing that things
could get better we could still be living in a world where segregation and racism were apparent.Rosa

Main Role In The Hunger Artist
The hunger artist is a story that can be viewed in many aspects in life. Many people want to leave
this earth knowing that they accomplish some type of dream, goal, task or some type of legacy. His
dream was to be the most phenomenal faster the world has ever seen, even in his death. Besides the
dream, the hunger artist wanted nothing more than the people to be proud of what he was doing and
the praise from the spectators. There is no excitement to this task, but this dream that the hunger
artist had was a phenomenal one indeed. In the Hunger Artist there were symbols that play a
significant role in encouraging the reader to fall into deep thought, they are spectators, the cage, and
the clock.
The main character of the story is the hunger artist. He is a professional faster that thrives off the
attention of the people. He wants nothing more to prove to the spectators that he is the greatest faster
of all time. While proving that is, he the greatest faster of all time he is in a cage with a straw–lined

hunger artist fame rose to the top. He would know him better than anyone else. I would not call

and taunt him anything to enhance the excitement of what is going on in the cage which cannot be

Emily Carr: The Dark Oil Painting On The Woods
Upon reflection for these exhibits, they all left their own mark on me and I was certainly blown
away with some of the art works. In the Emily Carr exhibit there were multiple artists that had their
own style and each was unique. My personal favorites in that gallery where;
Artist: Emily Carr. Painting: Shore and forest (Cordova bay) My depiction: The dark oil paint on the
paper kinda give this calming landscape a very rugged look to it. Almost unsettling. Lots of
movement with the oil paint. Artist: Lawren S. Harris. Painting: From berg lake, evening, #4 in the
"sketches of mount Robson" series. My depiction: I appreciate this one for it's multitude of tones.
Though it is a monotone painting it is beautiful done in the day that the changes of color are melded
together very well and that all the shedding is done marvelously. The mountain seemed so perfect
and untouched. Tones and clean lines with oil paint has always been a struggle of mine.

An Analysis Of Tolstoy ' Tolstoy 's ' The Sigh '
Tolstoy says, "people come to understand that the meaning of eating lies in the nourishment of the
body, only when they cease to consider that the object of that activity is pleasure. And it is the same
with regard to art. People will come to understand the meaning of art only when they cease to
consider that the aim of that activity is beauty, that is to say, pleasure." (Tolstoy, 7). The
"nourishment" good art provides is capability to infect others with the emotions that the artist had
when he expressed the art. This "nourishment" stems from the idea that one must have the feelings
of the artist transmitted to them, and if they experience similar feelings as the artist then it is true art
and the observer/viewer is nourished.
This "hunger", this fundamental human need, which good art satisfies is the need for man to be
united. This lack of connection leaves humans hungry for real connection with those around them,
connections that are not tainted with corruption, but art that makes all men feel united and same as
one another. "Art begins when one person, with the object of joining another or others to himself in
one and the same feeling, expresses that feeling by certain external indications." (Tolstoy, 9). The
first bite of food to satisfy the hunger begins with expression of an idea that evokes emotion in the
artist, which also evokes emotion from people around the artist. "Sometimes people who are
together, if not hostile to one another, are, at least estranged in

Public Art in the United Arab Emirates
Public art is the art that has been planned to of being staged in public and its usually outdoor, it can
be carved sculpture, cast or built or painted. What's special about public art is the way how it is
made, the place where it is and what meaning it has behind it. Public art can express community
value or describe a cultural related point, and its placed in public for everyone to see. Public art is a
reflection of how the artist sees the world and response to his time and space. In this essay, I want to
review about how the public art reflects the traditional culture.
As an example of public art in the UAE, is the camel caravan. It is a sculpture of a camel that is
painted with colorful different shapes. There is several camels caravan located around the place, and
each of them has a different unique style. I believe that public art should be reflective of traditional
culture. The camel caravan also has a reflection on the cultural side that camels are very common
and a known animal in the UAE. Public art strategies help to uncover and enhance the implied
identity, the value, the unique meaning and the character of the social and physical form of a
community or a society, the community's character and sense of space reflects this identity. The
person's sense of space always develops over time while reflecting the shade of his social values
around and within the community. The character of a community will be reflected by its cultural
narrative space of a place. The

This past Friday, I attended an art exhibition at the Memphis College of Art where I saw great
paintings from Meghann Riepenhoff, along with Tim Andrews. The show consisted of both their
paintings in separate sections, they were the only two artist. Personally, I'd say the show combined
did not have a theme, but as separate it did. When I first stepped in the building, I was welcomed by
greeters, the event coordinator and Riepenhoff's paintings. Her painting's made me think the overall
event theme was about the beach and waves, but that was not the case. While I continued walking

Viewing the paintings, it seem to me very realistic, as if I were actually standing in front of an

Each work of art presented by her was processed and completed in Bainbridge Island, Washington
area. Although I deeply enjoyed all of her unique art, my favorite cyanotype piece is "Littoral Drift
#275". What I most loved about this particular piece was the fact that it was a more so closer, deeper
view into the wave. The sides of the landscape were both dark whereas toward the center it was all
type of blue shades coming together and the splat of white making it one great wave cyanotype. As I

Louis Xiv's Influence On Modern Art
"Every great work of art has two faces, one toward its own time and one toward the future, toward
eternity." Art in and of itself is a reflection of the ideals and concepts promoted during the time it
was conceived in, and serves as a historical litmus test as to which periods it draws inspiration from;
however, as Daniel Barenboim states in his quote above, impactful art that resonates with the human
spirit lasts beyond its time. Throughout history, art serves as the visual manifestation of the power
and wealth of those who patronize the medium and by extension the period's culture. More
importantly, however, art can serve as a lasting mark and legacy for those who desire to leave a
visual reminder of their strength while they were living. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Sun King, nicknamed as such because of his permeating influence throughout France, attained
what was perhaps the most flagrant and impressive demonstration of power and wealth up to his
time through his residence: the Palace of Versailles. At its completion, Versailles was Louis XIV's
call to the world, making its presence felt with the attention to detail and decadence directed towards
all of Europe. The exterior was worked on by French architect Louis Le Vau, who melded the best
of the previous classical Renaissance style with the burgeoning French Baroque of curved, complex
facades with high–reaching domes and twisted columns. Under the direction of interior designer
Charles Le Brun, the interior of Versailles defined French Baroque by its sheer scope and decadence,
most notably with the Hall of Mirrors, where he extrapolates the illusionistic quality found in the
Baroque style and enlarges the room through a series of inset mirrors reflecting the arched windows
opposite them. Once populated with gold and silver chairs upholstered with red brocade and other
opulent ornamentation, the Hall of Mirrors was one of many rooms used to host festivals open to the
notable European figures of his time as well as salons, where hosts provided a platform for leisurely
intelligent discussion. Given the unparalleled extravagance of the palace, it would be overwhelming
to a viewer were it not for the vast park designed by Andre Le Notre, whose careful composition of
vistas throughout the formal gardens provide a rational and beautiful frame to the ornamented
palace. The gardens also reinforce the concept of Louis XIV's power, extending the idea of his
governance to even the natural world that surrounds him. Truly, through the manifestation

Analysis Of Kahlo, My Favorite Artist Of All Times
For this assignment I decided to choose this piece of art work because Frida Kahlo is one of my
favorite artists of all times. Her art work always spoke to me in many ways. Through her paintings
she is letting us feel and acknowledge her experience's and struggles. While visiting the museum
one of my favorite parts was being able to see most of her famous paintings face to face. Being able
to see those paintings so close made me admired her work even more. B) In this painting the artist
uses the element of line continuously. As we look closer into the artwork we see a variety of lines
such as actual and implied lines, Horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines. The lines that are most
noticeable are the horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines. Vertical lines mainly come from the
different buildings in this painting, buildings such as skyscrapers and churches. Both horizontal and
vertical lines are connecting each symbolic symbol in the painting, as this painting mainly consists
of different images put together to represent culture, politics and Identity. C) Shapes are flat. If you
take a shape and give it three dimensions, it has volume. A three dimensional form has volume.
VOLUME can be stimulated in a two–dimensional work such as paintings. In Frida's painting My
Dress Hangs there, we see both three and two dimensional volumes. A perfect example of three–
dimensional volume is the image of the Washington monument. The Washington monument is in the
center–top of the

Controversy Of Advertisement
Argumentative Essay
In today's society the only way to become a famous musician is to have good music that fans will
like. One of the ways fans learn about an artist's new songs is through ads. A fan would be watching
TV or listening to music on their smartphone, and an ad might pop up with their favorite artist's new
song. The fan would most likely wonder what is was and download it. Artists should continue to
allow their music to be placed in advertisements because it helps them earn money, and it can help
them get recognized.
First, using ads can help the artist earn more money. Some artists only make U.S. minimum wage
for their music, so advertising and making corporate deals can really help. A band called Oh, Sleeper
is an example. "Out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sometimes fans will feel betrayed when they see their favorite song in a burger commercial and
instead of gaining popularity the artist will actually lose it and get very strong negative feedback.
"Take U2 for example–one of the world's most popular rock bands who after, landing a deal with
Apple that had their 2014 album Songs of Innocence installed into 500 million iTunes subscribers'
libraries for free, faces a storm of negative feedback from fans and critics alike. People resented the
idea that an album they didn't ask for was forced on them, likening the album to "musical spam,"
and the reputations of both U2 and Apple were damaged." (Source 2 Paragraph 8) Although doing
this can hurt the reputation of artists it can help them as well. They can earn way more money, get
famous quickly and live a good life. It is a risk artists are willing to take because making music is
their livelihood not just their hobby.
To conclude, signing off songs, albums, and making commercials can be a risk, there are way more
benefits than cons. Besides if an artist doesn't want his or her music on streaming apps, they can just
tell those companies to stop streaming their music, which may increase sales of downloads of an
artist's music since it is not being streamed. Everyone knows that ads help and making deals help so
why make a big deal? It is an artist's choice and if they want to

Self Portraits: Ekphrasis Poetry
Ekphrasis poetry can be written as either an exhibition of the sensational aspects of an artist's life or
as a act to explicate the artwork itself. Gehrke balances both options by opening the gaze of the
audience to witness the life of the artist but also the process, aftermath, and desire to paint. Gehrke
respects the creative process of the painters, but also gives voice to the torments of the artists, their
subjects, themes of death, life and love. The book as an entire collection gages the immediacy of art
and time, because life is but a fleeting glimpse of fractured memories and light. Moreover, the
images presented in Gehrke's collection are intertwined capturing the urgency to paint, the

Thus, the moods of both poems are romantic, grief stricken, morose meditation on lost loved ones.
Furthermore, the significant images are the mirrors and windows, which represent the portrayal of
the artist, their memories and the hope of reflecting their beloveds in a way that keeps their
memories alive. Monet saw his wife as a mirror of himself, his own reflection, saying "So that he
knew even then,/ that he would never/ not be looking through her,/ each morning, in the mirror/ his
face laid on top of her face" ("Self–Portrait Monet"). While Rembrandt, used the mirror to paint not
only himself but his wife as she died, explaining that "then this morning he must paint/ more
distantly, self–love abolished to the province/ of the weak, the mirror turned away from him,/the
canvas laid out on the stretching board" ("Late Self–Portrait Rembrandt"). The mirror is a
representation of self but also speculation on the artist's mindset and motives.

Exploring Social Patterns in the Renaissance Through Fashion
Exploring Social Patterns in the Renaissance Through Fashion
Fashion reflects the attitudes of a society more than any other art form. Like art, fashion is a material
record of the ideals that swayed the nations at the time of their creation. Through examining the
styles, and tastes of a particular era, we can realize where the interests and priorities of a time lie. As
Frank Parsons wrote in his 1920 study, The Psychology of Dress, "There is surly no better field in
which to trace the devious paths of human thought than in that of clothes, where man has ever given
free play to self expression, in a way which, thought not always a credit to his intelligence, is yet

Clothing expression in medieval Europe, like all other forms of artistic expression at this time,
found it's biggest outlet in the ecclesiastical field, as this was where all the money was to be found.
The churches employed all the best builders and craftsmen in creating their great cathedrals, and art
works. In clothing, the church dictated what sorts of materials were made, and brought into the area,
what colors were in use, and what styles were used, influencing the secular as well as ecclesiastical
dress. In the feudal system only great Barons and their families wore fine cloths, as clothing was a
symbol of rank and importance. Each family made their own clothes, so fashion was very
individualistic in style, and each family had their own characteristics. With an increase of wealth in
the area, and the beginning of the crusades, new elaborate styles were introduced into the scene.
Fashions became strange, and grotesque in nature reflecting the constant struggles and wars of the
time, as fantasy and the grotesque generally influence social costumes accompanying times of war.
Women in their headgear actually wore huge horns, like an ox, that towered above them and
supported a veil, and men's shoes were peaked and extended six inches in front of them for common
men, and a foot for gentlemen, and two feet for noblemen.
The church frowned on the extreme finery, painted faces, and low–cut dresses of the women. But as

Art As A Form Of Self-Expression
Is art a form of self–expression from the artist to their audience? Self–expression is defined as, "the
expression of one's feelings, thoughts, or ideas, especially in writing, art, music, or dance." (English
Oxford Dictionary). The source of inspiration for art is unknown for certain, but it is commonly
believed that it comes from inside the artist, based on their life lessons and experiences. If the
inspiration comes from within, then artists are expressing themselves through their art, thus art is
self–expression. There are innumerous forms of art, from writing to dancing; singing to creating a
drawing, public speaking and everything in–between. A person who is whistling is expressing how
they are feeling through the notes that they hit. Someone who is drawing can use darker colors, such
as browns and blacks to give off an eerie tone. Does that mean that all art is self–expression? No,
not all art is self–expression, maybe it isn't self–expression at all. This leads to the debate over
whether art is self–expression if the inspiration comes from an outside source, rather than from
within. When an artist attempts to express their self–feelings through their art, a special emotion is
evoked if the art comes from deep within. There is a distinguishable difference between art that
comes from within and art that is inspired by an outside source. Plato believes that artists are
"possessed" by someone or something, rather than their inspiration coming from inside. This means
that art would not be self–expressional, as it isn't coming from within the artist's mind, but rather an
exterior source. In Plato's book, Ion, Socrates explains to Ion, that: "...speaking well about Homer;
it's a divine power that moves you, as a 'Magnetic' stone moves iron rings." (Plato, Ion, 18). In this
analogy, Socrates is attempting to explain to Ion that his ability to be well–versed in the study of
Homer is not due to his own inspiration and aspirations, but rather because of a divine power that
gives him this ability. In the text, Plato talked about how Ion would light up when talking about
Homer, showing that he may be 'possessed' by Homer. Ion is drawn in towards Homer as a fish is to
the hook with bait on it.

An Essay On The History Of American Graffiti
The Power of Paint "The people who run our cities don't understand graffiti because they think
nothing has the right to exist unless it makes a profit" ("Banksy Quotes"). This is a quote by Banksy,
a popular graffiti artist from England ("Banksy Was Here"). Graffiti has been practiced since ancient
times. Graffiti from ancient Rome still remains on the walls today (Grody 5). Modern graffiti was
started by two artists under the names of "Cornbread" and "Cool Earl" in the 1960s, who began a
graffiti style called "tagging" in Philadelphia.("The History of American Graffiti"). "Tagging" is the
most common form of graffiti, which is when the artist writes their name. Graffiti began to spread
and these two artists received attention from the press ("The History of American Graffiti"). Graffiti

The presence of graffiti in art galleries shows this. "[G]raffiti art has been shown in various galleries
in New York and London, and artists are often commissioned to do legal murals and other work for
art shows" ("Graffiti: Art Through Vandalism"). Graffiti artists demonstrate their skill through
various pieces to receive attention from those who can hire them. In order to be recognized by the
public, these artists must master the use of spray paint. This is difficult because it can not be erased
or removed and the artist must work their mistakes into the piece. It takes time for graffiti artists to
improve because "[a]s in any art form, authority of creative expression develops through committed
practice and thought" (Grody 7). Grody describes the commitment that is necessary in graffiti art.
Graffiti artists often plan out their pieces and think through their ideas before beginning the process
of painting. They must quickly and carefully execute their art to avoid being noticed. It takes time to
acquire such a precise skill. It is important to recognize the skill that graffiti requires to be

Greek Art
The history of art is one the most fascinating type of history there is. Reasons can range from having
the unique ability to tell the story of every artist putting their own mark on art culture to simply
being the story of how people were able to create an outlet where they could express the way they
were feeling about society or changes within Earth itself, with beautiful and admirable artwork. But
of all, the artwork created a chance to be openly interpreted by anyone and be observed differently
and freely. It's like a secret message that is created in each work of art that contains the story behind
it or the reason why the artwork was created in the first place. However they was also jealousy and
pride that bloomed with creating art. Inspiration to artists came from anything: nature, loved ones,
experiences but most of all other artists. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Greeks who swore the Romans kept coping the way certain works made by Greek artists, was
one argument that till this day many are trying to unravel layers of reasons behind certain Greek

Reflective Essay On Art
The day was December 30th it was a chilly day when a young artist named Betty Edwards walked
into her first class on art. I was walking alone a week prior after meeting up with some of my
students that I tutor when I got a call from my old art professor. I took me back to when I started
learning the wonder and culture behind art. After taking his course for half a year I gave up on art
my levels of motivation dropped and I felt like I just couldn't do it. During our talk he recommended
to a small coffee shop that offered art lessons for all levels of artist. Today December 30th the day
before New Year's Eve was my first course at the coffee shop almost in the smack center of nowhere
of New York. Every time the door would open you could hear the cars simultaneously rush by even
if we were in an alleyway. In all their were a total of 20 students who registered for the art lessons
only 19 showed up. Some of them beginners some of them looked like their art was meant for a
gallery. We all brought one thing to represent us and our art I brought an unbelievably small cat
drawing that looked horrendous compared to the other artists. The instructor walked in and handed
out construction paper and a pencil. Little did I know this would relate to our lesson. The 20th
student walked in late with no representation of his art he came in with a notebook and himself. His
name was Sam and he was my artnet for the next four weeks. We started our lessons the instructors

The Prayer At Valley Forge Analysis
As Gala has no favorite style, she also can't pick a favorite artist. Growing up, she said that her
favorite artist was Arnold Friburg, a well known artist whose work is realistic and reminiscent of the
Renaissance painters. Arguably his most famous painting is "The Prayer at Valley Forge," depicting
George Washington, kneeling by his horse. Friburg lived near where Gala grew up and she saw him
as a local rockstar. Later, when Gala gained her own fame for "The Ten Virgins," she sent Friburg an
invitation to hear her give a lecture about her art. To her surprise, he came. She shook the hand of
her childhood hero and he invited her to tour his personal artist studio, a "huge, gargantuan" barn
full of 10–12 ft canvases. He had just finished painting a commissioned piece of Prince Charles, and
it was still in the studio for her to see.
As she got older, she only collected more and more favorite artists. She grew to admire Howard
Terpening, an artist famous for his slightly impressionistic oil paintings of Native Americans and for
his fantastic portrayal of sunlight. Gala says that his work is at once realistic and magical. She had
studied his work extensively, right down to the way he frames his paintings, when she happened to
meet him at an art show in Sedona, AZ. "He was a very nice looking man," she says with a laugh,
"but what can you do? He signed my book. Now he lives in Scottsdale and gets half a million to
three–fourths a million dollars for one painting. He's one of

The Artist And The Work
"Everything you can imagine is real." There are many visual artists, composers and writers we could
pass on the street and never recognize them. Yet we are still curious. There is something about
artmaking that draws us to it but it seems so foreign to our own lives. We want to know more about
these seemingly special people who can accomplish these unique things. We can 't help but conflate
the two. The artist and the work. Well, to some extent, an artist 's work is always about the artist.
How can it be otherwise, since they have no other source but themselves?
When we look or hear art, we only see and hear artist, because that is all we can see it 's all we have
to work with. The problem with art is, because we love it so much, we put the artists who created it
on pedestals and we believe they cannot fail because, in some corner of our mind, we've formed a
relationship with them and their product, and for us to discover them as imperfect shatters the
illusion. We have made a god in our mind where there is only a human, as flawed and imperfect as
ourselves, but what that piece of art they created gave us, in that moment in time, was pure love, joy
and satisfaction. The art didn't do anything wrong to you. The art shouldn't be punished. Say what
you will of the artist, but the product they produced and that you love shouldn't be demeaned if it
made you happy for one moment in time.
Can we separate the art from the artist? Only ethical answer is? No. Most people like Roman

considered an artist because he expresses himself and continues to inspire a large amount of people.
To begin, one quality that makes him an artist is his ability to express himself through his skills. He

Ivan Eyre Landscape And Still Lives Analysis
Ivan Eyre is one of the most renowned artists of Manitoba. Born in Tullymet, Saskatchewan and
moved to Winnipeg almost sixty years ago, Eyre's art is both surrealistic, modern and landscape
portraiture. With his praire background Ivan Eyre has an unique approach of stills and landscapes
with a remarkable sense of surrealism. His compositionally abstracts reflect on the decades he had
created his art in; the colors, forms and themes are truly showing his particular taste and creativity.
Landscapes and Still Lives is a smaller exhibition of eleven works by Ivan Eyre – which are all in
the permanent collection of the Winnipeg Art Gallery. Eyre's stills are well organized landscapes
which seem to be a magnification of a surrealistic life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The viewer can learn about the times the artworks were created, the medium used and the
inspiration of the artist. While some artworks only have a fragment of presentation it is easy to
gather a generic idea about the influence of the artist. The public presentation are the words of the
curator which is easily noticeable through the friendly tone of text. The intentions of the curator are
well represented in the smaller and in the larger public reflections and the openness of the contexts
makes it easy to understand these intentions. These intentions show the viewer the different sides of
the artist which makes his unique art.
The colors of choice in each painting seems unintentional – however, is it? I believe every single art
piece was carefully developed and well thought–out. Ivan Eyre is an artists of passion and thought.
He might have unconventional forms and themes, but his art is based on solid ideas. The whole
exhibit supports how he chose his themes and how his past (and present) reflects on his artwork. It is
absolutely impossible and almost foolish to try to define the singular meaning of Eyre's art.
Landscapes and Still Lives is not only an exhibition of an artist – it is an exhibition of prairie life,
imagery, memories and an important part of Canadian art too. Andrew Kear wrote " For Eyre, art
excels when it discloses a world that is fundamentally private, irrational, and instructable even to the
artist themself."

Introduction
This report basically describes the process of design NoSQL systems for data persisence and
implementation of design and the solution of tasks that we are required. The dataset we worked with
is a music dataset from lastfm and the designs for MongoDB, HBase and Neo4j are based on the
dataset features and given queries. The implementation includes creating databases, setting up the
schema and running queries, followed by testing the performance. There are also iteration designs
for each system in order to gain higher performance.
The report contains five sections. A brief introduciton is showing here and each system has two
sections to demonstrate the schema and query design. At the end of the report, a section for ... Show

collection has fields of UserID, ArtistID, ArtistName, Weight, Tag YN, TagId, TagValue, TimeStamp
and does not structured as a embedded document. Like a RDBMS, each row has independent
information of a user – artist – weight – tag which is easier to update and read. "Artist" collection is
set aside due to its rare usage. "Friends" collection is also created separately to be linked (joined)
when it needs to be.
The data structure of schema 1 and schema 2 are same as below Figure3.

The given 8 queries can be distinctively divided into two parts: one needs a join function with 2
collections, while another needs not. As query 1, 7, 8 requires user – friends relationship, it needs
join function executed by join aggregation commands ($lookup). On the other hand, the other
queries (2,3,4,5,6) can be carried out by using only "UserArtistInfo" collection. Furthermore, simple
queries such as query 2 and 4 does not necessarily need aggregation pipeline, in the mean while
query 1,3,5,6,7,8 need aggregation pipeline which is more complex using the syntax of "$lookup",
"$unwind", "$match", "$group", "$project", "$sort", and "$limit".

Final Paper– Comparison between two works of art
Pompeo Girolamo Batoni Diana and Cupid 1761 and Corrado Giaquinto The Lamentation 1740's
Neoclassical Art was an art form that followed the Baroque and Rococo art periods. Neoclassicism
was a way for artists to display their wish to return to meaningful art, to escape the frivolity of
landscapes and still life paintings, and paint something that had a moral, educational or inspirational
value to the viewer. Neoclassical art was an attempt to return knowledge and purity back to art.
Neoclassicism was mainly focused on Greek and Roman arts and stories of the classical era with
some new advancement. It was a revival of antiquity. In Pompeo ... Show more content on

In each of these works you can clearly see a loving gaze between subjects. In Diana and Cupid,
Diana is gazing so lovingly and playfully at Cupid, while Cupid is staring at his bow his hand is
placed upon her leg for support while reaching for it. In The Lamentation, only an angel is touching
the body of Jesus, holding his hand, but the other main figure in the painting has her hands clasped
together and is gazing at Jesus in a loving yet mournful way. The use of color in the paintings can
easily be compared and contrasted. Both works are fairly repetitive in their color use, and the colors
chosen are clear indicators for where the artist wants the viewer to look. For example in Diana and
Cupid her clothing is a bright vibrant red, and while there are many other beautiful colors
throughout the painting none are quite as vibrant as the red used. This clearly shows that the human
figure is the main subject of the art. In The Lamentation the use of color is a little different, it would
seem that the artist used color on all of the other subjects except for Jesus' naked body which in turn
I believe makes Jesus stand out from the picture, because there is color used everywhere but on
Jesus you focus in on him while all of the other subjects are kind of blending together. In each of the
paintings the artist also uses the shadowing technique. The use of light and dark is captivating in
The Lamentation; a lot of it has to

In this essay, a comparison and contrast of Hito Steyerl (born 1966) with that of Francisco de Goya
(1746–1828) work of art will be made. These artists have been selected to demonstrate that they
both can be defined as revolutionary artists but within separate art periods. To demonstrate this, it
must first be defined what is revolutionary art and how does it affect us? The history of art has gone
through constant changes from movement to movement, with ideas being portrayed differently.
Revolutionary art is something that people take notice the many years after being presented. It
leaves a lasting impression no matter the genre or means to make it. Even though Goya and Steyerl
are artists from different eras, they still contribute value to the art community. Francisco de Goya

The Simple The Better By Wranke Analysis
The Simple the Better In a place filled of talented people, Italy was the location in which
performance was vital in a rich or important person's life. Wranke's article explains how important it
was to have talent, in Italy, during the renaissance. The renaissance is known as the rebirth of
painting, sculpting, and almost everything we could possibly think off. During the renaissance, most
artist had a common enemy known as the court, which was ruled by the most wealthy and powerful
families in Italy. The court was in charge of one's position in society. When an individual would be

The lords preferred having a good time to relax rather than having a piece of art been done in a
complicate way. This lead to the point in which artists preferred to be ranked together with
philosophers, because "painters preferred the intellectually elite status of poets and philosophers..."
(pg. 28). Even though artists would have had a poor quality lifestyle, for them it was a lot better than
been a buffone because a buffone was a career that lacked respect. The overall purpose of Warnke's
article is the explanation of the financial status that one could expect as a painter, singer and
buffone, during the renaissance time. The author explains his thesis thoroughly, but the reader ends
with more questions regarding the situation that performers would have. The struggle of having
work and been paid not only for the need of money but for the social status as an artist. In this
article, the point of view is that as an artist in the category of paint, doing something that was less
time consuming would leave an individual with better life opportunities, rather than an artist doing
complex frescos and putting their soul into

Edward Elgar Research Paper
The life of an artist can be a difficult one. Many artists produce work for their own enjoyment or
because it is their passion, but some are lucky enough to get paid for their work, enough to make it a
legitimate source of income. Edward Elgar, a composer in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, was
one of these artists. Although he composed music for enjoyment, he was popular enough in his day
to make a living from his music, and his reputation continued to grow after his death, making his
work a valued aspect of British culture today. Even though he was in the limelight during his
lifetime, Elgar could put his heart and soul into his music, which ultimately reflected his mood and
the mores of the Victorian and Edwardian eras he lived through. ... Show more content on

The author George Bernard Shaw wrote, "Elgar is carrying on Beethoven's work" (7). In 1917,
Daniel Gregory Mason wrote, "Sir Edward Elgar... is surely one of the great men of our time" (288).
This was after the First World War when Elgar's work was seen as inspiring patriotism. Much of the
literature on Elgar's work notes its contrast to other music at the time, which may explain why it
took so long for Elgar to become popular. In 1957, musician Ralph Vaughan Williams called Elgar's
work, "quite new without being eccentric" when referencing a performance of the Enigma
Variations, originally performed in 1899 (Williams et al. 302). In 1917, Daniel Gregory Mason said
Elgar's work is "an escape from habit to initiative, from formality to eloquence, from insularity to
cosmopolitanism" (289). Elgar lacked the formal training of many of his contemporaries, and this
seems to have given him a greater freedom in his composition. Mason wrote, "But the important
point is that however much... he may fall back into the formula of his school, he has at his best left
them far behind" (289). Sir Ernest Bullock noted that "much of his music is distinguished by a
characteristic individuality" (Williams et al. 306). Most of his training instead came from experience
with music and instruments. As a result, critics often describe Elgar's work as having "orchestral

The Importance Of Art
What is art exactly? Art can come in my shapes and forms. In some cases, art can be used for
entertainment purposes, or they can expressed through a debate or argument. It can be personal, for
example like perspectives on the way the world is seen, expressing one's thoughts, emotions, and
desires. Artistic creativity is widely common amongst different cultural practices, and express
beauty within inherited ideas passed down from generation to generation. Artistic expression is
needed so that can cultures and democratic societies can function properly. It is crucial for humans
in a collective manner to be exposed to the cultural diversity, and in this way also help maintain it.
Arts education such as in the subjects of music, dance, theatre, and visual arts are essential to society
and are a part of this cultural heritage and cultural awareness that is needed. Throughout the years,
art has been depicted as communication where an artistic put his feelings into a portrait or a song.
However, since everybody is unique, the opinions that they have upon the subject can be
differentiate from the artist's mindset. But, if it is expressed as obvious, even the language may not
be the same then mutual relatable feelings can shared with the artist. For example, I listen to Korean
pop, even though the lyrics are in korean, the beat of the song and the overall tone help me
understand the message that the artist may be trying to convey. Art connects us globally, because it

The Art Of A Radio Station
I've walked into enough stuffy, fancy art galleries to last a lifetime. Finally, today I was lucky
enough to wander into Stellar Gallery in San Marco. The building looks aged out front, with fading
print on the overhangs, and various pieces of art displayed in the windows below. The door is simple
and opens with a soft chime of bells, giving it a small business, intimate–type feeling when hearing
the sound.
Once you're inside, a radio station playing today's hits, rather than elevator music. Sounds emit
softly over the speakers in the main entrance gallery, just loud enough though to be heard
throughout the adjoining rooms. The interior is clean enough, no dust or dirt to effect the art pieces
scattered around the space. Standing in the main entry, the doorways are decorated in a grand sense
with crown molding and Roman style archways over the doorframes. The walls are a soft, pastel
green that pair well with the white trim and dark flooring. The color is perfect and doesn't steal the
show from the artwork hanging.
The art is displayed in many different ways, in multiple positions and on different surfaces
depending on the piece. Paintings and framed work are hung all over the walls, leaned on walls, and
some in stacks; occasionally organized by artist, and then some sporadically placed. The sculptures
are placed on pedestals and tables scattered throughout the venue, most done by the same local
artist, Leeland Brewsaugh.

The Conflicts Between Seeing Nature As A Medium Of Art
Imagine hiking and standing upon a mountain top and just basking in the beauty of the scenery
around. Some people consider nature as the purest form of natural expression. Some artists consider
nature as a medium of art. But what is a medium of art? Art is expressed to be man made, a form of
human expression, a tale of beauty or tragedy. The world is a beautiful place filled with unique
creatures, beautiful scenery and an overwhelming sense of power and importance. But a medium is
considered as materials used to help express the viewpoint of the artist. In this evaluation argument
one will see the conflicts between seeing nature as a contributor to art. where if it can be used as a
material that inspires the artist, can be used to express emotion, and help support the point of view
of the art work. One would think that nature would have nothing to do with art. But it seems that art
can be found centered upon this idea. Nature is used in many different forms either to build a giant
building or to just exists and to be admired. In many cases trees and other natural elements are used
as art supplies. One can view the use of nature being used as a medium of art. Using the materials as
a source of expressing the viewpoint of the artists.
Some disapprove of this viewpoint, some people suggest that art is to conceptual to be related or
influenced by nature. Some people also state that nature is based of evolution and science not on the
concepts of feelings

Tara Compare And Contrast

  • 1. Tara Compare And Contrast A deeper understanding can be gained by comparing the similarities and differences between different artworks of a similar era and/or similar subjects. By bringing artworks together and comparing them side by side it is easier to see what the artwork is trying to convey. There are many different pieces of art that depict the Goddess Tara. By having an exhibition that contains the Goddess Tara in her green manifestation, Tara, and Yellow Tara a viewer would be able to easily compare the three art works. Although no two are alike, there are key similarities and differences that can be seen throughout the different time periods and regions that the artwork came out of. The grouping of these three artworks would help the viewer see the similarities and differences in pose, medium, facial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She is the most important goddess in Buddhism. She is also seen as a savior and female counterpart of the Bodhisattva. Her worship reflects the combination of ancient, mother–goddess cults and Buddhism. She can be depicted and defined by many different visual aspects. One of the ways the Goddess Tara changes depending on what depiction you view is what color her skin is. The color of Tara usually gives an indication to her mood. She is also seen depicted with different surroundings in one aspect she is surrounded by the Goddess of Dawn and the Protector against evil while in another depiction she might stand alone. These interpretations are representative on the art from that region and time period. Although she might have changing surroundings, as you can see by the three different artworks, Tara is usually placed seated on a pedestal in a very specific pose with her one leg crossed, she is usually wearing a crown and jewelry. These are all good indicators that we are viewing the Goddess Tara. When different representations of her are brought together, it makes the view see the difference in techniques that have been used to represent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. The Fifth Avenue Art Gallery The Fifth Avenue Art Gallery is a premiere gallery located in Brevard Country and has operated since 1974. I visited this gallery on September 16th and liked that this gallery is open to the public and has free admission. The Fifth Avenue Art Gallery contains wonderful art that are all originals. These visual arts come in a variety of forms like painting, sculptures, crafts, and jewelry. The Fifth Avenue Art Gallery has a wide variety of art too from many different artists and a beautiful collection of many different pieces. I selected the Fifth Avenue Art Gallery because I was curious to see how other people viewed Florida through their art. Two artists in particular caught my attention, Bill McCoy and Nancy Hamlin–Vogler. Bill McCoy is a traditional oil painter that creates paintings that reflect Florida's lifestyle and nature. His paintings are semi–realistic and capture the beauty of Florida. Bill McCoy was the president of The Artists Guild of Brevard and The Strawbridge Art League (website). Nancy Hamlin–Vogler is an artist of many talents and creates art of many different mediums like acrylic, charcoal, and mixed media. Her artwork is sporadic and spontaneous that ignites deep thought and emotion. She is an award winning artist and is a member of the St. Augustine Art Association (website). I walked around the whole gallery and look at all the different art, some art was really cool and others weren't so much. I focused my attention on these two artists because they ... • 5. Conformity Is The Most Prized Virtue "Society," Emerson wrote in his timeless treatise on self–reliance and what it really means to be a nonconformist, "is a joint–stock company, in which the members agree, for the better securing of his bread to each shareholder, to surrender the liberty and culture of the eater." In such a groupthink society, Emerson cautioned, conformity is the most prized virtue, but whoever wishes to be a true person "must be a nonconformist." "Life would be dull indeed without experimenters and courageous breakers–with–tradition," wrote Marie Bullock, the courageous founder of the Academy of American Poets, a century later when she rose to defend E.E. Cummings from his detractors in 1951 – detractors who had attacked the Academy for awarding him their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Shahn illustrates the value of nonconformity as a catalyst of cultural evolution with the story of the tumult that took place in France when officials proposed that one of the pavilions of the prestigious 1925 Paris Exhibition be set up in the space belonging to the Society of Independent Artists – the collective of nonconformists whose annual exhibitions had been setting the tone for modern art since their formation in 1884. It was suggested that these innovators had done their job and there was no further need for their tradition–upending sensibility, so they should relinquish their space to the traditional art establishment. benshahn_nonconformist4 An art critic appalled by the backward proposition responded with twenty–five reasons why the Independents should keep their space and hold their annual exhibition. The reasons he listed were only names – the names of the most recent winners of the Prix de Rome, the venerated French art award that had been conferred upon promising talents in traditional art since 1663. All but one of those names were by then completely unknown. The critic juxtaposed those with the names of twenty–five artists who had presented at the Independents' exhibition – artists who, as Shahn points out, "could not by any stretch of the imagination have won such an award [as the Prix de Rome]." • 7. The Importance Of Art Art is all around us, it's everywhere you go: cartoons, buildings, photography, even the architecture of streets and sidewalks. There are many forms of art, and it doesn't have to be just drawing or painting, it can also be singing, acting, poetry, fashion, etc. All of these talents are an embodiment of expression, it allows individuals to explore their creativity and enhances their learning abilities. Without art everything would be black and white, there would be no substance. In today's age, not many people notice or appreciate any type of artwork. As an artist and an actress, creativity has always been my strong suit. When I'm on stage or drawing it's like I'm telling a story. People take art for granted, it's very disappointing how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Individuals who experience trauma or loss had an impact on their artistic thinking, for example, Frida Kahlo. John Lennon. Paul McCartney. Truman Capote. Robin Williams. Jerry Garcia, some of the most revered creative minds in modern history have experienced major trauma. Psychologists call this phenomenon "post–traumatic growth." When an individual experiences a major loss, the brain explores its own creative escape as part of "rebuilding" themselves, especially as our perspectives, priorities, and ways of thinking shift around. Post–traumatic growth has been explored in hundreds of scientific studies, including a 2004 study in the Journal of Traumatic Stress showing that 70% of survivors experienced some kind of positive psychological change after a traumatic experience. Art is extremely helpful with teen development. Since teenagers minds and emotions are so complex it is hard for them to express it directly to others. Adolescents go through times where they don't feel accepted. Art is the ultimate form of expression which is why some teens who have a creative mind are able to revert to their talent, it could be through music, clothing, photography, painting, etc. Art can be therapeutic to those who are capable of tapping into their creative side, it could be the solution to their problem if they are able to understand the purpose of art. • 9. Career Path Of Visual Communication Design Essay "You'll never make a living as an artist," a phrase I have heard nonstop from family, friends, and just about everyone growing up. A phrase I constantly told myself while trying to pick my major when I made the big transition in going to college. Coming from a family of doctors, veterinarians, and other various medical careers, it was almost unheard of to pursue a career in the arts. I explored business, advertising, teaching, and many other careers, but in the end, I decided to place happiness over wealthiness and I chose to go through with a career path in Visual Communication Design. Looking more into an art major and questioning if I had made the right decision, I learned that so many of the things people say about artists are just rumours or myths. In today's society, artists are not starving, they are thriving and we need them to keep the world running. Unlike myself, many people decide to not get a job in the arts because they listen to the false claims of the people that tell them that they will become a starving artist and have no money. In reality, creative jobs are extremely needed in today 's society, and there are actually very many perks in pursuing an art career. Some of the many perks include, being known to make an average amount of money, have little to no decrease in job outlook, being statistically happier than other careers, while making others and the world around you a much more positive place. The arts are way more in need than one might expect, many ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. `` The Ecstasy Of Influence `` By Jonathan Allen Lethem New ideas come from everywhere whether they are from people, places, books, animals, or even come from something as meaningless as silence; however, we don't just get new ideas out of the blue, we have to be inspired and influenced by those elements to create new art. Unlike Plato's Ion, which states that God speaks through the artists, Lethem's The Ecstasy of Influence: A plagiarism; projects that inspiration comes from the influence of our surroundings which is the key to creation. Jonathan Allen Lethem, a modern American essayists, writes the article in which he talks about how some artists see plagiarism as a wrong doing or stealing. Lethem disagrees with those artists' point of view. He writes, "most artists are converted to art by art itself. Finding one's voice isn't just an emptying and purifying oneself of the words of others but an adopting and embracing of filiations, communities, and discourses" (Lethem 87). This means that there is an inspiration behind every artist's work. The inspiration could come from something as simple as expanding another artists' works. It is normal for an artist to be inspired by other artists, and then invents a work of art that is similar to his/her inspiration. For instance, Lethem gives an example of how South Park, the TV show, was inspired by Rankin/Bass and Charlie Brown Christmas specials. Most of the time, plagiarism could lead to a great work of creativity. Today, almost all work of art, whether they are movies, books, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Rosa Parks Research Paper When somebody says the word artist, you would commonly think of a painter or sculptor. The definition of an artist is a person that is skilled at a particular task or occupation. This definition applies to everyone and one of the utmost memorable artists is Rosa Parks. Rosa Parks was black and lived in a world where segregation was about and she took it into her own hands to make a stand. Rosa Parks is an artist because she started the largest movement against racial segregation and her actions have left an enduring legacy for the civil rights movement. Rosa Parks initially launched the largest movement against segregation when she refused to move from her original seat. On the other hand, some people argue that Rosa Parks initiated violence. People say that the only thing Rosa parks did was increase the acts of violence. Even though she was the one who initiated the act which led to destruction it wasn't all bad. She also changed the world for the better and introduced a new way of living without segregation. • 15. Main Role In The Hunger Artist The hunger artist is a story that can be viewed in many aspects in life. Many people want to leave this earth knowing that they accomplish some type of dream, goal, task or some type of legacy. His dream was to be the most phenomenal faster the world has ever seen, even in his death. Besides the dream, the hunger artist wanted nothing more than the people to be proud of what he was doing and the praise from the spectators. There is no excitement to this task, but this dream that the hunger artist had was a phenomenal one indeed. In the Hunger Artist there were symbols that play a significant role in encouraging the reader to fall into deep thought, they are spectators, the cage, and the clock. The main character of the story is the hunger artist. He is a professional faster that thrives off the attention of the people. He wants nothing more to prove to the spectators that he is the greatest faster of all time. While proving that is, he the greatest faster of all time he is in a cage with a straw–lined floor. In the Emily Carr exhibit there were multiple artists that had their own style and each was unique. My personal favorites in that gallery where; Artist: Emily Carr. Painting: Shore and forest (Cordova bay) My depiction: The dark oil paint on the paper kinda give this calming landscape a very rugged look to it. Almost unsettling. Lots of movement with the oil paint. Artist: Lawren S. Harris. Painting: From berg lake, evening, #4 in the "sketches of mount Robson" series. My depiction: I appreciate this one for it's multitude of tones. Though it is a monotone painting it is beautiful done in the day that the changes of color are melded together very well and that all the shedding is done marvelously. The mountain seemed so perfect and untouched. Tones and clean lines with oil paint has always been a struggle of mine. Artist: Emily Carr. Painting: Forest scene. • 19. An Analysis Of Tolstoy ' Tolstoy 's ' The Sigh ' Tolstoy says, "people come to understand that the meaning of eating lies in the nourishment of the body, only when they cease to consider that the object of that activity is pleasure. And it is the same with regard to art. People will come to understand the meaning of art only when they cease to consider that the aim of that activity is beauty, that is to say, pleasure." (Tolstoy, 7). The "nourishment" good art provides is capability to infect others with the emotions that the artist had when he expressed the art. This "nourishment" stems from the idea that one must have the feelings of the artist transmitted to them, and if they experience similar feelings as the artist then it is true art and the observer/viewer is nourished. This "hunger", this fundamental human need, which good art satisfies is the need for man to be united. This lack of connection leaves humans hungry for real connection with those around them, connections that are not tainted with corruption, but art that makes all men feel united and same as one another. "Art begins when one person, with the object of joining another or others to himself in one and the same feeling, expresses that feeling by certain external indications." (Tolstoy, 9). The first bite of food to satisfy the hunger begins with expression of an idea that evokes emotion in the artist, which also evokes emotion from people around the artist. • 21. Public Art in the United Arab Emirates Public art is the art that has been planned to of being staged in public and its usually outdoor, it can be carved sculpture, cast or built or painted. What's special about public art is the way how it is made, the place where it is and what meaning it has behind it. Public art can express community value or describe a cultural related point, and its placed in public for everyone to see. Public art is a reflection of how the artist sees the world and response to his time and space. In this essay, I want to review about how the public art reflects the traditional culture. As an example of public art in the UAE, is the camel caravan. It is a sculpture of a camel that is painted with colorful different shapes. There is several camels caravan located around the place, and each of them has a different unique style. I believe that public art should be reflective of traditional culture. The camel caravan also has a reflection on the cultural side that camels are very common and a known animal in the UAE. Public art strategies help to uncover and enhance the implied identity, the value, the unique meaning and the character of the social and physical form of a community or a society, the community's character and sense of space reflects this identity. The person's sense of space always develops over time while reflecting the shade of his social values around and within the community. The character of a community will be reflected by its cultural narrative space of a place. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 23. Meghann Riepenhoff Research Papers This past Friday, I attended an art exhibition at the Memphis College of Art where I saw great paintings from Meghann Riepenhoff, along with Tim Andrews. The show consisted of both their paintings in separate sections, they were the only two artist. Personally, I'd say the show combined did not have a theme, but as separate it did. When I first stepped in the building, I was welcomed by greeters, the event coordinator and Riepenhoff's paintings. Her painting's made me think the overall event theme was about the beach and waves, but that was not the case. While I continued walking and observing the painting's I was greeted into Mr. Andrews's exhibit, which consisted of self– portraits. Both artist having paintings placed in the same space didn't take away from one another's paintings. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Viewing the paintings, it seem to me very realistic, as if I were actually standing in front of an incoming wave. I stepped closer to the paintings and I could see the very small details that gave them the realistic effect, despite the use of the cyanotype chemicals working with nature combined. Each work of art presented by her was processed and completed in Bainbridge Island, Washington area. Although I deeply enjoyed all of her unique art, my favorite cyanotype piece is "Littoral Drift #275". What I most loved about this particular piece was the fact that it was a more so closer, deeper view into the wave. The sides of the landscape were both dark whereas toward the center it was all type of blue shades coming together and the splat of white making it one great wave cyanotype. As I finished viewing her section of art work, the meaning I took from it work is simple, nature especially the beach is beautiful with great force. • 25. Louis Xiv's Influence On Modern Art "Every great work of art has two faces, one toward its own time and one toward the future, toward eternity." Art in and of itself is a reflection of the ideals and concepts promoted during the time it was conceived in, and serves as a historical litmus test as to which periods it draws inspiration from; however, as Daniel Barenboim states in his quote above, impactful art that resonates with the human spirit lasts beyond its time. Throughout history, art serves as the visual manifestation of the power and wealth of those who patronize the medium and by extension the period's culture. More importantly, however, art can serve as a lasting mark and legacy for those who desire to leave a visual reminder of their strength while they were living. ... The Sun King, nicknamed as such because of his permeating influence throughout France, attained what was perhaps the most flagrant and impressive demonstration of power and wealth up to his time through his residence: the Palace of Versailles. At its completion, Versailles was Louis XIV's call to the world, making its presence felt with the attention to detail and decadence directed towards all of Europe. The exterior was worked on by French architect Louis Le Vau, who melded the best of the previous classical Renaissance style with the burgeoning French Baroque of curved, complex facades with high–reaching domes and twisted columns. Under the direction of interior designer Charles Le Brun, the interior of Versailles defined French Baroque by its sheer scope and decadence, most notably with the Hall of Mirrors, where he extrapolates the illusionistic quality found in the Baroque style and enlarges the room through a series of inset mirrors reflecting the arched windows opposite them. Once populated with gold and silver chairs upholstered with red brocade and other opulent ornamentation, the Hall of Mirrors was one of many rooms used to host festivals open to the notable European figures of his time as well as salons, where hosts provided a platform for leisurely intelligent discussion. Given the unparalleled extravagance of the palace, it would be overwhelming to a viewer were it not for the vast park designed by Andre Le Notre, whose careful composition of vistas throughout the formal gardens provide a rational and beautiful frame to the ornamented palace. The gardens also reinforce the concept of Louis XIV's power, extending the idea of his governance to even the natural world that surrounds him. Truly, through the manifestation ... • 27. Analysis Of Kahlo, My Favorite Artist Of All Times For this assignment I decided to choose this piece of art work because Frida Kahlo is one of my favorite artists of all times. Her art work always spoke to me in many ways. Through her paintings she is letting us feel and acknowledge her experience's and struggles. While visiting the museum one of my favorite parts was being able to see most of her famous paintings face to face. Being able to see those paintings so close made me admired her work even more. B) In this painting the artist uses the element of line continuously. As we look closer into the artwork we see a variety of lines such as actual and implied lines, Horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines. The lines that are most noticeable are the horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines. Vertical lines mainly come from the different buildings in this painting, buildings such as skyscrapers and churches. Both horizontal and vertical lines are connecting each symbolic symbol in the painting, as this painting mainly consists of different images put together to represent culture, politics and Identity. C) Shapes are flat. If you take a shape and give it three dimensions, it has volume. A three dimensional form has volume. VOLUME can be stimulated in a two–dimensional work such as paintings. In Frida's painting My Dress Hangs there, we see both three and two dimensional volumes. A perfect example of three– dimensional volume is the image of the Washington monument. • 29. Controversy Of Advertisement Argumentative Essay In today's society the only way to become a famous musician is to have good music that fans will like. One of the ways fans learn about an artist's new songs is through ads. A fan would be watching TV or listening to music on their smartphone, and an ad might pop up with their favorite artist's new song. The fan would most likely wonder what is was and download it. Artists should continue to allow their music to be placed in advertisements because it helps them earn money, and it can help them get recognized. First, using ads can help the artist earn more money. Some artists only make U.S. minimum wage for their music, so advertising and making corporate deals can really help. A band called Oh, Sleeper is an example. "Out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... People resented the idea that an album they didn't ask for was forced on them, likening the album to "musical spam," and the reputations of both U2 and Apple were damaged." (Source 2 Paragraph 8) Although doing this can hurt the reputation of artists it can help them as well. They can earn way more money, get famous quickly and live a good life. It is a risk artists are willing to take because making music is their livelihood not just their hobby. To conclude, signing off songs, albums, and making commercials can be a risk, there are way more benefits than cons. Besides if an artist doesn't want his or her music on streaming apps, they can just tell those companies to stop streaming their music, which may increase sales of downloads of an artist's music since it is not being streamed. Gehrke balances both options by opening the gaze of the audience to witness the life of the artist but also the process, aftermath, and desire to paint. Gehrke respects the creative process of the painters, but also gives voice to the torments of the artists, their subjects, themes of death, life and love. The book as an entire collection gages the immediacy of art and time, because life is but a fleeting glimpse of fractured memories and light. • 33. Exploring Social Patterns in the Renaissance Through Fashion Exploring Social Patterns in the Renaissance Through Fashion Fashion reflects the attitudes of a society more than any other art form. Like art, fashion is a material record of the ideals that swayed the nations at the time of their creation. Through examining the styles, and tastes of a particular era, we can realize where the interests and priorities of a time lie. As Frank Parsons wrote in his 1920 study, The Psychology of Dress, "There is surly no better field in which to trace the devious paths of human thought than in that of clothes, where man has ever given free play to self expression, in a way which, thought not always a credit to his intelligence, is yet quite true to his innermost self, whether he will acknowledge it or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Clothing expression in medieval Europe, like all other forms of artistic expression at this time, found it's biggest outlet in the ecclesiastical field, as this was where all the money was to be found. The churches employed all the best builders and craftsmen in creating their great cathedrals, and art works. In clothing, the church dictated what sorts of materials were made, and brought into the area, what colors were in use, and what styles were used, influencing the secular as well as ecclesiastical dress. In the feudal system only great Barons and their families wore fine cloths, as clothing was a symbol of rank and importance. Each family made their own clothes, so fashion was very individualistic in style, and each family had their own characteristics. With an increase of wealth in the area, and the beginning of the crusades, new elaborate styles were introduced into the scene. Fashions became strange, and grotesque in nature reflecting the constant struggles and wars of the time, as fantasy and the grotesque generally influence social costumes accompanying times of war. Women in their headgear actually wore huge horns, like an ox, that towered above them and supported a veil, and men's shoes were peaked and extended six inches in front of them for common men, and a foot for gentlemen, and two feet for noblemen. The church frowned on the extreme finery, painted faces, and low–cut dresses of the women. But as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. Art As A Form Of Self-Expression Is art a form of self–expression from the artist to their audience? Self–expression is defined as, "the expression of one's feelings, thoughts, or ideas, especially in writing, art, music, or dance." (English Oxford Dictionary). The source of inspiration for art is unknown for certain, but it is commonly believed that it comes from inside the artist, based on their life lessons and experiences. If the inspiration comes from within, then artists are expressing themselves through their art, thus art is self–expression. There are innumerous forms of art, from writing to dancing; singing to creating a drawing, public speaking and everything in–between. A person who is whistling is expressing how they are feeling through the notes that they hit. Someone who is drawing can use darker colors, such as browns and blacks to give off an eerie tone. Does that mean that all art is self–expression? No, not all art is self–expression, maybe it isn't self–expression at all. This leads to the debate over whether art is self–expression if the inspiration comes from an outside source, rather than from within. When an artist attempts to express their self–feelings through their art, a special emotion is evoked if the art comes from deep within. There is a distinguishable difference between art that comes from within and art that is inspired by an outside source. Plato believes that artists are "possessed" by someone or something, rather than their inspiration coming from inside. This means that art would not be self–expressional, as it isn't coming from within the artist's mind, but rather an exterior source. In Plato's book, Ion, Socrates explains to Ion, that: "...speaking well about Homer; it's a divine power that moves you, as a 'Magnetic' stone moves iron rings." (Plato, Ion, 18). In this analogy, Socrates is attempting to explain to Ion that his ability to be well–versed in the study of Homer is not due to his own inspiration and aspirations, but rather because of a divine power that gives him this ability. In the text, Plato talked about how Ion would light up when talking about Homer, showing that he may be 'possessed' by Homer. Ion is drawn in towards Homer as a fish is to the hook with bait on it. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Growing up, she said that her favorite artist was Arnold Friburg, a well known artist whose work is realistic and reminiscent of the Renaissance painters. Arguably his most famous painting is "The Prayer at Valley Forge," depicting George Washington, kneeling by his horse. Friburg lived near where Gala grew up and she saw him as a local rockstar. Later, when Gala gained her own fame for "The Ten Virgins," she sent Friburg an invitation to hear her give a lecture about her art. To her surprise, he came. She shook the hand of her childhood hero and he invited her to tour his personal artist studio, a "huge, gargantuan" barn full of 10–12 ft canvases. He had just finished painting a commissioned piece of Prince Charles, and it was still in the studio for her to see. As she got older, she only collected more and more favorite artists. She grew to admire Howard Terpening, an artist famous for his slightly impressionistic oil paintings of Native Americans and for his fantastic portrayal of sunlight. Gala says that his work is at once realistic and magical. She had studied his work extensively, right down to the way he frames his paintings, when she happened to meet him at an art show in Sedona, AZ. • 49. The Artist And The Work "Everything you can imagine is real." There are many visual artists, composers and writers we could pass on the street and never recognize them. Yet we are still curious. There is something about artmaking that draws us to it but it seems so foreign to our own lives. We want to know more about these seemingly special people who can accomplish these unique things. We can 't help but conflate the two. The artist and the work. Well, to some extent, an artist 's work is always about the artist. How can it be otherwise, since they have no other source but themselves? When we look or hear art, we only see and hear artist, because that is all we can see it 's all we have to work with. The problem with art is, because we love it so much, we put the artists who created it on pedestals and we believe they cannot fail because, in some corner of our mind, we've formed a relationship with them and their product, and for us to discover them as imperfect shatters the illusion. We have made a god in our mind where there is only a human, as flawed and imperfect as ourselves, but what that piece of art they created gave us, in that moment in time, was pure love, joy and satisfaction. The art didn't do anything wrong to you. The art shouldn't be punished. Say what you will of the artist, but the product they produced and that you love shouldn't be demeaned if it made you happy for one moment in time. Can we separate the art from the artist? Neoclassicism was a way for artists to display their wish to return to meaningful art, to escape the frivolity of landscapes and still life paintings, and paint something that had a moral, educational or inspirational value to the viewer. Neoclassical art was an attempt to return knowledge and purity back to art. Neoclassicism was mainly focused on Greek and Roman arts and stories of the classical era with some new advancement. It was a revival of antiquity. In Pompeo ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In each of these works you can clearly see a loving gaze between subjects. In Diana and Cupid, Diana is gazing so lovingly and playfully at Cupid, while Cupid is staring at his bow his hand is placed upon her leg for support while reaching for it. In The Lamentation, only an angel is touching the body of Jesus, holding his hand, but the other main figure in the painting has her hands clasped together and is gazing at Jesus in a loving yet mournful way. The use of color in the paintings can easily be compared and contrasted. Both works are fairly repetitive in their color use, and the colors chosen are clear indicators for where the artist wants the viewer to look. For example in Diana and Cupid her clothing is a bright vibrant red, and while there are many other beautiful colors throughout the painting none are quite as vibrant as the red used. This clearly shows that the human figure is the main subject of the art. In The Lamentation the use of color is a little different, it would seem that the artist used color on all of the other subjects except for Jesus' naked body which in turn I believe makes Jesus stand out from the picture, because there is color used everywhere but on Jesus you focus in on him while all of the other subjects are kind of blending together. In each of the paintings the artist also uses the shadowing technique. The use of light and dark is captivating in The Lamentation; a lot of it has to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 66. Hito Steyerl Vs Francisco De Goya In this essay, a comparison and contrast of Hito Steyerl (born 1966) with that of Francisco de Goya (1746–1828) work of art will be made. These artists have been selected to demonstrate that they both can be defined as revolutionary artists but within separate art periods. To demonstrate this, it must first be defined what is revolutionary art and how does it affect us? The history of art has gone through constant changes from movement to movement, with ideas being portrayed differently. Revolutionary art is something that people take notice the many years after being presented. It leaves a lasting impression no matter the genre or means to make it. Bits and pieces are usually missing or put in odd places, or mixed in are outtakes from a commercial spy films. Steyerl rejects using a single idea or insist on a point of view. In its place we get art through her films as a moral thinking progress. Her artwork closes the gap from theory and practice, while merging the line between cinema and fine arts. • 68. The Simple The Better By Wranke Analysis The Simple the Better In a place filled of talented people, Italy was the location in which performance was vital in a rich or important person's life. Wranke's article explains how important it was to have talent, in Italy, during the renaissance. The renaissance is known as the rebirth of painting, sculpting, and almost everything we could possibly think off. During the renaissance, most artist had a common enemy known as the court, which was ruled by the most wealthy and powerful families in Italy. The court was in charge of one's position in society. When an individual would be born in a royal family, that individual was able to experience life to a new level. "Three chamberlains will never suffice in dressing our lord..." (pg. 23). In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The lords preferred having a good time to relax rather than having a piece of art been done in a complicate way. This lead to the point in which artists preferred to be ranked together with philosophers, because "painters preferred the intellectually elite status of poets and philosophers..." (pg. 28). Even though artists would have had a poor quality lifestyle, for them it was a lot better than been a buffone because a buffone was a career that lacked respect. The overall purpose of Warnke's article is the explanation of the financial status that one could expect as a painter, singer and buffone, during the renaissance time. The author explains his thesis thoroughly, but the reader ends with more questions regarding the situation that performers would have. The struggle of having work and been paid not only for the need of money but for the social status as an artist. In this article, the point of view is that as an artist in the category of paint, doing something that was less time consuming would leave an individual with better life opportunities, rather than an artist doing complex frescos and putting their soul into ... • 70. Edward Elgar Research Paper The life of an artist can be a difficult one. Many artists produce work for their own enjoyment or because it is their passion, but some are lucky enough to get paid for their work, enough to make it a legitimate source of income. Edward Elgar, a composer in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, was one of these artists. Although he composed music for enjoyment, he was popular enough in his day to make a living from his music, and his reputation continued to grow after his death, making his work a valued aspect of British culture today. Even though he was in the limelight during his lifetime, Elgar could put his heart and soul into his music, which ultimately reflected his mood and the mores of the Victorian and Edwardian eras he lived through. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The author George Bernard Shaw wrote, "Elgar is carrying on Beethoven's work" (7). In 1917, Daniel Gregory Mason wrote, "Sir Edward Elgar... is surely one of the great men of our time" (288). This was after the First World War when Elgar's work was seen as inspiring patriotism. Much of the literature on Elgar's work notes its contrast to other music at the time, which may explain why it took so long for Elgar to become popular. In 1957, musician Ralph Vaughan Williams called Elgar's work, "quite new without being eccentric" when referencing a performance of the Enigma Variations, originally performed in 1899 (Williams et al. 302). In 1917, Daniel Gregory Mason said Elgar's work is "an escape from habit to initiative, from formality to eloquence, from insularity to cosmopolitanism" (289). Elgar lacked the formal training of many of his contemporaries, and this seems to have given him a greater freedom in his composition. Mason wrote, "But the important point is that however much... he may fall back into the formula of his school, he has at his best left them far behind" (289). Sir Ernest Bullock noted that "much of his music is distinguished by a characteristic individuality" (Williams et al. 306). Most of his training instead came from experience with music and instruments. As a result, critics often describe Elgar's work as having "orchestral ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 74. The Importance Of Art What is art exactly? Art can come in my shapes and forms. In some cases, art can be used for entertainment purposes, or they can expressed through a debate or argument. It can be personal, for example like perspectives on the way the world is seen, expressing one's thoughts, emotions, and desires. Artistic creativity is widely common amongst different cultural practices, and express beauty within inherited ideas passed down from generation to generation. Artistic expression is needed so that can cultures and democratic societies can function properly. It is crucial for humans in a collective manner to be exposed to the cultural diversity, and in this way also help maintain it. Arts education such as in the subjects of music, dance, theatre, and visual arts are essential to society and are a part of this cultural heritage and cultural awareness that is needed. Throughout the years, art has been depicted as communication where an artistic put his feelings into a portrait or a song. However, since everybody is unique, the opinions that they have upon the subject can be differentiate from the artist's mindset. But, if it is expressed as obvious, even the language may not be the same then mutual relatable feelings can shared with the artist. For example, I listen to Korean pop, even though the lyrics are in korean, the beat of the song and the overall tone help me understand the message that the artist may be trying to convey. Art connects us globally, because it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 76. The Art Of A Radio Station I've walked into enough stuffy, fancy art galleries to last a lifetime. Finally, today I was lucky enough to wander into Stellar Gallery in San Marco. The building looks aged out front, with fading print on the overhangs, and various pieces of art displayed in the windows below. The door is simple and opens with a soft chime of bells, giving it a small business, intimate–type feeling when hearing the sound. Once you're inside, a radio station playing today's hits, rather than elevator music. Sounds emit softly over the speakers in the main entrance gallery, just loud enough though to be heard throughout the adjoining rooms. The interior is clean enough, no dust or dirt to effect the art pieces scattered around the space. Standing in the main entry, the doorways are decorated in a grand sense with crown molding and Roman style archways over the doorframes. The walls are a soft, pastel green that pair well with the white trim and dark flooring. The color is perfect and doesn't steal the show from the artwork hanging. The art is displayed in many different ways, in multiple positions and on different surfaces depending on the piece. Paintings and framed work are hung all over the walls, leaned on walls, and some in stacks; occasionally organized by artist, and then some sporadically placed. The sculptures are placed on pedestals and tables scattered throughout the venue, most done by the same local artist, Leeland Brewsaugh. Brewsaugh's sculptures were all of birds native to ... • 78. The Conflicts Between Seeing Nature As A Medium Of Art Imagine hiking and standing upon a mountain top and just basking in the beauty of the scenery around. Some people consider nature as the purest form of natural expression. Some artists consider nature as a medium of art. But what is a medium of art? Art is expressed to be man made, a form of human expression, a tale of beauty or tragedy. The world is a beautiful place filled with unique creatures, beautiful scenery and an overwhelming sense of power and importance. But a medium is considered as materials used to help express the viewpoint of the artist. In this evaluation argument one will see the conflicts between seeing nature as a contributor to art. where if it can be used as a material that inspires the artist, can be used to express emotion, and help support the point of view of the art work. One would think that nature would have nothing to do with art. But it seems that art can be found centered upon this idea. Nature is used in many different forms either to build a giant building or to just exists and to be admired. In many cases trees and other natural elements are used as art supplies. One can view the use of nature being used as a medium of art. Using the materials as a source of expressing the viewpoint of the artists. Some disapprove of this viewpoint, some people suggest that art is to conceptual to be related or influenced by nature. Some people also state that nature is based of evolution and science not on the concepts of feelings ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
