Art Is An Art Essay
Art is created to make feel you something. Whether it is disgust, rage, devastation or joy, as long as
it is the artist's deliberation, you may call it art, Art is something which is meant to evoke emotion. It
is a representation of what the artist sees. It could be realistic or abstract. Art is a diverse range of
human activities and the products of those activities, usually involving imaginative and technical
skills. Everything you do is an art in some way, like the way you perform an activity is an individual
art. What you see and understand from it is also an art, looking at things from different perspective.
When you talk, how you talk is also an art. So overall there is no such thing as what cannot be an art
as everything is an art itself. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All can be summed up in a word sincerity. The artist should be impelled by an inner need to express
his feeling. Now, just as the evolution of knowledge proceeds by truer and more necessary
knowledge displacing previous knowledge, so the evolution of feeling proceeds through art feelings
more kind and needful to humanity replace the older feelings. That is the purpose of art. In every
age there exists an understanding of the meaning of life which represents the highest level which has

Social Responsibility Of Art In Art, Art And Art
Art has been around for thousands of years. It is a way of expressing oneself and making a personal
connection to the world around us. Art is much more than a brush stroking against a canvas–it is a
part of our imagination come to life in the form a film, drawing, music, and literature. Because of
how much art can impact society, we must have a social responsibility as a community to enforce
the learning and practice of the arts. Art can be used as a way of reaching out to preach about racial
prejudices. "Excuse Me, Can I see Your ID?" is an art exhibit created by Lonnie Lee. Lee is an
Asian–American woman who designed this museum as means of showing the harsh truth Asian–
Americans face on the daily. ""Excuse Me, Can I See Your ID? is not intended for the white gaze."
(Frank). This exhibit shows what the white–dominated art world does not. Each piece of work tells
the story of different individuals and their struggles of what it is like conforming in America where
Asians are viewed as "perpetual foreigners". From one medium to another, the Black Arts
Movement, which lasted from 1965 to 1975, was a great impact on society. Following the
assassination of Malcolm X, black people came together to protest their liberty. While it had the
most effect in theatre and poetry, African Americans spoke their minds through literature, visual arts,
and music. Not only reaching cultural recognition and economic success, the Black Arts Movement
brought about modern–day hip hop and spoken word.
The arts have a way of bringing a community together by having people discuss a certain topic or
controversy currently going on in the world. The arts open minds and hearts to something previously
overlooked or bashed on–it breaks barriers. "When we sit in that darkened theatre or walk through a
well–lit gallery, it opens us to experiences different from our own–pasts and futures we'll never
experience in our lifetimes. It opens us to compassion. It opens us to dialogue, new ideas, and new
understanding." (Robinson). In cities filled with crime, violence, and poverty, artists Dre Urhahn and
Jeroen Koolhaas were able to bring a community of people together. These two men traveled all the
way to favelas–slums in Brazil–to transform

Art And Art
Art is a way for not only everyday people but also artists to show their feelings and their passions.
People can be affected in many, and different ways, through art. Even though art can be interpreted
in different ways it can still have valuable meanings to almost everyone in their own special ways.
Throughout time art has followed the people closely. It has fed on, and even publicized the state in
which society was in. This is not saying that art can't differ from the theme of society, but more
times than not it usually relates to society in at least some small way. Society and Art can differ over
the era in time. Art helps people to build their ideas and reshape their imaginations. Art can
contribute to pass on the way thing were over different time periods. Drawings, painting, and
sculpture, has been known not right from the earliest starting point as confirm by the relics of the
past. Be that as it may, positively, innovation has made it workable for new types of gear to be
exploited and for new mediums to be utilized. There is additionally the alternative of computerized
craftsmanship that will permit individuals to work with hues and pictures even without the most
severe preparing to make the best magnum opuses. Numerous innovative changes happened amid
the Modernist time frame. These included photography, the development of the shading range, and
so on. In the postmodern period, changes included PC–controlled photography, advanced media, and
so on. Things like

Art : The World Of Art
The world of art is a bridge, a bubble that connects and interacts with many aspects of the world and
the lives of others very effectively. Arts reach into the eyes, the heart, and the soul of a human and
bring out a multitude of thoughts, emotions, ideas, analysis, desires, and this list of what art is
capable of doing goes on. It is important to recognize that art cannot be null and void from the
aspects of anyone's life, and exclusion of art is simply not an option, it would be one of the most
difficult ideas to put into practice. Behind every person, be they great or be they mediocre, there is a
path of art to be followed that has inspired them, and led them to where they find themselves in the
present. Life must occur with art in it somewhere, and throughout life, art will spring forth from the
minds of those who have been touched by that which came before them. The arts and creation are
set in such a way, and have seemingly always been set in such a way that they cannot exist without
emotion. Emotion is in turn fueled in new ways by art, by that interpretation of another's emotions.
Art undoubtedly stimulates emotion and expression in the human. Here is a comical idea, "every
man is a poet at heart and that the last poet will not perish till the last man does" (Freud 437). This
sounds rather idealistic, but there is more to it than that. Is every man a poet? Certainly not, at least
not in the sense of putting pen to paper and creating astounding works of writing, but

symbolism. Lascaux are particular paintings made thousands of years ago in caves. These were
considered to be the first paintings that people ever made. People would make the paint from
different pigments such as minerals and other natural resources. Many of these paintings were made
far inside the caves in the mountains. When looking at these paintings you can see that most of these
consisted of animals such as cows, horses, bison, and birds. The colors within this art are very
natural colors. They would consist of a lot of browns, reds, and black. Animals were depicted in
these paintings because people had a close connection between animals and spirits. Lascaux may
have been the first of the paintings but animals were even painted thousands of years ago. This
amazing artwork of a hare was made by a German painter. He specialized on the art of watercolor.

Art And Art
There are numerous ways in which art "moves" human beings. For centuries, the effect of art has
been theorized and questioned. Through my colloquium, I hope to grapple with the ways in which
art, made within and for a specific moment and culture, is able to live beyond its historical discourse
and still express a profound, multivalent sense of meaning. Looking at philosophical, religious,
sociological, and political texts from ancient time to the present, I will investigate the pressing
question, what power does the image hold in society? I will explore the ways people have both
thought about and used visual culture through history and across the world. Additionally, I seek to
analyze how the societies that produced them can be recognized within the work. Using the texts on
my booklist, I will explore the impact of the image through a range of intellectual and disciplinary
traditions. I will start by examining the hopes and fears of art's role in society, through the lens of
the Bible and ancient philosophers like Plato and Aristotle. Iconoclasm, or the destruction of
religious icons and other images, has been prominent since the creation of the Bible. The ancient
world abounded with warnings against specific Biblical images. What is it that they feared about art
and representation? The ten commandments, written out in the Hebrew Bible, begins with God
commanding, "I am the Lord your God". Within this first commandment, we begin to see the
prohibition against graven images

My Art And Art : My Education Of Art
I have never really had any great love for art, but I have never thought it could have any good effect
on me. I've known since I was little that not just the big things in museums that cost around $5000
were art, and that even the little things I would make an arts and crafts in my old school could be
considered art. However, I never imagine myself as an artist of any kind and always considered art
as just something pretty to look at. My education of art isn't really anything impressive, starting at
my first elementary school where I had both art and music in my kindergarten class, though it might
have been first grade I can't quite remember, and I wouldn't have another until my high school years
because it was mandatory. Though I had never really thought about to highly, this paper and the few
classes I've had in fine arts have made me think differently. Architecture and videogames have had a
great impact on my life and have even given me a goal to work after. To start on what I mean,
architecture is something that I have been obsessed with for many years, and perhaps I didn't even
realize it. I have always wanted a grand log cabin house and not just any old house, I want to design
and build it myself. I have never lived in a house I truly liked, in fact none of my known family have
either, except an aunt but I would never live with her. I have always lived in a trailer and although I
love my home that I have lived in for most of my life, is always had problems. Interior

Art And Censorship In Art
Art is supposed for expressing feeling and the visualizing the feeling or thoughts of the artists.
Censorship is the suppression of content, which is defined as harmful, politically incorrect or
sensitive by the authority (cited in Merriam, n.d.). Art and censorship have been connected for a
long period of time together. In the recent society, the censorship on artworks is one of the most
severe issues when it comes to censorship and the problem happens internationally. Since every
individual has the right to define what is acceptable for him/her or not, instead of the government or
others, Art should not be censored. The censorship on Art may influence the freedom of Creativity‬
of the artist; the right of the general public to view different topics of artworks and censorship on
political Art may affect the human rights and freedom of speech.
First, censorship may obstruct the Freedom of Creativity‬of the artist, which will affect the

Since Arts is a form for people to express feelings and visualize their idea, it should be individual
and personal. Hence, creativity is one the most essential elements during making artworks.
Unfortunately, the censorship of Art still exists worldwide and the situation is severe. It not only
obstructs the creativity of artist that poses a threat to the development in Art industry, but also
exploits the right of the viewers to see the artworks. For instance, the censorship on Art that comes
from political reasons, which may affect the freedom of speech and human right in the countries.
The public concern for personal safety and human rights of the artists is needed. Also, it is essential
for citizens to have a proper attitude of viewing the artwork. Hence, education is an important way
for children and teenagers to build up a correct manner to appreciate the artwork that may contain

Beauty : The Different Means Of Art, Art And Art
Beauty is many things such as personality and appearance, but it can be used in subjects such as art.
Art has different standards of beauty. According to Oxford Living Dictionary, beauty is "a
combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially
the sight." Beauty has been studied and analyzed for years. As humans, we are attracted to beauty,
but what makes something beautiful? There are many different types of art that is considered beauty,
not only paintings and drawing but poetry, music and nature.
Art is not always seen as beautiful; it can be quite ugly and vague. When art is considered ugly, it
can still be beautiful. "The modern conception of art leads us to suppose that meaning must be
grasped either in terms of the artist's intentions, the mens auctoris, or in terms of the feelings and
experiences aroused by the work in the audience." (Guignon) The beauty in this type of art is not
necessarily on the picture it can be the story behind the art. Artists want to tell a story with the art
and show beauty in where the audience can understand. People usually do not understand how a
piece of art that is so unattractive and confusing but can have such beauty. The beauty we do not
understand is deeper than the human eye. We see each other appearance and sometime do not think
anything else about it, but there is always something below the surface. Art can be ugly or beautiful.

While visiting the SCAD museum of Art I came across an extraordinary piece of art that caught my
eye.You Diserve it mama!! by, Aaron Fowler this art piece caught my eye for many reasons. One
being it was a tribute to his mom.Secondly I liked the way the artist used everyday items to create
this piece. The Art piece was very visual with the mom cooking and cleaning Fowler used cloths for
her clothing and newspaper cutouts for the pots and pans she was using to cook.He used iron boards
to display the mom and husband in their house, the husband looks as he is walking in from
somewhere with their dog next to him.Fowler was very creative with the way he designed the piece
the everyday items and the iron board had the feels of home and the way he betrayed the house with
a fireplace and a painting above it. The scenery looks as if its a real house with it looking messy and
very decorative. Aaron Fowler is an amazing artist greatly inspired by Jacob lawrence.Fowler is just
now an uprising artist from moving into his east Harlem studio in early 2015 and his work soon

Art And Art In The Renaissance
Art, drama, and music have always been shaping forces in society as they explore a variety of issues
unique to the society of the time. From the seventeenth through nineteenth centuries, the fine arts
shaped urban life in Venice, Italy and Edo, Japan. The art and music created represented the artists,
the citizens and also depicted the attitudes and interests of society at the time. Furthermore, it
impacted the city life, in economic, social and political ways. Exploring and comparing fine art
between these two cities will provide a glimpse into these societies.
Venice in the late Renaissance period was one of the most peaceful and tolerant societies within
Europe. The city itself was not known for its political fervour, but for their thriving fine arts. The
uniqueness of the city coupled with the history of family guilds allowed for fine arts, such as music
and painting to become incredibly popular, to locals and tourists alike. The impact that art,
specifically painting, had on city life is seen through the popularity of Venetian painters throughout
the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Venice achieved much of its economic success due to
popular painters such as Sebastiano Ricci and Giovanni Battista Tiepolo. These men had their work
become exceedingly popular abroad which attracted visitors to the city to view their work and others
of the time. Tourists frequently visited the city due to the variety of entertainment available. Along
with painting, Venetian music was

Graffiti, monuments, structures, is it really art or a crime? In this reading, you will find examples

types of art forms. Arts can be beautiful yet cause conflict. When people are against it, they think of
the cost of repair when art is formed on buildings and businesses. As well when art is formed some
can see it as a form of grieving when major events happen but that can as well cause a bigger
conflict. This reading is showing you why art can be a negative impact on the world and many
around the world. Why is it art can cause conflict when its meant to be beautiful? While many can
see the beauty in the different forms of arts, many can understand why its causes conflict. In the
article "Battles over Yard Art Sometimes Turn Ugly" by "Buffalo Law Journal '" states that "some
art can cause conflict with others when its put up for public to see." This means that when the artist
of their own art creates something and put it up in the eye of public, many do not like that its

shows us examples on why issues can cause a raise in negativity against art. On page 498 in the

Art And Its Influence On Art
The essence of art is the union of inspiration, discovery, imagination, and power displayed and
interpreted through our five senses. Art cannot be demonstrated, nor identified by any absolute
source; no one can or ever shall deem any one piece or sense as "true art.". For art is individualized
and perceived differently by each being. The appreciation of what one brings to be experienced by
others classifies as art, for art is to be appreciated in different perspectives; whether it be in sorrow,
pleasure, comfort, or uneasiness. With the creation of art comes the birthplace of power. With the
beauty of art, comes its flexibility and willingness to bind itself to any form that you dictate. Art
presents itself through many mediums, and channels, which leads one to ask where art comes from,
and rooted. To some, art is a passion, to others an outlet, and to other, it is a breath of fresh air. In
ancient times, the Greeks carried that idea with them, believing that it was the Muses, a supernatural
power who worked through them, that caused many blossoming urges of inspiration (Brooks).
Inspiration is a core member in the process of creating art. At times people will be at crossroads, not
knowing what to produce or create, not sure what is to ensue. At those times, artists from the
Romantic Era believed that inspiration played a key role in expression. Thus their mentality was that
" art was an expression or revelation of truths that were inaccessible to the intellect alone"

The Importance Of Art In Art
Form & Content When going into an art exhibit one does not do justice to the artwork and their own
self if they cannot decipher the message trying to be conveyed via the artwork. The form is the gate
way and the eye is the key which helps to unlock the content or the meaning behind the great
symbolism for our minds to decipher. Art is a language and if you want to speak to anyone from any
generation just create something symbolic.
Black figure Greek amphora depicting Theseus and the minotaur:
The form of an Amphora is that of a large vase made to carry oil or wine; They are generally a
multi–purpose piece, not to be confused with a Krater. It is a decorated piece which served as a
reminder to the Greek of their heritage. The beautiful painting on it are known as the Black figures,
this was a common art form until it was replaced by the Red figures which were desired more than
the black figures the form of the black figures was "drawn on the natural clay of a vase in glossy
black pigment" (Britannica). Decorations on the amphora show a man slaying a creature that is half
bull and half man. Though the minotaur story is a myth back then it was history for the Greeks and
therefore the inclusion of the story onto the amphora can be considered imperial art or a way of
recording history in artwork. Similar to oral history where history is passed through stories whereas
this is passed through art.

Art Is An Imagination Of Art
Art is an imagination of an artistic, it is an innovational thinking of an artistic. Art can come in many
forms such as painting, drawing, music, theater, and much more. In every usable object that an
human being made on this planet, somewhere art is involved in it. In everything there is art for
example like an car we travel, bed we sleep in, even a cell phone is a design. So, every possible
object an human being using there is some kind of art involved in it. Many great artists had some
kind of speciality like creative skills, different imagination, they use their imagination in their art to
create something really unique and they described their emotions through art. Art can be used to
experience the world around us. Art has been used by humans since many ages to understand life,
emotion communications, and creative ideas to create something objective. Functions of art can be
like communication, it may help us imagine the derine, glorifies the state, celebrates war and
conquest. Many great artists like picasso who used visual art took it to another level, modern

Descriptive Art Of Art
A wave of nostalgia washed over me when I opened the door to the Durbin Gallery. Waxy, bright,
colorful, and detailed pieces ornamented the white–walled room. I smelt the same smell I did when I
was a student digging through my pencil box or when I was creating a colorful masterpiece during
my free time as a child. As I walked around the gallery and saw the pieces that the artist, Herb
Williams, created and displayed in his exhibit, Master Heist. I saw a can of Campbell's Chicken
Noodle Soup, a recreation of Vincent van Gogh's The Starry Night, word bubbles with text, and
many more. Williams brought me back to my childhood and amazed me within a matter of seconds
of entering the exhibit by using familiar objects to make familiar works of art. A thought I
continuously had while walking around the exhibit was of how cool it was to see how one individual
used crayons, something I've always correlated as a tool used to make art, to create art. The
individual pieces when observed from a distance looked to me to be a vibrant printed picture.
However, at a closer glance, it was easy to tell that it was not printed, and that it was composed of
an object that most all viewers can relate to in some way. The artist took crayons in their most
simplistic form, cylinders of wax, to a new level. The thousands of crayons were arranged by color
and placed specifically with either the point or flat ends facing outwardly to create depth and
movement in the pieces. This further pushed my

The Influence Of The Art Of Art
Art is an expression of free speech in a sense. However, some seek to influence and sensor an
individual's artistic expression. Socrates believes that banning certain works of art from his ideal
city is the best course of action for everyone. I will argue that Socrates is correct in his assessment
that controlling the flow of art is for the betterment of society. By banning certain works of art, the
souls of the young can be molded into an image that loves truth and honesty. Socrates says " So our
first task, it seems, is to supervise the storytellers: if they make up a good story, we must accept it; if
not, we must reject it." (Republic II, 377B). The objection is that such policies suppress the
individuals right to autonomy, and to decide for themselves what is virtuous and what is not.
Nonetheless, Socrates believes that restricting art is the best course of action. The influence of the
bad art and the good art will take effect in the mind of the individual throughout society. Such as the
stories of the gods, Socrates believes that the gods must be represented in a good light. Then kids
will emulate good–hearted behavior. If their mothers read stories about the horrible crimes the gods
committed, then the children might grow up to believe that such immorality is normal and
acceptable. If those children grow up to become adults and leaders of society, then society would
become callous and unjust. An unjust city is the antithesis of an ideal city, which is what Socrates

Art : Art As A Form Of Art
Personally, I have always felt diverted by the way that an artist applies different techniques to
express their emotions. For instance, a blue sky can either generate depression, faith, or confidence.
An artist usually conveys a message through their work of art. The concept of literacy can be
intriguing a few may be literate in academic subjects such as Math and English, but every person is
diverse, for many people have different forms of learning. The two essential points of literacy are to
tell a story and to convince your professors that you comprehend the material being taught.
Considering art is a form of literature that tells a story through colors and patterns, I have found that
art is my form of literacy.
Every art piece has a theme conveyed through a composition of multiple colors and an arrangement
of patterns. No art piece has a set definition, it can annotate multiple scenarios depending on the
way you view it. You can read art in countless ways you can find a deeper meaning to it or you can
simply just admire how the composition and the setup of each component of art become a story. The
setting of the work of art can explain a situation to the viewer, as well as make a statement or
demonstrate a position. For example, if you see a black and white portrait of an African American

Art Or Art Essay
The concept of art is very complex, and the question "What is art?" tends to not have a certain
answer. However, most agree that art is any form of expression, and this statement is what everyone
knows art as. For years, many people have gotten into heated discussions on whether video games
could be considered as art or not. Though these screen–based games have been legally recognized as
art, the topic remains a controversy. It is imperative to understand that video games have many
artistic qualities contained within them. These games contain many forms of art, including visual art,
music, and storytelling. Therefore, video games should be considered an art form because of the
artistic efforts that go into making them. Many video games have stories behind that provide a
backstory for the main character and his or her motivation. Video game creators make sure that their
games have complex stories that teach a lesson to the player. An example of this could be seen in
game Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is a game where the player has to
go on a quest with the main character's brother to save their dying father (Mellisonos, 1). A story
like this is not to simply be dismissed. It not only provides the player with a way to keep the player
occupied, but it also gives the player insight into his or her own life. The player is able to learn the
story through of the two brothers about the importance of selflessness. Video games that are choice–

Art In An Art World
Art is not just a picture on a wall or in a museum, art comes in many forms. It can be a song you just
heard, a video you watched, or a painting you saw in a gallery. Art can also be just text but no matter
what all forms of art grasp you in different ways and make your thoughts evolve to new distances.
Art can bring you feelings you did not think you had. This is what an art world truly is, a
combination of all the work that was put into the art and how it impacted people's lives. "Art worlds
consist of all the people whose activities are necessary to the production of the characteristic works
which that world, and perhaps others as well, define as art" (Becker, p. 34). Becker also says an art
world is the network of people whose cooperative activity, organized via their joint knowledge of
conventional means of doing things, produce the kind of art works that art world is noted for. An art
world is very similar to an industry but the art business is so small that the social factor isn't strong
enough to consider it an industry. The people who create the artwork will see the same people
interested in the same artwork at the same art shows, galleries, and other events year after year. In
order to have an art world and artwork in it, we need the artists to create art and an audience to critic
and appreciate the art. Without an audience there would be no variation in the types of art as the
audience has a huge influence in what artists make. For instance, without the reaction

Fan Art. The question whether fan art is legitimate art or not has become one of the most debatable
topics today, when people have become so crazy about some artists or characters that there are huge
events such as Comic Con which have a great deal with fan art. The artists produce works, which
can be in different forms like literature, music or visual art, then they want people to respect and
appreciate their work. And, that is what fans do. As a part of being the fans, they express their love
for the artists or the art and this is called Fan Art. But the artist who produced the original art wants

We should, at the least, accept their art as legitimate. According to me, if people go against fan art
and discourage it, there will be a time when creativity will end. We cannot end the imaginations of
fans. We just need to make sure that the rules are followed before creating or sharing a fan art. I'm
against the notion of not even considering fan art legitimate, because I think it is a great balance that
is very much required between the artist and the fans. If an artist has many fan arts about this work,
he gets more attention and more fame. The people producing Fan Art should keep a few things in
mind like doing research before uploading, stating that their work is not official, keeping it non–
commercial, not selling copies, and following any request made by the artist about their fan art. It
can be considered legal if made if it promotes the original artist like brand names in songs, or if not
being used to take away the market of the original artist or harming their image. So, I think it is
legitimate art if handled carefully. One of my favorite actors in his recent speeches, said "Art is
more important than the artist." I am a huge Taylor Swift fan and I wanted to prepare a video for one
of her songs but then I got to know about all the laws and so, I thought of making one and keeping it
to myself. I just made it for fun and did not share with anyone. It doesn't even exist anymore. So,
these laws and the fear that

Art And Art : The Relationship Between Art Vs. Art?
"Design is a funny word. Some people think design means how it looks. But of course, if you dig
deeper, it's really how it works"–Steve Jobs. Many of us undergo some sort of creative adventure,
whether it's within ourselves or the world surrounding us. We take in different elements to form
some sort of masterpiece that expresses whatever we're feeling or what we want others to feel. Art,
that's what we call it. Or do we call it design? Which brings up the question, isn't it both? Both
designers and artists create visuals, but for entirely different reasons. There is a clear severance
between the two creative worlds, the critical thinking, lack of self expression and formulated
structure leads one to say that design is not art and art is not design. Designers live to constantly
question and propose a solution to whatever problem is catching their eye. Problems are made to be
fixed, and designers are addicted to doing so. Of course designers are aware that there is never one
solution to an issue/problem, but that is what ignites the burning passion underneath these creative
souls. There are countless hours considering the various solutions to just one problem. Critically
analyzing one by one, searching for that answer that best suits the dilemma at hand. Art on the other
hand requires a little less analyzation. Typically the two share one thing and that is a message;
However, the difference is that art is presenting a form of expression and design is presenting a

The Political Art Of Art
Professor Sarah Tamez
Art 1301.09
November 23, 2015 Political Art Art can be expressed in many forms but one of the best has got to
be political art, as it expresses art in a relevant form for many to understand, it doesn't require
knowledge in history. It puts out a statement in a bold way so that people may better understand
what is trying to be expressed. Many artists use art in topics like reproductive rights, equality, gun
control, human rights, the environment and war to express desire for change. One of the most
outspoken political artists is Barbara Kruger, who has had her work installed in many well–known
museums. Kruger has become even more known because of her relevance using art to criticize well–
known public figures like Kim Kardashian and George W. Bush, she has also been a proud supporter
of reproductive rights. One of her most known works is "Your body is a battleground" which was
printed in 1989 in her support for the "March for Women's Lives". To show the positive and
negatives sides of the inner struggle, the good and the evil. She has a reputation of supporting
feminism ideas but she hasn't stopped there, she's even had her work put on display in the Hirshhorn
Museum. She has gotten the attention of The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times because
of her distinctive contemporary works. The beauty of her art is that it relates to many, her art ranges
from domestic violence to compulsive shopping and everything in–between, it is also really easy

Art Education : The Values Of Art And Arts Education
I will admit, I was not looking for any certain topic as I scrolled to find this article; however, the
headline caught my attention. As an art student influenced by art throughout life, I find the arts
crucial to behavioral and social development in the early stages of our lives. According to the article
Arts and Smarts, schools have been decreasing funding for the visual and musical arts as opposed to
academic classes such as math, reading, science, etc. I chose this article because it focuses on many
important factors dealing with art and social development. At the beginning of the article, it begins
with an endowment for the Arts Chairman gave the 2007 Commencement speech, he raised an
argument in favor of the values of the arts and arts education–Dana Gioia. He claims that "art is an
irreplaceable way of understanding and expressing the world" and I could not agree more. The arts
are very important because they hold history and teach us several life skills. Art improves our ways
of thinking and expressing ourselves; it is not just another basic academic study. Art gives us the
expression we sometimes cannot express through words and it erects emotions. It is also important
because it helps us critically think which is crucial in life. As we have discovered in Chapter 3 of
Exploring Psychology, we are able to examine our behavior based on MRIs, CT scans, and other
technologies by scanning and analyzing our brain activity. According to Karin Evans–former editor

Art : Art And Art
What is it that attracts us to art? Have you ever wondered exactly why abstract art displays in art
museums are indefinitely more valued than that of an art piece created by a child? If you happen to
be unaware of what abstract art is all about, it is the only art form in which is solely based upon
creating art using shapes, forms, colors and lines to create a composition designed to have no
aesthetic significance whatsoever. In this, it is meant that abstract art is completely detached from
reality. It is what you make it to be, and it is always looked upon as art that is all created upon
imagination. Abstract art is also referred to as "non–objective", "geometric abstraction", and even
"non–representational"; all of which are very vague in consensus . Many people look at abstract art
and think "I can do that" or "a monkey could have made this", but does that make it any less
valuable? Did the painter use valid techniques in order to have that piece of art displayed? Some
critics argue that there is a very well–deserved difference in the making of abstract art and that it all
revolves around technique and talent of the artist. Others might say art is, well, exactly what you
said it is – art; there are no masterpieces better or worse than others. There are also those who argue
that art shouldn 't be resembled as a formula, neither good or bad, but rather neutrally accepted as is.
The truth is, regardless of any technique involved, abstract art has no indefinite method for

The Art Of Activism In Art
Activists make their messages and movements known through art in order to express messages,
validate identities, and to make struggles known, calling themselves ARTivists to show that there is
an often undervalued intersection between the two. But before the coining of the term, activists have
been creating art to advance themselves and their communities. ARTivists within the Chicano
community have especially been creating art in order to validate and record their own experiences.
ARTivism is crucial in today's society and culture as it intersects art and politics in order to
emphasize injustices that are deeply rooted within these structures. By decolonizing and
deconstructing exploitive structures, ARTivists liberate the oppressed while creating a more socially
conscious future by allowing the oppressed to create their own voice and tell their own stories.
ARTivism dismantles the idea of "art for art's sake" by giving a meaning to art. It exposes truths that
become hidden or are erased by social structures, which oppresses the people who live out those
truths. Portraying activism through this medium allows for people to connect in a creative way as art
is able to speak volumes for those who do not have a voice to speak out against injustices against
them. During the time of Cesar Chavez and the United Farm Workers, Chicano farm workers
created a movement to fight for better wages and working conditions in the fields they worked. In
addition to protesting, they utilized

Art And Its Influence On Art
In philosophy, art and more specifically the definition of art is very controversial. There has been
ongoing debate on whether or not art can truly be defined. If defined, is there worth behind the
definition? There are two main contemporary definitions that can be used to narrow down this
category. Modern conventionalist and contemporary both focus on art but at a different extent.
Modern conventionalist emphasizes the movement of art and how it changes over time as well as it
focuses on features and the relation properties. The broader definition is more of a traditional idea
that focuses on more of arts characteristics and cultural background. Philosophers also take into
consideration the concept of what truly is aesthetically pleasing. Using these resources philosophers
must attempt to create a definition of the subject if at all possible. There are varying definitions of
art that change throughout time however; there are a few indisputable facts that must be followed.
Artifacts do not always have to be aesthetically pleasing. There are some entities that have non–
aesthetic functions like propagandistic and religious work. Art is a sense and it is an importance. An
example of this would be beauty. Beauty brings desire and excitement however to each is their own.
There is no objective meaning of the beauty. There is no reasoning behind why one thing is more
appealing to one man than another. This is a big reason why it is difficult to work out the definition
of Art.

Art Is A Form Of Art
What do you love to do? Maybe you love art, maybe you love acting, or maybe you love sports.
Now, imagine, whatever it is you love to do, you are the best at that. So, if you love sports, you are
the greatest athlete of all time. Yet, even though you are the greatest at what you do, imagine nobody
appreciates you. Imagine yourself as a sports star, and you are the strongest, fastest, quickest athlete
in history but no one knows your name. Instead, they focus on someone else who takes
performances inhancers to help himself compete and even after the performance inhancers, he is still
not as good as you. Still, everybody loves him and thinks he is amazing, while everybody does not
even know who you are. How would you feel? Maybe you would feel unappreciated. You might feel
underrated and you may feel like you have been done wrong. Well, what if I told you, there is a form
of art where we do not show glory to the the best, instead we give it to others who some would say
are undeserving.
The form of art I am talking about is music. Well, why do I say that people give glory to ones who
are less deserving? To make my point, think about this illustration. Take another form of art,
painting. Imagine a famous artist is considered one of the best painters of all time. If you knew
someone else was actually tracing their pictures and all they had to do was color between the lines,
would you still call them the greatest painter of all time. No! Why not? They are not doing most of

Revolution is a fundamental change in certain area that carry out by people to pursue for better life.
In many cases, revolution is the essential of advancement in human history. Many people believe
that revolutionary requires a large group of people, and violence is inevitable to achieve. However, I
believe revolution can be peaceful and meaningful, and which can also be expresses through arts.
For example, people took picture of the battlefield to protest unethical war. In this paper, I am going
to argue that revolution can be expressed through the detail of image, which can be meaningful. It
also comes to the conclusion that violence is not the only method of revolution, but a form of art
could be even more influence. When people think of revolution, they rarely associate it with an art.
People usually think revolution is bloody, vast, and violent, but not a piece of art. Before taking this
course, I was also in the group of people who cannot see the connection between art and revolution.
I could not differentiate the true value of an art, and I express an art is tough for me. Throughout the
time in this course, I gradually learned to focus on every detail that the art presenting to me. We can

Art And Art Essay
Art has been around since the start of time. It is a way of expressing oneself and making a personal
connection to the world. Art is much more than a brush stroking against a canvas–it is a part of our
imagination come to life in the form a film, drawing, music, and literature. Because of how much art
can impact society, we must have a social responsibility as a community to enforce the learning and
practice of the arts. Art can be used as a way of reaching out to preach about racial prejudices.
"Excuse Me, Can I see Your ID?" is an art exhibit created by Lonnie Lee. Lee is an Asian–American
woman who designed this museum as means of showing the harsh truth Asian–Americans face on
the daily. ""Excuse Me, Can I See Your ID? is not intended for the white gaze." (Frank). This exhibit
shows what the white–dominated art world does not. Each piece of work tells the story of different
individuals and their struggles of what it is like conforming in America where Asians are viewed as
"perpetual foreigners". From one medium to another, the Black Arts Movement, which lasted from
1965 to 1975, was a great impact on society. Following the assassination of Malcolm X, black
people came together to protest their liberty. While it had the most effect in theatre and poetry,
African Americans spoke their minds through literature, visual arts, and music. Not only reaching
cultural recognition and economic success, the Black Arts Movement brought about modern–day
hip hop and spoken word.
These two men traveled all the
way to favelas–slums in Brazil–to transform previously

Abstract Art : Art And Conceptual Art
The second chapter aims to examine more closely the understanding of readymade forms in the art
world. Particularly, it focuses on two art movements that come to challenge the notion of art: found
art and conceptual art. Both conceptual art and found art challenge the unity between form and
content in art. Both seek the superiority of the one in opposition to the other, that is, form in found
art and content in conceptual art. But could art survive merely as form or concept? According to
Danto, the meaning of these works and their art identity does not depend on their formal properties
but comes through an interpretation or theory. The problem with Danto's approach is that it
marginalises the role of the perceptual and of the experience of art. The chapter considers Seamon's
thesis on the modern theory of artistic value and Fowkes's discussion of found art and conceptual
art. Both suggest an understanding of these movements in terms of the internal or conceptual
dimension of art, that is, the metaphorical function of art. This study aims to examine the notion of
the conceptual in found art and conceptual art and the art identity of these works. Duchamp's
polished urinal calls the viewer not to see it as an image of something else, but rather to gaze it as an
interesting construction. His Fountain (fig. 7) provokes the viewer to think the image of the urinal as
a readymade object in the art world. It was this 'objectiveness', Bolge remarks, that pushed artists to

The Art Of Art
I believe art is one's ability to express themselves creatively in whatever field of choice they choose.
Art can be defined in so many ways. Our art experience is based on seeing, feeling, and what we
know. After all art is an expression of emotions. Our responses to art are a learned behavior that is
influenced by class, gender, race, geography, education and culture. The art forms that have meaning
to me are Music, Poetry and Photography. The essence of my culture and who I am resonates in
these works of art.
Calypso music is an artform, which was developed in Trinidad. It showcases the skills of story–
telling, singing and instrument making, and has since been influenced by European, North American
and other Caribbean cultures. Calypso is a unique form of music that is an important part of the
Caribbean cultural history. Calypso music usually involves some social review, sarcasm on social
and political events, with an catchy beat. Other calypsos are strictly for "wuking up" aka dancing or
a type of twerking style of moving your hips to the beat. Calypso could almost be called the official
music of Carnival. It was first referred to as the music of the slaves and then the poor working–class
blacks who struggled to make ends meet, the sounds of calypso have evolved to become the sounds
of celebration. The person writing these songs is like a poet spreading ideas and emotions through
song. Just like the writers of Calypso music lots of poets throughout history have included

The Art Of Art And Art : Baasquiat's Art
Although Basquiat's mother Matilde was the driving force behind the artist at a young age, it was his
life experiences which shaped his personality and in turn his artwork. The first shift in focus for
Basquiat occurred in 1968 when he was struck by an automobile and injured. While recovering, his
mother gifts him a copy of Gray's Anatomy and here is where he takes special interest in anatomy
which is later reflected in his pieces. At age 15, Basquiat runs away from home after his parents had
been divorced and his mother was in and out of mental institutions. Basquiat led a life on the streets
of New York, sleeping on park benches in Tompkins Square Park and eating what he could find.
Around this time, in 1976, he and Al Diaz create a fictional character by the name of SAMO (Same
Old Shit) and the two began to spread witty philosophical messages throughout the Lower East Side
of Manhattan. The SAMO days begin to build a name for Basquiat and, along with his ingenious
and suave personality, he slowly integrates in the art scene of New York. Basquiat's capacity to
distill his perception of the outside world down to their essence, and project them outward through
his art is what defined his unique style. He was capable of digesting complex social issues such as
racial injustice or religion and unlock a more basic truth through his simple, thought provoking
pieces. One of Basquiat's most iconic pieces, Irony of the Negro Policeman deals with criticism of
his own race. Because

The Art Of Art
Throughout history, art has changed and transformed dramatically as empires have fallen and new
civilizations have formed. There have been many different forms of art and extremely different
tastes of art based on which civilization you decide to focus on. According to this opinion, out of all
the different types of art, "the highest form of art is realism." The writer then claims how many
civilizations have undergone intellectual and creative declines when creating unrealistic art. This, of
course, is simply an opinion, but the the thoughts and ideas of this writers bring up many intriguing
questions about art and how society perceives art. First, I will analyze the writer's opinions by
bringing up examples that are in agreement with his or her opinion. In a way, I do agree with the
writer's opinion in the aesthetics of realism compared to other forms of art. For example, the early
Greek marble statue of Kouros is not as appealing to me because of its rigid form and geometric
body type create this unrealistic expression of the human body. In addition, the large eyes and
archaic smile on the face of sculpture add to the lack of realism to the whole piece. This sculpture
seems ancient and outdated because of its lack of realism to the human world. his work can be
compared to the spear bearer, or Doryphoros, that depicts the human form with more realism.
Although not perfectly realistic, this realism can be seen in improved posture of sculpture with its

Art And Its Impact On Arts
Art Enriches "Art does not solve problems, but makes us aware of their existence," sculptor
Magdalena Abakanowicz has said. The ability to express oneself with arts has been not only
therapeutic but educational. Arts learning can improve motivation, confidence, and teamwork. Art
can encompass many different activities .Being a New Orleanian we are surrounded by all types of
art. We don't always take advantage of this rich cultural and sightsee all the city has to offer. That is
why after years of living here I have decided to explore. I stop by the Saenger Theatre located on
Canal Street. According to the Saenger official website, the Saenger Theatre opened on February 4,
1927. This source claims the theatre took three years to build and cost $2.5 million. The building is
such a staple on Canal. Before its renovation in 2013, the outside of it looked like something I could
pass up easily especially during the daytime. Now as I walked on the sidewalk. I see on the outside
of the building a timeline of historical events. I could not help admiring the facts posted around the
building. They were vibrant colored pictures detailing some facts about the Saenger and some
fascinating historical events. A notable picture talks about the first "talkie" to debut at the Saenger
which was Lights of New York. Walking inside I feel a high–class aura that also feels welcoming.
High extravagant ceilings was one of things I noticed in the lobby.

Art And Art
"What is Art?" Art is the aesthetic experiences we encounter when we are exposed to new responses
of sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell (McGraw 2013). According to McGraw "no society has
lived without some form of art in human history." (2013) We have the ability to create images that
have evolved and find a new relationship with each one. Art is composed of meaningfulness in
every aspect, from the artist perspective. The symbolism of art changes from era to era. Art is
created by individuals who have acquired traits of; sensitivity, flexibility, originality, playfulness,
productivity, fluency, analytical and organizational skills (McGraw 2013). We will later elaborate on
these traits individually through pieces of art. The shift of cultures has impacted the trait of art,
through eras of history, which impact artist mindset and modern culture.
The meaning of "Art" to me personally is something that you should have a connection with and or
understanding of what the artist is talking about by looking at the painting or drawing. "The quality,
production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing,
or of more than ordinary". (dictionary) Referring to our textbook Living with Art refers to as Art
being simplified, fragmented and distorted. With that being said Art is needed to be natural and
stylized in it's own unique way.

The Importance Of Art In Art
In the rather limited amount of years I've been on this Earth, I have found myself drawn to the world
of creativity. I kept it in my pocket constantly, always knowing that I'd need creative insight in this
world to solve difficult problems. I always had art as an outlet for many things, and soon I became
addicted to colors, shades, and designs. It's very important to me, and I hope to go further with it. To
me, it is vexing when others hold an obvious distaste for trying anything new or creative. I don't
hope to change these individual's minds, as that would be impossible, but rather, I hope to educate
them on why having a creative, or artistic sense–the new 'sixth sense' if you will, is vital to being a
part of society. Being creative, or artistic, is important, because it allows me to break away from the
stubborn rules society has forced upon us. When I draw, I have no boundaries other than what I give
myself. I don't have to restrain what I draw, as no one else will see it unless I want them to. It's
important to have this break from 'the real world' because without it, the world seems very bleak and
downright sorrowful. Artistic values are a necessity to me, because without them, I wouldn't have as
many opportunities to better the world around me. Art provides many career paths, such as comic
books, or even advertising. Every art community can have a huge impact on people's daily lives,
without them even realizing it. Take for instance, the billboard you drive by every day to work, or
the comic strips you read on your Sunday paper. Though seemingly insignificant in your eyes, they
are so important in the way you make decisions. When advertisements on TV are shown, no one
really thinks about the artistic aspects the creators use to influence decisions. A prime example of
this, that everyone knows purely by the now recognizable song, is Sarah McLachlan's ASPCA
commercial seen constantly, with the same set up. But what everyone might not know, is that it took
creative insight to pair the sad puppy images, with the depressing song. The artists knew that these
things would guide you to feel sympathetic, and maybe even adopt a puppy. The world would be
very different if there were no artists to create these. It

Appropriation Of Art : Art
Marc Waller 2nd year fine art Appropriation in Art In this essay I intend to look at appropriation in
art from the readymades of Duchamp right up to the latest exhibition of the Chapman brothers at the
Jerwood Gallery in Hastings. Appropriation in art is the use of pre–existing objects or images with
little or no transformation applied to them and that the new work re contextualises whatever it
borrowed to create the new work. There has been an ongoing debate about the validity of
appropriated art probably since art has existed. The striking resemblance of Titian 's Urbino to
Manet 's Olympia to pick one out of the classic art bag. Venus of Urbino 1538 Edouard Manet
Olympia 1873 For me personally, I tend to agree with Picasso when he said , "The bad artist imitate,
the great artists steal." 'Fountain '– the 1917 work by Marcel Duchamp can be said to have started
the debate about appropriation in the modern era. It 's basically an enamel urinal exhibited in Paris
causing a scandal in some quarters and awe in others. As the Independent noted in an article of
February 2008, that with this single work, Duchamp invented Conceptual art and "severed forever
the traditional link between the artist 's labour and the merit of the work." Here, Conceptual art
being where ideas or concepts involved in the work take precedence over traditional aesthetic and
material concerns.

Art Is An Art Essay

  • 1. Art Is An Art Essay Art is created to make feel you something. Whether it is disgust, rage, devastation or joy, as long as it is the artist's deliberation, you may call it art, Art is something which is meant to evoke emotion. It is a representation of what the artist sees. It could be realistic or abstract. Art is a diverse range of human activities and the products of those activities, usually involving imaginative and technical skills. Everything you do is an art in some way, like the way you perform an activity is an individual art. What you see and understand from it is also an art, looking at things from different perspective. When you talk, how you talk is also an art. So overall there is no such thing as what cannot be an art as everything is an art itself. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All can be summed up in a word sincerity. The artist should be impelled by an inner need to express his feeling. Now, just as the evolution of knowledge proceeds by truer and more necessary knowledge displacing previous knowledge, so the evolution of feeling proceeds through art feelings more kind and needful to humanity replace the older feelings. That is the purpose of art. In every age there exists an understanding of the meaning of life which represents the highest level which has been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Social Responsibility Of Art In Art, Art And Art Art has been around for thousands of years. It is a way of expressing oneself and making a personal connection to the world around us. Art is much more than a brush stroking against a canvas–it is a part of our imagination come to life in the form a film, drawing, music, and literature. Because of how much art can impact society, we must have a social responsibility as a community to enforce the learning and practice of the arts. Art can be used as a way of reaching out to preach about racial prejudices. "Excuse Me, Can I see Your ID?" is an art exhibit created by Lonnie Lee. Lee is an Asian–American woman who designed this museum as means of showing the harsh truth Asian– Americans face on the daily. ""Excuse Me, Can I See Your ID? is not intended for the white gaze." (Frank). This exhibit shows what the white–dominated art world does not. Each piece of work tells the story of different individuals and their struggles of what it is like conforming in America where Asians are viewed as "perpetual foreigners". From one medium to another, the Black Arts Movement, which lasted from 1965 to 1975, was a great impact on society. Following the assassination of Malcolm X, black people came together to protest their liberty. While it had the most effect in theatre and poetry, African Americans spoke their minds through literature, visual arts, and music. Not only reaching cultural recognition and economic success, the Black Arts Movement brought about modern–day hip hop and spoken word. The arts have a way of bringing a community together by having people discuss a certain topic or controversy currently going on in the world. The arts open minds and hearts to something previously overlooked or bashed on–it breaks barriers. "When we sit in that darkened theatre or walk through a well–lit gallery, it opens us to experiences different from our own–pasts and futures we'll never experience in our lifetimes. It opens us to compassion. It opens us to dialogue, new ideas, and new understanding." (Robinson). In cities filled with crime, violence, and poverty, artists Dre Urhahn and Jeroen Koolhaas were able to bring a community of people together. These two men traveled all the way to favelas–slums in Brazil–to transform ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Art And Art Art is a way for not only everyday people but also artists to show their feelings and their passions. People can be affected in many, and different ways, through art. Even though art can be interpreted in different ways it can still have valuable meanings to almost everyone in their own special ways. Throughout time art has followed the people closely. It has fed on, and even publicized the state in which society was in. This is not saying that art can't differ from the theme of society, but more times than not it usually relates to society in at least some small way. Society and Art can differ over the era in time. Art helps people to build their ideas and reshape their imaginations. Art can contribute to pass on the way thing were over different time periods. Drawings, painting, and sculpture, has been known not right from the earliest starting point as confirm by the relics of the past. Be that as it may, positively, innovation has made it workable for new types of gear to be exploited and for new mediums to be utilized. There is additionally the alternative of computerized craftsmanship that will permit individuals to work with hues and pictures even without the most severe preparing to make the best magnum opuses. Numerous innovative changes happened amid the Modernist time frame. These included photography, the development of the shading range, and so on. • 7. Art : The World Of Art The world of art is a bridge, a bubble that connects and interacts with many aspects of the world and the lives of others very effectively. Arts reach into the eyes, the heart, and the soul of a human and bring out a multitude of thoughts, emotions, ideas, analysis, desires, and this list of what art is capable of doing goes on. It is important to recognize that art cannot be null and void from the aspects of anyone's life, and exclusion of art is simply not an option, it would be one of the most difficult ideas to put into practice. Behind every person, be they great or be they mediocre, there is a path of art to be followed that has inspired them, and led them to where they find themselves in the present. Life must occur with art in it somewhere, and throughout life, art will spring forth from the minds of those who have been touched by that which came before them. The arts and creation are set in such a way, and have seemingly always been set in such a way that they cannot exist without emotion. Emotion is in turn fueled in new ways by art, by that interpretation of another's emotions. Art undoubtedly stimulates emotion and expression in the human. Here is a comical idea, "every man is a poet at heart and that the last poet will not perish till the last man does" (Freud 437). This sounds rather idealistic, but there is more to it than that. Is every man a poet? Certainly not, at least not in the sense of putting pen to paper and creating astounding works of writing, but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Art And Art There are numerous ways in which art "moves" human beings. For centuries, the effect of art has been theorized and questioned. Through my colloquium, I hope to grapple with the ways in which art, made within and for a specific moment and culture, is able to live beyond its historical discourse and still express a profound, multivalent sense of meaning. Looking at philosophical, religious, sociological, and political texts from ancient time to the present, I will investigate the pressing question, what power does the image hold in society? I will explore the ways people have both thought about and used visual culture through history and across the world. Additionally, I seek to analyze how the societies that produced them can be recognized within the work. Using the texts on my booklist, I will explore the impact of the image through a range of intellectual and disciplinary traditions. I will start by examining the hopes and fears of art's role in society, through the lens of the Bible and ancient philosophers like Plato and Aristotle. Iconoclasm, or the destruction of religious icons and other images, has been prominent since the creation of the Bible. The ancient world abounded with warnings against specific Biblical images. What is it that they feared about art and representation? The ten commandments, written out in the Hebrew Bible, begins with God commanding, "I am the Lord your God". Within this first commandment, we begin to see the prohibition against graven images ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. My Art And Art : My Education Of Art I have never really had any great love for art, but I have never thought it could have any good effect on me. I've known since I was little that not just the big things in museums that cost around $5000 were art, and that even the little things I would make an arts and crafts in my old school could be considered art. However, I never imagine myself as an artist of any kind and always considered art as just something pretty to look at. My education of art isn't really anything impressive, starting at my first elementary school where I had both art and music in my kindergarten class, though it might have been first grade I can't quite remember, and I wouldn't have another until my high school years because it was mandatory. Though I had never really thought about to highly, this paper and the few classes I've had in fine arts have made me think differently. Architecture and videogames have had a great impact on my life and have even given me a goal to work after. To start on what I mean, architecture is something that I have been obsessed with for many years, and perhaps I didn't even realize it. I have always wanted a grand log cabin house and not just any old house, I want to design and build it myself. I have never lived in a house I truly liked, in fact none of my known family have either, except an aunt but I would never live with her. I have always lived in a trailer and although I love my home that I have lived in for most of my life, is always had problems. Interior ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Censorship is the suppression of content, which is defined as harmful, politically incorrect or sensitive by the authority (cited in Merriam, n.d.). Art and censorship have been connected for a long period of time together. In the recent society, the censorship on artworks is one of the most severe issues when it comes to censorship and the problem happens internationally. Since every individual has the right to define what is acceptable for him/her or not, instead of the government or others, Art should not be censored. The censorship on Art may influence the freedom of Creativity‬ of the artist; the right of the general public to view different topics of artworks and censorship on political Art may affect the human rights and freedom of speech. • 20. Beauty : The Different Means Of Art, Art And Art Beauty is many things such as personality and appearance, but it can be used in subjects such as art. Art has different standards of beauty. According to Oxford Living Dictionary, beauty is "a combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially the sight." Beauty has been studied and analyzed for years. As humans, we are attracted to beauty, but what makes something beautiful? There are many different types of art that is considered beauty, not only paintings and drawing but poetry, music and nature. Art is not always seen as beautiful; it can be quite ugly and vague. When art is considered ugly, it can still be beautiful. "The modern conception of art leads us to suppose that meaning must be grasped either in terms of the artist's intentions, the mens auctoris, or in terms of the feelings and experiences aroused by the work in the audience." (Guignon) The beauty in this type of art is not necessarily on the picture it can be the story behind the art. Artists want to tell a story with the art and show beauty in where the audience can understand. People usually do not understand how a piece of art that is so unattractive and confusing but can have such beauty. The beauty we do not understand is deeper than the human eye. We see each other appearance and sometime do not think anything else about it, but there is always something below the surface. Art can be ugly or beautiful. Everyone sees things differently. The Art Of Art Reflection While visiting the SCAD museum of Art I came across an extraordinary piece of art that caught my eye.You Diserve it mama!! by, Aaron Fowler this art piece caught my eye for many reasons. One being it was a tribute to his mom.Secondly I liked the way the artist used everyday items to create this piece. The Art piece was very visual with the mom cooking and cleaning Fowler used cloths for her clothing and newspaper cutouts for the pots and pans she was using to cook.He used iron boards to display the mom and husband in their house, the husband looks as he is walking in from somewhere with their dog next to him.Fowler was very creative with the way he designed the piece the everyday items and the iron board had the feels of home and the way he betrayed the house with a fireplace and a painting above it. The scenery looks as if its a real house with it looking messy and very decorative. Aaron Fowler is an amazing artist greatly inspired by Jacob lawrence.Fowler is just now an uprising artist from moving into his east Harlem studio in early 2015 and his work soon being known and reflecting his great talent.Aaron Fowler was born in St.Louis before moving to New York. • 24. Art And Art In The Renaissance Art, drama, and music have always been shaping forces in society as they explore a variety of issues unique to the society of the time. From the seventeenth through nineteenth centuries, the fine arts shaped urban life in Venice, Italy and Edo, Japan. The art and music created represented the artists, the citizens and also depicted the attitudes and interests of society at the time. Furthermore, it impacted the city life, in economic, social and political ways. Exploring and comparing fine art between these two cities will provide a glimpse into these societies. Venice in the late Renaissance period was one of the most peaceful and tolerant societies within Europe. The city itself was not known for its political fervour, but for their thriving fine arts. The uniqueness of the city coupled with the history of family guilds allowed for fine arts, such as music and painting to become incredibly popular, to locals and tourists alike. The impact that art, specifically painting, had on city life is seen through the popularity of Venetian painters throughout the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Venice achieved much of its economic success due to popular painters such as Sebastiano Ricci and Giovanni Battista Tiepolo. These men had their work become exceedingly popular abroad which attracted visitors to the city to view their work and others of the time. Tourists frequently visited the city due to the variety of entertainment available. Along with painting, Venetian music was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 26. Art And Art Essay Graffiti, monuments, structures, is it really art or a crime? In this reading, you will find examples and reasons why many think arts can cause conflict and why many might enjoy seeing the different types of art forms. Arts can be beautiful yet cause conflict. When people are against it, they think of the cost of repair when art is formed on buildings and businesses. As well when art is formed some can see it as a form of grieving when major events happen but that can as well cause a bigger conflict. This reading is showing you why art can be a negative impact on the world and many around the world. Why is it art can cause conflict when its meant to be beautiful? While many can see the beauty in the different forms of arts, many can understand why its causes conflict. In the article "Battles over Yard Art Sometimes Turn Ugly" by "Buffalo Law Journal '" states that "some art can cause conflict with others when its put up for public to see." This means that when the artist of their own art creates something and put it up in the eye of public, many do not like that its location, the size, or the art itself. This can cause conflict. This is relevant because, in the article, is shows us examples on why issues can cause a raise in negativity against art. On page 498 in the article it gives an example of a neighbor in a housing area decided to put up art in his front year. • 28. Art And Its Influence On Art The essence of art is the union of inspiration, discovery, imagination, and power displayed and interpreted through our five senses. Art cannot be demonstrated, nor identified by any absolute source; no one can or ever shall deem any one piece or sense as "true art.". For art is individualized and perceived differently by each being. The appreciation of what one brings to be experienced by others classifies as art, for art is to be appreciated in different perspectives; whether it be in sorrow, pleasure, comfort, or uneasiness. With the creation of art comes the birthplace of power. With the beauty of art, comes its flexibility and willingness to bind itself to any form that you dictate. Art presents itself through many mediums, and channels, which leads one to ask where art comes from, and rooted. To some, art is a passion, to others an outlet, and to other, it is a breath of fresh air. In ancient times, the Greeks carried that idea with them, believing that it was the Muses, a supernatural power who worked through them, that caused many blossoming urges of inspiration (Brooks). Inspiration is a core member in the process of creating art. At times people will be at crossroads, not knowing what to produce or create, not sure what is to ensue. At those times, artists from the Romantic Era believed that inspiration played a key role in expression. Thus their mentality was that " art was an expression or revelation of truths that were inaccessible to the intellect alone" ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 30. The Importance Of Art In Art Form & Content When going into an art exhibit one does not do justice to the artwork and their own self if they cannot decipher the message trying to be conveyed via the artwork. The form is the gate way and the eye is the key which helps to unlock the content or the meaning behind the great symbolism for our minds to decipher. Art is a language and if you want to speak to anyone from any generation just create something symbolic. Black figure Greek amphora depicting Theseus and the minotaur: The form of an Amphora is that of a large vase made to carry oil or wine; They are generally a multi–purpose piece, not to be confused with a Krater. It is a decorated piece which served as a reminder to the Greek of their heritage. The beautiful painting on it are known as the Black figures, this was a common art form until it was replaced by the Red figures which were desired more than the black figures the form of the black figures was "drawn on the natural clay of a vase in glossy black pigment" (Britannica). Decorations on the amphora show a man slaying a creature that is half bull and half man. Though the minotaur story is a myth back then it was history for the Greeks and therefore the inclusion of the story onto the amphora can be considered imperial art or a way of recording history in artwork. Similar to oral history where history is passed through stories whereas this is passed through art. The Content of the amphora clearly shows that religion was an important part of the ... • 34. Descriptive Art Of Art A wave of nostalgia washed over me when I opened the door to the Durbin Gallery. Waxy, bright, colorful, and detailed pieces ornamented the white–walled room. I smelt the same smell I did when I was a student digging through my pencil box or when I was creating a colorful masterpiece during my free time as a child. As I walked around the gallery and saw the pieces that the artist, Herb Williams, created and displayed in his exhibit, Master Heist. I saw a can of Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup, a recreation of Vincent van Gogh's The Starry Night, word bubbles with text, and many more. Williams brought me back to my childhood and amazed me within a matter of seconds of entering the exhibit by using familiar objects to make familiar works of art. A thought I continuously had while walking around the exhibit was of how cool it was to see how one individual used crayons, something I've always correlated as a tool used to make art, to create art. The individual pieces when observed from a distance looked to me to be a vibrant printed picture. However, at a closer glance, it was easy to tell that it was not printed, and that it was composed of an object that most all viewers can relate to in some way. The artist took crayons in their most simplistic form, cylinders of wax, to a new level. The thousands of crayons were arranged by color and placed specifically with either the point or flat ends facing outwardly to create depth and movement in the pieces. This further pushed my ... • 36. The Influence Of The Art Of Art Art is an expression of free speech in a sense. However, some seek to influence and sensor an individual's artistic expression. Socrates believes that banning certain works of art from his ideal city is the best course of action for everyone. I will argue that Socrates is correct in his assessment that controlling the flow of art is for the betterment of society. By banning certain works of art, the souls of the young can be molded into an image that loves truth and honesty. Socrates says " So our first task, it seems, is to supervise the storytellers: if they make up a good story, we must accept it; if not, we must reject it." (Republic II, 377B). The objection is that such policies suppress the individuals right to autonomy, and to decide for themselves what is virtuous and what is not. Nonetheless, Socrates believes that restricting art is the best course of action. The influence of the bad art and the good art will take effect in the mind of the individual throughout society. Such as the stories of the gods, Socrates believes that the gods must be represented in a good light. Then kids will emulate good–hearted behavior. If their mothers read stories about the horrible crimes the gods committed, then the children might grow up to believe that such immorality is normal and acceptable. If those children grow up to become adults and leaders of society, then society would become callous and unjust. An unjust city is the antithesis of an ideal city, which is what Socrates ... For instance, a blue sky can either generate depression, faith, or confidence. An artist usually conveys a message through their work of art. The concept of literacy can be intriguing a few may be literate in academic subjects such as Math and English, but every person is diverse, for many people have different forms of learning. The two essential points of literacy are to tell a story and to convince your professors that you comprehend the material being taught. Considering art is a form of literature that tells a story through colors and patterns, I have found that art is my form of literacy. Every art piece has a theme conveyed through a composition of multiple colors and an arrangement of patterns. No art piece has a set definition, it can annotate multiple scenarios depending on the way you view it. You can read art in countless ways you can find a deeper meaning to it or you can simply just admire how the composition and the setup of each component of art become a story. The setting of the work of art can explain a situation to the viewer, as well as make a statement or demonstrate a position. For example, if you see a black and white portrait of an African American wearing ripped jeans and an untucked oversized button up shirt and a white folk with a suit and tie both waiting for the arrival of the bus but sitting on different benches you would ... • 40. Art Or Art Essay The concept of art is very complex, and the question "What is art?" tends to not have a certain answer. However, most agree that art is any form of expression, and this statement is what everyone knows art as. For years, many people have gotten into heated discussions on whether video games could be considered as art or not. Though these screen–based games have been legally recognized as art, the topic remains a controversy. It is imperative to understand that video games have many artistic qualities contained within them. These games contain many forms of art, including visual art, music, and storytelling. Therefore, video games should be considered an art form because of the artistic efforts that go into making them. Many video games have stories behind that provide a backstory for the main character and his or her motivation. Video game creators make sure that their games have complex stories that teach a lesson to the player. An example of this could be seen in game Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is a game where the player has to go on a quest with the main character's brother to save their dying father (Mellisonos, 1). A story like this is not to simply be dismissed. It not only provides the player with a way to keep the player occupied, but it also gives the player insight into his or her own life. • 42. Art In An Art World Art is not just a picture on a wall or in a museum, art comes in many forms. It can be a song you just heard, a video you watched, or a painting you saw in a gallery. Art can also be just text but no matter what all forms of art grasp you in different ways and make your thoughts evolve to new distances. Art can bring you feelings you did not think you had. This is what an art world truly is, a combination of all the work that was put into the art and how it impacted people's lives. "Art worlds consist of all the people whose activities are necessary to the production of the characteristic works which that world, and perhaps others as well, define as art" (Becker, p. 34). Becker also says an art world is the network of people whose cooperative activity, organized via their joint knowledge of conventional means of doing things, produce the kind of art works that art world is noted for. An art world is very similar to an industry but the art business is so small that the social factor isn't strong enough to consider it an industry. The people who create the artwork will see the same people interested in the same artwork at the same art shows, galleries, and other events year after year. In order to have an art world and artwork in it, we need the artists to create art and an audience to critic and appreciate the art. Without an audience there would be no variation in the types of art as the audience has a huge influence in what artists make. For instance, without the reaction ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The question whether fan art is legitimate art or not has become one of the most debatable topics today, when people have become so crazy about some artists or characters that there are huge events such as Comic Con which have a great deal with fan art. The artists produce works, which can be in different forms like literature, music or visual art, then they want people to respect and appreciate their work. And, that is what fans do. As a part of being the fans, they express their love for the artists or the art and this is called Fan Art. But the artist who produced the original art wants to have control of the work. Mostly, the monetary benefits of their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We should, at the least, accept their art as legitimate. According to me, if people go against fan art and discourage it, there will be a time when creativity will end. We cannot end the imaginations of fans. We just need to make sure that the rules are followed before creating or sharing a fan art. I'm against the notion of not even considering fan art legitimate, because I think it is a great balance that is very much required between the artist and the fans. If an artist has many fan arts about this work, he gets more attention and more fame. The people producing Fan Art should keep a few things in mind like doing research before uploading, stating that their work is not official, keeping it non– commercial, not selling copies, and following any request made by the artist about their fan art. It can be considered legal if made if it promotes the original artist like brand names in songs, or if not being used to take away the market of the original artist or harming their image. So, I think it is legitimate art if handled carefully. One of my favorite actors in his recent speeches, said "Art is more important than the artist." I am a huge Taylor Swift fan and I wanted to prepare a video for one of her songs but then I got to know about all the laws and so, I thought of making one and keeping it to myself. • 46. Art And Art : The Relationship Between Art Vs. Art? "Design is a funny word. Some people think design means how it looks. But of course, if you dig deeper, it's really how it works"–Steve Jobs. Many of us undergo some sort of creative adventure, whether it's within ourselves or the world surrounding us. We take in different elements to form some sort of masterpiece that expresses whatever we're feeling or what we want others to feel. Art, that's what we call it. Or do we call it design? Which brings up the question, isn't it both? Both designers and artists create visuals, but for entirely different reasons. There is a clear severance between the two creative worlds, the critical thinking, lack of self expression and formulated structure leads one to say that design is not art and art is not design. Designers live to constantly question and propose a solution to whatever problem is catching their eye. Problems are made to be fixed, and designers are addicted to doing so. Of course designers are aware that there is never one solution to an issue/problem, but that is what ignites the burning passion underneath these creative souls. There are countless hours considering the various solutions to just one problem. Critically analyzing one by one, searching for that answer that best suits the dilemma at hand. Art on the other hand requires a little less analyzation. The Political Art Of Art Professor Sarah Tamez Art 1301.09 November 23, 2015 Political Art Art can be expressed in many forms but one of the best has got to be political art, as it expresses art in a relevant form for many to understand, it doesn't require knowledge in history. It puts out a statement in a bold way so that people may better understand what is trying to be expressed. Many artists use art in topics like reproductive rights, equality, gun control, human rights, the environment and war to express desire for change. One of the most outspoken political artists is Barbara Kruger, who has had her work installed in many well–known museums. Kruger has become even more known because of her relevance using art to criticize well– known public figures like Kim Kardashian and George W. Bush, she has also been a proud supporter of reproductive rights. One of her most known works is "Your body is a battleground" which was printed in 1989 in her support for the "March for Women's Lives". To show the positive and negatives sides of the inner struggle, the good and the evil. She has a reputation of supporting feminism ideas but she hasn't stopped there, she's even had her work put on display in the Hirshhorn Museum. • 50. Art Education : The Values Of Art And Arts Education I will admit, I was not looking for any certain topic as I scrolled to find this article; however, the headline caught my attention. As an art student influenced by art throughout life, I find the arts crucial to behavioral and social development in the early stages of our lives. According to the article Arts and Smarts, schools have been decreasing funding for the visual and musical arts as opposed to academic classes such as math, reading, science, etc. I chose this article because it focuses on many important factors dealing with art and social development. At the beginning of the article, it begins with an endowment for the Arts Chairman gave the 2007 Commencement speech, he raised an argument in favor of the values of the arts and arts education–Dana Gioia. He claims that "art is an irreplaceable way of understanding and expressing the world" and I could not agree more. The arts are very important because they hold history and teach us several life skills. Art improves our ways of thinking and expressing ourselves; it is not just another basic academic study. Art gives us the expression we sometimes cannot express through words and it erects emotions. It is also important because it helps us critically think which is crucial in life. As we have discovered in Chapter 3 of Exploring Psychology, we are able to examine our behavior based on MRIs, CT scans, and other technologies by scanning and analyzing our brain activity. • 52. Art : Art And Art What is it that attracts us to art? Have you ever wondered exactly why abstract art displays in art museums are indefinitely more valued than that of an art piece created by a child? If you happen to be unaware of what abstract art is all about, it is the only art form in which is solely based upon creating art using shapes, forms, colors and lines to create a composition designed to have no aesthetic significance whatsoever. In this, it is meant that abstract art is completely detached from reality. It is what you make it to be, and it is always looked upon as art that is all created upon imagination. Abstract art is also referred to as "non–objective", "geometric abstraction", and even "non–representational"; all of which are very vague in consensus . Many people look at abstract art and think "I can do that" or "a monkey could have made this", but does that make it any less valuable? Did the painter use valid techniques in order to have that piece of art displayed? Some critics argue that there is a very well–deserved difference in the making of abstract art and that it all revolves around technique and talent of the artist. Others might say art is, well, exactly what you said it is – art; there are no masterpieces better or worse than others. There are also those who argue that art shouldn 't be resembled as a formula, neither good or bad, but rather neutrally accepted as is. • 54. The Art Of Activism In Art Activists make their messages and movements known through art in order to express messages, validate identities, and to make struggles known, calling themselves ARTivists to show that there is an often undervalued intersection between the two. But before the coining of the term, activists have been creating art to advance themselves and their communities. ARTivists within the Chicano community have especially been creating art in order to validate and record their own experiences. ARTivism is crucial in today's society and culture as it intersects art and politics in order to emphasize injustices that are deeply rooted within these structures. By decolonizing and deconstructing exploitive structures, ARTivists liberate the oppressed while creating a more socially conscious future by allowing the oppressed to create their own voice and tell their own stories. ARTivism dismantles the idea of "art for art's sake" by giving a meaning to art. It exposes truths that become hidden or are erased by social structures, which oppresses the people who live out those truths. Portraying activism through this medium allows for people to connect in a creative way as art is able to speak volumes for those who do not have a voice to speak out against injustices against them. During the time of Cesar Chavez and the United Farm Workers, Chicano farm workers created a movement to fight for better wages and working conditions in the fields they worked. • 56. Art And Its Influence On Art In philosophy, art and more specifically the definition of art is very controversial. There has been ongoing debate on whether or not art can truly be defined. If defined, is there worth behind the definition? There are two main contemporary definitions that can be used to narrow down this category. Modern conventionalist and contemporary both focus on art but at a different extent. Modern conventionalist emphasizes the movement of art and how it changes over time as well as it focuses on features and the relation properties. The broader definition is more of a traditional idea that focuses on more of arts characteristics and cultural background. Philosophers also take into consideration the concept of what truly is aesthetically pleasing. Using these resources philosophers must attempt to create a definition of the subject if at all possible. There are varying definitions of art that change throughout time however; there are a few indisputable facts that must be followed. Artifacts do not always have to be aesthetically pleasing. There are some entities that have non– aesthetic functions like propagandistic and religious work. Art is a sense and it is an importance. An example of this would be beauty. Beauty brings desire and excitement however to each is their own. There is no objective meaning of the beauty. There is no reasoning behind why one thing is more appealing to one man than another. This is a big reason why it is difficult to work out the definition of Art. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 62. Art And Art Essay Art has been around since the start of time. It is a way of expressing oneself and making a personal connection to the world. Lee is an Asian–American woman who designed this museum as means of showing the harsh truth Asian–Americans face on the daily. • 64. Abstract Art : Art And Conceptual Art The second chapter aims to examine more closely the understanding of readymade forms in the art world. Particularly, it focuses on two art movements that come to challenge the notion of art: found art and conceptual art. Both conceptual art and found art challenge the unity between form and content in art. Both seek the superiority of the one in opposition to the other, that is, form in found art and content in conceptual art. But could art survive merely as form or concept? According to Danto, the meaning of these works and their art identity does not depend on their formal properties but comes through an interpretation or theory. The problem with Danto's approach is that it marginalises the role of the perceptual and of the experience of art. The chapter considers Seamon's thesis on the modern theory of artistic value and Fowkes's discussion of found art and conceptual art. Both suggest an understanding of these movements in terms of the internal or conceptual dimension of art, that is, the metaphorical function of art. This study aims to examine the notion of the conceptual in found art and conceptual art and the art identity of these works. • 66. The Art Of Art I believe art is one's ability to express themselves creatively in whatever field of choice they choose. Art can be defined in so many ways. Our art experience is based on seeing, feeling, and what we know. After all art is an expression of emotions. Our responses to art are a learned behavior that is influenced by class, gender, race, geography, education and culture. The art forms that have meaning to me are Music, Poetry and Photography. The essence of my culture and who I am resonates in these works of art. Calypso music is an artform, which was developed in Trinidad. It showcases the skills of story– telling, singing and instrument making, and has since been influenced by European, North American and other Caribbean cultures. Calypso is a unique form of music that is an important part of the Caribbean cultural history. Calypso music usually involves some social review, sarcasm on social and political events, with an catchy beat. Other calypsos are strictly for "wuking up" aka dancing or a type of twerking style of moving your hips to the beat. Calypso could almost be called the official music of Carnival. It was first referred to as the music of the slaves and then the poor working–class blacks who struggled to make ends meet, the sounds of calypso have evolved to become the sounds of celebration. The person writing these songs is like a poet spreading ideas and emotions through song. Just like the writers of Calypso music lots of poets throughout history have included ... The Art Of Art And Art : Baasquiat's Art Although Basquiat's mother Matilde was the driving force behind the artist at a young age, it was his life experiences which shaped his personality and in turn his artwork. The first shift in focus for Basquiat occurred in 1968 when he was struck by an automobile and injured. While recovering, his mother gifts him a copy of Gray's Anatomy and here is where he takes special interest in anatomy which is later reflected in his pieces. At age 15, Basquiat runs away from home after his parents had been divorced and his mother was in and out of mental institutions. Basquiat led a life on the streets of New York, sleeping on park benches in Tompkins Square Park and eating what he could find. Around this time, in 1976, he and Al Diaz create a fictional character by the name of SAMO (Same Old Shit) and the two began to spread witty philosophical messages throughout the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The SAMO days begin to build a name for Basquiat and, along with his ingenious and suave personality, he slowly integrates in the art scene of New York. Basquiat's capacity to distill his perception of the outside world down to their essence, and project them outward through his art is what defined his unique style. He was capable of digesting complex social issues such as racial injustice or religion and unlock a more basic truth through his simple, thought provoking pieces. • 70. The Art Of Art Throughout history, art has changed and transformed dramatically as empires have fallen and new civilizations have formed. There have been many different forms of art and extremely different tastes of art based on which civilization you decide to focus on. According to this opinion, out of all the different types of art, "the highest form of art is realism." The writer then claims how many civilizations have undergone intellectual and creative declines when creating unrealistic art. This, of course, is simply an opinion, but the the thoughts and ideas of this writers bring up many intriguing questions about art and how society perceives art. First, I will analyze the writer's opinions by bringing up examples that are in agreement with his or her opinion. In a way, I do agree with the writer's opinion in the aesthetics of realism compared to other forms of art. For example, the early Greek marble statue of Kouros is not as appealing to me because of its rigid form and geometric body type create this unrealistic expression of the human body. In addition, the large eyes and archaic smile on the face of sculpture add to the lack of realism to the whole piece. This sculpture seems ancient and outdated because of its lack of realism to the human world. his work can be compared to the spear bearer, or Doryphoros, that depicts the human form with more realism. That is why after years of living here I have decided to explore. I stop by the Saenger Theatre located on Canal Street. According to the Saenger official website, the Saenger Theatre opened on February 4, 1927. This source claims the theatre took three years to build and cost $2.5 million. The building is such a staple on Canal. Before its renovation in 2013, the outside of it looked like something I could pass up easily especially during the daytime. Now as I walked on the sidewalk. I see on the outside of the building a timeline of historical events. I could not help admiring the facts posted around the building. They were vibrant colored pictures detailing some facts about the Saenger and some fascinating historical events. A notable picture talks about the first "talkie" to debut at the Saenger which was Lights of New York. Walking inside I feel a high–class aura that also feels welcoming. High extravagant ceilings was one of things I noticed in the lobby. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 74. Art And Art "What is Art?" Art is the aesthetic experiences we encounter when we are exposed to new responses of sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell (McGraw 2013). According to McGraw "no society has lived without some form of art in human history." (2013) We have the ability to create images that have evolved and find a new relationship with each one. Art is composed of meaningfulness in every aspect, from the artist perspective. The symbolism of art changes from era to era. Art is created by individuals who have acquired traits of; sensitivity, flexibility, originality, playfulness, productivity, fluency, analytical and organizational skills (McGraw 2013). We will later elaborate on these traits individually through pieces of art. The shift of cultures has impacted the trait of art, through eras of history, which impact artist mindset and modern culture. The meaning of "Art" to me personally is something that you should have a connection with and or understanding of what the artist is talking about by looking at the painting or drawing. "The quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary". (dictionary) Referring to our textbook Living with Art refers to as Art being simplified, fragmented and distorted. With that being said Art is needed to be natural and stylized in it's own unique way. In Art there are eras that had started in the BC's, just like stone age had started in 30,000 BC through ... • 76. The Importance Of Art In Art In the rather limited amount of years I've been on this Earth, I have found myself drawn to the world of creativity. I kept it in my pocket constantly, always knowing that I'd need creative insight in this world to solve difficult problems. I always had art as an outlet for many things, and soon I became addicted to colors, shades, and designs. It's very important to me, and I hope to go further with it. To me, it is vexing when others hold an obvious distaste for trying anything new or creative. I don't hope to change these individual's minds, as that would be impossible, but rather, I hope to educate them on why having a creative, or artistic sense–the new 'sixth sense' if you will, is vital to being a part of society. Being creative, or artistic, is important, because it allows me to break away from the stubborn rules society has forced upon us. When I draw, I have no boundaries other than what I give myself. I don't have to restrain what I draw, as no one else will see it unless I want them to. It's important to have this break from 'the real world' because without it, the world seems very bleak and downright sorrowful. Artistic values are a necessity to me, because without them, I wouldn't have as many opportunities to better the world around me. Art provides many career paths, such as comic books, or even advertising. Every art community can have a huge impact on people's daily lives, without them even realizing it. Take for instance, the billboard you drive by every day to work, or the comic strips you read on your Sunday paper. Though seemingly insignificant in your eyes, they are so important in the way you make decisions. When advertisements on TV are shown, no one really thinks about the artistic aspects the creators use to influence decisions. A prime example of this, that everyone knows purely by the now recognizable song, is Sarah McLachlan's ASPCA commercial seen constantly, with the same set up. But what everyone might not know, is that it took creative insight to pair the sad puppy images, with the depressing song. The artists knew that these things would guide you to feel sympathetic, and maybe even adopt a puppy. The world would be very different if there were no artists to create these. It ... • 78. Appropriation Of Art : Art Marc Waller 2nd year fine art Appropriation in Art In this essay I intend to look at appropriation in art from the readymades of Duchamp right up to the latest exhibition of the Chapman brothers at the Jerwood Gallery in Hastings. Appropriation in art is the use of pre–existing objects or images with little or no transformation applied to them and that the new work re contextualises whatever it borrowed to create the new work. There has been an ongoing debate about the validity of appropriated art probably since art has existed. The striking resemblance of Titian 's Urbino to Manet 's Olympia to pick one out of the classic art bag. Venus of Urbino 1538 Edouard Manet Olympia 1873 For me personally, I tend to agree with Picasso when he said , "The bad artist imitate, the great artists steal." 'Fountain '– the 1917 work by Marcel Duchamp can be said to have started the debate about appropriation in the modern era. It 's basically an enamel urinal exhibited in Paris causing a scandal in some quarters and awe in others. As the Independent noted in an article of February 2008, that with this single work, Duchamp invented Conceptual art and "severed forever the traditional link between the artist 's labour and the merit of the work." Here, Conceptual art being where ideas or concepts involved in the work take precedence over traditional aesthetic and material concerns. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
