2. Images for my adverts
These are the five images I took to use in my adverts. I decided to cut them away from the
back ground that was originally there as I think this makes them look more professional
and helped show my IT skills. I re-shot the picture of my laptop as the one I originally used
was blurry and made it unclear what was being advertised. I think all these pictures follow
the typical connotations of advert images from local newspapers as they’re all for local
companies/events and clearly link to what the advertiser is trying to promote. To take the
pictures for my calendar and conservatory adverts I checked the weather for the upcoming
days to ensure that I would have good lighting ready to take the pictures to make sure that
they were appealing and good quality. I also used Photoshop to lighten the conservatory
picture as it was still a bit dark due to it being in the shade. I took many pictures for the
laptop advert and the antiques advert as it was hard to get good lightening to make the
pictures look professional. I chose these two as I believe they’re of good quality.
3. Images for my stories
These are the four pictures that I used for my story images. I believe that they’re all of good
quality and could be found on a real local newspaper. The picture of the flamingoes for my main
story took a couple of attempts to take. The one I was originally using didn’t have very good
lighting, was slightly blurry and many of the flamingoes were cut out of the picture. Due to this I
decided to go back to the zoo and retake the picture earlier on in the day on a sunnier day. The
fire and car I already had pictures of and wanted to base my stories off of them as I believe they
conform to typical connotations of local newspaper pictures with good supporting stories and it is
clear that it relates. The picture of the flowers is a close-up picture of a bunch of flowers I had at
my house. I believe the picture is good quality and as I made the flowers fill the whole frame it is
made clear what the focus is.
