The student learned about various technologies through creating a magazine product. They used a PC for layout, organization, and meeting deadlines. An internet connection allowed research and an effective blog. A printer/scanner was used for drafts, questionnaires, and focus groups. Pictures were taken with a camera and roles like photographer, journalist, designer were assumed. Adobe Photoshop and InDesign were effective design tools while Blogger organized work online. Other sites like SlideShare and Prezi supplemented the blog.

about technologies from
the process of
constructing this
product?
2. Technologies

this to upload pictures and videeos for my coursework. The Pc helped me to meet deadlines as
i could easily update my blog, also the PC helped me to keep all my work in folders which
helped me stay organized.
Internet- I used this to update my blog and research on other magazine doublepage spread,
front cover and contents pages. The internet helped me as i used different websites to make
my blog look effective, also it helped me to layout my front cover, contents page and double
page spread as i could research other layouts.
Printer/scanner- I used this to upload my drafts and print out questionaires for my research
and planning and evaluation. The printer also allowed me to print a snippet of my media
product for the focus group.
Camera- I used this to take pictures for my magazine, I also used this to video my focus
groups. The camera i used was important as i could upload the pictures/vidoes using a USB
lead.

various angles for my contents page, front cover and double page spread.

researched on multiple factors like target audience this involves confidence which is a
journalist's job.

double page spread according to how i wanted it to be.
Layout Sub editor-I played the role of a layout sub editor as i drafted the layouts of my front
cover, contents page and double page spread.

Easiest Role- I found being the photographer the easiest
role as i could take pictures in different angles however i
wanted to. Also the being a photographer was the most
fun role i played therefor i found it the easiest.
Hardest Role- I found being the graphic designer the
hardest job as we had to try our best to make our media
product look professional and the softwares we used had
so many tools which confused me.
5. Adobe Photoshop
I used Adobe photoshop to both plan and construct my front cover. I used
it to plan as i edited all the images i used in photoshop , this was effective
as this software is proffesional and allows you to transform pictures to look
completely professional.
I used Adobe photoshop to construct my front page as this was the most
suitable software because my front cover was image based. It easily
allowed me to add cover lines and allign them so they were matching. It
allowed me to add images such as the barcode and place them in a
proffesional way. I could easily rotate, spin an image to suit my needs.
6. InDesign
I used this software to construct both my Content page and Double page
spread.
I used this software to construct my content page it easily allowed me to
follow my draft layout which was the rule of thirds by adding columns for
me to follow. I could easily add photos as my content page is image
based by fitting them proportionally so they don't lose resolution. Also it
allowed to add text and alter the text to make it look good. This software
was very effective as it made my content page look proffesional.
I used this software to construct my double page spread, it was effective
as it allowed to use to pages and construct them together. it also allowed
me to add my Q and A article so it fitted perfectly onthe page.
7. Blogger
Blogger was a very effective software as it allowed me to
meet all my deadlines.
Blogger allowed me to upload all my images , videos and
all the websites i used to make then look effective on my
blog , it also allowed me to add labels and text to my
posts. It was effective because it was all organized and
everything i could add to my coursework could be put on
blogger.
