E. W. Grove Research Papers
There are a number of famous people from Paris, but the famous Parisian I chose to do my project
on was E.W. Grove. There are several reasons why I chose Grove to do my project on. One reason is
that he founded Grove school. Another is that he founded and put many projects in place for many
building around the U.S. Finally, I chose him because when I was doing my research on him, he
seemed to have a very interesting life. E.W. Grove Edwin Wiley Grove, better known as E.W.
Grove, was born in Hardeman County, Tennessee in 1850. His parents were Mary Jane Harris and
James Henry Grove, though he was raised by his aunt, Peggy Traylor. In 1815 Grove married Mary
Louisa Moore and they had 2 daughters, but she died and he went on to marry Alice Gertrude
Mattewson and they had 3 children. At the age of 24 Grove moved to Paris, Tennessee. ... Show

Grove. For example, did you know that Grove was a prohibitionist and even had a newspaper called
the Atlanta– Georgian. The paper is still active today, but is called the Atlanta– Journal Constitution.
Grove also bought Grove Laboratories which is now run by Bristol– Myers. Also in 1890 Grove's
Tasteless Chill Tonic sold more bottles than Coca–Cola! Finally, Edwin Wiley Grove endowed
Presbyterian Churches. Edwin Wiley Grove is most famous for the creation of Grove's Tasteless
Chill Tonic and the Development of Asheville. Though he never received any awards his actions
have left a lasting impact on society through E.W. Grove High school and the many buildings he has
founded that are still in use today. Edwin Wiley Grove died in Grove park Hotel in 1927. His funeral
was held at a First Presbyterian Church. Grove is buried in the Paris City

The Journey Of An Odyssey Trip Of My Own
During an Odyssey trip of my own, I will be travelling to three different countries doing different
things while I am there to visit. My first destination is London, United Kingdom while there I will
be visiting the London Eye, Tower Bridge, and Trafalgar Square. My second place of interest for
travel is Paris, France. While there to contain the boredom I will be a part of the tourist attractions
such as the Eiffel Tower, Canal Saint–Martin, and the Place des Vosges. Third in my plane route is
Barcelona, Spain. There to experience the beauty of their country, I will be looking at the Magic
Fountain of Montjuic; Placa de Catalunya and the Sagrat Cor. London is the first destination on my
list. While there I will be staying at the Kensington Close hotel a three and a half star rating out of
five rating. With the flight included in the price the flight to London and a hotel for 2 days is a total
of $2,197 leaving $7,803 left to spend on the rest of the trip. After checking into the hotel sooner or
later I will be visiting the London Eye by bus for $1.50 one way (total of $9.00 for all transportation
by bus). The London Eye is a large Ferris wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames in London,
With its outstanding view many people often take it to see what London looks like from the sky, also
known as the "highest viewing point in London" states Wikipedia "The structure is 135 metres (443
ft) tall and the wheel has a diameter of 120 metres (394 ft)." This attraction

Chanel
Establishment and recognition: 1909 through 1920s
In 1909, Gabrielle Chanel opened a shop on the ground floor of Étienne Balsan's apartment in Paris–
the beginnings of what would later become one of the greatest fashion empires in the world.[1] The
Balsan home was a meeting place of the hunting elite of France and the gentlemen brought their
fashionable mistresses along, giving Coco the opportunity to sell the women decorated hats. During
this time, Coco Chanel struck up a relationship with Arthur 'Boy' Capel, a member of the Balsan
men's group.
He saw a businesswoman in Coco and helped her acquire her location at 31 Rue Cambon in Paris by
1910.[1] There was already a couture shop in the building, and so Coco was not allowed in her lease

[edit]Chanel and Nazi affiliation: 1930s through 1950s
Evening couture dresses from Chanel evolved into an elongated feminine style.[1] Summer dresses
had contrasting scintillating touches (e.g. rhinestone straps and silver eyelets).[1] Coco designed a
line for petite women in 1937.[1] Throughout the 1930s, Elsa Schiaparelli was competing more
strongly with the House of Chanel, but this was only a short term rivalry. Chanel premiered an
exhibition of jewelry in 1932 dedicated to the diamond. Several of the pieces, including the "Comet"
and "Fountain" necklaces were re–introduced by Chanel in 1993. When World War II began in
1939, Coco Chanel retired and moved into the Hôtel Ritz Paris with her new beau, Nazi officer Hans
Gunther von Dincklage.[1][3][5] Only her parfums and accessories were sold in her existing
boutiques.
When France fell under the control of Adolf Hitler's Nazi Germany in 1940, the Nazis made the
opulent and exclusive Hotel Meurice (Le Meurice), located on the Rue du Rivoli opposite the
Louvre, their French headquarters. It was coincidentally and uncomfortably close (just right around

Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts (FSH) always prided itself on being the choice for a luxury hotel
experience. Since its inception date in 1960, FSH expanded its renowned services to include the
current number of 67 hotels in 30 different countries with continued expansion in progress. FSH
attributed its success to its organizational culture, which did, and continues to embody, the
dedication to great service and luxury hospitality. Part of this culture is to recognize that the
employees are the key to success, and that in following the "Golden Rule", do unto others, as you

How would Paris, employees, and customers receive the new FS administration? Would the values
and standards of the company be compatible with those held by French culture? The question was to
decide what to keep and what could be changed in their strategy when considering the elements of
the French national culture and legal aspects. The advantages that FSH had on its side were
experience; they had already been successful in other 23 countries reaching this balance using the
diversity–singularity strategy, flexibility, they have shown setting an ever reducing number of
standards while increasing focus on their goals, and a strong set of values. The success of the firm
could mean entering a highly profitable market, improving the image as a high–level luxury hotel
and the reinforcement of confidence for the top management team about how operations were being
run. If it were a failure, the company would lose an investment of $125 million, two years of work,
and possibly damage their image in a very competitive environment. Two main factors that could
conspire against its success were national culture and legal issues. Even though FSH already had
some experience through its operations in Canada and the Pierre Hotel in New York City (are we
sure about the "French" culture at the hotel in NY? Pg 8 ) in dealing with these elements, the FS
George V was a new challenge all together. In dealing with a national culture as

Essay on Georges Auguste Escoffier
REPORT ON: GEORGES AUGUSTE ESCOFFIER
George August Escoffier, later known simply as Auguste Escoffier, was born on October 28, 1846,
in the small village of Villeneuve–Loubet, near Nice, in the Provence region of France. Among the
key figures in his life was his father, who worked primarily as a blacksmith, yet also cultivated
tobacco plants. His grandmother, an enthusiastic cook, was perhaps more responsible than anyone
for instilling in young August an appreciation for cooking.
Young Escoffier attended the local school until age 12, upon which time his father thought it
necessary that his son learn a trade. His father took him to Nice, where he would work as an
apprentice in his uncle's restaurant, Le Restaurant Francais.

It was during this period when Escoffier began publishing his culinary works. He began with Le
Guide Culinaire in 1903, comprised of over 5,000 recipes and garnish preparations. He also wrote
Le Livre Des Menus ("The Book of Menus"), and Ma Cuisine ("My Cuisine") in 1934.
In 1920, at the age of 73, Escoffier moved back to Monte Carlo with his wife. His intention was to
retire. However, he continued to work, collaborating and consulting on several projects, including
another casino in Upper Monte Carlo. He died in 1935, at the age of 89, only days after the death of
his wife. Escoffier's most noted career achievements are revolutionizing and modernizing the menu,
the codification of of cooking techniques and the organization of the professional kitchen (Simon,
2001).
I discovered Escoffier when I open Bouchon Bistro Lyonnais, in 1998. I was approached by my
private chef, Thierry Aubert, with a copy of Saveur Magazine, with an article entitled "The
Bouchons of Lyon." We traveled to Lyon together, collecting menus from many of the bouchons in
Old Lyon. During that trip I purchased several cook books, one of which was Le Guide Culinaire. It
was in that book that we found most of the recipes for Bouchon's first menu. I have always been
drawn to traditional French cuisine, and this book has been my Bible for years. It was in this book
that I learned about cross–utilization of ingredients and sauces. I continue to

Transients In Arcadia Summary
"I wanted to live one week like a rich lady. I wanted to get up in the morning when I wished. I
wanted to be served by waiters. I wanted to have the best of everything [...] I've been happier than I
ever was before." (Henry Pg. 65) In society people want to live more comfortable life and when this
is not achieved they try to change their identity and their appearance to look wealthy. However, in
reality individuals are usually not judged by their fortune, but by what they say and how well they
act. In the short story 'Transients in Arcadia', the author, O. Henry, tries to incorporate the theme of

She bought herself an expensive dress to make herself look no less than a queen. Madame
Beaumont "would wear a beautiful dress" every day to dinner, "She was beautiful and her manner

tell about it. [.....] you thought of Paris when you saw it, and of theater and of old romances" (Henry
Pg.63). By associating her dress to the city of Paris, the author explains to the reader that by wearing
the dress, Madame Beaumont looked exquisite, rich and beautiful like Paris. She is regarded as a
regal figure by both the visitors of the Hotel and its representatives. She is viewed as the last touch
of female restrictiveness and magnificence that renders the company flawless and bring the waiters
to battle amongst each other for the honor of serving her, it turns out to be extremely clear that
Madame Beaumont has a special place at the Hotel Lotus. The author describes Harold Farrington's
appearance as, "His clothes were quiet but good. His face was pleasant. His expression was that of a
man who had traveled and could understand the world." (Henry Pg.64) With the help of Harrold
Farrington's appearance it seemed the "...young man belonged perfectly in the quiet life of the

The Theme Of Power In The Novel 'Behind Closed Doors'
In the novel, Behind Closed Doors written by B.A. Paris., Power is the focal point of the text which
is betrayed by the antagonist, Jack Angel, whom uses power to manipulate the protagonist, Grace.
Paris uses Jack to shine a light a societal issue that is dealt with on a daily basis. Paris is able to
illustrate patriarchy through the power demonstrated by Jack and the position that he has on Grace
which makes him the one always a few steps ahead of her. Power is illustrated through the language
and dialogue between the characters as well as word choice. The author's purpose of the work as a
whole is focused on Paris' concern social issue on male authority and inequality or feminism and
patriarchy. Paris presents these beliefs she used to convey the ultimate or the overall meaning of the
text through the main characters as well as through tone, voice and the author's writing style.
However, the author utilizes the antagonist, Jack Angel, to support the idea of patriarchy through the
power that Jack has to imprison the mind of his target, Grace. Power is demonstrated by the grasp
that Jack has on Grace's life especially through his authorical role in the book. The power behind
Jack's words or threats that he makes towards Grace are believed due to the fact that Grace can be
easily manipulated. The dialogue carries between the main characters is an example of the power a
man would have over a women. The tone of the novel helps to imply that there is a voice of

Our Journey through the City of Paris at Night
Paris is a beautiful city during the day, but at night, it changes. The first thing that is seen are all the
lights from the shops, buildings and streetlights. These lights brighten up Paris and give it a different
but just as beautiful perspective at night. The Eiffel Tower, one of the top attractions in Paris that
tourists come to see can be described as an iron, lace work of art, and the most recognized structure
in the world, and at night with the glow of its lights, it stands out like a guiding lighthouse. We could
see this beautiful tower wherever we stood day or night. My choir group was invited to sing in some
of the cathedrals in Paris. One night after we had a concert and had dinner, our tour guide gave us an
option of either staying on the bus or getting off and taking a tour down the Seine River to see the
Eiffel Tower at night. If we should choose this option, we needed to find a different way back to the
hotel as the bus driver was not going to come back for us. My family and a few others chose to take
the tour down the river. On the boat, we could see different buildings, museums and the Eiffel
Tower. On the tour, we also passed under the famous bridges in Paris. Two of the buildings I
remember viewing were the Louvre, and Norte Dame. From the boat, I could also see the Louvre
pyramid which sits in the courtyard of the Louvre Palace. The Louvre Pyramid is a large glass and
metal pyramid, surrounded by three smaller pyramids. The

Four interviews were held with every potential employee to get an idea as to whether the candidate
could live up to Four Seasons ' philosophy. Therefore, attitude and willingness to adapt to the
corporate culture were valued higher than prior experience. Moreover, they also hired staff with
prior Four Seasons / U.S. experience to bring American and French culture closer together and
reduce prejudice. Cross–Cultural Risks Four Seasons ensures a smooth opening for each new hotel
by assigning a special "task force" of experienced Four Seasons managers to help establish norms
and train staff. The task force that was put into action for Paris had to stay twice as long as for any
other opening (seven to eight weeks rather than three). Responsible for this were the strong
differences between the North American and the French culture. For example, French managers
would not take the same accountability for decisions and policies as North American managers, they
valued human relationships higher than punctuality and performance evaluations turned out to be
somewhat difficult, since addressing problems directly was not appreciated in the French culture. As
a recognition and evaluation program Four Seasons launched employee–of–the–month and
employee–of–the–year programs, as well as an annual evaluation, both uncommon in France, but
crucial management tools with Four Seasons. The high expectations for food and beverages in

Four Seasons Goes to Paris

Four Seasons Goes to Paris: "53 Properties, 24 Countries, 1 Philosophy"
Europe is different from North America, and Paris is very different. I did not say difficult. I said
different. – A senior Four Seasons manager In 2002, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts was arguably
the world's leading operator of luxury hotels, managing 53 properties in 24 countries and delivering
what observers called "consistently exceptional service." For Four Seasons, that meant providing
high–quality, truly personalized service to enable guests to maximize the value of their time,
however the guest defined doing so. In 1999, Four Seasons opened the Four Seasons Hotel George

A manager who stayed on with Four Seasons described the Four Seasons due diligence team that
came to the property as "very professional and not pretentious; detail oriented; and interested in
people. They did not come telling me that all I did was wrong," he remembered, "and showed a lot
of compassion." Excuses were not tolerated at Four Seasons: "Oh, but we have just been open a
year" or "The people here do not understand" were not acceptable statements. Customer service
extended to all levels in the organization: managers routinely helped clear restaurant tables in
passing. Strong allegiance to the firm Four Seasons' top management team was noted for its
longevity, many having been at the firm for over 25 years. Both corporate and field managers often
referred to the firm as a "family," complete with rules, traditions, and tough love. There was a strong
"one firm sentiment." For example, as one general manager explained, "We are happy to let stars go
to other properties to help them."

Hrm 531 Week 6 Case Study Hotel Incentive Plan
1. Because employers typically make benefits available to all employees, they may not have the
motivational effects of incentive plans. Given this, list five employee behaviors you believe Hotel
Paris could try to improve through an enhanced benefits plan, and explain why you chose them.
Five employee behaviors that The Hotel Paris could try to improve through an enhanced benefits
plans are absentee rate, morale and commitment, turnover rate, healthier workforce, and better job
performance. These behaviors show the best opportunity for improvement. One of the most
important factors for The Hotel Paris to run a successful hotel is to keep employees happy and give
them enough incentive to maximize their productivity. One of the ways to do this, as noted in this
case study, is to offer employee benefits that go above industry standards. By offering added
benefits similar to their competitor Marriott's "BENETRADE," (Dessler, 2013, p. 452) the hotel can

If this continues to happen, it will become hard for the hotel to develop a veteran team of experts as
Lisa put it, the employees "could come to work and give their full attention to giving [the hotel]

distractions." The enhanced benefits plan will attract employees who are interested in establishing a
long–term working relationship. This would also reduce costs associated with overtime pay and
hiring temporary help (Dessler, 2013, p. 452). Knowledge and skill are embedded in the employees,
whose productivity relies on their health. Healthier employees are important for productivity and the
hotel's overalls performance. If the hotel invests in their employees, it will show they have their best

Essay on The Atmosphere Entertainment Program at the Paris...
The atmosphere entertainment program at the Paris Las Vegas should, at its base, reflect the duality
of the property: the artistry and classicism of the French methods of entertaining and living with the
sensual allure and thrilling vibe of the Las Vegas Strip. Orion Productions proposes three variable
programs, all which can be interchanged and combined to accommodate for high and lower traffic
days and special casino and hotel promotions. Both male and female dancers will be enlisted for the
program, to capture the romantic ambiance of a Parisian interlude or getaway. Each one of the
performers will be chosen by Paris Las Vegas' management through a casting call, and only
performers expressly selected by management will be featured in ... Show more content on

The second of these strategic "hotspots" will be by the pool area, with the female dancers costumed
in bikinis and sarongs, and males in towels. The numbers will reflect the "heat" of the Las Vegas sun
and the refreshment of the pool area, and will resemble the ambiance of San Tropez or the French
Riviera in its scintillation and richness. The third of these will be a classic dinner show themed
dances, featuring high fashion evening gowns and classic, crisp tuxedos, and will be stationed
around some of the property's restaurants, including Mon Ami Gabi, Les Artistes Steakhouse, and
Le Village Buffet.
These numbers will be performed four to six times daily around these locations.
Variation 2:
This variation will revolve around a runway built on a bank of slot machines. The runway will serve
as the stage for a short show featuring three female dancers and two male dancers, and will be an
entirely dance–centered production, blending the modernity and sexuality of the Pussycat Dolls with
classic "X"–style, French technique. Ambient lighting and themed scenery will also be incorporated
into the stage area.
The base of the runway will feature three shadow screens and a set of plasma screen televisions to

Auguste Escoffier Essay
Auguste Escoffier
Auguste Escoffier was born on October 28, 1846, in the village of Villeneuve–Loubet, France. He
was the son of Jean–Baptiste Escoffier and his wife Madeleine Civatte. His father was the villages

after he celebrated his first Holy Communion Escoffier was told he was going to be a cook.

After discharging from the army once again Escoffier returned to Nice and spent the winter season

Behind Closed Doors Analysis
Behind Closed Doors: Power In the novel, Behind Closed Doors written by B.A. Paris., power is the
focal point of the text portrayed by the antagonist, Jack Angel, whom uses power to manipulate the
protagonist, Grace. Paris uses Jack to shine a light on a societal issue dealt with on a daily basis.
Paris is able to illustrate patriarchy through the power demonstrated by Jack and the position that he
has on Grace which makes him the one always a few steps ahead of her. Power is illustrated through
the language and dialogue between the characters as well as word choice. The author's purpose of
the work as a whole focuses on Paris' concern about a social issue on male authority and inequality
or feminism and patriarchy. Paris presents these beliefs she uses to convey the ultimate or the
overall meaning of the text through the main characters as well as through tone, voice and the
author's writing style. The author utilizes Jack Angel to support the idea of patriarchy through the
power that Jack has to imprison the mind of his target, Grace. Power demonstrates the grasp that
Jack has on Grace's life, especially through his authorical role in the book. The power behind Jack's
words or threats that he makes towards Grace are taken seriously power due to the fact that Grace
can be easily manipulated. The dialogue carries between the main characters is an example of the
power a man would have over a woman. The tone of the novel helps to imply that there is a voice of

They should have researched and learned from their mistakes mainly in the area of advertisement
since the 3 parks started out with great fanfare but soon failed. Disney did an overall poor job in
various areas of the parks planning and lot of the issues of Euro Disney 's business plan can relate to
its location.
A serious economic recession was affecting Europe at the time of Euro Disney 's opening. Maybe it
was bad timing, or maybe Disney chose the wrong location to put a 20+ billion dollar theme park
that required a lot of Europeans money just to stay afloat. Unfortunately, the chance of that
happening was slim due to such a recession. The recession didn 't terribly impact attendance, but it
impacted visitors spending patterns and lengths of stay. Disney theme parks are a tourist trap to
spend money and Euro Disney was no different. It had retail shops with jewelry, fancy multi course
restaurants, and high prices hotels. Visitors were very price conscious when visiting the park. This
suggested that visitors living within a 2–4 hour drive were far different from those who traveled
overseas in spending ability and awareness. Those taking a trip to the U.S. were far more prepared
to spend money at Disney parks and in more of a position to do so. Those traveling shorter distances
to visit a similar park did so to visit the park, not go on shopping sprees. Disney did not

Yes, Las Vegas has a monorail, and if you have ever visited Disneyland, then you are familiar with

The first thing you need to know about the monorail is that is should not be confused with the rams
that operate on the west side of the strip. If you have ever visited Disneyland, then you are familiar
with what they are. The Las Vegas monorail moves along the backside of several hotels. A portion of

There are seven stations or stops on the monorail system. The monorails operate on two tracks
moving in opposite directions, and the monorail will automatically stop at each of the seven stations
traveling in either direction. The monorail system moves north to south and vice versa, and it
stretches from the MGM hotel to the SLS hotel (This used to be the Sahara). For whatever reason,
when this monorail system was designed, they placed it far from the main areas of the Strip. The
result is that there can be a lot of walking get to and from a monorail station, depending upon your

Descriptive Essay About Summer Vacation
Over summer vacation, my family and I, including my cousins and grandparents, went to Las Vegas.
One of my favorite places there was going to Paris Las Vegas. It was almost sunset and my cousins
and I were getting ready to go to Paris Las Vegas. I put on my shoes and was ready to walk out of
our hotel room door right when my mom stopped me and told me to wear a jacket. Even though it
was still summer, the nights in Las Vegas got cold. Once everyone was ready my cousins and I ran
to the car. It was almost sunset and my cousin really wanted to see the sunset in the mini eiffel tower
at the hotel. Once we got on the road, we got trapped in a sea of cars, busses, and other vehicles. My
cousin clasped her hands over her ears. The loud city noises blared through the streets. It was hard to
imagine that one city in the middle of a desert became one of the most popular resort cities in the
world. As we were driving up to the hotel, we saw a gleaming mini eiffel tower on top of a elegant
building. I knew that it was the french themed hotel, Paris. After getting through the traffic, my dad
parked the car in the parking lot at the hotel. We took an elevator up to the 2nd floor, and when we
got there, I was amazed at what stood in front of me. The interior of the hotel looked just like Paris.
The roof had been painted with puffy white clouds that looked so realistic. The ground was paved
with smooth, shiny, black stone. There were street lamps that are like the ones in France. There

This is suggested from the 'Nancy and Harvey Heffner' experience. 'When the couple's son became
sick hotel staff brought him tea at all hours of night.' This implies that all departments (restaurant,
reception, room service) were involved and worked very closely with each other to provide this
service.
The feedback is very important part in the transformational process as it allows continues
improvement to be made after receiving customers' feedbacks. This therefore will inevitably
minimise any complaints in the future. The examples of collecting feedback from the customers can
be by surveys of departing guests, comment cards, telephone surveys, oral feedback between the
customer and the staff. 'Some 94% report that they've had a truly memorable experience.' (case
study)
In hotel operations there is a balance between the facilities and staff as one cannot function without
another. When looking at the model above, the transformation processes such as materials,
information and customers are closely connected with the nature of its transformed input resources.
Ritz–Carlton's operations, processes their materials such as food, linen etc. in order to give services
such as food serving in the restaurant to satisfy the customers. They also process and store the

Moreover, Four Seasons' corporation culture has accelerated the firm to adapt the culture where it
targets. Following points are the list of Four Seasons' corporate culture. One of the Four Seasons'
strength is diversity. The firm can adapt to the country where they expand to. "Unlike Disney, whose
brand name is so strongly associated with the United States, Four Seasons' brand doesn't rigidly
define what the product is." Four Seasons is different. It adapts to the country wherever their branch
is located. It follows "Italian in Italy, French in France" mindset. Instead of restricting themselves to
the one distinct image of the brand, Four Seasons alters itself to the country they expanded to. It
allows guests to be aware that they are in the country where they traveled. One of the other strength
of Four Seasons is the policies that it incorporates for managing the staffs. Four Seasons uses "The
Seven Four Seasons Service Culture Standards" which is there for all staffs all over the world are
expected to follow. This policy derives employees to greet the guests in a good manner; it also

Descriptive Essay About The Wedding
So you want to know what the title means stay here and you can see. My grandparents decided to
surprised me with a trip going to Scotland, London, then Paris. When this happened I was overjoyed
because I was going to be able to see my cousins and one was getting married when we were there.
This trip was a two week trip from Aug. 31 to July 12. Before we left, my mom gave me a visa gift
card so I would able to buy stuff. I went to go use it and I noticed that I could only use it in the
USA. When we got there, we got settled in at our family's place. The first night we had fish and

My second cousin was getting married when we were there so we were there for her. They had their
wedding by the North Sea. The weather for the wedding was perfect, but it rained when we were
walking to the after party where we had a fun time. On the wedding day, my third cousin, named
Hannah, did my hair for the wedding. During the wedding all of the males in the wedding wore
kilts. We walked around in four different castles in Scotland and they all looked very similar. The
castle I liked the best was the one in Inchcolm. When we were there my papa could not wait for
bangers and mash. When we were shopping and walking around Edinburgh we saw Scottish bagpipe
player.
After all of this which was a week we went to London. The first night

Analyzing The Death Of Princess Diana
When it comes to the topic of the death of Princess Diana, most people will readily agree that her
death was just an accident that was unfortunately catastrophic; however, contradicting evidence
reveals that the death of Princess Diana was a part of a larger plot. Where this argument ends,
however, is on the question of why was their barely any security at the Ritz Hotel, why was Henri
Pauls alcohol level so high, and why did the Parisian authorities take so long to provide medical
attention to Princess Diana? Many people assume that all of these questions are citizens being
paranoid; still other experts come to the conclusion that this was the plan of British intelligence to
"deal" with their future queen marrying a Muslim. One argument in favor of a conspiracy
surrounding Princess Diana's death is that The Ritz Hotel in Pairs should have had more security.

At the time of the accident Dr. Mailliez arrived at the scene, when he saw Diana he immediately
went over to her and gently lifted her head so she would be able breathe. Dr. Mailliez said that after
he made sure Diana could breathe he called the emergency hotline and soon after the ambulance
arrived. As the ambulance arrived Dr. Mailliaz made sure Diana wasn't going to choke herself and
put her on oxygen. As Dr. Mailliaz left the scene although he knew Diana had internal bleeding he
was confident that she was going to be fine. French reports give a brief summary of the process that
took place in order to try to save Diana. Dr. Mailliaz stated that "all of the necessary operations were
handed at the scene and unfortunately that was not enough,"( Douglass and Sutton). Princess Diana
was rushed to La Pitie Salpetriere Hospital and the doctors tried all they could to save the

French Essays About Holidays
During my last vacation I went to France. My mum arranged this tour for me and my friends. We
travelled there by plane. We went France last summer. So the weather was bright and hot around 23–
30 degrees. It was the best weather for camping but we stayed in Champs Elysees hotel. It was the
most luxurious hotel I ever been. There was an attached toilet, TV lounge, bed room, balcony and
wardrobes in my room.
We visited Eiffel tower. The view of the Paris from Eiffel tower is fantastic because I saw taller
buildings as ants. on the second day we went walked in world's most famous avenue Champs–
ELysees. It was a great street to those who love walking and shopping. I bought few souvenirs for
my family and friends in England.

E. W. Grove Research Papers

  • 1. E. W. Grove Research Papers There are a number of famous people from Paris, but the famous Parisian I chose to do my project on was E.W. Grove. There are several reasons why I chose Grove to do my project on. One reason is that he founded Grove school. Another is that he founded and put many projects in place for many building around the U.S. Finally, I chose him because when I was doing my research on him, he seemed to have a very interesting life. E.W. Grove Edwin Wiley Grove, better known as E.W. Grove, was born in Hardeman County, Tennessee in 1850. His parents were Mary Jane Harris and James Henry Grove, though he was raised by his aunt, Peggy Traylor. In 1815 Grove married Mary Louisa Moore and they had 2 daughters, but she died and he went on to marry Alice Gertrude Mattewson and they had 3 children. At the age of 24 Grove moved to Paris, Tennessee. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Grove. Finally, Edwin Wiley Grove endowed Presbyterian Churches. Edwin Wiley Grove is most famous for the creation of Grove's Tasteless Chill Tonic and the Development of Asheville. Though he never received any awards his actions have left a lasting impact on society through E.W. Grove High school and the many buildings he has founded that are still in use today. • 3. The Journey Of An Odyssey Trip Of My Own During an Odyssey trip of my own, I will be travelling to three different countries doing different things while I am there to visit. My first destination is London, United Kingdom while there I will be visiting the London Eye, Tower Bridge, and Trafalgar Square. My second place of interest for travel is Paris, France. While there to contain the boredom I will be a part of the tourist attractions such as the Eiffel Tower, Canal Saint–Martin, and the Place des Vosges. Third in my plane route is Barcelona, Spain. There to experience the beauty of their country, I will be looking at the Magic Fountain of Montjuic; Placa de Catalunya and the Sagrat Cor. London is the first destination on my list. While there I will be staying at the Kensington Close hotel a three and a half star rating out of five rating. With the flight included in the price the flight to London and a hotel for 2 days is a total of $2,197 leaving $7,803 left to spend on the rest of the trip. After checking into the hotel sooner or later I will be visiting the London Eye by bus for $1.50 one way (total of $9.00 for all transportation by bus). The London Eye is a large Ferris wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames in London, With its outstanding view many people often take it to see what London looks like from the sky, also known as the "highest viewing point in London" states Wikipedia "The structure is 135 metres (443 ft) tall and the wheel has a diameter of 120 metres (394 ft)." Chanel Establishment and recognition: 1909 through 1920s In 1909, Gabrielle Chanel opened a shop on the ground floor of Étienne Balsan's apartment in Paris– the beginnings of what would later become one of the greatest fashion empires in the world.[1] The Balsan home was a meeting place of the hunting elite of France and the gentlemen brought their fashionable mistresses along, giving Coco the opportunity to sell the women decorated hats. During this time, Coco Chanel struck up a relationship with Arthur 'Boy' Capel, a member of the Balsan men's group. He saw a businesswoman in Coco and helped her acquire her location at 31 Rue Cambon in Paris by 1910.[1] There was already a couture shop in the building, and so Coco was not allowed in her lease ... [edit]Chanel and Nazi affiliation: 1930s through 1950s Evening couture dresses from Chanel evolved into an elongated feminine style.[1] Summer dresses had contrasting scintillating touches (e.g. rhinestone straps and silver eyelets).[1] Coco designed a line for petite women in 1937.[1] Throughout the 1930s, Elsa Schiaparelli was competing more strongly with the House of Chanel, but this was only a short term rivalry. Chanel premiered an exhibition of jewelry in 1932 dedicated to the diamond. Several of the pieces, including the "Comet" and "Fountain" necklaces were re–introduced by Chanel in 1993. When World War II began in 1939, Coco Chanel retired and moved into the Hôtel Ritz Paris with her new beau, Nazi officer Hans Gunther von Dincklage.[1][3][5] Only her parfums and accessories were sold in her existing boutiques. Four Seasons Goes to Paris Essay Four Seasons Goes to Paris: "53 Properties, 24 Countries, 1 Philosophy" GROUP#2 November 27, 2005 Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts (FSH) always prided itself on being the choice for a luxury hotel experience. Since its inception date in 1960, FSH expanded its renowned services to include the current number of 67 hotels in 30 different countries with continued expansion in progress. FSH attributed its success to its organizational culture, which did, and continues to embody, the dedication to great service and luxury hospitality. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... How would Paris, employees, and customers receive the new FS administration? Would the values and standards of the company be compatible with those held by French culture? The question was to decide what to keep and what could be changed in their strategy when considering the elements of the French national culture and legal aspects. The advantages that FSH had on its side were experience; they had already been successful in other 23 countries reaching this balance using the diversity–singularity strategy, flexibility, they have shown setting an ever reducing number of standards while increasing focus on their goals, and a strong set of values. The success of the firm could mean entering a highly profitable market, improving the image as a high–level luxury hotel and the reinforcement of confidence for the top management team about how operations were being run. If it were a failure, the company would lose an investment of $125 million, two years of work, and possibly damage their image in a very competitive environment. Two main factors that could conspire against its success were national culture and legal issues. Even though FSH already had some experience through its operations in Canada and the Pierre Hotel in New York City (are we sure about the "French" culture at the hotel in NY? Essay on Georges Auguste Escoffier REPORT ON: GEORGES AUGUSTE ESCOFFIER George August Escoffier, later known simply as Auguste Escoffier, was born on October 28, 1846, in the small village of Villeneuve–Loubet, near Nice, in the Provence region of France. Among the key figures in his life was his father, who worked primarily as a blacksmith, yet also cultivated tobacco plants. His grandmother, an enthusiastic cook, was perhaps more responsible than anyone for instilling in young August an appreciation for cooking. Young Escoffier attended the local school until age 12, upon which time his father thought it necessary that his son learn a trade. His intention was to retire. However, he continued to work, collaborating and consulting on several projects, including another casino in Upper Monte Carlo. He died in 1935, at the age of 89, only days after the death of his wife. Escoffier's most noted career achievements are revolutionizing and modernizing the menu, the codification of of cooking techniques and the organization of the professional kitchen (Simon, 2001). I discovered Escoffier when I open Bouchon Bistro Lyonnais, in 1998. I was approached by my private chef, Thierry Aubert, with a copy of Saveur Magazine, with an article entitled "The Bouchons of Lyon." We traveled to Lyon together, collecting menus from many of the bouchons in Old Lyon. During that trip I purchased several cook books, one of which was Le Guide Culinaire. It was in that book that we found most of the recipes for Bouchon's first menu. I have always been drawn to traditional French cuisine, and this book has been my Bible for years. It was in this book that I learned about cross–utilization of ingredients and sauces. I continue to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The first thing that is seen are all the lights from the shops, buildings and streetlights. These lights brighten up Paris and give it a different but just as beautiful perspective at night. The Eiffel Tower, one of the top attractions in Paris that tourists come to see can be described as an iron, lace work of art, and the most recognized structure in the world, and at night with the glow of its lights, it stands out like a guiding lighthouse. We could see this beautiful tower wherever we stood day or night. My choir group was invited to sing in some of the cathedrals in Paris. One night after we had a concert and had dinner, our tour guide gave us an option of either staying on the bus or getting off and taking a tour down the Seine River to see the Eiffel Tower at night. If we should choose this option, we needed to find a different way back to the hotel as the bus driver was not going to come back for us. My family and a few others chose to take the tour down the river. On the boat, we could see different buildings, museums and the Eiffel Tower. On the tour, we also passed under the famous bridges in Paris. Two of the buildings I remember viewing were the Louvre, and Norte Dame. From the boat, I could also see the Louvre pyramid which sits in the courtyard of the Louvre Palace. The Louvre Pyramid is a large glass and metal pyramid, surrounded by three smaller pyramids. Disney did an overall poor job in various areas of the parks planning and lot of the issues of Euro Disney 's business plan can relate to its location. A serious economic recession was affecting Europe at the time of Euro Disney 's opening. Maybe it was bad timing, or maybe Disney chose the wrong location to put a 20+ billion dollar theme park that required a lot of Europeans money just to stay afloat. Unfortunately, the chance of that happening was slim due to such a recession. The recession didn 't terribly impact attendance, but it impacted visitors spending patterns and lengths of stay. Disney theme parks are a tourist trap to spend money and Euro Disney was no different. It had retail shops with jewelry, fancy multi course restaurants, and high prices hotels. Visitors were very price conscious when visiting the park. This suggested that visitors living within a 2–4 hour drive were far different from those who traveled overseas in spending ability and awareness. Those taking a trip to the U.S. were far more prepared to spend money at Disney parks and in more of a position to do so. As we were driving up to the hotel, we saw a gleaming mini eiffel tower on top of a elegant building. I knew that it was the french themed hotel, Paris. After getting through the traffic, my dad parked the car in the parking lot at the hotel. We took an elevator up to the 2nd floor, and when we got there, I was amazed at what stood in front of me. The feedback is very important part in the transformational process as it allows continues improvement to be made after receiving customers' feedbacks. This therefore will inevitably minimise any complaints in the future. The examples of collecting feedback from the customers can be by surveys of departing guests, comment cards, telephone surveys, oral feedback between the customer and the staff.
