Title of Paper Uses Upper and Lower Case
Title of Paper Uses Upper and Lower Case Student A. Name Westwood College Abstract An
abstract is a statement summarizing the important points of a paper. Typically they are used for long
research papers. An acceptable length for an abstract is between 150 and 250 words. The text should
be double–spaced, the font should be Times New Roman and the margins should be 1 inch. Most
classes do not require an abstract. If you are not required an abstract, simply delete this page. Title

Dealing with this disorder gives some of us purpose and patience. It can be very trying because of
all the obstacles that lie ahead. Parents bear the brunt of the family responsibility with mothers often
feeling the impact of their child's autism more personally than others. Having an open and honest
discussion with all who are involved about future care is important so that everyone is not worrying
unnecessarily. (Daniels, 2009, para. 6) Again, the above is an example of a block quotation, a quote
that is word for word taken from a source and is over 40 words long. Finally, the reference page

Deaf Assessment
Throughout each assessment, my use of academic language was centered around unfamiliar
vocabulary. As stated before, children who are deaf and hard of hearing need to be taught
vocabulary directly. Research published by Cooke and Luckner stated that that the vocabulary
knowledge of students who are deaf or hard of hearing is quantitatively reduced as compared to that
of typical hearing peers. (2010, American Annals of the Deaf) Assessment number one focused on
identifying colors and the vocabulary words: sort and group. The students had to sort the leaves into
two or three categories (groups) using color as a key attribute. Assessment number two focused on
the vocabulary: big and little. The words of "big and little" were used as a backdown ... Show more

My rational is based on my role as a hearing itinerant. A hearing itinerant can only provide services
for children who are deaf and hard of hearing for the following subjects: reading, auditory training,

Teaching Is The Easiest Job
Teaching is one of the most well known careers known to man; it has existed for centuries and
probably has existed since the beginning of humanity. Thus, many may think it is very simple to get
in front of a group (class) and lecture about a certain topic. When in actuality it is not, it is very
complicated having to get up in front of a class especially if you're a shy person not used to the
concept of talking in front of a large group of people; I have faced a similar challenge, and steadily
overcoming the fears associated with teaching.
Over the summer I worked with students at a local school called Hanley International Academy, I
taught ladies that were older than me, and are ESL; I honestly thought it was the easiest job ever
prior to starting. However, I started to understand that teaching needs time and explaining within the
time I worked I took everything serious. Before beginning any teaching, I had to assist each
student's ability to understand English. Then, I started off with very simple assignments. When
teaching ESL students the first step is to explain what the alphabet, how much are letters are in the
alphabets, and how to use them. Then you have to teach them how to write them when they have
understood how to read and write then you must move on to the next concept. That doesn't mean to
forget about it completely. Next, you say the alphabets and let them read after you until they have
pronounced it perfectly. Then start with the next step I made

Concepts of Print Essay
Each of the children did very well with identifying concepts of a book the first child that we will
look at is 6 years old. She goes to kindergarten all day and has grown up with many books around.
She was able to hold the book right side up for me, show me the front cover, and show me the back
cover. She was also able to show me the title page of the book. Lastly she was able to show me the
first page of the text. Although she did do a good job of pointing out some main parts of the book
she did struggle with a couple others. She wasn't able to turn some of the pages of the books she
would skip three or four at a time. She also had a hard time pointing to the title of the book if it was
not in the top of the cover. Lastly the child could ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Brenden Case Study In Psychology
Brenden was observed on October 4th, 2016. Brenden, his mother, Ms. Ricci, and his father, Mr.
Strange, as well as the B.A.T clinical team were present to conduct a descriptive functional
assessment, which consisted of direct observation of behavior and an Antecedent–Behavior–
Consequence (ABC) narrative recording in the family home.
Upon arrival, the B.A.T. clinical team greeted Ms. Ricci at the door. Ms. Ricci directed the clinical
team to the family room, where Brenden was smiling and laughing with his father (Mr. Strange), as
the two played with a toy. Based on concerns stated in the initial appointment, by Ms. Ricci, the
clinical team probed several skills. Greetings were probed first. The clinical team greeted Mr.

Listener responding was probed next. Brenden was able to looked 80% of time (or 8 out of 10
times) at his communicative partner. Then, the clinical team presented Brenden with playdoh. Fine
motor skills where probed during playdoh activity, using playdoh scissors. Brenden was observed to
have difficulty griping and using Playdoh scissors. Body parts where probed, he was successful at
labeling his body parts (i.e. eyes, nose, ears, head, mouth, etc.). More communication skills were
probed. He struggled with "What questions" with actions, he just echoed questions (i.e. "What are
you doing?"). Colors where probed. Brenden was successful at labeling colors on his toys and
clothing. Then, personal questions were probed, he knew his name, age, and parents as mommy and
daddy. Finally, Brenden was observed to ask for attention by saying "Look" and upon departure, he
said, "Bye" with no assistance/prompts.
The clinical team concluded the observation and disclosed the A–B–C narrative collected with his
parents, as well as some of the behaviors observed. The duration of this observation was for

My Field Experience At Cc Spaulding Elementary School
Over the Fall Break vacation, I decided to conduct my field experience at CC Spaulding Elementary
School. I had the opportunity to work with Ms. Sarah Ashley and Mrs. Williams' Pre–K class. I had
previously shadowed with Ms. Ashley, so she was eager to welcome me back. Over the days, I got
myself acquainted with her students to make them comfortable with my presence. Luckily, they
welcomed me in with no hesitation. After settling in, Ms. Ashley and I discussed my schedule and
the activities that I would be completing while there. One activity I observed on my first day was
how the students interacted with one another during outside play time. One thing that I did notice
during play time was that the girls of the same ethnicity only played with each other. To give some
background on the makeup of this class, the majority is either of African American or Hispanic
descent. The ratio of boys to girls was nine to eight. The four Hispanic girls stuck together playing
with the hula hoops and on the small climbers with the slide in cooperative play; while the four
African American girls played on the tricycles and with the foam toys. On the other hand, the boys
were more mixed in their interactions. They were playing with the balls throwing and chasing each
other around. Though they probably paid no attention there segregated acts, but Ms. Ashley and
Mrs. Williams did. To combat this situation and encourage more mixed interaction, I think Ms.
Ashley should mix up the girls when they

My Life
I never liked going to school and loved to stay at home with my mom, my brother, Christopher, and
my puppy, Zoe Belle. Kindergarten was a struggle for me; I did not like my teacher and I did not
like leaving my safe, comfortable home. I went to kindergarten on Monday, Wednesday and every
other Friday, so on my days off my mom and I would practice my writing and penmanship skills.
I remember the day vividly! I was extremely happy that I did not have to go to school! It was a
bright and sunny afternoon, with the fresh wind blowing through our screened in sliding glass door.
My mom had just made my brother and me some SpongeBob macaroni & cheese with hot dogs.
This definitely was not my favorite meal for lunch, but my little brother, Christopher has always
loved it! I always want everyone around me to be happy, and since this was his favorite meal, it
made him happy, so I was happy. My brother and I are three years apart, we used to get along back
then but as we both got older, the sibling nagging, pestering and arguing began to develop. Deep
down we love each other but we never tend to express those emotions.
After finishing our hot cheesy lunch and a nice warm chocolate chip cookie straight from oven, my
mom put my brother down for a nap. When she came downstairs, my mom told me that it was time
for me to do my homework and practice my penmanship. Practicing my letters and writing three
lettered words was a struggle for me; my hand could never hold the long,

My First Teacher I Ever Had Was My Mother
My Mother and Literacy
The first teacher I ever had was my mother (Stephanie). From tying my shoes to my ABC's she
taught me so many things throughout my life. Enhancing how literacy fit into my life was one major
thing my mom did for me. Similar to the reading Superman and Me by Alexie; we always had books
lying around the house. We would take trips to the library to look for new books and we would
attend the summer reading program. My mom would have me read anything and everything; menus,
recipes, street signs, and books. Reading became an everyday thing for me. My mother has had a
monumental impact on my love for literacy. She has shaped and molded the way I view Literacy
and how it fit into my life. There were three major moments in my childhood that I remember where
the books she had me read were extremely influential on my stance towards literacy.
Sometime before I started preschool my mother bought a book that had a colossal impact on literacy
in my life. I remember my mother coming into my room at bedtime to read me a new and exciting
book. The book had a pink background with a large coconut tree on it, also it had multi–color letters
all around the tree I will never forget this line; "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom will there be enough at
the top of the coconut tree.". I did the same as Alexie did with his superman book, how he would
read it again and again; at bedtime every night for at least two months my mom would come into
my room and read "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom"

Language Is Used For Social And Cultural Communication
Oral Language: Language is used for social and cultural communication. Students enter school with
a language base (standard or non–standard English) that teachers must build on. Oral language
communication is deeply rooted in learning to read and write. Oral language development lays the
foundation for students' development of phonological awareness skills. Teachers can build literacy
experiences around students' language skills.
Teaching Tips
Rich teacher talk: during reading and writing teachers used a variety of uncommon words to build
students' listening vocabulary. Teachers extend children's comments to be more descriptive and
grammatically correct. Teachers should listen and respond to all comments students make during
literacy interactions.
Story book reading: Read stories, poems and information books during whole and small group.
Teachers support students learning through discussion before, during and after reading. Teachers use
repeated reading of favorite books to build on students retelling and memory.
Alphabet Knowledge: Students' understanding that written spelling represents spoken word is
crucial to beginning reading attainment. Learning the letters of the alphabet requires many
meaningful experiences with written language. Teachers should begin teaching alphabet letters
using environmental print and children's' names. Although some letters should not be taught
together, children don't learn letters of the alphabet in any particular order or by drilling

Abraham Lincoln's 'Meditations On The Letter M'
Jacob Eshet Professor Cinda Kane English 1101 September 8, 2015 Meditations on the Letter M
The points of the letter M represent an important aspect of life. We strive for high achievements, but
everyone eventually falls. Part of life is working to rise above again, as shown in the shape of M. I
can relate to this letter – I've always worked hard in school to attain high grades, but I have
occasionally faltered and run into a strong of failures; I've learned to work even harder and achieve
success. In history and current times, many have gone through failure to work their way up to
success again. M is about persistence in accomplishing goals, accepting and adjusting to change,
and being able to bounce back from failures in life. When ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Everyone will encounter failure on their way to success. Without failure, we cannot grow and
succeed – it teaches us how to improve ourselves. In history, for example, Abraham Lincoln went
through many failures before becoming one of the United States' greatest presidents. He was
demoted quickly in the military and lost many elections in his career, but continued to work until he
had risen to presidency (Wilson). Another example is J.K. Rowling, the famous author of the Harry
Potter series. She went through many struggles in her life, each time adjusting and eventually
working her way up to huge success and wealth (Gillet). In her book, Very Good Lives, Rowling
describes how to embrace failure and improve yourself. There are many other well–known people in
history with similar experiences. Walt Disney was fired for a lack of imagination, Sir Isaac Newton
failed to run his farm, Thomas Edison was fired several times for being unproductive, and Albert
Einstein had difficulty in school – all of these people and many more, at some point of their life,
encountered failure and had to learn to accept it to achieve success. In my experience, this also
applied in school. Although I always went for the highest grades, there were some times when I had
a string of low grades. I learned to accept failure and learn from it, along with adjusting to change,
to work my way back up to success in

My Shared Reading Project
Last night I started my project and I had the pleasure of starting my shared reading project with a
young girl named Ahriah. The first step of this assignment was to gather the child's concept of print

times before since he is a friend of my partner. Ahriah is four years old; she doesn't go to school yet,
but she goes to a daycare program. Afterwards when she is done with her daycare program she
spends the rest of the day with her dad. Ahriah has an older brother whose name is Jack and he is

seems to be having trouble. Watt, Ahriah's dad tells ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I ask her, "Is this this the front of the book?" She tells me no it's the end. I try one more time to read
the book to her and ask her more questions, but again she loses focus. I was warned by Dr. Baker
that you might not get to read the whole book to the child, but it's ok to interact with a child and to
let him or her talk. When it comes to assessing her concept of print I believe that she is at a very low
level of the understanding scale. Of course the child has room for improvement, but she shows a
strong potential for what she already does know. I feel like she knows her alphabet as far as the
sounds that they make, but I don't believe that she can match the sound to an actual letter. Like I
stated in the beginning she has the general concept down on how books work, but she doesn't

Will Grayson Themes
Novel study on Will Grayson, Will Grayson
I have read the young–adult contemporary novel, Will Grayson Will Grayson, written by John
Green and David Levithan. It was published by Penguin Books in 2010 and was one of New York
Times bestselling novels. In the suburbs of Chicago, two young–adults both named Will Grayson–
one gay, one straight, cross paths and their worlds collide.
Green and Levithan's main purpose to write this novel was simply because they both admired each
other's work and wanted to do a collaboration. The collaboration on this novel is quite unique, for
the reason that they only decided the main characters name, where they were going to meet and
when. Otherwise John and David wrote their separate stories, knowing ... Show more content on

Will #1 loves Tiny Cooper as his best friend, while will #2 loves Tiny Cooper in a romantic way.
LGBT is also an important theme in this novel, where as it encourages the LGBT community by
having one of the main character being gay. Other themes in WGWG are depression, soul searching
and friendship. Will Grayson #1 is one of the main characters in this novel. He is a teenage boy who
lives to abide by his main life rules: 1. don't care too much and 2. shut up. Will's appearance is not
described that much, however he seems like a laid back guy who does not care too much about his

who starts to drift away from him, because of Tiny's new relationship with will grayson #2. Will

Handwriting Exemplar Analysis
In this lab, I observed four handwriting exemplars from four different suspects. Roughly a year ago,
an unidentified male abducted a ten year old child from a prosperous, private, residential school.
The unidentified male then sent a ransom note to the boy's parents requesting a large amount of
money to return their son safely. The authorities identified four male suspects and called me into
analyze their handwriting exemplars. I started by using twelve characteristics to analyze the suspects
handwriting. These characteristics include line quality, word and margin spacing, continuity of
words, ratio of uppercase to lowercase letters, completion of letters, cursive writing, pen pressure,

This conclusion is accurate in proving the similarities between the ransom note's handwriting and
the suspects handwriting. This does not provide a declaration of guilt as it cannot prove that the

similar. Therefore this piece of evidence should not be heavily relied on as proof of guilt, This piece

My Outlook On Student Assessment
One aspect of teaching that I find particularly challenging in my career is student assessment. It is a
gray area that is constantly being analyzed and transformed by myself, colleagues, administrators
and the educational community as a whole. As Huhn states, "assessment means being keenly aware
of what students know and understand, having sufficient evidence of this understanding, and
offering a grade that accurately reflects this." As a Kindergarten teacher my outlook on student
assessment varies greatly from many other grade level teachers. I view student assessment as an
ongoing journey, not a final destination. I feel fortunate that I am not forced to assign points and
letter grades to quantify student achievement. As a district ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Validity and reliability are cornerstones to this type of classroom. It is critical for teachers to ensure
student assessments used in the classroom possess these qualities. Valid assessments require
accurate feedback and exactness of the teacher's inferences about a student's ability. Reliable
assessments must be both repeatable and dependable. On the assessment continuum there are three
types of assessment that can be delivered to students. Each of these categories of assessments serves
a different purpose. Diagnostic assessments are given before learning occurs. This type of
assessment is used to identify where the students are at in learning right now, as well as any
misconceptions they may have. Diagnostic assessments are critical to gathering student information
to help teachers plan content to be taught, as well as to differentiate their instruction. Examples of
diagnostic assessments would be prior knowledge and skill checks and learning preference surveys.
Formative assessments are used while learning is taking place. The aim of this type of assessment is
to improve student learning, not just measure it. These assessments can be both formal and informal,
and may include quizzes, oral questioning, teacher observations, and think–alouds. Although these
assessments are used to evaluate students learning and progress, they should not be factored into a
student's grade. Formative assessments should be used by teachers to guide instruction to

the similar rule of the Family Compact in Upper Canada. This 'paltry screen to a rotten government'

The Importance Of Literacy Instruction In Education
Introduction
Literacy instruction is a large focus to the curriculum we as educators follow at Remsen Elementary.
Remsen strives for excellence in literacy education and provides a variety of instruction literacy
plans in order to support student learning. As stated by our district, "Explode the Code", Wilson's
Fundations (grade K–3), Leveled Literacy Intervention Curriculum, and Literacy Centers are used
with fidelity. Along with these primary instructional resources, interventions and supplemental
learning opportunities help teachers to monitor student progress closely through a carefully
conceived, supported, and sustained Response to Intervention program (elementary level), and the
use of purposeful and comprehensive assessment and progress monitoring program (grade PK–12)
to measure student growth and achievement. Furthermore, our "Guide to Response to Intervention
(RTI) and Instruction" details our full curricula and materials at REMSEN, PK–12" (REFERENCE
WEBSITE).
Through my experience teaching the Fundations Wilson Language phonics program and my
conversations with our literacy teacher and fellow kindergarten teacher, Remsen has invested much
time into implementing this program school wide with the belief that a separate phonics time aside
from English language arts instruction is of great benefit to students. Through my classroom
observations and discussions with our K–3 literacy teacher as well as other K–3 teachers,

The Congress Should Undergo A Reform
For many years, there has been an ongoing debate as to whether or not the Senate should undergo a
reform. Many Canadian citizens are unsatisfied with the fact that the Senate is not elected. How are
citizens to be sure that they are being properly represented when they are not able to choose who
represents them? Although the Senate is an integral part of the governmental system, many
Canadians are leaning towards the idea to completely abolish the Senate. The credible, David C.
Docherty, outlines the previous attempts for the Senate reform while describing the mindset of
Canadians and where the reformation of the Senate currently stands in his article "The Canadian

The Canadian Senate's initial purpose is to review legislative proposals that are sent from the House
of Commons, in other words to serve as a chamber of "sober second thought"
(Malcolmson,Richard,Gerald,Thomas .138) The Senate is known to have statutory power to defeat,

response to the democratically elected House of Commons that may possibly fail to respect property
rights regarding people of lower and higher classes. The Senate body is designed to protect property

Do you feel your government is fair? Does it manage the issues properly, with careful thought, and
an open, objective mind? Is it effective? Do you feel that the Senate is a "sober chamber of second

In terms of the reform option, as a country, we absolutely cannot afford to abolish the Senate, as it
serves as, and is meant to be, a body of un–biased "economic and social élite", who are capable of
making/approving decisions to benefit the citizens of Canada, rather than the House of Commons,
which makes decisions by majority, and in their own interest. The Senate is meant to play a neutral
role, to be the final judge to make the un–biased, informed decisions. Sometimes, the Senate has

often do not receive much media coverage, increasing the public perception that Senators do very

They have also researched issues such as poverty in Canada, and legalizing Marijuana.
No matter which angle one looks at this from, the effective existence of the Senate is necessary to
stabilize the government, as it is near to impossible to have an ideal House of Commons, as
confirmed by an English political journalist Walter Bagehot.

This was not granted by the United States Constitution, but came about later in the early 1800s from
a case that was taken to the Supreme Court. In the case of Marbury vs Madison, Marbury was

Indian Women 's Indian Association Essay
India
Unlike the British and American women, Indian women did not face great difficulty in securing
franchise. Gandhiji stressed on the need for active participation of the masses during the freedom
movement, including women. He encouraged total participation of women resulting in the
emergence of a large number of women freedom fighters. Annie Besant, Madame Cama and
Sarojini Naidu formed the Women's Indian Association. But, women still constitute a mere 10% of
the legislators in the Parliament and State Assemblies. "According to the 1955 International
Parliamentary Union Survey, women hold just 11.7% of all seats in Parliament around the world."
Success at the Panchayat level based on reservations for women convinced women's organizations
that it is the correct time to extend these reservations to the highest levels.

For Colored Girls who Have Considered Suicide/ When the Rainbow is Enuf is a piece of work
written by Ntozake Shange. It is written in an unusual style that is called a choreopoem. This style is
very effective when done by a skilled poet such as Shange. She uses a combination of rhyming
lyrics and a play like format to captivate the reader. The subject matter of her work is very powerful
as well. The entire collection revolves around how black women are oppressed and their courage
throughout many trials. Using the combination of a unique style and riveting content Ntozake

Shange epitomizes the choreopoem style of writing. The theme of Colored Girls is mainly Shange 's
view of other women of her own race. She writes of dreams that all black women had during her
time. Dreams of love and of the good life were the only things that kept many women going
according to Shange. Despite all of the dreams and the steps that black women took to reach them
they always seemed to be shattered by some heartless lover or destroyed at the hand of the white
folk. Shange writes with such passion that anyone no matter what their background can receive the
message in her writing and benefit from it. "i cannot now i cannot be nice to nobody nice is such a
rip–off" This exert from the book shows
Shange 's view of life and social issues after she moved to Harlem. She has obviously lost all
confidence and respect for everyone around her. Throughout the book Shange continually bashes
men and the way they treated women in Harlem.
She talks about the oppression that women had to endure when they gave everything that they were
to a man and then that man took it all away without a second thought. Obviously there is a lot of
unhealthy feelings held by black women when they can not even afford to be nice to anyone for fear
of being hurt or even raped for no reason. The message or theme that Shange wants everyone, not
only other black women, who reads her work to get is her description of

Description Of A Model Case
5. Cases: Model, Related, Contrary, Borderline & Invented
Model Case A model is a simple representation of something else. Avant and Walker 2011, define a
model case as an occurrence that defines the case or idea exactly. In many instances, a model is
something that the person can relate to and should come first in the study (Avant & Walker, 2011).
Example of a model case: "Jason" is a 31–year–old white male that has worked on the surgical
oncology floor for 5 years. He has a wife and a two–year–old son, drinks about three days a week
and often yells at his wife and son. He arrives to work every day on time and his coworkers know
him for his speed, organization and great time management. He is the charge nurse most nights and
is currently orientating a new nurse who also knows his wife. Most days, he is very short with the
new hired nurse; belittling and acting very pompous. One day, the new hire arrives to work and is
visibly upset and teary eyed, Jason does not care and proceeds to his teaching process as usual. The
new nurse gets fed up and proceeds to yell his faults to the entire night shift crew and even a few
members of upper management. The new nurse calls him "the worst nurse ever" and states that
"working together has been a nightmare". Further elaborating that he is "a monster and evil human
being because of his frequent verbal abuse directed toward his wife and son". Jason is immediately

3. What is information entropy? Why do you want a lot of entropy in your password?
Information entropy is the average amount of information contained in each message received.
Here, message stands for an event, sample or character drawn from a distribution or data stream.
Basically, it tells us how much information is there in an event. In general, the more random the
event is, the more information it will contain. Entropy thus characterizes our uncertainty about our
source of information. The source is also characterized by the probability distribution of the samples
drawn from it. The idea here is that the less likely an event is, the more information it provides when
it occurs. The concept of entropy was created by a mathematician. He was named Claude Elwood
Shannon. Entropy is average information, it is also measured in Shannons, nats, or hartleys,
depending on the base of the logarithm used to define it. It has applications in many areas like
lossless data compression, cryptography and other disciplines like biology, physics or machine
learning.

The forgotten ones "at the cemetery, /walnut grove plantation, /south carolina, 1989" The poem at
the cemetery, walnut grove plantation, south carolina, 1989 by Lucille Clifton is a six stanza poem
with many repetitions throughout the poem conveying the idea of how the slaves that worked in the
walnut plantation were forgotten and not honored. The speaker of the poem, who is taking a tour
around the plantation and cemetery, expressed anger throughout the poem as the tension slowly

One interpretation for this phrase is that people tend to enjoy only the finished product of the
plantation but does not have any respect for the slaves that worked there. Another interpretation that
can be inferred is that as the speaker gets shown around the plantation by a tour guide, the tour
guide does not mention anything about the slaves that were buried there.
Other evidence that supports the theme is line 17–18: "the inventory lists ten slaves/ but only men
were recognized." Because these lines were italicized, it can be assume that the speaker is just
reading a sign and is simply stating a historical fact. However, reading into the lines demonstrates
how the slaves were dehumanized. The word "inventory," which means complete list of items such
as property or goods in stock, shows that slaves were only property to slave owners and does not
have sort of human quality in them. Another deeper meaning that can be collected from "only men
alone recognized" is the feeling that women slaves were even more mistreated and were not even
recognized as an inventory, which can be inferred that women slaves were even lower than male
slaves and were not recognized as an object or property. The denial of women slaves' existence ties
closely to lines 25–28: some of these slaves were women some of them did this honored work.
Here, the speaker is telling the readers that not only men worked in this plantation

In this paper I will be answering, "Many people believed that justice had been served when Amanda

court recently reversed the convictions of Amanda and Raffaelle. After reading the books, which
court do you think got it right–the lower trial court with the guilty verdict or the high court with the

from each book, to support my response. The books "Honor bound" and "Murder in Italy" talk about
the Amanda Knox trial. Amanda's roommate Meredith Kercher, was found murdered in their home
leaving the main suspects to be Amanda and her boyfriend Raffaelle Sollecito.
Amanda Knox was a 20 year old from Seattle, Washington who moved to Perugia, Italy for college.
She was a smart girl. She seemed to me to be very open with her life and sexuality. Her openness

With many cases of this magnitude come speculations. No one wanted to believe that Knox and

Guede for the murder, they had never really counted out Knox and Sollecito as suspects. "... police

Linatol. This memo will address the need to select a target amount to which each 10–ounce bottle of
Linatol will be filled. The analysis of several target fill rates was conducted to determine the one
that maximizes the contribution per case, therefore generating the maximum revenue for Lorex
Pharmaceuticals. This ideal fill rate will allow more bottles to be sold at the full retail price of $186
and limit the under filled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For each target fill rate the proportion of bottles filled correctly had to be determined. This
calculation provides a breakdown between cases that can be sold for the full amount of $186 and
cases that are designated as seconds, which are sold for 80% of the full price or $148.80. Revenue
per case grows continuously as the target fill rate increases. From the blending costs which include
$67,662 of active ingredient per 5000 liters, and blending labor of $432 per 5000 liter batch the cost
per ounce of medication is approximately $0.40. This provides input for the active ingredient cost.
Based on the labor cost of $8.50 per hour at 12 cases per hour, the input for rework cost per case is
approximately $0.70 per case. Contribution per case is derived from the revenue minus the costs.
The contribution per case is the performance criteria that our decision is based upon. Results
A balance between revenue and cost is seen at a target fill rate of 10.4 ounces per bottle. The
revenue per case is greater when the bottles are filled to 10.5 ounces; however the resulting increase
in the active ingredient cost produces a lower contribution per case. The recommendation is to use a
target fill rate of 10.4 ounces per bottle. Initially there will be an increased cost of active ingredients
but in the long

  • 1. Title of Paper Uses Upper and Lower Case Title of Paper Uses Upper and Lower Case Student A. Name Westwood College Abstract An abstract is a statement summarizing the important points of a paper. Typically they are used for long research papers. An acceptable length for an abstract is between 150 and 250 words. The text should be double–spaced, the font should be Times New Roman and the margins should be 1 inch. Most classes do not require an abstract. If you are not required an abstract, simply delete this page. It can be very trying because of all the obstacles that lie ahead. Parents bear the brunt of the family responsibility with mothers often feeling the impact of their child's autism more personally than others. Having an open and honest discussion with all who are involved about future care is important so that everyone is not worrying unnecessarily. • 2. Deaf Assessment Throughout each assessment, my use of academic language was centered around unfamiliar vocabulary. As stated before, children who are deaf and hard of hearing need to be taught vocabulary directly. Research published by Cooke and Luckner stated that that the vocabulary knowledge of students who are deaf or hard of hearing is quantitatively reduced as compared to that of typical hearing peers. (2010, American Annals of the Deaf) Assessment number one focused on identifying colors and the vocabulary words: sort and group. The students had to sort the leaves into two or three categories (groups) using color as a key attribute. Assessment number two focused on the vocabulary: big and little. • 3. Teaching Is The Easiest Job Teaching is one of the most well known careers known to man; it has existed for centuries and probably has existed since the beginning of humanity. Thus, many may think it is very simple to get in front of a group (class) and lecture about a certain topic. When in actuality it is not, it is very complicated having to get up in front of a class especially if you're a shy person not used to the concept of talking in front of a large group of people; I have faced a similar challenge, and steadily overcoming the fears associated with teaching. Over the summer I worked with students at a local school called Hanley International Academy, I taught ladies that were older than me, and are ESL; I honestly thought it was the easiest job ever prior to starting. However, I started to understand that teaching needs time and explaining within the time I worked I took everything serious. Before beginning any teaching, I had to assist each student's ability to understand English. Then, I started off with very simple assignments. When teaching ESL students the first step is to explain what the alphabet, how much are letters are in the alphabets, and how to use them. Then you have to teach them how to write them when they have understood how to read and write then you must move on to the next concept. That doesn't mean to forget about it completely. Next, you say the alphabets and let them read after you until they have pronounced it perfectly. Then start with the next step I made ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Brenden, his mother, Ms. Ricci, and his father, Mr. Strange, as well as the B.A.T clinical team were present to conduct a descriptive functional assessment, which consisted of direct observation of behavior and an Antecedent–Behavior– Consequence (ABC) narrative recording in the family home. Upon arrival, the B.A.T. clinical team greeted Ms. Ricci at the door. Ms. Ricci directed the clinical team to the family room, where Brenden was smiling and laughing with his father (Mr. Strange), as the two played with a toy. • 6. My Field Experience At Cc Spaulding Elementary School Over the Fall Break vacation, I decided to conduct my field experience at CC Spaulding Elementary School. I had the opportunity to work with Ms. Sarah Ashley and Mrs. Williams' Pre–K class. I had previously shadowed with Ms. Ashley, so she was eager to welcome me back. Over the days, I got myself acquainted with her students to make them comfortable with my presence. Luckily, they welcomed me in with no hesitation. After settling in, Ms. Ashley and I discussed my schedule and the activities that I would be completing while there. One activity I observed on my first day was how the students interacted with one another during outside play time. One thing that I did notice during play time was that the girls of the same ethnicity only played with each other. To give some background on the makeup of this class, the majority is either of African American or Hispanic descent. The ratio of boys to girls was nine to eight. The four Hispanic girls stuck together playing with the hula hoops and on the small climbers with the slide in cooperative play; while the four African American girls played on the tricycles and with the foam toys. • 7. My Life I never liked going to school and loved to stay at home with my mom, my brother, Christopher, and my puppy, Zoe Belle. Kindergarten was a struggle for me; I did not like my teacher and I did not like leaving my safe, comfortable home. I went to kindergarten on Monday, Wednesday and every other Friday, so on my days off my mom and I would practice my writing and penmanship skills. I remember the day vividly! I was extremely happy that I did not have to go to school! It was a bright and sunny afternoon, with the fresh wind blowing through our screened in sliding glass door. My mom had just made my brother and me some SpongeBob macaroni & cheese with hot dogs. This definitely was not my favorite meal for lunch, but my little brother, Christopher has always loved it! I always want everyone around me to be happy, and since this was his favorite meal, it made him happy, so I was happy. My brother and I are three years apart, we used to get along back then but as we both got older, the sibling nagging, pestering and arguing began to develop. Deep down we love each other but we never tend to express those emotions. After finishing our hot cheesy lunch and a nice warm chocolate chip cookie straight from oven, my mom put my brother down for a nap. When she came downstairs, my mom told me that it was time for me to do my homework and practice my penmanship. Practicing my letters and writing three lettered words was a struggle for me; my hand could never hold the long, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From tying my shoes to my ABC's she taught me so many things throughout my life. Enhancing how literacy fit into my life was one major thing my mom did for me. Similar to the reading Superman and Me by Alexie; we always had books lying around the house. We would take trips to the library to look for new books and we would attend the summer reading program. My mom would have me read anything and everything; menus, recipes, street signs, and books. Reading became an everyday thing for me. My mother has had a monumental impact on my love for literacy. She has shaped and molded the way I view Literacy and how it fit into my life. There were three major moments in my childhood that I remember where the books she had me read were extremely influential on my stance towards literacy. Sometime before I started preschool my mother bought a book that had a colossal impact on literacy in my life. I remember my mother coming into my room at bedtime to read me a new and exciting book. The book had a pink background with a large coconut tree on it, also it had multi–color letters all around the tree I will never forget this line; "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom will there be enough at the top of the coconut tree.". I did the same as Alexie did with his superman book, how he would read it again and again; at bedtime every night for at least two months my mom would come into my room and read "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" ... Students enter school with a language base (standard or non–standard English) that teachers must build on. Oral language communication is deeply rooted in learning to read and write. Oral language development lays the foundation for students' development of phonological awareness skills. Teachers can build literacy experiences around students' language skills. Teaching Tips Rich teacher talk: during reading and writing teachers used a variety of uncommon words to build students' listening vocabulary. Teachers extend children's comments to be more descriptive and grammatically correct. Teachers should listen and respond to all comments students make during literacy interactions. Story book reading: Read stories, poems and information books during whole and small group. Teachers support students learning through discussion before, during and after reading. Teachers use repeated reading of favorite books to build on students retelling and memory. Alphabet Knowledge: Students' understanding that written spelling represents spoken word is crucial to beginning reading attainment. Learning the letters of the alphabet requires many meaningful experiences with written language. Teachers should begin teaching alphabet letters using environmental print and children's' names. Although some letters should not be taught together, children don't learn letters of the alphabet in any particular order or by drilling ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Abraham Lincoln's 'Meditations On The Letter M' Jacob Eshet Professor Cinda Kane English 1101 September 8, 2015 Meditations on the Letter M The points of the letter M represent an important aspect of life. We strive for high achievements, but everyone eventually falls. Part of life is working to rise above again, as shown in the shape of M. I can relate to this letter – I've always worked hard in school to attain high grades, but I have occasionally faltered and run into a strong of failures; I've learned to work even harder and achieve success. Everyone will encounter failure on their way to success. Without failure, we cannot grow and succeed – it teaches us how to improve ourselves. In history, for example, Abraham Lincoln went through many failures before becoming one of the United States' greatest presidents. He was demoted quickly in the military and lost many elections in his career, but continued to work until he had risen to presidency (Wilson). Another example is J.K. Rowling, the famous author of the Harry Potter series. She went through many struggles in her life, each time adjusting and eventually working her way up to huge success and wealth (Gillet). In her book, Very Good Lives, Rowling describes how to embrace failure and improve yourself. There are many other well–known people in history with similar experiences. Walt Disney was fired for a lack of imagination, Sir Isaac Newton failed to run his farm, Thomas Edison was fired several times for being unproductive, and Albert Einstein had difficulty in school – all of these people and many more, at some point of their life, encountered failure and had to learn to accept it to achieve success. In my experience, this also applied in school. Although I always went for the highest grades, there were some times when I had a string of low grades. Validity and reliability are cornerstones to this type of classroom. It is critical for teachers to ensure student assessments used in the classroom possess these qualities. Valid assessments require accurate feedback and exactness of the teacher's inferences about a student's ability. Reliable assessments must be both repeatable and dependable. On the assessment continuum there are three types of assessment that can be delivered to students. Each of these categories of assessments serves a different purpose. Diagnostic assessments are given before learning occurs. This type of assessment is used to identify where the students are at in learning right now, as well as any misconceptions they may have. Diagnostic assessments are critical to gathering student information to help teachers plan content to be taught, as well as to differentiate their instruction. Then on Monday you stated you wanted to have this formal meeting we are having today. On the other hand, during this past rating period, the tasks assigned to me seemed to be impossible to manage as my focus was moved from wrapping up the Cold Bay case to whatever Dan Byrd wanted at the time to the ASCHR investigation. And I admit that I did not completely ignore the rest of my duties, like responding to emails, phone calls, questions from the support staff, evaluation processing, etc. to focus 100% on the highest priorities. But I also found myself trying to focus on the Cold Bay case, for example, and you asking me to shift my focus to respond to Dan Byrd immediately, you had also scheduled pre–d meetings I had to have with Dan Byrd, without talking to me prior the arrangement. What is information entropy? Why do you want a lot of entropy in your password? Information entropy is the average amount of information contained in each message received. Here, message stands for an event, sample or character drawn from a distribution or data stream. Basically, it tells us how much information is there in an event. In general, the more random the event is, the more information it will contain. Entropy thus characterizes our uncertainty about our source of information. The source is also characterized by the probability distribution of the samples drawn from it. The idea here is that the less likely an event is, the more information it provides when it occurs. The concept of entropy was created by a mathematician. He was named Claude Elwood Shannon. Entropy is average information, it is also measured in Shannons, nats, or hartleys, depending on the base of the logarithm used to define it. It has applications in many areas like lossless data compression, cryptography and other disciplines like biology, physics or machine learning. • 34. Essay about At the Cemetery, Walnut Grove Plantation The forgotten ones "at the cemetery, /walnut grove plantation, /south carolina, 1989" The poem at the cemetery, walnut grove plantation, south carolina, 1989 by Lucille Clifton is a six stanza poem with many repetitions throughout the poem conveying the idea of how the slaves that worked in the walnut plantation were forgotten and not honored. The speaker of the poem, who is taking a tour around the plantation and cemetery, expressed anger throughout the poem as the tension slowly escalates ending with repetitions of "here lies". Putting all the elements of the poem together, paradox and repetition, it perfectly articulates the underlying meaning of the poem, which is to remember and honor the dead slaves, men and women, whom worked in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One interpretation for this phrase is that people tend to enjoy only the finished product of the plantation but does not have any respect for the slaves that worked there. Another interpretation that can be inferred is that as the speaker gets shown around the plantation by a tour guide, the tour guide does not mention anything about the slaves that were buried there. Other evidence that supports the theme is line 17–18: "the inventory lists ten slaves/ but only men were recognized." Because these lines were italicized, it can be assume that the speaker is just reading a sign and is simply stating a historical fact. However, reading into the lines demonstrates how the slaves were dehumanized. The word "inventory," which means complete list of items such as property or goods in stock, shows that slaves were only property to slave owners and does not have sort of human quality in them. Another deeper meaning that can be collected from "only men alone recognized" is the feeling that women slaves were even more mistreated and were not even recognized as an inventory, which can be inferred that women slaves were even lower than male slaves and were not recognized as an object or property. The denial of women slaves' existence ties closely to lines 25–28: some of these slaves were women some of them did this honored work. Here, the speaker is telling the readers that not only men worked in this plantation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this paper I will be answering, "Many people believed that justice had been served when Amanda Knox, Raffaele Sollecito, and Rudy Guede were arrested, prosecuted, and convicted. Italy's high court recently reversed the convictions of Amanda and Raffaelle. After reading the books, which court do you think got it right–the lower trial court with the guilty verdict or the high court with the not guilty verdict? Why?" I will provide at least three examples, with at least one example coming from each book, to support my response. The books "Honor bound" and "Murder in Italy" talk about the Amanda Knox trial. Amanda's roommate Meredith Kercher, was found murdered in their home leaving the main suspects to be Amanda and her boyfriend Raffaelle Sollecito. Amanda Knox was a 20 year old from Seattle, Washington who moved to Perugia, Italy for college. She was a smart girl. She seemed to me to be very open with her life and sexuality. Her openness was later used against her by police, prosecutors, and media. The media gave her sexual nicknames, a few being: "... the promiscuous American she–devil...", and "Foxy Knoxy" (HB xiii–xiv). With many cases of this magnitude come speculations. No one wanted to believe that Knox and Sollecito had nothing to do with the murder of Kercher. Even after the police apprehended Rudy Guede for the murder, they had never really counted out Knox and Sollecito as suspects. Communication, Language, And Speech Skills Mrs. Moore has the children do group activities, partner activities, and use their words when something goes wrong, which are all ways to help develop communication, language, and speech skills. Parents can continue to help these skills develop at home by talking to their children, teaching them new words, and having them use their own words to ask for something. Overall, Addison 's communication, language, and speech skills are almost where they need to be and parents need to focus on her using her words when something goes wrong and having her use more complete sentences. Cognitive development is the process of developing intelligence, problem solving skills, and advanced thought. Addison has showed that she is in the proper state of cognitive development for her age. For each target fill rate the proportion of bottles filled correctly had to be determined. This calculation provides a breakdown between cases that can be sold for the full amount of $186 and cases that are designated as seconds, which are sold for 80% of the full price or $148.80. Revenue per case grows continuously as the target fill rate increases. From the blending costs which include $67,662 of active ingredient per 5000 liters, and blending labor of $432 per 5000 liter batch the cost per ounce of medication is approximately $0.40. This provides input for the active ingredient cost. Based on the labor cost of $8.50 per hour at 12 cases per hour, the input for rework cost per case is approximately $0.70 per case. Contribution per case is derived from the revenue minus the costs. The contribution per case is the performance criteria that our decision is based upon. Results A balance between revenue and cost is seen at a target fill rate of 10.4 ounces per bottle. The revenue per case is greater when the bottles are filled to 10.5 ounces; however the resulting increase in the active ingredient cost produces a lower contribution per case. The recommendation is to use a target fill rate of 10.4 ounces per bottle. Initially there will be an increased cost of active ingredients but in the long ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
