Throughout each assessment, my use of academic language was centered around unfamiliar
vocabulary. As stated before, children who are deaf and hard of hearing need to be taught
vocabulary directly. Research published by Cooke and Luckner stated that that the vocabulary

Teaching Is The Easiest Job
Teaching is one of the most well known careers known to man; it has existed for centuries and
probably has existed since the beginning of humanity. Thus, many may think it is very simple to get
in front of a group (class) and lecture about a certain topic. When in actuality it is not, it is very
complicated having to get up in front of a class especially if you're a shy person not used to the
concept of talking in front of a large group of people; I have faced a similar challenge, and steadily
overcoming the fears associated with teaching.
Over the summer I worked with students at a local school called Hanley International Academy, I
taught ladies that were older than me, and are ESL; I honestly thought it was the easiest job ever
prior to starting. However, I started to understand that teaching needs time and explaining within the
time I worked I took everything serious. Before beginning any teaching, I had to assist each
student's ability to understand English. Then, I started off with very simple assignments. When
teaching ESL students the first step is to explain what the alphabet, how much are letters are in the
alphabets, and how to use them. Then you have to teach them how to write them when they have
understood how to read and write then you must move on to the next concept. That doesn't mean to
forget about it completely. Next, you say the alphabets and let them read after you until they have

Each of the children did very well with identifying concepts of a book the first child that we will
look at is 6 years old. She goes to kindergarten all day and has grown up with many books around.
She was able to hold the book right side up for me, show me the front cover, and show me the back
cover. She was also able to show me the title page of the book. Lastly she was able to show me the
first page of the text. Although she did do a good job of pointing out some main parts of the book

My Field Experience At Cc Spaulding Elementary School
Over the Fall Break vacation, I decided to conduct my field experience at CC Spaulding Elementary
School. I had the opportunity to work with Ms. Sarah Ashley and Mrs. Williams' Pre–K class. I had
previously shadowed with Ms. Ashley, so she was eager to welcome me back. Over the days, I got
myself acquainted with her students to make them comfortable with my presence. Luckily, they
welcomed me in with no hesitation. After settling in, Ms. Ashley and I discussed my schedule and
the activities that I would be completing while there. One activity I observed on my first day was
how the students interacted with one another during outside play time. One thing that I did notice
during play time was that the girls of the same ethnicity only played with each other. To give some
background on the makeup of this class, the majority is either of African American or Hispanic
descent. The ratio of boys to girls was nine to eight. The four Hispanic girls stuck together playing
with the hula hoops and on the small climbers with the slide in cooperative play; while the four
African American girls played on the tricycles and with the foam toys. On the other hand, the boys
were more mixed in their interactions. They were playing with the balls throwing and chasing each

My Life
I never liked going to school and loved to stay at home with my mom, my brother, Christopher, and
my puppy, Zoe Belle. Kindergarten was a struggle for me; I did not like my teacher and I did not
like leaving my safe, comfortable home. I went to kindergarten on Monday, Wednesday and every
other Friday, so on my days off my mom and I would practice my writing and penmanship skills.
I remember the day vividly! I was extremely happy that I did not have to go to school! It was a
bright and sunny afternoon, with the fresh wind blowing through our screened in sliding glass door.
My mom had just made my brother and me some SpongeBob macaroni & cheese with hot dogs.
This definitely was not my favorite meal for lunch, but my little brother, Christopher has always
loved it! I always want everyone around me to be happy, and since this was his favorite meal, it
made him happy, so I was happy. My brother and I are three years apart, we used to get along back
then but as we both got older, the sibling nagging, pestering and arguing began to develop. Deep

My First Teacher I Ever Had Was My Mother
My Mother and Literacy
The first teacher I ever had was my mother (Stephanie). From tying my shoes to my ABC's she
taught me so many things throughout my life. Enhancing how literacy fit into my life was one major
thing my mom did for me. Similar to the reading Superman and Me by Alexie; we always had books
lying around the house. We would take trips to the library to look for new books and we would
attend the summer reading program. My mom would have me read anything and everything; menus,
recipes, street signs, and books. Reading became an everyday thing for me. My mother has had a
monumental impact on my love for literacy. She has shaped and molded the way I view Literacy
and how it fit into my life. There were three major moments in my childhood that I remember where
the books she had me read were extremely influential on my stance towards literacy.
Sometime before I started preschool my mother bought a book that had a colossal impact on literacy
in my life. I remember my mother coming into my room at bedtime to read me a new and exciting
book. The book had a pink background with a large coconut tree on it, also it had multi–color letters
all around the tree I will never forget this line; "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom will there be enough at
the top of the coconut tree.". I did the same as Alexie did with his superman book, how he would
read it again and again; at bedtime every night for at least two months my mom would come into
my room and read "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom"

a language base (standard or non–standard English) that teachers must build on. Oral language
communication is deeply rooted in learning to read and write. Oral language development lays the

Teaching Tips
Rich teacher talk: during reading and writing teachers used a variety of uncommon words to build

ABL is developed and maintained by Progress Software Corporation. OpenEdge ABL previously

released in the 1980s. This first commercial release for UNIX and DOS was in 1984, since then

In terms of the reform option, as a country, we absolutely cannot afford to abolish the Senate, as it
serves as, and is meant to be, a body of un–biased "economic and social élite", who are capable of
making/approving decisions to benefit the citizens of Canada, rather than the House of Commons,
which makes decisions by majority, and in their own interest. The Senate is meant to play a neutral
role, to be the final judge to make the un–biased, informed decisions. Sometimes, the Senate has
taken on other roles, which it performs and works with very effectively. In fairness to them, these
often do not receive much media coverage, increasing the public perception that Senators do very
little. For example, the Senate Standing Committee on Social Affairs, Science, and Tech released a

presenting the books, I explained to her that we had to work with a book that she has never read
before, provided a brief synopsis for each book, and allowed her to scan all the books. Corduroy
was discarded because she was already familiar with it. Then patiently and attentively, she took the
time to examine every single page of all four books before deciding on The Adventures of Beekle:

The Adventures of Beekle is a fiction picture book that tells the story of an imaginary friend who

Linatol. This memo will address the need to select a target amount to which each 10–ounce bottle of
Linatol will be filled. The analysis of several target fill rates was conducted to determine the one
that maximizes the contribution per case, therefore generating the maximum revenue for Lorex

For each target fill rate the proportion of bottles filled correctly had to be determined. This
calculation provides a breakdown between cases that can be sold for the full amount of $186 and
cases that are designated as seconds, which are sold for 80% of the full price or $148.80. Revenue
