Taking a Look at Licensure
Licensure is when a person has shown competency in a field of study and has earned the right to become licensed in that line of work. For example
when a person wants to become a Physicians Assistant they will take an exam at the conclusion of their higher education to become certified. If they
pass their exam they will have earned the right to be a certified (or licensed) physician assistant and be rewarded with the credentials, PA–C (Physician
Assistant–Certified) and will be allowed to work in a medical setting under this title.
Accreditation is a standard of excellence that is given to a health care organization when it has met certain criteria approved by accrediting agencies.
There are several steps involved in becoming an accredited health care facility. A review of the health care organizations practices, policies and
procedures are studied and reviewed and than an accredited organization such as The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals will decide if an
organization meets the state's, for which they are located in, standards to earn a license to practice health care and if so that organization will become
accredited. Wheaton Franciscan Hospital, located in Franklin WI, is an accredited hospital who has met the requirements to hold this title and has
earned The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals: Gold Seal of Approval.

Is Real Estate Investing? Essay
Real estate investing does not always have to go the conventional route. If you want to get started investing in real estate but don 't have a lot of cash,
you could think about a Sub2 deal. Sub2 is real estate investing lingo for 'subject to '. It means you are just taking over the payments for the existing
mortgage, and the seller will deed the property over to you. This way you are not taking out any formal financing, but you and the seller will have a
written contract that the deal is subject to you taking over payments on the original mortgage. Since most banks do not issue assumeable mortgages
anymore, this is a way of making it assumeable on your own. You can then agree to give the sellers a lump sum when you sell the property. Why
would someone want to let you have the house for taking over the loan? Well, there are many reasons why. It could be a divorce, and the parties are
not speaking to each other. It could be a pre–foreclosure property, where the owners are unable to make payments anymore and need help fast. Or
possibly a job transfer, and the owner is now carrying two mortgages. You are offering the owners a fast solution. It 's not like them having to put the
property on the market and wait until it sells. Some of these people don 't have that kind of time. By you taking over payments, it is an immediate
relief of payment burdens on the seller, and they will often be happy to wait a bit for the lump sum. An example transaction would be this: A prospective

Cameron Auto Parts
Alex Cameron took over the reins of his family business after his graduation, and when he did, Cameron Auto Parts was immediately faced with a
big financial crisis. When he took over the company in 1991, sales in 1990 dropped to $48 million and for the first six months of 1991 to $18
million. Cameron Auto Parts also lost $2.5 million in 1990 and the same amount in the first 6 months of 1991. Market forces, such as the Japanese
taking an increasing share of the market, were driving the North American auto producers to try to advance their technology and to lower the prices at
the same time. At that time, Alex had to cut the workforce from 720 to 470 people. He was thinking of different steps of how to increase his sales. He

Moreover, the company tried to continue having good relationships with key buyers associated with major industries. Design group was an essential
role to develop new types of couplings. Cameron was willing to pay attention on solving customer's problem as well.
Licensing
Alex wanted to capture foreign markets directly but he didn't have enough resources on its own to do that. After their promising new product was
developed, they had a chance to license it to a Scottish manufacturer, McTaggart. McTaggart couldn't build the market based on shipments from
America because it was too expensive. There was a 5% tariff coming in, freight and insurance was another 10% on top of the price and also there
was the matter of currency values. He wanted to enter a licensing agreement. McTaggart already had a demand for the product so getting into a
license agreement with him would be in Alex's advantage. For Alex it was a good way to enter the U.K. market swiftly via McTaggart's sales
force. There was no financial risk involved. If Alex agreed on licensing he would have advantages such as low investment costs, reduced financial
risk and quick market entry. He agreed on a deal with McTaggart for the U.K market only so he got his chance to exploit its technology there. The
license granted to McTaggart will help bring in the cash flow needed so that they can try to expand. However, the profit of the licensor may not be
maximized

Mandatory Continuing Professional Development ( Cpd ) For...
Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for professional engineers in Ontario has been an issue subject to controversy over the years.
The controversy surrounding the issue is due in part to the complications of introducing such a program, and the fact that "Professional Engineers
Ontario (PEO) is the only professional engineering association in Canada that does not have a CPD program [1]." The debate regarding CPD for
professional engineers in Ontario is pertinent because the resolution has been ongoing since September of 2013, and is up for approval in the
upcoming February 2016 PEO council meeting [2]. Therefore, it is important that the CPD debate is resolved and a consensus is reached. Mandatory
CPD is a concept to which professionals are required and encouraged to maintain and enhance their knowledge throughout their careers to provide a
standard of competence to those practicing [3]. The goal of CPD is to be "proactive in regulating the profession...rather than (reactively)...punishing
license holders for practice failures [1]." Introducing a CPD program will ensure public safety, "contribute to a reduction in risk for the public and
individual practitioner", and "push the profession to higher levels of skills and knowledge" [1]. As a result, the professional engineers of Ontario
should engage in mandatory CPD to ensure the continued competency of those practicing and the safety of the public. The proactive nature of a CPD
program may prevent failures

Natinal Licensure Debate
Pro national licensure debate by Zhaojun Huang Introduction Suppose there is a Labor/Delivery nurse with many years of experience; a national
healthcare organization employs him or her to be a teletriage nurse, a role which he or she enjoys and contributes more to the public. He or she can be

Coordinated Licensure Information System affords information sharing more efficient and valuable As NCSBN launched this model, a centralized
data base was created. It contains both licensure and disciplinary information. Although the security of the data remains unclear, its value is not to be
discounted. To have any nurseВЎВЇs licensure status verified quickly proves valuable to both nurses and boards of nursing. Endorsement into a
compact state becomes much more efficient. With regard to the disciplinary information, much dispute has been raised due to the vague and broad
terms used about the disciplinary information to be contained in the database. Confidentiality and privacy are the key issues left unaddressed.
Nonetheless, since not all states require criminal background check, this disciplinary information might be helpful for those healthcare providers who
have access to it. Dual disciplinary actions: the double–edged sword Under the mutual recognition model, ВЎВ°Both the state of residence and the
remote state may take action to limit or stop the practice of an incompetent or unethical nurse.ВЎВ± (Ginny2006). Suppose a nurse is negligent in

Essay On Nurse Licensure
Nursing licensure is the second most licensed practice in the United States.1 However, the way in which nurses are licensed is no longer practical and
should be changed to fit the changing times. To obtain nursing licenses, one must go through nursing school and then take a national state exam known
as the NCLEX. After one passes the NCLEX, he or she must then obtain a license from the state he or she resides in. The fact that a nurse can only
obtain a license via a state–by–state process, after taking a national exam, is becoming a large problem in the United States. The current licensure,
state–by–state, does not allow for nursing to grow and become more uniformed. Therefore, in 1997 the State Board of Nursing (BON) came up the
with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). Which allows some nurses living in certain states to work in other states as well. However, this compact... Show

A national nurse licensure would allow for a national practice of nursing. The current issue is that "because of variability in state practice acts, a nurse
who is competent to perform a particular procedure in one state may be legally barred from doing that same procedure in another.".2 Therefore, the
practice of a national nurse licensure would allow for all nurses to perform their scope of practice in the same safe manner. Furthermore, having a
harmonized practice across the nation would ensure that all nurses are held to the same expectations and standards.2 Currently, each state determines
the standards that nurses must follow therefore not every single nurse in the United States must follow the same standards. By having the same
standards, the field of nursing would become more uniform and safer. Nonetheless, if nurse licensure was national a single set of guidelines would be
established which would make the practice safer for nurses and

National Nursing Licensure Essay
Benefits of National Nursing Licensure versus Individual State Licensure Introduction Nursing is a crucial field, which affects the lives of people. The
public does not have enough information pertaining those who practice nursing this led to the introduction of nursing licensure to protect the public
from unqualified persons. This license sets qualifications and competence of nursing professionals. Compared to state nursing licensure, national
nursing licensure advocates for a more effective practice for nurses. It reduces or lessens nursing shortage by promoting mobility of the nursing
professionals. National nursing licensure has a number of advantages over individual state nursing licensure. These include enhanced patient access to
quality nursing care, improved discipline and information distribution amongst the states, physical and electronic provision of care by competent
nurses, and ease of employers to more movable and proficient nurses (Fraziea, 2012). Advantages of National Licensure/ Disadvantages of Individual
State Licensure More proficient and mobile nurses, national license authorizes nurses to work in other states that practice of national licensing. This
ensures the availability of nurses wherever they are needed hence it improves their performance to the public. Individual state licensure only allows
nurses to operate in the country of their registration and not any other country (Fraziea, 2012). Physical and electronic service provision of care

You may remember last year for my very first blog, I listed 5 types of personal trainers you should avoid. This year, I have expanded that list to
include other types of personal trainers that you should avoid. These trainers are often much less obvious to spot. You may be several sessions or
several weeks into your training before you discover what type of trainer you truly have. Depending on what you are looking for out of a trainer, one
of these trainers may end up being perfect for you. However, just because they are perfect for you; they can still be, at best, a distant match for the
requirements of many other clients. The One Dimensional Trainer: Working with this trainer is like rolling dice. You may win out and get exactly what

The Immigration Administration Of New Zealand Essay
New Zealand (NZ) ranks very well in quality of living standards globally and thereby makes it a sought–after destination for immigration. To ensure
protection of interest of immigrants and to safeguard the reputation of New Zealand as a top destination of choice – the Immigration Advisers function
is regulated via implementation of the Immigration Advisers Licensing Act 2007 ('The Act'). In the case of ZW v Immigration Advisers Authority,
Judge Priestley J rightly stated that Parliament's objective for passing the Act was to clean up the Immigration Advisers industry, which was subject to
much justified criticism; towards providing an improved system of transparency, competency, Conduct Code and acceptable standards of service (ZW
v Immigration Advisers Authority [2012] NZHC 1069 at [41]).
This Act managed to build an overarching legal architecture with clear operating regime, defined stakeholders' accountabilities, well–defined process
steps and created necessary checks & balances to protect all involved. The Act sits at the centre of the Legal framework that holds the Immigration
Advisory function and creates the necessary safeguards to protect consumers and enhance the New Zealand's reputation by regulating the practice of
providing immigration advice both onshore and offshore.
Immigration New Zealand (INZ) function sits within the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, and aims to increase the economic and
social framework of NZ by facilitating and ensuring

What is a Professional Body?
A professional body is an organisation made up of primarily professionals, who provide many functions and benefits to these professionals in their
professions. Some professions explicitly need their professionals to be part of a professional body, as they require their professionals to be registered or
have a licence to practice their profession. This helps professions to ensure that their professionals are conducting their jobs correctly.
Professional Bodies have a lot of functions:
Providing professional exams to members
Having their own professional journals/magazines
Giving professionals ways to meet and discuss their particular profession through means such as forums
Having a set code of conduct for their members
Dealing with complaints and discipline against professionals
Providing wider access for everyone to get into professions that interest them
Aids students and current workers for better careers
Professional bodies usually require either a one off payment or a yearly

Athletic Training History
I have always loved sports ever since I was a little kid. Some of my earliest memories are of playing soccer with my friends on a wet, cold spring
day or hitting a ball off of a tee and feeling like it went a mile, when in reality it only went about fifty feet. Even to this day I still can never get
enough of sports. I get about four weeks off out of the entire year where I'm not technically in a sport, but I'm still always practicing and trying to get
better because that's the only way I know. I love everything about sports: the friendships, the competition, the passion, the atmosphere, the unity. Sports

This was how it was for a general athletic trainer in the beginning but over time the field gained more and more credibility and in the 1930's a group
of athletic trainers came together to try and form an organization (Evolution of Athletic). This organization was designed to share different practices
from different areas of the world and nation. Though shortly after the beginning of World War II the organization fell apart with the enlistment of
many men into the army to serve (Evolution of Athletic). After the war had ended, athletic trainers began to return to work and succeeded in creating
the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) in 1950 (NATA.org). The NATA was created by a group of two hundred ambitious athletic trainers
that met in Kansas City, Missouri to talk about the need for professional standards and appropriate recognition (NATA.org). This set of standards
presented by the NATA provided athletic trainers across the country with professionalism, education, research, practice settings and certifications for
them to operate by (NATA.org). In 1970, the NATA Certification Committee was put in place to oversee the first certification exams (Evolution of

athletic training (Jenkins). The Board of Certification was established to provide a certification program for entry–level athletic trainers to reassure that
all certified athletic trainers were educated and professional before they began their career (Evolution of Athletic). In 1990, athletic training was

Developing your Professional Identity
An effective professional identity is good for any profession, especially a counseling profession. When a person develops a professional identity it says
who they are and what they stand for in that profession. It also says they know about that profession and could tell another anything they would like to
know about that profession. When a person knows about there profession they can answer any questions they have about that profession.
In this paper the author will discuss the difference between two of the specializations of the counseling discipline. Then this paper will discuss how to
use the terms wellness, resilience, and prevention in a counseling discipline. In this paper the author will discuss how the licensure plays a role in being
a counselor. This paper will also discuss the issues of, how certain associations can help ones professional identity, how to continue the professional
development of counselors, and how technology can play an impact on the counseling profession.
Differences in Two Counseling Specializations The first specialization this author would like to discuss is mental health counseling (MHC). MHC is a
specialization that stresses: "developmental, preventive, and educational as well as remedial aspects of mental health care" (Smith & Robinson, 1995,
p. 158). Some also consider this profession a hybrid and it has an uncomfortable connection between the professions of psychology and educational
counseling.

Abstract In 1981, the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs was established (CACREP, 2016b). Before its
official establishment it went through challenges. These challenges were for CACREP to be an accrediting agency for masters– and doctoral–level
programs and establishing a Commission on Standards Implementation (Sweeney, 1992). CACREP has six standards for which current and future
accreditation programs must follow (CACREP, 2016c). The purpose of these standards are to have are able to definecounseling and distinguish

programs receive the benefit of institutional support, faculty members with one set responsibility, and continuous evaluation (CACREP, 2016d, 2016g).

Whether the changes are related to evidenced–based practice or laws related to practice, the nursing field is constantly evolving. Although APRNs are

chart that shows more restrictions placed on NPs the farther southeast one works. Considering I live in South Carolina, I witness these restrictions
first hand. However, to our advantage, South Carolina has a lot of influence from the military community considering it's high population of military
personnel. "The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is proposing to amend its medical regulations to permit full practice authority of all VA
advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) when they are acting within the scope of their VA employment" (Department of Veterans Affairs,

placed on APRNs as they see more efficient use of healthcare resources in the VA system in every

Personal Statement For A Counselor
The role of a counselor takes on many different forms, and it is a very important career, because it helps people make better life choices. The personal
values we have, and also how we view the world, can help shape the type of counselor we will be. I will take a self–reflective view of what I hold dear,
and also explain how my personal experiences have led me to chose a career in this particular helping profession. I will also describe the differences
between the professional counseling, and other helping professions, such as social work for an example. I also will look at how accreditation,
licensure, and certification, are important in defining what a counselor is, and does.

Secondly, I believe as the wellness model does, that you cannot try to just focus on the client 's symptoms, and current condition, but rather you take a
look at everything, including their past. Then you will be able to get a better outlook on their lives, and then can help them make changes that can have
a lasting effect.
I also feel that, looking at clients in a developmental perspective is also something that is very important. If as professionals we can learn about the
different stages of development, and how each person falls on those stages differently, then we can gain more perspective in the best way to help those
clients. In addition, I feel it 's important that we learn everyone is different, and we should not treat someone the same in their development, as
someone else who presents with similar developmental concerns.
Working in crisis work, I seen first hand the importance prevention and early intervention, and how they could help turn around a client who is having
a difficult time. I value helping clients avoid a situation that may make their current state worse. Therefore, I also value using prevention, and early
intervention, when dealing with a client, especially with a client who is in a state of crisis. To be an effective counselor, I believe you need to

Nurse Licensure And Registration Act
Nurse licensure is the process by which various regulatory bodies, usually a Board of Nursing, regulate the practice of nursing within its jurisdiction.
The primary purpose of the nurse licensure is to grant permission to practice as a nurse after the applicant has met minimal competencies showing that
they are able to safely perform activities within nursing's scope of practice. Licensure is necessary when the regulated activities are complex, and
require specialized knowledge and independent decision making. (Texas) In New Zealand, in 1901, the first nurse licensure and registration program
began when the Nurses Registration Act 1901 was enacted into law. The NCLEX exam is the test that applicants must successfully pass in the United
States prior to being granted a licensure. NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination) is the exam for the licensing of nurses in the United States
and Canada. There are two types, the NCLEX–RN and the NCLEX–PN. After graduating from a school of nursing the student would take the NCLEX
exam in order to receive a nursing license. The National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. (NCSBN), developed and own the NCLEX.
NCLEX–RN is for registered nurses and the NCLEX–PN is for vocational or practical nurses. It is important for a nurse to pass this exam in order to
protect the public. The NCLEX exam tests the knowledge, skills, and abilities that are essential for nursing at the entry level. (Nichols) NCLEX

Nursing Licensure: A Positive Aspects
Nursing is a field where there are high levels of autonomy due to the nature of the job. However, this autonomy also increases the risk of harm to the
general public if practiced by an unqualified nurse. In order to minimize that harm, it is important for nurses to undergo licensure and certification.
Licensure is the legal authority granted by the state to practice within the scope of nursing whereas certifications are issued by non–governmental
organizations which acknowledge that a nurse is qualified and competent in a specific field.
Obtaining a nursing licensure hold many positive aspects. One important aspect is the legal right to practice nursing. This allows licensed registered
nurse to work in hospitals within the scope of practice. The title registered nurse (RN) demonstrates a professional achievement and tells patients that
you are qualified and have met the standards set by Nurse Practice Act (NPA) to practice quality and safe nursing. Other advantages of licensure include
more opportunities for advancements, greater earning potential, and the satisfaction and confidence of both patient and nurse. Acquiring a licensure

Personal Trainers Research Paper

Most of us probably could not afford one session with her. I am referring to the in–your–face drill sergeant who constantly tells you "one more rep"

constant berating from this trainer about what and how much you should be doing can be enough to mentally break some clients. In extreme cases,
a bad relationship with this trainer can lead to complaints to management about a trainer's poor personality. Now this trainer is not completely
wrong; just wrong for some people. There will be some clients who will thrive and blossom under the intensity from a CT Fletcher swearing at you

you through a megaphone to do ten laps around the field after you have spent the last 45 minutes hitting the tackling dummy; then this trainer will be

Nursing, Licensure, And Scope Of Practice Essay
Nursing does not always refer to a registered nurse. According to Brenda Nordstrom in lecture notes titled Nursing Education, Licensure, and
Scope of Practice (2016), there are four main levels of nursing: certified nursing assistant (CNA), licensed practical nurse (LPN), registered nurse
(RN) and advanced practice registered nurse (APRN). Each level has its own list responsibilities and scopes of practice. A scope of practice
defines what actions are permitted for the individual to perform as well as the educational requirements and continued competency requirements
that are expected of the individual. The purpose of having a scope of practice for each level of nursing is to protect the public from any human
errors that may occur as well as hold each healthcare professional accountable for their actions (Nordstrom, 2016). Without a scope of practice, it is
possible that someone may harm the patient inadvertently by stepping outside of his or her knowledge base. The National Conference of State
Legislatures (2013, June 30) defines clearly the scopes of practice for a CNA, an LPN, an RN, and an APRN. A CNA is a person who is certified to
assist with the delivery of direct nursing care to patients. He or she works under the supervision of a registered nurse. An LPN is an individual who
has completed a state approved practical nursing program and is licensed by a state board of nursing to provide patient care. He or she normally

Mental Health Counseling Became A Licensed Profession Essay
Mental Health Counseling became a licensed profession, when Virginia became the first state to pass a regulatory art for professional counselors in
1975 (Pope, 2012). By 1994, 41 state had acquired licensure and there were over 63,000 counselors licensed in the U.S.. Where do you feel the
profession is heading in the future (and why)? The counseling profession is not only the newest profession of its kind, but also leading edge in our
modern age. I believe the future of this profession will embrace distance counseling and an integrated approach including the use of technology. The
counseling profession has been in the forefront. While other professions are still prohibiting and limiting, counselors are stepping out and making their
way in the modern age.
Plans for professional involvement
Describe at least three ways that you could be professionally engaged in the counseling profession. Being a professional, goes beyond one's role as a
counselor. Being a professional includes advocating for my clients and for the advancement of the profession. As a professional, one should also engage
in networking within the profession and with collaborating professions. A professional also requires one to maintain continuing education and to take
advantage of training opportunities. Another important part of the professional field includes conducting research that will lead to betterment of the

The Ethical Dilemm Licensure
Ethical Dilemma: Licensure
Occupational therapy (OT) is a profession grounded in evidence–based and science–driven therapy focused on improving overall quality of life for
individuals by engaging individuals in meaningful occupations (American Occupational Therapy Association [AOTA], 2014). OT has successfully
shifted to a profession that requires OT practitioners to obtain a state license to practice (AOTA, n.d.). The shift requires OT practitioners to adhere to
federal and state regulations surrounding the OT profession. Licensure laws and AOTA Code ofEthics (2015) identified the importance of requiring
OT practitioners to become licensed professionals. Licensure is a necessary regulation and provides protection to clients who receive services by
holding the OT practitioner accountable for services provided. OT practitioners and the OT profession as a whole are protected by licensure laws
because it directly outlines the roles and responsibilities within each state. The AOTA Code of Ethics (2015) outlined lack of proper licensure is
deemed unethical because the violator is breaking licensure laws and breaching the AOTA Code of Ethics.
Unlicensed Occupational Therapist
OT practitioners are responsible for adhering to state license expiration and renewal requirements for state(s) where services are provided (AOTA,
n.d.). If an OT practitioner does not possess a current license in the state where services are provided to clients it is deemed unlawful and unethical. An

Licensure And Certification Of North Carolina
Licensure and Certification In North Carolina When thinking of becoming a counselor, there is a process that is required to fulfill that desire. Not only
are there education requirements, but professional requirements to fulfill. It is not uncommon to have different requirements for each state. The
purpose of this paper is to outline the requirements for North Carolina, along with a few reasons a license might be revoked or suspended, and closing
with an article about a proposal by the American Psychological Association.
A license is essentially a form of permission to do something. An example of this is a driver's license; it gives the driver permission by law to drive
a car because they met all the requirements to drive. Mental Health Counselors in North Carolina are granted licensure. A credential is the
professional title an individual possesses. An example of credential is MD for medical doctor or LPC for Licensed Professional Counselor. Certificate is
a document that shows completion of education of any type, such as a certificate of completion or even a diploma for completing high school.
Laws and Regulations
Practicum and internship requirements during degree programs are required though do not count towards licensure requirements. Practicum requires
17 hours of supervised counseling, which also must be verified by a University Faculty member (NCBLPC, n.d.). Internship students must complete
300 hours of supervised counseling experience. Eight (8) of

State Level Licensure Essay
State level licensure of psychologists is a relatively recent initiative by health boards. After World War II, the demand for psychological expertise
expanded in large part due to an influx of veterans needing mental health services. The Veterans Administration (V.A.) subsequently became a large
employer of psychologists and also established multiple internship training programs, originating "clinical psychologist" as a job title (Reaves, 2006).
At the licensure level, the term "clinical psychologist" is often used to refer to health service psychologists more generally, and has been a source of
confusion (Hall, 2011; Health Care Financing Administration, 2000). As V.A. employment of psychologists expanded, the number of private
practitioners also began to increase, creating an impetus to propose state licensure laws to help establish minimal standards of education and training
(DeMers et al., 2014). Because it is difficult to monitor the quality of care provided by licensed psychologists who are not subjects of a complaint
(Keith–Spiegel & Koocher,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The proliferation of licensure laws was likely slowed by factors such as resistance from psychiatric organizations and university–based psychology
programs, among others (Reaves, 2006). Moreover, litigation stemming from grandparent clauses (e.g., Bloom vs. Texas, 1973) and substantial
equivalency (Cohen vs. State, 1978) signified an arduous transition to doctoral level licensure in the practice of psychology (Reaves, 2006). Further,
sunset laws facilitated, "an arena in which those who were unable to qualify for licensure as psychologists could vent their frustrations before
legislative committees" (Reaves, 2006, p. 22). This legislation led to temporary closures of several state licensing boards, such as Florida in 1979 and
South Dakota in 1980 (Reaves,

The last ABET presenter was Mr. Tom Little, P.E. He is a retired city engineer who shone light upon the significance of continued education and

throughout college, his hard work in the industry made him successful. He has also worked with Kansas State Highway Commission for a few years
until he became an engineer for the City of Grand Forks in North Dakota. After six years in Grand Forks, Tom held the position of City of Mandan
Engineer, where he retired upon 30 years of service. As an NDSU alumni, Tom Little enlightened us about the advantages, challenges and goals of a

Arguments Against Physician Licensure
Physician licensure has been a long debated issue in health economics, with health professionals expressing their support for it and health economists
arguing against it. Critics have argued that licensure has resulted in only benefiting physicians forcing economists to propose creative theories as to
how licensure can assure quality. The literature on licensure has grown with time with theories suggesting the benefit of certification over licensure.
One of the most prominent argument for physician licensure was put forth by Arrow in 1963. He noted that due to the presence of asymmetric
knowledge, patients have far less information about the risks, costs and possibilities of treatment than do doctors. According to him licensure would

By restricting entry into the market, physician services have become increasingly profitable and creating situations where physicians would face a
loss in profits can result in improving results. A loss in license will decrease present value of profits and return on investments. Even if there is a
failure to revoke the license, there will be a loss of reputation and lack of consults which too will decrease profits. Since restricted entry is already
causing an increase in profits for physicians, the loss of earnings will be greater than it would have been in a free entry market. By creating these
financial penalties and incentives one can build situations where doctors are forced to be competent and skillful. This method of licensure also tackles
the problem of the narrow focus of medical disciplinary boards by allowing individuals to be the judge of situations. Marginal incompetence, which is
difficult to prove, will be punished due to clients seeking services elsewhere. In this model, the desirability of licensure depends on the incentives and
whether the marginal benefits to the consumers outweighs the costs. Also, in this framework, certification and licensure are not perfect substitutes with
certification reducing the penalty faced by

A License For Real Estate Agents Are Governed By The...
In the State of Wisconsin, exams, licensing, and continuing education for real estate agents are governed by the Department of Regulation and
Licensing, drl.wi.gov/index.htm. Much of the licensing information pertains not only to the sale of houses, but also to anyone who wishes to obtain
any professional license, from a license to work as a security guard to a boxing license to a license for a private investigator. There are three basic real
estate licenses in Arizona, a broker 's license and a salesperson 's license, as with most other states, and an apprentice salesperson 's license. The
apprentice salesperson is generally already working for a licensed Wisconsin real estate broker and is in the process of obtaining training.
Generally, a salesperson 's license allows the holder to sell real estate only under the auspices of a licensed broker. (Salesperson 's licenses are
generally what people refer to when they say they have a real estate license.) To obtain the salesperson 's license, a person must be at least 18 years
of age and a resident of the United States. The initial questionnaire also asks whether a person, either directly or through a corporation or other entity,
has ever had a professional or business license suspended or revoked, and whether they have ever been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony.

Taking A Look At Licensure

  • 1. Taking a Look at Licensure Licensure is when a person has shown competency in a field of study and has earned the right to become licensed in that line of work. For example when a person wants to become a Physicians Assistant they will take an exam at the conclusion of their higher education to become certified. If they pass their exam they will have earned the right to be a certified (or licensed) physician assistant and be rewarded with the credentials, PA–C (Physician Assistant–Certified) and will be allowed to work in a medical setting under this title. Accreditation is a standard of excellence that is given to a health care organization when it has met certain criteria approved by accrediting agencies. There are several steps involved in becoming an accredited health care facility. A review of the health care organizations practices, policies and procedures are studied and reviewed and than an accredited organization such as The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals will decide if an organization meets the state's, for which they are located in, standards to earn a license to practice health care and if so that organization will become accredited. Wheaton Franciscan Hospital, located in Franklin WI, is an accredited hospital who has met the requirements to hold this title and has earned The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals: Gold Seal of Approval. According to pages 292 & 293 of our textbook; Medical Office Administration: A Worktext (3rd ed), in order for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Is Real Estate Investing? Essay Real estate investing does not always have to go the conventional route. If you want to get started investing in real estate but don 't have a lot of cash, you could think about a Sub2 deal. Sub2 is real estate investing lingo for 'subject to '. It means you are just taking over the payments for the existing mortgage, and the seller will deed the property over to you. This way you are not taking out any formal financing, but you and the seller will have a written contract that the deal is subject to you taking over payments on the original mortgage. Since most banks do not issue assumeable mortgages anymore, this is a way of making it assumeable on your own. You can then agree to give the sellers a lump sum when you sell the property. Why would someone want to let you have the house for taking over the loan? Well, there are many reasons why. It could be a divorce, and the parties are not speaking to each other. It could be a pre–foreclosure property, where the owners are unable to make payments anymore and need help fast. Or possibly a job transfer, and the owner is now carrying two mortgages. You are offering the owners a fast solution. It 's not like them having to put the property on the market and wait until it sells. Some of these people don 't have that kind of time. By you taking over payments, it is an immediate relief of payment burdens on the seller, and they will often be happy to wait a bit for the lump sum. An example transaction would be this: A prospective ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Cameron Auto Parts Alex Cameron took over the reins of his family business after his graduation, and when he did, Cameron Auto Parts was immediately faced with a big financial crisis. When he took over the company in 1991, sales in 1990 dropped to $48 million and for the first six months of 1991 to $18 million. Cameron Auto Parts also lost $2.5 million in 1990 and the same amount in the first 6 months of 1991. Market forces, such as the Japanese taking an increasing share of the market, were driving the North American auto producers to try to advance their technology and to lower the prices at the same time. At that time, Alex had to cut the workforce from 720 to 470 people. He was thinking of different steps of how to increase his sales. He wanted to enter... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moreover, the company tried to continue having good relationships with key buyers associated with major industries. Design group was an essential role to develop new types of couplings. Cameron was willing to pay attention on solving customer's problem as well. Licensing Alex wanted to capture foreign markets directly but he didn't have enough resources on its own to do that. After their promising new product was developed, they had a chance to license it to a Scottish manufacturer, McTaggart. McTaggart couldn't build the market based on shipments from America because it was too expensive. There was a 5% tariff coming in, freight and insurance was another 10% on top of the price and also there was the matter of currency values. He wanted to enter a licensing agreement. McTaggart already had a demand for the product so getting into a license agreement with him would be in Alex's advantage. For Alex it was a good way to enter the U.K. market swiftly via McTaggart's sales force. There was no financial risk involved. If Alex agreed on licensing he would have advantages such as low investment costs, reduced financial risk and quick market entry. He agreed on a deal with McTaggart for the U.K market only so he got his chance to exploit its technology there. The license granted to McTaggart will help bring in the cash flow needed so that they can try to expand. However, the profit of the licensor may not be maximized ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Mandatory Continuing Professional Development ( Cpd ) For... Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for professional engineers in Ontario has been an issue subject to controversy over the years. The controversy surrounding the issue is due in part to the complications of introducing such a program, and the fact that "Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is the only professional engineering association in Canada that does not have a CPD program [1]." The debate regarding CPD for professional engineers in Ontario is pertinent because the resolution has been ongoing since September of 2013, and is up for approval in the upcoming February 2016 PEO council meeting [2]. Therefore, it is important that the CPD debate is resolved and a consensus is reached. Mandatory CPD is a concept to which professionals are required and encouraged to maintain and enhance their knowledge throughout their careers to provide a standard of competence to those practicing [3]. The goal of CPD is to be "proactive in regulating the profession...rather than (reactively)...punishing license holders for practice failures [1]." Introducing a CPD program will ensure public safety, "contribute to a reduction in risk for the public and individual practitioner", and "push the profession to higher levels of skills and knowledge" [1]. As a result, the professional engineers of Ontario should engage in mandatory CPD to ensure the continued competency of those practicing and the safety of the public. The proactive nature of a CPD program may prevent failures ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Coordinated Licensure Information System affords information sharing more efficient and valuable As NCSBN launched this model, a centralized data base was created. To have any nurseВЎВЇs licensure status verified quickly proves valuable to both nurses and boards of nursing. Endorsement into a compact state becomes much more efficient. With regard to the disciplinary information, much dispute has been raised due to the vague and broad terms used about the disciplinary information to be contained in the database. • 8. Essay On Nurse Licensure Nursing licensure is the second most licensed practice in the United States.1 However, the way in which nurses are licensed is no longer practical and should be changed to fit the changing times. To obtain nursing licenses, one must go through nursing school and then take a national state exam known as the NCLEX. After one passes the NCLEX, he or she must then obtain a license from the state he or she resides in. The fact that a nurse can only obtain a license via a state–by–state process, after taking a national exam, is becoming a large problem in the United States. The current licensure, state–by–state, does not allow for nursing to grow and become more uniformed. Therefore, in 1997 the State Board of Nursing (BON) came up the with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). Which allows some nurses living in certain states to work in other states as well. However, this compact... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A national nurse licensure would allow for a national practice of nursing. The current issue is that "because of variability in state practice acts, a nurse who is competent to perform a particular procedure in one state may be legally barred from doing that same procedure in another.".2 Therefore, the practice of a national nurse licensure would allow for all nurses to perform their scope of practice in the same safe manner. Furthermore, having a harmonized practice across the nation would ensure that all nurses are held to the same expectations and standards.2 Currently, each state determines the standards that nurses must follow therefore not every single nurse in the United States must follow the same standards. By having the same standards, the field of nursing would become more uniform and safer. Nonetheless, if nurse licensure was national a single set of guidelines would be established which would make the practice safer for nurses and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. National Nursing Licensure Essay Benefits of National Nursing Licensure versus Individual State Licensure Introduction Nursing is a crucial field, which affects the lives of people. The public does not have enough information pertaining those who practice nursing this led to the introduction of nursing licensure to protect the public from unqualified persons. This license sets qualifications and competence of nursing professionals. Compared to state nursing licensure, national nursing licensure advocates for a more effective practice for nurses. It reduces or lessens nursing shortage by promoting mobility of the nursing professionals. National nursing licensure has a number of advantages over individual state nursing licensure. These include enhanced patient access to quality nursing care, improved discipline and information distribution amongst the states, physical and electronic provision of care by competent nurses, and ease of employers to more movable and proficient nurses (Fraziea, 2012). Advantages of National Licensure/ Disadvantages of Individual State Licensure More proficient and mobile nurses, national license authorizes nurses to work in other states that practice of national licensing. This ensures the availability of nurses wherever they are needed hence it improves their performance to the public. Individual state licensure only allows nurses to operate in the country of their registration and not any other country (Fraziea, 2012). Physical and electronic service provision of care ... This year, I have expanded that list to include other types of personal trainers that you should avoid. These trainers are often much less obvious to spot. You may be several sessions or several weeks into your training before you discover what type of trainer you truly have. Depending on what you are looking for out of a trainer, one of these trainers may end up being perfect for you. • 11. The Immigration Administration Of New Zealand Essay New Zealand (NZ) ranks very well in quality of living standards globally and thereby makes it a sought–after destination for immigration. To ensure protection of interest of immigrants and to safeguard the reputation of New Zealand as a top destination of choice – the Immigration Advisers function is regulated via implementation of the Immigration Advisers Licensing Act 2007 ('The Act'). In the case of ZW v Immigration Advisers Authority, Judge Priestley J rightly stated that Parliament's objective for passing the Act was to clean up the Immigration Advisers industry, which was subject to much justified criticism; towards providing an improved system of transparency, competency, Conduct Code and acceptable standards of service (ZW v Immigration Advisers Authority [2012] NZHC 1069 at [41]). This Act managed to build an overarching legal architecture with clear operating regime, defined stakeholders' accountabilities, well–defined process steps and created necessary checks & balances to protect all involved. The Act sits at the centre of the Legal framework that holds the Immigration Advisory function and creates the necessary safeguards to protect consumers and enhance the New Zealand's reputation by regulating the practice of providing immigration advice both onshore and offshore. Even to this day I still can never get enough of sports. Though shortly after the beginning of World War II the organization fell apart with the enlistment of many men into the army to serve (Evolution of Athletic). After the war had ended, athletic trainers began to return to work and succeeded in creating the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) in 1950 (NATA.org). The NATA was created by a group of two hundred ambitious athletic trainers that met in Kansas City, Missouri to talk about the need for professional standards and appropriate recognition (NATA.org). Developing your Professional Identity An effective professional identity is good for any profession, especially a counseling profession. When a person develops a professional identity it says who they are and what they stand for in that profession. It also says they know about that profession and could tell another anything they would like to know about that profession. When a person knows about there profession they can answer any questions they have about that profession. In this paper the author will discuss the difference between two of the specializations of the counseling discipline. Then this paper will discuss how to use the terms wellness, resilience, and prevention in a counseling discipline. In this paper the author will discuss how the licensure plays a role in being a counselor. This paper will also discuss the issues of, how certain associations can help ones professional identity, how to continue the professional development of counselors, and how technology can play an impact on the counseling profession. Differences in Two Counseling Specializations The first specialization this author would like to discuss is mental health counseling (MHC). MHC is a specialization that stresses: "developmental, preventive, and educational as well as remedial aspects of mental health care" (Smith & Robinson, 1995, p. 158). Some also consider this profession a hybrid and it has an uncomfortable connection between the professions of psychology and educational counseling. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Before its official establishment it went through challenges. These challenges were for CACREP to be an accrediting agency for masters– and doctoral–level programs and establishing a Commission on Standards Implementation (Sweeney, 1992). CACREP has six standards for which current and future accreditation programs must follow (CACREP, 2016c). The purpose of these standards are to have are able to definecounseling and distinguish themselves from other behavioral health fields. The primary purpose of the nurse licensure is to grant permission to practice as a nurse after the applicant has met minimal competencies showing that they are able to safely perform activities within nursing's scope of practice. Licensure is necessary when the regulated activities are complex, and require specialized knowledge and independent decision making. • 31. Nursing, Licensure, And Scope Of Practice Essay Nursing does not always refer to a registered nurse. According to Brenda Nordstrom in lecture notes titled Nursing Education, Licensure, and Scope of Practice (2016), there are four main levels of nursing: certified nursing assistant (CNA), licensed practical nurse (LPN), registered nurse (RN) and advanced practice registered nurse (APRN). Each level has its own list responsibilities and scopes of practice. A scope of practice defines what actions are permitted for the individual to perform as well as the educational requirements and continued competency requirements that are expected of the individual. The purpose of having a scope of practice for each level of nursing is to protect the public from any human errors that may occur as well as hold each healthcare professional accountable for their actions (Nordstrom, 2016). Without a scope of practice, it is possible that someone may harm the patient inadvertently by stepping outside of his or her knowledge base. The National Conference of State Legislatures (2013, June 30) defines clearly the scopes of practice for a CNA, an LPN, an RN, and an APRN. A CNA is a person who is certified to assist with the delivery of direct nursing care to patients. He or she works under the supervision of a registered nurse. An LPN is an individual who has completed a state approved practical nursing program and is licensed by a state board of nursing to provide patient care. OT has successfully shifted to a profession that requires OT practitioners to obtain a state license to practice (AOTA, n.d.). The shift requires OT practitioners to adhere to federal and state regulations surrounding the OT profession. Licensure laws and AOTA Code ofEthics (2015) identified the importance of requiring OT practitioners to become licensed professionals. Licensure is a necessary regulation and provides protection to clients who receive services by holding the OT practitioner accountable for services provided. OT practitioners and the OT profession as a whole are protected by licensure laws because it directly outlines the roles and responsibilities within each state. The AOTA Code of Ethics (2015) outlined lack of proper licensure is deemed unethical because the violator is breaking licensure laws and breaching the AOTA Code of Ethics. Unlicensed Occupational Therapist OT practitioners are responsible for adhering to state license expiration and renewal requirements for state(s) where services are provided (AOTA, n.d.). • 38. State Level Licensure Essay State level licensure of psychologists is a relatively recent initiative by health boards. After World War II, the demand for psychological expertise expanded in large part due to an influx of veterans needing mental health services. The Veterans Administration (V.A.) subsequently became a large employer of psychologists and also established multiple internship training programs, originating "clinical psychologist" as a job title (Reaves, 2006). At the licensure level, the term "clinical psychologist" is often used to refer to health service psychologists more generally, and has been a source of confusion (Hall, 2011; Health Care Financing Administration, 2000). As V.A. employment of psychologists expanded, the number of private practitioners also began to increase, creating an impetus to propose state licensure laws to help establish minimal standards of education and training (DeMers et al., 2014). Because it is difficult to monitor the quality of care provided by licensed psychologists who are not subjects of a complaint (Keith–Spiegel & Koocher,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Further, sunset laws facilitated, "an arena in which those who were unable to qualify for licensure as psychologists could vent their frustrations before legislative committees" (Reaves, 2006, p. 22). Arguments Against Physician Licensure Physician licensure has been a long debated issue in health economics, with health professionals expressing their support for it and health economists arguing against it. Critics have argued that licensure has resulted in only benefiting physicians forcing economists to propose creative theories as to how licensure can assure quality. The literature on licensure has grown with time with theories suggesting the benefit of certification over licensure. One of the most prominent argument for physician licensure was put forth by Arrow in 1963. He noted that due to the presence of asymmetric knowledge, patients have far less information about the risks, costs and possibilities of treatment than do doctors. According to him licensure would broaden ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By restricting entry into the market, physician services have become increasingly profitable and creating situations where physicians would face a loss in profits can result in improving results. A loss in license will decrease present value of profits and return on investments. Even if there is a failure to revoke the license, there will be a loss of reputation and lack of consults which too will decrease profits. Since restricted entry is already causing an increase in profits for physicians, the loss of earnings will be greater than it would have been in a free entry market. By creating these financial penalties and incentives one can build situations where doctors are forced to be competent and skillful. This method of licensure also tackles the problem of the narrow focus of medical disciplinary boards by allowing individuals to be the judge of situations. Marginal incompetence, which is difficult to prove, will be punished due to clients seeking services elsewhere. In this model, the desirability of licensure depends on the incentives and whether the marginal benefits to the consumers outweighs the costs.
