This document provides information about a 2-day teaching program on making a cob lift. The program will teach participants how to identify suitable soil features, perform soil tests, add materials like straw, prepare the work site, implement the first cob lift, and use tools. The training is designed for those interested in eco-construction and masonry. It will be held on March 11 and May 21, 2014 and cover topics like introducing earth as a building material, using tools, and making two cob lifts, with the second using mechanized tools. PRE-CONDITIONS
This training is a demonstration action conceived as a first encounter with earth as a building
material.
It requires motivation and oral and written comprehension of French.
It uses concepts of quantity.
FEATURES OF THE OCCUPATIONAL ACTIVITY
The occupation is that of a mason who has specialized in eco-construction or in restoring old buildings.
This activity requires analytical, mathematical and conversion capabilities, as well as to communicate and a strong sensitivity for
natural materials. It is carried out inside and / or outside, on new or old buildings (refurbishment)It can also be carried out
indoors to extend your skills on plasters, wattle and daub, ...
Good physical condition is required. The activity can be carried out at height

Schedule : 9.00 a.m.-12.00 a.m. / 1.00 p.m.- 5.00 p.m.
Location : St Juvat, 22630 (Côtes d’Armor), municipal greenhouse site, meeting point at the car park
by the church.
