Audience research analysis
Intentions and aims
• By looking at the questionnaire that I have completed,
I hope that many of the audience that I have asked,
have chosen the options that we have put down which
follows the path were planning to take to create our
final piece for the opening scene as it was already
planned what the basic story line was. Likewise, I also
wanted to gain a lot of information and knowledge to
what appeals to our audience so that we are able to
create something similar to what our target audience
wants, enabling us to get the best out of what we
created and hoping that they will like the opening
scene.
By looking at this pie chart I could tell that a thriller subgenre that people enjoyed the most
was in fact action, comedy, and horror. Our opening scene includes action due to the death
and the chase scene. Likewise, this helped us to identify what to include in our final piece to
attract as many of the audiences out there however, taking in account of our planned out
story and making it relate to it as much as possible.
Looking at this pie chart demonstrating what the main reasons wo which people
enjoy watching thriller movies was able to help me identify what my opening scene
to should be more like so that it appeals to our audience. From this graph I was able
to tell that death and supernatural and a chase scene appeals most to our audience,
which is a good thing because our opening scene will include a chase scene and
death.
This question helped us to identify what the main idea that makes people
watch a thriller movies and an obvious reason for this is the storyline, which
Was voted it was able to realise that the story line was the main thing
that we needed to focus on to make our work a lot better and more interesting
For the most out of the 30+ people who took our questionnaire.
This is great because the audience to enjoy ad watch.
This question was set to help up identify what people enjoyed watching the most,
either it being fiction or non-fiction, it helped us because we were able to make our
opening scene more to fit their preferences. From this pie chart, I was able to tell
that fiction was voted more than non-fiction. This allowed me and my group make
our work, work ore towards being fiction than non-fiction.
WHAT DO YOU PREFER TO SEE IN AN OPENING SCENE
MYSTERY
SUSPENCE
BACK STORY
ACTION
OTHER
This question was able to help to me realise what we needed our opening scene to
include to attract as much of audience so that t will lead them to carry on wanting to
watch the rest of the film. the opening scene had to captivate our audience, so it was
important we made it that best. Looking at the results that I have collected I could
see that the suspense in the opening scene. This was a great question because I was
equally able to input this data and use it in my opening scene to grab the attention
of our audience by creating suspense. I also I was able to identify was other, mystery,
and the back story were least favourite for an opening scene.
Furthermore, this diagram helped to make sure we didn’t make any thing that the
audience would dislike to see in an opening scene and further lead them to not
watch any further. Being too predictable will make the audience not like the opening
scene and captivate them. this will benefit us to not make the scene too predictable
or try to minimise the bad acting. This can be done by getting good actors and
actresses to make it seem better acting.
This is another way to identify how to get the highest marks as possible to have
something that everyone will enjoy and easily get captivated in. we listed a few
thriller movies, and questioned people on what move they enjoyed the most out of
the list we gave. This was a great way to show the resembles of what people enjoyed
and how our movie is going follow up because the movies we have picked out where
similar to the genre of our own movie that we will creating. The Hunger Games and
inception were voted best out of the options we gave . However, our opening scenes
don’t resemble what occurs in these movies due to their originality.
