Masthead Idea
• For my masthead, I would like to include the
word ‘pop’ in it as it would clearly show the
  genre of magazine to readers.

• I have thought about calling it either ‘Pop
Today’ or ‘Sugar Pop’ as they both represent
the genre and are short and catchy.
Article Ideas
For the articles included within the magazine, I
would like to include:
• Interviews with artists
• About upcoming concerts
• New technology
• Music reviews
• Competitions
• Quizzes
Artist/Band Ideas
From my questionnaire I found that people’s
favourite pop artists were:
• Beyoncé
• Justin Bieber
• Usher
• Justin Timberlake
Contents Page
• I would like to include a welcome/editor’s
note on the contents page to welcome the
readers to the magazine and make them feel a
  part of it.
Double Page Spread Ideas
• For my double page spread I would like to
make my article about the “Top 20 New
Songs” with various images to anchor the text
and short descriptions of each song.
The Price
• I think I am going to price the magazine at
£2.50 as it is not unreasonable but we would
still earn a big profit from it.
Results From
My Focus Group
Masthead
I asked my focus group if they thought the title
for my magazine was suitable and the majority
of them said yes. They preferred ‘Pop Today’
rather than ‘Sugar Pop’ as someone said that
this could come across as quite patronising. I am
also going to look around at more pop
magazines to get a better idea of what is already
                      out there.
Articles
I asked my focus group if the articles I would
include in my magazine are alright and they said
yes, however with my technology related article
I should make sure it is all related to music, with
apps and iTunes etc. Someone also suggested
that I should include posters within the
magazine of popular artists to provide the
readers with something to keep and display.
Contents
My focus group all agreed that having a
welcome/editors note is a good idea as it makes
the reader feel as though they belong to the
magazine. They also suggested that I should
include a lot of images on my contents page,
relating to the articles and that I should include
               buzz words as well.
Double Page Spread
My focus group thought that my idea of the
“Top 20 New Songs” article for the double page
spread was a good idea, and that I should
include quotes from a few of the songs, perhaps
pull quotes to intrigue the reader.
Price
The majority of my focus group agreed that
£2.50 was a reasonable price however one
person said that £1.50 would be better, so I may
reduce the price to £2.20 so that more people
would be willing to purchase it.
