1. College Magazine Questionnaire Evaluation
I found that when analysing the front covers, I was most drawn to the masthead and central image,
also supported by my questionnaire as I asked my target audience of college students what draws
them in to picking up and buying the magazine and they said the masthead and central image as
well. They also said that they would prefer the central image to be of a female college student, so I
am going to use this information and provide them with what they would like to see.
When analysing the front covers, I found that after seeing the masthead and central image, the
cover lines were what caught my attention and made me more intrigued to know what’s inside. I
also asked on my questionnaire if cover lines help readers to know whether they would purchase the
magazine or not and they said yes, therefore I will use a few cover lines to inform the target market
what to expect inside.
I asked in my questionnaire if including a website address for the magazine on the front cover would
be a good idea and everyone said yes, so I am going to include a website for readers to access which
creates convergence within the magazine.
Regarding the contents page, I asked on my questionnaire if I should include a short article and the
majority of people said no, so I am not going to overload the page with too much text as this
obviously doesn’t appeal to the target market.
