It´s my goal to give my customers an authentic experience and demonstrate the story.
For example, during my tours I dress up in clothes which represent the theme of the
tour. Before the tours customers can get inspired by the theme by reading my blog.
In my blog I try to bring the local story to life by using lots of examples. During
the tours , which are almost like theatre performances, I get tourists involved
through different roles and tasks so the become part of the story. During the tour
I create opportunities for the customers to share their experiences via Instagram
and other social medial channels. After the tours the story continues on my blog.
Even those tourists who choose not to have an active role during the tour, need to
have a memorable guiding experience. Tourism is an experience, it is not only about
historical moments.
• Future oriented guide roles and their required competences
• Customer Journey - method, which describes the critical touchpoints of customer
experiences during a guiding tour (see template)
• Service blueprint, which describes guide’s tasks and activities, as well as
customer’s actions during the guided tour (see template)
• Additional: story telling
Personally I´m interested in historical
issues and stories. I love art. I
constantly seek information and further my
knowledge of different themes. I actively
create a script of my guiding tours using
available service design tools.
• Sharing the knowledge
• Responsible choices
• Food is an encounter with a
culture (historical aspect
with local offer)
• Understanding different
cultural expectations
• Taking religious issues
into consideration
• Using digital tools and
social media
• Multisensory experience
• Understanding the
different needs of the
customers
• Improvisation (singing,
puppet show,...)

HOW I WORK AS A MULTISENSORY DESIGNER GUIDE:
My personal desire in the guiding business is to design services, which use the
latest technology. In my opinion guiding needs to provide multisensory experiences
and give customers an opportunity to be an active part of a guided tour.
It´s important to be aware of what is happening at the moment and even more, to be a
bit ahead of the trend – and the customer. In my guided tours I use digital tools,
social media and multisensory aspects to activate the group. I take my tablet on the
tour and might play some historical speech or local music. I might show a video
about how the exact place we’re standing looks like in winter, covered in snow. Or I
might arrange a treasure hunt and send clues via text messages.
To make the experiential tour even more memorable, these days it’s necessary to take
photos and share them with friends and families. Sharing good experiences in social
media is off course important for the organisation too. I see myself as a best-
practice editor. I encourage customers to take photos, videos and audio during the
tours and ask them share those in social media. Through social media I get new
suggestions for my tours.
SHARING IS SUSTAINABLE AND AN ADVENTURE FOR ALL! “Look up information, discover, experience
and share!”

TESTIMONIAL ON THE USE OF INNOGUIDE 2.0 SERVICE DESIGN TOOLS: QUIZ, GUIDE ROLES, CUSTOMER JOURNEY, SERVICE
BLUEPRINT
I’m very interested in developing my services, myself and trips further. I have collected feedback always, but I like
to test new ways to do that as well. Service design thinking gives the opportunity to make changes with the customers
and from their point of view. Specially I was interested how to collect customers’ deeper and genuine feelings from
the trips. How to inspire customers to answer the feedback questionnaires and how to remind how they really felt
during the trip. With the help of quiz and personas, I was able to evaluate and develop my own guide personas.

I planned a customer journey template with a tourism and service design student. First the student benchmarked and
observed one of my forest trip for business clients and according to that the customer journey template was designed.
We fixed the main service moments and touch points into the customer journey template and then it was ready to send to
customers.
First of all it was great to get the feedback from benchmarking. Seeing the customer journey and the touch points
opened many details of my trip. We decided to sent the CJ feedback template through email and it was good decision
while we got many answers. Customers thought it was an easy way of filling them. The electronic answers were easier to
collect together and compare as well. Customer journey feedback gives much more detailed information than standard
feedbacks. It’s more visible and lively. With the help of feedback I can develop my trips and get useful tips for the
future. I work also as a teacher and guide trainer. I think the customer journey is useful also when training new
guide students or when familiarizing new trainees or staff. You can very visually show what kind of journey the
customer takes, what are the most critical moments and what are the customer’s need and wants during the journey.

• palaute helpottaa palveluiden kehittämistä
• rehellinen palaute korvaamatonta
• hyvät ideat käyttöön
• omien vieraiden palaute erityisen arvokasta
• parhaat vinkit vapaamuotoisesta palautteesta
19. “Design an ideal Wallet”
A group activity (from 2 to 100+ participants) in which students rapidly do a "full cycle
through the design process." The project is broken down into specific steps (of a few
minutes each), and students have worksheet packets that guide them.
What will you learn?
Participants get the feel of a design approach and get a taste of each design "mode"
(empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test).
Specifically, we hope students see the value of engaging with real people to help
them ground their design decisions, that low-resolutions prototypes are useful to
learn from (take an iterative approach), and to bias toward action.

41. Mikä
▶ Kerättyyn tietoon pohjautuva fiktiivinen henkilökuva.
▶ Kuvaa asiakkaan käytänteitä, motiiveja, tarpeita,
turhaumia ja arvomaailmaa.
Miten
▶ Kerätään tietoa eri menetelmin (haastatteluin,
havainnoimalla, luotaimilla,jne.).
▶ Kuvitteellisesta asiakkaasta tehdään yleensä visuaalinen
kuvaus.
Persoona / asiakasprofiili
42. Miksi
▶ Persoona auttaa ymmärtämään asiakaskäyttäytymistä ja
kuvaa syitä, tunteita ja arvostuksia.
Mitä pitää huomioida
▶ Persoonat eivät ole sama kuin yksittäinen kuluttaja.
▶ Vaikka lopputuotos on fiktiivinen, taustalla tulee olla
aitoa, tutkittua tietoa.

• OSOITTAA palvelukokemuksen
• HAVAINNOLLISTAA roolit

• PALJASTAA ongelmakohtia
59. Service Blueprint

Palveluprosessin analysointiin kehitetty
menetelmä.
Palvelun blueprint on prosessikaavio, joka
kuvaa yksityiskohtaisesti palveluprosessin
etenemistä ja eri osallistujien, erityisesti
myös asiakkaan, rooleja.
Kuvaa palveluprosessin siten että
henkilöstö, asiakkaat ja johtajat ymmärtävät
kaikki samalla tavalla millainen palvelun
kokonaisuus on.
