I hope to control my anxiety while speaking in front of a group, since there might be a situation in
my field that requires me to inform others of daily logs or protocols. It would be fulfilling to get
others passionate about a subject that I favor and means a lot to me, as well as presentations are
an expected process in future classes and need to be mastered. I think most people can identify
with this movie, the fear of speaking out to others to convince them of your point. The fear of
trying to prove a point to others that may have more knowledge on the subject or be able to refute

find uniforms necessary, others just hate the colors. I think that the students who think uniforms are

Before engaging in the debates with Senator Stephen A. Douglas, Lincoln was relatively unknown in
the political world and was just beginning his career in politics. Abraham Lincoln's reputation was
just starting to grow, and his life was about to make a drastic change. The Lincoln–Douglas debates
of 1858 were a turning point in Abraham Lincoln's political career.

rest of the debates was whether or not the government should ban slavery in the United States, or do

Industrial revolution has played a major part in global warming. Carbon dioxide is known to be
the most important single factoring global warming. Carbon dioxide has risen to up to 30%. This
is partly due to fossil fuels, which are used to run vehicles, business, to heat up homes and power
factories. For carbon dioxide, a secondary factor is deforestation and the burning of deforestation.
CFCs emitted from aerosols, air conditioners, refrigerators and foam packagings are the most
detrimental of greenhouse gases. Methane is released decomposing organic matter such as
animal dung, swamps and waste dumps. Nitric oxide is released from car exhausts, agricultural
fertilisers and power stations. The US is known to have produced up to about a fifth of all
greenhouse gases. Future predictions are that there could be violent storms and sea levels will be
raised. To add to that there could be more droughts torrential rainfall and even worse, parts of the
polar ice caps would start melting which could flood vast areas around the edges of continents. Also
scientists have predicted that by 2100, carbon dioxide concentrations are known to be 30 – 150%

The mind body debate has been occurring for all of human history. Ideas of a soul, or an existence
beyond the physical can be found in ancient peoples, and can be found, at least in some capacity, in

under which capital punishment is justified. I will proceed to defend my claim that capital

Although the gay community makes up a small percentage of the American population, they have
and will be very influential in our society. Our society sets many standards for people to live by,
but often times these standards evolve through time in such a way that no one can predict.
Slavery serves as a good example: A survey done in the 1700's of the American colonies would
probably reveal a majority of people felt slavery was alright, some might have even pointed out
that Christians used slavery in the past, as mentioned in the bible. Slowly the black population,

In reading stories about identical twins my point of view is easily understood. Various types of
psychologist have analyzed the study of identical twins. It shows that individuals with the same
genetic make–up can be totally different, when it comes to personality. Nurture promotes the twins

than the same exact personality of the other half. I think this great debate weighs heavier on the
nurture side. As a child my parents, and sibling overshadowed my genetic make–up. No matter how
much I thought my physical traits made me behave. It did not affect me more than the things that I
had seen and been exposed to. The more things that I had seen around and experienced made me the
person that I am today. If my genetic make–up was totally different, to a certain extent, I am sure
that I?d behave the same way that I do presently. There are exceptions to that. For instance if I
were six foot five and one hundred and ninety pounds, I?d most likely be in the NBA and be really
rich. I think if I was really rich and in the NBA I wouldn?t have the same worries that I have
today. Even if before I were in the NBA I would have lots of attention and have a lot more
