2. Analyze the Learner
• The class is a 10th grade Honors History class with 21
students. There are 7 males and 14 females. The class
consists of 9 black students, 11 white students, and 1 Native
American student. 1 of these students suffers from Autism but
is high functioning and is well liked by his classmates. Most
students are visual learners and prefer class discussion.
3. Main Objective
• Students will describe and analyze the before and after effects of the
Battle’s of Lexington and Concord by way of pictures, educational
videos, and various class discussions as well as working together in
groups to create a presentation of their choosing by the end of the
week with 100% accuracy.
4. Day to Day Breakdown
• Day 1: Tensions running high, why did the Colonies want to succeed
from England?
• Day 2: England’s unfair rule over the Colonies (Stamp Act, Sugar
Act, Improper Taxation).
• Day 3: The “shot heard round the world.”
• Day 4: Implications of the Battle’s of Lexington and Concord.
• Day 5: Group Presentations/Conclusion of Lesson
5. Use of Technology
• Students will watch videos on computers as well as a television.
• Students will be able to use computers to research for their group
presentations.
• Students will be allowed to use any type of technology in their
presentation.
