Introduction:When the tensions between the Colonists and their big bad brother from across the
pond, the British, became too hard to ignore, the Colonists decided that action needed to be
taken. Colonists began to rebel but no big event had yet to throw the colonies out of balance yet.
Well when the British decide to advance upon Concord, Paul Revere and others decided that
something needed to be done. Paul Revere warned people that the Regulars were coming and the
rest is history.
Task: You are Paul Revere’s horse that he is riding throughout the land to go alert the people
between the towns of Boston and Lexington. You travel far distances to alert these people and
watch as the countryside begins to stir.
Process: The students will work alone and use their book as well as the websites provided in
order to form a two to three page paper (Times New Roman, 12 point font, Double-Spaced)
about Paul Reveres famous ride. They are to write about the things that they knew, the things
that they have learned, and then write through the horse’s perspective carrying Paul around
Massachusetts for the night.
