Activity -1: Acquainting with sounds and rhymes.
(1) Read the poem given below.
I see with my Eyes
I eat with my Hand
I smell with my Nose
On the Feet I do stand.
I listen with Ears
With Lips talk Tongue

What is right and wrong?
In the above poem there are some rhyming words (words that rhyme), e.g., hand, stand, tongue
and wrong. Here hand rhymes with stand and tongue rhymes with the word wrong.
(2) Now read out the following poem aloud.

  • 2. 1 Activity -1: Acquainting with sounds and rhymes. (1) Read the poem given below. I see with my Eyes I eat with my Hand I smell with my Nose On the Feet I do stand. I listen with Ears With Lips talk Tongue I think in my Head What is right and wrong? In the above poem there are some rhyming words (words that rhyme), e.g., hand, stand, tongue and wrong. Here hand rhymes with stand and tongue rhymes with the word wrong. (2) Now read out the following poem aloud. Cats mew Dogs bark Lions roar Ducks quack. Monkeys chatter Jackals Howl Goats bleat Tigers growl. Frogs croak Pigeons coo Sparrows chirp Cows moo. Bulls bellow Donkeys bray Elephants trumpet Horses neigh. Mice squeak Cocks crow Caw Caw says the Crow. Snakes Hiss Pigs Grunt Creatures make sound a lot.

Rhyming words: Bark Quack (3) Let us find some more rhyming words from the poem given below; On way to school Pinky saw by a pool - A swarm of bees In a cluster of trees. Potatoes are brown onions are pink Carrots have juice which I can drink. Vegetables make me healthy and wise So eat some daily with roti and rice.  In the above poem, you read about some vegetables.
