Dinosaur extinction: An analysis of events and theories that possibly led to the dinosaurs' demise.
Ever since the history of Earth has been studied using fossil records, extinctions have always been
the object of fascination and interest, particularly the mass extinctions that occurred throughout
Earth's history. A mass extinction can be caused by disruptive global environmental changes, where
large numbers of species have become extinct (Urry et al. 2008). There have been five major
extinctions documented based on fossil records over the past 500 million years, but the Cretaceous
(KT boundary extinction – a name that meant it began the Tertiary era) extinction caught a lot of ...

According to the research made by Alvarez (1980), it was due to an asteroid impact that single–
handedly destroyed dinosaurs to extinction. Advocacy of this mechanism has been aided by the
availability and tangibility of supporting evidence in the form of impact craters– the Chicxulub
crater in the Yucatan Peninsula's date and timing of impact (dating produced an almost exact date of
65 million years ago), location, enormous size–170 km (Hildebrand et al.1991) and its high iridium
content ( a metal not commonly found at the Earth's surface) make it seem that with a theoretical
asteroid 10 km big caused the crater great damage at the end of the Cretaceous (Alvarez et al. 1980).
How exactly the asteroid damaged the Earth remains unclear, but the power released by such an
impact is unquestionable. Effects possibly include reduced sunlight over a period of several months
which possibly led to the decline or even total halt of primary production (via photosynthesis). One
of the dominant signatures of the extinction at the KT boundary was the low activity of primary
production, the possibility of reduced sunlight is high (Schulte et al. 2010) . Even if the primary
production proved to be on a decline when this impact occurred, there is still some uncertainties as
to where exactly the impact hit. This was why asymmetries in subsurface features of the Chicxulub
crater were observed via geophysical methods were analyzed and it was calculated from estimates
that the

Methodology of Financial Analysis:
The financial strength or weakness of a company is measured against the following basic criteria:
Liquidity, Solvency, Profitability and Financial efficiency.
From an investor point of view, however, after having measured the company's financial strength
through above criteria, the most important step is to evaluate whether investing in the stocks of this
company carry the required returns for investment. This shall be done by: company's stock
performance
The company's performance on these dimensions shall be measured through financial ratios
analysis. As there are many variations of ratios available to measure more or less the same aspect of
performance, I have short–listed, in the following table, the key ratios that will be utilized in the
analysis:
Performance Aspect Growth and Profitability Measure or Ratio General Growth Profit Margin (%)
ROCE (%) ROSF (%) Current Ratio Sh. holders Liq. ratio Solvency ratio (%) Gearing ratio (%)

Gravimetric Analysis of a Soluble Sulfate
Abstract Gravimetric analysis describes the methods for finding the chemical constituent of analyte
in a solution through analytical chemistry. This method uses the mass of solid SO42–, with an
unknown quantity and quality, to qualitatively determine the makeup of the solid SO3–. Two
separate experiments with the initial compounds of BaCl2 and SO42– were put into solution to
allow for the BaSO4 precipitate to form. Through filtration and ignition of precipitate containing
ashless papers, the solid masses of BaSO4 were attained. With a gravimetric factor of 1:1, sample 1
resulted in the formation of 0.5874g BaSO4 from 0.4004g of SO42–, while sample 2 resulted in the
formation of 0.4073g BaSO4 from 0.3985g of SO42–. The two ... Show more content on

Two samples of unknown #8 were taken and weighed at 0.4004g (Sample 1) and 0.3985g (Sample
2). The two samples were placed into separate 400 mL beakers along with 200 mL of DI water
containing 4 mL of 6M HCl. Two samples of the BaCl2.2H2O weighing 1.51g each were placed
into separate 250 mL beakers and dissolved using 100 mL of DI water. 95 mL of each of the
BaCl2.2H2O solutions were added to the earlier mentioned 400 mL beakers containing the unknown
#8 solutions, leaving roughly 5 mL to later test completeness of precipitation of the sulfate ion. The
newly added mixtures were heated for 3 minutes and then were allowed to cool and settle for 10
minutes. The remaining 5 mL of BaCl2.2H2O solution was added to their respective unknown
solutions to ensure precipitation completeness of sulfate ions. Upon completeness, the two solutions
were heated for 90 minutes at near boiling temperatures. After the 90 minutes, the solutions were
removed from the heat, cooled, covered with parafilm and stored until the following week.
Procedure (III): Precipitations of Funnel and Filter Paper for Filtration This procedure is performed
for the purpose of separating and filtering the desired barium sulfate so to later determine the
quantity of sulfate within unknown #8. The two solutions prepared and digested previously were
reheated to near boiling temperatures. During the reheating process, 2

is achieved as a combination key as a result the proposed scheme in large part reduces the key era
overhead.
CONCLUSION
Thinking about the practical trouble of privacy retaining records sharing system primarily based on
public cloud storage which calls for a statistics proprietor to distribute a big wide variety of keys to
users to permit them to access his/her files, we for the first time endorse the idea of key–mixture
searchable encryption (KASE) and assemble a concrete KASE scheme. Both analysis and
evaluation results verify that our work can provide an powerful solution to building practical records
sharing system based totally on public cloud garage. FUTURE WORK
In a KASE scheme, the proprietor simply needs to distribute a single key to a person whilst sharing
lots of files with the user, and the user only desires to post a single trapdoor while he queries over all
files shared by the same owner. However, if a person desires to query over documents shared by
way of a couple of proprietors, he need to generate

Profit and Loss Statement Paper
Before beginning, it should be noted that although this project is to be for a Profit and Loss (P&L)
Statement, only an Income Statement is available at the Kudler Fine Foods website (Apollo Group,
2011). However, Income Statements and P&L Statements are, for all intents and purposes, the same
thing.
With that said, it cannot be determined conclusively by reading the Income Statement for Kudler
Fine Foods if the report is monthly, quarterly or yearly–or if the reports are constructed on a
different fiscal schedule. The date at the top, however, reads "For the Year Ended December 31,
2003". ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now it is important to account for any other, miscellaneous income, such sales of assets and interest
on money in savings.
For Kudler Fine Foods, this amount is $7,845 (Apollo Group, 2011) and will be added to the income
of the company to reach a final, Net Income of $676,795.00(Apollo Group, 2011).
Conclusion
Kudler Fine Foods, though fictitious, is doing very well for itself–even when compared to a large
supermarket chain like Walmart. When dividing the Net Income of Kudler Fine Foods, $676,795.00,
by the company's Net Sales $10,796,200.00, we get a before–tax profit margin of 6.268%. This
means that Kudler Fine Foods has almost double the pre–tax profit margin than Walmart's post–tax
profit margin of 3.515% (Ycharts, 2012). This means that unless the yearly taxes due for Kudler
Fine Foods is about 50%, they will likely have higher profit margins than Walmart. That is pretty
good for a fictitious company...

Effect Of Pop Size On Popcorn Size
Did the height of the popcorn kernel affect its calorie count?
Which brand of popcorn contains more calories based on the height of the kernel when popped?
The purpose of this experiment was to determine calorie count relative to kernel height.
Furthermore, this information can be used to inform healthy snack choices.
Food is important to our bodies, we need it to survive. The energy in it, known as calories gives us
the energy to go about our daily lives. When we eat food we need there to be a fair amount of
calories in that food. But sometimes we don't want all the calories, so we search for a small snack.
Buttered popcorn would burn faster and yield more calories. Many brands were buttered popcorns
like Orville, Act II, and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once in the lab pop all of the popcorn, then take the five tallest kernels from each brand. (make sure
to have the necessary safety gear at hand)
Measure them, weigh them and record all the data.
Once the top five in each brand are found, keep them seperate so as not to lose them.
Prepare a burning station with a pipette, test tube, a cork with a pin to secure the kernel on, matches
or a lighter. Make sure to have pencil and paper nearby to record data.
Place one kernel from a brand on the pin, place it on gently so it doesn't break.
Record the starting temperature of the water in the test tube.
Then start recording the temperature of the water, light the kernel on fire.
Watch the temperature closely so as to spot the highest temperature.
Find the highest temperature, record it, and weigh the burnt kernel, record that too.
Obtain fresh water and prepare the next kernel.
Repeat this process for all five kernels from each respective brand.
After all the data was collected, calculations were made for the average height, average mass, and
each individual kernels calories. The data shows that popped kernels with an average height that is
over 20 mm have a larger average of calories than the kernels with an average height below 20 mm.
Orville with an average height of 15.8 mm was the control. The average number of calories yielded
by Orville was 264.2 cal/g. Compared to other brands this was a high standard.

Not Only Natalee Is Missing By Anne-Marie O Connor
When Natalee Holloway went missing her face was plastered on every television screen to promote
her being found. Some people wonder why white females make national news more often than any
other female or male for that matter. In the argumentative essay "Not Only Natalee is Missing"
Anne–Marie O'Connor tries to explain how and why people make national news. O'Connor's essay
starts out based on the idea that white females are the only ones that make national news, but her use
of pathos, ethos, and logos, prove this idea to be based upon economic status and race rather than
gender alone.
The author uses pathos to appeal to the audience's sense of open–mindedness about women who
make national news. O'Connor tries to get the reader to realize how being human can cause people
to overlook certain stories and make them seem unimportant. In her essay she states, "We don't pay
as much attention to someone missing from a community we don't know or are not familiar with"
(661). This quotation symbolizes how sometimes people can be overlooked in today's news. The
issue about who makes national news can appeal to more than just a sense of open–mindedness, it
can also appeal to your sense of sympathy. When news reporters get their stories, no one is for sure
how long the story can stay lingering amongst people. Earl Hutchinson, a political analyst, states,
"When you raise the issue people say, "This is a tragedy and we should do more," Hutchinson said.
"But it only lasts a hot minute.

Personal Narrative : The Basketball Game
I was at an AAU game and my team was doing good, we did not let the other team score on us for
the whole tournament ( which was 2 games.) Our team was so good that we won the tournament.
We got to go to an LA Lakers game, and we got front row seats. We were really excited and focused
that they didn't realize that the ball family was sitting right next to them. " Of course!" thought, " It's
a home game in L.A." They were so excited that they all went and ran towards them, but I stopped
them. " We don't want to bug them" I remarked," Let's wait until halftime to meet them." So, we
waited for what felt like hours, but in reality was only minutes until finally it was halftime. The team
stormed over to them while I waited back a little bit. I waited until finally it was my turn. I was
super excited to meet LaVar, and LaMelo. I went up scared and waited for them to talk. Lavar Ball
said," What's up big baller." I was shook, I had nothing to say but I forced out some words,"Hi,
Mr.Ball," that was all I could say I had no more words I was in shock that I was meeting him. " Hey
are you guys the team that won the AAU tournament." Yeah, we won that last week we would enjoy
it if you could come to one of our games." I revealed " Yeah, I would do that." Lavar responded I
was stunned, I mean Lavar Ball the biggest internet sensation was coming to one of my games. I
gave him my number so I could call/text him when my next important game was. I was so excited I
forgot to tell my teammates.

Aileen Wuornos Antisocial And Borderline Personality Killers
Aileen Wuornos was tried, convicted, and executed for the murder of seven men by gunshot
between 1989 and 1990 in Central Florida in 2002 (Myers, W., Gooch, E. and Meloy, J., 2005).
Wuornos also was was psychoanalyzed confirming her Antisocial and Borderline Personality
Disorders. During the course of trial, Wuornos claimed that the victims raped or sexual assulted her,
and that her acts of murder were in self–defense. Before sentenced to execution by legal injection
Wuornos stated: "I killed those men," she wrote, "robbed them as cold as ice. And I'd do it again,
too. There's no chance in keeping me alive or anything, because I'd kill again (Myers, W., Gooch, E.
and Meloy, J., 2005) . Aileen Wuornos exhibited multiple patterns that equate to clinical elements to
meet DSM criteria for Antisocial and Borderline Personality disorders (Mauricio, A. M., Jenn–Yun
Tein, & Lopez, F. G., 2007). By observing the childhood, upbringing, and lived experiences leading
up to Aileen Wuornos's trial, one must also examine the psychological components she faces in
order to better understand how and why she became a criminal and serial killer.
Born February 29th, 1956 as Aileen Pittman, Wuornos' life was a time bomb from the start. From
her father, Dale Pittman, was convicted of being a schizophrenic child molester after raping a

Electronic Medical Record ( Emr )
Health Information Technology (HIT) is continuously evolving and holds high promising standards
when it comes to improving the health care quality in the U.S. and other countries. Health
Information Technology (HIT) can improve in several areas such as: efficiency, cost reduction,
quality and safety care delivery, immediately accessibility of data to clinicians by making
computerized patient records available throughout a health care network (ahrq.gov 2006). To the
point that congress in 2009 put aside billions of dollars from the stimulus package, to create
incentives for meaningful use of Health Information Technology (HIT) to physicians or health
organizations. Nonetheless, despite the bright future and potential benefits of HIT some conflicts
still rise about its complete adaptation and success in the future. Mainly to those particular HITs,
Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Personal Health Records (PHR) and Electronic Health Records
(EHR).
Electronic medical record (EMR) is the renovation of a patient clinical data from paper based into a
computer based. EMRs consist of mainly data gathered by a Primary Physician or one hospital. The
compile information can be as follows: notes, health maintenance information, problem list,
medication list, allergy list, results of laboratory, radiology, and other testing (David W. Bates, Mark
Ebell, Edward Gotlieb, John Zapp, H.C. Mullins. 2003). Electronic medical record (EMR) enhances

Characteristics Of The Horseshoe Crab
Introduction: "Limulus polyphemus, the horseshoe crab, inhabits shallow–brackish marine
environments ranging from the Atlantic Ocean along the North American coastline to the Gulf
coasts of the United states and from the East coast of Mexico to the Yucatan Peninsula" (Walls,
Elizabeth). There are three other species of the horseshoe crab worldwide: Tachypleus tridentatus,
Tachypleus gigas, and Carconoscorpinus rotundicauda that closely resemble Limulus in structure
and habits, ranging from the Indian ocean to the Pacific Ocean along the coasts of Asia (National
Wildlife Federation).
"The horseshoe crab is known to be one of the "oldest living fossils"; which means that this
organism's morphology has essentially not changed from fossils found from earlier geologic times,
around 250 million years ago" (Noel Chartier). Based on the fact that the morphology has not
changed in so long it can be assumed that the horseshoe crab has not had to adapt to changing
environments and has been able to withstand a changing environment. "Due to the statement
regarding the "oldest living fossils," one can hypothesize that fossil records will show evidence that
fossils of extinct creatures look nearly identical to the creatures that are still living today" (Noel
Chartier).
If a person searched for horseshoe crabs in a shallow–brackish marine environment and found a
living horseshoe crab and compared it to a fossil record of one, they would look almost identical to
each other. The outward

Visual Argument Analysis
Today, it is without a doubt that public communication is at the heart of our economy, our politics
and our society. It is being used in different aspects of society – studios use it to advertise their
films. Advocates use it to encourage social causes. The businessmen use it to furnish their image.
Politicians use it, for them to get elected. It is a field constructed on various ideas and images, many
information and persuasion, tactics and strategy. There is no product or policy that will ever succeed
without a clever message that targets the right audience or people in innovative and creative ways.

Visual arguments can be very useful in terms of passing a message along to the public. Common
examples of an advertisement would be seen on TV ads, possibly a poster, billboard, and
commercials. An ad that caught my eye is a powerful image portraying verbal abuse. It shows a man
screaming at a woman with a fist coming out of the man's mouth and punching the woman in the
face. It basically relays the message of how verbal abuse is just as bad or hurtful as physical
violence and abuse. This ad also attempts to target the emotion of the viewers. Her facial expression
is key in this ad. There are no textual elements but the picture is strong enough to the point that texts
is no longer needed. The ad does not put us in the situation but it shows us how verbal abuse can be
extremely hurtful. Collingwood argues that other sentient beings are able to engage with art and get
a sense of the 'total imaginative experience' that prompted it. Collingwood mentions that "There is a
particular process of recognition that happens which, if the art has succeeded in communicating on
more than a purely idiosyncratic level, leads to enhanced self–knowledge, and by extension an
enhanced collective self–knowledge. Given the fundamental formulation of the artistic process, and
especially given the unavoidable loss of intensity of feeling even for the artist, then clearly the
engagement of the fellow sentient being is not one of the equivalence with that of the artist, but an
imaginative engagement based on the stimulus to hand, be it poem, sound of tactile art." (Swale.

I Am A Safe Haven At Your Hands
Imagine having a safe haven at your hands, any time of the day. It is 2013, and I am in seventh
grade. I am scrolling through Twitter in my dark room when I come across a page called Buddy
Project, and decide to read into it. As I am reading, with the light from my phone illuminating my
face, I find out that it 's a nonprofit organization that pairs you with a person. It is meant to help you
deal with an eating disorder, self harm, suicidal thoughts, and mental illnesses. I am seeing all of this
information and I know I need to join the project. It was that one day in November that changed my
life forever.
I remember my heart racing when I was paired with my first buddy. I found out that her name was
Abby; she was dealing with an eating disorder and suspected she was depressed. We both hadn 't
gotten help at this point, so it wasn 't truly beneficial. Pain and darkness were consuming our lives,
but speaking up didn 't seem like an option. The next year, 2014, I met two new people. Their names
were Danielle and Jay. Again, mutual effort was being made, but nobody got the help they needed
yet. I saw blood–curdling messages, but I knew it was my job to help as best as I could. I felt like I
was drowning and gasping for air, but my main priority was the other people. Even though there was
a disclaimer that says not to use the project as a replacement for getting help, that is what so many
people did. Trying to help someone who wouldn't get professional help is the type of thing

Are Electronic Medical Records a Cure for Health Care? Essays
Case Summary Healthcare is a major topic in the media, and how it affecting people all over the
country. The government has implemented laws and policies to ensure that individuals can receive
the proper medical attention, and has made healthcare affordable for American that are not able to
pay out of pocket for services provided. This action by the government has caused a surplus in
patients seen by healthcare providers, which in return has increase the paperwork associated with
business practices. As a result, providers are implementing systems such as Electronic Medical
Records to ensure that patient records are accurate and accessible for multiple providers for proper
diagnosis. Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems are systems ... Show more content on

Healthcare management, insurance agencies, the government and technology advances have all
played a major role in the delay of the creation of a global EMR system. The Government's
involvement in the implementation of EMR system is critical. In 2009, $19 billion was granted
through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to encourage doctors and hospitals to
install and use electronic health records (EHR's) which is a fundamental component of EMR
systems (MacKinnon & Wasserman, 2009). Without government funding, it would be merely
impossible for organizations to implement and adopt ERM systems. Expensive systems are usually
frowned upon by organizations, for that reason the government must intervene to ensure improved
speed and accuracy of data sharing, reporting, and planning. Healthcare providers are becoming
overbooked and the paperwork is overwhelming. Adopting technology is necessary in the healthcare
profession to handle daily workloads. The cost of implementing systems to fit the needs of the
organization is the leading factor that causes providers to resist the integration and incorporation of
EMR systems. IT developers are also high involved in the implementation of systems for hospitals
and healthcare providers. Investing in the EMR system is costly, but the failure to implement EMR
systems is often contributed to

driver again about her name and DOB, she gave a DOB of 12/14/1987, which also came back no
record. I observed while speeching with the driver, she was stumbling and using the vehicle to
steady herself. While speeching with the driver, I observed a MS ID card on the driver floor board of
the vehicle, after looking at the picture, I noticed it was the driver's ID card. The name on it was
Tierra Tunstall, DOB 12/14/1983, I ran it through dispatch and determined the driver did not have a
valid driver's license. Tunstall then volunteered to provide a breath sample on a portable breath
tester, the breath sample yielded positive for intoxicants. Also while speaking with Tunstall, she
stated she did not have valid insurance, and the tag not did belong on her vehicle. Tunstall was taken
into custody and placed in the back seat of my patrol

Microwaves Use High Powered Radio Waves And The Water...
Microwaves use high powered radio waves generated by a vacuum tube (also known as a
magnetron) to heat up the drink and foodstuff placed within them. The high powered radio waves
are channelled into the food compartment through a waveguide, and they heat up the food by
interacting with the water molecules in the foodstuff. The greatest interaction between the high
powered radio waves and the water molecules occur at the greatest amplitude of the waves, at points
on the wave where the amplitude is equal to zero, there will be no interaction between the high
powered radio waves and the water molecules, so this point is a cold spot within the microwave.
The electromagnetic waves coming from the vacuum tube change direction almost 2.5 billion ...

In order to calculate the total energy input from the microwave to the water, we use this equation:
Q = mc ΔT
Then we divide our answers by the amount of seconds the water was left in the microwave for.
When we know the rate of energy input into the water we can then work out the total energy
efficiency by dividing the energy transferred into the water by the total amount of energy the
microwave draws from the socket. The energy input from the socket to the microwave used, is 1000
watts
Q = the heat energy transferred – in Joules (J) m = the mass of water used, (1 ml of water = 1 g of
water) – in grams (g) c = the specific heat capacity of water (this is 4181 J / Kg oC)
ΔT = change in the temperature of the water

Summary: The Disappearance Of Natalee Holloway
The disappearance of Natalee Holloway, an 18–year–old graduate of Mountain Brook High School
in Birmingham, Alabama left many unanswered questions. On May 26, 2005, Holloway and 124
fellow graduates traveled to Aruba for a five–day, unofficial graduation trip. The graduates were
accompanied by seven chaperones. Bob Plummer, who was a chaperone on the trip stated the
chaperones met with the students each day to ensure nothing was wrong. Jodi Bearman, who
organized the trip, stated, "The chaperones were not supposed to keep up with their every move."
Police Commissioner Gerold Dompig, who lead the investigation from mid–2005 until 2006,
described the behavior of the students, as excessive drinking, a lot of partying, and room exchanges
were done every night. The Holiday Inn told them they weren't welcome next year. Statements were
made that Holloway drank all day, every day. She started every morning with cocktails and drank to

The story caused tremendous media attention. Searches for Holloway began immediately afterward.
Hundreds of volunteers from Aruba and the United States joined the search. Fifty Dutch marines
conducted an extensive search of the shoreline. Aruban banks raised $20,000 and provided other
support to aid volunteer search teams. Reports indicate Holloway did not appear on any security
camera footage from her hotel's lobby during the course of the night; however, Beth Twitty made
varying statements as to whether the cameras were actually working that night. According to Police
Commissioner Jan van der Straten, the initial head of the investigation until his 2005 retirement,
Holloway did not have to go through the lobby to return to her room. The search for physical
evidence was extensive and, on occasion, subject to false leads. A possible blood sample was taken
from Deepak Kalpoe's car for analysis but determined not to be blood (Disappearance of Natalee

The Effect Of Friction On The Coefficient Of Friction
Introduction:
When two objects get in contact with each other the force between them forms. Scientists call this
force the frictional resistance, or friction. It occurs because of the imperfections in the surfaces of
objects, the molecules of both surfaces interfere with each other creating a natural force between
two objects. The friction opposes direction of motion of the object and is parallel to the surface on
which the action takes place. The force and magnitude that are necessary to overcome friction can
be calculated. Area of objects that is involved in the contact is disregarded when calculating friction.
Objectives:
 Use two methods to find the coefficient of friction.
 Identify factors that have influence on the coefficient ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The benefit that machine provides is called a mechanical advantage. Its amount is defined by actual
mechanical advantage (AMA, includes force of friction). There is also an ideal mechanical
advantage (IMA) but it does not take in account the force of friction which is inevitable in our
world.
Workinput=Workoutput+Workfriction
AMA=Resistance/Effort=Fr/¬Fe
Where Fr is resistance and Fe is effort.
A person gains mechanical advantage from using the machine if the effort he has to exert is less than
resistance.
IMA=Effort Distance/Resistance Distance = De/Dr
Efficiency of the machine is determined by the following formula: Eff=AMA/IMA*100
Experimental Procedure:

Descriptive Essay About Basketball
Swish
It was my final high school game at Chino Hills with my best friend Lonzo Ball. It was the State
Championship against Mater Dei. College scouts were scattered over the whole stadium! I want to
impress the UCLA scout because Lonzo had committed there and i want to play basketball with my
best friend. If i could get scholarship to UCLA it would be amazing. "Chardee this your time to
shine let's get out there and do what we do best." Lonzo told me. "You're right, you better make me
look good out there with all of the NCAA scouts watching all of us." I said jokingly to him. Tip off
neared and then Lonzo, I, and the rest of the team got on the court to play Mater Dei. It started off
close but i catched fire and i was splashing all of my three pointers. At the end of the first quarter i
had 17 points. I had five three pointers and one monster dunk over Bol Bol (Bol bol is a 7'1 high
schooler). The game was going really well for me and i hoped i could get some more points to
impress the scouts. "Welcome back ladies and gentlemen. The player to watch in this game is
Chardee Macdennis, he is on fire, 29 points in the first half, Chardee is 7–9 for behind the arch. The
college scouts are watching him for sure" In the locker room, everyone was giving props to me for
doing so good. Suddenly coach Joey came up to me. "Chardee i heard a UCLA scouts talking, they
said if you do good in the 2nd half they are going to offer you a scholarship!" "Thank you for the
heads up, ill my hardest in the 2nd half" i responded The team then proceeded out of the locker
room for the 2nd half.
The game had started up again and i was playing good. We were destroying them 68–39. I had 36
points at that point. Towards the end of the game i saw the UCLA scouts walking down to the court.
At the end of the game Mater dei got embarrassed and we beat them 102–61. I had 51 points at the
end of the game. That game was the best i have ever played compared to my other career high i had
in any other games. A man with a UCLA hat came up to me.
"Hey chardee, that performance was one of the best i have ever seen, the UCLA bruins see a lot of
potential in you and hope that you will accept a scholarship that we are going to offer you.¨

The mass difference of the initial and final mass of the Formation of a precipitate is 3/4g. The
conclusion that I made was that the Law of Conservation of Mass doesn't apply when you're trying
to create a precipitate because the solution changes from a liquid to a solid.
The mass difference initial and final mass of the Formation of a gas was 0g. The conclusion that I
made was that the law of conservation of mass applies when trying to create a gas. 4. The burning of
wood and the rusting of iron violates the law of conservation of mass because the result of both is a
chemical and physical change. When the substances react their mass shrinks because they're
changing into a new state.
Conclusion:
During the Law of Conservation of mass Lab I mixed various solutions and observed their chemical
and physical change. The chemical change that occurs is the result of a new substance in all three
experiments the Acid base Neutralization, Formation of a precipitate and the Formation of a gas.
During the lad I learned that when you mix white vinegar with sodium hydroxide the result is a dark
pink substance, when lead acetate and potassium iodide it forms a precipitate and water with alka
seltzer results in the evaporation of the substance. While doing this lab I was surprised that the
precipitate would be powdery and yellow because I thought that it would still be a liquid not
powdery.

George W Bush 9/11 Research Paper
With the approach of the year 2000, the Contested Presidential
Election Between George W. Bush and Al Gore took place, with George W.
Bush taking over the presidency. In 2003, following the attacks of

going on today (with our presence in the Middle East). As president, president Bush plowed through
a $1.3 trillion tax cut program, passed the No Child Left Behind Act, and also pushed for socially
conservative efforts, such as the
Partial–Birth Abortion Ban Act and faith–based welfare initiatives.

After a bruising round of primary elections, the embattled Democrats chose Massachusetts senator
John Kerry to represent their ticket.
Kerry pushed progressive visions of government and counted on his
Vietnam War record to counter charges that he would be weak in the face of terrorism. But that plan
backfired as Kerry fell under attack for his very public opposition to Vietnam once he had returned
from battle in the early 1970s. In spite of increased public misgivings about the war in Iraq, Bush
nailed down a decisive victory in November
2004. He received the first popular vote majority by a presidential candidate in more than a decade–
60,639,281 to 57,355,978–and won the
Electoral College, 286 to 252, if by only one state (this time Ohio).
This time his victory was clear, constitutional, and uncontested.

an aggressive domestic agenda. The appointment of two new conservative Supreme Court justices

Being Greeted with Death's Sting

Either way, the hearts of the loved ones left behind are broken with despair. I have sent flowers and
consoled love ones. But, I didn't fully understand death's sting until took my beloved Mother and
Friend from my family. She was the glue that held me and my siblings together throughout our adult
years. It was our ritual to speak before I started and ended my day. My Mother encouraged me to
continue on through my storms. During my deployments, I could count on her prayers. My Mother
knew what words to speak to soothe me and she could build me up with her understanding. I loved
that she never took sides when my siblings and I would have disagreements. She would remind us
the importance of family ties. As a child, I could remember coming home broken because I felt like
an outcast. The children were cruel to me. I was the kid in the home made dress or the plaid pants
with the penny loafers. You see, my Mother was a single parent raising five children. We lived in
low income housing and she worked several jobs to provide the essentials. In our home there were
no name brand clothing and hand–me– downs were the normality. She kept us feed, clean and a roof
over our heads. My Mother loved us all equally and made us feel as if we lived above poverty. We
would always have family night on Saturday. We would dance, laugh and watch movies. It was a

Based on the data from Activities 1 and 2, which is likely the best speed and cesium chloride

exponentially as rpms increase 15000 rpm because it allows for the most separation throughout the

would further down At 15000 rpm each substance would be separated from each other in the order
of (top to bottom) organic matter, clay, silt, sand, and finally gravel at the bottom The cesium
chloride made the fluid thicker to increase drag 2.5 grams/liter because it formed the most separate
layers to work with .5g/L – Organic matter on top the rest on the bottom 2.5g/L organic matter the
first 2 layers then clay, silt, sand, and gravel respectively. With a higher cesium chloride levels
comes higher drag. With higher drag the materials dont get to spread out as much which causes

Separation Of Mixtures Lab Report
Introduction
Most of the materials that we use every day are mixtures. Learning about separating mixtures are
important since it allows us to separate unpolluted substances. A mixture can be one of two, either
homogeneous or heterogeneous. Homogeneous mixtures are usually uniform while heterogeneous
mixtures aren't. An example of a homogeneous mixture would be salt water because when fully
dissolved, the appearance is uniform. An example of a heterogeneous mixture would be oil and
water. Both oil and water can be noticed visibly and can be separated from one another. In order for
one to separate a mixture, there are different methods that need to be thought out. Mixtures can be
separated by using a filtration and or an evaporation method. Filtration ... Show more content on

The objective of this lab in its entirety was to understand different methods that are used when
dealing with the separation of mixtures. There are different techniques such as decantation,
sublimation, evaporation, and filtration. Mixtures are a part of everyday life and it is important to
know whether or not a mixture is heterogeneous or homogeneous. In this experiment, we were able
to separate the mixture into sand and into salt through filtration and evaporation. The sand was
separated from the mixture through filtration. The salt was separated through evaporation because
salt has a higher boiling point than water does. When separating the sand from the rest of the
mixture, we were able to filter the salt and water through the filter paper because the filter will only
allow liquid to flow through and this will prevent the sand from draining. The salt was able to
separate because of the evaporation method. The solvent which is the distilled water evaporates,
while the solid particles (salt) are left

CHM 23000–23
Introduction
Matter is described as any object that holds mass and volume. Mass is the amount of matter in an
object that is usually explained in the unit of kilograms. Volume is defined as the amount of space
that matter takes up usually described by the unit liters. While mass and volume relate to matter, it
also relates to density. Density is the amount of mass per unit volume. Common units for density
include grams per milliliter for liquids, grams per centimeter for solids, and grams per liter for
gases.
The purpose of this lab is to explore the ways of calculating density through ... Show more content

Volume for the Known Rock: 9.5 cm * 1.9 cm * 4.625 cm = 83.48125 cm cubed
Volume for the Unknown Rock: 4.85 cm * 1.925 cm * 4.85 cm = 45.2808 cm cubed
Density can be calculated by dividing the mass by the volume.
Density (mass/ volume) of the Known Rock: 216.175 g / 83.48125 cm cubed = 2.59 grams per
centimeters cubed
Density (mass/ volume) of the Unknown Rock: 114.59 g/ 45.2808 cm cubed=
2.53 grams per centimeter cubed
Results
Each member of the group reported similar measurements. Most of the numbers featured were
similar. The calculation of density used by the measured mass, length, width, and height by the
students, was relatively close to the real density of the known rock. The results were both accurate
and precise.

The volume of the Jelly Marbles that sat in the water have a volume of 1.02 milliliters. Trial 1 for
the Jelly Marbles in the food coloring had a volume of 1.03 milliliters and trial 2 had a volume of
1.12 milliliters. The volumes for trial 1, 0.17 milliliters, and for trial 2, 0.03 milliliters, has a big
difference. The density for the Jelly Marbles that soaked in water was approximately 1.4 milliliters.
Trail 1 for the Jelly Marbles soaked in food coloring also had a density of 1.4 milliliters but, trial 2

Essay about Architecture and Insecurity
Architecture and Insecurity An Analysis of Architecture as Metapho in WG Sebald's Austerlitz
Deyan Sudjic, journalist for the New York Times, writes in his discussion of the potential Freedom
Tower meant to replace the cavernous holes that mark where the twin towers once stood:
Clearly, there is a psychological parallel between making a mark on the landscape and the exercise
of political power...both depend on the imposition of will...and among the dictatorial...there is an
inherent appeal in seeing one's worldview confirmed by reducing entire cities to the scale of a doll's
house (par. 6).
Symbolism and architecture often go hand in hand. Like almost every work of art, critics and
audiences attempt to read something deeper, to find ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In actuality, as revealed through viewpoint of the character Austerlitz, the 19th century encapsulated
"the architectural style of the capitalist era...the compulsive sense of order and the tendency towards
monumentalism evident in law courts and penal institutions, railway stations and stock exchanges,
opera houses and lunatic asylums, and the dwelling build to rectangular grid patterns for the labor
force" (33). The Palace of Justice in Brussels presents a perfect example of Imperialist Architecture.
Built in the 1880s at the insistence of Brussels bourgeoisie, the Palace of Justice is the "largest
accumulation of stone blocks anywhere in Europe" (29). Complete with hallways that lead nowhere,
staircases that fall apart at the touch, and rooms that cannot be entered (quite literally, there are no
doors–rooms without entry points are on blueprints and are simply walled–off during construction),
the Palace symbolically represents the complicated nonsense of the imperial Europe. At a time when
the major powers of Europe were competing with one another for colonies, raw materials for their
newly industrialized factories, and subjects from which to collect taxes, buildings like the Palace of
Justice sprung up everywhere in an attempt to impress and terrify. Rosalyn Deutsche notes that
"architecture that adheres

dose he. Alright Luka roll over back onto your stomach" My aunt says. Like last time he doesn't
hesitate to roll to roll back unto his stomach. She first starts on his right foot. Flexing it checking the
range of motion, everything's fine and dandy, and then it happens. She's flexing his left foot, she
barely even moves it an inch. Luka yelps sharply, stands up, and quickly jumps of the tray. All of

Dinosaur Extinction Essay

  • 1. Dinosaur Extinction Essay BIOL2110– Vertebrate Zoology Word count: 1056 Dinosaur extinction: An analysis of events and theories that possibly led to the dinosaurs' demise. Ever since the history of Earth has been studied using fossil records, extinctions have always been the object of fascination and interest, particularly the mass extinctions that occurred throughout Earth's history. A mass extinction can be caused by disruptive global environmental changes, where large numbers of species have become extinct (Urry et al. 2008). There have been five major extinctions documented based on fossil records over the past 500 million years, but the Cretaceous (KT boundary extinction – a name that meant it began the Tertiary era) extinction caught a lot of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to the research made by Alvarez (1980), it was due to an asteroid impact that single– handedly destroyed dinosaurs to extinction. Advocacy of this mechanism has been aided by the availability and tangibility of supporting evidence in the form of impact craters– the Chicxulub crater in the Yucatan Peninsula's date and timing of impact (dating produced an almost exact date of 65 million years ago), location, enormous size–170 km (Hildebrand et al.1991) and its high iridium content ( a metal not commonly found at the Earth's surface) make it seem that with a theoretical asteroid 10 km big caused the crater great damage at the end of the Cretaceous (Alvarez et al. 1980). How exactly the asteroid damaged the Earth remains unclear, but the power released by such an impact is unquestionable. Effects possibly include reduced sunlight over a period of several months which possibly led to the decline or even total halt of primary production (via photosynthesis). One of the dominant signatures of the extinction at the KT boundary was the low activity of primary production, the possibility of reduced sunlight is high (Schulte et al. 2010) . Even if the primary production proved to be on a decline when this impact occurred, there is still some uncertainties as to where exactly the impact hit. This was why asymmetries in subsurface features of the Chicxulub crater were observed via geophysical methods were analyzed and it was calculated from estimates that the ... • 11. Gravimetric Analysis of a Soluble Sulfate Abstract Gravimetric analysis describes the methods for finding the chemical constituent of analyte in a solution through analytical chemistry. This method uses the mass of solid SO42–, with an unknown quantity and quality, to qualitatively determine the makeup of the solid SO3–. Two separate experiments with the initial compounds of BaCl2 and SO42– were put into solution to allow for the BaSO4 precipitate to form. Through filtration and ignition of precipitate containing ashless papers, the solid masses of BaSO4 were attained. With a gravimetric factor of 1:1, sample 1 resulted in the formation of 0.5874g BaSO4 from 0.4004g of SO42–, while sample 2 resulted in the formation of 0.4073g BaSO4 from 0.3985g of SO42–. CONCLUSION Thinking about the practical trouble of privacy retaining records sharing system primarily based on public cloud storage which calls for a statistics proprietor to distribute a big wide variety of keys to users to permit them to access his/her files, we for the first time endorse the idea of key–mixture searchable encryption (KASE) and assemble a concrete KASE scheme. Both analysis and evaluation results verify that our work can provide an powerful solution to building practical records sharing system based totally on public cloud garage. • 20. Profit and Loss Statement Paper Justin Fondriest Professor Timothy Groves BSA/310 October 21, 2012 Profit and Loss Statement Paper Before beginning, it should be noted that although this project is to be for a Profit and Loss (P&L) Statement, only an Income Statement is available at the Kudler Fine Foods website (Apollo Group, 2011). However, Income Statements and P&L Statements are, for all intents and purposes, the same thing. With that said, it cannot be determined conclusively by reading the Income Statement for Kudler Fine Foods if the report is monthly, quarterly or yearly–or if the reports are constructed on a different fiscal schedule. The date at the top, however, reads "For the Year Ended December 31, 2003". ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now it is important to account for any other, miscellaneous income, such sales of assets and interest on money in savings. For Kudler Fine Foods, this amount is $7,845 (Apollo Group, 2011) and will be added to the income of the company to reach a final, Net Income of $676,795.00(Apollo Group, 2011). Conclusion Kudler Fine Foods, though fictitious, is doing very well for itself–even when compared to a large supermarket chain like Walmart. When dividing the Net Income of Kudler Fine Foods, $676,795.00, by the company's Net Sales $10,796,200.00, we get a before–tax profit margin of 6.268%. This means that Kudler Fine Foods has almost double the pre–tax profit margin than Walmart's post–tax profit margin of 3.515% (Ycharts, 2012). This means that unless the yearly taxes due for Kudler Fine Foods is about 50%, they will likely have higher profit margins than Walmart. That is pretty good for a fictitious company... • 25. Effect Of Pop Size On Popcorn Size Did the height of the popcorn kernel affect its calorie count? Which brand of popcorn contains more calories based on the height of the kernel when popped? The purpose of this experiment was to determine calorie count relative to kernel height. Furthermore, this information can be used to inform healthy snack choices. Food is important to our bodies, we need it to survive. The energy in it, known as calories gives us the energy to go about our daily lives. When we eat food we need there to be a fair amount of calories in that food. But sometimes we don't want all the calories, so we search for a small snack. Buttered popcorn would burn faster and yield more calories. Many brands were buttered popcorns like Orville, Act II, and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once in the lab pop all of the popcorn, then take the five tallest kernels from each brand. (make sure to have the necessary safety gear at hand) Measure them, weigh them and record all the data. Once the top five in each brand are found, keep them seperate so as not to lose them. Prepare a burning station with a pipette, test tube, a cork with a pin to secure the kernel on, matches or a lighter. After all the data was collected, calculations were made for the average height, average mass, and each individual kernels calories. The data shows that popped kernels with an average height that is over 20 mm have a larger average of calories than the kernels with an average height below 20 mm. Orville with an average height of 15.8 mm was the control. The average number of calories yielded by Orville was 264.2 cal/g. Compared to other brands this was a high standard. ... Some people wonder why white females make national news more often than any other female or male for that matter. In the argumentative essay "Not Only Natalee is Missing" Anne–Marie O'Connor tries to explain how and why people make national news. O'Connor's essay starts out based on the idea that white females are the only ones that make national news, but her use of pathos, ethos, and logos, prove this idea to be based upon economic status and race rather than gender alone. The author uses pathos to appeal to the audience's sense of open–mindedness about women who make national news. O'Connor tries to get the reader to realize how being human can cause people to overlook certain stories and make them seem unimportant. In her essay she states, "We don't pay as much attention to someone missing from a community we don't know or are not familiar with" (661). This quotation symbolizes how sometimes people can be overlooked in today's news. The issue about who makes national news can appeal to more than just a sense of open–mindedness, it can also appeal to your sense of sympathy. When news reporters get their stories, no one is for sure how long the story can stay lingering amongst people. Earl Hutchinson, a political analyst, states, "When you raise the issue people say, "This is a tragedy and we should do more," Hutchinson said. "But it only lasts a hot minute. ... Our team was so good that we won the tournament. We got to go to an LA Lakers game, and we got front row seats. We were really excited and focused that they didn't realize that the ball family was sitting right next to them. " Of course!" thought, " It's a home game in L.A." They were so excited that they all went and ran towards them, but I stopped them. " We don't want to bug them" I remarked," Let's wait until halftime to meet them." So, we waited for what felt like hours, but in reality was only minutes until finally it was halftime. The team stormed over to them while I waited back a little bit. I waited until finally it was my turn. I was super excited to meet LaVar, and LaMelo. I went up scared and waited for them to talk. Lavar Ball said," What's up big baller." I was shook, I had nothing to say but I forced out some words,"Hi, Mr.Ball," that was all I could say I had no more words I was in shock that I was meeting him. " Hey are you guys the team that won the AAU tournament." Yeah, we won that last week we would enjoy it if you could come to one of our games." I revealed " Yeah, I would do that." Electronic Medical Record ( Emr ) Health Information Technology (HIT) is continuously evolving and holds high promising standards when it comes to improving the health care quality in the U.S. and other countries. Health Information Technology (HIT) can improve in several areas such as: efficiency, cost reduction, quality and safety care delivery, immediately accessibility of data to clinicians by making computerized patient records available throughout a health care network (ahrq.gov 2006). To the point that congress in 2009 put aside billions of dollars from the stimulus package, to create incentives for meaningful use of Health Information Technology (HIT) to physicians or health organizations. Nonetheless, despite the bright future and potential benefits of HIT some conflicts still rise about its complete adaptation and success in the future. Mainly to those particular HITs, Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Personal Health Records (PHR) and Electronic Health Records (EHR). Electronic medical record (EMR) is the renovation of a patient clinical data from paper based into a computer based. EMRs consist of mainly data gathered by a Primary Physician or one hospital. The compile information can be as follows: notes, health maintenance information, problem list, medication list, allergy list, results of laboratory, radiology, and other testing (David W. Characteristics Of The Horseshoe Crab Introduction: "Limulus polyphemus, the horseshoe crab, inhabits shallow–brackish marine environments ranging from the Atlantic Ocean along the North American coastline to the Gulf coasts of the United states and from the East coast of Mexico to the Yucatan Peninsula" (Walls, Elizabeth). There are three other species of the horseshoe crab worldwide: Tachypleus tridentatus, Tachypleus gigas, and Carconoscorpinus rotundicauda that closely resemble Limulus in structure and habits, ranging from the Indian ocean to the Pacific Ocean along the coasts of Asia (National Wildlife Federation). "The horseshoe crab is known to be one of the "oldest living fossils"; which means that this organism's morphology has essentially not changed from fossils found from earlier geologic times, around 250 million years ago" (Noel Chartier). Based on the fact that the morphology has not changed in so long it can be assumed that the horseshoe crab has not had to adapt to changing environments and has been able to withstand a changing environment. "Due to the statement regarding the "oldest living fossils," one can hypothesize that fossil records will show evidence that fossils of extinct creatures look nearly identical to the creatures that are still living today" (Noel Chartier). If a person searched for horseshoe crabs in a shallow–brackish marine environment and found a living horseshoe crab and compared it to a fossil record of one, they would look almost identical to each other. An ad that caught my eye is a powerful image portraying verbal abuse. It shows a man screaming at a woman with a fist coming out of the man's mouth and punching the woman in the face. It basically relays the message of how verbal abuse is just as bad or hurtful as physical violence and abuse. This ad also attempts to target the emotion of the viewers. Her facial expression is key in this ad. There are no textual elements but the picture is strong enough to the point that texts is no longer needed. Collingwood mentions that "There is a particular process of recognition that happens which, if the art has succeeded in communicating on more than a purely idiosyncratic level, leads to enhanced self–knowledge, and by extension an enhanced collective self–knowledge. Given the fundamental formulation of the artistic process, and especially given the unavoidable loss of intensity of feeling even for the artist, then clearly the engagement of the fellow sentient being is not one of the equivalence with that of the artist, but an imaginative engagement based on the stimulus to hand, be it poem, sound of tactile art." It is meant to help you deal with an eating disorder, self harm, suicidal thoughts, and mental illnesses. I am seeing all of this information and I know I need to join the project. The government has implemented laws and policies to ensure that individuals can receive the proper medical attention, and has made healthcare affordable for American that are not able to pay out of pocket for services provided. This action by the government has caused a surplus in patients seen by healthcare providers, which in return has increase the paperwork associated with business practices. Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems are systems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Healthcare management, insurance agencies, the government and technology advances have all played a major role in the delay of the creation of a global EMR system. The Government's involvement in the implementation of EMR system is critical. In 2009, $19 billion was granted through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to encourage doctors and hospitals to install and use electronic health records (EHR's) which is a fundamental component of EMR systems (MacKinnon & Wasserman, 2009). Without government funding, it would be merely impossible for organizations to implement and adopt ERM systems. Expensive systems are usually frowned upon by organizations, for that reason the government must intervene to ensure improved speed and accuracy of data sharing, reporting, and planning. Healthcare providers are becoming overbooked and the paperwork is overwhelming. Adopting technology is necessary in the healthcare profession to handle daily workloads. The cost of implementing systems to fit the needs of the organization is the leading factor that causes providers to resist the integration and incorporation of EMR systems. • 83. The Effect Of Friction On The Coefficient Of Friction Introduction: When two objects get in contact with each other the force between them forms. Scientists call this force the frictional resistance, or friction. It occurs because of the imperfections in the surfaces of objects, the molecules of both surfaces interfere with each other creating a natural force between two objects. The friction opposes direction of motion of the object and is parallel to the surface on which the action takes place. The force and magnitude that are necessary to overcome friction can be calculated. Area of objects that is involved in the contact is disregarded when calculating friction. Objectives:  Use two methods to find the coefficient of friction.  Identify factors that have influence on the coefficient ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The benefit that machine provides is called a mechanical advantage. Its amount is defined by actual mechanical advantage (AMA, includes force of friction). There is also an ideal mechanical advantage (IMA) but it does not take in account the force of friction which is inevitable in our world. Workinput=Workoutput+Workfriction AMA=Resistance/Effort=Fr/¬Fe Where Fr is resistance and Fe is effort. A person gains mechanical advantage from using the machine if the effort he has to exert is less than resistance. IMA=Effort Distance/Resistance Distance = De/Dr Efficiency of the machine is determined by the following formula: Eff=AMA/IMA*100 Experimental Procedure: Table 1 & 2: First, find the mass of the wooden block and record the data. Then place the wooden block on the inclined plane (at 0o) with the wide side down. The height of the pulley should be the same height as the screw location on the wooden block. Then hang a weight on the opposite side of the hanger and add weights until block starts to move with a constant velocity (push block to overcome fs¬). Then record the resulted weight of the hanger in Table 1 (as F). Add 500 g to the wooden block and repeat the process. Replace 500 g with 1 kg on the wooden block. Repeat the process described above. • 87. Descriptive Essay About Basketball Swish It was my final high school game at Chino Hills with my best friend Lonzo Ball. It was the State Championship against Mater Dei. College scouts were scattered over the whole stadium! I want to impress the UCLA scout because Lonzo had committed there and i want to play basketball with my best friend. If i could get scholarship to UCLA it would be amazing. "Chardee this your time to shine let's get out there and do what we do best." Lonzo told me. "You're right, you better make me look good out there with all of the NCAA scouts watching all of us." I said jokingly to him. Tip off neared and then Lonzo, I, and the rest of the team got on the court to play Mater Dei. It started off close but i catched fire and i was splashing all of my three pointers. At the end of the first quarter i had 17 points. I had five three pointers and one monster dunk over Bol Bol (Bol bol is a 7'1 high schooler). The game was going really well for me and i hoped i could get some more points to impress the scouts. "Welcome back ladies and gentlemen. The player to watch in this game is Chardee Macdennis, he is on fire, 29 points in the first half, Chardee is 7–9 for behind the arch. The college scouts are watching him for sure" In the locker room, everyone was giving props to me for doing so good. Suddenly coach Joey came up to me. "Chardee i heard a UCLA scouts talking, they said if you do good in the 2nd half they are going to offer you a scholarship!" "Thank you for the heads up, ill my hardest in the 2nd half" i responded The team then proceeded out of the locker room for the 2nd half. The game had started up again and i was playing good. We were destroying them 68–39. I had 36 points at that point. Towards the end of the game i saw the UCLA scouts walking down to the court. At the end of the game Mater dei got embarrassed and we beat them 102–61. I had 51 points at the end of the game. That game was the best i have ever played compared to my other career high i had in any other games. A man with a UCLA hat came up to me. "Hey chardee, that performance was one of the best i have ever seen, the UCLA bruins see a lot of potential in you and hope that you will accept a scholarship that we are going to offer you.¨ ... Procedure: Acid Base Neutralization 1. Using 2 modified, beral pipettes fill pipet an about 1/5 full of white vinegar and pipette B about 1/5 full of 1.0 M NaOh (sodium hydroxide). 2. Place the 2 Pipets on the beam balance and read and record the total mass of the 2 pipets. 3. Carefully telescope the stem of pipet A into the stem of pipette B without spilling any liquid. 4. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The mass difference of the initial and final mass of the Formation of a precipitate is 3/4g. The conclusion that I made was that the Law of Conservation of Mass doesn't apply when you're trying to create a precipitate because the solution changes from a liquid to a solid. The mass difference initial and final mass of the Formation of a gas was 0g. The conclusion that I made was that the law of conservation of mass applies when trying to create a gas. 4. The burning of wood and the rusting of iron violates the law of conservation of mass because the result of both is a chemical and physical change. When the substances react their mass shrinks because they're changing into a new state. Conclusion: During the Law of Conservation of mass Lab I mixed various solutions and observed their chemical and physical change. The chemical change that occurs is the result of a new substance in all three experiments the Acid base Neutralization, Formation of a precipitate and the Formation of a gas. During the lad I learned that when you mix white vinegar with sodium hydroxide the result is a dark pink substance, when lead acetate and potassium iodide it forms a precipitate and water with alka seltzer results in the evaporation of the substance. While doing this lab I was surprised that the precipitate would be powdery and yellow because I thought that it would still be a liquid not powdery.

Bush taking over the presidency. In 2003, following the attacks of 9/11, war was declared on Iraq which began the conflict that lasted many years and arguably is still going on today (with our presence in the Middle East). As president, president Bush plowed through a $1.3 trillion tax cut program, passed the No Child Left Behind Act, and also pushed for socially conservative efforts, such as the Partial–Birth Abortion Ban Act and faith–based welfare initiatives. Almost eight million people immigrated to the United States between the year 2000 and 2005; practically half of them entered illegally. During Bush's two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Kerry pushed progressive visions of government and counted on his Vietnam War record to counter charges that he would be weak in the face of terrorism. But that plan backfired as Kerry fell under attack for his very public opposition to Vietnam once he had returned from battle in the early 1970s. In spite of increased public misgivings about the war in Iraq, Bush nailed down a decisive victory in November 2004. He received the first popular vote majority by a presidential candidate in more than a decade– 60,639,281 to 57,355,978–and won the Electoral College, 286 to 252, if by only one state (this time Ohio). This time his victory was clear, constitutional, and uncontested. Reelection, George W. Bush announced, gave him "political capital," which he intended to spend on an aggressive domestic agenda. My Mother knew what words to speak to soothe me and she could build me up with her understanding. I loved that she never took sides when my siblings and I would have disagreements. She would remind us the importance of family ties. As a child, I could remember coming home broken because I felt like an outcast. The children were cruel to me. I was the kid in the home made dress or the plaid pants with the penny loafers. You see, my Mother was a single parent raising five children. We lived in low income housing and she worked several jobs to provide the essentials. In our home there were no name brand clothing and hand–me– downs were the normality. Learning about separating mixtures are important since it allows us to separate unpolluted substances. A mixture can be one of two, either homogeneous or heterogeneous. Homogeneous mixtures are usually uniform while heterogeneous mixtures aren't. An example of a homogeneous mixture would be salt water because when fully dissolved, the appearance is uniform. An example of a heterogeneous mixture would be oil and water. Both oil and water can be noticed visibly and can be separated from one another. In order for one to separate a mixture, there are different methods that need to be thought out. Mixtures can be separated by using a filtration and or an evaporation method. Filtration ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The objective of this lab in its entirety was to understand different methods that are used when dealing with the separation of mixtures. There are different techniques such as decantation, sublimation, evaporation, and filtration. Mixtures are a part of everyday life and it is important to know whether or not a mixture is heterogeneous or homogeneous. In this experiment, we were able to separate the mixture into sand and into salt through filtration and evaporation. The sand was separated from the mixture through filtration. The salt was separated through evaporation because salt has a higher boiling point than water does. When separating the sand from the rest of the mixture, we were able to filter the salt and water through the filter paper because the filter will only allow liquid to flow through and this will prevent the sand from draining. The salt was able to separate because of the evaporation method. The solvent which is the distilled water evaporates, while the solid particles (salt) are left ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay about Architecture and Insecurity Architecture and Insecurity An Analysis of Architecture as Metapho in WG Sebald's Austerlitz Deyan Sudjic, journalist for the New York Times, writes in his discussion of the potential Freedom Tower meant to replace the cavernous holes that mark where the twin towers once stood: Clearly, there is a psychological parallel between making a mark on the landscape and the exercise of political power...both depend on the imposition of will...and among the dictatorial...there is an inherent appeal in seeing one's worldview confirmed by reducing entire cities to the scale of a doll's house (par. 6). Symbolism and architecture often go hand in hand. Like almost every work of art, critics and audiences attempt to read something deeper, to find ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In actuality, as revealed through viewpoint of the character Austerlitz, the 19th century encapsulated "the architectural style of the capitalist era...the compulsive sense of order and the tendency towards monumentalism evident in law courts and penal institutions, railway stations and stock exchanges, opera houses and lunatic asylums, and the dwelling build to rectangular grid patterns for the labor force" (33). The Palace of Justice in Brussels presents a perfect example of Imperialist Architecture. Built in the 1880s at the insistence of Brussels bourgeoisie, the Palace of Justice is the "largest accumulation of stone blocks anywhere in Europe" (29). Complete with hallways that lead nowhere, staircases that fall apart at the touch, and rooms that cannot be entered (quite literally, there are no doors–rooms without entry points are on blueprints and are simply walled–off during construction), the Palace symbolically represents the complicated nonsense of the imperial Europe. At a time when the major powers of Europe were competing with one another for colonies, raw materials for their newly industrialized factories, and subjects from which to collect taxes, buildings like the Palace of Justice sprung up everywhere in an attempt to impress and terrify. Rosalyn Deutsche notes that "architecture that adheres ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

"It's okay, will put you on antibiotics, until your wounds fully heal, okay?" My aunt asks him. Luka just nods his head, I speak up. "He also has a clubbed left foot" I say. "Oh, he dose, dose he. Alright Luka roll over back onto your stomach" My aunt says. Like last time he doesn't hesitate to roll to roll back unto his stomach. She first starts on his right foot. Flexing it checking the range of motion, everything's fine and dandy, and then it happens. She's flexing his left foot, she barely even moves it an inch. Luka yelps sharply, stands up, and quickly jumps of the tray. All of this happened in less ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
