Get an Insight into SETSS Education
SETSS stands in the education world as a Special Education Teacher Support Services.
These services give specially designed instruction to support the student with a disability in
the general educational room. It comes up with a consultation with the well-established
education teacher.
In simple words, it is a program that serves students who have an individualized education
plan (IEP) by the board of education.
SETSS services are planned to use the combined expertise of both the general and
extraordinary teacher. They can be provided within the general education classroom or in an
independent location. The group size may not exceed a maximum of eight students, whether
a well-established education room or a separate one.

Teacher of SETSS gives legally mandated services for students with a disability that are
required to support their progress. Providers must stick to their program, and providers
should not be used in other capacities.
Direct or Indirect services of SETSS
SETSS Special Education services may be direct or a combination of direct and indirect.
The role of students' IEP is to indicate the amount of time that the student will receive. If we
talk about the general education classroom, then the IEP of the student must specify the
general education classes or subject areas in which students will receive such services.
Direct Services:
It is all about giving designed instructions delivered by the extraordinary teacher. They talk
about the areas of deficit, which have been identified for the students, and empowers the
student's cognitive skills. Direct services provide educational needs directly related to the
students' disability. It does not provide additional academic instruction.
Indirect Services:
This kind of service gives collaborative consultation between the special education teacher
and the general education teacher to maintain the atmosphere of learning. It includes
modification and adaptation of instructional techniques and methods to meet the individual
needs.
Highest and Lowest Service Requirements
Three hours a week is minimum, and 50 percent of the school day is maximum in SETSS. If
we talk about three-hours, then it applies even if the student is attending other special
educational programs.
Programs like integrated co-teaching classes or any exceptional kind also matter.
The Purpose of SETSS
 The purpose of SETSS Special Education is to give these students specifically to
achieve the necessary goals outlined in their IEP.
 It gives service to the students daily, either in or out of their general education
classroom.
 It gives a platform to work with the teacher to alter curriculum, instruction,
assignment, and assessment.
 It works as a bridge between the Committee on Special Education (CSE), teachers,
and parents.
 Update IEP through the year based on quarterly progress reports, and observe the
student performance.

The SETSS is a sign of excellence in the education world as it gives mandatory support,
qualified teachers, and comes up with resources and services. This service includes learning,
