2. Background of the song
"Make Me Feel" is a collaborative single, written and conducted
primarily by Galantis and East & Young. It was released on the 11th of
August 2016, through Big Beat Records as the soundtrack to the 2016
netflix film XOXO.
• The song’s genre is Dance-pop, EDM and tropical house.
• With a length of 3 minutes and 28 seconds.
3. Feeling of our video
• For our music video we wanted to create an upbeat feel that
incorporated a party scene due to the song being so fast. We also
wanted to have multiple love stories going on throughout due to
lyrics such as “into your love I feel, when the winter's gone” and “the
way you make me feel there's nothing else this real”. These will be
presented by using still shots of couples while having a moving
background to show how they are just focused on each other. These
shots will be to the beat of the song which are frequently used in
dance videos.
4. Camera work
We want to mix between two cameras whilst filming. Our first being a
normal still camera, and second being more of a hand held first point
of view camera. We want to do this in order to enhance the
excitement of the video and do fast paced cuts.
An example of this technique is used in Demi lovato’s ‘Sorry Not
Sorry’ music video.

5. Location
• We will be using multiple locations throughout the song which convey our
party scene, these include a house, we will also have scenes outside while
it's dark to get shots that include lights. The setting for electronic dance
videos are always in lively places such as clubs so we want to try and
recreate this. Places like the ones we have mentioned also appeal to the
people that would listen to that type of music e.g teenagers and young
adults.
Costume
• We would like our actors to not be dressed extravagantly in some scenes as
we want the feel of the couple getting together to come out of nowhere
and they wouldn’t be dressed for a party all the time. For our party scenes,
we will have everyone dressed up.
6. Themes
• As we have mentioned before, the theme of love will be running
through our video. We will also have a theme of our main character
searching or looking for something in each party scene while he is
enjoying his time. We do not want to make this or the love theme too
prominent as our main focus will be on lighting, camera shots and the
editing side to make it look as jumpy, party and rave like as possible.
• Due to us creating our video like this, we are conforming to the
conventions of a stereotypical electronic dance video.
7. Our approach
We want the audience to watch as they are being brought into the
vibrant imagination of the main character, watching them as they
explore ‘love’ in an upbeat fun EDM video. In order for us to be able
to do this it is essential to know from our target audience who are
particularly teenager’s, there take on this approach and most
importantly what would be your expectations for this type of video?
Thank you.
