1. After much deliberation the final
song we have chosen is...
Corrine Bailey Rae – Put your
Records on
2. The reasons behind choosing this song
• Before choosing any video our group decided to brainstorm
some ideas and themes we would like to incorporate in our
song.
• We were sold on filming the majority of our video outside to
engage with the outdoors and use several base tracks as
opposed to just filming in a house
• Initial ideas that popped to mind were large fields with lots of
overgrown plants with powerful colours
• Floral and retro style clothes
• The idea of having a focal object or point such as a guitar, or
records etc
• Something that went against a typical stereotype
3. We managed to whittle this down to a
potential 3 candidates
• Corrine Bailey Rae – Put your records on
• Ellie Goulding – Your Song
• Katrina and the Waves – Walking on sunshine
• I would say that choosing out of these three proved the
trickiest out of all decisions we have had to make so far.
• Taking audient into consideration was a big thing for us so
we decided that this would be a good opportunity to do so
• The only way we could decide was to do a mini pitch to
Mary (Media Teacher) with all our different ideas for our
music videos and asking some of our peers around college
4. Our final decision
• Was to choose Corrine Bailey Rae’s – Put your
records on
• She was enthused in our initial ideas concepts
and places to film.
• We firmly believed that our music video would
keep to our initial ideas and contrast heavily
with the original as we look to add a quirky
touch to the innocent music video

8. Although our music video will be completely
different to the original we found some similarities
that we could also incorporate in our video
Similarities Differences
One of the main reasons why we chose this There would be more than one scene in our
song is the way women are portrayed in the music video. We feel this would give our
video. The lyrics are inspiring and go against music video more depth and dimension and
Laura Mulveys stereotype of some music test our creativeness and filming abilities.
videos. We would like to incorporate this in
our video
Another thing we would want to incorporate We would switch through scenes frequently
is the out doors theme. This matches the to show a sense of disjuncture whilst still
fresh feeling lyrics and would be most managing to create a motif of autumn

people used to wear in hippy festivals such
