2. A. MASONRY SHOP PRACTICE
Time :- 58 hours

3. B. PLUMBING SHOP PRACTICE
Time :- 12 hours
Task
1 Lay-out a simple CPVC cold water pipe system using following skills:
- Cutting pipes
- Bending pipes
- Joining pipes
- Assembling water pipe fittings
- supporting
2 Fix a water closet and a system with PVC pipe
3 Check alignment of a sewage system between two man-holes.
4 Appreciate basic workshop safety.
5 Lay-out of a simple G.I. cold water pipe system using following skills:
- Cutting pipes
- Bending pipes
- Joining pipes
- Assembling water pipe fittings
- supporting
6 Lay-out of a simple poly-butylenes water pipe system using following skills:
- Cutting pipes
- Bending pipes
- Joining pipes
- Assembling water pipe fittings
- supporting
Note Students should be given a project to achieve the above mentioned tasks within the
allocated time.
4. C. Building Trade Workshop
Time: 62 hours
Tasks :
1. Construction of a foundation with brick footing - 16 hours
2. Construction of an arch - 16 hours
3. Fix wall tiles / floor tiles - 12 hours
4 Bar bending & steel fixing for a R.C.C. column/beam - 10 hours
5. Pre-cast standard lintel - 06 hours
D. Wood Workshop
Time: 18 hours
Tasks :
1. Construction of a cantering for an arch - 05 hours
2. Construction of a framework for a column - 03 hours
3. Construction of a framework for a beam - 03 hours
4 Construction of a framework dead shores for existing wall - 07 hours
Teaching & Learning Strategies
Demonstrations with the instructions to the students to perform the given tasks are the
most appropriate. To achieve the given tasks the OPERTIONAL SHEETS, PRACTICAL SHEETS
& TASK GUIDES are the suitable instructional materials to be used. During the work shop
practice / field work / teacher should guide students to appreciate safety and to maintain
the equipment and instruments used in good condition. Student should maintain a LOG
BOOK In the LOG BOOK student should enter his day to day activities in the workshop.
(Teacher should give the guidance to the student to maintain the Log book correctly)
Assessment Strategies
Assessment should aim at:-
- good format of the presentation of the LOG BOOK
- achievement of the given tasks
- interest to work
- practice of safety & maintenance procedures
No grading should be given. Student should assess to get results
PASS or FAIL.
5. Note Students should be given a project to achieve the above mentioned tasks with in
the allocated time.
