2. Coaching Scenarios #1
Your campus principal asks you to help
cover dismissal duty, since there are so many
teachers out today. You know that after
school is the time that you follow up with
teachers and give feedback on observations
that you made in their classroom that day.
How will you respond to this conversation,
knowing that duty is not one of your
responsibilities as an instructional coach?
Discuss with another coach how best to
respond to the principal’s request.
3. A first year teacher comes to school stressed out because
she did not have time to finish making copies of the
handouts for the class discussion that day.
She asks you to make copies for her so that she can get the
classroom prepped for the day.
Pair up with a different coach and share how best to
respond to this teacher.
Coaching Scenarios #2
4. A teacher comes to you and asks you to
discipline a student who continues to
disrupt his class. The teacher mentions
that he has sent this student to the
office on several occasions, but he feels
that maybe if a different administrator
talks to the student it might make more
of an impact.
Pair up with a different coach and
discuss how you might handle this
situation.
