Advert case study 2
1. Magazine Advert: Case Study 2
Camera Shots/Angles/Editing:
2 close ups were used in
this magazine advert which
both use an eye-line match
to interact with the
audience and the close up
also helps as well. I never
thought I could use 2
images for my CD cover so I
might just have a mid-shot
of my artist and an image
from my CD print products.
A lot of air brushing has
obviously been done in the
editing process because I
literally can’t see a single
spot on Beyoncé’s face. A
greyscale was also added on
this magazine advert as well
(it’s also like the way the
greyscale was used in the
CD cover from “I AM SASHA
FIRECE”). This greyscale can
also be used in my
magazine advert to link the
two print products together
(that means I need to add
greyscales on all my
images). The colour scheme
of this advert is consistent
as well (grey/black/white).
Mise-En-Scen:
A lot of jewellery is wore on this
magazine advert and that is
because Beyoncé is very
wealthy and can afford to
easily display her collection of
jewellery, (I want to make my
artist relate to my audience by
wearing a simple necklace in
my print products). Beyoncé
also wears very flashy clothing
that looks extremely
expensive (such as the image
on the right). I want to have
my artist wearing plain black
clothing to keep with my
colour scheme which is similar
to Beyoncé’s one
(grey/black/white). The two
little images look like the CD
covers for this album. I will
also display a very small icon
of my CD front cover to show
the audience how similar
these two products are and
how they work together. A
dark greyish background is
used which is also consistent
with the colour scheme
Beyoncé is using.
The lettering used in this magazine advert is identical to the one used in Beyoncé’s
CD cover which this advert is trying to promote. Very large grey fancy styles font
was used for the text in Beyoncé’s name. I will make sure that I used a consistent
font as well as a consistent colour scheme to show the audience that all my print
products are linked in one way or another. There’s also a very small track listing on
the bottom right hand corner. There’s also a sign underneath Beyoncé’s name
informing the audience when this single will be released. The text of the title of this
album is above Beyoncé’s name and it is in a smaller/thinner font (white/silver)
which also keeps with the house style of this advert. For all of my text I will make
sure that their all in the same style font and in the same colour to keep my colour
scheme (grey/white/black).
