Greasy Lake Stereotypes
These bad kids with leather jackets, toothpicks in their mouths, and shades at all times. Tough, scary
looking boys, stereotyping what "bad" is and that they do nothing but crazy, stupid things. "Bad" is
what all boys are, they are up to no good, they drink, rape, and fight. As lost as these kids are, they
feel like they belong nowhere, but they find a place, a place called Greasy Lake and there they want
to find an escape. Realize that Greasy Lake is not all that fun anymore, these boys pretend to be
rebels to be crazy teens, keeping the stereotypes about teens alive. With that, they start to do horrible
events, start fighting a stranger, raping a woman, and destroying their car. Scared and afraid they all
disappear to the forest and end up

Analysis Of A Good Man Is Hard To Find By Flannery O Connor
While O'Connor clearly feels Christ is all, The Misfit thinks he is managing fine without Him. When
The Misfit shoots the grandmother he is recoiling from whatever grace she offers. He is rejecting not
just any warmth conveyed in the touch, but also the revolting world she represents and the repulsive
notion that he is her child. With good reason, The
Misfit is unwilling to be adopted by this grandmother.
Essentially, the story is a stronger indictment of the grandmother and her pathetic view of life than
oí The Misfit. It is no accident that the grandmother and her entire crew are killed off in the story:
this family vacation was doomed from the outset. And it is with no small degree of pleasure that
O'Connor finishes off this family. Her fictional world is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She casts a plain and cold eye on a sorry sight, a real world, and renders it mercilessly. A mean
pleasure sustains the satire and nourishes the reader. Though The Misfit finally decides "it's no real
pleasure in life" (p. 133), there is pleasure in this story. Studies in American Fiction117
A personal wrath oozes from "A Good Man is Hard to Find" and from most of O'Connor's fiction.
The wrath is O'Connor's strength and her idealism, her refusal to believe the world around her was
all. But apparently her anger left her with guilt enough to cause her to insist on an impossible
reading of her own story. In her version a moment of kindness mixed with a plea for mercy would
carry the day and push the massacred clan into the background, minimizing the survival of The

Personality In Dante's Inferno
Didn't have enough room to dump all this text on the app =v=/ so here is some more info on Dante.
Personality:
Dante is an introvert who works a lot better with others one on one vs being confronted by a group.
Carrying somewhat of a defeatist attitude, he hates being prejudged but accepts too easily nothing he
can do will change how others think of him, so why try right? It's not surprising this is the reason
why he doesn't get along with most people or why he can strongly come off like an ass even when
he doesn't mean for it. If somehow his distant personality doesn't push you away, you'll find that he's
actually a silly goofball under the surface, even messing or overly joking around with those he calls
close. Nothing hurts him more then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(He shapeshifts into his Amphitere form, the last thing his human form would want and a very, very
deadly alter ego. When locked into this spell Dante can not fight off the monstrous switch in his
brain and will become the most unforgiving sadistic creature hell bent on causing as much damage
to anyone and any thing as possible, even to those close to him, heck the closer the better. In this
form he can fly, fire a disgusting black fire ball and tunnel underground with his sharp claws.
Speaking of claws, if you get cut by them you will be infected with chromatose. A deadly virus that
only Amphitere blood built an immunity towards. Stage 1 is the cut turning pale followed by black
dots forming around the surround areas. Stage 2 is where it travels over the body causing it to go
completely sickly pale with black dots and horrendous cause of coughing up black ooze. Stage 3, the
ooze will fill the host system's body intill it leaks out every crack left and suffocates them from the

days to kill, however if the host has a damaged body or ends up getting more cuts it will processes

Oozes And Aahs Summary
The article, "Oozes and aahs: Slugs' gooey substance may provide alternative to surgery," begins by
talking about how scientists have been inspired by slug slime to create a flexible glue. Scientists
believe that sometime in the near future, this glue could possibly hold together a beating, bleeding
heart. According to the professor of Bioengineering at the University of California, "The sticking
power of this adhesive is probably on the order of 10 times better than what's currently on the
market." Not only can this adhesive contribute in surgeries, it can also help hold medications in
place that need to be released in the body. Since it is really flexible, scientists think that they could
possibly be used in the hearts of children who have

The Lady 's Dressing Room By Jonathan Swift
Part 1: The Lady's Dressing Room
In the poem, The Lady's Dressing Room, the author Jonathan Swift ridicules both genders for
adhering to a false sense of gender ideals set by society. He does this by looking at the poem through
a male perspective, this is particularly useful as it illustrates how men want to view women but
neglect that their own activities are equally as stereotypical. The societal ideals society places on
women is that they are clean and they all look and act in a similar manner to a goddess. Strephon
realizes this stereotype is not completely true as he rummages through Celia's belongings. Jonathan
Swift liberates men from societal norms as they see women as humans, and not goddesses.
This poem shows the gender ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, most people lack some of the lenses about the actual story. Over the years the story has
been distorted by society to enforce stereotypes. Everyone knows that Pandora opens a box and
unleashes all the evils of the world, proving women are tempted easily and only do bad for society if
given power. In the actual Greek myth, Pandora is given the box as a curse on her family. Pandora's
brother in law, decides to go against the will of The Olympian Gods, thus bringing upon this
punishment to Pandora. The story has been shaped to pin the entirety of the blame on women to
enforce the stereotype. Jonathan Swift shows how society loses certain lenses and shape their stories
to undermine women.
Jonathan Swift liberates men from the idea that all women are goddesses, he does this to make it
evident that women are humans and should not be held in such high regard. In the last stanza it is
evident that men should see the reality behind the beauty of women. This can be seen through the
reference to Aphrodite, it says
I pity wretched Stephon blind, to all the charms of Female kind; Should I the Queen of Love refuse,
because she rose from stinking Ooze?
The first two lines show how The Queen of Love places a curse on men, so that they see all women
are disgusting. This curse was falsely put on Strephon as hr adheres to societal norms, men generally
thought that women and the word "disgusting" are antonyms. From the

Personal Narrative: The Dominican Republic
My grandmother, Anastasia Herrera, fearing my father's death was imminent, put him on a plane
bound to the United States. Apparently, my dad, barely fifteen years old at the time, had joined the
Constitutionalists revolution in Santo Domingo. This rebel group was comprised of military
agitators and civilian combatants fighting against Trujillistas or politicos adopting the imperialistic
ideals of the fallen Dictator Rafael Leonidas Trujillo. My father was not an idle supporter, but rather
an active participant who manufactured Molotov cocktails, flinging bombs at law enforcement
officers in the streets while the civil war gained momentum. My father would often share memories
of the unstable political period in the Dominican Republic, his

A Basaltic Andesite: A Short Story
"Oh, hello there. Welcome the crater," said the chunk of basaltic andesite. With his front–half
overhanging the steep wall of the crater, he watched the silver–clad being scuttle up the incline
through the rusty soil towards a nearby outcropping of rock. The chunk of basaltic andesite waited
for the silver–clad being to respond. Nothing, "How rude," thought the chunk of basaltic andesite.
Instead, the silver–clad being approached the wall where the chunk's ancestors rested and began
striking. Vibrations from the silver–clad being's strike cascaded throughout the wall, causing the
chunk of basaltic andesite to wince in pain, his mass shifting closer to the edge. "Excuse me, sir,"
said the chunk of basaltic andesite. "Would you mind not striking that?" Another strike from the
silver–clad being, swifter this time, sent more vibrations through the wall. Shards of rock shot out

That's my grandmother. Stop that!" yelled the chunk of basaltic andesite. The silver–clad being
ceased its striking and waddled through the soil over to a shard of the basaltic andesite's

place that back where you found it." Unfortunately for the chunk of basaltic andesite's grandmother,
the silver–clad being reared back for yet another strike and cleaved her in two, exposing her to the
world. As the chunk of basaltic andesite moved to avert his gaze out of modesty, his footing slipped
and he rolled off the top of the wall. A mighty grunt erupted from the silver–clad being as the chunk
of basaltic andesite crushed it. Wind escaped from tears in the being's silver cladding followed by a
red ooze which matched the color of the soil. The being lay still under the chunk of basaltic

Inner Peace: Actor Denzel Washington Ooze Confidence
Confidence is an inner peace a person feels when they are comfortable knowing a particular subject
matter and having the ability to share that knowledge about the subject. Confidence is the courage to
be oneself. It is the ability to understand and not worry about a decision made on a subject.
Confidence can be seen in the appearance and posture of an individual. It can be heard in the voice
of an individual, and ultimately recognized in the body language, and the walk of an individual.
Actor Denzel Washington oozes confidence when he walks. His walk has been described as a
dignified poise which provides onlookers a glimpse of ethics, professionalism and self–image.
Confidence can be enhanced by putting on a fresh, new dress or suit,

Imagery In Gerard Hopkins's 'Gods Grander'
Gerard Hopkins "Gods Grander" is a poem illustrating a person concern over how the environment
is being treated in the world. The narrator in the poem dislikes, how the world is being treated
because of the human race not respecting or caring for the environment. The narrator wants the
world to be treated with respect because God created the world with love and care. The poem
introduces several literary elements like symbolism, imagery, and alliteration. The three literary
elements help prove that people can be joyful when the environment is damage and poorly care for.
Imagery is one of the artistic tools used in "Gods Grander". In the first stanza Hopkins writes "The
world is charged with the grandeur of God. / It will flame out, like shining from shook foil ;"( 1–2).
In the second line the word foil is used. Foil is used to show how God can strike out an electrical ray
on metal and encompassing all. The third line is also another example of imagery "It gathers to a
greatness, like the ooze of oil/ crushed. Why do men then now reck his rod" (Hopkins, 3–4)? The
ooze of oil shows God is kind and rich which represent the ooze that does not stop. A third example
of imagery in the poem is the second stanza in the poem (And though the last lights off the black
West went/ Oh, morning, at the brown brink eastward, springs–" (Hopkins 11–12). In the two lines,
one can image the sun in the west bringing with it night and the sun rising in the east bringing
morning. Each day starts

has natural flora on the surface, sometimes these micro–organisms may migrate from the surface of
the skin to the open surgical site (Carville, 2012). Wound management for Mr Brown will include
assessing the wound site and surround tissue, looking for signs of infection redness, swelling, pain,
increased temperature or ooze. As Mr Brown has a vacu drain institu the amount of exudate and
color of exudate will be monitored and recorded. Large amounts of exudate may indicate wound
complications, such as infection, abscess or a dehiscence of the wound (Carville, 2012). The
dressing will remain intact until the date specified by the doctor, until the dressing is changed,
regular monitoring of the wound site will continue. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Pros And Cons Of Microfossil
There's a new digital map limning the composition of the seafloor, and it's shown evidence of
"microfossil" graveyards off the coast of Australia, in addition to other complex deep–ocean
geology. The interactive map is actually available via the online journal Geology, published August
9th. This marks a first at creating an extensive, comprehensive map in the past 40 years. There hasn't
been a single attempt at such a map since the 1970s, which the University of Sydney has announced
was drawn by hand. "The old map suggests much of the Southern Ocean around Australia is mainly
covered by clay blown off the continent, whereas our map shows this area is actually a complex
patchwork of microfossil remains," said study author Adriana Dutkiewicz, a sedimentologist at the
University of Sydney in a statement. "Life in the Southern Ocean is much richer than previously
thought." The microfossils discovered are actually from a type of phytoplankton that takes in carbon
dioxide and excretes oxygen. Known as diatoms, these phyloplankton take roughly 20% of
breathable oxygen in the air, air we need to breathe. When they die, diatoms sink down to the dark
musty abyssal of the oceans, dragging all the their carbon with them. This process is referred to as
"carbon sink," and it helps prevent the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Continuing our studies of these underwater distributions of dead diatoms will help us come to
understand how oceans reacted to eras of greater climate change in the past, said Dutkiewicz. Color
coding (visible on the map) represents what composes the seafloor from region to region: light green
is "diatom ooze," which is a mix of mud and diatom bits; blue is "calcareous ooze," which is mud
and calcium carbonate from microscopic shelled animals; and brown is simply clay. Red spots are
volcanic ash and gravel, and yellow is

Value Of Respect Research Paper
I believe that respect is the most important value to have in a happy life. Now respect has many
different aspects to it; probably more than any one person can think of. So, I don't claim to cover
them all. Of the ones I could think are four big ones: authority, the environment, and each other's
diversities. Yes, you can count (no matter how bad at math you may claim to be), that was only
three. The fourth is the most important, but I'm going to keep it a secret until you learn what I mean
about the other three; just keep it in the back of your mind until then. Let's start with the first you
probably faced in life, authority. From the second you are born, being passed around from family
member to family member, to the first teacher you had, and then to your current boss, you may have
realized you aren't always the one in control. Well, that's okay. Without their wisdom or experience
you wouldn't be where you are today in life. Now I'm not saying you have to love or understand the
seemingly evil Mrs. Ooze you had in 2nd grade, with her biweekly spelling tests (no bonus point

What I mean is respect the environment of the place you are at. For example, if you are at a
swimming pool, don't pee in it, there is literally a bathroom 20 feet away. Or if you are at a national
park and see a rock where everyone has been engraving their initials into it, don't do it, S.T.U. and
P.I.D. are probably not even in love anymore. In the most common interpretation, our planet is being
hurt by our actions and there are little ways to keep it healthier, such as riding a bike a mile instead
of driving to you the park or waiting until you are at a trashcan to throw that McDonald's cup away.
No matter your belief about how we got here, we have to acknowledge that this earth is a gift and
we should treat it as such. Now, my third point, respect other's

A Toween Story : The Story Of A Halloween Story
I've never seen anything like it. It's so, priceless. So, very, intimidating. It's like thousands of
diamonds clumped together to form a new one. And what is this object, you may ask? Well, that isn't
important right now. The thing that is important is that I want it. To get it, I'll need to steal it! Now,
does that make me a thief, you should ask? Well, you'll need to keep going as I'm about to tell you
the story of my attempt on getting it. It all started on Thursday November 1 2009, which makes this
not a Halloween story, when I woke up to the sound of children screaming at the top of their lungs
when some other kid tripped and dropped his candy. Now, can you guess why they were screaming?
It wasn't the candy, but it was his knee. He was oozing out blueish whitish blood all over my
sidewalk. Then he fainted. The next morning, the ooze was still there. After three days, before I even
glanced over at my porch, a man who lived three doors down picks up the thin rectangular object
that now looks very light blue gets picked up. I know this may seem crazy, but this can be worth
millions. Heck, that thing's got to be at least one million dollars. First of all, why would he pick it up
in the first place, huh? On that very same night I carefully and quietly snuck over to this man's
house. I took his mail just because and found out his name was Hune Mi Buthurts (pronounced
honey my butt hurts.) I was glad my name wasn't anything like that, so I continued. The problem

Cornstarch Essay
In the world today, many people enjoy the sensation of bath bombs for its relaxing feeling and
amazing aroma. Although people enjoy them, many people are allergic to citric acid which is a main
ingredient in bath bombs. The objective is to find alternatives to citric acid and to find the ingredient
that causes the bath bomb to fizz the most and the fastest. Cornstarch will be one of the alternatives
to citric acid. Cornstarch is a starch that comes from the white part of corn, and it is a white powder
that when left alone is a brittle solid. Cornstarch's molecular formula is C27H48O20. Cornstarch is a
polymer, and the chains that create it move by each either, but it does take time to do so. When it is
mixed with water, a certain appearance and feel is shown that is unique to cornstarch. The mixture
of cornstarch and water is called a suspension because two substances are being blended together. It
is most commonly used for its binding and thickening properties in the kitchen. In the 1700s, Isaac

Castle Clash Research Paper
Castle Clash is an astounding game full of strategy and competition. Unlike the dim, rival game,
Clash of Clans, Castle Clash is based on heroes. Heroes are a necessity in this game. You won't get
far without them. Heroes in Castle Clash are separated into three groups; ordinary, elite, and
legendary. Ordinary heroes are the basic type of heroes, the easiest to acquire. The next step up is
elite heroes. Elite heroes are not yet the superlative, but they are far more ameliorating than
ordinaries. They are easily attained, but they're a slight trickier. Legendary heroes are the most
problematical to obtain. Ordinary heroes have the lowest stats, but are reasonably priced. If you
have just started the game, they will be great for you. There are eight ordinary heroes that consist of
Angel, Marauder, Hill Giant, Engineer, Frost Witch, Dryad, and Marksman. In order to get a specific
hero you have to purchase them with shards. You can also get them by rolling with Honor Badges or
gems, but there is a random choice of what hero you get. Elite heroes have mediocre stats and are
slightly more prefered than ordinary heroes. The following nine are elite ... Show more content on

Bad Girls Don T Die
Have you ever found yourself wondering about the afterlife? Of demons and spirits, and things not
quite alive nor dead? Katie Alender seems to have. Katie Alender (rhymes with calendar, but
without the c) grew up in South Florida, where she attended high school at the Palm Beach County
School of the Arts, studying Communication Arts. After graduating, she studied film at the Florida
State University Film School and then moved to Los Angeles, where she worked in TV development
and production for several years, including a large amount of time producing dog shows for Animal
Planet. She is very private about her life, however, we do know she writes books people find scary,
even though she's never meant for it to be that way. Katie Alender's writing ... Show more content

Alexis thought she already led a dysfunctional high school life when a family fight leads to some
sisterly bonding. As dysfunctional morphs into dangerous, as her sister Kasey begins acting
strangely; Alexis wants to believe it's all in her head, but soon it becomes life–threatening as she
questions, is Kasey even Kasey anymore? The ongoing theme we see is the author not only uses a
darker scarier tone and theme, but she uses a lot of imagery. First off in Bad Girls Don't Die it states,
"He faked his sigh and checked an imaginary watch. Your inability to answer the question doesn't
bode well for–" it may not seem like much but it really sets the scene for the reader. You can
obviously tell from this quote alone the man seems uninterested and bored. This quote being an
example of how imagery is used in Katie Alender's work to really put the author in the setting. It
also states in Bad Girls Don't Die "I stood perfectly still, looking up at the house and the dark sky
beyond it." Alender paints a picture of a dark gloomy and new environment in the reader's head. It
fits not only with the imagery piece but even the scary tone as it portrays and unsure and unsafe
image in the reader's mind. Both books alone already provide quite the case, but put together, they
create an even more riveting

Essay On Eczema
Eczema is a medical condition in which patches of skin become rough and inflamed, with blisters
that cause itching and bleeding, sometimes resulting from a reaction to irritation but more typically
having no obvious external cause.Atopic dermatitis (known as eczema) is an inherited, chronic
inflammatory skin condition that usually appears in early childhood. Patches of skin become red,
scaly and itchy. The exact cause of eczema is unknown, but it's thought to be linked to an overactive
response by the body's immune system to an irritant. It is this response that causes the symptoms of
eczema. In addition, eczema is commonly found in families with a history of other allergies or
asthma. It is also important to avoid skin irritants, such as soap, hot water and synthetic
fabrics.Everyday things in your environment cigarette smoke, pollen, and even your clothes can
cause eczema to flare.

Figurative Language In The Most Dangerous Game By Richard...
Richard Connel uses figurative language to develop the mood and setting throughout the short story
"The Most Dangerous Game." Figurative language is used to build suspense. Rainsford was dealing
with a game of life and death, literally. The only way he would be able to survive was if he
completed the challenge without getting killed or caught by either the general or his dogs. In a
hunting scenario he would be the hunter, but the roles have been reversed and he is being hunted.
The suspense continues to grow as the story continues because we wonder if the main character,
Rainford, will survive the games." Rainsford did not want to believe what his reason told him was
true, but the truth was as evident as the sun that had by now pushed through

God 's Grandeur By Gerald Manley Hopkins
At the beginning of the 19th Psalm, David writes, "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies
proclaim the work of his hands." Gerald Manley Hopkins seems to echo this theme in his poem,
"God's Grandeur." The interesting aspects of this poem are a result of Hopkins' different
perspectives on nature. In the beginning of the poem, Hopkins directs his focus on the glory of God
through the lens of the world. There is then a turning point where he diverts his attention to the
problems mankind inflicts upon creation. However, the closing of the poem involves him stepping
back and reflecting upon the eternality of God. "God's Grandeur" is interwoven with powerful
imagery that is evoked by elaborate double entendres that reflect the interaction between humans,
nature, and the eternal grandeur of God that surpasses Earth, which though temporary, is under
constant care from God despite our actions.
The first stanza provides an interesting dynamic between creation and man. Hopkins writes, "The
world is charged with grandeur of God. / It will flame out, shining from shook foil..." (1–2). The
first two lines provide an interesting double entendre. When Hopkins' writes, "The world is charged
with the grandeur of God" (1), is evokes the imagery of electricity. Thus, the "shook foil" mentioned
in the second line characterizes the world of having bursts of energy and light similar to when light
is shone upon metallic surfaces like foil. The other interpretation comes from

"Yeah. I was with him for three years. It's been... rough." We're sitting in an old–fashioned greasy
spoon, eating cheeseburgers and fries for breakfast. The toasted bun is glowing with grease, and a

Personal Narrative Essay On Pumpkin Picking
It was a nice day to go pumpkin picking with my family. We went to the local farms to pick our
pumpkins. I wanted to pick the perfect one. My mom told me a story about zombie pumpkins. I
didn't believe her because she tells me that story every year we go pumpkin picking. When we got
there the clouds were turning dark gray and the air was very heavy. The fog filled the aisles of the
apple trees. We had to pick our pumpkins fast because the weather was turning bad, a storm was
coming. I saw the perfect pumpkin all the way in the back of the patch. I picked one up and it was
perfect. As I turned it around, it was really a pumpkin zombie. The eyes were dark red, seeds were
coming out of its mouth, and green ooze dripped from its ears and nose.

Greasy Lake Stereotypes

  • 1. Greasy Lake Stereotypes These bad kids with leather jackets, toothpicks in their mouths, and shades at all times. Tough, scary looking boys, stereotyping what "bad" is and that they do nothing but crazy, stupid things. "Bad" is what all boys are, they are up to no good, they drink, rape, and fight. As lost as these kids are, they feel like they belong nowhere, but they find a place, a place called Greasy Lake and there they want to find an escape. Realize that Greasy Lake is not all that fun anymore, these boys pretend to be rebels to be crazy teens, keeping the stereotypes about teens alive. With that, they start to do horrible events, start fighting a stranger, raping a woman, and destroying their car. Scared and afraid they all disappear to the forest and end up ... • 5. Analysis Of A Good Man Is Hard To Find By Flannery O Connor While O'Connor clearly feels Christ is all, The Misfit thinks he is managing fine without Him. When The Misfit shoots the grandmother he is recoiling from whatever grace she offers. He is rejecting not just any warmth conveyed in the touch, but also the revolting world she represents and the repulsive notion that he is her child. With good reason, The Misfit is unwilling to be adopted by this grandmother. Essentially, the story is a stronger indictment of the grandmother and her pathetic view of life than oí The Misfit. It is no accident that the grandmother and her entire crew are killed off in the story: this family vacation was doomed from the outset. And it is with no small degree of pleasure that O'Connor finishes off this family. Her fictional world is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She casts a plain and cold eye on a sorry sight, a real world, and renders it mercilessly. A mean pleasure sustains the satire and nourishes the reader. Though The Misfit finally decides "it's no real pleasure in life" (p. 133), there is pleasure in this story. Studies in American Fiction117 A personal wrath oozes from "A Good Man is Hard to Find" and from most of O'Connor's fiction. The wrath is O'Connor's strength and her idealism, her refusal to believe the world around her was all. But apparently her anger left her with guilt enough to cause her to insist on an impossible reading of her own story. • 9. Personality In Dante's Inferno Didn't have enough room to dump all this text on the app =v=/ so here is some more info on Dante. Personality: Dante is an introvert who works a lot better with others one on one vs being confronted by a group. Carrying somewhat of a defeatist attitude, he hates being prejudged but accepts too easily nothing he can do will change how others think of him, so why try right? It's not surprising this is the reason why he doesn't get along with most people or why he can strongly come off like an ass even when he doesn't mean for it. If somehow his distant personality doesn't push you away, you'll find that he's actually a silly goofball under the surface, even messing or overly joking around with those he calls close. Nothing hurts him more then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (He shapeshifts into his Amphitere form, the last thing his human form would want and a very, very deadly alter ego. When locked into this spell Dante can not fight off the monstrous switch in his brain and will become the most unforgiving sadistic creature hell bent on causing as much damage to anyone and any thing as possible, even to those close to him, heck the closer the better. In this form he can fly, fire a disgusting black fire ball and tunnel underground with his sharp claws. Speaking of claws, if you get cut by them you will be infected with chromatose. A deadly virus that only Amphitere blood built an immunity towards. Stage 1 is the cut turning pale followed by black dots forming around the surround areas. Stage 2 is where it travels over the body causing it to go completely sickly pale with black dots and horrendous cause of coughing up black ooze. Stage 3, the ooze will fill the host system's body intill it leaks out every crack left and suffocates them from the inside out making for a painful death. Oozes And Aahs Summary The article, "Oozes and aahs: Slugs' gooey substance may provide alternative to surgery," begins by talking about how scientists have been inspired by slug slime to create a flexible glue. Scientists believe that sometime in the near future, this glue could possibly hold together a beating, bleeding heart. According to the professor of Bioengineering at the University of California, "The sticking power of this adhesive is probably on the order of 10 times better than what's currently on the market." Not only can this adhesive contribute in surgeries, it can also help hold medications in place that need to be released in the body. Since it is really flexible, scientists think that they could possibly be used in the hearts of children who have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. The Lady 's Dressing Room By Jonathan Swift Part 1: The Lady's Dressing Room In the poem, The Lady's Dressing Room, the author Jonathan Swift ridicules both genders for adhering to a false sense of gender ideals set by society. He does this by looking at the poem through a male perspective, this is particularly useful as it illustrates how men want to view women but neglect that their own activities are equally as stereotypical. The societal ideals society places on women is that they are clean and they all look and act in a similar manner to a goddess. Strephon realizes this stereotype is not completely true as he rummages through Celia's belongings. Jonathan Swift liberates men from societal norms as they see women as humans, and not goddesses. This poem shows the gender ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, most people lack some of the lenses about the actual story. Over the years the story has been distorted by society to enforce stereotypes. Everyone knows that Pandora opens a box and unleashes all the evils of the world, proving women are tempted easily and only do bad for society if given power. In the actual Greek myth, Pandora is given the box as a curse on her family. Pandora's brother in law, decides to go against the will of The Olympian Gods, thus bringing upon this punishment to Pandora. The story has been shaped to pin the entirety of the blame on women to enforce the stereotype. Jonathan Swift shows how society loses certain lenses and shape their stories to undermine women. Jonathan Swift liberates men from the idea that all women are goddesses, he does this to make it evident that women are humans and should not be held in such high regard. In the last stanza it is evident that men should see the reality behind the beauty of women. This can be seen through the reference to Aphrodite, it says I pity wretched Stephon blind, to all the charms of Female kind; Should I the Queen of Love refuse, because she rose from stinking Ooze? The first two lines show how The Queen of Love places a curse on men, so that they see all women are disgusting. This curse was falsely put on Strephon as hr adheres to societal norms, men generally thought that women and the word "disgusting" are antonyms. From the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With his front–half overhanging the steep wall of the crater, he watched the silver–clad being scuttle up the incline through the rusty soil towards a nearby outcropping of rock. The chunk of basaltic andesite waited for the silver–clad being to respond. Nothing, "How rude," thought the chunk of basaltic andesite. Instead, the silver–clad being approached the wall where the chunk's ancestors rested and began striking. Vibrations from the silver–clad being's strike cascaded throughout the wall, causing the chunk of basaltic andesite to wince in pain, his mass shifting closer to the edge. "Excuse me, sir," said the chunk of basaltic andesite. "Would you mind not striking that?" Another strike from the silver–clad being, swifter this time, sent more vibrations through the wall. Unfortunately for the chunk of basaltic andesite's grandmother, the silver–clad being reared back for yet another strike and cleaved her in two, exposing her to the world. As the chunk of basaltic andesite moved to avert his gaze out of modesty, his footing slipped and he rolled off the top of the wall. Inner Peace: Actor Denzel Washington Ooze Confidence Confidence is an inner peace a person feels when they are comfortable knowing a particular subject matter and having the ability to share that knowledge about the subject. Confidence is the courage to be oneself. It is the ability to understand and not worry about a decision made on a subject. Confidence can be seen in the appearance and posture of an individual. It can be heard in the voice of an individual, and ultimately recognized in the body language, and the walk of an individual. Actor Denzel Washington oozes confidence when he walks. • 37. Imagery In Gerard Hopkins's 'Gods Grander' Gerard Hopkins "Gods Grander" is a poem illustrating a person concern over how the environment is being treated in the world. The narrator in the poem dislikes, how the world is being treated because of the human race not respecting or caring for the environment. The narrator wants the world to be treated with respect because God created the world with love and care. The poem introduces several literary elements like symbolism, imagery, and alliteration. The three literary elements help prove that people can be joyful when the environment is damage and poorly care for. Imagery is one of the artistic tools used in "Gods Grander". In the first stanza Hopkins writes "The world is charged with the grandeur of God. / It will flame out, like shining from shook foil ;"( 1–2). In the second line the word foil is used. Foil is used to show how God can strike out an electrical ray on metal and encompassing all. The third line is also another example of imagery "It gathers to a greatness, like the ooze of oil/ crushed. Why do men then now reck his rod" (Hopkins, 3–4)? The ooze of oil shows God is kind and rich which represent the ooze that does not stop. A third example of imagery in the poem is the second stanza in the poem (And though the last lights off the black West went/ Oh, morning, at the brown brink eastward, springs–" (Hopkins 11–12). In the two lines, one can image the sun in the west bringing with it night and the sun rising in the east bringing morning. Each day starts ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 49. Pros And Cons Of Microfossil There's a new digital map limning the composition of the seafloor, and it's shown evidence of "microfossil" graveyards off the coast of Australia, in addition to other complex deep–ocean geology. The interactive map is actually available via the online journal Geology, published August 9th. This marks a first at creating an extensive, comprehensive map in the past 40 years. There hasn't been a single attempt at such a map since the 1970s, which the University of Sydney has announced was drawn by hand. "The old map suggests much of the Southern Ocean around Australia is mainly covered by clay blown off the continent, whereas our map shows this area is actually a complex patchwork of microfossil remains," said study author Adriana Dutkiewicz, a sedimentologist at the University of Sydney in a statement. "Life in the Southern Ocean is much richer than previously thought." The microfossils discovered are actually from a type of phytoplankton that takes in carbon dioxide and excretes oxygen. Known as diatoms, these phyloplankton take roughly 20% of breathable oxygen in the air, air we need to breathe. When they die, diatoms sink down to the dark musty abyssal of the oceans, dragging all the their carbon with them. This process is referred to as "carbon sink," and it helps prevent the ... • 62. Value Of Respect Research Paper I believe that respect is the most important value to have in a happy life. Now respect has many different aspects to it; probably more than any one person can think of. So, I don't claim to cover them all. Of the ones I could think are four big ones: authority, the environment, and each other's diversities. Yes, you can count (no matter how bad at math you may claim to be), that was only three. The fourth is the most important, but I'm going to keep it a secret until you learn what I mean about the other three; just keep it in the back of your mind until then. Let's start with the first you probably faced in life, authority. From the second you are born, being passed around from family member to family member, to the first teacher you had, and then to your current boss, you may have realized you aren't always the one in control. Well, that's okay. Without their wisdom or experience you wouldn't be where you are today in life. Now I'm not saying you have to love or understand the seemingly evil Mrs. Ooze you had in 2nd grade, with her biweekly spelling tests (no bonus point words) and aroma of old lady (not the grandma type, the ... Or if you are at a national park and see a rock where everyone has been engraving their initials into it, don't do it, S.T.U. and P.I.D. are probably not even in love anymore. In the most common interpretation, our planet is being hurt by our actions and there are little ways to keep it healthier, such as riding a bike a mile instead of driving to you the park or waiting until you are at a trashcan to throw that McDonald's cup away. No matter your belief about how we got here, we have to acknowledge that this earth is a gift and we should treat it as such. Now, my third point, respect other's ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It's like thousands of diamonds clumped together to form a new one. And what is this object, you may ask? Well, that isn't important right now. The thing that is important is that I want it. To get it, I'll need to steal it! Now, does that make me a thief, you should ask? Well, you'll need to keep going as I'm about to tell you the story of my attempt on getting it. It all started on Thursday November 1 2009, which makes this not a Halloween story, when I woke up to the sound of children screaming at the top of their lungs when some other kid tripped and dropped his candy. Now, can you guess why they were screaming? It wasn't the candy, but it was his knee. He was oozing out blueish whitish blood all over my sidewalk. Then he fainted. The next morning, the ooze was still there. After three days, before I even glanced over at my porch, a man who lived three doors down picks up the thin rectangular object that now looks very light blue gets picked up. I know this may seem crazy, but this can be worth millions. Heck, that thing's got to be at least one million dollars. First of all, why would he pick it up in the first place, huh? On that very same night I carefully and quietly snuck over to this man's house. I took his mail just because and found out his name was Hune Mi Buthurts (pronounced honey my butt hurts.) I shared on February sixth how he shows his dedication to both his job and family along with some past memories we've shared together and advice he has taught me. Before I shared my speech I was very nervous because I'm know as the shy girl that never raises her hand even if she knows the answer. Although I was confident I knew my speech and practiced it many times so I knew there shouldn't be anything to be scared of. My speech had some positives, one of which was the fact that I used the SA walking method, made eye contact throughout and showed some emotion like laughing or smiling at the past funny stories. Cornstarch is a starch that comes from the white part of corn, and it is a white powder that when left alone is a brittle solid. Cornstarch's molecular formula is C27H48O20. Cornstarch is a polymer, and the chains that create it move by each either, but it does take time to do so. When it is mixed with water, a certain appearance and feel is shown that is unique to cornstarch. The mixture of cornstarch and water is called a suspension because two substances are being blended together. It is most commonly used for its binding and thickening properties in the kitchen. In the 1700s, Isaac Newton identified the properties of a liquid, and later called them Newtonian fluids. Ooze does not act like any normal liquid, so it is called a non–Newtonian fluid. When ... The longer the mixture is left, the cornstarch will begin to settle in the bottom of the bowl. All of this happens due to the size, shape, and makeup of the cornstarch while pressure is being applied to it. The ongoing theme we see is the author not only uses a darker scarier tone and theme, but she uses a lot of imagery. Gerald Manley Hopkins seems to echo this theme in his poem, "God's Grandeur." The interesting aspects of this poem are a result of Hopkins' different perspectives on nature. In the beginning of the poem, Hopkins directs his focus on the glory of God through the lens of the world. There is then a turning point where he diverts his attention to the problems mankind inflicts upon creation. However, the closing of the poem involves him stepping back and reflecting upon the eternality of God. "God's Grandeur" is interwoven with powerful imagery that is evoked by elaborate double entendres that reflect the interaction between humans, nature, and the eternal grandeur of God that surpasses Earth, which though temporary, is under constant care from God despite our actions. The first stanza provides an interesting dynamic between creation and man. Hopkins writes, "The world is charged with grandeur of God. / It will flame out, shining from shook foil..." (1–2). The first two lines provide an interesting double entendre. When Hopkins' writes, "The world is charged with the grandeur of God" (1), is evokes the imagery of electricity. Thus, the "shook foil" mentioned in the second line characterizes the world of having bursts of energy and light similar to when light is shone upon metallic surfaces like foil.
