Psychographic segmentation divides the
market into groups based on social
class, lifestyle and personality characteristics.
It is based on the assumption that the types
of products and brands an individual
purchases will reflect that persons
characteristics and patterns of living.
3.
Thrillers are also a film that could appeal to
every type of Psychographics as they are not
specified as much as other genres.
4. There are 7 main types of character;
Aspirers: Typically younger people who seek
status and are
materialistic, acquisitive, orientated to image
and appearance, persona and fashion.
Mainstreamers: This is the largest group who
seek security and tend to be
domestic, conformist, conventional and
sentimental.
5.
Succeeders: Typically higher management
and professionals who seek control and have
strong goals, are confident, organised and
have a positive work ethic
Resigned: Typically older people who seek
survival and are rigid and authoritarian
values. They are interested in past and
tradition.
Explorers: Typically a younger demographic
(students?) who seek discovery and have
energy individualism and experience.
6.
Strugglers: Typically lower demographics who
seek escape and are alienated and
disorganised. They have few resources
beyond physical skills, they buy alcohol, junk
food and lottery tickets.
Reformers: They are anti-materialistic but
aware of good taste, they seek enlightenment
and have freedom of restrictions and
personal growth. They have social awareness
and independent judgement.
