3. Introduction :-
Environmental pollution is the effect of
undesirable changes in our surroundings that have
harmfull effects on plants, animals, and human beings.
Pollutants can be solid, liquid or gaseous substances
present in greater concentration than in natural
abundance and are produced due to human activities or
due to natural happenings.
6. Particulate pollutants:
particulate pollutants are the
minute solid particles or liquid droplets in air.
These are present in vehical emissions, smoke
particles from fires, dust particles and ash from
industries.
8. Effects of Pollution
Dieases of the lungs, eyes,neck,nose,etc.including
birth defects are the direct consequence of air
borne pollutants.the toxic effects are also found
in plants and animals. In extreme cases damage
to nervous system, breathing discomfort, cold and
even cancers are not uncommon.
The concerns in global effects are rising-ozone
depletion, green house effect and global warming
are the major issues taken in international
conferences.
9. Air Pollution
Air pollution is the atmospheric
pollution of gases, liquids or solids
present in amounts dangerous for health
of humans, animals and plants.
10. Water Pollution
It can be defined as, changes in physical, chemical and
biological characteristics of water. When a harmful
substance is introduced, it changes the natural quality of
water. This water can be surface water i.e. river and lakes.
The water may be use for drinking, agricultural activities,
irrigation or for industry.
the polluted water may get contaminated with different
pollutants such as chemicals, pathogens or even
microorganisms.
this polluted water is dangerous for the health of human,
animals and plants.
11. Soil pollution
The major soil pollutants come from mining
activities and some oter from agriculture. The
soil is the most important part for farming , if it
is not fertile,nothing can grow.
the soil fertility is due to inorganic materials,
organic matter and microorganism breeding in
nutrients.
12. Noise Pollution
Noise was not included as a pollutant. However, with the
knowledge that noise can disturb peace of mind and
tranquility. It is unwanted sound released in the
atmosphere without carrying for the adverse effect it can
have on the health of human beings.this unwanted noise
can interfere with speech, communication or relaxation. at
higher levels it can disturb hearing, damage ears, result in
headache and even include madness of different nature in
a healthy individuals.
13. Conclusions of
Pollution
Much is being done to control, monitor
and rectify damage done by pollutants.
The problems are diverse and some are
only being recognized but it is important
to keep a close control over pollutants. So
we can maintain the envt. In an
acceptable condition for future
generations.
