Donny Jones Research Paper
The baby boomer generations started in 1943–1960 after world war two and the traditionalist felt
safe they were able to have more babies than any other generation yet. They had so many newborn
babies that a baby was born every nineteen seconds. This was the first time that mothers where able
to enjoy their children and not have to worry about whether or not they could support them or that
war would get in the way of a good living. There is also the idea that the baby boom was the result
of the economy wanting to build up the number of its people so that they would be prepared for any
war to come (Zemke, 2000).
Let me introduce you to my uncle Donny Jones. He was born on June 10th 1952 in Summerset
Kentucky. He was the first born and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He always enjoyed hearing about all of the festivals and movements but was not a part of any of it
until he graduated from High school. During high school he started working for the rail road and
worked for the rail road for over twenty years. Once he left the railroad he started his own
construction company ever since. One thing with Donny you will find out right away is hid passion
for God, work and his opinions about things. Donny has had over six life threatening event like
heart attacks, open heart surgery and strokes, but at the age of 63 he does not and will not stop
working. He has a passion for food that will also never go away even if it is bad for his heart.
Working and food are some of the things that make Donny happy so this is where I can see the Baby
Boomer generation in him and how he is all about what feels good at the time.
Donny was in Tennessee during the riots and sit–ins, I am not sure what he was doing there at the
time, because he would not talk much about it. He has an intensity about him when he thinks a
certain way. He is known for the passion behind his stories and the passion behind what he believes
in. He is a great teacher and will help you with anything you might not understand, but he is also a
part of the Boomers in the way he does not do well with confrontation or standing up against his
views (Zemke,

Begin Before Birth Research
"We have known for a long time that how we turn out depends on both our genes and our
environment. What we now realize is that the influence of the environment begins in the womb, and
how the mother feels during pregnancy can change this environment and can have a lasting effect on
the development of her child." (Karraa, W. (2012, September 28). Begin Before Birth; Reproductive

But when depression, anxiety and low self–esteem is baseline for a mother...that baby is likely to be
experiencing the same thing. What can I do, as a pregnant mother, to ensure that my mental health is
in the best state in can be? It has really been a lesson in learning to let things go and ask myself how
important is this? I am finding that this is good practice for me and hopefully I will continue it after
pregnancy. I am using physical activity, if endorphins make me happy...they should make baby
happy. I am learning and implementing breathing and grounding techniques to reduce anxiety and
racing thoughts. I have learned with my therapist that my body is pretty used to constantly being in a
state of high alert. I do not want to pass this to my baby. Education...simply learning about these
factors has influenced greater awareness and desire to improve my quality of living for my unborn
baby, but also for myself. These factors not only influence my unborn baby...but as we learned
throughout the class the caregiver's, in this case my, state of being also impact the ability to affect
secure attachment with a new infant. Basically, we know that these changes are healthy changes but
starting them early in pregnancy may very well increase the overall health of my baby. "Being aware
of your unborn baby at all times is the first stage in bonding with her and making sure you have a
good relationship in the future." (Stoppard, M. (2008). Conception, Pregnancy & Birth: The

Babies Pacifiers
Babies can get fussy, especially in their younger years. Fortunately for parents, the pacifiers can
well, pacify them. However, despite this very good perk, it seems that not everyone agrees on the
benefits of getting one for their little tyke. Here are three things to keep in mind why it's completely
okay to make use of these quirky little inventions:
1) Pacifiers may reduce the use of SIDS or Sudden Infant Death Syndromes, as the periodic
movement of your baby's mouth while sucking keeps him in a lighter state of sleep, so there is less
of a chance that he will stop breathing," says Parents advisor Jennifer Shu.

A study from the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland found that the percentage of
babies who exclusively breastfed dropped after pacifiers were dropped from the Mother–Baby unit,
and mothers ended up supplementing them with formula. As lactation consultant Freda Rosenfeld
noted, there is nothing wrong with a newborn using a pacifier as long as the baby is gaining weight
and as long as it has been fed.
Sweeteners put on baby bottles and pacifiers can be harmful. (817) 741–4288

3) Pacifiers can't cause dental problems. A child's mouth is malleable enough so that whatever
changes a pacifier can cause, can still be corrected. For most, there is no harm in the first two years.
However, take note that a child should use the paci less and less as they get older. For instance,
children who use the pacifier into toddlerhood can lead to malocclusion, where their teeth don't align
properly.

The Ideal And The Real Of Breast-Feed
In this article, "The Ideal and the Real of Breast–Feeding" by Jane E. Brody, Brody brings some
good points to light. The campaign to exclusively breastfeed for the first six months in today's
society is becoming increasingly prevalent by health care providers, lactation consultants, and other
organizations. Brody's notable outlook on breastfeeding stems from her own personal experiences
with her twin boys. The ever increasing numbers of reasons one should breastfeed and how
important it is for the health of the child to continue to grow. As the textbook, "How Children
Develop" by Robert Siegler, shows it is a natural life source. Mammals use breast milk as a source
of nutrition for their young. Humans have become more reliant on formula feeding. ... Show more

Aside from Brody's personal point of view, there is no real talk to the reality of the time and energy
spent by mom to strictly feeding a baby by breast. How can we create a study of full benefits to
breastfeeding? What are the true differences between a formula fed and a breastfed baby? How can
we go about better education to the mothers who are potentially choosing to breastfeed? How do we
make moms feel comfortable and know that it is not their fault if they are unable to breastfeed? New
moms need a lot support, especially in the first few months after the baby is born. They should not
feel that they are doing something wrong by not being able to feed baby. The support for these
women should stem from every branch they have, such as doctors, family members, and any
educational tool they see fit to use. Programs like WIC, lactation consultants, and the La Letche
League should provide better support for moms who chose that breastfeeding may not be suited for

Psychiatrist – That's totally fine, come and sit down so what do you want to chat about?

Larsen – That stupid company Raecorp decided to fire me after my two hard years of work. (Angry
tone)
Psychiatrist – Ohh tell me more about where you worked and were you acknowledged for what you
did?
Larsen – I was one of the best research scientists in the company and was working on a huge

acknowledged my work and kept piling up more and more work for me and setting up some stupid
deadlines that were impossible to reach. (Loud angry tone and hint of complaining, sits up and uses
hand gestures to reflect anger)
Psychiatrist – Did that make you angry or was it tough to handle the situations? (Curious tone, his
hand on the chin)
Larsen – Yea I could handle the pressure quite desirably but you know I am a human too I need a

Petrel: A Fictional Narrative
Beep! Beep! Beep!
Mmmm, I groaned "5:50 is way too early for anyone to wake up" I thought as I rolled over to turn
off my alarm clock. I blindly slapped it, trying to find the off button, and turning on the radio in the
process. "Last night Bill Berton, former player for the Buffalo hockey team was announced dead in
a hotel suite." I gasped and sat right up, my eyes wide. Bill was my uncle. I have not seen him in a
long time, 3 years, I think, but now he's dead and I'll never see him again. The reporter continued.
"His wife found him hanging by a rope tied around his neck when she came out of the bathroom."
I sat there, more stunted than ever. I sat there my mind spinning.

Where did that come from, I don't hate you?"
Another message popped up. "Petrel told me you hate me."
Petrel? I thought why would Petrel say that?
"Here, this is what Petrel sent me." Replied Kate, followed by by a long paragraph that said,
"Samantha, Morgan, and I are getting really sick of your recent change in attitude. All you do is talk
to your new friends and never talk to us any more, and we have decided that we are done with it and
none of us want to be friends with someone who doesn't pay attention to us.
I sat there in shock. Petrel was literally my best friend ever. She was that one friend that you relied
on more than your family, you could talk about anything with, and there were no secrets. It was true
that Kate was paying less attention to us and more to her new friends, but I was happy for her. I
couldn't believe that she would say something like that, I glanced back down at my screen. There
was a message from Petrel, this time saying " Hey! What's up?" with a smiley face emoji.
"Why did you tell Kate I hate her?" I responded.
I sat there staring at the screen, no response. Then finally she responded, "Oh"
"And..." I pressed.

My Sister's Baby
"Shut up. I do not hate babies," my sister responded after I could not hide my astonishment at her
announcement. Although my mind was full of visions of her beating me up when I was little and she
was in charge, I gave her a hug anyway and told her that I hoped she would be happy. Why not? She
was married and financially independent; in fact, her work was extremely important to her. She even
invited me into the delivery room as her second coach. Upon first inspection, the room looked
nothing like the pea green tiled delivery rooms so often depicted on television. The floors, although
scuffed and well used, were hardwood and the walls were lined in soft shades of pink and blue in an

I finally broke down and timidly asked her why she was so composed, almost afraid that in asking I
might jinx it. She quickly informed me, "Because I am ready to get this damn thing out of my
stomach. You try carrying around a 27 pound deformity for nine months, and the momentary pain
becomes nothing. Anything to get this pregnancy over with."
I laughed to myself as I watched her lying there bitching because she was hungry. I could just see
her struggling to squeeze her swollen feet into heels as she had so many times in the previous nine
months, fussing the whole time about how it seemed so ridiculous that her feet were involved in the
situation.
"My feet weren't involved in the conception; why the hell are they a part of it now? Every part of me
is messed up. Why couldn't God just leave my feet the hell alone," she would explain to anyone who
would listen. Usually it was her husband. He would sit solemnly and listen to her go off on tangents,
about how man has evolved for thousands of years, but the barbaric art of pregnancy has remained
unchanged almost as if he thought it was his penance for putting her in such a predicament. When
she would get finished he would just shake his head and rub her on

Do What You Eat Affect Your Breastfed Baby?
What affects the breast milk and how?
Do what you eat affect your breastfed baby? What affects the content of your breast milk? When I
started breastfeeding my baby, a lot of these questions troubled me. I had an easy breastfeeding
experience, my baby was not difficult and had a voracious appetite from the start. But even after
this, a lot of times he would react differently after I fed him, he would sometimes spat up a lot or
have a colored stool. If you have any doubts regarding breastfeeding or see unusual behavior in your
baby, the first thing to do is talk to the doctor about it. Pregnant women pay careful attention to their
diet, since everything they eat or drink somehow find its way to the baby.
Baby's fuss and uneasiness after being breastfed make us believe that all that you eat and drink
directly has a correlation with the baby. But before stopping breastfeeding or eating a particular
ingredient, make sure that there is no other reason for baby's discomfort. ... Show more content on

It is important for the mother to focus on having a complete balanced diet, but it is also important to
know how some foods, the herbs etc. can affect breastfeeding. Also, it is essential to note that poor
diet is more likely to affect the mother than the child. Some of the major points can be categorized
as follows:
Food
While it is always advised to carefully monitor what you eat, it is rarely the case when food has
become problematic for breastfeeding. If your baby acts fussy every time you eat a certain
food/ingredient, you look for no more red signals to stop consuming it. Some of the symptoms of
food allergy in babies can be hard stools, vomiting, bloody or mucous stools, congestion etc.

The Generation Of Generation And Student Loan Debt
Generation X faces many issues unique to their generation, technology was advancing, and
computer were becoming more affordable and widespread. They faced both social and ecological
issues, with advances in medicine that caused the generation before them to live longer, and being
the one of the first generations to be effected by student loan debt. Generation Xers are often known
for their high level of skepticism and their "what do I get out of this" attitudes. They are considered
to be the first generation of "latchkey" kids, or kids without much boundaries. During the 60's and
70's divorce rates were at an all–time high, so many of the children of this generation were exposed
to large amounts of divorce (Schroer). Which might explain for the high levels of skepticism and
freedom they had. It seemed they also didn't care much for politics sense they had the lowest voting
participant rate of any other generation. Generation Xers are often referred to as the Baby Bust
generation. They were born 1965– 1976, now many Gen Xers find themselves having large amounts
of responsibility. Having to take care of the now retiring Baby Boomer generation and the still
young Millennia Generation. At this point they have all reached middle age and most are at the
height of their professional careers. Gen Xers are the least represented generation, they are often
looked over in regards to marketing and statistics. They are the demographic bridge between the

How Babies Talks by Roberta Michnick Golink and Kathy...
How Babies Talk is a book written by Roberta Michnick Golinkoff and Kathy Hirsh–Pasek. The
book discusses how babies acquire language throughout various stages (The first three years of life)
of their infant life. The chapter I chose to elaborate on was chapter 7, which outlines language and
grammar between the ages of twenty–four to thirty–six months. Chapter 7 begins with the ways
children develop more sophisticated grammar and vocabulary. Golinkoff states that the usage of
"the" "–ing" "–s" "–ed" and "and" illustrates the glue of sentence structure and particles. The
examples given in the text iterate that without these simple words and endings, sentences used by
children would not make sense. The main point of this chapter is how children use questions to learn
how to communicate properly. The single word question "Why?" has much to do with how a child
learns proper communication. Golinkoff's idea of children learning from asking why is a thought
that I agree with. As a child my parents often told me to ask why because that is how you learn new
things. To this day, I still follow the advice of my parents; the use of why allows me to further my
knowledge of material that I previously did not know. In relation to Golinkoff's idea about children
learning from asking why seems rather feasible as asking why in other aspects of life helps
individuals learn more. The idea also relates to what was discussed in lecture that children often
repeat (in the sense what

Essay On Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, Pediatric
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) happens when acid from the stomach flows up into the
tube that connects the mouth and stomach (esophagus). When acid comes in contact with the
esophagus, the acid causes soreness (inflammation) in the esophagus. Over time, GERD may create
small holes (ulcers) in the lining of the esophagus.
Some babies have a condition called gastroesophageal reflux. This is different than GERD. This
causes your baby to spit up breast milk, formula, or food shortly after a feeding. Reflux is common
in babies younger than 2 years and usually gets better with age. Most babies stop having reflux by
age 12–14 months. Vomiting and poor feeding that lasts longer than 12–14 months may be
symptoms of GERD.

Persuasive Speech : Breastfeeding Infants Essay
Speech Category: Persuasion Speech
Topic: Breastfeeding Infants
General Purpose: Motivational
Specific Purpose: The purpose of this speech is to motivate my audience by discussing the
problems, solutions, and potential outcomes of breastfeeding infants.
INTRODUCTION:
Attention Step: According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, in 2013 in the state of
Georgia, only 6.2% of infants were exclusively breastfeed by the age of 6 months.
Establish Need /Relevance: Breastfeeding is beneficial to the infant, the parents, and even the
environment. Breastfeeding saves babies' lives!
Establish Credibility: My son is now 10 months old, and has been exclusively breastfed since birth.
He has never experienced any health issues beyond a common cold. He has never had an ear
infection, never experienced diarrhea, asthma, allergies, colic or obesity. It is my strong belief, and
statistics back me up, that this is in fact because he is breastfed. I believe I am credible to motivate
you to breastfeed your infant or encourage your loved ones to.
Thesis: Although the number of breastfeeding moms is on the increase, there are still a low
percentage of mothers who do breastfeed their children for the recommended amount of time.
Therefore I am going to present on (1) the problem with breastfeeding infants, (2) solutions to the
problem of breastfeeding infants, and (3) visualization of results on breastfeeding infants.

The Baby Boomers Generation
There are many challenges facing managers and leaders in current workforce. The variety of
cultures, races and generations in today's environment is making work harder. "Managing will also
get even more difficult because of globalization, multi–generational workforce, dependency on
technology, unethical behaviors and practices." (Kaifi,2013,pg.217). In this paper I will talk about
the three generations that we have had over the past sixty years – the Baby Boomer Generation,
Generation X and the current Generation Y, known as Millennials. This rich mix of generations in
the workforce can be attributed primarily to labor shortages experienced in many industries and the
rising average age of retirement.
First, let us talk about Baby Boomers. It is not unusual for Baby Boomers (born between 1946 and
1964) like to be in control. Moreover, it is understandable why because they have years of
experience. Baby Boomers attempt to develop a spirit of friendship with team members whose on–
the–job experience is very small. Members of the Baby Boom Generation tend to have a strong
work ethic, good communication skills, and emotional maturity. "The Baby Boomers are also one of
the most educated generations."(Colquitt, Lepine, &Wesson,2011,p.85) Boomers continue to hold
most of the power and control. Trained as thinkers, they will continue to have surprising influence
on the workplace for at least another two decades and this is why it is important to balance their

This Paper Will Describe The Sociocultural And Demographic
This paper will describe the sociocultural and demographic trends of grocery retailing. The
sociocultural and demographic trends are a part of the external environmental analysis of a company
or industry. One popular trend in the sociocultural environment of grocery retailing is the trend of
becoming healthier and wanting grocery stores to offer organic and fresh foods rather than
processed foods. The demographic trend will focus on how grocery retailers market to different age
groups in the United States, as well as around the world. Grocery retailers around the world can take
into consideration these two trends and work towards a better understanding of what their
consumers want and desire. General Environmental ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One trend that seems to come to mind when talking about grocery retailing in a sociocultural sense
is the trend of offering fresh and organic items in supermarkets as well as in local grocery stores.
The everyday consumer is starting to realize that being healthy is not entirely about working out, but
it is also about what kinds of food you put into your body. Therefore, people in today's day and time,
will do whatever it takes to make sure they are their healthiest, and that they look the best.
According to the article, "Consumers Want Healthy Foods–And They Will Pay More for Them,"
about 88% of consumers are willing to pay the higher prices for the fresh and organic foods that
grocery stores supply (Gagliardi, 2015). This could be because the health fad that has presented
itself today is much stronger than those in years past. According to an article that was published by
the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, many grocers are finding that customers are
changing their preferences about their food, and are now wanting fresh foods and organic foods in
their local supermarkets. This paired with increasing transportation costs are causing grocers to
rethink the ideas and processes of large centralized distribution centers (Ernst & Woods, 2012).
Demographic Forces A second general external environment is the demographic force. This force
includes different things such as age, race, gender, and social class (Hill, Schilling, Jones,

Television As A Dominant Theme On Mass Sitcoms
"Friends" is an American television sitcom, which was remembered as one of the most in the
television history. It marked a change in American culture and also stood out that a culture where the
image of youth has become dominant. The prior sitcoms were aiming to focus on the live of nuclear
families that father and mother were the center and knew the best, which represented the generation
of Baby Boomer. In contrast, "Friends" centered on the characters' own lives with angst, ambition,
fluid notion of family, and youth culture. It was considered a dominant theme on mass sitcoms,
which reflected a mainstream trend in the society. A generation X represented that the young people
would not be better of than its parents.
As society developed rapidly, mass media became integrated into the American household.
Television was the most significant invention in the 1950s, sharping American political life and
creating a new advertising method of advertising (Out of Many p.725). Television became a crucial
tool for advertising presidential candidates. The 1960 election campaign featured the first–ever
televised presidential debates between John F. Kennedy and Richard M. Nixon. There were about
eighty–five million audiences who watched these debates, demonstrating the sweeping influence of
television. In the 1950s, only about nine percent of Americans had a television. However,
approximately 90 percent of American households owned a television. The presence of a television

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Baby Dubies
Many moms normally choose to give their babies dummies as they help to soothe them. Baby
dummy is also known as a baby pacifier. It is an effective nipple that is made from rubber, plastic or
silicone. Some of the features of a baby dummy include: a teat, handle and a shield. The shield is
large enough so that the child does not place the whole thing in his or her mouth. This goes a long
way in ensuring that the child does not swallow the dummy or get chocked by the dummy. Most
babies are soothed by the action of sucking. You will realize that your baby needs to suck on
something for comfort when he or she is not feeding. Some babies like sucking dummies when they
wake up. Once he or she gets older, he or she will discover other ways to soothe himself or herself.

Dummies have both advantages and disadvantages. Some of the disadvantages of using a dummy
include: 1. It can result in repeated middle ear infection. Sucking may actually channel bacteria from
your baby's mouth into the narrow tubes between his ears and throat. If your baby uses a dummy a

Selecting A Baby Formula
First time mothers worry about the best way to feed their baby. Frequently, they rely on the advice
of their friends or mother. There are those that are strong advocates for breast feeding, while others
fully support giving the new infant baby formula. Today, a lot of young moms state that breast
feeding is out of the question for them. Therefore, selecting the right baby formula boils down to
more than just a personal choice. It is important to take time to consider the baby's health and
reaction to different methods. Selecting A Baby Formula The new mother should carefully study her
baby and note their reaction to different methods. Don't rely heavily on the advice from friends or
family. What worked for their baby, might not work for yours.

Desiree's Baby Symbolism Essay
Austin Sweat Professor Kristina Holland English 111 Honors 28 September 2014 The story of
"Desiree's Baby" by Kate Chopin is a story of love, mystery, and the hate of the human race. In
order to fully grasp the concepts that the story is trying to show one must understand the use of
symbolism, which is the use of one act or object to represent something else entirely. The story very
clearly uses symbolism to show the reader the darkness of Armond, the purity of Desiree, and the
way that people were being treated at this point in human history. Throughout the story it is fairly
easy to see the use of symbolism to represent the darkness of Armond, which is beautifully blended
with the use of foreshadowing. One of the primary ways that the story ... Show more content on

She uses this a couple of times throughout the story, the first one being the status of the home when
Desiree first arrives. When she gets to the home Chopin uses the ominous feeling of the home as a
symbol for the literal "darkness" of Armond. The home is completely ominous. The story tells us
that the home was surrounded by ominous trees, the roof caving inward, as well as the fact that his
slaves had forgotten how to be happy. The second time that the story uses physical darkness is when
it is talking about how Armand's "... dark, handsome face had not often been disfigured by frowns
since the day he fell in love with her." These are both symbols of the darkness of Armond, in the
first it is showing the reader the darkness of the resident with the physical displeasure of the home.
The second, shows us the physical darkness that Armond that represents the darkness within as well.
Throughout the story there are also symbols that represent the purity of Desiree, beginning with her
name. In the book "What shall we name the baby?" the name Desiree can be found to mean "the
desired". In the story it is very evident that Desiree is one of the most desired people as she is
"...beautiful, and gentle, affectionate, and sincere – the idol of Valmonde." This leads the reader to
believe that she has both physical and internal desirable

Breastfeeding Of The Public Eye

Breastfeeding in the public eye
A mother is one who has endless love for her children. She serves as a protector, a provider, and a
friend to say the least. She is selfless. She makes sacrifices. All in the name of protecting and
providing for what she knows is her most precious gift from God. Many would agree that being a
mother is the hardest but most rewarding job a women will ever have. Hardest because this world
has established many barriers for mothers; logistical, social, and political.
One of the biggest barriers mothers face nowadays is breastfeeding and or pumping in public but
most importantly breastfeeding in public. Aside from being physically exhausting and many would
say an extremely hard task, nowadays mothers also have the pressures of returning to work earlier
and that is causing a lot of stress for mothers. The problem is that in this day in age it's not allowed
in many places, not even considered in some and still a huge disapproval in many work places. My
arguments for this paper are that people aren't aware of their right to breastfeed in public and the
current legislations that allow them to do so freely in their state; this can be the reason why it's just
socially unexpected and or frowned upon. Second, people don't really understand the true benefits of
breastfeeding vs bottle feeding because if they did many people would oppose to feeding a hungry
baby whenever and

Informative Speech On Breastfeeding
Breastfeeding Benefits For Mom And Baby
Attention Device:
According to the World Health Organization, if breastfeeding were scaled up to near universal
levels, about 820,000 child lives would be saved every year. Globally, only 40% of infants under six
months of age are exclusively breastfed.
Tie To The Audience:
You were all babies once, right? Do you know how your parents chose to feed and nourish you? One
major decision that every parent has to face with the arrival of a new baby, is how will they nourish
him or her, breastmilk or formula?

This is because in this perfect amount of milk, there are tons of protein, carbohydrates, probiotics,
healthy fats, and antibodies. All of these and more work together to help the immune system more
easily fight off infections and prevent diseases. Such are ear infections, diabetes, asthma, respiratory
infections and digestive issues. These benefits start from infancy and continue into adulthood.
Main Point 3
Lastly, I'd like to discuss the ways in which a mother benefits from breastfeeding. Did you know,
that she can burn up to 500 calories just by sitting there, relaxing and feeding her little one?
Looking at Women's Health.gov, when breastfeeding, a hormone called oxytocin is released.
Oxytocin aids in shrinking down the uterus to pre pregnancy size and it also reduces uterine
bleeding after birth. Breastfeeding also lowers a woman's risk of breast cancer and ovarian cancer. It
can even reduce the risk of developing osteoporosis, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, high blood
pressure, high cholesterol, and it lessens the severity of postpartum depression.
Conclusion
Now, I would like to remind you that the purpose of my speech was to inform you of the benefits of
breastfeeding that both mom and baby receive.

Baby Boom Research Paper
The end of world–war II marked the beginning of a new era in this country. The baby boom era
began in 1946 and ended in 1964. During this era, 76 million babies were born according to pew

result, the country had to adjust to meet the demands and fulfill its obligations to the citizens.
Though, the boomers were sophisticated and wanted to impose their views on the rest of the society.
Eventually, the country started to experience some changes and the boomers' influence was

The Pros And Cons Of Gut Microbiome Bacteria
One of the most beautiful things that the female human body can do is birth another human . As the
expectant mother waits for her offspring(s) to be born she begins to weigh out her birthing options,
deciding between either a vaginal birth or a surgical delivery by Caesarean section. Though many go
for the natural route and decide to deliver naturally many opt to do cesarean usually by doctors'
orders. This big decision can have a lot of long lasting effects on the child, as a majority of our
needed gut microbiome bacteria is from our mothers during birth. Lets way out the pros and cons of
this life altering decision by talking about the microbes involved in both delivery options. Whilst in

The Millennial Generation
I am not a part of the millennial generation, I was born during the baby boomer's generation. Yet, I
do have a daughter born in the millennial generation. The millennial generation was born in the time
period of 1984– 2000. Now in today's workforce and society the millennial are being looked down
upon for being unmotivated, lazy, and all about themselves.
The challenges of how the young adults in today's society differ from my own generation what very
nicely putten into a sentence done by Hayden Shaw on a TED Talk. "We didn't have the freedom,
choice, or charge to do what the millennial have today" (Shaw, 2016). Which is something that was
bitterly true. The baby boomer generation began in 1946, after War World 2, and ended in 1964.
Living at home with your parents is a huge known stereotype for the millennial, also with quitting
jobs easily and not staying motivated, but this isn't known as an issue for the other generations.
Which is the reason why freedom of choice is the biggest difference between millennial and the
other generations. Going into adulthood as a baby boomer was not easy, as it is today, but we didn't
have many different paths to take. After getting out of highschool the choices were to go to college
or to get a job, even at times trade schools. If you decided to do neither it would result in being
homeless because most parents wouldn't let their children live at home anymore. The early born of
the baby boomer generation would already have children, and

The Intern Analysis
Nancy Meyers is a director, writer, and producer, with lots of famous movies such as Something's
Gotta Give (2003), The Holiday (2006), It's Complicated (2009) to her credit. Her movies are
usually romance comedy like. Of course with her movie The Intern, one would not help but feel it
would follow same romance–comedy style just like its predecessors. Ah ha! You are absolutely
wrong as it doesn't only portray its usual features, but it has been created to correct certain societal
misconceptions on baby boomers and successful women. It talks about a powerful and successful
woman who finds it quite difficult handling her professional life and family at the same time, it also
tries to correct certain societal misconceptions on baby boomers. One of its main characters Ben
Whittaker (who is played by Robert DeNiro) a 70 year old baby boomer, plays an exceptional rule
in this movie to demonstrate the need to remain humble and kind to society despite its
discrimination. As the movie progresses, Ben uses his previous work experiences, ideas and past life
experiences to guide Jules.
Like a demographics whitepaper come to life, The Intern throws two of contemporary America's
biggest social forces against one another: rapidly retiring boomers, in the form of 70–year–old intern
Robert De Niro who plays the role of Ben, and tech–savvy, in the form of his harried, early–30s
boss Anne Hathaway (Jules). Ben is retired, he's widow, he's been trying to fill his days with a

Mothers who are thinking of breastfeeding may feel that they are being judged when they feed their
baby in public because some people think that it is not appropriate for mothers to breastfeed in
public. According to Yimyam and Hanpa (2013), "In order to promote breastfeeding practices
among employed mothers, workplace interventions must be designed using multiple levels of
influence including employee, employer and workplace." In order for a new mom to feel
comfortable breastfeeding, she needs to feel comfortable everywhere she goes especially her
workplace. The employers should allow the breastfeeding employee to take breaks when needing to
pump and should provide a fridge so they can store the milk somewhere safe. The workplace should
also have somewhere clean and private for the woman to go to pump her milk. Also if the employer
makes it known to the whole company that they support having breastfeeding zones then all of the
other employees will be more accepting to it. This will allow the breastfeeding employee to feel
more comfortable and will most likely allow her to breastfeed longer. Changing how the workplace

Parentese Parentese
It is always exciting for every parent to have babies. It means extra company, extra fun, and extra
love. The company part might be a bit of a challenge, as we know that all babies are not exactly
born with the ability to speak right off the bat. Parents have since then learned to adjust to this
language barrier by speaking to babies in this babble kind of manner that experts have even pegged
as "Parentese."
Parentese is, in its simplest sense described by ParentingPassage.com, a way where parents over
exaggerate words to babies, often also heightening pitch and even throwing in a few goofy facial
expressions to attract even more attention. Along with their grabbed attention is how they slowly
understand social cues.
Talking to your babies, Parentese or what, is a way to start your baby's transition from little babbles
to actual words. It is also quite useful when it comes to improving a parent's bond with their child.
Some parents just have this instinctive drive to go ahead into baby talk, especially mothers.
Research on this subject was done by Professor Jenny Saffran, who teaches psychology at the
University of Wisconsin.
Saffran explained, "We've known for a long time that adults change the way they speak when they
are addressing babies.
"They speak more slowly, use shorter sentences, talk at a higher pitch and swoop their pitch up and
down more often than when they are speaking to other adults."

Informative Essay On Baby Formula
As a new parent you probably have so many questions about baby formula. One of the biggest
questions most often asked by parents about formula is; what are the types of formula are safe for
my baby to use? Well, there are many types of formulas on the market, and finding the right one for
your baby should not be that difficult. However, when you do decide on one particular formula, it is
best to stick to it, even if you have the urge to switch. At the first sign of gas, spitting up, or colic
most parents think it is diet related. Most of the time, it is usually just your little one's tummy still
trying to mature and regulate itself. Five of the most common used formulas for babies in their first
stages of life are "cow's–milk–based formula", "lactose–free", "soy–based," "extensively hydrolyzed

The good news about the milk is that it has been altered so that it is easier for your little one to

babies just cannot handle the sugar that is naturally found in milk. It is rare but it does happen from

great for little ones with allergic reactions to the protein in cow's milk. Most babies who are allergic

A Research Study On Nursing Practice
Nursing practice is always evolving as new studies and new findings are discovered. As practicing
nurses, it becomes our job to stay up to date with these findings and effectively implement them into
our daily practice in efforts to enhance the quality of care our patients receive and to provide them
with the best possible outcomes. Many nursing practices are implemented into daily care only after
research studies have been conducted. The evidence provided from these studies helps the
population make informed choices and allows nurses to recommend practices that are most
beneficial to the patient.
One such debate is still very common and includes new mothers and their decision to breastfeed or
formula feed their infant. Many opinions have been thrown around when it comes to this debate,
especially in regards to low birth weight babies who are admitted to the NICU after birth. When it
comes to making life–altering decisions like steady weight gain in neonates, it is important that
nurses are able to properly inform the mothers of the most effective method of nourishing their
infant. Breastfeeding helps the neonate bond with the mother and more readily absorb calcium and
iron, as well as leukocytes which can only be found in breastmilk; whereas formula feeding provides
adequate nutrition but is lacking in those nutrients.

weight gain in Low Birth Weight NICU Patients?

The best part about this is that anyone can use this approach, regardless of education or vocabulary

How Can Children Learn To Read?
Can babies learn to read fluently before they reach school age? This is the question that most new–

Donny Jones Research Paper

  • 1. Donny Jones Research Paper The baby boomer generations started in 1943–1960 after world war two and the traditionalist felt safe they were able to have more babies than any other generation yet. They had so many newborn babies that a baby was born every nineteen seconds. This was the first time that mothers where able to enjoy their children and not have to worry about whether or not they could support them or that war would get in the way of a good living. There is also the idea that the baby boom was the result of the economy wanting to build up the number of its people so that they would be prepared for any war to come (Zemke, 2000). Let me introduce you to my uncle Donny Jones. He was born on June 10th 1952 in Summerset Kentucky. He was the first born and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He always enjoyed hearing about all of the festivals and movements but was not a part of any of it until he graduated from High school. During high school he started working for the rail road and worked for the rail road for over twenty years. Once he left the railroad he started his own construction company ever since. One thing with Donny you will find out right away is hid passion for God, work and his opinions about things. Donny has had over six life threatening event like heart attacks, open heart surgery and strokes, but at the age of 63 he does not and will not stop working. He has a passion for food that will also never go away even if it is bad for his heart. Working and food are some of the things that make Donny happy so this is where I can see the Baby Boomer generation in him and how he is all about what feels good at the time. Donny was in Tennessee during the riots and sit–ins, I am not sure what he was doing there at the time, because he would not talk much about it. He has an intensity about him when he thinks a certain way. He is known for the passion behind his stories and the passion behind what he believes in. He is a great teacher and will help you with anything you might not understand, but he is also a part of the Boomers in the way he does not do well with confrontation or standing up against his views (Zemke, ... • 3. Begin Before Birth Research "We have known for a long time that how we turn out depends on both our genes and our environment. What we now realize is that the influence of the environment begins in the womb, and how the mother feels during pregnancy can change this environment and can have a lasting effect on the development of her child." (Karraa, W. (2012, September 28). Begin Before Birth; Reproductive Researchers Reach Wide Audiences with New Interactive Website. In Science and Sensbility. But when depression, anxiety and low self–esteem is baseline for a mother...that baby is likely to be experiencing the same thing. What can I do, as a pregnant mother, to ensure that my mental health is in the best state in can be? It has really been a lesson in learning to let things go and ask myself how important is this? I am finding that this is good practice for me and hopefully I will continue it after pregnancy. I am using physical activity, if endorphins make me happy...they should make baby happy. I am learning and implementing breathing and grounding techniques to reduce anxiety and racing thoughts. I have learned with my therapist that my body is pretty used to constantly being in a state of high alert. I do not want to pass this to my baby. Education...simply learning about these factors has influenced greater awareness and desire to improve my quality of living for my unborn baby, but also for myself. These factors not only influence my unborn baby...but as we learned throughout the class the caregiver's, in this case my, state of being also impact the ability to affect secure attachment with a new infant. Basically, we know that these changes are healthy changes but starting them early in pregnancy may very well increase the overall health of my baby. "Being aware of your unborn baby at all times is the first stage in bonding with her and making sure you have a good relationship in the future." (Stoppard, M. (2008). • 5. Babies Pacifiers Babies can get fussy, especially in their younger years. Fortunately for parents, the pacifiers can well, pacify them. However, despite this very good perk, it seems that not everyone agrees on the benefits of getting one for their little tyke. Here are three things to keep in mind why it's completely okay to make use of these quirky little inventions: 1) Pacifiers may reduce the use of SIDS or Sudden Infant Death Syndromes, as the periodic movement of your baby's mouth while sucking keeps him in a lighter state of sleep, so there is less of a chance that he will stop breathing," says Parents advisor Jennifer Shu. 2 Nuk Natural Shape Orthodontic Pacifiers 0–6 Mo Silicone GIRL Baby Talk Design https://t.co/1XK1Q34M4p pic.twitter.com/jJ4k6aeasd ... A study from the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland found that the percentage of babies who exclusively breastfed dropped after pacifiers were dropped from the Mother–Baby unit, and mothers ended up supplementing them with formula. As lactation consultant Freda Rosenfeld noted, there is nothing wrong with a newborn using a pacifier as long as the baby is gaining weight and as long as it has been fed. Sweeteners put on baby bottles and pacifiers can be harmful. A child's mouth is malleable enough so that whatever changes a pacifier can cause, can still be corrected. For most, there is no harm in the first two years. However, take note that a child should use the paci less and less as they get older. For instance, children who use the pacifier into toddlerhood can lead to malocclusion, where their teeth don't align properly. • 7. The Ideal And The Real Of Breast-Feed In this article, "The Ideal and the Real of Breast–Feeding" by Jane E. Brody, Brody brings some good points to light. The campaign to exclusively breastfeed for the first six months in today's society is becoming increasingly prevalent by health care providers, lactation consultants, and other organizations. Brody's notable outlook on breastfeeding stems from her own personal experiences with her twin boys. The ever increasing numbers of reasons one should breastfeed and how important it is for the health of the child to continue to grow. As the textbook, "How Children Develop" by Robert Siegler, shows it is a natural life source. Mammals use breast milk as a source of nutrition for their young. Humans have become more reliant on formula feeding. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Aside from Brody's personal point of view, there is no real talk to the reality of the time and energy spent by mom to strictly feeding a baby by breast. How can we create a study of full benefits to breastfeeding? What are the true differences between a formula fed and a breastfed baby? How can we go about better education to the mothers who are potentially choosing to breastfeed? How do we make moms feel comfortable and know that it is not their fault if they are unable to breastfeed? New moms need a lot support, especially in the first few months after the baby is born. They should not feel that they are doing something wrong by not being able to feed baby. The support for these women should stem from every branch they have, such as doctors, family members, and any educational tool they see fit to use. Programs like WIC, lactation consultants, and the La Letche League should provide better support for moms who chose that breastfeeding may not be suited for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

(Sad face with not wanting to make contact with anybody) Psychiatrist – That's totally fine, come and sit down so what do you want to chat about? (Approaching personality / despite Larsen's poor attitude still portrays a good attitude towards him) Larsen – That stupid company Raecorp decided to fire me after my two hard years of work. (Angry tone) Psychiatrist – Ohh tell me more about where you worked and were you acknowledged for what you did? Larsen – I was one of the best research scientists in the company and was working on a huge project, for which I was put into a lot of pressure by my stupid idiot boss. He would have not even acknowledged my work and kept piling up more and more work for me and setting up some stupid deadlines that were impossible to reach. (Loud angry tone and hint of complaining, sits up and uses hand gestures to reflect anger) Psychiatrist – Did that make you angry or was it tough to handle the situations? (Curious tone, his hand on the chin) Larsen – Yea I could handle the pressure quite desirably but you know I am a human too I need a break as well. Sometimes I was busy that I couldn't see my family for weeks or even months. • 11. Petrel: A Fictional Narrative Beep! Beep! Beep! Mmmm, I groaned "5:50 is way too early for anyone to wake up" I thought as I rolled over to turn off my alarm clock. I blindly slapped it, trying to find the off button, and turning on the radio in the process. "Last night Bill Berton, former player for the Buffalo hockey team was announced dead in a hotel suite." I gasped and sat right up, my eyes wide. Bill was my uncle. I have not seen him in a long time, 3 years, I think, but now he's dead and I'll never see him again. The reporter continued. "His wife found him hanging by a rope tied around his neck when she came out of the bathroom." I sat there, more stunted than ever. I sat there my mind spinning. "Come on, breakfast is ready, waffles won't stay warm forever." ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Where did that come from, I don't hate you?" Another message popped up. "Petrel told me you hate me." Petrel? I thought why would Petrel say that? "Here, this is what Petrel sent me." All you do is talk to your new friends and never talk to us any more, and we have decided that we are done with it and none of us want to be friends with someone who doesn't pay attention to us. I sat there in shock. Petrel was literally my best friend ever. She was that one friend that you relied on more than your family, you could talk about anything with, and there were no secrets. It was true that Kate was paying less attention to us and more to her new friends, but I was happy for her. I couldn't believe that she would say something like that, I glanced back down at my screen. There was a message from Petrel, this time saying " Hey! What's up?" with a smiley face emoji. "Why did you tell Kate I hate her?" I responded. I sat there staring at the screen, no response. Then finally she responded, "Oh" "And..." I pressed. "I needed an excuse" "WHAT! AN EXCUSE FOR ... Although my mind was full of visions of her beating me up when I was little and she was in charge, I gave her a hug anyway and told her that I hoped she would be happy. Why not? She was married and financially independent; in fact, her work was extremely important to her. She even invited me into the delivery room as her second coach. Upon first inspection, the room looked nothing like the pea green tiled delivery rooms so often depicted on television. The floors, although scuffed and well used, were hardwood and the walls were lined in soft shades of pink and blue in an attempt to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I finally broke down and timidly asked her why she was so composed, almost afraid that in asking I might jinx it. She quickly informed me, "Because I am ready to get this damn thing out of my stomach. You try carrying around a 27 pound deformity for nine months, and the momentary pain becomes nothing. Anything to get this pregnancy over with." I laughed to myself as I watched her lying there bitching because she was hungry. I could just see her struggling to squeeze her swollen feet into heels as she had so many times in the previous nine months, fussing the whole time about how it seemed so ridiculous that her feet were involved in the situation. "My feet weren't involved in the conception; why the hell are they a part of it now? Every part of me is messed up. Why couldn't God just leave my feet the hell alone," she would explain to anyone who would listen. Usually it was her husband. He would sit solemnly and listen to her go off on tangents, about how man has evolved for thousands of years, but the barbaric art of pregnancy has remained unchanged almost as if he thought it was his penance for putting her in such a predicament. • 15. Do What You Eat Affect Your Breastfed Baby? What affects the breast milk and how? Do what you eat affect your breastfed baby? What affects the content of your breast milk? When I started breastfeeding my baby, a lot of these questions troubled me. I had an easy breastfeeding experience, my baby was not difficult and had a voracious appetite from the start. But even after this, a lot of times he would react differently after I fed him, he would sometimes spat up a lot or have a colored stool. If you have any doubts regarding breastfeeding or see unusual behavior in your baby, the first thing to do is talk to the doctor about it. Pregnant women pay careful attention to their diet, since everything they eat or drink somehow find its way to the baby. Baby's fuss and uneasiness after being breastfed make us believe that all that you eat and drink directly has a correlation with the baby. But before stopping breastfeeding or eating a particular ingredient, make sure that there is no other reason for baby's discomfort. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is important for the mother to focus on having a complete balanced diet, but it is also important to know how some foods, the herbs etc. can affect breastfeeding. Also, it is essential to note that poor diet is more likely to affect the mother than the child. Some of the major points can be categorized as follows: Food While it is always advised to carefully monitor what you eat, it is rarely the case when food has become problematic for breastfeeding. • 17. The Generation Of Generation And Student Loan Debt Generation X faces many issues unique to their generation, technology was advancing, and computer were becoming more affordable and widespread. They faced both social and ecological issues, with advances in medicine that caused the generation before them to live longer, and being the one of the first generations to be effected by student loan debt. Generation Xers are often known for their high level of skepticism and their "what do I get out of this" attitudes. They are considered to be the first generation of "latchkey" kids, or kids without much boundaries. During the 60's and 70's divorce rates were at an all–time high, so many of the children of this generation were exposed to large amounts of divorce (Schroer). Which might explain for the high levels of skepticism and freedom they had. It seemed they also didn't care much for politics sense they had the lowest voting participant rate of any other generation. Generation Xers are often referred to as the Baby Bust generation. They were born 1965– 1976, now many Gen Xers find themselves having large amounts of responsibility. Having to take care of the now retiring Baby Boomer generation and the still young Millennia Generation. At this point they have all reached middle age and most are at the height of their professional careers. Gen Xers are the least represented generation, they are often looked over in regards to marketing and statistics. They are the demographic bridge between the more conservative Baby Boomers ... • 19. How Babies Talks by Roberta Michnick Golink and Kathy... How Babies Talk is a book written by Roberta Michnick Golinkoff and Kathy Hirsh–Pasek. The book discusses how babies acquire language throughout various stages (The first three years of life) of their infant life. The chapter I chose to elaborate on was chapter 7, which outlines language and grammar between the ages of twenty–four to thirty–six months. Chapter 7 begins with the ways children develop more sophisticated grammar and vocabulary. Golinkoff states that the usage of "the" "–ing" "–s" "–ed" and "and" illustrates the glue of sentence structure and particles. The examples given in the text iterate that without these simple words and endings, sentences used by children would not make sense. The main point of this chapter is how children use questions to learn how to communicate properly. The single word question "Why?" has much to do with how a child learns proper communication. Golinkoff's idea of children learning from asking why is a thought that I agree with. As a child my parents often told me to ask why because that is how you learn new things. To this day, I still follow the advice of my parents; the use of why allows me to further my knowledge of material that I previously did not know. In relation to Golinkoff's idea about children learning from asking why seems rather feasible as asking why in other aspects of life helps individuals learn more. The idea also relates to what was discussed in lecture that children often repeat (in the sense what ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay On Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, Pediatric Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) happens when acid from the stomach flows up into the tube that connects the mouth and stomach (esophagus). Some babies have a condition called gastroesophageal reflux. This is different than GERD. This causes your baby to spit up breast milk, formula, or food shortly after a feeding. • 26. The Baby Boomers Generation There are many challenges facing managers and leaders in current workforce. The variety of cultures, races and generations in today's environment is making work harder. "Managing will also get even more difficult because of globalization, multi–generational workforce, dependency on technology, unethical behaviors and practices." (Kaifi,2013,pg.217). In this paper I will talk about the three generations that we have had over the past sixty years – the Baby Boomer Generation, Generation X and the current Generation Y, known as Millennials. This rich mix of generations in the workforce can be attributed primarily to labor shortages experienced in many industries and the rising average age of retirement. First, let us talk about Baby Boomers. It is not unusual for Baby Boomers (born between 1946 and 1964) like to be in control. Moreover, it is understandable why because they have years of experience. Baby Boomers attempt to develop a spirit of friendship with team members whose on– the–job experience is very small. Members of the Baby Boom Generation tend to have a strong work ethic, good communication skills, and emotional maturity. "The Baby Boomers are also one of the most educated generations."(Colquitt, Lepine, &Wesson,2011,p.85) Boomers continue to hold most of the power and control. Trained as thinkers, they will continue to have surprising influence on the workplace for at least another two decades and this is why it is important to balance their input by clearly ... One popular trend in the sociocultural environment of grocery retailing is the trend of becoming healthier and wanting grocery stores to offer organic and fresh foods rather than processed foods. The demographic trend will focus on how grocery retailers market to different age groups in the United States, as well as around the world. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One trend that seems to come to mind when talking about grocery retailing in a sociocultural sense is the trend of offering fresh and organic items in supermarkets as well as in local grocery stores. The everyday consumer is starting to realize that being healthy is not entirely about working out, but it is also about what kinds of food you put into your body. Therefore, people in today's day and time, will do whatever it takes to make sure they are their healthiest, and that they look the best. According to the article, "Consumers Want Healthy Foods–And They Will Pay More for Them," about 88% of consumers are willing to pay the higher prices for the fresh and organic foods that grocery stores supply (Gagliardi, 2015). This could be because the health fad that has presented itself today is much stronger than those in years past. According to an article that was published by the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, many grocers are finding that customers are changing their preferences about their food, and are now wanting fresh foods and organic foods in their local supermarkets. This paired with increasing transportation costs are causing grocers to rethink the ideas and processes of large centralized distribution centers (Ernst & Woods, 2012). Demographic Forces A second general external environment is the demographic force. This force includes different things such as age, race, gender, and social class (Hill, Schilling, Jones, ... It is an effective nipple that is made from rubber, plastic or silicone. Some of the features of a baby dummy include: a teat, handle and a shield. The shield is large enough so that the child does not place the whole thing in his or her mouth. This goes a long way in ensuring that the child does not swallow the dummy or get chocked by the dummy. Most babies are soothed by the action of sucking. Desiree's Baby Symbolism Essay Austin Sweat Professor Kristina Holland English 111 Honors 28 September 2014 The story of "Desiree's Baby" by Kate Chopin is a story of love, mystery, and the hate of the human race. In order to fully grasp the concepts that the story is trying to show one must understand the use of symbolism, which is the use of one act or object to represent something else entirely. The story very clearly uses symbolism to show the reader the darkness of Armond, the purity of Desiree, and the way that people were being treated at this point in human history. Throughout the story it is fairly easy to see the use of symbolism to represent the darkness of Armond, which is beautifully blended with the use of foreshadowing. One of the primary ways that the story ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She uses this a couple of times throughout the story, the first one being the status of the home when Desiree first arrives. When she gets to the home Chopin uses the ominous feeling of the home as a symbol for the literal "darkness" of Armond. The home is completely ominous. The story tells us that the home was surrounded by ominous trees, the roof caving inward, as well as the fact that his slaves had forgotten how to be happy. The second time that the story uses physical darkness is when it is talking about how Armand's "... dark, handsome face had not often been disfigured by frowns since the day he fell in love with her." These are both symbols of the darkness of Armond, in the first it is showing the reader the darkness of the resident with the physical displeasure of the home. The second, shows us the physical darkness that Armond that represents the darkness within as well. Throughout the story there are also symbols that represent the purity of Desiree, beginning with her name. In the book "What shall we name the baby?" the name Desiree can be found to mean "the desired". In the story it is very evident that Desiree is one of the most desired people as she is "...beautiful, and gentle, affectionate, and sincere – the idol of Valmonde." • 42. Breastfeeding Of The Public Eye Ana Melchor Professor McKinley English I: Online 15 December 2014 Breastfeeding in the public eye A mother is one who has endless love for her children. She serves as a protector, a provider, and a friend to say the least. She is selfless. She makes sacrifices. All in the name of protecting and providing for what she knows is her most precious gift from God. Many would agree that being a mother is the hardest but most rewarding job a women will ever have. Hardest because this world has established many barriers for mothers; logistical, social, and political. One of the biggest barriers mothers face nowadays is breastfeeding and or pumping in public but most importantly breastfeeding in public. Aside from being physically exhausting and many would say an extremely hard task, nowadays mothers also have the pressures of returning to work earlier and that is causing a lot of stress for mothers. The problem is that in this day in age it's not allowed in many places, not even considered in some and still a huge disapproval in many work places. My arguments for this paper are that people aren't aware of their right to breastfeed in public and the current legislations that allow them to do so freely in their state; this can be the reason why it's just socially unexpected and or frowned upon. Second, people don't really understand the true benefits of breastfeeding vs bottle feeding because if they did many people would oppose to feeding a hungry baby whenever and ... Main Point 3 Lastly, I'd like to discuss the ways in which a mother benefits from breastfeeding. Did you know, that she can burn up to 500 calories just by sitting there, relaxing and feeding her little one? Looking at Women's Health.gov, when breastfeeding, a hormone called oxytocin is released. Oxytocin aids in shrinking down the uterus to pre pregnancy size and it also reduces uterine bleeding after birth. Breastfeeding also lowers a woman's risk of breast cancer and ovarian cancer. It can even reduce the risk of developing osteoporosis, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and it lessens the severity of postpartum depression. Conclusion Now, I would like to remind you that the purpose of my speech was to inform you of the benefits of breastfeeding that both mom and baby receive.

The millennial generation was born in the time period of 1984– 2000. Now in today's workforce and society the millennial are being looked down upon for being unmotivated, lazy, and all about themselves. The challenges of how the young adults in today's society differ from my own generation what very nicely putten into a sentence done by Hayden Shaw on a TED Talk. "We didn't have the freedom, choice, or charge to do what the millennial have today" (Shaw, 2016). Which is something that was bitterly true. The baby boomer generation began in 1946, after War World 2, and ended in 1964. Living at home with your parents is a huge known stereotype for the millennial, also with quitting jobs easily and not staying motivated, but this isn't known as an issue for the other generations. Which is the reason why freedom of choice is the biggest difference between millennial and the other generations. After getting out of highschool the choices were to go to college or to get a job, even at times trade schools. • 59. Parentese Parentese It is always exciting for every parent to have babies. It means extra company, extra fun, and extra love. The company part might be a bit of a challenge, as we know that all babies are not exactly born with the ability to speak right off the bat. Parents have since then learned to adjust to this language barrier by speaking to babies in this babble kind of manner that experts have even pegged as "Parentese." Parentese is, in its simplest sense described by ParentingPassage.com, a way where parents over exaggerate words to babies, often also heightening pitch and even throwing in a few goofy facial expressions to attract even more attention. Along with their grabbed attention is how they slowly understand social cues. Talking to your babies, Parentese or what, is a way to start your baby's transition from little babbles to actual words. It is also quite useful when it comes to improving a parent's bond with their child. Some parents just have this instinctive drive to go ahead into baby talk, especially mothers. Research on this subject was done by Professor Jenny Saffran, who teaches psychology at the University of Wisconsin. Saffran explained, "We've known for a long time that adults change the way they speak when they are addressing babies. "They speak more slowly, use shorter sentences, talk at a higher pitch and swoop their pitch up and down more often than when they are speaking to other adults." • 63. A Research Study On Nursing Practice Nursing practice is always evolving as new studies and new findings are discovered. As practicing nurses, it becomes our job to stay up to date with these findings and effectively implement them into our daily practice in efforts to enhance the quality of care our patients receive and to provide them with the best possible outcomes. Many nursing practices are implemented into daily care only after research studies have been conducted. The evidence provided from these studies helps the population make informed choices and allows nurses to recommend practices that are most beneficial to the patient. One such debate is still very common and includes new mothers and their decision to breastfeed or formula feed their infant. Many opinions have been thrown around when it comes to this debate, especially in regards to low birth weight babies who are admitted to the NICU after birth. When it comes to making life–altering decisions like steady weight gain in neonates, it is important that nurses are able to properly inform the mothers of the most effective method of nourishing their infant. Breastfeeding helps the neonate bond with the mother and more readily absorb calcium and iron, as well as leukocytes which can only be found in breastmilk; whereas formula feeding provides adequate nutrition but is lacking in those nutrients. Research Question: Is the use of breast–feeding as opposed to formula feeding more effective for weight gain in Low Birth Weight NICU Patients? P: Pre–Term ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
