Each group proceeds around the course as long as there is capacity at the next hole. For example, on hole #3 there is a capacity of 2 and on the next
hole, #4, there is a capacity of one. Therefore the group that is first in the queue on hole #3 cannot advance onto hole #4 if there is a group already there.

For years, golf has been one of the oldest and most traditional sports. As the equipment and golf courses have changed, the etiquette and rules have
not. In golf, etiquette has been a major part of the game. Staying quiet on the course and repairing divots are a few examples of proper formality.
Common rules include teeing the ball between the tee markers and marking your ball on the green. Along with these guidelines, there are rules that are
controversial and seem unfair to golfers.
Golf has changed a lot since it first started in 1297, where a leather ball was hit into a hole and the fewest hits won. The golf clubs and balls have
changed significantly and the number of options has increased as well. They have gone from wood drivers to drivers made of complex blends of
elements that make the ball fly higher and farther. Since the golf clubs and balls have all been improved, it's a surprise that some of the rules haven't
been changed to make the game more fair.
As a college golfer, I play the game and encounter situations where the rules can seem unfair and frustrating. The same goes with all other golfers,
they have been in the same situations where the game punishes you for hitting a good shot. I've realized that we don't have a voice in changing the
rules in the game of golf. By inquiring about the tradition of golf, I discovered that the game isn't going to have new rules ever. Sometimes we get

This summer I competed at the 2016 PDGA Amateur and Junior Disc Golf World Championships. From planning, to competing the whole experience

On the day of the tournament I felt confident and well prepared stepping onto the tee, but I shanked my first drive 10 feet straight into the bushes. I

For professionals, that already have their tour card, they can enter into this tournament, along with either being on the top 20 in tournament winnings,
top 50 on the money list/Rolex Rankings, or again have a sponsorship. So, in my dreams I could possibly qualify and participate in this tournament one

There are around 160 players that qualify for this tournament and play on Thursday and Friday, but to play for the weekend, they have to make the
cut. To make the cut, the players have to shoot four over par, which makes for high competition to make the cut. This would leave around 70 ladies that

Golf is a Sport For the first time since 1904, golf will be returning to the 2016 Olympics in Rio (Shipnuck). Golf is a very complicated sport. It is a
mental game along with a physical one. The many aspects of golf are very similar to other sports. Golf is a sport because it has similar components to
other sports such as strategizing how you play, the equipment used, and the physical strength and endurance required. The first component is
strategizing how you play. Knowing the correct club to use in each situation on the golf course is a big factor of strategizing. Before you pick
your club you must visualize the ball and see it in its flight path, know the winds speed and direction, the relation of the ball to the target, and lastly
if your lie is good or bad (Herrfeldt). The second factor of strategizing is being completely aware of your surroundings. The yardages for each hole
are marked on the scorecard or various object throughout the hole (Kelley). Knowing the distance to the hole will allow you to pick the right club
to hit the perfect shot. Some factors to consider are wind and your lie. If you are hitting into a strong wind you will need to take a longer distance
club, but if you are hitting in the same direction as the wind a shorter club is ideal (Herrfeldt). Another factor in strategizing how you play is to know
which swing to take. Short, or softer, swings will not allow the ball to travel as far as hard,

NOT for nothing did the Beach Boys produce all that wonderful music in the 1960s. If you have ever visited California, you will realise pretty

As the Disc Flies
Fog fills the air; it's early morning and I still cannot believe I woke up this early. I align myself on the concrete tee. I take three steps forward and
launch the small rubber disc. It was a bad throw. My friends burst into laughter as I watch as the disc veer off course and come to a crashing halt in
a thicket of trees just ten feet from the tee. That foggy morning was back in July and was the first time I had ever played a game of disc golf. Since that
first game I have practiced constantly, revising my throwing form and greatly improving my disc golf abilities. Similar to my improvement in disc

As Mitch threw his shot, I made sure to take mental notes of how he threw his disc. This was my first time playing this game and it isn't the same as

My Experience In My Life
It was the beginning of summer after my seventh grade year. The sun was blazing, the birds were chirping, and I felt an overwhelming sense of
freedom. Life seemed great, until the next day when I was bored out of my mind and had nothing to do. During middle school, I followed my
brother, Isaac, around like a mime. Whatever he did I would aspire to do the same. This was no different when, bored out of my mind, I found out
my brother was going to go disc golfing with the neighbor friends. When Isaac asked me if I wanted to come with, I jumped up, ran to my bike, and
told him I was ready whenever he was. I had never heard of what "disc golf" was, but I knew that since my brother was doing it, it was cool! So I

First the golfer might produce a swing that is considered an "open to open" swing path. This occurs when the club face starts out to the right of the
target line and never leaves that position. The other swing the player could produce is a "square to open" swing path. This is when the club face lines

This step requires learning the rules. The rules of Ultimate Frisbee can be best described as a mix of soccer and football. An Ultimate frisbee field
is 100 yards long by 40 yards wide, with fifteen yards of either end of the length of the field being designated as the endzones. To start, each team
sends seven players to the front of each endzone and one team will throw the frisbee off to the other team in what is called a "pull". This can be
