Professional Self-Evaluation
The document I chose to design is my resume. The reason as to why I chose this particular
document is because I felt my resume was very appealing. My resume was three pages and did not
have good use of white space. Although it had a very professional look to it, my resume didn't match
my style. Also, it was a word template and I wanted it to have a reflection on my professional self.
The purpose of the document is for potential employers to see my previous experience, skills, and
accomplishments. The first thing I decided to change around was the header. My original header had
a lighter blue boarder on the top of the page. I changed this to a purple line where this boarder was
at the header and also added one to the footer to make it professional

The Strengths Of Self-Evaluation In Writing
One of the advantages of doing a self–evaluation of my own essay is to become more aware of how
other people perceive you as a writer. I became more aware of my strengths and my weaknesses
concerning my writing style. Everyone has a different sense of writing. Having my peers and
instructor review my essay helped point of some of the strengths as well as weaknesses I have.
I was very nervous and a bit intimidated when I wrote my writing experience essay. Once I found
out I had to write a self–evaluation essay, and in a sense grading my own writing skills, I was
extremely nervous! It seemed silly to think that I had to evaluate myself based on what I had
personally written.
Using the 6+1 writing rubric I was given was extremely helpful in grading my essay about my first
writing experience. For each of the five categories that will be graded, we can receive between one
and five points per category.
The categories were focus, organization, details/support, sentence fluency, and conventions. There
are five levels of grading. The levels of grading are mastery, exceeds expectations, meets
expectations, approaches expectations and below expectations.
The first skill I had to grade myself on was focus. I gave myself three points for this area. I often
strayed from my main idea of my essay. This has been a problem for me in the past with writing. My
intention was to keep the reader focused on my goals. I talked about my goals a lot in the essay, but
steered away from my goals and I talked about my family. When I was talking about my goals, I
should have focused on that more, instead of my family.
The second skill was organization. I gave myself four points for this area. I had a very strong
opening. "I didn't have much experience with writing until the summer semester at Southside
Community College. I enrolled in SDV 100, which is College Success Skills. When the class began
I realized that I would be writing an essay each week for this class, this made me very nervous." I
have always loved writing, when I was younger I always wanted to be an English teacher, just like
my grandmother. I was nervous knowing that I needed to live up to my parent's expectations and
English has always been a strong area for my family.

Reflection Of A Self-Evaluation On Your True Self
This course has changed me in so many ways over the past semester, ways as far as my
procrastination and how it's not good to procrastinate, and me not feeling embarrassed to actually
talk about that and say that out loud because I wasn't the only one in class to raise my hand in doing
things at a pace and my time and not always on time. In this course I have learned so much about
myself as well the other people in the classroom in different ways, more so than I ever thought I
would, and with this knowledge comes a great responsibility. This class has basically taught me a
self–evaluation on myself, now I know that sounds weird and unusual of how you can do a self–
evaluation on your true self, because you are yourself but when this class first started I only
expected to learn the very basics of psychology like the different approaches of psychology like
behaviorism, and humanism. Not only did I learn about the essentials of psychology, but I also
learned a great deal about myself and my past life experiences. This class has forced me to look
deep within myself and confront my psychological demons as far as what am I doing wrong within
myself and what do I need to work to get better at.
I also learned that many people within the United States rather if they are us as citizens or not are
still human and that they go through the same psychological problems rather if that's internally, and
externally and don't even know it. We are very smart and clever as human beings and have

Before I went in to the evaluation, I wanted to collect my thoughts about how I thought I had been
performing for the week. I had not received much feedback on how I had been doing and all of it
had been positive. On several occasions, I had been told, "good observation" or, "I was hoping you
would pick up on that". During one instance, an OT was asking me how I would modify a child's
goals based on his progress, and I answered based on my knowledge that I have gathered through
LEND, the OT program and my personal experience. The OT I was speaking with and the two OTs
who overheard were impressed with my response and commented that I was ahead of some of the
other level I students they have had before. Regardless of this positive feedback, ... Show more

After a lot of theory, research and classroom learning, it was great to be in a clinic setting applying
some of the knowledge I have gathered. As I mentioned above, I am going to focus on assessment

I saw in clinic this week, that is just not feasible. These writing skills and familiarity with
assessments will be what I will continue to work on for my next fieldwork

Core Self Evaluations
Ashley Duncan Final Project, Leadership Core self–evaluations are one of my traits. I am good at
determining what I believe in and am typically confident I can achieve that goal. Authenticity is my
biggest trait. My opinions are usually not swayed, however I am always up front and honest about
what I am thinking. I am however articulate in the deliverance of my beliefs, goals, or opinions. I try
to make a point not to offend someone and I enjoy hearing the differences others may have from my
own. I can give unbiased advice to anyone. When I worked at Walmart in high school, we had a
manager that would hold group meetings where he would do all of the talking. He basically would
just tell us where our highest level of shrinkage was and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I am most always more worried about the over–all goal than my own. It is very satisfying to help
others and gain relationships. I am not very competitive but in a group setting I am the opposite. I
will always finish my own task but I have found that helping others achieve their goals usually gives
back good karma. I do think I am a task related or goal oriented person. I am very good at building
relationships while working towards a common goal. I am good at explaining the benefits while
making the work seem less like a job. I typically have a planner or some sort of outline for what we
are doing. I am a participative leader because I have a hard time coming to a conclusion on my own.
I would say I am more of a consensus leader. While I can make a decision, I do like to get everyone
else's opinion. It is important for me to think about what everyone else thinks and while I may not
always agree, I do take it into consideration. I typically use persuasion and credibility to get my
point across. I have found that most people can relate to situational stories. When I am trying to get
someone to see things from my perspective I usually will use examples from my past. I will tell
them of mistakes I have made or things I have done that made me feel

The greatest start to the best speech is a good topic. The topic needs to be modern, up to date,
interesting and fun. All of this is depending on your audience as well, so you wouldn't want to give a
speech on the first phones invented to fifth graders. The topic should appeal to the audience, and
since most of my speeches will be done in my communication class my audience will be current
college students just like myself. This makes it a little easier preparing a speech because I am a
college student as well, so I have a bit of an idea of what may or may not appeal to my audience.
There are many things that I need to consider before giving a speech, things like, how to be fully
prepared with my information, how to not bore my audience to death, ... Show more content on

And being a college student myself I know how easy it is to lose attention on something. So I need
to make sure during my speech to make it interesting and bring a visual aide because I know that,
that may help me share my information better with students who learn better with visual aids as well
as I do. As stated in our Frealeigh and Tuman textbook "If you want audience members to actively
listen to your speech and ignore everything else going on you must motivate them to focus on what
you're saying. By selection supporting materials that appeal to your listeners interest, you sweeten
the odds that they will pay attention to you." So with this I feel that by getting something that most
of my classmates or audience can connect with, will make them feel the need to pay attention to
what I'm saying and actually have their full attention the entire time.
I feel like also learning what my classmate's interests are may help me grab and keep their attention
longer. Learning how to connect my topic to things they may like, for instance sports, famous
people, or politics may help me peek their interest and keep their mind on me and what I am saying

Reflection Paper On Self-Evaluation
Self–evaluation builds on a natural tendency to check out the progress of one's own learning and to
improve. Being a foreign medical graduate, and a stay–at–home mom for the last 17 years, I felt
nervous around my colleagues who are professionals and experts in their fields due to years of
experience that I felt I did not yet have. This paper discusses peer feedback and self–assessment
based on multiple negotiation exercises performed by me during the on–campus visit of summer,
2017. For example, I have realized that it is essential to not only know my opponent, but to also
know myself. This opportunity of self–reflection has allowed me to recognize beneficial methods of
conduct for various negations occurring under various conditions such ... Show more content on

It allowed me to think of a solution that was agreeable to most of my team members and helped us
from getting sued in the Brookside Community Hospital Negotiation exercise. I approach most of
my conversations in this manner with my family at home which helps me in understanding the other
person and my duty and goals that I need to accomplish. Trustworthiness is a good strategy that my
colleagues picked in me and I am proud of it. This is because I am a good listener and my team felt
that their concerns are being heard which allowed them to believe in my proposals. This strategy
helped me in my role as Brook the Chief Legal Counsel, SWE, Sales Manager, and Lennon in
negotiation exercises Fastkin, New Media Web Design and Geben Robotics respectively. My
colleagues have mentioned my ability to look at the whole picture as my strength to which I agree. I
was able to "expand the pie" rather than divide the pie and get to a "yes" that changed the win–lose
game to a win–win scenario where both sides can benefit can benefit more by working on mutual
benefits and try to stay away from false conflicts or illusory effects. I think that zero sum is a
negative perception and it is often possible for people to gain, especially if they collaborate. I often
use this technique at home with my children and spouse. If a negotiation turns to a conflict and
becomes personal, the sense of fair play (or even getting what I need) then goes out of the window. I

Self–Evaluation
Entering COMS 100 I had this alter ego that I would do exceptionally well because I've previously
hosted events and public speaking was one of my strong suit. Even though the majority of the class
took this course the previous semester and had the upper advantage because they knew what to
expect unlike me. After presenting the self–introduce speech I felt that this course would require
more work and dedication than I originally anticipated. Through the 16 weeks of being a part of
COMS 100, I've learned multiple valuable lessons. First and most important, I had to cut off my
ego. I could no longer use the excuse that I use to host silly high school events and say I'm a great
public speaker. After my self–introduce speech, I made it my mission to do well on my
commemorative speech and all these different elements to make my speech one of the best. I put in a
long more effort into my second speech for two reasons; I wanted to show Mrs. J that I was ... Show

own thoughts and opinions. I was restricted from doing any of my own ideas for the informative
speech. I had to show the audience that I was not being basis and I wanted them to believe what I
believed. One of my biggest flaw in the informative speech was that I provided a little too much
information to the audience and in doing that I exceeded my time range. The second flaw I had was
during my speech, there was a lot of distraction in the audience and that threw me off. I was not able
to focus on what I was presentation and that caused me to be a little forgetful and I started to stutter.
I received an end grade of B– which to me was the worst thing imaginable. Rather than being angry
of the fact that I didn't do as well as I hoped, I took those comments and advice and better myself for

Team Description: Anthropology 324 class, took part in creating a documentary during the semester
about a local artist. Each team had about 9 members. Each team divided their members up into 3
subgroups (Pre–Production, Production and Post–Production) that had 3 members. The team must
coordinate and take part in other duties such as helping in any which way they can to finish the
documentary on time. The team is graded based on individual performance and as well as team
ethics to do the necessary tasks for the documentary.
Team Ethics:
Responsibility: Each team member took a responsibility to perform the necessary actions to get their
job/part done and well as other essential jobs to complete for the documentary. However, the
responsibility for some team members were absent through the construction of the project. In other

As a junior in high school, I started getting emails from a division three college known as Carleton.
The purpose of these messages was to recruit me to come play football for them. After multiple
exchanges, I then got in touch with their running back coach and recruiting coordinator, Coach
Jerome Smith. I later found out that Coach Smith got his master's degree in athletic administration
from Indiana University and had connections to the football program here as well. While he took
classes towards his degree, he also worked closely with the football team as an operations intern and
quality control coach. After recognizing his connection to Indiana University, I reached out to him

His idea of planning does not differ from what I learned in class; however, if I had to teach this topic

division three athletics resembles what the book says. They do not have a lot of money to bring in
students; therefore, they must focus on providing a fun environment for the players that do decide to
play for them. I really enjoyed this experience because it made me want to branch out and gain as
much experience as I can. Coach Smith started right where I am at and is currently in the process of
working his way up through the ranks, hoping to reach the division one level eventually. As he
pushed his way from quality control coach here at Indiana, to coach at Marian University, and then
through multiple division three schools, Coach Smith took a small amount of knowledge from every
position he held. Now, he finally got himself to an opportunity to learn how to coach and effectively
recruit players to come to his school. Overall, I believe this interview was an important step for me
to reach my career goals and I will use this experience to grow as a coach. I feel that this assignment
is one that students should take seriously because it forces you to reach out to individuals that you
may not have otherwise contacted. Being one step closer to my career goals, I can thank Coach

Self Esteem : The Negative Evaluation Of Self-Esteem,...
In psychology, self Esteem is a word to mirror a person's general assessment or appraisal of own
worth. Self Esteem encompasses beliefs and emotions such as triumph, despair, pride and shame.
'The self–concept is what people think about the self, Self Esteem, and the positive or negative
evaluation of the self. An individual's self–concept involves of the viewpoints one has about oneself,
one's self–perception, or, as (Hamlyn, 1983), expresses it, "the picture of oneself". Baumeister,
Smart and Boden (1997) described self–concept as totally perception which people hold about
themselves. It is not the "facts" about one–self but rather what one believes to be true about one–self
(Mercer, 2008). Self–esteem protects the individual from potentially debilitating emotions as they
work to reestablish and maintain a match between standards and perceptions. Self–esteem is able to
defense the individual from such negative consequences both directly and indirectly.
Not only should self–esteem be associated with higher levels of well–being (direct buffering effect),
but self–esteem should also moderate the effects of a lack of self–verification (indirect buffering
effect). Furthermore, if self–esteem is observed as analogous to a reservoir of energy, then persistent
problems in identity verification over time should eventually begin to deplete self–esteem, reducing
its overall level as it is used up. Further failure for the student who is unable to perform to her
identity standards will have an increasingly greater impact on her self–esteem over time, and she is
likely to become more and more frustrated. Constant outcomes of absence of confirmation will be
over and above any effect of the current level of self–verification.
While self–esteem may be viewed as both an outcome and a resource when the self–verification
process fails, it has also been conceptualized as a goal in and of itself. This line of research views
self–esteem as a self–motive. Self–motives provide both a standard and a direction for behavior.
Self–esteem as a self–motive thus suggests that individuals attempt to maintain or enhance their
self–esteem to some desired level (e.g., Kaplan, 1975; Rosenberg, 1979; Tesser, 1988). Investigation

The Strengths Of Self Evaluation : Self-Evaluation
"If you could kick the person in the pants responsible for most of your trouble, you wouldn't sit for a
month." (Theodore Roosevelt) Self–evaluation is one of the most difficult and rewarding practices
one could engage in. Whether it be inward reflection on one's health, relationships, or in business it
truly takes courage to face one's own inadequacies. It is a natural tendency to look to others when a
situation turns south or has a negative outcome. We look to outside forces to blame for the failure.
However, a true leader takes responsibility for the outcomes no matter the reason. A true and good
leader first looks to him or herself for weaknesses and strives to better himself. Then and only then
can one ask other to follow them to greatness. In my self–evaluation I have fought to see my self the
way I truly am versus the way I want to be. When evaluating oneself it is important to understand
that everyone has strengths and weaknesses. While we sometimes focus on our weaknesses it often
is more helpful to strengthen our strengths and enlist other for help where we are weak. For this
self–evaluation I will highlight both strengths and weaknesses, however my S.M.A.R.T goals will
be focused on how to strengthen my strengths. The leadership theory I wish to use in this self–
evaluation is the Level 5 leadership theory. As a quick overview the Level 5 leadership theory

Self–Evaluation
1. The first evaluation I took this course was the Lifestyle assessment. On this assessment I scored a
90.6, which was an excellent score and indicated that I was engaging in behaviors and attitudes that
significantly contribute to a healthy lifestyle. I am going to break down my score on regards to the
six dimensions of wellness. On the Physical Assessment I did exceptional, I scored 100/100, and
almost always did what each of the ten statements said, so I had great physical wellness. On the
Social Wellness Assessment, I scored an 79/100, lacking in the statements five, eight, and ten, the
main issue being that I am not involved in my community at all, so I scored all right on Social
wellness. On the Spiritual Wellness part, I scored 97/100, scoring lower on statement 8, but overall,
I was very spiritually well. On Emotional Wellness I scored 87/100, lacking on statement five, six,
and eight, but I think Emotional was one of my weaker wellnesses. On Intellectual wellness I scored
90/100, weak on statements three and six, but I was still relatively strong in my intellectual
wellness. On Environmental I scored 84/100, scoring less on statement one, five, seven, and nine. I
think out of all the dimensions of wellness, personally my weakest one is definitely Social, not only
does the score show it, but my everyday life also used to show it. Some of my social downfalls were
that I was not outgoing, I had a hard time making friends, and I just generally didn't like having
conversations with people I wasn't really close with. Despite my scores, I think my strongest
wellness was Spiritual wellness, because I knew my values and beliefs very well, and I lived by
them every day. The dietary evaluation really helped my Physical Wellness by making me more
aware of the good things I was eating that were contributing to health, as well as the bad things I
was eating that were ruing my health. The stressors assignment really improved my Social wellness,

Introduction Self–evaluation is the process of evaluating yourself after completing either a project
and/or task. The purpose of the evaluation is to review the project and/or task after it is completed to
determine what was learned and if changes need to be made. Not always when someone does
something do they learn all they could have or do it correctly the first time. It is from the self–
evaluation process this determination can be made. Once the evaluation is complete the individual
can move forward and make changes if need be.

on different levels of focus such as noticing the author's tone, details, and intellectual thoughts. My
favorite reading is Kluger's memoir because she had challenged my sympathies towards Holocaust
survivors. A clerk saved her from gas chambers by lying to a SS guard. When I was wondering
about the clerk's motive, Kluger's barbed line, "What more do you need for an example of perfect
goodness?" really caught me in a surprise. Next, the self–check questions after every module are
extremely helpful for preparing the midterm exam. When I failed to recall specific dates or names,
the explanations from the self–check questions were excellent sources for making references. As of
the web essay, I found it difficult because it forced me to revisit previous readings to look for the
specific facts. I think it would be more helpful if I took more time to discuss the topic with my peers

Memory Self Evaluation
To start with, the name of my experimental study is called "memory and self–evaluation". The study
is being conducted by a researcher by the name of Wing Yee Cheung. The researcher was associated
with the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom, and was approved to conduct this
experiment through the Ethic Committee at the School of Psychology, University of Southampton,
UK. The goal of this experiment was to further be able to understand the connection between
modesty and proneness to nostalgia. the word nostalgia means that a certain individual longs to
replay or relive some event from their past. The research being conducted in this experiment is to
better understand why when people experience nostalgia, they usually experience it ... Show more

I will briefly describe the 8 ethical guidelines in the next paragraph. The first and most important
guideline is that the rights and safety or your participants should always come before your
experiment. The second guideline has to do with informing the participant of what will be going on
in the study. It is very important to get the participants consent before proceeding with anything else.
And when the participants are using children it is also very important to get consent from the
parents. In cases like a blind or double blind experiment it is okay to hold off on telling the
participant in which group they are in, but before the experiment you have to let them know that
they could be in the control group which is the one that stays the same or that they might be in the
experimental group which is the one that actually gets tested on. And after everything is complete it
is important to make sure you tell the participant any information that you had to hold on to until the
end. The third guideline is tricky because it has to do with lying to your patient for a good cause. If
you are conducting an experiment where you are interviewing people and wanted to test how
attentive they were to their surrounding by hanging a picture of a dog on the wall. And wanted to see
how many would remember what the picture was about after they left the interview, then it would be
okay to withhold that information from them, but at the end you would have to tell them everything
you did and why you did it, which is called debriefing. The four guideline is very simple which is
that if the individual no longer wants to participate in the study they are free to do as they please, no
matter how it may affect your research. The fifth guideline is also very strait forward, it has to do
with creating a safe environment for the participants, and to make sure they are no

Self Evaluation Paper
Self–reports or self–evaluations are a well–known method of data collection in many of the social
and behavioural sciences (Halverson et al., 2005; Aday and Cornelius, 2006). Whereby overt
behaviours can be measured by more objective measures, self–reports may be one insight we have
into the internal state of a person's thoughts and feelings as they solicit personal information about
individual experience that is mainly subjective in nature. However, to date, the literature does not
include self–evaluations aimed at understanding readiness for interprofessional collaboration and as
such, organizations have not been able to use such a tool to assess whether individuals are ready and
what may need to be done in order to help achieve readiness. Influencing Policy In order for
organizations to adopt a Readiness to Collaborate Scale and then, in turn, pursue new strategies that
will support or enable individual practitioners to better collaborate in an interprofessional team,
implementers of organizational change and decision–makers are faced with two distinct outcomes.
One, is the 'ideal situation' where policymakers and decision–makers can jointly identify the
desirable future or condition of the organization and interprofessional team and then create the
policies, take the actions to move forward ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, in reality, many of these efforts do not result in the intended aims and do not foster
sustained and positive change. Throughout the literature, it is cited that many factors contribute to
the effectiveness within which such changes are implemented. One such factor is readiness for
change (Armenakis et al., 1993; Tomblin Murphy et al., 2013; Strype et al., 2014; Van et al., 2014).
Being ready for a change such as moving from siloed practice to interprofessional practice may

Reflection On Self Evaluation
Introduction Self–evaluation may not be an easy thing, but my counseling skills throughout the
semester have improved. This type of self–evaluation is an essential part of the role and helps the
counselor to become a better counselor. Thus, without this reflection, the counselor becomes
stagnant and loose motivation. I reflect on my journals most of the time about how I am improving
each day, and the new skills that I learned and will continue using them. I did not think I would be
able to do the skills that I learned from this course. Initially, I was so nervous about the whole
process like the role–play and not to mention the video recording was a nerve–racking, but as we
progress I got the confidence and the courage that I can do this. I had to force myself to do a better
job and not to let down my colleagues in each practice session. Each session, I encourage and push
myself into my limitation and at the end it was successful. I believe all the hard work paid off that I
put into this class. I gained the ability to demonstrate active attending behaviors, as well as to listen
to and understand non–verbal behaviors. Current Level of Counseling Skills I have gained so much
knowledge regarding counseling skills throughout this semester were exceptional. These skills
include attending, challenging, immediacy, basic/advanced empathy, active listening and much
more. Initially, it seemed very hard for each class session, as I could not believe that I was able to

Self Evaluation
The purpose of this self–evaluation letter is to consider and evaluate myself as one of group 24
members. So, I set three significant main criteria of attributes and skills, which are based on two
group projects and three presentations, that they are definitely important in a group member. They
are time management skill, participation, and effort.
Time management is very important because it is a way to organize and plan how much time to
spend on some specific activities. As a group 24 member, I definitely think that I was doing a better
job on managing my time on each group assignment and project. In the group policies, it said all
members must complete their individual parts of the group assignment before a meeting and a due
date. I always finished my parts on time and never missed any individual parts in the group
assignments. For instance, I submitted all group assignments through Moodle on time. Also, I would
finish taking notes and preparing for my presentation before a meeting time. So, I insist that I
worked very well in this part.
Another important attribute is participation which is a way to contribute an effective collaboration to
help building and leading a group to achieve ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

their criteria–time management, attitude, attendance, task management, commitment, and effort.
However, I do agree that some recommended me to take more time to work on writing skill because
there were some grammar errors. So, I will keep all of their recommendation and improve myself,
especially my English language. Also, I would like to thank you them for helping and understanding
me. By the way, I would like to thank you my professor Kimmerly for giving all effective, helpful

Self Evaluation Is Not Easy
When I think on outward appearances and the time and in some cases incredible effort to "look
beautiful it oftentimes makes me wonder about the reason for all the fuss. Yes, it is important to take
care of one's exterior for as the popular saying goes "When you look good, you feel good". Millions
of dollars are spent annually by the cosmetic industry to enhance, to ensure, and to encapsulate our
beauty. There are every kind of product to hide the lines, reduce the lines, eliminate the lines, lift the
lines and some products are for "imaginary lines" that we really did not see until the sales clerk told
us they were there. Trying to look our best is in and of itself is a wonderful premise however the
question for this hour now becomes does our outside match our inside? Are we putting in the same
amount of effort to ensure that our inner man is as healthy, whole and well as our outer man? Self–
evaluation is not easy as it takes a measure of courage to look deep within ourselves unsure of
exactly what we may find. All that glitters is not gold however Jesus wants to help us to uncover the
dross that will allow our best selves to shine through. For when we are at our best, we can truly live
boldly, overcome courageously and trust God faithfully. With empowerment we will be able to face
the challenges that plague our communities, in particularly domestic violence that claims the lives of
4,000 women every year. Clearly our sisters are hurting; unable to look at

Some of these competencies are only acquired through specific professional experiences. Due to my
lack of experience as a nurse and nurse leader I do have some weaknesses in terms of business skills
and knowledge of the acute side of healthcare. Business skills are learned primarily through
administrative positions. I can also see my resilience can get in the way, I can be very stubborn. It
boils down to not wanting to give up or failure, but I need to overcome that perspective. Many times
in nursing, the outcome you initially want is not what you will get. I have been learning that as long
as you know and did everything to the best of your ability is sometimes all you can do for your
patient. Since I know my own weaknesses and what I need to improve on I feel that I could assume

experience with an on–line class. By participating in all the discussion boards and peer revision

Part 3: Evaluate your presentation Evaluation of one to one presentation The final part of this
assessment requires you to evaluate your presentations. Your self– evaluation report should be typed
document and include around 500 words. It should address the following questions and be written in
plain English: 1. What worked well during the presentation? Voice: The person who was presenting
projected his voice very clearly and professionally. Any words that seem to be complicated and not
common to terms that we normally speak were very well explained so that anyone who felt a bit lost

he presented for himself to the audience and the sheets of papers with diagrams that he gave the
audience to look at where all done in a very professional manner. There was no evidence to suggest
that there was any information that was missing. Any bits of information that seemed a bit
complicated were addressed to ensure that all the people who were in attendance understood what
was going on. 3. What suggestions for improvement were made, if any? Improvements that were
done were small exercises such as 5 minutes to engage with other people in attendance. This brought
a feeling of the type of people that people were seated in attendance with. Other small
improvements that were done were the humor side of things in the presentation. The presenter had a
few jokes that made the audience feel engaged with one another and the presenter speaking 4. Based

Self Evaluation And Self Reflection Essay
Introduction Although personal development is an important aspect of one's life, being able to
reflect on the ground covered plays a more critical role. Primarily, self–reflection in professional
development allows one to identify milestones that have been overcome, the current state of affairs
and the projected targets. The identification of prevailing failures in the process provides a glimpse
into what needs to be changed in order for the target to be achieved within the set timeframe. The
concept of self–evaluation and self–reflection encapsulates a complex synthesis of the development
of employability skills, employability engagement, and the action plan to optimize the skills and
knowledge developed in the process of professional development. Reflection on Employability
Skills Development Description of an Experience/ Background My experience when I was
developing my curriculum vitae (CV) was quite exhilarating. I was accustomed to making my CV
using traditional means whereby I would make it for general use. I would then email it to multiple
companies because it was quite general. My experience in creating the new CV was insightful to the
extent that I realized that a CV designed for technical application should vary greatly in its content,
scope and overall design. My tutor provided critical insights as to how I should redesign my CV that
was targeted for technology companies. I also realized the frailty of a CV remaining in a Word

Self Evaluation as a Nurse
Self Evaluation as a Nurse I am pleased to state that I have been a registered nurse for forty years.
At this moment, I continue working in nursing while pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing
degree. My intended month of completion is October 2012. My experience in nursing education has
motivated me to continue my education and pursue a Masters degree in a nursing related field
commencing in 2013. Thus, in terms of my career planning, my education is a crucial part to my
professional development. Extending and deepening one's education, especially within the career
field of one's choice, can only bring upon additional professional opportunities as well as
opportunities for personal growth. My career planning includes building upon my decades of
experience in obstetrics, my particular area of specialty, expertise, and passion, with the assistance
and addition of higher education. I believe in terms of career planning, my strengths include
foresight, preparation, internal motivation, and focus. With respect to personal and professional
accountability, I believe I have prominent strengths in these areas as well. I would have not have
lasted within the nursing field for forty years if I did not have a firm sense of personal and
professional accountability. There are risks and precautions to be taken within any specific area of
nursing and medicine, but there is certainly something quite obvious about the accountability
necessary when working in obstetrics. I believe my

Parli Self Evaluation This was the first time during my collegiate career giving a parli debate, so I
thought it was very challenging to say the least. Some of the Improvements I could make were
actually practicing the debate itself. I could also practice body language and making eye contact
with the audience. Lastly, I could improve on my writing skills so I understand what I am trying to
say when debating against the other team. A. A strong point that I feel like I done well on was how I
used the proper format for debate. This allowed me to have a well laid out topic to present for the

However, this class has helped me refresh on how to make a thesis statement because eighth grade
was a few years ago. An example of one of my thesis statements is "The use of technology and
media has positively impacted the world because it has helped connect people together and with
anything they could possibly want to know." My teacher in eighth grade taught me that the
introduction should briefly describe some of the points that I would cover in the following body
paragraphs. One of the weaknesses I have as a writer is the formatting of my body paragraphs. I
often make my body paragraphs extremely lengthy. My high school English teacher has never
pointed that out as one of my weakness, so I just recently became aware of this problem. He actually
wanted the class to have paragraphs that were pages long before switching to a new paragraph.
Another one of my strengths is the content of my body paragraphs. I normally have solid body
paragraphs that go more indepth and describe what I briefly mentioned in my introduction
paragraph. I have learned from my many years of taking English class that the body paragraphs
should give lots of details about the subject that the paper is talking about. I have gotten very good
at making body paragraphs because when papers are very long I have to add more body

Self Evaluation Motivates Performance Essay
Self Evaluation Motivates Performance
To demonstrate that the potential for self–evaluation can motivate performance, the potential for
evaluation by external sources must be eliminated. As Bandura (1986) writes, "When environmental
constraints are reduced, the influence of self–evaluative motivators becomes most self–evident" (p.
479). Thus, to determine whether the self–evaluative concerns suggested by social comparison
theory motivate performance, one must ensure that people feel that they cannot be individually
evaluated by an externalsource. Such control of external evaluation is made possible through the use
of the social loafing paradigm (e.g., Latane, Williams, & Harkins, 1979).
Social loafing refers to the finding that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Szy@ manski and Harkins (1987) did exactly this in an experiment in which they asked participants
to generate as many uses as they could (i.e., do–your–best instructions) for a common object,
regardless of the creativity of those uses. Pilot work with this task showed that participants felt that
they knew how many uses they had generated (their output). Therefore, to manipulate the potential
for self–evaluation, Szymanski and Harkins either provided an evaluative criterion by telling
participants that at the end of the session they would be told the average number of uses generated
by participants in a previous version of the experiment, or Szymanksi and Harkins withheld the
criterion by telling participants that to preserve confidentiality they would not be given this
information. When the participants were provided with the evaluative criterion, they had an
opportunity for selfevaluation by social comparison. This manipulation of the potential for self–
evaluation was crossed with a manipulation of the potential for experimenter evaluation. Half of the
participants were told that at the end of the session, the experimenter would come in and count the
number of uses that they had generated (experimenter evaluation), whereas the other half of the
participants were told that the experimenter was interested in average performance so their
individual outputs would be pooled with those of

Speech On Self Evaluation
Speech to Explain: Self Evaluation
For this speech I choose to have my topic be something I have a strong personal connection to
which was Rave culture, its history and practices. Choosing this to be my topic of choice I was able
to be motivated in researching it and I believe my genuine interest in the topic showed in my
presentation. In this self–eval I will be discussing the structure and style along with what I am taking
away from this speech.
First, I will be talking about the structure of my speech. When doing a speech to explain, like any
other speech it's important to have a clear and organized pattern. Essentially when creating my
outline for the speech I had made sure to have a clear and engaging intro and hook, meant to clearly
state my theme and then jump into the topic. Unfortunately when presenting the speech I was unable
to present my introduction as I would have liked and forgot to even mention my theme. I was not
very effective in my introduction but knowing so at my conclusion I was sure to clearly state my
theme. However,I believe my concluding sentence could have been more clear. To improve I should
in the future reinstate my topics and go over key points and leave the audience with psychological
closure rather than abruptly saying "that was all, thank you".
I felt that it would have been beneficial for me to use more visual aids in presenting my topic.
Rather than just talking about my topic and the music, I feel that if I showed some actual footage

Application Of Self Reflection And Self Evaluation
Professional Progress The purpose of this assignment is to go through a process of self–reflection
and self–evaluation to discover the scope of personal and professional development, while enrolled
in an undergraduate nursing program. This paper looks at my accomplishment of meeting all eight
behaviors that are specific outcomes of the nursing program including: critical thinking, nursing
practice, communication, teaching, research, leadership, professionalism, and culture. These
accomplishments, over the course of my undergraduate career, will be proven using previous
completed clinical logs that span sophomore, junior, and senior year in the nursing program. Critical
Thinking Sophomore Year During sophomore year, this was the beginning of my critical thinking in
the clinical setting. This first year, pre–clinical was a time spent gathering patient information and
assessment data to create a basic care plan specific to the designated patient. After the care plan was
made, I listed nursing interventions, expected outcomes and goals in relation to each patient. These
basic care plans were then changed, after having patient interaction, and made more detailed to the
patient and the data I gathered during the actual clinical. To help me prioritize my patient's care, I
used Maslow's Hierarchy of needs, and nursing theorists were then use to help guide the care I gave.
An example of this is from my fundamentals clinical, where I had a 58 year old male patient with an

Professional Self-Evaluation

  • 1. Professional Self-Evaluation The document I chose to design is my resume. The reason as to why I chose this particular document is because I felt my resume was very appealing. My resume was three pages and did not have good use of white space. Although it had a very professional look to it, my resume didn't match my style. Also, it was a word template and I wanted it to have a reflection on my professional self. The purpose of the document is for potential employers to see my previous experience, skills, and accomplishments. The first thing I decided to change around was the header. My original header had a lighter blue boarder on the top of the page. I changed this to a purple line where this boarder was at the header and also added one to the footer to make it professional ... • 3. The Strengths Of Self-Evaluation In Writing One of the advantages of doing a self–evaluation of my own essay is to become more aware of how other people perceive you as a writer. I became more aware of my strengths and my weaknesses concerning my writing style. Everyone has a different sense of writing. Having my peers and instructor review my essay helped point of some of the strengths as well as weaknesses I have. I was very nervous and a bit intimidated when I wrote my writing experience essay. Once I found out I had to write a self–evaluation essay, and in a sense grading my own writing skills, I was extremely nervous! It seemed silly to think that I had to evaluate myself based on what I had personally written. Using the 6+1 writing rubric I was given was extremely helpful in grading my essay about my first writing experience. For each of the five categories that will be graded, we can receive between one and five points per category. The categories were focus, organization, details/support, sentence fluency, and conventions. There are five levels of grading. The levels of grading are mastery, exceeds expectations, meets expectations, approaches expectations and below expectations. The first skill I had to grade myself on was focus. I gave myself three points for this area. I often strayed from my main idea of my essay. This has been a problem for me in the past with writing. My intention was to keep the reader focused on my goals. I talked about my goals a lot in the essay, but steered away from my goals and I talked about my family. When I was talking about my goals, I should have focused on that more, instead of my family. The second skill was organization. I gave myself four points for this area. I had a very strong opening. "I didn't have much experience with writing until the summer semester at Southside Community College. I enrolled in SDV 100, which is College Success Skills. When the class began I realized that I would be writing an essay each week for this class, this made me very nervous." I have always loved writing, when I was younger I always wanted to be an English teacher, just like my grandmother. I was nervous knowing that I needed to live up to my parent's expectations and English has always been a strong area for my family. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Reflection Of A Self-Evaluation On Your True Self This course has changed me in so many ways over the past semester, ways as far as my procrastination and how it's not good to procrastinate, and me not feeling embarrassed to actually talk about that and say that out loud because I wasn't the only one in class to raise my hand in doing things at a pace and my time and not always on time. In this course I have learned so much about myself as well the other people in the classroom in different ways, more so than I ever thought I would, and with this knowledge comes a great responsibility. This class has basically taught me a self–evaluation on myself, now I know that sounds weird and unusual of how you can do a self– evaluation on your true self, because you are yourself but when this class first started I only expected to learn the very basics of psychology like the different approaches of psychology like behaviorism, and humanism. Not only did I learn about the essentials of psychology, but I also learned a great deal about myself and my past life experiences. This class has forced me to look deep within myself and confront my psychological demons as far as what am I doing wrong within myself and what do I need to work to get better at. I also learned that many people within the United States rather if they are us as citizens or not are still human and that they go through the same psychological problems rather if that's internally, and externally and don't even know it. We are very smart and clever as human beings and have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Self Evaluation Analysis Before I went in to the evaluation, I wanted to collect my thoughts about how I thought I had been performing for the week. I had not received much feedback on how I had been doing and all of it had been positive. On several occasions, I had been told, "good observation" or, "I was hoping you would pick up on that". During one instance, an OT was asking me how I would modify a child's goals based on his progress, and I answered based on my knowledge that I have gathered through LEND, the OT program and my personal experience. The OT I was speaking with and the two OTs who overheard were impressed with my response and commented that I was ahead of some of the other level I students they have had before. Regardless of this positive feedback, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 9. Core Self Evaluations Ashley Duncan Final Project, Leadership Core self–evaluations are one of my traits. I am good at determining what I believe in and am typically confident I can achieve that goal. Authenticity is my biggest trait. My opinions are usually not swayed, however I am always up front and honest about what I am thinking. I am however articulate in the deliverance of my beliefs, goals, or opinions. I try to make a point not to offend someone and I enjoy hearing the differences others may have from my own. I can give unbiased advice to anyone. When I worked at Walmart in high school, we had a manager that would hold group meetings where he would do all of the talking. He basically would just tell us where our highest level of shrinkage was and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I am most always more worried about the over–all goal than my own. It is very satisfying to help others and gain relationships. I am not very competitive but in a group setting I am the opposite. I will always finish my own task but I have found that helping others achieve their goals usually gives back good karma. I do think I am a task related or goal oriented person. I am very good at building relationships while working towards a common goal. I am good at explaining the benefits while making the work seem less like a job. I typically have a planner or some sort of outline for what we are doing. I am a participative leader because I have a hard time coming to a conclusion on my own. I would say I am more of a consensus leader. While I can make a decision, I do like to get everyone else's opinion. It is important for me to think about what everyone else thinks and while I may not always agree, I do take it into consideration. I typically use persuasion and credibility to get my point across. I have found that most people can relate to situational stories. When I am trying to get someone to see things from my perspective I usually will use examples from my past. I will tell them of mistakes I have made or things I have done that made me feel ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Self Evaluation Essay The greatest start to the best speech is a good topic. The topic needs to be modern, up to date, interesting and fun. All of this is depending on your audience as well, so you wouldn't want to give a speech on the first phones invented to fifth graders. The topic should appeal to the audience, and since most of my speeches will be done in my communication class my audience will be current college students just like myself. This makes it a little easier preparing a speech because I am a college student as well, so I have a bit of an idea of what may or may not appeal to my audience. There are many things that I need to consider before giving a speech, things like, how to be fully prepared with my information, how to not bore my audience to death, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And being a college student myself I know how easy it is to lose attention on something. So I need to make sure during my speech to make it interesting and bring a visual aide because I know that, that may help me share my information better with students who learn better with visual aids as well as I do. As stated in our Frealeigh and Tuman textbook "If you want audience members to actively listen to your speech and ignore everything else going on you must motivate them to focus on what you're saying. By selection supporting materials that appeal to your listeners interest, you sweeten the odds that they will pay attention to you." So with this I feel that by getting something that most of my classmates or audience can connect with, will make them feel the need to pay attention to what I'm saying and actually have their full attention the entire time. I feel like also learning what my classmate's interests are may help me grab and keep their attention longer. Learning how to connect my topic to things they may like, for instance sports, famous people, or politics may help me peek their interest and keep their mind on me and what I am saying rather than looking around or look at their ... • 13. Reflection Paper On Self-Evaluation Self–evaluation builds on a natural tendency to check out the progress of one's own learning and to improve. Being a foreign medical graduate, and a stay–at–home mom for the last 17 years, I felt nervous around my colleagues who are professionals and experts in their fields due to years of experience that I felt I did not yet have. This paper discusses peer feedback and self–assessment based on multiple negotiation exercises performed by me during the on–campus visit of summer, 2017. For example, I have realized that it is essential to not only know my opponent, but to also know myself. This opportunity of self–reflection has allowed me to recognize beneficial methods of conduct for various negations occurring under various conditions such ... It allowed me to think of a solution that was agreeable to most of my team members and helped us from getting sued in the Brookside Community Hospital Negotiation exercise. I approach most of my conversations in this manner with my family at home which helps me in understanding the other person and my duty and goals that I need to accomplish. Trustworthiness is a good strategy that my colleagues picked in me and I am proud of it. This is because I am a good listener and my team felt that their concerns are being heard which allowed them to believe in my proposals. This strategy helped me in my role as Brook the Chief Legal Counsel, SWE, Sales Manager, and Lennon in negotiation exercises Fastkin, New Media Web Design and Geben Robotics respectively. My colleagues have mentioned my ability to look at the whole picture as my strength to which I agree. I was able to "expand the pie" rather than divide the pie and get to a "yes" that changed the win–lose game to a win–win scenario where both sides can benefit can benefit more by working on mutual benefits and try to stay away from false conflicts or illusory effects. I think that zero sum is a negative perception and it is often possible for people to gain, especially if they collaborate. I often use this technique at home with my children and spouse. If a negotiation turns to a conflict and becomes personal, the sense of fair play (or even getting what I need) then goes out of the window. I had a strong BATNA, taking ... Self Evaluation Research Paper Self–Evaluation Entering COMS 100 I had this alter ego that I would do exceptionally well because I've previously hosted events and public speaking was one of my strong suit. Even though the majority of the class took this course the previous semester and had the upper advantage because they knew what to expect unlike me. After presenting the self–introduce speech I felt that this course would require more work and dedication than I originally anticipated. Through the 16 weeks of being a part of COMS 100, I've learned multiple valuable lessons. First and most important, I had to cut off my ego. I could no longer use the excuse that I use to host silly high school events and say I'm a great public speaker. After my self–introduce speech, I made it my mission to do well on my commemorative speech and all these different elements to make my speech one of the best. One of my biggest flaw in the informative speech was that I provided a little too much information to the audience and in doing that I exceeded my time range. The purpose of these messages was to recruit me to come play football for them. After multiple exchanges, I then got in touch with their running back coach and recruiting coordinator, Coach Jerome Smith. I later found out that Coach Smith got his master's degree in athletic administration from Indiana University and had connections to the football program here as well. His idea of planning does not differ from what I learned in class; however, if I had to teach this topic to kids looking to go into coaching, I would make it specific to this field. Also, his outlook on division three athletics resembles what the book says. They do not have a lot of money to bring in students; therefore, they must focus on providing a fun environment for the players that do decide to play for them. I really enjoyed this experience because it made me want to branch out and gain as much experience as I can. Coach Smith started right where I am at and is currently in the process of working his way up through the ranks, hoping to reach the division one level eventually. As he pushed his way from quality control coach here at Indiana, to coach at Marian University, and then through multiple division three schools, Coach Smith took a small amount of knowledge from every position he held. Now, he finally got himself to an opportunity to learn how to coach and effectively recruit players to come to his school. Overall, I believe this interview was an important step for me to reach my career goals and I will use this experience to grow as a coach. I feel that this assignment is one that students should take seriously because it forces you to reach out to individuals that you may not have otherwise contacted. Some of the aspects that I feel like I could improve on include feeling more comfortable speaking in front of groups and feeling more confident in what I am saying, and not just going through the motions. • 23. Self Esteem : The Negative Evaluation Of Self-Esteem,... In psychology, self Esteem is a word to mirror a person's general assessment or appraisal of own worth. Self Esteem encompasses beliefs and emotions such as triumph, despair, pride and shame. 'The self–concept is what people think about the self, Self Esteem, and the positive or negative evaluation of the self. An individual's self–concept involves of the viewpoints one has about oneself, one's self–perception, or, as (Hamlyn, 1983), expresses it, "the picture of oneself". Baumeister, Smart and Boden (1997) described self–concept as totally perception which people hold about themselves. It is not the "facts" about one–self but rather what one believes to be true about one–self (Mercer, 2008). Self–esteem protects the individual from potentially debilitating emotions as they work to reestablish and maintain a match between standards and perceptions. Self–esteem is able to defense the individual from such negative consequences both directly and indirectly. Not only should self–esteem be associated with higher levels of well–being (direct buffering effect), but self–esteem should also moderate the effects of a lack of self–verification (indirect buffering effect). Furthermore, if self–esteem is observed as analogous to a reservoir of energy, then persistent problems in identity verification over time should eventually begin to deplete self–esteem, reducing its overall level as it is used up. Further failure for the student who is unable to perform to her identity standards will have an increasingly greater impact on her self–esteem over time, and she is likely to become more and more frustrated. Constant outcomes of absence of confirmation will be over and above any effect of the current level of self–verification. While self–esteem may be viewed as both an outcome and a resource when the self–verification process fails, it has also been conceptualized as a goal in and of itself. This line of research views self–esteem as a self–motive. Self–motives provide both a standard and a direction for behavior. Self–esteem as a self–motive thus suggests that individuals attempt to maintain or enhance their self–esteem to some desired level (e.g., Kaplan, 1975; Rosenberg, 1979; Tesser, 1988). In addition these classes have taught me numerous techniques and tips for crafting a fine paper. When I write a larger paper I start with an outline that plans out my introduction, main points, sub–points, and conclusion. Nevertheless, I haven't yet viewed my speech as I'm writing this, but I felt that I hit my goals of limited uh/ums, more movement, and staying organized in order to hit every point. It is a natural tendency to look to others when a situation turns south or has a negative outcome. We look to outside forces to blame for the failure. However, a true leader takes responsibility for the outcomes no matter the reason. A true and good leader first looks to him or herself for weaknesses and strives to better himself. Then and only then can one ask other to follow them to greatness. In my self–evaluation I have fought to see my self the way I truly am versus the way I want to be. When evaluating oneself it is important to understand that everyone has strengths and weaknesses. While we sometimes focus on our weaknesses it often is more helpful to strengthen our strengths and enlist other for help where we are weak. For this self–evaluation I will highlight both strengths and weaknesses, however my S.M.A.R.T goals will be focused on how to strengthen my strengths. The leadership theory I wish to use in this self– evaluation is the Level 5 leadership theory. As a quick overview the Level 5 leadership theory describes what takes companies from good to great (Daft, 2014). The conclusion of Jim Collins Level 5 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Reflection On Self Evaluation Self–Evaluation 1. The first evaluation I took this course was the Lifestyle assessment. On this assessment I scored a 90.6, which was an excellent score and indicated that I was engaging in behaviors and attitudes that significantly contribute to a healthy lifestyle. I am going to break down my score on regards to the six dimensions of wellness. On the Physical Assessment I did exceptional, I scored 100/100, and almost always did what each of the ten statements said, so I had great physical wellness. On the Social Wellness Assessment, I scored an 79/100, lacking in the statements five, eight, and ten, the main issue being that I am not involved in my community at all, so I scored all right on Social wellness. On the Spiritual Wellness part, I scored 97/100, scoring lower on statement 8, but overall, I was very spiritually well. On Emotional Wellness I scored 87/100, lacking on statement five, six, and eight, but I think Emotional was one of my weaker wellnesses. On Intellectual wellness I scored 90/100, weak on statements three and six, but I was still relatively strong in my intellectual wellness. On Environmental I scored 84/100, scoring less on statement one, five, seven, and nine. I think out of all the dimensions of wellness, personally my weakest one is definitely Social, not only does the score show it, but my everyday life also used to show it. Some of my social downfalls were that I was not outgoing, I had a hard time making friends, and I just generally didn't like having conversations with people I wasn't really close with. Despite my scores, I think my strongest wellness was Spiritual wellness, because I knew my values and beliefs very well, and I lived by them every day. The dietary evaluation really helped my Physical Wellness by making me more aware of the good things I was eating that were contributing to health, as well as the bad things I was eating that were ruing my health. The stressors assignment really improved my Social wellness, and helped me to converse more; I stopped stressing about what people thought of me. One of my strengths is that I managed to speak at a normal pace. I tend to speak faster than usual when I am nervous because I want to finish in the shortest amount of time possible. In this speech, I was able to maintain a normal talking speed which helped to make my speech more listenable. I also used stimulus through my hand motions. It was not overbearing which can often happen but it was enough to make the delivery of my speech a better one. • 43. Self Evaluation Paper Introduction Self–evaluation is the process of evaluating yourself after completing either a project and/or task. The purpose of the evaluation is to review the project and/or task after it is completed to determine what was learned and if changes need to be made. Not always when someone does something do they learn all they could have or do it correctly the first time. It is from the self– evaluation process this determination can be made. Once the evaluation is complete the individual can move forward and make changes if need be. It allowed me to learn about the history of the Holocaust, which is an event that I am not particularly familiar. Even though we might not talk about this topic often, it's still something that we must never forget. Not only did this course educate me about the timeline, historical figures involved but it also helped me understand the realm of darkness in Auschwitz concentration camps. It is true that an outsider might not understand how little value was placed on human life in those concentration camps. Through reading Holocaust survivors' memoirs however, readers can get insights on the reverence for life and recognize how human life was exterminated. The camp resembles a living laboratory. The victims lived in virtual darkness and expelled from the world. They were isolated, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I went over texts that I found particularly interesting. When I was wondering about the clerk's motive, Kluger's barbed line, "What more do you need for an example of perfect goodness?" really caught me in a surprise. Next, the self–check questions after every module are extremely helpful for preparing the midterm exam. The researcher was associated with the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom, and was approved to conduct this experiment through the Ethic Committee at the School of Psychology, University of Southampton, UK. The goal of this experiment was to further be able to understand the connection between modesty and proneness to nostalgia. the word nostalgia means that a certain individual longs to replay or relive some event from their past. I will briefly describe the 8 ethical guidelines in the next paragraph. The first and most important guideline is that the rights and safety or your participants should always come before your experiment. The second guideline has to do with informing the participant of what will be going on in the study. It is very important to get the participants consent before proceeding with anything else. And when the participants are using children it is also very important to get consent from the parents. In cases like a blind or double blind experiment it is okay to hold off on telling the participant in which group they are in, but before the experiment you have to let them know that they could be in the control group which is the one that stays the same or that they might be in the experimental group which is the one that actually gets tested on. And after everything is complete it is important to make sure you tell the participant any information that you had to hold on to until the end. The third guideline is tricky because it has to do with lying to your patient for a good cause. If you are conducting an experiment where you are interviewing people and wanted to test how attentive they were to their surrounding by hanging a picture of a dog on the wall. And wanted to see how many would remember what the picture was about after they left the interview, then it would be okay to withhold that information from them, but at the end you would have to tell them everything you did and why you did it, which is called debriefing. The four guideline is very simple which is that if the individual no longer wants to participate in the study they are free to do as they please, no matter how it may affect your research. The fifth guideline is also very strait forward, it has to do with creating a safe environment for the participants, and to make sure they are no ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 49. Self Evaluation Paper Self–reports or self–evaluations are a well–known method of data collection in many of the social and behavioural sciences (Halverson et al., 2005; Aday and Cornelius, 2006). Whereby overt behaviours can be measured by more objective measures, self–reports may be one insight we have into the internal state of a person's thoughts and feelings as they solicit personal information about individual experience that is mainly subjective in nature. However, to date, the literature does not include self–evaluations aimed at understanding readiness for interprofessional collaboration and as such, organizations have not been able to use such a tool to assess whether individuals are ready and what may need to be done in order to help achieve readiness. Influencing Policy In order for organizations to adopt a Readiness to Collaborate Scale and then, in turn, pursue new strategies that will support or enable individual practitioners to better collaborate in an interprofessional team, implementers of organizational change and decision–makers are faced with two distinct outcomes. This type of self–evaluation is an essential part of the role and helps the counselor to become a better counselor. Thus, without this reflection, the counselor becomes stagnant and loose motivation. I reflect on my journals most of the time about how I am improving each day, and the new skills that I learned and will continue using them. I did not think I would be able to do the skills that I learned from this course. Initially, I was so nervous about the whole process like the role–play and not to mention the video recording was a nerve–racking, but as we progress I got the confidence and the courage that I can do this. I had to force myself to do a better job and not to let down my colleagues in each practice session. Each session, I encourage and push myself into my limitation and at the end it was successful. I believe all the hard work paid off that I put into this class. I gained the ability to demonstrate active attending behaviors, as well as to listen to and understand non–verbal behaviors. Self Evaluation Is Not Easy When I think on outward appearances and the time and in some cases incredible effort to "look beautiful it oftentimes makes me wonder about the reason for all the fuss. Yes, it is important to take care of one's exterior for as the popular saying goes "When you look good, you feel good". Millions of dollars are spent annually by the cosmetic industry to enhance, to ensure, and to encapsulate our beauty. There are every kind of product to hide the lines, reduce the lines, eliminate the lines, lift the lines and some products are for "imaginary lines" that we really did not see until the sales clerk told us they were there. Trying to look our best is in and of itself is a wonderful premise however the question for this hour now becomes does our outside match our inside? Are we putting in the same amount of effort to ensure that our inner man is as healthy, whole and well as our outer man? Self– evaluation is not easy as it takes a measure of courage to look deep within ourselves unsure of exactly what we may find. All that glitters is not gold however Jesus wants to help us to uncover the dross that will allow our best selves to shine through. For when we are at our best, we can truly live boldly, overcome courageously and trust God faithfully. With empowerment we will be able to face the challenges that plague our communities, in particularly domestic violence that claims the lives of 4,000 women every year. • 63. Self Evaluation And Self Reflection Essay Introduction Although personal development is an important aspect of one's life, being able to reflect on the ground covered plays a more critical role. Primarily, self–reflection in professional development allows one to identify milestones that have been overcome, the current state of affairs and the projected targets. The identification of prevailing failures in the process provides a glimpse into what needs to be changed in order for the target to be achieved within the set timeframe. The concept of self–evaluation and self–reflection encapsulates a complex synthesis of the development of employability skills, employability engagement, and the action plan to optimize the skills and knowledge developed in the process of professional development. Reflection on Employability Skills Development Description of an Experience/ Background My experience when I was developing my curriculum vitae (CV) was quite exhilarating. I was accustomed to making my CV using traditional means whereby I would make it for general use. I would then email it to multiple companies because it was quite general. My experience in creating the new CV was insightful to the extent that I realized that a CV designed for technical application should vary greatly in its content, scope and overall design. At this moment, I continue working in nursing while pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. My intended month of completion is October 2012. My experience in nursing education has motivated me to continue my education and pursue a Masters degree in a nursing related field commencing in 2013. Thus, in terms of my career planning, my education is a crucial part to my professional development. Extending and deepening one's education, especially within the career field of one's choice, can only bring upon additional professional opportunities as well as opportunities for personal growth. My career planning includes building upon my decades of experience in obstetrics, my particular area of specialty, expertise, and passion, with the assistance and addition of higher education. I believe in terms of career planning, my strengths include foresight, preparation, internal motivation, and focus. With respect to personal and professional accountability, I believe I have prominent strengths in these areas as well. I would have not have lasted within the nursing field for forty years if I did not have a firm sense of personal and professional accountability. • 71. Self Evaluation Motivates Performance Essay Self Evaluation Motivates Performance To demonstrate that the potential for self–evaluation can motivate performance, the potential for evaluation by external sources must be eliminated. As Bandura (1986) writes, "When environmental constraints are reduced, the influence of self–evaluative motivators becomes most self–evident" (p. 479). Thus, to determine whether the self–evaluative concerns suggested by social comparison theory motivate performance, one must ensure that people feel that they cannot be individually evaluated by an externalsource. Such control of external evaluation is made possible through the use of the social loafing paradigm (e.g., Latane, Williams, & Harkins, 1979). Social loafing refers to the finding that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Szy@ manski and Harkins (1987) did exactly this in an experiment in which they asked participants to generate as many uses as they could (i.e., do–your–best instructions) for a common object, regardless of the creativity of those uses. Pilot work with this task showed that participants felt that they knew how many uses they had generated (their output). Therefore, to manipulate the potential for self–evaluation, Szymanski and Harkins either provided an evaluative criterion by telling participants that at the end of the session they would be told the average number of uses generated by participants in a previous version of the experiment, or Szymanksi and Harkins withheld the criterion by telling participants that to preserve confidentiality they would not be given this information. When the participants were provided with the evaluative criterion, they had an opportunity for selfevaluation by social comparison. This manipulation of the potential for self– evaluation was crossed with a manipulation of the potential for experimenter evaluation. Half of the participants were told that at the end of the session, the experimenter would come in and count the number of uses that they had generated (experimenter evaluation), whereas the other half of the participants were told that the experimenter was interested in average performance so their individual outputs would be pooled with those of ... Choosing this to be my topic of choice I was able to be motivated in researching it and I believe my genuine interest in the topic showed in my presentation. In this self–eval I will be discussing the structure and style along with what I am taking away from this speech. First, I will be talking about the structure of my speech. When doing a speech to explain, like any other speech it's important to have a clear and organized pattern. Essentially when creating my outline for the speech I had made sure to have a clear and engaging intro and hook, meant to clearly state my theme and then jump into the topic. Unfortunately when presenting the speech I was unable to present my introduction as I would have liked and forgot to even mention my theme. I was not very effective in my introduction but knowing so at my conclusion I was sure to clearly state my theme. However,I believe my concluding sentence could have been more clear. • 77. Application Of Self Reflection And Self Evaluation Professional Progress The purpose of this assignment is to go through a process of self–reflection and self–evaluation to discover the scope of personal and professional development, while enrolled in an undergraduate nursing program. This paper looks at my accomplishment of meeting all eight behaviors that are specific outcomes of the nursing program including: critical thinking, nursing practice, communication, teaching, research, leadership, professionalism, and culture. These accomplishments, over the course of my undergraduate career, will be proven using previous completed clinical logs that span sophomore, junior, and senior year in the nursing program. Critical Thinking Sophomore Year During sophomore year, this was the beginning of my critical thinking in the clinical setting. This first year, pre–clinical was a time spent gathering patient information and assessment data to create a basic care plan specific to the designated patient. After the care plan was made, I listed nursing interventions, expected outcomes and goals in relation to each patient. These basic care plans were then changed, after having patient interaction, and made more detailed to the patient and the data I gathered during the actual clinical. To help me prioritize my patient's care, I used Maslow's Hierarchy of needs, and nursing theorists were then use to help guide the care I gave.
