Pablo Picasso Comparison
Comparison piece
My artwork was inspired by Pablo Picasso–––– Head of A Woman. It was painted in 1960 by oil.
This artwork is a woman's head, but there are two parts on her face. One is the side view and one is
the front view, which is the style of Picasso. Likewise, I cube my face in two part and the opposite
side of my shoulder. In my view, that is the way Picasso used to show 3D of his work, by painting
different sides of one object and put them in one piece. I used blocks of solid color in the
background, line drawing, and sharp boundaries. In contrast. I focus a lot on details. In ancient
Chinese art's, there are some elements that make me thought with Pablo Picasso. When people are
painting, they would like to paint bigger on the object

The Artist Pablo Picasso
The artist Pablo Picasso is quite possibly one of the most famous artists to ever live. While he was
one of the greatest painters, he was also a man of many talents. He was a painter, sculptor,
printmaker, ceramicist and stage designer. Picasso was one of the most influential artists of the 20th
century, as well as the co–founder of Cubism. His creativity, empathy, and mastery in the arts has
led him to become such a revolutionary artist. He devoted his life to painting and artistic production
for the simple fact of wanting to contribute to modern art in the 20th century. Picasso was born
Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la
Santísima Trinidad Martyr Patricio Clito Ruíz y Picasso on October 25th, 1881 in Málaga, Spain.
Picasso's parents were Don José Ruiz Blasco and Doña María Picasso y López. Picasso's father was
a painter and art teacher. Picasso was introduced to art by his father. Picasso showed a passion and
displayed a prodigious talent for drawing at an early age. His father decided to formally train him, at
the age of seven, in the art of oil painting and figure drawing. Picasso was a precocious boy whose
budding talent grew to overshadow that of his father. By the time he was 13.
The painting, Les Demoiselles d'Avignon, was painted by Picasso in the year 1907 and is the most
famous example of cubism painting, as it is considered the first cubist piece of artwork. With this
piece Picasso marked an extensive break from the traditional characteristics of painting, he
abandoned all aspects of traditional art with this piece. He veered far from the representation and
form often seen in traditional art at the time. He depicted five naked women prostitutes in a brothel,
but the women were far from realistic. Picasso had drawn them nothing like the traditional paintings
of women. Their bodies were made up of flat, splintered planes rather than rounded volumes, their
eyes were drawn lopsided, and their faces were off putting. With this painting Picasso did things that
no other artist had contemplated at the time. This visual violent piece evokes and liberates eroticism.
This piece and its unbinding desire was unprecedented in art and in the culture of that

Pablo, The King Of Coke
Pablo Escobar (or Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria) is frequently signified as the "King of coke". This
Colombian drug lord who is if not or most notorious and effective cocaine smuggler in history. Out
of Rionegro, Columbia on December 1, 1949, Escobar is born and was a leader of one of the largest
cocaine handling and supply groups in the world. Escobar's desire and mercilessness made him one
of the wealthiest, most influential and vicious criminals of all time. Born in December 1949,
Escobar was a son of a teacher and peasant of Columbia, Pablo's wrong choice of path started at a
premature age. Details about Escobar's life start at the age of 6. During Escobar's childhood, his
entire family struggled to survive, the fourth of six children to Abel de Jesus Escobar (father), a
peasant, and Hemilda Gaviria (mother), an elementary school teacher. Pablo's family lived in a hut
that had no electricity, but did have running water. By the type of lifestyle Pablo lived it would put
him in the middle class status part of Columbia at that time. For instance, one day Roberto Escobar
(brother) and Pablo would always walk to school due to the fact that they had no money to receive
transportation from a bus. The distance from Pablo's home and the school is equivalent to an hour
walk. Pablo and his brother walked to school so often, Pablo decided to go to school with no shoes
and upon arriving to class Pablo's teacher told him to go back home. Feeling humiliated, once Pablo

Guernica By Pablo Picasso
Guernica Guernica was painted in 1937 by Pablo Picasso. It stands at 11'6'' tall and 25'6'' wide and
is considered one of the most powerful paintings ever created. The work depicts the bombing of the
city Guernica in Spain. The painting is a great piece of art because of its symbolism, solemn mood,
and it contains many artistic elements. Don't change sentence structure at the end. Change "contains
many artistic elements" to fit in with the rest of the list.
Tensions were high in 1937 in Europe with World War Two on the rise. Spain was controlled by
Francisco Franco, a friend of Hitler. Picasso was born in Spain and was devastated to see it be ruled
by a fascist who has taken over the country. Hitler, preparing for a world war, was making new
weapons and asked Franco if he could test them on a spanish city. On April 26, 1937, the German
Condor Legion bombed the city of Guernica in Northern Spain, all with the permission of Franco.
The bombing killed over a thousand people and left the world shocked. Picasso's oil painting on
canvas captures both the reactions of the public and the pain of the innocent civilians who died.
Guernica was originally panned by critics in the world. Many people criticized Picasso's style of
painting the event; calling it an "unrealistic painting," and "a dream of a madman."Actually, most
people wouldn't have known that the painting was about the bombing if there wasn't a title. This is
because Picasso had a very abstract style with a lot of

Pablo Neruda
When considering authors for a World Literature course, there are multiple things to consider. You
have to think about how their work represent their home country, what topics they discuss through
their work, the emotions they convey, etc. You also have to look at the author's personal life. What
influences the authors writing? What are some factors through the author's life that makes them
write about a certain topic? One author that would really be important in a World Literature course
is the poet, Pablo Neruda. Pablo Neruda was a poet, but he was also a politician. Pablo used his
writing to express a lot of his feelings and emotions. Pablo discussed both emotional and political
topics in his poems. Pablo Neruda even won the Nobel Prize for his poetry. But what influenced
Neruda and his writing? Factors such as his home country, people he met, and his political career
played major roles in influencing Pablo Neruda to write so many of the wonderful poems we know
and love today. Pablo Neruda was born July 12, 1904, in the town of Parral in Chile. He was born
Neftalí Ricardo Reyes Basoalto, but later he legally switched his birth name to his pen name, Pablo
Neruda. His father was José del Carmen Reyes Morales, a railway employee and his mother was
Rosa Basoalto, a school teacher. Pablo's mother sadly passed away from tuberculosis two months
after giving birth to him. Soon after Pablo's mother passed away, Pablo and his father packed up and
moved to the city of Temuco. A few

Pablo Picasso painter
Pablo Picasso was the most important artist of the first half of the twentieth century. He also made
collage and made major offerings to refer to Symbolism and Surrealism. Symbolism means to
represent ideas or qualities. Surrealism is a cultural movement that began in the early 1920s, and is
best known for its visual artworks and writings. The aim was to "resolve the clashing conditions of
dream and reality."
He was a painter, he was a famous figure, he was greatly effective and he also discovered areas as

In France, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, and their School of Paris friends blended the highly
stylized treatment of the human figure in African sculptures with painting styles derived from the
post–Impressionist works of Cézanne and Gauguin. The resulting pictorial flatness, vivid color
palette, and fragmented Cubist shapes helped to define early modernism. While these artists knew
nothing of the original meaning and function of the West and Central African sculptures they
encountered, they instantly recognized the spiritual aspect of the composition and adapted these
qualities to their own efforts to move beyond the naturalism that had defined Western art since the
Renaissance. http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/hd/aima/hd_aima.htm Picasso puts aside his

Pablo Escobar
Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria was a Columbian drug lord and leader of one of the most powerful
criminal organizations ever assembled. During the height of his power in the 1980's, he controlled a
vast empire of drugs and murder that covered the globe. He made billions of dollars, ordered the
murder of hundreds if not thousands of people, and ruled over a personal empire of mansions,
airplanes, a private zoo and even his own army of soldiers and hardened criminals.
Born on December 1, 1949 into a lower–middle class family, young Pablo grew up in the Medellín
suburb of Envigado. As a young man, he was driven and ambitious, telling friends and family that
he wanted to be President of Colombia some day. He got his start as a street criminal: ... Show more

In 1976, he married 15 year old Maria Victoria Henao Vellejo, and they would later have two
children, Juan Pablo and Manuela. Escobar was famous for his extramarital affairs, and he tended to
prefer underage girls. One of his girlfriends, Virginia Vallejo, went on to become a famous
Colombian Television personality. In spite of his affairs, he remained married to María Victoria until
his death.
Escobar's first serious run–in with the law was in 1976, when he and some associates were caught
returning from a drug run to Ecuador. Escobar ordered the killing of the arresting officers, and the
case was soon dropped. Later, at the height of his power, Escobar's wealth and ruthlessness made it
almost impossible for Colombian authorities to bring him to justice. Every time any attempt was
made to limit his power, those responsible were bribed, killed, or otherwise neutralized. Pressure
was mounting, however, from the United States government, which wanted Escobar extradited to
face drug charges. Escobar had to use all of his power and terror to prevent extradition.
In 1991, due to increasing pressure to extradite Escobar, the Colombian government and Escobar's
lawyers came up with an interesting arrangement: Escobar would turn himself in and serve a five–
year jail term. In return, he would build his own prison and would not be extradited to the United
States or anywhere else. The prison, La Catedral, was an elegant fortress which

Informative Essay On Pablo Escobar
Pablo Escobar was born at Rionegro, Columbia on December 1, 1949. He was brought up from a
good working class family in Medellin, Columbia. Although, he wasn't very wealthy. His mother
was an elementary school teacher and his father was a farmer. The outage that he saw how he could
escape from the working class was by distributing and selling cocaine. Not only was he a
Columbian drug trafficker and drug lord, but he was also a narco–terrorist. He was one of the most
ruthless person to ever live. On March 22, 2017, two retired U.S agents came to Laredo Community
College to have a presentation about Pablo Escobar. The two agent's names are Steve Murphy and

That is something that I do believe, the producers for the Netflix show may have left out some true
things that may have happened. I personally do admire and respect the people that were on the hunt
for Pablo Escobar. It was a dangerous mission, that they could have been killed any day. Thankfully
they didn't. It was so unbelievable on how much money Pablo was making in a year, especially in a
MONTH! They presented pictures on how much cocaine was found in one laboratory, out of
hundreds of them. The labs is where they would pack the cocaine in plastic bags. Also, the ways on
how they would smuggle the cocaine were unbelievable. Who would have ever thought of looking
in a fruit for drugs? That was really impressive. The way how he would have people killed was
extremely viscous! People's bodies would be tortured and ripped apart. I personally would never
have the heart to do that to anyone, even if I did not like them. Pablo was a man with no compassion
and remorse. Then Pablo was in "prison" for five years, with his own guards

Pablo Neruda Metaphors
Poems are a way for people to express their feelings in an art form that provides enough literary
clues and expressive qualities to help a reader understand what is being expressed. Pablo Neruda
became a legendary poet in his lifetime from 1904 to 1973 in Chile. He never failed to leave a part
of himself in each of his poems for the reader to either identify with or interpret, which is most
evident in his use of metaphor. His metaphors can be labelled as being 'open', for they provide literal
comparisons between two completely unrelated ideas, which leave room for personal interpretation.
Because of the confusion evident in those connections, the reader is immersed into the metaphor and
its resulting tone, mood, and connotative meanings. Pablo ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

When Neruda comes to a conclusion about his feelings, speaking to his loved one, he tells her that if
she feels compelled every day to love him "with implacable sweetness,/ if each day a flower/ climbs
up to your lips to seek me,/ ah my love, ah my own,/ in me all that fire is repeated,/ in me nothing is
extinguished or forgotten,/ my love feeds on your love, beloved" (Lines 38–44). As the poem
concludes in the sixth line, the reader is softly coasted to the end of the poem. Neruda knows he
may have to part from his lover one day, but he ensures that she understands that as long as she
continues to love him without his presence, he will feel her commitment and continue to love her
back. He describes her devotion using the description of a flower climbing up to her "lips to seek"
him. The flower is part of an open metaphor, since the meaning of the statement can differ despite
the flower being a clear symbol of love. Either the flower climbing to her lips is literal, as she may
kiss a flower in memory of Neruda when he is not around, or it can be a representation of relentless,
passionate love. After using the metaphor of a flower, the line is

Pablo Picasso Influences
Pablo Picasso once stated, "Colors, like features, follow the changes of emotions." This quote
explains how Picasso's work changed over the course of his life. Picasso had several art periods in
which anyone is able to see the change of both colors and emotions in his works. For example,
Picasso's Blue period showed his melancholic emotions through blue tones, while during his Rose
period he used brighter red and pink tones showing his more happy emotions. Pablo Picasso's works
expressed his emotions and depicted events throughout his life. Picasso's artwork greatly influenced
many people during his lifetime and he became even more influential and revered for his artwork
after his death.

Picasso himself even said, "I started painting in blue when I learned of Casagemas' death." Another
factor to the start of his blue period could have been the death of his younger sister Conchita.
Although she had died in 1895 when he was 14 it is possible that the death of his good friend
Casagemas brought to the surface his unresolved feelings regarding the death of his sister during his
youth. Many of Picasso's paintings depicted a single subject with a plain background with dark blue
and grey tones during this time. His first painting, a Child with a Dove, features those blue and grey
somber tones. The painting features a child dressed in white holding a dove to its chest with a
colorful ball sitting on the floor. The child is standing in an empty room blue walls and a green
floor. The picture Picasso painted could have been a depiction of his younger sister. The child in the
picture is dressed in white which could symbolize the innocence the child had and the dove could
symbolize peace that they received. The empty room could symbolize Picasso's feelings about her
death. The blue and grey colored walls could be explaining that his thoughts surrounding his sister
may be sorrowful but he knows that she is at peace. These types sad paintings lasted until 1904
which was the year that ended the blue

Pablo Ruiz Picasso
Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga in 1881. Pablo was the son of a respected art teacher, and due to
his father's influence, young Pablo entered the Academy at Barcelona at age 14. This was where he
painted his first great work, "Girl with Bare Feet". After two years of schooling, Picasso transferred
for even for advanced tutelage. This did not hold Picasso's interest, so instead he spent much of his
time in cafes and in brothels.
Three years later, Picasso won a gold medal for his work, "Customs of Aragon". This work was
displayed on exhibit in Picasso's home town. In 1901, Picasso set up a studio in the northern section
of Paris known as Montmartre. Picasso had mastered traditional forms of art by now. ... Show more

His work, "Two Nudes" reflects this attitude.
Cubism soon followed after this. Picasso began experimenting with the many facets of Cubism.
Cubism was developed in stages: analytic, synthetic, hermetic, and rococo. These techniques were
not only useful in painting but in collages as well. Picasso met Eva Marcelle Humbert, and fell in
love with her but the war separated them and she died in 1915. Picasso worked on "Harlequin" to
cope with the grief of his lost friend.
In 1917, Picasso involved himself with Diaghilev's Russian Ballet. He worked on costume and set
design for Parade(1917) and while all this was going on Picasso met his future bride, Olga
Kokhloven, who was a dancer for the ballet. The Ballet gave him inspiration for his next work,
"Three Dancers". Then something dreadful happened, a small Spanish town became a test site for
some new bombs. Picasso's work, the "Guernica" demonstrates the horror, cruelty, and injustice that
took place. On a greater scale, not only does it provide compassion for those lost at Guernica, but it
also illustrates how useless and horrible war truly is. Following that, Picasso became director of the
Prado Gallery in Madrid. World War II blazed on while Picasso worked in Paris and he worked
diligently despite the world around him.
Picasso left his wife in 1931, and following that he had many mistresses that provided him with
inspiration for his works and even did some modeling work for him. Picasso

Pablo 's Life Of Crime
Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria was born December 1, 1949 in Antioquia, Colombia. Pablo's life was
ended on December 2, 1993, when he was surrounded by police and was shot. Pablo Escobar will be
remembered in history for being one of the wealthiest and most influential drug lords the world has
ever seen. Pablo Escobar grew up from modest means, his father was a peasant farmer and his
mother was a school teacher (biography.com editors, 2016). From his early days Escobar strived to
raise his status up from modest to extraordinary. Unfortunately, his family could not afford his
education so he had to drop out, this was the first step to Escobar's life of crime (Crimemuseum,

cars. Other early exploits include stealing headstones from cemeteries and sanding them off to sell
off as new headstones (Crimemuseum, 2016). Escobar's prominence came in during the "Marlboro
Wars" where he had a high profile position in Columbia's smuggled cigarette market
(biography.com editors, 2016). Realizing the potential of the cocaine market Escobar made his first
major power play. In 1975, Escobar ordered the assassination of Fabio Restrepo, who was the
current head of the cocaine market (Crimemuseum, 2016). Escobar immediately took control of the

Who was Pablo Picasso?
Pablo Picasso (1881–1973) is commonly considered to be one of the greatest twentieth–century
radical European surrealist and cubist painters and sculptors to have lived, if not the greatest modern
artist that Spain has ever produced.
His prolific portfolio included experimentation in everything from printmaking to ceramics,
although oil painting was for most of his career his primary medium. His extensive legacy in
popular culture and fine art, particularly in abstract geometry and use of color, is extensive and
incomparable to all but a few other titans of modern art.
He was identified as a child prodigy and was admitted at the age of just 14 to Barcelona's School of

This overlapped with his transition into using "warmer" brown and red palette colors and his shift
away from depicting depressing themes to a more neutral stance, both of which defined his Rose
Period (c.1904–1907). Picasso's work during these years is still generally considered to be proto–
cubist, as it included some semi–realistic elements and geometry.
Picasso's interest in African (particularly African Tribal) influences is usually considered something
of a brief flirtation that formed a stepping stone to his lifelong infatuation with depicting subversive
cubist geometries. His experiments with African themes are considered to have concluded by the
start of 1910, in favour of focusing on developing his (then) more successful 1908 experiments in
"Analytical Cubism" into a coherent genre of painting. Nevertheless, Picasso never entirely
abandoned his interest in Africa. Some much later work such as the painting Musician (1972) can be
said to contain the same influences.
Certainly, the enduring influence of some elements of the African Period on Picasso can be seen
throughout the work that followed on from it. This is particularly so in Picasso's approach to facial
structure and depiction of the human body after 1909. One of his most highly regarded paintings,
Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (1907), also emerged as an iconic work from his exploration of tribal
African depictions of the human form.

He started working in cubism art in 1907. Picasso produced paintings like never before anyone had
done before. One of his paintings were "Les Demoiselles d'Avignon," a chilling depiction of five
nude prostitutes, abstracted and distorted with sharp geometric features and stark blotches of blues,
greens and grays (Pablo Picasso). Picasso's painting shocked many, including artists.
In Cubist paintings, objects are broken apart and reassembled in an abstracted form, highlighting
their composite geometric shapes and depicting them from multiple, simultaneous viewpoints in
order to create physics–defying, collage–like effects. At once destructive and creative, Cubism
shocked, appalled and fascinated the art world. "It made me feel as if someone was drinking
gasoline and spitting fire," Braque said, explaining that he was shocked when he first viewed
Picasso's "Les Demoiselles," but quickly became intrigued with Cubism, seeing the new style as a

Pablo Picasso
A Brief Biography
Pablo Ruiz Y Picasso was the most famous artist of the 20th century. He was born on October 25,
1881 in Malaga, Spain. Picasso showed great talent at an early age. He loved to paint pictures of
city life and was fascinated by the circus. He also enjoyed painting pictures of the day–to–day life of
poor people in his neighbourhood and was also very poor himself. His father, Jose Ruiz Blasco, was
a Castilian art teacher in Malaga and his mother, Maria Picasso, was an Andalusian of Majorcan
origin. In 1896 Picasso entered the school of fine arts where his father was a professor.

Picasso's Rose Period was a result of the happiness he found with one of his mistress and
started soon after they met in 1904. During this period, his works were filled with delicate pinks and
the figures, while still somewhat sad, were not desolate as the subjects of the Blue Period had been;
figures became more lively and family groups replaced the lonely prostitutes and beggars of earlier
works.

Picasso, who liked to attend the Medrano Circus with his friends, became influenced and
aroused with what he saw. This resulted in many portraits of circus people and circus life in general.
Such portraits are as follows: "Girl on a Ball" (1905, State Pushkin Museum of Fine
Arts, Moscow), "Taciturn and Androgynous Harlequins", "Flatness of
Frescoes", "Family of Saltimbanques" and also his famous "Woman with a
Fan", an unsmiling woman who raises a hand as though bidding farewell to the works of
Picasso's youth.
It was during a stay at Gosol, in Spain, in the summer of 1906, that he began to paint
solid, distorted female nudes at there toilets, seen in "The Coiffure" (Metropolitan
Museum of Fine Art, New York City), "Nude on Red Background"

Pablo Picasso The impact of Pablo Picasso on modern art is unprecedented, as his responsible for
the development and expansion of many art genres. His unique views on how we perceive art and
his ability to take inspiration from more obscure and unorthodox art forms tool the traditional
mindset of the world by storm. Pablo Picasso can be considered the greatest artist of the 20th
century because of his contributions to making modern art what it is today.
What made Picasso revolutionary was his ability in many art forms. He is also notable for being

the attention of collectors. He also met Henri Matisse in 1905, another revolutionary artist who he

age of 30. In 1918, he married Olga Khokhlova, who would introduce him to high–end circles,
which aided in him later achieving lifetime fame. Over the course of his life, Picasso would end up
having four children with three different women. Picasso kept on painting until his death on April 8,
1973.

Overview
Picasso's Blue Period began in 1901, either in Spain or in Paris. This was when he was a very poor
man, and his subjects reflect that. At the same time, his close friend Carlos Casagemas committed
suicide, which hurt Picasso greatly. This off mental state is portrayed throughout his paintings made
during his Blue Period. The defining characteristic of this time is that all of his paintings were
painted using different shades of the color blue, a melancholy color in general, which what these
paintings project. Throughout this time, Picasso was described as struggling with depression.

"Guernica" by Pablo Picasso was a black and white, mural oil painting created in June of 1937 on a
349 cm × 776 cm (137.4 in × 305.5 in) canvas. The piece represents the chaos that flooded the
Spanish town of Guernica after a vicious bombing by the German and Italian forces during the
Spanish Civil War. What followed was a senseless slaughter and bloodshed with the primary focus
being the demoralization of the Basque people. The painting depicts suffering people, animals, and
buildings wrenched by violence and chaos. On the far left, there is a bull standing over what appears
to be a woman grieving over a dead child, held in her arms. On the far right we see a figure

Picasso plays with shadows and contrast to not only give the painting depth, but also as a form of
symbolism between the darkness and gloom of the massacre and the light peaking through cracks
which represents hope that is unattainable. The contrast also adds emphasis on areas of focus such
as with the bull at the far left and the floating head. Lines are also used for this purpose, as they
direct the viewers eye primarily to the horse near the center of the painting. There are many subtle
hidden messages within this piece that leave a haunting impression on the viewer. The bull and
horse are both essential parts of Spanish culture and play important roles in the meaning of this
painting. They illustrate both the brutalization and dehumanization of humanity during wartime, as
well as the animalistic response that all living things experience when coming into close proximity
with fear and death. Furthermore, the bull represents Spain itself, which still stands, triumphant and
peaceful after such a brutal and horrendous act of violence. The overall attitude of the painting
however is less optimistic, with brutality and chaos being the general tone. The dove inscribed in the
wall represents lost hope, as well as the glimmers of light coming in between the crack of the walls.
The broken sword and flower growing from the dismembered hand represents the birth and death of
life at the hands of humanity. The main

Colombia and his family then moved to Medellin shortly after his death. While still a kid he grew
up very poor, just like the rest of the area he was born in. From his birth he was just a normal kid
living in a normal family that didn't have the funds to adequately support him. Although he was very
poor his family wanted him to get an education, and so they sent him to many schools. Although his
parents wanted to get him an education he was sent home from two schools for not having enough

Pablo Picasso Contributions
Pablo Picasso was a significant man. During the twentieth century he was known as one of the most
influential artist. Picasso was not a man to jump in the boat of mainstream. If society had a ranking
chart, he would be at the top in the art realm. Creating ones' own type of art shows characteristics of
adaptation, loud opinions, realness, taking head to their emotions, come to find the solutions to their
problems, and acceptance.
As a little boy born in Malaga, Spain on October 25, 1881, his parents did not know he would be a
child prodigy. An expatriate painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, and stage designer; just shows
how diverse he was. Not just a basic love for art did he have, some say he was radical in his work.
Over thee fourths of his life, he devoted his whole being to his art, he believed this was the best
thing for his body. As a 14 year old, he began putting his work out in the open. He believed that
leaving Spain and set out towards Paris would help him further his love for art.
A young boy with self–confidence, strong will, and a mind focused on enormous dreams. From a
young age Pablo knew he wanted to be a creator. He wanted to paint, sculpt, draw, etc. for the
entertainment of others. His father was also an artist, so here is where Picasso found his love for art.
Growing up around his fathers' relish and passion for art; he was accustomed to the things an artist
has to do to pursue their dream. Picasso also saw his father as an educator, as he was a professor at
the school of fine arts as well as a curator at the museum in Malaga. When he grew old enough,
Picasso studied under his father for one year at the school of fine arts: then he decided to transfer to
the Academy of Arts for one year. Not knowing at the time he was going to move to Paris to practice
new styles. During that time he was working from the Blue period to the Rose period. As these
periods were going on he was practicing mastering Cubism, Surrealism, and Realism. Georges
Braque's made a contribution to Picasso in the thought of creating Cubism: as where Picasso made
major contributions in the creating of Symbolism and Surrealism. Picasso invented the collage; this
is sticking pre–existing materials into new designs.

Multiple Perspectives of Neruda's "Song of Despair" Pablo Neruda is known as one of the greatest
Spanish–American writers of all time. He is a Chilean poet whose words have impacted many and
will continue to impact many more. Through his powerful romanticism, Neruda can express misery
or passion in a single line. One of his pieces in particular, "Poema 20," "Tonight I Can Write," or
"Song of Despair" expresses hidden emotions in the deepest way possible. This poem is from a
collection he wrote called, "In Veinte Poemas," which he composed on his journey to the Old World,
in places like Lisbon and Rangoon. In the "Song of Despair" the narrator seems to have had a

The realization that the speaker has in this poem is that he once loved a woman, but he no longer
does. "The night wind revolves in the sky and sings," (Line 5) includes personification of nature and
Earth. The irony comes when the world "revolve" is put into perspective. This repetitive poem is
solely circular as it views the same patterns of topic and emotion several times. This also helps to set
the melancholy tone that the speaker possesses throughout the entire piece, adding to the unfeminist
tone as well. "And the verse falls to the soul like dew to the pasture," (Line 15) shows that the
speaker is fully examining and comparing his emotions and his words on paper. His words fall as his
emotions fall. The symbolism in this poem displays how often Pablo Neruda uses them as "symbolic
vehicles" for the poet's salvation and self–discovery (Perez–Firmat). It is only near the end of the
poem that the speaker acknowledges the woman and her physical experience. "Her voice, her bright
body. Her infinite eyes." (Line 27) Just before this line the speaker questions his love for her,
proving that he is consistently drawing back and forth between mixed emotions. In lines 3 and 4,
"The night is starry and the stars are blue and shiver in the distance." could possibly show that the
stars allude to the speaker's

Jorge because he and his brother, Juan David, were working for one of the first Colombian cocaine
chiefs, Fabio Restrepo. He wanted to sell Restrepo fourteen kilos of uncut cocaine. The Ochoa
brothers were not impressed with this sale due to the small nature of it. However, the brothers would

Pablo Escobar was now leading the cocaine business in Colombia. The cocaine that was sold on the
streets of the United States was a white powder called cocaine hydrochloride. At first the coca
leaves were not grown in Colombia. Most of the coca leaves and paste were imported from
neighboring countries like Bolivia and Peru. Escobar knew this was not the most efficient way to
make money. He began to hand out the coca seeds to the peasants and encouraged them to grow the

Pablo Neruda. Influence of war, communism and love on his poetry
¨You can cut all the flowers, but you cannot keep spring from coming¨ (Horden). There are two
perspectives this quote can be observed from. First, repression exerted by fascist dictators won't
keep democracy from coming. Second, even if you avoid temptations, love will make its way
through. Pablo Neruda was born in Chile but lived most of his life away from his country. Poems in
which he talks about being away from home will be constant during his life. Neruda started writing

He wrote poems with the intention of recruiting people for the communist cause or to encourage
USSR soldiers during WWII. In a Love Song to Stalingrad, he condemns the Nazi aggression to
Russia and honors the "brave" (Neruda) men fighting against fascism. This kind of political
literature is a reaction to the events he experienced during the Spanish Civil War and the horror
caused by right extremism ideals. His poems and speeches made his a referent of the Spanish
speaking left during the 1950's and 1960's. His activism and popularity among the left made him
become the Presidential Candidate of the Communist Party in Chile, a position he declined. Politics
also made Neruda, a poet, write not only poems but also articles that defended the communist
ideals. This had a great impact on his life. First, boosting his political career, but ultimately having
him killed. Neruda guided his life and actions by what he believed was the best way to help the

CONFLICT IN ART The evidence of conflict in art is present from the beginning of civilization to
the present day. We can see early examples of representations of conflict such as the twenty–
centimetre–wide rock painting dated 8000–3000BC and found in the Gasulla gorge near Castellon,
Spain, showing a ritual dance involving bows and arrows which can be seen as a war or hunting

This interview with the title 'Why I joined the Communist Party' was first published in condensed

understood that that alone wasn't enough therefore he stated 'I must fight not only through my art,
but with all myself' (Picasso, AIT, 648) His Communist Party membership caused tensions among
the world of art, especially with Socialist Realism artists as after Picasso denied any symbolic
meaning in his works they claimed that his Communism had no substance. In 1945, in an interview
with the French journalist Simone Tery he was told of these claims before he wrote 'Statement to

He painted in a style that was strongly influenced by the African sculptures. The huge achievement
of this period was Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (1907). He abandoned the traditional art and used
distortions and geometric forms to create female figures which was challenging to the expectations
of others. Later, because of patriotic and political issues, he denied that African art never inspired
him. In the next period Cubism (1909–1914) Picasso worked with dimension and moved towards
abstraction. It was like different objects are broken apart and then reassembled in abstract forms.
Cubism stunned and fascinated the art world. Braque said "It made me feel as if someone was
drinking gasoline and spitting fire" (Biography.com, 2015) explaining his feelings when he first saw
the paintings. Cubism changed avant–garde all over again. Cubism had two branches Analytic
(1909–1912) and synthetic (1912–1914). Analytic cubist analyzed the natural forms and represented
them using geometric shapes and often monochromatic palette. E.g. Girl with a Mandolin (1910),

Analysis Of Pablo Neruda
In most cases, texts that are translated lose meaning, as sometimes words from a native language
cannot be translated exactly into a desired language, or they lose context. World literature
translations also lead to the 'dangers of a single story' where you only get to read one side of the
story (the one of the author) without having a perspective of the natives about the story that was
written. To understand, how language is used in world literature, and how text translations change
our understanding and meaning of the text, we need to be able to understand the culture, have
historical understanding of the time the literary work was written, and factors that might affect
society in which the author had written. When one wants to study world literature, they need to
consider that translations of the text smooths out not only linguistics richness but also the original
and political force a work can have in its original context. World literature needs to be studied with
close attention to the original language and context, including works that have new meaning and
take new dimensions abroad. There is a shift that unfolds on the internal logic of the work itself, but
often come as complex dynamic of cultural change and contestation. For a work to be considered a
valuable piece in world literature it must be read first as literature, and secondly circulate into a
broader world beyond linguistic and cultural point of origins. Pablo Neruda's poems are post–

He tried to stay on a low radar as much as possible like any criminal would. To him getting caught
up with the law would pull time away from his drug trade business. If he was distracted from his
business for any reason, he would be losing money. IF he was losing money or money was ever
slowed down, he wouldn't like it one bit. We humans nowadays are pushed and motivated by
money. In today's society everything requires money, and if you're not getting money, you can do
much in life and in society. The same goes for Mr. Escobar, even though he had millions, to even
billions of dollars, he wanted more money. So with everything he was doing from drug trades, to
sending hitman to murder people; he would try and stay on a low radar as much as possible. In the
1990s, Pablo Escobar's system was good the Colombian government couldn't take him down as easy
they thought they could. The United States kept pushing the Colombian government to extradite Mr.
Escobar, but Mr. Escobar feared that option. That was the only thing Pablo Escobar was truly scared
of in his lifetime to be extradited to the United States. Finally, in 1991 Mr. Escobar's lawyers and
Colombian authorities came up with a plan to settle all the debate. A reliable source from
latinamericanhistory.about.com states "Escobar turned himself in and serve a five–year jail term. In
return he would build his own prison and would not be extradited to the United State or anywhere
else." (Christopher Minster, 2012). The prison he built was called "La Catedral". This prison wasn't
your ordinary prison. This was a paradise palace for Mr. Escobar, but many think that he isn't in a
prison. Pablo Escobar's was equipped with a waterfall, soccer field, helicopter pad, and much more.
In the United States, there are no prisons that are like Mr. Escobar's. Now that he is in "jail" you
would think Mr. Escobar gave up on his empire and business, but you thought wrong. Pablo Escobar

Pablo Picasso Chrysanthemums
The painting I chose was a painting of Chrysanthemums by Pablo Picasso. It is a very simple and
straightforward, yet captivating image. The way the petals on the flowers were painted are very
interesting, each of them were created with unique stroke of the brush. Picasso obviously wanted
viewers to focus only flowers as the foreground and background were left somewhat rugged and
undetailed. At first it may be hard to notice, however, it can be seen that the source of light for the
picture is on the left as the right side is painted with slightly darker colors. When positioned directly
in front of the painting the flowers actually do not seem as flowers at all. Only until you move
farther back will the blurry strokes of white and red actually

Narco's is a series on Netflix that revolves completely about a guy by the name of Pablo Escobar. In
this series, Pablo Escobar. an individual who grew up in a rough city in Columbia.
His father, a peasant farmer and mother, a school teacher. His mother and father struggled to provide
for Pablo and his siblings. Escobar was always eager to put his family on top when he was young,
he got his wrong start as a petty street burglar, stealing cars before moving into the smuggling
business. Escobar's early importance came during the "Marlboro Wars," in which he played a high–
profile role in the control of Colombia's smuggled cigarette market. This period proved to be a
valuable guidance ground for the upcoming narcotics kingpin. It wasn't ... Show more content on

Escobar is definitely a prime example when you think of deviance, but there always is a reason as to
why people do deviant behaviors. One reason for his deviant actions are due to his childhood of
living in harsh poverty conditions on the farm, Escobar was constantly around his father who would
verbally abuse Pablo. Escobar witnessed his dad slaughter several cattle in his time of living on the
farm, although he knew it was all for a means of food, Escobar was still exposed to gory visuals as a
young kid. Resulting to the violence that he partakes in. The second reason as to why he was such a
deviant individual was because he was always in stressful situations where he never had money
growing up, this forced him to hustle and commit several forms of crimes such as theft and burglary.
The last explanation as to why Pablo was the way he was, was because he never felt loved from his
father nor attention. No affection from a father figure could call for desperate cries for attention and
love. When Escobar didn't receive this attention from his dad he would go out with his friends and
vandalize properties so his dad would have to spend more time disciplining

Pablo Escobar
Pablo Escobar was born on December 1, 1949 in Rionegro, Columbia. His parents were Abel de
Jesus Dari Escobar, a farmer, and Hemilda Garvine, a teacher.1 His family was poor and because of
this, Pablo, at the age of five, promised his mother that he would give her everything. This was his
childhood ambition, along with being rich by the time he was 22.1 The fact that he was poor
motivated him and made him strive for power and money. He later became the most notorious and
richest drug lord and Columbian congressman.
Pablo Escobar, as far as personality goes, no one except those who knew him very personally could
tell you what he is like, but if you were to ask the people of Columbia and the people of the United

Pablo Escobar believed in respect and taking care of the people who cared for him, and even the
people who simply are of Columbia. I believe this played a huge part specifically in his candidacy.3
Those who disrespected him were killed immediately for his low tolerance of disrespect. All during
his career, he took care of his people, spoiling them, making sure they had everything they needed
and a little more. I think this philosophy came to be due to the fact that he lived in poverty and
would never want to see his people like that.
In 1976, Pablo Escobar and some of the men that work under him were arrested for possession of 39
kilograms of white paste, cocaine. Pablo attempted to bribe two Columbian judges but he failed and
later murdered the two cops that arrested him and his men. After this incident, his case was dropped
and he decided to handle situations involving authorities by bribing or killing them. 4
Handling a situation like this, I would have most likely try and bribe the authorities. Columbia's
government is corrupted so if I was in the same position, I would also do my best to convince them
with whatever I could. However, if that did not work out for me, I would not have murdered the
cops that had arrested me for they are only doing their jobs and in such a job, Escobar is the one at
fault. For the Columbian society, Pablo had a very positive impact since he was very giving to
Columbian.

Pablo Neruda Poem
Tonight I can write by Pablo Neruda. Pablo Neruda (Ricardo Eliécer Neftalí Reyes Basoalto) was
born on July 12, 1904,. He was born in the agricultural region of parral, Chile. Neruda was known
as a poetic when he was 10 years old. He won the noble prize for literature in 1971. The poem
Tonight I can write is a poem that describes the sadness of Neruda towards his ex–girlfriend.
Although, in this poem the poetic shows many techniques that helped the people to understand the
poem and the poetic feelings. So, what are the techniques and the themes that the poetic used and
how it impacts the poem? The themes of Pablo Neruda's poem is the love and passion, Neruda
describes and expresses his love and Passion towards his love for a woman. He remembers her great
eyes, the bright body and he remembers the kisses under the endless sky. Neruda still loves her
though he said twice that he no longer loves her. "Love is so short, forgetting is so long" the speaker
is trying to say that love can last for a moment or long ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pablo Neruda didn't use a lot of the literary devices, he used very strong imagery and some
personification with a bit of repetition. One of the examples of imagery when he said "the night is
shattered" he describes the night as a glass broken into many pieces and the sky was clear as a piece
of glass. Another example of imagery in the same stanza "the blue stars shiver in the distance" Pablo
Neruda creates imagery in the reader's mind by describing the blue sky that they are far away. The
other literary devices that Neruda used is personification when he said in line 4 "The night wind
revolves in the sky and sings" the wind can't sing unlike human, Neruda personifies that it is a way
to add some feeling and mode in the poem. The last literary device Neruda used is repetition and I
think that repetition was the common device in this poem. He used repetition three times in this

Pablo Picasso
Pablo Picasso is my choice because of 2 things; First is that anything that starts with the letter "P"
(like my name) usually goes well with me and second, because I am fascinated by the fact that
Picasso didn't do a different type of work aside from the current period he was in. For example, he
didn't use warm bright colors in his Blue period. It's fascinating to me because my artistic
"movements" don't concentrate on a particular medium and mood within a particular amount of
time; I am a very miscellaneous artist. The works I have chosen are, "The Old Guitarist" and
"Jacqueline with Flowers".
On October 5, 1881 Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios

" Three Women" and" Girl with Mandolin" were the well –known works in this period.
Later came the Classical Period which was occured during World War I which influenced Picasso's
art. This occured between 1918 and 1927. This was where the war had put him back to reality,
where he want to back to realism temporarily. Works inlcuded were " Three Women at the Spring"
and " The Pipes of Pan".
After his short Realism works, he went the opposite– Surrealism. The Surrealism period happened
since Picasso had caught up on cultural and philosophical movements from 1927. His most famous
work was finished during the Spanish Civil War in 1937. This work was called " Guernica" where
German Bombers attacked the town of Guernica. I consisted of the neutral colors of blacs, whites
and grays. It showed the horrors of war with facial expressions in pain. This piece was powerful and
moving against the idea of war in

Pablo Picasso Comparison

  • 1. Pablo Picasso Comparison Comparison piece My artwork was inspired by Pablo Picasso–––– Head of A Woman. It was painted in 1960 by oil. This artwork is a woman's head, but there are two parts on her face. One is the side view and one is the front view, which is the style of Picasso. Likewise, I cube my face in two part and the opposite side of my shoulder. In my view, that is the way Picasso used to show 3D of his work, by painting different sides of one object and put them in one piece. I used blocks of solid color in the background, line drawing, and sharp boundaries. In contrast. I focus a lot on details. In ancient Chinese art's, there are some elements that make me thought with Pablo Picasso. When people are painting, they would like to paint bigger on the object ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. The Artist Pablo Picasso The artist Pablo Picasso is quite possibly one of the most famous artists to ever live. While he was one of the greatest painters, he was also a man of many talents. He was a painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist and stage designer. Picasso was one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, as well as the co–founder of Cubism. His creativity, empathy, and mastery in the arts has led him to become such a revolutionary artist. He devoted his life to painting and artistic production for the simple fact of wanting to contribute to modern art in the 20th century. Picasso was born Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Martyr Patricio Clito Ruíz y Picasso on October 25th, 1881 in Málaga, Spain. Picasso's parents were Don José Ruiz Blasco and Doña María Picasso y López. Picasso's father was a painter and art teacher. Picasso was introduced to art by his father. Picasso showed a passion and displayed a prodigious talent for drawing at an early age. His father decided to formally train him, at the age of seven, in the art of oil painting and figure drawing. Picasso was a precocious boy whose budding talent grew to overshadow that of his father. By the time he was 13. The painting, Les Demoiselles d'Avignon, was painted by Picasso in the year 1907 and is the most famous example of cubism painting, as it is considered the first cubist piece of artwork. With this piece Picasso marked an extensive break from the traditional characteristics of painting, he abandoned all aspects of traditional art with this piece. He veered far from the representation and form often seen in traditional art at the time. He depicted five naked women prostitutes in a brothel, but the women were far from realistic. Picasso had drawn them nothing like the traditional paintings of women. Their bodies were made up of flat, splintered planes rather than rounded volumes, their eyes were drawn lopsided, and their faces were off putting. With this painting Picasso did things that no other artist had contemplated at the time. This visual violent piece evokes and liberates eroticism. This piece and its unbinding desire was unprecedented in art and in the culture of that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Pablo, The King Of Coke Pablo Escobar (or Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria) is frequently signified as the "King of coke". This Colombian drug lord who is if not or most notorious and effective cocaine smuggler in history. Out of Rionegro, Columbia on December 1, 1949, Escobar is born and was a leader of one of the largest cocaine handling and supply groups in the world. Escobar's desire and mercilessness made him one of the wealthiest, most influential and vicious criminals of all time. Born in December 1949, Escobar was a son of a teacher and peasant of Columbia, Pablo's wrong choice of path started at a premature age. Details about Escobar's life start at the age of 6. During Escobar's childhood, his entire family struggled to survive, the fourth of six children to Abel de Jesus Escobar (father), a peasant, and Hemilda Gaviria (mother), an elementary school teacher. Pablo's family lived in a hut that had no electricity, but did have running water. By the type of lifestyle Pablo lived it would put him in the middle class status part of Columbia at that time. For instance, one day Roberto Escobar (brother) and Pablo would always walk to school due to the fact that they had no money to receive transportation from a bus. The distance from Pablo's home and the school is equivalent to an hour walk. Pablo and his brother walked to school so often, Pablo decided to go to school with no shoes and upon arriving to class Pablo's teacher told him to go back home. Feeling humiliated, once Pablo got ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Guernica By Pablo Picasso Guernica Guernica was painted in 1937 by Pablo Picasso. It stands at 11'6'' tall and 25'6'' wide and is considered one of the most powerful paintings ever created. The work depicts the bombing of the city Guernica in Spain. The painting is a great piece of art because of its symbolism, solemn mood, and it contains many artistic elements. Don't change sentence structure at the end. Change "contains many artistic elements" to fit in with the rest of the list. Tensions were high in 1937 in Europe with World War Two on the rise. Spain was controlled by Francisco Franco, a friend of Hitler. Picasso was born in Spain and was devastated to see it be ruled by a fascist who has taken over the country. Hitler, preparing for a world war, was making new weapons and asked Franco if he could test them on a spanish city. On April 26, 1937, the German Condor Legion bombed the city of Guernica in Northern Spain, all with the permission of Franco. The bombing killed over a thousand people and left the world shocked. Picasso's oil painting on canvas captures both the reactions of the public and the pain of the innocent civilians who died. Guernica was originally panned by critics in the world. Many people criticized Picasso's style of painting the event; calling it an "unrealistic painting," and "a dream of a madman."Actually, most people wouldn't have known that the painting was about the bombing if there wasn't a title. In spite of his affairs, he remained married to María Victoria until his death. Escobar's first serious run–in with the law was in 1976, when he and some associates were caught returning from a drug run to Ecuador. Escobar ordered the killing of the arresting officers, and the case was soon dropped. Later, at the height of his power, Escobar's wealth and ruthlessness made it almost impossible for Colombian authorities to bring him to justice. Every time any attempt was made to limit his power, those responsible were bribed, killed, or otherwise neutralized. Pressure was mounting, however, from the United States government, which wanted Escobar extradited to face drug charges. Escobar had to use all of his power and terror to prevent extradition. In 1991, due to increasing pressure to extradite Escobar, the Colombian government and Escobar's lawyers came up with an interesting arrangement: Escobar would turn himself in and serve a five– year jail term. It was so unbelievable on how much money Pablo was making in a year, especially in a MONTH! They presented pictures on how much cocaine was found in one laboratory, out of hundreds of them. The labs is where they would pack the cocaine in plastic bags. Also, the ways on how they would smuggle the cocaine were unbelievable. Who would have ever thought of looking in a fruit for drugs? That was really impressive. The way how he would have people killed was extremely viscous! People's bodies would be tortured and ripped apart. • 9. Pablo Neruda Metaphors Poems are a way for people to express their feelings in an art form that provides enough literary clues and expressive qualities to help a reader understand what is being expressed. Pablo Neruda became a legendary poet in his lifetime from 1904 to 1973 in Chile. He never failed to leave a part of himself in each of his poems for the reader to either identify with or interpret, which is most evident in his use of metaphor. His metaphors can be labelled as being 'open', for they provide literal comparisons between two completely unrelated ideas, which leave room for personal interpretation. Because of the confusion evident in those connections, the reader is immersed into the metaphor and its resulting tone, mood, and connotative meanings. Pablo ... As the poem concludes in the sixth line, the reader is softly coasted to the end of the poem. This overlapped with his transition into using "warmer" brown and red palette colors and his shift away from depicting depressing themes to a more neutral stance, both of which defined his Rose Period (c.1904–1907). Picasso's work during these years is still generally considered to be proto– cubist, as it included some semi–realistic elements and geometry. Picasso's interest in African (particularly African Tribal) influences is usually considered something of a brief flirtation that formed a stepping stone to his lifelong infatuation with depicting subversive cubist geometries. His experiments with African themes are considered to have concluded by the start of 1910, in favour of focusing on developing his (then) more successful 1908 experiments in "Analytical Cubism" into a coherent genre of painting. Nevertheless, Picasso never entirely abandoned his interest in Africa. Some much later work such as the painting Musician (1972) can be said to contain the same influences. Certainly, the enduring influence of some elements of the African Period on Picasso can be seen throughout the work that followed on from it. This is particularly so in Picasso's approach to facial structure and depiction of the human body after 1909. One of his most highly regarded paintings, Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (1907), also emerged as an iconic work from his exploration of tribal African depictions of the human form. ... What followed was a senseless slaughter and bloodshed with the primary focus being the demoralization of the Basque people. The painting depicts suffering people, animals, and buildings wrenched by violence and chaos. On the far left, there is a bull standing over what appears to be a woman grieving over a dead child, held in her arms. On the far right we see a figure entrapped by flames. The shape of his hand suggests that of an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Picasso plays with shadows and contrast to not only give the painting depth, but also as a form of symbolism between the darkness and gloom of the massacre and the light peaking through cracks which represents hope that is unattainable. The contrast also adds emphasis on areas of focus such as with the bull at the far left and the floating head. Lines are also used for this purpose, as they direct the viewers eye primarily to the horse near the center of the painting. There are many subtle hidden messages within this piece that leave a haunting impression on the viewer. The bull and horse are both essential parts of Spanish culture and play important roles in the meaning of this painting. They illustrate both the brutalization and dehumanization of humanity during wartime, as well as the animalistic response that all living things experience when coming into close proximity with fear and death. Furthermore, the bull represents Spain itself, which still stands, triumphant and peaceful after such a brutal and horrendous act of violence. The overall attitude of the painting however is less optimistic, with brutality and chaos being the general tone. The dove inscribed in the wall represents lost hope, as well as the glimmers of light coming in between the crack of the walls. The broken sword and flower growing from the dismembered hand represents the birth and death of life at the hands of humanity. The main ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Pablo Picasso Contributions Pablo Picasso was a significant man. During the twentieth century he was known as one of the most influential artist. Picasso was not a man to jump in the boat of mainstream. If society had a ranking chart, he would be at the top in the art realm. Creating ones' own type of art shows characteristics of adaptation, loud opinions, realness, taking head to their emotions, come to find the solutions to their problems, and acceptance. As a little boy born in Malaga, Spain on October 25, 1881, his parents did not know he would be a child prodigy. An expatriate painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, and stage designer; just shows how diverse he was. Not just a basic love for art did he have, some say he was radical in his work. Over thee fourths of his life, he devoted his whole being to his art, he believed this was the best thing for his body. As a 14 year old, he began putting his work out in the open. He believed that leaving Spain and set out towards Paris would help him further his love for art. A young boy with self–confidence, strong will, and a mind focused on enormous dreams. From a young age Pablo knew he wanted to be a creator. He wanted to paint, sculpt, draw, etc. for the entertainment of others. His father was also an artist, so here is where Picasso found his love for art. Growing up around his fathers' relish and passion for art; he was accustomed to the things an artist has to do to pursue their dream. Picasso also saw his father as an educator, as he was a professor at the school of fine arts as well as a curator at the museum in Malaga. When he grew old enough, Picasso studied under his father for one year at the school of fine arts: then he decided to transfer to the Academy of Arts for one year. Not knowing at the time he was going to move to Paris to practice new styles. During that time he was working from the Blue period to the Rose period. As these periods were going on he was practicing mastering Cubism, Surrealism, and Realism. He is a Chilean poet whose words have impacted many and will continue to impact many more. Through his powerful romanticism, Neruda can express misery or passion in a single line. One of his pieces in particular, "Poema 20," "Tonight I Can Write," or "Song of Despair" expresses hidden emotions in the deepest way possible. This poem is from a collection he wrote called, "In Veinte Poemas," which he composed on his journey to the Old World, in places like Lisbon and Rangoon. The realization that the speaker has in this poem is that he once loved a woman, but he no longer does. "The night wind revolves in the sky and sings," (Line 5) includes personification of nature and Earth. The irony comes when the world "revolve" is put into perspective. This repetitive poem is solely circular as it views the same patterns of topic and emotion several times. This also helps to set the melancholy tone that the speaker possesses throughout the entire piece, adding to the unfeminist tone as well. "And the verse falls to the soul like dew to the pasture," (Line 15) shows that the speaker is fully examining and comparing his emotions and his words on paper. His words fall as his emotions fall. The symbolism in this poem displays how often Pablo Neruda uses them as "symbolic vehicles" for the poet's salvation and self–discovery (Perez–Firmat). It is only near the end of the poem that the speaker acknowledges the woman and her physical experience. "Her voice, her bright body. Her infinite eyes." (Line 27) Just before this line the speaker questions his love for her, proving that he is consistently drawing back and forth between mixed emotions. INTRODUCTION TO CONFLICT IN ART The evidence of conflict in art is present from the beginning of civilization to the present day. We can see early examples of representations of conflict such as the twenty– centimetre–wide rock painting dated 8000–3000BC and found in the Gasulla gorge near Castellon, Spain, showing a ritual dance involving bows and arrows which can be seen as a war or hunting dance. However after years of oppression he understood that that alone wasn't enough therefore he stated 'I must fight not only through my art, but with all myself' (Picasso, AIT, 648) His Communist Party membership caused tensions among the world of art, especially with Socialist Realism artists as after Picasso denied any symbolic meaning in his works they claimed that his Communism had no substance. • 33. Analysis Of Pablo Neruda In most cases, texts that are translated lose meaning, as sometimes words from a native language cannot be translated exactly into a desired language, or they lose context. World literature translations also lead to the 'dangers of a single story' where you only get to read one side of the story (the one of the author) without having a perspective of the natives about the story that was written. To understand, how language is used in world literature, and how text translations change our understanding and meaning of the text, we need to be able to understand the culture, have historical understanding of the time the literary work was written, and factors that might affect society in which the author had written. When one wants to study world literature, they need to consider that translations of the text smooths out not only linguistics richness but also the original and political force a work can have in its original context. World literature needs to be studied with close attention to the original language and context, including works that have new meaning and take new dimensions abroad. There is a shift that unfolds on the internal logic of the work itself, but often come as complex dynamic of cultural change and contestation. For a work to be considered a valuable piece in world literature it must be read first as literature, and secondly circulate into a broader world beyond linguistic and cultural point of origins.
