Interview With Soft Skills
If asked in an interview what soft skills you possess, most people would say the obvious ones such as friendliness, hardworking, punctual, team
player, etc. but in today's business world you will have to be much more convincing than that. Most of us would tell a potential employer those
skills that we believe the employer would want us to possess. It is not that easy anymore as employers are looking for more. Soft skills are
increasingly sought out by employers in addition to standard qualifications. Soft skills are behavioral competencies. Also known as interpersonal
skills or people skills (Pazhani & Priya, 2012). Many times an employer will start your interview without you knowing it. They will watch your
interaction with people and your overall demeanor. For women going after a leadership or managerial position, soft skills such as strength,
independence, fearlessness, and intelligence are sought after as these are characteristics of successful leaders (Plietz, 2012). ... Show more content on

Every healthcare leader must possess these skills to achieve lasting change (Verdon, 2015). If your intention is to make a difference in healthcare
and you feel you already have the soft skills discussed, then you should continue to refine them as well as work on other skills needed to be
successful in your career. There will always be soft skills to learn or sharpen no matter what career you choose. To truly know ourselves, we must

Why Do College Graduates Get Hired?
According to the Economic Policy Institute, nearly 25% of college graduates are either unemployed or underemployed – a term which means they are
employed at a job beneath that which is appropriate for their skill level. (Knowledgeatwharton). This is a serious issue and raises some important
questions for both college graduates and the institutions from which they obtained their degrees. In this paper, I will be discussing what I believe to be
the primary source of this problem, the impact it has on college graduates, and a solution, which Butler Community College could implement would
work towards rectifying this issue in our local community.
To more fully understand the source of this predicament, we have to look at two key terms, "technical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And in the case of college graduates this lack of preparedness is shocking. According to the "2016 Workforce–Skills Preparedness Report" put out by
PayScale, 60% of managers felt like graduates were lacking in critical thinking and problem solving, 56% felt they had insufficient attention to detail,
and 46% thought graduates lacked proper communication skills. And unfortunately for graduates, they often don't realize that they are so
underprepared for the world ahead. According to the same report, 87% of college graduates think that they are prepared for to work, while only 50%
of managers would agree.
And the college graduate skills gap creates issues not only for the unemployed and underemployed graduates themselves, but also for the companies
looking to hire them. In her Time piece, Martha White writes:
The annual global Talent Shortage Survey from ManpowerGroup finds that nearly 1 in 5 employers worldwide can't fill positions because they can't
find people with soft skills. Specifically, companies say candidates are lacking in motivation, interpersonal skills, appearance, punctuality and flexibility.

Reflective Essay On Social Work
As a senior, I thought this was the perfect time to get an in–depth look at a career field that I was considering. The main reason I decided to take a
career internship was to be exposed to a side of business that I had not been previously and to see if it is something I may want to pursue. The spring
semester included interning at the Yadkin Valley Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber of Commerce is located on East Market Street in Elkin, North
Carolina. The time of the internship period was mid–day from 11:30 A.M to 1:00 P.M. This time frame allowed me to be exposed to many lunch
meetings that took place. My mentor, Myra Cook, is the president of the Chamber of Commerce. Her role is to help businesses succeed and to promote
them to the town of Elkin. At the Yadkin Valley Chamber of Commerce, many valuable skills were learned such as: filing, how to make contacts with
different businesses, and planning different community events. In the future, I want to major in non–profit management and social work with hopes of
opening my own non–profit someday. My non–profit organization would focus on teaching people who did not receive a proper education learn job
and interview skills and help them enter the workforce.
When first arriving at the Chamber of Commerce, the first thing that is done is filing the new paperwork, bills, and receipts. Throughout the day,
typical duties include answering phone calls and helping travellers that come in to the chamber. These travellers typically ask

Soft Skills Research Paper
Soft skills are personnel attributes to how people connect with each other, the world around us and build relationships. Eight key components of soft
skills I believe to play an essential role in my teaching career are creativity, problem solving, critical thinking, leadership, communication, collaboration,
and flexibility . Obtaining these skills will strengthen and enhance my ability to perform exceptionally well and be able to contribute and challenge the
minds of my students. Surprisingly enough, more than one of these soft skills can be combined with or another when applying it to you as a teacher.

The Value Of Waste Control
Mass customization of products has become a common approach in manufacturing organizations. Explain the ways in which mass customization can
be applied to service firms as well. In many ways mass customization has always been a factor that service firms have necessarily embraced. The
intangible business of dealing with people directly and providing services is by nature customized to individuals involved in the transaction(s). What
mass customization of products in manufacturing contexts can provide to service organizations by way of example; are the models of lean
manufacturing, kaizen and organizational structure. Lean manufacturing teaches the value of waste control, kaizen frames continuous improvement and
the common factor between these approaches is highly trained employees (Daft, 2016). Highly trained employees who are empowered and versed in
both technical aspects and soft skill aspects of customer interaction; best support a service organization. A service organization employee has to be able
to address customized requests at each interaction, which is why service firms are "labor and knowledge intensive" (Daft, 2016, p. 273) when
compared to the product focus of a manufacturing firm. Although there is that clear difference in focus (or expenditure) between a manufacturing
organization and a service organization, an organic structure is most applicable for both. Highly trained and empowered employees function best in an
organic, decentralized environment

A project team can be developed by using effective communication, establishing trust among team members, managing conflicts in a constructive
manner, and encouraging collaborative problem–solving. The main goal of team development is to help people work together more effectively to

Storming: As the team members begin to work together, they move into the storming phase. Storming often starts when team members' work styles

Norming: Gradually, the team moves into the norming stage, when people start to resolve their differences and to work more effectively as a team.
Team members are no longer focused on their individual goals, but rather are focused on developing a way of working together. In this stage, the team
has developed a common working method; they has agreed on how they will resolve team conflict; and cooperation replace the conflict and mistrust of
the previous phase.
Performing: this stage occurs when the emphasis is on reaching the team's goals rather than working on team process. This is supported by the
structures and processes that the team have set up. At this stage, the team is able to manage tasks that are more complex and cope with greater change.
Adjourning: this stage involves the break–up of the team after it successfully reaches its goals and completes the work. The project is coming to an

The Influence Of Soft Skills In The Military
Abstract
Soft skills influence mission success. We constantly work to maintain tactical and technical proficiency, also known our hard skills. Hard skills are
trainable and measurable. We must also understand and develop those soft skill tools which are much harder to evaluate in training, but no less
important. The combination of these skill sets greatly enhance our ability to fight and win our nation's wars. Cultural awareness, communication, and
negotiation have always been needed during armed conflict and will continue to do so. In a period of consistent conflict, with resources constraints, the

Soft Skills And Race Summary
"Soft Skills and Race" is about racial inequality the racial gap in male employment rates. The article focuses on the difficulties that Black males face in
securing employment in urban areas to illustrate this issue. The main point that the authors try to get across is that unemployment is in issue in the
Black community, mostly due to prejudices and stereotypes about blacks, specifically about Black men, that need to be resolved. They assert that the
growing importance of "soft skills," or social skills, attitude, and personality, has not been used to explain the racial gap in male employment rates, even
though research has shown that employers of entry–level work believe it is the most important hiring criterion. The decline of unskilled... Show more

chance of securing employment. Liberals would view their article in a very positive light and agree with it, while both Conservative ideologies would

exists because of Black males individual life choices, such as a decision to attain a higher level of education, rather than focusing on the minority group

What is a Skill?
A skill is learned ability and capacity to carry out pre–determined steps needed to pursue career in professional objectives with minimum of time and

The soft skill I would like to build upon the most is mentoring and coaching skills. Normally when I hear mentoring and coaching I think of
someone that is or may be troubled. That may not always be the case. Mentoring and coaching is providing constructive wisdom, guidance, and or
feedback that can help others further their development in many areas. I strongly feel that this would be beneficial to my life and those around me.

Economy will be discussed and described. The discussion includes facts such as the introduction of the Experience Economy by Pine and Gilmore. In
addition, an analysis on the impact that the Experience Economy has had on the Hospitality Industry will addressed, incorporating key concepts such as
modern management, soft skills, and emotional experience.
Since the 1950's, the world's economy has gone through several changes, from an agrarian economy to an industrial economy, then to a service–based
economy and then to the experience economy. "The term 'Experience Economy' was first introduced by Joseph Pine and James Gilmore in 1999. The
concept is that goods and services are no longer enough for consumers – that businesses must create memorable events and experiences that capture
their audience and create experiences that transform their brand's value proposition." (Frias, 2014) Despite being introduced in 1999, the concept of
the Experience Economy has already existed in some extablishments to gain a large and growing customer base. The Hospitality Industry is an
example of this. "For example, on July 17th, 1955, the pioneer of the Experience Economy, as Pine calls him, Walt Disney

Managing A Business Or Even A Team
In the future what will it take to manage a business or even a team? How will that manager first build his team, what assets will he have to be able to
not only hire the best employee, but retain, motivate and reward those who are highly productive and drive the company towards its vision? How will
a manager be able to do this within a down–sized environment with only half the staff yet double the work load? This paper will look at how a
manager must in the future be hands on yet stand back and let those under him do their jobs, how the manager can with proper planning assure not
only the best get hired but compensated, rewarded and retained, all while being highly motivated driving the company forward to attain its vision
and goals. The importance of teams in most organizations is huge, and the emphasis on being able to work and conduct business in either a local or
international setting will only become a larger factor in the future when business will be forced to bring in specialist from the outside or various
company locations to work in a team environment. Having personal whose egos aren't bigger than the mission/vision statement or so frail that when
things go wrong they will become a distraction or a show stopper. Knowing that others bring different views, aspects and ideas to the table, that all
ideas can be used, its just finding the best idea for that particular issue. That people working together as a team can accomplish more that if working

What Is Soft Skills Essay
Soft Skills enhance professional life
It might be our hard skills that get us the interview, but it's the soft skills that bring us success in our career. Soft skills are our personal capabilities
that determine how well we work with others, job performance, communication and all of the other things that make us different from every other
expert in our field. While technical expertise is very important, soft skills are much harder to learn. These can be a deciding factor in getting and
keeping our dream job. The important soft skills that will make people successful in the career or in the classroom are.

Being adaptable will also increase our ability to communicate with others and build strong relationships, which are something, every leader should
possess to be successful. Some ways to improve this skill include:
Welcome ambiguity
Think creatively
Be open–minded and non–judgmental
Don't overdo it
Be self–aware
Be flexible
Learn to Listen
The importance of public speaking is always spoken about, but it's important to remember that listening is just as imperative. Genuinely listening to
someone else helps improve relationships, solve problems, ensure understanding and much more. Some ways to improve this skill include:
Invest our self fully in each interaction
Look at it from their point of view
Let them finish before we ask a question
Make eye contact
Have a Sense of Humor
While this may seem less important compared to the other critical soft skills listed, it is by far one of the most important skills. Laughing not only
reduces stress, but it is essential when working with other colleagues and being overall successful in life. Some ways to improve this skill include:

Soft Skills
The aim of this essay is to analyse the relation between the increased demand for 'soft' skills on recruitment and selection policies. It will firstly
evaluate specific methods and then it will discuss the result of these policies on retention and organisation culture. The essay will also investigate the
possible implications and the significance of 'soft' skills in recruitment and selection in the service sector. It will argue that control plays an important
role in the relationship that develops between employees, employers and customers.
The shift towards a service–oriented business environment in the UK has been influenced by several economic, ideological and political changes that
took place during the 1980s and the 1990s. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For this reason, the selection process has begun to use more sophisticated methods in order to increase the validity and reliability of having the best
employee for the organization (Marchington and Wilkison, 2005). For example, in terms of validity, organisations are advised to use structured
interviews and cognitive ability tests. In terms of reliability, there are three crucial factors: testing being carried out at different times, the use of two
interviewers and repeating the test (Newell, 2005).
Nevertheless, these methods cannot predict employees' turnover. Morrell et al. (2001) discuss about two key concepts: voluntary and involuntary
turnover. Voluntary turnover relates to the employee's decision to leave such as illness or personal reasons. While, involuntary turnover relates to
company related problems such as the need to cut costs or to downsize. Even if organisations develop means to identify the characteristics that
influence turnover, neither of these two types can be successfully foreseen during the recruitment process. As a result, employers need to secure long
term employment since a labour turnover will have a high cost both in terms of recruitment and selection and in terms of training sessions meant to
enhance the employees' soft skills. (Beardwell and Claydon, 2010).

Discuss the 'people skills' or 'soft skills' required in the 21 st century managers' essential toolkit.
This essay offers a suggestion of changes that occurred in the business environment of the 21st century and what they were driven by. It looks at why
managerial 'soft ' skills gain more attention nowadays and provides challenges modern managers might face in the near future. It then offers various
personal qualities a successful manager should possess in order to be a leading force within her organisation, dissecting each of the chosen 'people '
skills via providing theoretical background and real–life examples. It does not draw an exact line between old and newborn attributes, as all in all these

This poses new questions and demands innovative solutions to how to become an effective 21 st century manager. Such changes also challenge
organisations to adapt the way work is done and moreover demand traditional managers to evolve in order to succeed.
Management approaches that were successful in the past might not work in the future. Technical skills and self–mastery still allow a manager to be an
outstanding individual contributor within an organisation. But to lead and manage within a collaborative flatter hierarchy environment, one needs
additional interpersonal skills
(Boyatzis and Goleman, 2008), which become of paramount importance.
Business has become much more culturally diverse as well, challenging managers to understand different communication habits of different cultures.
Lewis shows how impressively diverse business talks can be performed within selected cultures and in order to be successful, modern managers must
know how to use their own communication styles and adapt them to particular cultures (cited in
Lubin, 2014). Being able to work well with and motivate others from outside one 's own culture and geographical location becomes an essential
asset. The ease of learning about other people with similar professional interests offers a way to convince a much larger group to collaborate on the
company 's agenda, giving managers space to look for ideas outside of the work space, therefore the ability to convince and bring people along

Especially for those in the legal field these important skills which include communication, relationship building, and service orientation, are most
important to an attorney engaging and creating a successful career. It is amazing that they are not taught this in law school and only implement training

Very few people are fired because they lack technical knowledge but because they lack soft skills. Now a day's many educational institutions are
focusing more on teaching their students soft skills to achieve more in their professional life. Soft skills complement hard skills. The Top 5 important

Case Study 2 – A Day in the Life of Alex Sander: Driving in the Fast Lane at Landon Care Products
1. What behaviours by Alex are having the greatest impact on the 360В° data provided by her co–workers? Which of these behaviours are positive and
which are negative?
This case study provides valuable insight into the way emotions and soft skills or its absence can affect motivation and leadership capabilities.
Alex Sander is the newest and youngest product manager at Landon. He had been very successful in the 2 product releases he has been in charge of,
nevertheless, he seems to be lacking the ability to lead and direct his team to complete the work assigned to them.
Negative Behaviours
Alex is easily upset when team members do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As mentioned in the previous question, in order to move up from product manager, Alex needs to develop his soft skills. Nevertheless, he does not
seem to recognize that he lacks that ability.
Another issue hindering Alex's leadership potential is that he does not listen to feedback. For Alex to advance to higher positions in the future, he
needs to take feedback and incorporate it into his leadership style. In fact, if he cannot adapt to the needs and profiles of different people, especially
his team members, then he will never be an effective leader.
So far, Alex has relied on his ability and capacity to complete and control all of the aspects of his product campaigns; however, as his supervisor
pointed out, Alex will not be able to do everything by himself for all of his products. Eventually, he will be forced to rely on the work and help of his
co–workers and team members.
There are several alternatives to solve the issue of Alex's inability to lead and direct his team. The most extreme would be for Landon to take away
Alex's leadership position and use his talent as a regular member of a product team. Regarding this solution, Sam Glass hired Alex for his ability to
shake things up and get things done. Therefore, this solution is not the best option, as he may become unhappy and leave to work for one of Alex's
present peers/competitors.
Other alternatives include putting Alex through

Business Environments And The Workplace Before Entering...
I learned a lot of things this half year, although the most of them were negative. I found myself too vulnerable to suit the business environments
and the workplace before entering this class. I was not brave to be the first one to express my opinions in front of others; I was weak at facing
challenges, and I always felt nervous and difficult to handle them; I could not focus on one thing too long because I got distracted from a lot of
temptation. The worst thing was: I hold my transcripts from undergraduate school and felt like I was ready to go to workplace and I was very sure
about my believing; I did not recognized what my weakness were, and I always considered myself a good worker. In realty I was not that good
enough to be a moderate worker. It is necessary for an accountant in today's public accounting companies to obtain different soft skills rather than only
calculate numbers, and also important for him or her to update their knowledge in time to accommodate the clients' needs and fulfill their objectives. I
would say that the most important thing, rather than those negative sides of myself, is gaining a chance to get rid of my weakness in both hard and
soft skills and grow to be stronger in mentality. Before stepping into the business world, I am studying on becoming a real businesswoman here in this
class, and now I have changed and grow.
For several times during the semester, I did review all my tasks and reflected on what I learned, which was very helpful and

Importance Of Soft Skills In Hospitality
1. AIM OF THE STUDY:
To indicate key areas of improvement, outlining the basis of identification and approaches to improvement supported by most suited rationale.
2. RATIONALE AND BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY:
Soft skills are those skills that are used to indicate personal qualities, style, and point of view that make someone compatible to work with. Soft
skills are widely used and are considered complimentary of hard skills. They may be described as the skills that help one manage people, opposed to
hard knowledge (Cheema, 2009). In the hospitality industry the employee is required to possess a unique blend of skills which include hard skills and
soft skills which can be separated into three categories– study skills, personal skills and interpersonal skills like APA6 referencing, timemanagement
and leadership. Along with widespread knowledge in a particular subject it is essential for an individual to develop his soft skills as it is this that
makes a real difference in the hospitality industry and makes sure the guest returns in search of what it was for them a magical realism. This is only
possible when the organization makes sure that the employees possess these skills. Thus soft skills bring along a "competitive edge" (Schulz, 2008).
APA6 referencing refer to the format of recognizing your source of information and providing

Difference Between Hard And Soft Skills
A few years back, a degree from a reputed university was enough for a job. Today, when things are improved and advance, a degree cannot guarantee
a job in any industry. Additional skills, knowledge and expertise are also needed to secure your place in the industry today. Now you need both hard
skills and soft skills to survive in such a fast–moving world.
Before moving further, let us explain what are hard skills and soft skills?
Hard skills (skills that are teachable and measurable) are also called technical skills and knowledge. These skills can be learned and studied to get
certain jobs in a particular sector. Typically, these hard skills are listed on your resume. This is because these skills are the first thing that will get
noticed by the interviewer or hiring organisation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, a Business Development (BD) executive with thorough knowledge of its company's services or products will surely have success, but
the level of success is not as per the expectations. On the other hand, with strong interpersonal skills that BD executive will be able to close more
deals and retain its clients. Similarly, a person on a responsible position should be a good listener, effective speaker and a creative thinker. Every job
role has its own requirements for some soft skills to make hard skills worthy and useful.
Not All Soft Skills are Teachable: Hard skills are not hard to learn. They can be learned and taught easily. On the other hand, soft skills are
challenging and cannot be developed easily. Soft skills are mainly associated with the character and qualities. A lot of commitment, conscious efforts
and practice required to improve these soft skills. Hard skills can boost up your resume, but soft skills can help you stand apart from the crowd. You

Interview With Soft Skills

  • 1. Interview With Soft Skills If asked in an interview what soft skills you possess, most people would say the obvious ones such as friendliness, hardworking, punctual, team player, etc. but in today's business world you will have to be much more convincing than that. Most of us would tell a potential employer those skills that we believe the employer would want us to possess. It is not that easy anymore as employers are looking for more. Soft skills are increasingly sought out by employers in addition to standard qualifications. Soft skills are behavioral competencies. Also known as interpersonal skills or people skills (Pazhani & Priya, 2012). Many times an employer will start your interview without you knowing it. They will watch your interaction with people and your overall demeanor. For women going after a leadership or managerial position, soft skills such as strength, independence, fearlessness, and intelligence are sought after as these are characteristics of successful leaders (Plietz, 2012). ... If your intention is to make a difference in healthcare and you feel you already have the soft skills discussed, then you should continue to refine them as well as work on other skills needed to be successful in your career. There will always be soft skills to learn or sharpen no matter what career you choose. To truly know ourselves, we must become aware of our blind spots, those situations we don't handle as well as we should for optimal business performance (Wheeler, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Why Do College Graduates Get Hired? According to the Economic Policy Institute, nearly 25% of college graduates are either unemployed or underemployed – a term which means they are employed at a job beneath that which is appropriate for their skill level. (Knowledgeatwharton). This is a serious issue and raises some important questions for both college graduates and the institutions from which they obtained their degrees. In this paper, I will be discussing what I believe to be the primary source of this problem, the impact it has on college graduates, and a solution, which Butler Community College could implement would work towards rectifying this issue in our local community. To more fully understand the source of this predicament, we have to look at two key terms, "technical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And in the case of college graduates this lack of preparedness is shocking. According to the "2016 Workforce–Skills Preparedness Report" put out by PayScale, 60% of managers felt like graduates were lacking in critical thinking and problem solving, 56% felt they had insufficient attention to detail, and 46% thought graduates lacked proper communication skills. And unfortunately for graduates, they often don't realize that they are so underprepared for the world ahead. According to the same report, 87% of college graduates think that they are prepared for to work, while only 50% of managers would agree. And the college graduate skills gap creates issues not only for the unemployed and underemployed graduates themselves, but also for the companies looking to hire them. In her Time piece, Martha White writes: The annual global Talent Shortage Survey from ManpowerGroup finds that nearly 1 in 5 employers worldwide can't fill positions because they can't find people with soft skills. Specifically, companies say candidates are lacking in motivation, interpersonal skills, appearance, punctuality and flexibility. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Reflective Essay On Social Work As a senior, I thought this was the perfect time to get an in–depth look at a career field that I was considering. The main reason I decided to take a career internship was to be exposed to a side of business that I had not been previously and to see if it is something I may want to pursue. The spring semester included interning at the Yadkin Valley Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber of Commerce is located on East Market Street in Elkin, North Carolina. The time of the internship period was mid–day from 11:30 A.M to 1:00 P.M. This time frame allowed me to be exposed to many lunch meetings that took place. My mentor, Myra Cook, is the president of the Chamber of Commerce. Her role is to help businesses succeed and to promote them to the town of Elkin. At the Yadkin Valley Chamber of Commerce, many valuable skills were learned such as: filing, how to make contacts with different businesses, and planning different community events. In the future, I want to major in non–profit management and social work with hopes of opening my own non–profit someday. My non–profit organization would focus on teaching people who did not receive a proper education learn job and interview skills and help them enter the workforce. When first arriving at the Chamber of Commerce, the first thing that is done is filing the new paperwork, bills, and receipts. Throughout the day, typical duties include answering phone calls and helping travellers that come in to the chamber. These travellers typically ask ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The Value Of Waste Control Mass customization of products has become a common approach in manufacturing organizations. Explain the ways in which mass customization can be applied to service firms as well. In many ways mass customization has always been a factor that service firms have necessarily embraced. The intangible business of dealing with people directly and providing services is by nature customized to individuals involved in the transaction(s). What mass customization of products in manufacturing contexts can provide to service organizations by way of example; are the models of lean manufacturing, kaizen and organizational structure. Lean manufacturing teaches the value of waste control, kaizen frames continuous improvement and the common factor between these approaches is highly trained employees (Daft, 2016). Highly trained employees who are empowered and versed in both technical aspects and soft skill aspects of customer interaction; best support a service organization. A service organization employee has to be able to address customized requests at each interaction, which is why service firms are "labor and knowledge intensive" (Daft, 2016, p. 273) when compared to the product focus of a manufacturing firm. Although there is that clear difference in focus (or expenditure) between a manufacturing organization and a service organization, an organic structure is most applicable for both. It will argue that control plays an important role in the relationship that develops between employees, employers and customers. For this reason, the selection process has begun to use more sophisticated methods in order to increase the validity and reliability of having the best employee for the organization (Marchington and Wilkison, 2005). For example, in terms of validity, organisations are advised to use structured interviews and cognitive ability tests. In terms of reliability, there are three crucial factors: testing being carried out at different times, the use of two interviewers and repeating the test (Newell, 2005). Nevertheless, these methods cannot predict employees' turnover. Morrell et al. (2001) discuss about two key concepts: voluntary and involuntary turnover. Voluntary turnover relates to the employee's decision to leave such as illness or personal reasons. While, involuntary turnover relates to company related problems such as the need to cut costs or to downsize. Even if organisations develop means to identify the characteristics that influence turnover, neither of these two types can be successfully foreseen during the recruitment process. As a result, employers need to secure long term employment since a labour turnover will have a high cost both in terms of recruitment and selection and in terms of training sessions meant to enhance the employees' soft skills. Alex Sander is the newest and youngest product manager at Landon.
