  • 7. Ensure that the room layout is appropriate. Ensure that adequate refreshments are provided. Ensure all members of the panel are present. Identify key selection criteria. Discuss questions and order of questions with the panel members.
  • 8. The Employee is well-informed about the employer. The Employee understands how he / she can contribute in a job role. The Employee ensures that the first impression is good. The Employee’s portfolio.
  • 9. some background research : •check company brochures and Website •check out any blogs and social network pages of key people in the com. •try and connect with some people who are working with the company What is their area of work? What products and services do they offer? Who are the key people in the organization?  What is their background? Who are their business associates (such as collaborators, partners, clients, etc.)?
  • 10. Know how you can contribute in a job role •Do a web search on the job role. •Connect with people with similar job profiles over social networks . •Talk to family / friends / relatives who have work experience in the area. Choose a typical job role. Do research using sources . What people are expected to do in this job role. Based on this, prepare a job profile .
  • 11. Solid color, conservative trousers. White / light colored long sleeve shirt. Sober looking tie, formal shoes. Avoid fashion accessories . Neatly shaven, neat hairstyle. Portfolio or briefcase for documents.
  • 12. Formal Indian wear. Moderate shoes. Limited jewellery and Manicured nails. Neat, professional hairstyle. No / light make-up & perfume. Portfolio or briefcase for documents
  • 13. Extra copies of your resume. References, Recommendation letters. Essential supporting documentation. - original - photocopies Essential stationery. Samples of your work that are relevant to the job applied for .
  • 14. Zone 1: Getting to the interview. Zone 2: The first 3 minutes – Introductions. Zone 3: Testing your credibility / Basic level. Zone 4: Technical Zone. Zone 5: Personal Zone. Zone 6: Carrer Plans / Aspirations Zone. Zone 7: Closure / Go Forwards.
  • 15. Being on time: •Find out about the location in advance . • Keep enough time for registration at the company security desk In case of delays : •Inform the company and / or placement agency as early as possible. •–In case you are getting delayed on the way to the interview, call and inform the company.
  • 16. The Contributor’s Communication Goal: Quiet Confidence , Be cheerful . Walk in confidently. Show your proactive attitude by introducing yourself. Greet and shake hands with the interviewer. Thank them for the opportunity to meet. maintain eye contact throughout / during your interview. Sit forward and upright in your chair.
  • 17. Questions on your educational background and academic achievements . Questions about your projects or work experience . Explanations for gaps in education . Questions about other activities you have been involved in. Any other achievements.
  • 18. Questions on your knowledge of the subject. Questions on your level of competence in essential skills for the job. Questions on your thinking abilities necessary for the job .  Questions on your familiarity with various tools necessary for the job.
  • 19. The Contributor’s Communication Goal: I am capable of learning and growing with experience. Tell me about yourself. What are your key strengths and weaknesses? Tell me about a time when you had to make a decision you knew would make you unpopular. Describe a time when you were under pressure and missed a deadline. Share an experience from your life where you were greatly disappointed. How did you handle/cope with the disappointment?
  • 20. Questions about your interest in the organization in specific . What are your short-term and long-term goals? What do you want to achieve in life? Why should I hire you?
  • 21. Leave with a firm handshake. Prepare to answer “Do you have any questions to ask of us? . Thank the interviewer for his/her time. Reiterate your interest in the position and company. If they offer to contact you, politely ask when you should expect their call.
  • 22. Ask the candidate if he/she has any questions. Confirm their current salary and notice period is as stated on their application form, if not gather the updated details. Contact details, i.e. mobile phone number for informing candidates of the outcome. Inform the candidates that they will be contacted with the decision as soon as after the interview. Confirm that normally HR will contact with the decision.
  • 23. We know that as being an Engineer we must require thorough technical knowledge , but with that we also require interview skills. To clear our first mile stone that is interview to become a successful professional. If we Prepared well ,Understand and follow the instructions of Interview skills than we all will get success in life.
