2. These are the very first shots
without any makeup,
accessories or any fashionable
clothes.
Here we have tested the
green screen where I can later
change to a different colour.
Here we tried both angles,
medium shot and
bust shot.
3. Then we have tried different poses
for more interest in the image.
Eye contact was seen to have
more impact grabbing the
Target Audience’s attention
then looking at different
angles.
We decide to include this
black leather because
symbolises rock and is also
on trend.
4. We then added a little of
makeup (mascara, brown
filler and concealer) for
development.
We used the military jacket as it
was included in her outfit post
for being on trend.
Posture of the singer and
angle of the camera was
then considered, further stay
in good posture and keep
camera in a low angle
perspective.
5. Here we added more makeup
(pink lipstick to show youth girl
like, and blue eyeshadow to
enhance her blue eyes as one of
her characteristic feature).
This is trying Coco Rocha poses
style I posted on ‘pose and
position’ we attempted this a
few times but was difficult as I
didn’t have the access to the
camera settings needed.(shutter
speed and aperture).
The pink jacket enforces the
singers request of
minimalism; deliberate lack of
decoration or adornment in
style.
6. Here we settled on an another
leather jacket, however looked
she looks very ordinary and
mature, instead of looking young
and fun.
However I liked these poses
with arms up as it shows her
confidence and freedom.
The watch being shown shows
independence and a controlled
life which is the contrary of the
image I want to show.
7. Here we tried a furry coat as
it is also on trend, the furry
coat didn’t standout as much
as expected.
The hair was an attempt to look
like Mario Testino’s front cover
models hair. However she looked
too mature for the singers image.
Here we have tried more eye
makeup as Mario Testino work
style and current trend.
8. Where trying this coat the
shots were from further away
to be able to see the whole
garment.
I believe this garment took
too much attention from the
singer.
This coat is also very elegant and
mature and I am looking for an
outfit which would help change
the point of view from a “lady” to
an young rebellious, fun outgoing
view.
9. The accessory, instead of looking
edgy looked mature and the lack
of jewellery seen too affective.
We played around with the garment to
look more rebellious it looks like a chic
hoody this is rebellious as it is
disrespectful to wear indoors and off
putting to the people around you to
speak to you.
The hood works as a great
accessory and covers well her
feminine features to distract being
seen as an object by men this is
said on my ‘Uses of Gratification’
post.
10. In these small pictures
you can see there is no
eye contact leading me
to discard them.
From these pictures I learned the seriousness could have been affecting
the idea of seeing her as a fun person.
The pictures are seen to
focus more to her left
hand side because of
the earring which is
seen as a stereotype of
young and immature
not thinking of
damaging body as
tattoos.
11. Her hair is half down and the other half up
in a hair quiff, half men half women which
can be seen as she accepts both as fans
and this hair style could be seen as her
iconic hairstyle.
She smiling and giving less attention to
the clothes helps but thinking towards
my magazine target consumers it does
not relate to my music genres pop and
rock.
This outfit is chosen as it suits the
category of bizarre fashionable
outfit which was voted to be seen
by my target consumers in the
questionnaire as a way to make
the cover shot stand out
12. The jacket now can relate to the
rock genre.
However the overall image looks boring as it
has an lack of jewellery or excitement.
13. To make look younger we added more
accessories; necklace and earring, the
necklace says her name ‘Nina Becker’ and the
earring is big and bold which stands out a lot.
We tried to make the pose more fun with a
wink face but was effecting eye contact
which could confuse people as it is unusual
to be seen in magazine covers.
14. Now she looks like having fun, outgoing person and as a young confident singer.
I have chosen them for further development as they follow all my criteria.
15. On my post of ‘Uses of
Gratification’ I said I would
attempt to make her face as
symmetrical as possible and here
is one of the before pictures
without any makeup and a
picture of the very end of the
photoshoot where here makeup
was all been done.
Before
After
Before – mirrored right side of the face.
After– mirrored right side of the face.

Here you
can choose
colour
20. Colours used from colours of the original picture.
Blue from eyes and eye makeup. Pale pink from her top. Pink from heart earing. Light black from
black jacket. I made it
lighter so that the
jacket doesn't fade
into the background.
Pale pink in the
centre to Grey
this combination
is from the shirt
to the jacket.
21. Final picture
This background was chosen
to be further developed
because it is not leading to
one of the genders colour
such as the pink background
would affect my male
consumers of buying my
magazine.
Further experiment
This background was chosen
because is the one that gave
most attention to Nina, I also
made her proportionally bigger
which cuts her hand but I
presume it would of been
alright as it was also done on
the example magazine.
I did this to give more
attention to her face rather
than her hand.
