Essay On Stakeholder Analysis Of Delhi's Odd-Even Policy
Stakeholder Analysis of the Delhi's Odd Even Policy
The implementation of the odd–even policy has directly or indirectly impacted a wide variety of people especially those living in Delhi. Due to the
complexity of the demographic structure and transportation system in Delhi, this experiment has drew intense attentions from the public and brought
pressure to the government. The citizens in Delhi were highly impacted by this drastic measure. Meanwhile, the high court in Delhi and the Delhi
government played the key roles in determining and implementing the policy. It is crucial to understand the role of each stakeholder played in this
issue and how well their interests or concerns were addressed. More importantly, studies were made to investigate which stakeholder has a higher level
of influence in the policy making and implementation process. This will provide important insights to the future implementation of the policy as
revealed by the government earlier. Therefore, this paper has carefully examined the interests of three main stakeholders groups (residents in Delhi
including the minorities, Delhi government and the High Court), the impacts of policy on each group and their level of influence in this policy.
Citizen in the capital is the largest stakeholder group in this experiment. Residents in Delhi played the key roles in ensuring the success of the
experiment. Without the cooperation given by the residents, the experiment will not be able to carry out smoothly and

English And English: Dialect Of English Language And Language
Theme area :DIALECTICS OF LANGUAGE & LITERATURE
Title : DIALECT OF DELHI URBAN – HINGLISH
"Integrity without knowledge is weak and useless, and knowledge without integrity is dangerous and dreadful. –Samuel Johnson
Abstract
What exactly Hinglish Dialect is?
"Hinglish" is not the inappropriate blend of English and Hindi languages. Neither it is a code switching which is switching from one sentence in English
then to another sentence in Hindi. Although, there are not strict rules for Hinglish. But in author's opinion any sentence which has 1) Words in these (
Hindi & English) languages 2) Grammar and sentence structure is maintained in Hindi
3) Hinglish is very easier to learn when compared to English to the Urban people of Delhi
Etymology:
A blend of the words from "Hindi" and "English" languages.
I feel very amazed and amuse to focus on this topic ."Hinglish" is the innovative enthusiasm that I have found and it's relatively addictive. It's a bliss
to learn such innovative things . Communities in urban areas don't speak in English except they consider it confidently . Unless & untill ,they feel
comfortable , then only they start speaking and this process can take up to several years. So what they do is start adding up English words in their Hindi

A Deeper Look Into The Lives Of Slum Dwellers
A Deeper look into the lives of Slum dwellers
– Gitashu Jain
Methodology:
On visiting various underdeveloped sections of our world–class capital city, I got the chance to have a closer look into the lives of the unwarranted and
at times acting as an invisible force – the slum dwellers. Having migrated from various developing regions of India, one can see the promises of
young– bright India being obliterated into dark–gloomy pieces because of communal politics and corruption. It gave me deeper insights into the
colossal failing of the central, state and municipal machinery. They have failed in proper execution of laws for the most vulnerable and downtrodden
constituents of the society. On spending time in these un–administered, poverty stricken areas of Sanjay Camp, Janta Camp, Shakoorpur basti and GB
road district, where we with the help of the Pradhan (Headman of these slums), I got a chance to interact with these people which gave me a realistic
insight to their sufferings and problems, starting from commodification of their labour to stigmatized work they are forced to perform due their caste
and social class. We conducted detailed interviews of inhabitants of every age, keeping the main focus on pregnant and lactating women (and their
children below the age of 6 years), who clearly are the most vulnerable to maltreatment due to frustration of the men in failing to provide enough for
them & poor execution of policies formulated by the government, ironically, for the

A Time When Autos Ruled
There used to be a time when Autos ruled. Asking for a price they canthink of, and with no competition, the users were at their mercy. And then came
the first round of taxi revolution with Meru and Mega of the world started organizing the market, giving you a decent and reliable option. Though
prices were high, the commuters know them in advance and take an informed decision.
Post that, for last 2 years it is the age of offers. Backed by heavy funding and tough competition, OLA, Taxiforsure and Genie are offering mind
boggling rates for local travels, at times cheaper than autos with the eternal worry about the service quality. Uber was still there but the prices were on
higher side and also it engulfed in unnecessary controversy.
Come Feb 2015, and Uber tried to change the dynamics of Indian taxi market the way it has shaken the world players. By playing the pricing war
and taking the battle to the competition, it has shown that it is here to stay and is betting big on Indian market. It has reduced its prices by 40%,
introduced safety features and is offering high end services for special occasions. In most cases above 15kms, it is likely to be the cheapest mode of
travel in city except for publictransport. With the kind of comfort and pricing, it is undoubtedly going to be the cab of choice.
Transport is fast emerging as a major basic need of people. Thanks to globalization, the demand for quick, reliable, safe, secure and cost–effective
transport has been increasing

India 's The Indian State
The Indian state, while ostensibly secular, nevertheless has institutionally always been set up to intervene in religious affairs. The Indian constitution
"enshrines the right to individual freedom of religion, [but] also empowers the state to intervene in Hindu religious institutions." (Sen 16) The
constitution, for instance, calls on the state to ban untouchability, an abhorrent Hindu practice, establishing affirmative action to help certain
disadvantaged religious groups and puts in place separate personal laws for different religious groups. (Sen 16) These policies allow institutions like
the government, and the courts to intervene in communal issues, making the government a player in conflicts like the Babri Masjid. The Congress
party, while a secular party, was consequently involved in decision–making that would favour either the Hindus or the minorities. India's Supreme Court
was also involved in legislating on religious affairs. As Sen writes, India's version of secularism can be traced back to the debates in the Constituent
Assembly, where the constitution was drafted in the late 1940s. The Assembly saw a lot of debate over what form this secularism would take. "There
were several voices in the Assembly, including that of B.R. Ambedkar, who wanted to severely restrict the role of religion in the public sphere. Hence,
scientist K.T. Shah raised the demand that there be an article expressly stating that the Indian state has 'no concern with any religion, creed or

Case Study Of Ola-Uber
Ola–Uber is like the new name for taxis in India. Every second educated person knows about their services and every 4th person have used their
services. Present across 87 cities in India OlaCabs or better known as Ola believes in hiring entrepreneurial drivers unlike the conventional drivers
hired by taxiforSure or Meru Cabs. 70 % of Ola drivers own their vehicle and are claiming to earn 4–15 thousand a week. By paying the drivers
according to per km basis rather than hourly basis the company has managed to decrease or better say eliminate the slack which used to be created
when drivers are not riding. Hence the productivity increased. An avg drivers claims to be driving 8–10 hours a day and takes 2 days in a week off and
still manages to take home 45–55k a month. Many drivers ride both Ola and Uber and many of them claim to be making over 1 lacs a... Show more

So when Uber moves to those cities it will again get the shared taxi driver who rides Ola as well. Uber should come up with some exclusive strategy
for their drivers so that they completely shift from Ola to Uber and also have tie ups with the banks to assist and get people loan. And more over
can tie up with regional traffic control and assist in getting bulk licenses for its trained driver. They can come up with a driver academy where you
enrol, learn driving and get a loan and you drive and earn. Actually any one of the brands can come up with such a strategy.
Uber has a strategy that is known as Growth Hacking. Growth hacking simply means to acquire only engaged and interested consumers without using
by the book marketing techniques. Uber didn't quite believed in spending money on advertising channels like print TV etc. Instead uber relied heavily
on Facebook and twitter. Uber thought it would make more sense to give users initial free ride up to a certain limit and getting more free rides when
their friends ride their first ride with the referral code from the previous

Essay On Parathas
I recall my visit to Delhi, the glorious capital of India, when I was eight years old. The rich heritage of the city and the bustling atmosphere of
areas such as Chandni Chowk1 seemed to overwhelm me. And it was in Chandni Chowk where I discovered my favourite dish. I vaguely have a
memory of my mother holding my hand and getting me past crowds to a street filled with aromas of different varieties of the same food. Small stalls
filled the tiny pockets of space available in the street and pans of oil and ghee2 flew in the air along with a blend of vegetables stuffed in a sort of
flatbread. Infactuated by its smell, I curiously asked my mother what it was that got my attention. "Parathas*," answered my mother. This was the

If you know a die–hard Paratha person, he or she will be quick to point out that it is the smoothness and the compactness of the dish that makes it
worth eating. This is all because of the Punjabis, the creators of the dish, who featured the Paratha with an excess of ghee and oil that solidifies the
conventional atta7 and gives the Paratha its ability to boost people's energy levels (no wonder some reckon that the word 'Paratha' was a combination
of the words 'parat8' and 'atta', literally making it layers of cooked dough). The Paratha can do with a few stuffings, that have to be carefully mashed

The New Delhi School System
While there are many acts of human right violations in the world, a long standing one that has gone on is in New Delhi, India where they have
struggled with the right to education in their public schools. On April 1, 2010 the act for the right of children to free and compulsory education was
passed in New Delhi, India. The law promised free and compulsory education to all children between the age groups of six and fourteen years old. A
study on the implementation of the Right to Education Act in Delhi three years of its existence, has shown overwhelming violations. Although the act
was passed, there have been 10,000 accounts of violations of child's rights recorded. The New Delhi school system 's use of discrimination against

Remnants of the glorious past survive as important monuments in different parts of the city"(Pollanki). Although Delhi has prospered as the capital
of modern India, its population is spiralling upwards due to rapid economic expansion and increased job opportunities. The downside of this
inflation, is chronic overcrowding, traffic congestion, child labour, housing shortages, pollution, and unfortunately unfair educational opportunities
to local children. Although New Delhi is a fast growing city, some of their political opinions are outdated, like their lack of commitment to the
human right to education. Many schools around New Delhi have denied students access to their schools. A majority of the victims in this case are
children who belong to economically weaker , or refugee families in New Delhi, and cannot provide correct papers to enter the school, some have
even been denied access for lack of hygiene. One child was denied entrance to school on complaint of his poor hygiene and was asked to take his
admission somewhere else (iGovernment). When many of these families cannot even afford food on their table for their children, lack of hygiene
should not be a reason to deny a child their right to an education. This incident isn't the only case in which a student was turned away from school,
surveys taken around the local New Delhi schools reported, "twenty three per cent of children stated that they have differently–abled (disabled) children

The Importance Of Personal Liberty
Personal liberty means a bundle of rights, essential for the existence of human life. In Maneka Gandhi v. Union of India, the Supreme Court pointed
out that the expression "personal liberty" does not mean only liberty of the persons but also liberty or rights attached to the person (Jus–personam). A
division bench of the Delhi High Court observed in AV Chardel v. Delhi University that the expression "life and personal liberty" includes a variety of
rights, which though not enumerated in Part–III of the Constitution, can be included in various aspects of liberty provided they are necessary for the
full development of human personality. Further in Francis Coralie v. Union Territory of Delhi, Justices PN Bhagwati, Fazal Ali, Murtaza, while
stressing the quality of life and its enjoyment within the purview of Article 21 have rightly said: "the right to life enshrined in Article 21 cannot be
restricted to mere animal existence. It means something much more than just physical survival. The right to life includes the right to live with human
dignity and all that goes along with it."
Along these lines the articulation "individual freedom" isn't restricted to the assurance of appendage and workforce however incorporates everything
basic for the happiness regarding existence with all human respect.
A vital inquiry how far the infringement of freedoms fundamental forever caused by the ecological contamination exists in the extent of Article 21 has

The Partition Of India By Bapsi Sidhwa
Before the Partition of India, in 1947, India was considered a country with a reasonably peaceful history. However, during and after the Partition,
sexual violence, both towards men and women, escalated, resulting in the rape and abduction of over 80,000 women. Cracking India, by Bapsi Sidhwa,
tells a story that highlights these violent acts by both Muslims and Hindus, through the eyes of a disabled young Parsi girl named Lenny, who
witnesses first hand the violence of Partition when she mistakenly participates in the abduction of her ayah, Shanta. Throughout Cracking India, Lenny
observes as the religions involved in Partition become increasingly violent towards both men and women, within their own religions and against others.
Lenny, who begins the novel as a very naГЇve young Parsi girl, "comes to understand that the foundations of violence in her surroundings are largely
gendered and that the experience of this violence is differentiated along gender lines" (Rastegar 27). Lenny witnesses the evolution of Ayah's suitors,
(who are Parsi, Hindu and Muslim), from men interested in being with Ayah to men who are desperate to control Ayah. As Partition gets more
violent, Ice Candy Man, one of Ayah's suitors who is Muslim, "takes on the role of a minor nationalist leader in their area" and eventually coordinates
a mob of Muslims to come to the Sethi house an abduct Lenny, who is Hindu (Rastegar 27). When Lenny witnesses the change in behavior of Ayah's
suitors she feels like

The Partition of India
Today, the legacy of 1947 increasingly poses a threat than any other time before on the subcontinent. Part has really ended up being a trauma from
which the mainland has never completely recouped. Yet unfortunately, this is not reflected in its history composing, a reality that is regretted by a lot
of people. Alok Bhalla, for instance, in his presentation to an accumulation of Partition stories in English interpretation states that regarding the matter
of Partition, there is not only an absence of incredible expositive expression, there is, all the more genuinely, an absence of extraordinary history
Indeed, if this is accurate to any degree, this is maybe on the grounds that Indian historiography has centered more on Independence than on Partition,
more on the bringing together constrain of patriotism than the divisive compels that lease the nation in 1947. For quite a while, Indian history
composing emulated the customary patriot talk in which the part of the incredible Congress pioneers and the vitality of national joining were
dependably given pride of spot. This specific talk has been termed the 'Nehruvian story' of Indian history, and one can't overemphasize the significance
of Nehru's own books in designing this talk. Such works of Nehru's as An Autobiography and The Discovery ofIndia show how he saw Indian history
and how he reinterpreted it to an advanced mainstream patriot talk for the rising independent state of India.

"If on Earth be an Eden of bliss, it is this, it is this, none but this"!
That says a very well known Persian verse, written on one of the walls of the Public Auditorium of Lal Quila (Red Fort), in Old Delhi.

that encompasses a variety of phenomena resulting from the presence and flow of electric charge. When we consider electricity, we usually think of
electric power, and that's how we'll use the term here. Electricity is energy, and energy can do work. Electric power, electricity, is used to do things
for us, and no modern society exists without it. Electricity is generated at places where it is economical and advantageous to do so, and is transported
to places of use through the power grid.
Historically speaking the modern electricity industry utility system was first introduced to the world on the opening of Thomas Edison's Pearl Street

The 1984 Sikh riots also known as the Sikh Massacre or the genocide of Sikhs, started after the murder of Indira Gandhi, the Prime Minister of India
by her own two Sikh bodyguards. The reason behind this was to take the revenge from Mrs. Gandhi as it was her decision to have an attack on the
Golden Temple, one of the biggest holy place of the Sikh community. Her order was named as Operation Blue Star, motivated to take out terrorists
who had blocked off themselves inside the temple. (Kundu 2017). As the result of this army attack many of the Sikh buildings of Amritsar were

Disadvantages Of Fair Trade
Having the privilege to live in a developed country like America has blessed us with an abundance of prospers opportunities, but have we let these
opportunities outweigh the Earths health? This question may not be one that can be answered till future time. Accordingly, what we can discuss is
how our purchases have a ripple effect on the natural environment and undeveloped cultures in which many times they derived from or are at. With
concepts like fair trade and using reusable and sustainable products to help make a healthier and a more just world.
Being a conscious consumer currently is no small task, with multiple choices of mega stores filled with products that our most time often than not
filled with products that are cheaply produced. Moreover, the big company's give little regard to the producer. This is where theconcept of fair trade
comes from. In a piece of Harvard's Journal of Economic Perspectives states that "Fair Trade is a labeling initiative aimed at improving the lives of
the poor in developing countries by offering better terms to producers and helping them to organize." (Dragusanu, Giovannucci, Nunn, 2014) The
article continues to say that "...Fair Trade–certified coffee exports were 1.8 percent of global coffee exports in 2009..." (Dragusanu, Giovannucci,
Nunn, 2014) A reason why this percent maybe so small could be due to peoples who make the argument that Fair Trade is not economically sustainable.
This meaning that if these producers are underneath the

The Physical Pattern Of The Urban Tissue Of Shahjahanabad
The river was an important part of the city, access to which was provided through ghats (wide flights of steps along the banks) such as Nigambodh
ghat and Raj ghat. The Yamuna was an artery along which river borne traffic travelled. It was a bathing area, particularly for Hindus who considered
its waters sacred. It was also a recreational space where fairs, swimming competitions, kite flying, took place.
Shahjahanabad, like any other living city is constantly changing and evolving. The physical pattern of the urban tissue of Shahjahanabad was
completed by the 19th century. In the 1850s map available, the urban morphology depicted is the same as can be seen today. However, events in
history have left their mark on this planned city, changing it over time. This is especially true for the Red Fort,Chandni chowk, etc.
When the British first moved into Delhi, they established the area in north Shahjahanabad as the centre of administrative power, adding several new
colonial buildings, both religious and institutional in nature or simply adding to or coopting older buildings. This area has perhaps seen the bulk of this
transformation. The earliest church in Delhi, the St. James' Church, built by Colonel James Skinner was in this area and has altered very little since its
construction in 1836. The only other Anglican church of that era, the St. Stephen's Church near the Fatehpuri Mosque was built only much later, in
about 1867. The church has recently been restored and its roof

  • 8. A Deeper Look Into The Lives Of Slum Dwellers A Deeper look into the lives of Slum dwellers – Gitashu Jain Methodology: On visiting various underdeveloped sections of our world–class capital city, I got the chance to have a closer look into the lives of the unwarranted and at times acting as an invisible force – the slum dwellers. Having migrated from various developing regions of India, one can see the promises of young– bright India being obliterated into dark–gloomy pieces because of communal politics and corruption. It gave me deeper insights into the colossal failing of the central, state and municipal machinery. They have failed in proper execution of laws for the most vulnerable and downtrodden constituents of the society. On spending time in these un–administered, poverty stricken areas of Sanjay Camp, Janta Camp, Shakoorpur basti and GB road district, where we with the help of the Pradhan (Headman of these slums), I got a chance to interact with these people which gave me a realistic insight to their sufferings and problems, starting from commodification of their labour to stigmatized work they are forced to perform due their caste and social class. We conducted detailed interviews of inhabitants of every age, keeping the main focus on pregnant and lactating women (and their children below the age of 6 years), who clearly are the most vulnerable to maltreatment due to frustration of the men in failing to provide enough for them & poor execution of policies formulated by the government, ironically, for the ... • 9. A Time When Autos Ruled There used to be a time when Autos ruled. Asking for a price they canthink of, and with no competition, the users were at their mercy. And then came the first round of taxi revolution with Meru and Mega of the world started organizing the market, giving you a decent and reliable option. Though prices were high, the commuters know them in advance and take an informed decision. Post that, for last 2 years it is the age of offers. Backed by heavy funding and tough competition, OLA, Taxiforsure and Genie are offering mind boggling rates for local travels, at times cheaper than autos with the eternal worry about the service quality. Uber was still there but the prices were on higher side and also it engulfed in unnecessary controversy. Come Feb 2015, and Uber tried to change the dynamics of Indian taxi market the way it has shaken the world players. By playing the pricing war and taking the battle to the competition, it has shown that it is here to stay and is betting big on Indian market. It has reduced its prices by 40%, introduced safety features and is offering high end services for special occasions. In most cases above 15kms, it is likely to be the cheapest mode of travel in city except for publictransport. With the kind of comfort and pricing, it is undoubtedly going to be the cab of choice. • 13. India 's The Indian State The Indian state, while ostensibly secular, nevertheless has institutionally always been set up to intervene in religious affairs. The Indian constitution "enshrines the right to individual freedom of religion, [but] also empowers the state to intervene in Hindu religious institutions." (Sen 16) The constitution, for instance, calls on the state to ban untouchability, an abhorrent Hindu practice, establishing affirmative action to help certain disadvantaged religious groups and puts in place separate personal laws for different religious groups. (Sen 16) These policies allow institutions like the government, and the courts to intervene in communal issues, making the government a player in conflicts like the Babri Masjid. The Congress party, while a secular party, was consequently involved in decision–making that would favour either the Hindus or the minorities. India's Supreme Court was also involved in legislating on religious affairs. As Sen writes, India's version of secularism can be traced back to the debates in the Constituent Assembly, where the constitution was drafted in the late 1940s. The Assembly saw a lot of debate over what form this secularism would take. "There were several voices in the Assembly, including that of B.R. Ambedkar, who wanted to severely restrict the role of religion in the public sphere. Hence, scientist K.T. Shah raised the demand that there be an article expressly stating that the Indian state has 'no concern with any religion, creed or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The rich heritage of the city and the bustling atmosphere of areas such as Chandni Chowk1 seemed to overwhelm me. And it was in Chandni Chowk where I discovered my favourite dish. I vaguely have a memory of my mother holding my hand and getting me past crowds to a street filled with aromas of different varieties of the same food. Small stalls filled the tiny pockets of space available in the street and pans of oil and ghee2 flew in the air along with a blend of vegetables stuffed in a sort of flatbread. Infactuated by its smell, I curiously asked my mother what it was that got my attention. "Parathas*," answered my mother. • 41. The Physical Pattern Of The Urban Tissue Of Shahjahanabad The river was an important part of the city, access to which was provided through ghats (wide flights of steps along the banks) such as Nigambodh ghat and Raj ghat. The Yamuna was an artery along which river borne traffic travelled. It was a bathing area, particularly for Hindus who considered its waters sacred. It was also a recreational space where fairs, swimming competitions, kite flying, took place. Shahjahanabad, like any other living city is constantly changing and evolving. The physical pattern of the urban tissue of Shahjahanabad was completed by the 19th century. In the 1850s map available, the urban morphology depicted is the same as can be seen today. However, events in history have left their mark on this planned city, changing it over time. This is especially true for the Red Fort,Chandni chowk, etc. When the British first moved into Delhi, they established the area in north Shahjahanabad as the centre of administrative power, adding several new colonial buildings, both religious and institutional in nature or simply adding to or coopting older buildings. This area has perhaps seen the bulk of this transformation. The earliest church in Delhi, the St. James' Church, built by Colonel James Skinner was in this area and has altered very little since its construction in 1836. The only other Anglican church of that era, the St. Stephen's Church near the Fatehpuri Mosque was built only much later, in about 1867. The church has recently been restored and its roof ...
