Berserkers Research Paper
Berserkers
You never forget a close encounter with a wild animal bent on hunting you down for their next
meal. It is one of the terrifying experiences you could ever have. Now imagine being approached by
a stealthy creature with the face of a man and the head of a bear or wolf brandishing sword and
shield. The creature wild–eyed almost foaming at the mouth. Wouldn't that terrify you? This is a
good description of the Berserker a Norse warrior who fought in a nearly uncontrollable, trance–like
fury, a characteristic which later gave rise to the English word berserk.
Berserkers appear in many poems and sagas. They describe berserkers as ravenous men who kill,
plunder, and loot indiscriminately. In later dates, Christian interpreters described

What Is Censorship?
How does censorship in media undermine the creativity and enjoyment of what we indulge
ourselves in? The existence of censorship itself can take many forms in media. Sometimes it can
exist for reasonable reasons to the most absurd. This filter has existed as long as public
demonstration has existed; there was always information that has not has not been shown or
spreadto the public. Now in modern times, it has been used and implemented in across several
formats in media and entertainment. Is it the opinions of people or someone in a higher power for
something to be a product of censorship? Berserk had its debut in 1988 with its prototype and 1989
as a full–fledged story. This is a manga written and drawn by Kentaro Miura who has been in ...

Censorship is like a veil in art and originality. The same can apply to the stories artist tries to create
for a viewer.
Once censored it is just another story with likely a different meaning of what it was originally. When
it comes to Berserk, it be viewed as mindless violence at a quick glance, but when fully read the
reader can see it is the story of the protagonist Guts, he is not a mindless killer who brutally murders
every foe in his path. Guts has a reason for doing so and a very specific one as well, since the story
of guts is the living example of someone who had everything go wrong in their life. From being
picked up by a prostitute traveling with mercenaries from his hanging mother in the middle of
nowhere to seeing nearly all his comrades betrayed by his dear friend and left to the point of being
mentally broken, Having that kind of story in a protagonist would be censored due to how
unreasonably violent it would be. Now if Berserk did not have its creativity and twists that
censoring would not allow, would it be a flavorless graphic manga lost before the new millennia?
The manga itself would be very restrictive with its material and likely leave the reader with too
much to ponder if many of its original ideas were squandered and extremely toned down. Would it
still be better than it originally was or would it be some manifestation of senseless entrainment, is
there a difference?

Peter And Edmond Relationship
Encountering Jadis Peter and Edmond encounter the White Witch in different ways, yet by the end
of the novel they both despised her. They both hated her. They both deplored her. Edmond met the
White Witch; because he followed Lucy into the wardrobe. At first the Witch treated the strange
being, Edmond, like any other subject, with harshness and cruelty. However, once the White Witch
discovered that Edmond was a son of Adam, she deceived and bribed him, promising that when she
died he would rule the kingdom of Narnia, as a magnificent king. With his ego full of praise,
Edmond saw no reason to fear the so–called queen of Narnia. Thus, Edmond made a foolish
decision to stray from his siblings and visit the White Witch alone. Once the Witch realized

A Comparison Of The Epic Heroes, And The Characters Of...
Beowulf represents a type of protagonists rarely seen in the modern world of entertainment, the epic
hero. For centuries their simplistic tales of overcoming evil and their demeanor have dominated
Western notions of masculinity: Control over emotion, physical strength, arrogance, innate morality,
and an alpha male mentality. It might be ideal for older cultures and the Anglo–Saxon warriors that
needed a model of morality they need to idolize, but in our times we need more. The America we
live in is more global, more diverse, more interconnected that any previous civilization. Our
definition of masculinity has changed as we progressed and learned more about ourselves as
humans. We are postmodern society, where good and evil are subjective, and we crave for empathy
and connection. Berserk's main character Guts, is such hero of our time. On the surface the two
heroes share many similarities, they are both buff hyper–masculine males, they both wield
enormous swords to fight fantastical monsters. Yet there are fundamental differences between the
two. These became apparent after reading and analyzing both Beowulf and Berserk. Epic heroes are
the epitome of good. They are good. They are the personified version of a culture's beliefs on
morality and virtue. Their stories are cut out: a heroic quest/journey, good versus evil, and the
triumph of the hero over the villain in the end. Simplistic in nature, epic heroes, like Beowulf, rarely
show genuine emotion and rarely teach us,

Total Recall, The Hunge
Dystopia is an imagined futuristic, place or state where everything is undesirable or dreadful,
typically under dictatorial control or an environmentally downtrodden one. Current norms, trends or
political systems in today's world are criticized in this type of literature. Social characteristics, types
of control, and the dystopian protagonist are three key elements in dystopian stories. In order to
acquire why an author would want to write a dystopian story, as readers, we must try to understand,
why writing a utopian story would be an unexceptional form of literature, to any respected author,
because just thinking about reading about a perfect world without any conflict what so ever, would
bore a daily reader to death. Furthermore, stories like Total Recall, The ... Show more content on

Ginga Eiyuu (Legend Of The Galactic Heroes
Crafting a masterful anime is similar to cultivating a delicate flower, it requires a willingness to
accept circumstances the way they are, and not the way we wish them to be. Lithops, a flower with a
low dependence on water, can have their skins burst if they are oversaturated with excess liquids. In
the same breath, an anime that strives for over–the–top action sequences (e.g. run–of–the–mill
Shounen anime) but neglects the political, economic, and social struggles that accompany those
events, falsely establishes a dichotomous situation that rarely, if ever, exists. The original Ginga
Eiyuu Densetsu (Legend of the Galactic Heroes) understood these concepts extremely well, taking
every opportunity it could to flesh out characters, explore pertinent historical events, and question
the role(s) of government and its people. If it were required to sum up the original series in one–
word, it would be: methodical. Nothing ever felt rushed, hurried, or crammed down our throats.
Everything blossomed from the seeds of past events. And while the outcomes may, or may not, have
been what we had expected, it all blended into a larger political narrative that is relevant today, and,

however, the episode only dedicated two minutes to the documentary–styled recap of the war

in this manner, but it felt like the meticulous gradualness of the original series might be
interchanged for a more robust–paced narrative in the The New Thesis. Luckily, this was not the
case. As the series seems to have found its rightful mode of delivery: languid

It deals with the broad study of historical pagan practices prior to the Christianization of the people.
It's an ndispensable info for this project due to its section dealing with pagan practices and rituals,
some of which deal with werewolves.
It is used in this project for definitive evidence of transformation rituals, which are akin to the

Mind In Hegel's Decade Of The Brain
Our modern understanding of the human mind is much different than it was in the 17th to 19th
century, all the results from scientific research on brain studies during the Decade of the Brain.
Before, Mind was viewed as a real object but now we realize that people process information
somewhere, someplace in the brain. It was a creator of ideas with the personality. Today we realize
that it is what the rain does, an expression of neural networks processing information. And indeed
computer programs are being built to emulate that process. It is not an ethereal entity that can create
memories nor complete pictures on a scratchpad but along neural fibers that reconstruct outlines of
pictures. There are various states of consciousness and using language we hypothesize ideas, which
are then checked out on the opposite side of the brain against reality. And sometimes the physiology
falters and Mind goes berserk. But what that describes is a natural process with information
provided from the senses. It is not in communication with higher beings. It is simply engaged in
working out problems. Mind is thus a process and in fact dialectics is the very process that engages

Witchcraft In The Crucible
Within Macbeth, there are three witches which are supposed sisters. These witches are very
symbolic of demonic thoughts and actions. They consistently lurk among the side lines and implant
a sense of negativity among the characters throughout the entire play. The use of their couplets
displayed within the play also contributes to the whole idea of witchcraft. The most famous line
within the play from the witches would "Double, double, toil and trouble, / Fire burn and cauldron
bubble". As the witches speak of a cauldron and fire burning, it is as if they are mentally preparing
potions to perhaps bring disaster upon certain characters. Within The Crucible, there were a series of
events that stricken the whole town of Salem in fear. Beginning

The Hero's Journey Bygone Analysis
The writer of bygone and sleepless nights went thrice outside his room, and the afternoon shifted its
colour, hence contradicting his premier wishes, which lay yonder across the tangled bushes and the
green raindrops. 'Selfish sounds,' he said, while his eyes referred to the sky and the earth, thence
deeming insignificant the shoddy time which two guileful hands manipulated three consecutive
rounds in the middle. Thus, he resumed punishing his sagging chest whence this terrible vermin
came, or the crawler which he called the uneducated tune, without hesitation or a rhyme of doubt,

Nevertheless, this friend, who departed his body and freed himself from the impeding extremities,
spoke to him. 'Go back,' he said, 'the end of this road resembles its beginning,' and the friend
listened to his voice. Although he may not dissemble it, the writer attends various strains in every

Research Paper On The Baroque Era
The Baroque Period Lasting from the mid–1600s to the mid–1700s, the Baroque period ushered in
new styles of art and music. Music and art during that time exhibited a flowery, emotional feel.
While the music may seem well–behaved, to the people living in that period it was music gone wild.
The notes noodled up and down all over the sheet, such music and never been attempted before.
Composers experimented with new styles and structures breaking many former rules of music.
Prominent during this era was German–born composer George Frideric Handel. Handel's life
exhibits uniqueness at every turn. A German who trained in Italy, Handel is one of the most famous
English composers ever. At the age of 18 George left his barber–surgeon dad and the rest

During that time, he meets a variety of new people while also encountering old faces, namely a
whimsical elf named Puck. The important dynamic between Guts and Puck is how much Guts
opposed having Puck follow him, refusing to accept him. When he eventually does, it is subtle, but
a big step in Guts' recovery to trusting others again after being betrayed. Another big development
made in his personality during this time is his realization of how meaningless his travels have been
during those two years, his demon hunt barely displaying results in the larger world. He changes,
and instead of living to take revenge on Griffith, he decides to return to Casca and live to protect
her, vowing never to leave her behind again. A more mature man, Guts departs on a new journey
with Casca at his side, joined by Puck. On this second journey, he's eventually joined by new people
who wish to travel with him and learn about the world through him. Guts, as a character comes

describe the terrifying hauntings of inner guilt. Within the story, the main character's deranged
profile helped exaggerate how guilt can affect a person. Altogether, the story conveyed the message
in a more effective way, as it described the narrator's reactions in greater detail and especially built
his character. Taking up the largest portion of the story, the paranoid narrator (murderer) and the
aged man were the dominant characters. All characters were animated exceptionally well, and the
way they were drawn added incredible depth to the story. Moreover, the narrator had bags under his

Communication between lovers can be very difficult especially if one of the two in the relationship
had been raised with little to no affection shown to him and the only type of communication known
to the individual is violence. Yet even through much struggle and growing as a person, it is still
possible to learn how to love another. Such is the case with the main character Guts of the graphic
novel series Berserk by Kentaro Miura. I believe Guts was able to learn how to love and
communicate his love for his eventual lover Caska because of these reasons, Firstly his time

McCornk explains this as being someone with chronic hostility, people who always carry anger
around with them because they bottle it up for so long they are in a constant state of anger.
(McCornk, 2015) (p. 87). Understanding that Guts has been subjected to suffering and isolation he
does not socialize with others well even when the other parties are doing their best to establish a
friendship. We can see Gut's ability to communicate civilly with others eventually evolve after an
extended period of time with the other mercenaries this is due to him being part of an in group of
peers since they all fought for a living Guts was able to understand that he had more in common
with the others than previously believed. McCornk (2015) would suggest that Guts used Uncertainty
reduction theory with the group gathering as much information on them as he could that way he had
less uncertainty about them and understand how and the conversation becomes more predictable.

to build communal friendship as his walls and barriers begin to come down. To show evidence let us

front step of her small basement home. She felt attached towards it and she didn't know how to

girl's house. The girl wasn't surprised at all whereas she feels no emotions. She pushed the woman
who was muttering to herself out of the house. The girl called the police because the gentlewoman

Eden Mutters Alternate Ending
"This is the end." Adan mutters. Eden quickly gets out of bed and stands to the side of Adan. As
soon as Eden catches sight of the view Adan is witnessing, despair writes itself onto his face.
"Oh no." Eden whispers.
Giant balls of flames are falling from the blackened skies destroying every and anything it touches.
People are outside going berserk, as the earth beneath them is rising and shooting out lava.
"This is the end." Eden says in a way where he is confirming Adan's last statement. Suddenly the
earth beneath Adan's and Eden's house starts to rise and tears falls down from both of their eyes.
Adan grabs Eden's left hand, intertwining his fingers with his. Both Eden's and Adan's golden green
emerald ring, with many markings on them starts to glow a bit.
"I love you Eden." ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eden turns to Adan.
"Look me in my eyes and say it." More tears falls down from Eden's eyes. "Please." Eden mutters.
Adan turns to Eden still holding onto his hand and looks Eden directly in his glistening green eyes.
"I love you Eden. I will always love you. Even when we perish, our souls will find each other and
our love will live on."
Eden smiles. "Promise?" Eden says.
Adan smirks and nods. "I promise, as long as you promise to always love me."
Eden chuckles a bit. "You know I'll always love you."
Adan pulls Eden into a deep kiss, still keeping his fingers intertwined with Eden's. A giant fireball is
hurling towards their home. Adan presses his forehead against Eden's forehead and Eden's lips
stretch into a small smile.
"Even though we are going to die, this has to be the best moment of my life." And with those last
words from Eden a giant fireball crashes into their home, burning their flesh, burning their organs,
burning their bones, destroying them. The only thing the fire couldn't destroy, the only thing that
remained, were their

Friedrich Von Hayek Essay
John Maynard Keynes first reached success during 1919 (Marron). His theory for economic success
involved government use of fiscal policy. He believed that during times of downturn, the
government should spend money into new projects, public spending, tax cuts, and transfer payment;
which would lead to money once again circulating. But during times of success "booms", the
government should spend less and concentrate on saving for the next crash. He also argued that
aggregate demand was the key to the business cycle. When aggregate demand was low the business
cycle would crash, leading to high unemployment.
Friedrich von Hayek ideas became popular starting around the 1970s (Marron). His argument for
economic success contradicted those of Keynes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If we don't try to steer them they won't go berserk." (Ransom)
This stanza explains Hayek's beliefs on less government involvement and more freedom to the
people to make decisions. Government spending creates inflation "troubles". He wants government
to stop giving money to people that aren't employed because they should be independent. This
approach is laissez–faire because he wants people to do what they want by letting the market
synchronize with the people's demands without government intervening "let prices work". Prices
wont go "berserk" if their is no Socialism. All socialism does is lead to sloppy performances if the
government plans to "steer" the economy. The article explains that the economy might be headed
towards a downturn because the economy growth rate has not increased. Corporations sales and
profits are decreasing spending leading to a drop in aggregate demand. Although employment is
high personal savings have gone up .2% which means consumers are spending less and more
cautiously. Consumer spending has been negative or flat showing signs of a possible recession to
come. This reflects Keynes' idea that aggregate demand is correlated with the business

Personal Narrative: My Day At The Laser Tag Center
The much anticipated field trip day was finally here. Bright and early, we arrived at the Laser Tag
center.
I was with my friends; Michael, Joseph and Dylan in the same team. Feeling hyped up, I was
confident of winning the laser tag contest, even though I had never done it before.
My professional friends will provide some guidance.
With a streak of killing everything and dodging lasers, the game kicked off in a blast. Once hit, you
are not allowed to shoot for 5 seconds.
My team split so that we could hit more targets at the same time. 10 targets were hit in no time
before we got back together again. To win the game, we had to get to the opposite side without
being hit and destroy the opponent's diamond. We must also have a backup.

The Crucible Sheila Quotes Analysis
When she was physically or mentally, Sheila retaliated and seldom reacted to the situation properly
because she was unable to keep her emotions under control. In this scene, Torey has just arrived
from 4–day vacation and the other educators were describing how Sheila had behaved. "Sheila went
absolutely berserk. She refused to talk. She pulled all the stuff off the walls, all the books out of the
book cases. She gave Peter a bloody nose on Friday. She wouldn't do any work at all." (Hayden 122)
This quote illustrates how Sheila went on a rampage while Torey was gone. Sheila knew that she
could make Torey angry by refusing to cooperate with anyone else and being destructive in the
classroom. Torey Hayden's purpose is to show that Sheila let her

Out Of School Suspension, By Edgar Ramirez
Edgar Ramirez a famous Venezuela actor once said, "I believe in the will. I believe in discipline. I
believe in the organization. I believe in the rigor that gives us work. I believe in love as an engine of
all things. I believe in the light. I believe in God. I believe in kindness." When you get into trouble
you get disciplined by the principal or superintendent. What you do has a big influence on how you
get disciplined. Why we shouldn't have Out of school suspension. OSS shouldn't be apart of a
disciplinary because if you think about it, you are basically action teaching the student that it is okay
to do it. When you are giving them OSS you are just given more freedom, and then they begin to
think that they will get away with next time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In most cases when we get into trouble we see Dr. Pittman. When you get in trouble a lot Dr.
Pittman can be very lucid sometime, but you have to ameliorate your actions. When you got to see
the superintendent that usually means that you are in a lot more trouble because he is eminent. They
have several disciplinary action, but when you do something like getting into a fight with someone
they most times give you Out of School Suspension.
Getting disciplined all depends on what you do. When you do something that is minor you will have
and admonish conversation most times. When Dr. Pittman is talking you she will be forward, so it
will be important that you are temperate. If you do something really impermeable you will most
likely get OSS. When some kids see Dr. Pittman the students go berserk, so then she will discipline

Wild Pigs Satire
Oh no! Those destructive wild pigs and giant goldfish won't stop wrecking everything. I wish we
can stop them now!!! They both got sent into the wild by us, humans, and now they'll eat anything
in sight. They get sent into the wild, populate, and now they're found all over the U.S. Each one of
them gobbles down food anywhere. They're just like a tornado eating anything up clean with not a
single trace of food. You can see that they are an invasive species, but someone finds an effective
way to get rid of these animals. They have gone berserk. The wild pigs ripping up anything a farmer
could plant. They were supposed to be food for us, but now what we make is food for them. Some
wild pigs got delivered from Europe. Good thing goldfish don't

Angle Of Vision Analysis : Blissful Chicken Coop
Blissful Chicken Coop The rustic chicken coop was lively with 16 little chickens. Fresh air and
garden fertilizer filled the coop. All day the chickens play and nibble on their meals, laying little
eggs in their cozy nests. Inside the coop creative spiders knit crafty and beautiful webs, while dogs
and cats walk around and watch the adventurous birds wander. Memories flow back at the sight of
childhood bikes and toys. Through the building the sound of rustling leaves and chickens clucking
softly becomes a soothing sound.
Disgusting and Filthy Shed The old broken down chicken shack is filled with 16 dirty chickens. The
smell of manure and the dusty air overtake the chicken shed. All day they pester each other and
destroy their food, laying dirty eggs in their nests. The dogs and cats restlessly circle the cage like
hungry wolves, watching the chickens go berserk, while inside the shed creepy spiders spin sticky
thick webs. Horrible memories appear at the sight of dusty and wrecked bikes and toys. The sound
of chickens squawking and scratching leaves becomes a wretched sound.

Pros And Cons Of The Real Monster In Frankenstein
The Real Monster Who is the real monster, Victor, or the creature he creates? Both Victor and the
creature have their pros and cons. Yes, Victor created the creature but he had good intentions. And
yes, the creature murdered many innocent people, but he also just wanted to be accepted and was
tired of being an outcast. In my own opinion I believe that the creature is the true monster. In the
beginning of the novel when the creature is first created he goes berserk because everything is new
to him and he does not know where he is or what he is doing. He flees from Victor and goes deep
into the woods where he learns about fire and additional nature stuff. He keeps wandering until he
comes upon a village where he goes to accomodate with people.

Personal Narrative: My Second Life Of Gunny
My 2nd Life.
Gunny. The first online multiplayer game I've ever played. It's very popular from where I came
from. So you first start out by customizing your own avatar. Since you'll be level 1, you won't get
much choice of clothes, hairs and accessories to choose from. Gunny is an online multiplayer
shooting game–not–really. The way you get your avatar to fire is probably one of the most unique
ways I have ever seen. So there are angle, power and wind involve. You would have 5 to 20 seconds
(depends on which one you pick) to calculate the right angle and power (with wind involve which
makes it even harder) to it hit the person you're trying to shoot. Yes! A game that is fun to play and
good for you to practice your math skill; it is actually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was the one who changed my way of playing complete 360. So you see, the way he plays is by
going on top of the bridge and was dodging people shooting him. Me as a camper, I stayed in the
back and try my best not to get hit while at the same time, trying to hit him. To be honest, it was
very hard to hit Berserk. He can move super fast that even the sniper shots can't keep up with him.
After that one watch, I left because I didn't wanted to lose and decided to show up another time. A
day or two later, I decided to hop back on sniper and guess what? He was there, again... I was like
what the heck dude... and yeah, he of course recognized me this time and started going for me and
only me out of seven other people that was also in the server at that time! It was quite frustrating
because instead of going on the bridge this time, he stayed in the back and I was getting spawn
killed by him like crazy( talk about getting beat at your own game). But I didn't quit this time. I
stayed and tried my best to get first place and if I remember correctly, I won 1 out of 5 rounds that I
play with him... Wow that's pretty bad. But yeah, this happen again for approximately 2 weeks
straight! I was getting dominated by this same person over and over again. Until this one day, I meet
him again on sniper, but this time, he didn't kill and instead, he started talking to me about his new
custom skin he just made and that he was really proud of it. Somehow... we became really good
friends (besties) after that. Not to mention Berserk was the one who introduced me to Pros, a private
server for snipers that doesn't camp like himself.
From there on, I meet many really nice people who were also like Berserk to talk to and because of
that, I slowly started to change my way of playing. I stop going on other maps completely and
decided to stick with playing Sniper Forts(name of map). I became a "fulltime" sniper that doesn't
camp and for the first time in forever,

Life In The Trenches Narrative Report
1. Just got to my trench. I'm in the allied army, positioned on the western front. I can tell already this
isn't going to be much fun. 2. Life in this trench is not enjoyable. It is very boring. Occasionally, we
may see an aircraft fly by, but that is about it. 3. Some action has occurred. The enemy trench has
tried using gas against us. We managed to put on out masks in time, so none of us got injured. 4.
The past few days our trench has been shot at by a single enemy machine gun. As long as we keep
out head down we're safe. 5. Surprisingly little to no physical fighting has taken place. I expected to
see tanks. This is not what I imagined when I enrolled for the French military. 6. We know little
about the enemy. They are in trenches

Facts About Viking Warfare
The Vikings were a group of people from Denmark, Sweden and Norway and lived from 700AD–
1100AD. Most people think of Vikings as "blood thirsty raiders who pillaged and killed innocent
people from one country to another", which this is true because they were ruthless in their battles
and had no mercy. So Tthis essay will talk about Viking warfare and how thistheir practices prove
proves that they were blood thirsty raiders. The Vikings battle tactics and warriors were ruthless,
like their berserk warriors. Berserk warriors were just that – are where the term going berserk comes
from, and berserk means violently or destructively frenzied in their approach to fighting and
warfare. In their preparation for battle, So for the bBerserk warriors to go berserk they would drink
a concoction made from mushrooms, allowing them to then the next day they would be seen
chargeing into battle biting bits of their shield and not bothering with having wearing armour. The
berserkers Berserkers were believed to be blessed by Odin Odinand, and this along with their
ingestion of mushrooms ensured that they couldn't feel pain. This shows how blood thirsty they ...

They did this by aligning their fleet into two lines and tying them together to create a floating
platoon. In the middle of the platoon were the kings and warlords. On the outside of the platoon
were the prows that took most of the heat of the battle, because of this they were reinforced with
armour plates and sometimes spikes to put holes in the enemies ships. They would then face the
enemy fleet head on and try to board them in a chaotic action. Javelins and sometimes even stones
were thrown at the enemy before they boarded the enemy ship. Given the fact that land battles were
based on offense and that the Vikings tried to make naval battles as close to land battles as possible,
both land and naval battle tactics show the true brutality of

Berserkers Research Paper

  • 1. Berserkers Research Paper Berserkers You never forget a close encounter with a wild animal bent on hunting you down for their next meal. It is one of the terrifying experiences you could ever have. Now imagine being approached by a stealthy creature with the face of a man and the head of a bear or wolf brandishing sword and shield. The creature wild–eyed almost foaming at the mouth. Wouldn't that terrify you? This is a good description of the Berserker a Norse warrior who fought in a nearly uncontrollable, trance–like fury, a characteristic which later gave rise to the English word berserk. Berserkers appear in many poems and sagas. They describe berserkers as ravenous men who kill, plunder, and loot indiscriminately. In later dates, Christian interpreters described ... • 2. What Is Censorship? How does censorship in media undermine the creativity and enjoyment of what we indulge ourselves in? The existence of censorship itself can take many forms in media. Sometimes it can exist for reasonable reasons to the most absurd. This filter has existed as long as public demonstration has existed; there was always information that has not has not been shown or spreadto the public. Now in modern times, it has been used and implemented in across several formats in media and entertainment. Is it the opinions of people or someone in a higher power for something to be a product of censorship? Berserk had its debut in 1988 with its prototype and 1989 as a full–fledged story. This is a manga written and drawn by Kentaro Miura who has been in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Censorship is like a veil in art and originality. The same can apply to the stories artist tries to create for a viewer. Once censored it is just another story with likely a different meaning of what it was originally. When it comes to Berserk, it be viewed as mindless violence at a quick glance, but when fully read the reader can see it is the story of the protagonist Guts, he is not a mindless killer who brutally murders every foe in his path. Guts has a reason for doing so and a very specific one as well, since the story of guts is the living example of someone who had everything go wrong in their life. From being picked up by a prostitute traveling with mercenaries from his hanging mother in the middle of nowhere to seeing nearly all his comrades betrayed by his dear friend and left to the point of being mentally broken, Having that kind of story in a protagonist would be censored due to how unreasonably violent it would be. Now if Berserk did not have its creativity and twists that censoring would not allow, would it be a flavorless graphic manga lost before the new millennia? The manga itself would be very restrictive with its material and likely leave the reader with too much to ponder if many of its original ideas were squandered and extremely toned down. Would it still be better than it originally was or would it be some manifestation of senseless entrainment, is there a difference? ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. A Comparison Of The Epic Heroes, And The Characters Of... Beowulf represents a type of protagonists rarely seen in the modern world of entertainment, the epic hero. For centuries their simplistic tales of overcoming evil and their demeanor have dominated Western notions of masculinity: Control over emotion, physical strength, arrogance, innate morality, and an alpha male mentality. It might be ideal for older cultures and the Anglo–Saxon warriors that needed a model of morality they need to idolize, but in our times we need more. The America we live in is more global, more diverse, more interconnected that any previous civilization. Our definition of masculinity has changed as we progressed and learned more about ourselves as humans. We are postmodern society, where good and evil are subjective, and we crave for empathy and connection. Berserk's main character Guts, is such hero of our time. On the surface the two heroes share many similarities, they are both buff hyper–masculine males, they both wield enormous swords to fight fantastical monsters. Yet there are fundamental differences between the two. These became apparent after reading and analyzing both Beowulf and Berserk. Epic heroes are the epitome of good. They are good. They are the personified version of a culture's beliefs on morality and virtue. Their stories are cut out: a heroic quest/journey, good versus evil, and the triumph of the hero over the villain in the end. Simplistic in nature, epic heroes, like Beowulf, rarely show genuine emotion and rarely teach us, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Current norms, trends or political systems in today's world are criticized in this type of literature. Social characteristics, types of control, and the dystopian protagonist are three key elements in dystopian stories. In order to acquire why an author would want to write a dystopian story, as readers, we must try to understand, why writing a utopian story would be an unexceptional form of literature, to any respected author, because just thinking about reading about a perfect world without any conflict what so ever, would bore a daily reader to death. • 8. Ginga Eiyuu (Legend Of The Galactic Heroes Crafting a masterful anime is similar to cultivating a delicate flower, it requires a willingness to accept circumstances the way they are, and not the way we wish them to be. Lithops, a flower with a low dependence on water, can have their skins burst if they are oversaturated with excess liquids. In the same breath, an anime that strives for over–the–top action sequences (e.g. run–of–the–mill Shounen anime) but neglects the political, economic, and social struggles that accompany those events, falsely establishes a dichotomous situation that rarely, if ever, exists. The original Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu (Legend of the Galactic Heroes) understood these concepts extremely well, taking every opportunity it could to flesh out characters, explore pertinent historical events, and question the role(s) of government and its people. If it were required to sum up the original series in one– word, it would be: methodical. Nothing ever felt rushed, hurried, or crammed down our throats. Not saying that I did not enjoy the presentation of the material in this manner, but it felt like the meticulous gradualness of the original series might be interchanged for a more robust–paced narrative in the The New Thesis. • 10. Mind In Hegel's Decade Of The Brain Our modern understanding of the human mind is much different than it was in the 17th to 19th century, all the results from scientific research on brain studies during the Decade of the Brain. Before, Mind was viewed as a real object but now we realize that people process information somewhere, someplace in the brain. It was a creator of ideas with the personality. Today we realize that it is what the rain does, an expression of neural networks processing information. And indeed computer programs are being built to emulate that process. It is not an ethereal entity that can create memories nor complete pictures on a scratchpad but along neural fibers that reconstruct outlines of pictures. There are various states of consciousness and using language we hypothesize ideas, which are then checked out on the opposite side of the brain against reality. And sometimes the physiology falters and Mind goes berserk. But what that describes is a natural process with information provided from the senses. It is not in communication with higher beings. It is simply engaged in working out problems. Mind is thus a process and in fact dialectics is the very process that engages Mind. Such is the case with the main character Guts of the graphic novel series Berserk by Kentaro Miura. "This is the end." Eden says in a way where he is confirming Adan's last statement. Suddenly the earth beneath Adan's and Eden's house starts to rise and tears falls down from both of their eyes. Even when we perish, our souls will find each other and our love will live on." Eden smiles. "Promise?" Eden says. Adan smirks and nods. "I promise, as long as you promise to always love me." Eden chuckles a bit. "You know I'll always love you." Adan pulls Eden into a deep kiss, still keeping his fingers intertwined with Eden's. A giant fireball is hurling towards their home. Adan presses his forehead against Eden's forehead and Eden's lips stretch into a small smile. "Even though we are going to die, this has to be the best moment of my life." • 29. Friedrich Von Hayek Essay John Maynard Keynes first reached success during 1919 (Marron). His theory for economic success involved government use of fiscal policy. He believed that during times of downturn, the government should spend money into new projects, public spending, tax cuts, and transfer payment; which would lead to money once again circulating. But during times of success "booms", the government should spend less and concentrate on saving for the next crash. He also argued that aggregate demand was the key to the business cycle. When aggregate demand was low the business cycle would crash, leading to high unemployment. Friedrich von Hayek ideas became popular starting around the 1970s (Marron). His argument for economic success contradicted those of Keynes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If we don't try to steer them they won't go berserk." (Ransom) – http://hayekcenter.org/?p=4804 This stanza explains Hayek's beliefs on less government involvement and more freedom to the people to make decisions. Government spending creates inflation "troubles". He wants government to stop giving money to people that aren't employed because they should be independent. This approach is laissez–faire because he wants people to do what they want by letting the market synchronize with the people's demands without government intervening "let prices work". Prices wont go "berserk" if their is no Socialism. All socialism does is lead to sloppy performances if the government plans to "steer" the economy. The article explains that the economy might be headed towards a downturn because the economy growth rate has not increased. Corporations sales and profits are decreasing spending leading to a drop in aggregate demand. Although employment is high personal savings have gone up .2% which means consumers are spending less and more cautiously. Consumer spending has been negative or flat showing signs of a possible recession to come. This reflects Keynes' idea that aggregate demand is correlated with the business ... I was with my friends; Michael, Joseph and Dylan in the same team. Feeling hyped up, I was confident of winning the laser tag contest, even though I had never done it before. My professional friends will provide some guidance. With a streak of killing everything and dodging lasers, the game kicked off in a blast. Once hit, you are not allowed to shoot for 5 seconds. My team split so that we could hit more targets at the same time. 10 targets were hit in no time before we got back together again. To win the game, we had to get to the opposite side without being hit and destroy the opponent's diamond. We must also have a backup. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

All day the chickens play and nibble on their meals, laying little eggs in their cozy nests. Yes, Victor created the creature but he had good intentions. And yes, the creature murdered many innocent people, but he also just wanted to be accepted and was tired of being an outcast. In my own opinion I believe that the creature is the true monster. In the beginning of the novel when the creature is first created he goes berserk because everything is new to him and he does not know where he is or what he is doing. He flees from Victor and goes deep into the woods where he learns about fire and additional nature stuff. He keeps wandering until he comes upon a village where he goes to accomodate with people. ... So you first start out by customizing your own avatar. Since you'll be level 1, you won't get much choice of clothes, hairs and accessories to choose from. Gunny is an online multiplayer shooting game–not–really. The way you get your avatar to fire is probably one of the most unique ways I have ever seen. So there are angle, power and wind involve. You would have 5 to 20 seconds (depends on which one you pick) to calculate the right angle and power (with wind involve which makes it even harder) to it hit the person you're trying to shoot. Yes! So you see, the way he plays is by going on top of the bridge and was dodging people shooting him. He can move super fast that even the sniper shots can't keep up with him. After that one watch, I left because I didn't wanted to lose and decided to show up another time. A day or two later, I decided to hop back on sniper and guess what? He was there, again... I was like what the heck dude... and yeah, he of course recognized me this time and started going for me and only me out of seven other people that was also in the server at that time! It was quite frustrating because instead of going on the bridge this time, he stayed in the back and I was getting spawn killed by him like crazy( talk about getting beat at your own game). But I didn't quit this time. I stayed and tried my best to get first place and if I remember correctly, I won 1 out of 5 rounds that I play with him... Wow that's pretty bad.
