1. Evaluation question 6
What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
2. Photoshop
• I have learnt many different processes whilst using
Photoshop to create my magazine, I used it to create my
front cover as I thought it would be the best programme to
use. I used the tools such as 'text' and 'shapes' I did this by
downloading the font that i wanted from 'da-font' and then
using it throughout my magazine to create a theme. I used it
to create water effects on the background and chequered
effect on the middle bit. Even things like cropping around
the main image worked really well and exactly how I wanted
it too.
3. Quark
• I also used quark, I used this for my contents page. I did this
because it was a different soft wear to use and I thought that it
would be good to show a variety of things that I am able to use to
create different pages on my magazine. As well as doing this for my
double page spread, it ensured that the text was correctly in
proportion and that the images did not overlap. I imported the
images from Photoshop so that they were exactly how I wanted as
Quark doesn't supply the right tools to edit images effectively.
• I learnt that I didn't really like using this type of programme as it
didn't work as well as I wanted it too and it confused me a little at
times. I think by learning how to use it, it has helped me understand
different programmes and how each provider uses different tools to
change the ways that their programme uses the content.
4. Prezi
• Prezi was a new thing that I got introducted too. I like all the
different layouts that are used within it, so that you can
present your work in a more unique and designed way rather
than just plain and boring. As well as being able to use a
different programme to express my work I found that it was
more motivating wanting to complete my work and watch it
back and check it becuase of the animations that engrossed
me and will others.
5. SLR Cannon
• I have learnt how to differ my camera shots that I take and how to
successfully do a photo shoot that is presentable and has the
images that I need first time around. Although I learnt that the
more images that you take on a photo shoot the more you have to
mess around with them and choose the best one that fist the pages
that I was doing, such as the photo shoot out side, I took around 8
pictures for this and I chose 1 that I wanted to use and blended it
with a photo shoot I did in a recording studio and took around 30
images. By blending both my favourite images for this, I ended up
with the perfect picture for my double page spread.
• I learnt how to connect my camera correctly and import the images
that I needed to my blog and to my own computer where I can
access them whenever need be.
6. Youtube
• I learnt to use and upload videos to YouTube, I did
this so that I could use different programmes and
internet links to put my videos that I’d taken
online.
• This helped me for future reference because I am
now able to do this and include little edits or cut
outs on the videos so that I am able to present
the videos that I’ve taken in the correct way.
7. Slide share.net
• I used this as well as YouTube to share my videos, I used it to
present my powerpoints becausae youtube wasn’t as good at it. I
foudn that it was an easy thing to use and that it did the job exactly
how I wanted it to.
• The only thing that I didn’t like was that it was a bit slow on
uploading the videos and converting them when I needed them to
do it quick such as on the final deadline, my videos wouldn’t
upload correctly and I didn’t think it was the best thing that you
cannot edit things such as the final outcome of it and the speed or
button type that you use to play the video on my blog.
• Other than this I liked using this because I was able to show that I
could use a verity of different programmes to present my work.
