2. TAKING THE PHOTOS.
• To take the photos I used my Nikon D3400 camera. I took the photos in and around the school, however
all the photos I used in the magazine have been taken outside. The advantage of this is that I was free to
move around instead of taken the photos just in one place. The difficulties of taking to photos was
adjusting the settings as when we moved locations there was a different type of lighting causing me to
continuously change the settings. When I was taking the pictures for my preliminary magazine I used
my phone which was straight forward and simple. The advantages of this was that I didn’t have to do
anything with the setting and it was very fast. The disadvantage is that the pictures were not of high
standard and may have not been sharp enough.

3. USING PHOTOSHOP
• I have used Photoshop plenty of times, however I only knew how to use simple tools. The hardest part
was editing the fur on the hood on the front cover. The advantage of using Photoshop is that you can
change colours and tones of a photo and still make it look real, you can change the background of a
photo and still make it look as though the photo was actually taken there. The disadvantage of using
Photoshop is that if you have never used it before it will be quiet hard to get into the hang of how it
works also the process of using Photoshop is very long.

4. USING INDESIGN
• For me using InDesign was the hardest part of making the magazine. This is because I have never used
this program at all so it was long process of learning how everything works. However once I knew how
everything worked it made everything much easier. The advantage of using InDesign is that it allows
your magazine to look very professional and there is lots of tools to make sure everything is in place.
The disadvantage of using InDesign is that if it is our first time using it, it is very long and complicated to
use.

5. USING SLIDE SHARE
• Using slide share was very easy. The only downside of using slide share is that you cant actually make
the presentation on slid share, you first have to make it on PowerPoint then save it and upload it on
slide share. I had difficulty uploading the slide share to the blog so for the time being I just uploaded as
a link to the blog. Another disadvantage of using Slide share is that you have to put it onto public so that
it can be viewed on the blog which means everyone can see it and they are capable of stealing my work.
The advantage of using Slide share is that it is very easy to publish.

6. USING PREZI
• Using Prezi is very simple and I like it because it is a very different and unique way to present your work.
The advantage of using Prezi is that you don’t have to do much when it come to presentation because
you just have to choose the template that you are going to use then put your information on to it. The
disadvantage of using Prezi is that you may not be able to fit all of your information into the section you
want it to be in so you might have to cut some of your work out, also the template might have a lot of
extra things that you don’t need and you would have to cut them out.

7. USING YOUTUBE
• You was very handy when using different software's. The advantages of using YouTube was that I was
able to watch tutorials on how to use things such as Photoshop and InDesign. However this was also a
disadvantage because sometimes I wasn’t able to find a video that would be able to help me with what
I actually needed so I had to spend time looking for other videos which became time wasting.

8. USING BLOGGER
• Blogger was a good website to post and keep update with my work, it was also a safe place to upload
my work because I knew by doing it this way I wouldn’t loose any work. The advantage of this is that is
that I can do my work straight from the blog and upload it. The disadvantage of using is that you
couldn’t copy and paste a photo you had to save it and upload a picture, sometime when I wanted to
upload my work there would be an error and it would show on my computer that I have uploaded it
however it wouldn’t show it on my teacher computer, when I update my work my teacher wouldn’t
know about it and my blog can be accessed from anywhere meaning people can copy my work.
