Comedy Film Analysis Reveals Energetic Shots and Bright Colors
1. What I have found in my content analysis?
In my content analysis I have found that the comedy genre is a very in
your face and bight genre. There isn’t many dull moments or pictures
that are related to the film posters, magazines and trailers which I
have analyzed.
The trailers that I analyzed have shown me what I should be trying to
achieve within my own movie trailer. I have learned that I have to
have fast and energetic shots, which aren’t boring, or to long. Around
3 seconds seems to be the longest scene or shot which I have watched
and also the mise-en-scene which is used in the trailers and pictures
taken for the magazine and poster covers are very well thought out.
This then helps gives a good impression of what to expect from the
trailer of poster.
Magazine covers that I have analyzed have had the same sort of style,
layout, image and colour use for all of them. The layout of the
magazine is seemingly very messy and hectic to go with the
stereotypical conventions of a teenager that is the main comedy genre
outlook. Also the colours, which are used and seemed to be very bright
and not dull, and boring, which you might find in a horror or a
documentary film. The image used for each of the magazines which I
analyzed are very well though out as they give a very good impression
of what the characters are like and what there role in the movie is,
this is very important as the meaning of a film being published on a
magazine is for people to become interested and hooked to the film.
The posters that I have analyzed have all had the same layout scheme,
image content an colour scheme. The layout of the posters was mainly
that the masthead of the film was top the bottom third of the page.
The image on the to posters is the main focus of the posters, it is in
the middle of the page and it the thing which catches your eye the
most. The colour scheme used in both of the posters was very bright
and caught the eye of people who I showed it to.
