Statement of the Problem
In the educational field it is required different resources that facilitate the learning
according to what is most used and generate more interest in students. That is why the
implementation of PLEs in teaching English as foreign English is one of the main options in
the educational field.
General objective
Demonstrate the effects of implementing PLEs in teaching English as a foreign language.
Hypothesis
Students will improve the acquisition of new vocabulary as a result of the treatment of
Personal Learning Environment.
Research questions
What is the effect of using PLEs in English as foreign English students?
What is the process of learning new vocabulary new through PLEs?
Is it reliable to use PLEs in the educational field?
Independent variable: The treatment
Dependent variable: Effects of PLEs and acquisition of new vocabulary

What´s the author´s main argument?
In this constructive conversation I explained to my partner Astrid what is going to be my
research about. I said to her that this research is going to focus on PLEs effect on
acquisition of new vocabulary.
I told her that I wanted to work with International relations students from English basic
level because this is the level in which students are required to learn more vocabulary.
What evidence does the authorput forward to support the argument and conclusion?
When discussing with Astrid, we realized that both have to work with a book called
“Aprendizaje Invisible” since it takes into account the impact of technological advances
and the transformations of formal, non-formal and informal education, aspects that are
important in our investigations.
I mentioned to her that I am going to work with some theories like connectivism,
constructivism and LaaN theory since those are the theories I need to support my
research.
It was a good idea to discuss our research topics in class as we were able to get feedback
from ourselves. Also, we could help us to decide which theories and books we can read to
support our literature review and theoretical framework. Moreover, it was nice to know
other points of view about my work and it helps me to improve my research project.
