The document discusses different themes that could be incorporated into a teaser trailer for a film:

2. DRAMA
The first theme that I found when conducting trailer research is that there is a lot of
drama within a teaser trailer. For instance within LEGEND there are quite a few scenes
of the Kray twins punching.
This is something I want to add to our teaser because it should convey the dramatic
relationship between the two protagonists. It will also represent the conflict and
relationship between the two gangs which should be percieved as unhealthy.
3. SUSPENSE
This is another key theme because I want to attract the attention of our audience so
that they want to go and see the film. To do this the trailer needs to have suspense so
that the audience want to know what will happen next. As well as wanting to know
what will happen , the audience should also feel connected to the characters because
they can relate to a similar situation.
Another reason as to why suspense should be added to the trailer is to inform the
audience that this film is intended for those who are interested in this period in time
and how powerful gangs were as well as the amount of influence they had.
4. ACTION
Action should be added to the teaser so that the audience know that the film isn’t dull
but exciting and action packed. It also informs the audience that the action elements
within a trailer represent the larger amount of action within the film.
Another benefit of having action within the trailer is that there are either
consequences or aggravation , this is also shown in the teaser but follows a different
theme I want to hint at. Overall action adds an element that can cause the audience
feel excited but also interest as to what is going happen.
5. ROMANCE
Romance is the theme I want to try and convey through the teaser trailer , this theme
is to act mainly for the subplot of the relationship between the protagonist and his
rivals younger sister.
This theme should be represented in the trailer through the appearance of the female
protagonist (The younger sister of the rival gang leader). By adding this theme , the
trailer aims to attract an audience that would be interested as to how the relationship
between the male and female protagonists develops.
