2. I used the effect/transition of film dissolve as my main transition other than using jump cuts. This
created flowing transition between each of the shots and made the rhythm of the music video much
smoother and fit with the slower and calmer sound of the song.
3. This is an example of how I changed
and adjusted the opacity of each of
the shots so that they will fade in
and out of on another, focusing on
each segment at any given time in
this specific part of the song. It also
suggests how each of characters
are linked together. Also I zoomed
in, increasing the size of some of
the footage so that some shots are
bigger than other; making them the
main focus of the viewing audience.
4. I also had a second video shoot 3
weeks after I conducted my first.
This I decided would make the
music video much more interesting
due to how I would use much
higher intensity and also lower
intensity lighting to focus on Marko
and also his silhouette. I cut these
shots again using jump cuts to
increase the tempo of the video in
general and make it much more
interesting to watch.
5. Throughout I also changed the
opacity of some of the footage to
50% so that it could overlap onto
other footage playing the same
time. This I used frequently to
suggest flashbacks that my actors
were thinking and also increase the
mysterious tone of the music video.
I also attempted to edit each of the
shots in this particular segment so
that they would change between
each actor on the beat of the song,
using the cutting tool.
6. On premiere I was able to slow down
and also reverse some of my footage.
Anything I wanted to slow down was
changed from 100% speed to 50%. This
allowed the shots to be much more
dramatic and also slow; focusing on the
movements of the actors and also the
features on their face, like Rhianne
applying lipstick onto her lips.
7. I then went onto include the shots from
my third and final video shoot. I decided
to only include a limited number of these
shots as not all fit in with the look of the
overall video. I decided to also blend
these shots with the others, having them
overlap by changing their opacity and also
using film dissolve again to have the fade
in and out of each other.
8. The final stage of my
production process on my
music video was to lower the
saturation on the footage of
Marko. I lowered it to 60% and
gradually throughout the video
increasing the saturation level
by 2%. His saturation levels
match the tempo and built up
of the song that I have been
using- overall making it more
interesting to the viewer.
