Project 2 – Identifying and Collecting Digital Evidence
1. What permissions/authorities should you have before you search Mr. Yourprop's former Company work area, and how would you document that
authority?
Generally speaking, an employer can search an employee's desk or work area without expecting any legal repercussions. The desk is property of the
employer, therefore the employee should not be entitled to a reasonable expectation of privacy in their work area (Privacy at Work: What Are Your
Rights?, 2015). Even though this is generally the case, its best practice, by and large, to have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
USB Flash Drives are also sometimes used as encryption keys for encryption tools such as BitLocker Drive Encryption (Microsoft, 2015). To collect
and transport as evidence, place the USB Flash Drive into a static shock protective bag (U.S. Dept of Homeland Security, U.S. Secret Service, 2007).
Document any make, model, or serial number designations on the device. The hard drive on the desk would be a good third source of digital
evidence to seize. Assuming this hard drive is used for additional storage (i.e. does not have an Operating System on it), it would contain data similar
to that which would've been on the USB Flash Drive: documents, images, videos, and maybe even some software files. Documentation should be done
on the make, model, serial number and type (e.g. SATA, IDE, SCSI) of hard drive. For transportation, again, place into a static shock protective bag.
Remember to keep the hard drive away from anything magnetic as the platters that are inside the hard drive are magnetically charged (U.S. Department
of Justice, 2008).
3. Look at the photo of Mr. Yourprop's work area provided for Project 2 in the Week 5 Overview area. Identify three (3) potential items of non
–digital
evidence you see in the photo. For EACH item of non–digital evidence you identified, explain what potential use that item would be to your
investigation (e.g., what kind of evidence it is, and what type of data that item

The Effects Of Viral Load On Hiv Essay
On November 10, 2016, a new report was released to the public about a special type of microchip that can test the amount of viral load of HIV in less
than 30 minutes. This test can be completely self administered. The user can check the viral load amount in the bloodstream by placing a drop of their
blood on the microchip, which looks similar to that of a USB drive. This microchip is then inserted into a computer, tablet, or other handheld device.
The results can be achieved in less than 30 minutes, and many users had an answer in about 21 minutes with 95% accuracy. The current method
requires sending blood to a laboratory and can take at least three days, if not longer, to detect the viral load present. This microchip can help to monitor
those patients who are receiving treatment, but do not have access to local clinics. Researchers hope that this device can specifically help in
Sub–Saharan Africa and other rural areas which may not have easy access to testing facilities nearby (Imperial College London: 2016). This new
microchip received a lot of publicity for a few major reasons. While it is not currently commercially available, it provided a "proof of concept" for a
point–of–care method for the detection of the viral load of HIV present. This is the first report of an on–chip detection of RNA via microchip. While
there are a few similar products that are close to market or in development, they all require lab equipment and a desktop instrument to find results,

Introduction
Here is a small tutorial that suffices you with the basic concepts required to put up eyes on your robot. Trust me, if you are into robotics, you are
going to enjoy the next few pages. After all, making "a robot that can see" would really be cool! So let's get started!
A vision based robot has an image acquisition device like a webcam as its eyes. Then we need a processor that can make sense out of those captured
images and actuators like dc motors for navigation. One key point to note is that Image Processing has huge computational requirements, and it is not
possible to run an image processing code directly on a small microcontroller. Hence, for our purpose, the simplest approach would be to run the code
on a computer, which has a webcam connected to it to take the images, and the robot is controlled by the computer via serial or parallel port. The code is
written in a software that provides the tools for acquiring images, analyzing the content in the images and deriving conclusions. MATLAB is one of the
many such software available which provide the platform for performing these tasks.

The Itrust Database
When further analyzing the iTrust database, there was an issue of the lack of credit card information not being encrypted. The lack of credit cart
encryption does not only lead to a major concern for the company, but also for the client. The risk of exposed PII invalidates any confidentiality for the
company due to the threat posed to client credit card information. Because health care provider is a credit card merchant since they accept, transmit, or
store credit card data, they must adhere to the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) to protect the customer's confidential data.
One of the requirements is that merchants must encrypt transmission of cardholder data and sensitive information across public networks. (OWASP,...

These proposals and systems suggestions can minimize the vulnerabilities associated with any compromises or intrusions within the network.
Deploying an intrusion detection system is an essential security strategy for monitoring a network information system for abnormal or authorized
activity. An intrusion detection system (IDS) is set of tools which monitor a network topology by providing a system administrator with the overall
picture of how the system is being utilized. Executing an IDS will make a difference in creating a defense in depth architecture to be more compelling
in recognizing any form of malicious activities. The capacity of the IDS is to monitor and survey the network traffic without affecting network activity.
IDS tools gather information and analyzes it against a pre–characterized manage set, and against a set of known assault 'marks'. The IDS can scan port
numbers and to determine if any breaches or attacks are occurring (Kuipers,

Fire Wire Advantages And Disadvantages
Fire Wire is a standard high–performance cable, used to connect multiple devices together or to a computer. Fire Wire is also capable of very high
speed communications and quick real–time data transfer. It is also called the 'IEEE 1394'. The number of pins on a Fire Wire cable can vary, it can
either have 4,6 or 9 pins. The maximum voltage it can carry is 30 volts. The data exchange rates on a standard Fire Wire 400, also called the 'IEEE
1394a', can go as high as 400 mbps. However the new Fire Wire 800, also called the 'IEEE 1395b', has data transfer rates of up to 800 mbps. In the
future the data exchange rates can go up to 1600 mbps and 3200+ mbps. A Fire Wire cable is very easy to use. It is a plug and play environment which
means that the wire can be used as soon as it is plugged in, no need for system configuration. Using Fire Wire cable is as easy as plugging or
unplugging a your computers power cord. There are quite a few benefits of Fire Wire. Fire Wire has faster data exchange rates (100 Mb/s) in
comparison to USB 2.0(60 Mb/s). A Fire Wire port can easily be found on most laptops and computers. However there are som down sides to this.
The data exchange rates are very slow in comparison to newer, more widely available connections like USB 3.0 ( 625 Mb/s) or Thunderbolt (1.25 Gb
/s). The use of Fire Wire is becoming very limited, most new computers don't even feature them anymore like Mac's ( even though Apple made them).

The Invention Of Usb Flash Drive Or Usb Stick Driver
The invention of USB flash drive or USB stick driver is based on PC connectors condition at that time, which is too much and very complicated.
According to John Garger in his article Who Invented the USB Flash Drive?, USB mass storage devices were first developed by a group of computer
companies including Intel, Compaq, Microsoft, Sony, DEC, IBM, and Northern Telecom. They want to make a special basic device connection
protocol to standardize the PC connectors; this will facilitate data transfer and connection between devices. Universal Serial Bus or better known as
USB was first introduced in late 1995 and released in January 1996. Now USB flash drive has a standard set by the International Electro–technical
Commission or IEC, which has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In securing data storage, information, and applications, USB flash drives use biometric software and encryption as a liability or as a norm. The
on–the–fly encryption system or OTFE is used to encrypt large amounts of data in a transparent manner. An example is IEEE 1667, According to
Brenda Barron in his article IEEE 1667 format makes for cross–platform USB drive security, this is one of the efforts to create a generic authentication
platform that has been supported by Windows 7 and Windows Vista, Service Pack 2 with hotfix. This explains that USB flash drive is one of
artificial intelligence, which can mimic cognitive function or human mind to learn to read data or interpret complex data, store and recall data or
encryption. In addition, smart routing on the content delivery network. In some cases even in law enforcement, there is also software working on
USB flash drives, such as the Computer Online Forensic Evidence Extractor or COFEE application developed by Microsoft. This is a set of
applications used to search and extract digital evidence on computers and USB flash drives. In addition, software or applications such as FreeOTFE
are used for storing data, configuration information, and others on a USB flash drive without the host computer 's registry. In 2005, most USB flash
drives support machine learning, which uses predesigned model design and algorithms that match predictions for predictive analysis. Such as a

Usb Drives And Usb Drive Data Transfer
CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1. INTRODUCTION Portability and mobility of storage devices like flash drives and USB devices are
becoming so popular to carry and transport data on the go. Unlike CD/DVD, hard drive, floppy disk or tape drive, a flash memory has no moving
parts, so it guarantees fast read/write speeds and more durable compared to other forms of storage media. Using a flash drive/memory card to
transfer a file typically uses a computer (e.g. laptop, pc, netbook or tablet) to initialize mass storage communication which is not portable.
Smartphone can exchange the data through Bluetooth but can't act as host to USB drive to USB drive communication for data transfer. The
proposed system bridges the gap of USB drive to USB drive data transfer when a computer is not present. Because of low prices of Smartphone
almost everybody use smartphone so even Smartphone can't act as host but it can acts as mediator and can be used as user interface to give
operational command for data transfer. Moreover, booting a computer just to transfer a file/s is ridiculous. In an earlier research, an embedded system
is used wherein a slave to slave flash drive transfer makes it possible to transfer file/s using a programmable microcontroller with USB multi–role
embedded host/peripheral controller and navigation control. This makes it possible to transfer data from a flash drive to another flash drive with 100%
data integrity using MD5 checksum algorithm. That research also

ABSTRACT: The aim of this work is to develop an embedded system directed at automating appliances in an industry via Ethernet. Previously Anish
NK , Kowshick B , S.Moorthi presented paper on "Ethernet based Industry Automation using FPGA" in year 2013 whereas GopinathS, BhanuprasadP,
Harish, SindhuraG, Gautam R.P, Shivas.v.c,Sindhu.B,James.C presented paper on "Bluetooth Communication using touch screen interface with
Raspberry Pi". Considering their results we have designed a system which employs server/client architecture; switching commands for the appliances
which are connected to the client can be received and displayed at either end. The data containing information about the control commands are
transferred between the end points of communication using Transmission Control Protocol (TCP). The remote host processes the commands received
and translates them into actions of switching particular appliances ON or OFF. This type of control system gives the liberty for control of appliances
from remote locations connected through Ethernet. A novel embedded system has been designed, implemented on Raspberry Pi and a small–scale
prototype is developed and tested.

"The programmers of tomorrow are the wizards of the future. You're going to look like you have magic powers compared to everybody else." A quote
said by the programmer Gabe Newell of his opinion about programming. Past few years, programming developed a lot. From simple games like
Pac–Man to high resolution games like FIFA, Black Ops, and Grand Theft Auto. Programming is widespread profession, as every year, even more
and more start learning how to program. Inspired by their idols their idols Mark Zuckerberg who invented the most popular Social Media site,
Facebook, Bill Gates who invented Microsoft or many others, people try to achieve their success. The ability to make an applications or games, and

Focusing Marketing Efforts on Specific Groups: Teenagers...
Focusing Marketing Efforts on Specific Groups: Teenagers or Youth Philip Kotler cited that in Marketing, a product is anything that can be offered
to a market that might satisfy a want or need. In retailing, products are called merchandise. In manufacturing, products are bought as raw materials
and sold as finished goods. Commodities are usually raw materials such as metals and agricultural products, but a commodity can also be anything
widely available in the open market. In our daily living, we have to provide those things we really need in life for us to survive by means of buying

Well in the fact that there are a lots of the same product but not the same brand and company which are now competing in the market. Like Happy
toothpaste, Close–up, Sensodyne and many more because now on consumers are now sensitive enough in choosing what product might them to
choose. The Colgate product is still the same compare to others. But this said product has something to patronize because in my own observation
where Colgate is more highly recommended than other product because Colgate has the quality and ability to sustain their product and also it
really gives very big and full impact for us the consumers will continue purchasing in a single sachet or in a large portion where people can also buy in
a easy way where some can save money and can afford it. My second product is the USB. USB flash drives represent a large part of the storage device
market, which is also occupied by hard–disk drives and SD memory cards. Often, buyers must make the choice between these three devices when
looking for a way to store and transfer computer data. Each of these products suits different needs, but USB flash drives offer a certain number of
advantages when compared to hard–disk drives and SD memory cards. Because USB drives contain no moving parts, they are more durable than hard
drives, and it is this durability, combined with their very small size that makes them easy to carry around. USB drives

b)Solid State Drive (SSD) Assuming we all are familiar with USB memory stick, an SSD is can be considered as an oversized and more
complicated version of the USB stick. Unlike the HDDs, there are no moving parts in the SSDs. Thus, it stores data in microchips and is faster
than the HDDs. The choice of which of the two is the better depends on the buyer's needs and preference. The price of SSDs is comparatively
higher so as its performances relatively faster than HDDs [5]. Thus, if the buyer is more concern for better performance and not so concern about
the price, he or she can go for SSD rather than HDD. However, if the buyer is more concern about the price than the performance then he or she can

5.Customizing and Configuring PC Components The previous steps (1 thru 4) describe the various components of the computers available in today's
market and suggest the users for making an efficient choice for customizing their PCS. This is the most important section of the document and it deals
with the assembling, configuration, and installation the PC components. Even though this task cannot be detailed in a short document of this length, I
will try my best to summarize the process in a simplest possible manner. The assembling of the software components of PC can easily be done by
using some of the available online resources. Therefore, I have intentionally excluded those steps to shorten the document. The users of this guide are
urged to refer available online videos for additional references concerning this subject and any other information they might need. Customization of a
PC can be done just by replacing a single component or multiple components. Whether the customizing is for improving the performance or for
replacing a broken component, making a mindset for customizing comes in first place. Users are required to buy desired component/components
following the guidelines provided in the earlier section of this guide. Since, customizing requires the installation of one or more components based on
the user's preference and necessities, I am giving brief guidelines for installing the system unit followed by its

Flash Drive Advantages And Disadvantages
What is a USB Flash Drive? The term USB stands for Universal Serial Bus and is used to define a special kind of connection between a computer
and other electronic devices. The connections can serve different purposes ranging from power supply to communication. A USB flash drive is a
storage device that acts as a portable hard drive, but generally has a much more limited capability in comparison. As mentioned, their purpose is to
store digital information and to transfer information between systems. Other popular names used for these devices include; USB drive, USB
stick, thumb drive and memory stick. Advantages of using USBs (at least 4) USBs have an assortment of advantages associated with them. They
are extremely portable, allowing for information to be easily carried around and relocated. This can go a long way for jobs and school projects, as
it allows work to be taken home for further use. Another great advantage is their ease of use, as they are extremely simple to use and are extremely
fast at storing information. This could come in handy in emergencies where information needs to be saved urgently. An example of this, although
extreme, would be in the case of an evacuation, whether that is a fire or some other emergency. This work could quickly be stored onto a USB so it
is saved. USBs are also extremely compatible, as most modern computers are designed to include USB access. This allows an almost universal
transferability of information between computers, excellent

The Convergence Of Methods Of Storing Files
Americans today have seen the progression from old media to new media; majority, experiencing for themselves the transition from pagers to cell
phones, cassettes to iPods, or paper maps to GPS devices. According to Henry Jenkins, who studies media convergence, this "Convergence [where old
and new media collide] represents a cultural shift as consumers are encouraged to seek out new information and make connections among dispersed
media content" (Jenkins 457). It is through the help of convergence that old media has developed into the new media Americans see today. The
convergence of methods of storing files is an example of this. Storing files online, is taking the old media, a USB Flash Drive, and converging it into a

Dropbox is a cloud storage service; a business that overlooks a users' data and makes that data accessible online. Because Dropbox has introduced
people to the idea of accessing wireless data, this reveals how this type of new media has changed the way that content is produced, distributed, and
consumed. Although the use of either a USB Flash Drive (old media) or Dropbox (new media) maintains the same objective, that is, to provide people
with alternate methods of storing data, Dropbox is becoming a standard way of accessing data with the use of the internet as a platform. This in turn,
benefits Dropbox users somewhat.
One benefit of transitioning from a USB Flash Drive to Dropbox is that Dropbox allows easy access to documents. "Dropping" files into Dropbox
essentially stores these files on the online cloud, where users can access their files anywhere and at any time as long as users have access to internet
connection. There are three methods in which Dropbox users can easily access their documents. The first is through the Dropbox website. Users could
simply sign–in and upload a document they would like to save or download an already saved file, make revisions to it, and upload the revised
document. Another way Dropbox allows easy access to documents is by linking a users' Dropbox account to their mobile device. This could

Occurrences Of Natural Disaster Or Man-Made Disaster
Final literature review
Introduction
Occurrences of natural disaster or man–made disaster have increased this last decade thus there is a constant need to provide humanitarian support to
population affected by such disasters. Means of communications are vital to manage rescues operation during down time. However, in worst case
scenario most of the infrastructures are getting damaged. Therefore, it is essential to restore communications within the disaster zone. This literature
review is divided in three main stages, which are the consequences of a natural disaster, the need of communication and the solutions available to
provide communication to the population.
Disaster consequences
The Centre for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters (CRED, 2009) defines a disaster as an unforeseen event that causes destruction and resulted
in a high number of civilian casualties, that overwhelms local capacity and request international assistance. Alexander (2014) agrees "An emergency is
defined as an exceptional event that exceeds the capacity of normal resources and organization to cope with it".
Impacts of disaster are usually measured by the cost of direct and indirect losses. What is meant by Indirect losses are losses of employment,
temporary unemployed resulting from business disruption caused by building collapsing (National Research Council U.S, 1989) thus the impact can
last for an indeterminate period of time (Alexander, 2014b) therefore the cost of Indirect losses caused by natural disasters are difficult to quantified.
Whereas direct losses encompass physical destruction, casualties, communication loss, transportation, and emergency response. (National Research
Council U.S, 1999). Munich Re (1989, cited in Hoeppe, 2016) states that cost of losses caused by natural disaster have extremely increased since 1950
mainly because of population growth and the complexity of infrastructures in modern societies.
The professor Rahman defines the complex relationship between infrastructures as infrastructures interdependencies where each node is known as a
Critical Infrastructures. According to Moteff and Parfomak (2004) a CI is a system that if disrupted can lead to serious issues on the wellbeing of
society.

An inexpensive solution was to use the web camera as a mouse alternative. [2]
Camera Mouse
By using the web camera the computer input devices (mouse and keyboard) could be replaced by the web camera to move the mouse pointer and a
virtual keyboard instead of the typical keyboard. [2]
The web camera will take video input of the user's head and it will send it to a face–detection system that will recognize the face features. After
recognizing the face features a tracking system will start moving the mouse pointer based on the movement of a body part of the user. [2]
There are four types of controlling the mouse pointer: one is by using the eye movement, the second is by using head movement, the third is by using
hand movement and the fourth is by using a laser that is mounted on the user head. [2]
Computer Vision
Computer Vision is a field that deals with describing the world that we see in the same way as any human can by using algorithms and methods that
can acquire, process, analyze and understand images. [3]
In computer vision we can track a human's movement, we can create a 3D model of an area using large number of photographs, face detection and
recognition and large number of other applications. [3]
Face Detection
For creating a camera mouse a developer needs to make a face–detection system that can recognize the face features. This system must be use minimal
computation time and achieve high detection

Computer Input Technologies By Alan Turing
Computer Input Technologies
Introduction The interaction between humans and the machine is a relatively new science. When considering how the inputs to a computer started out,
it is interesting to observe just how little has changed. For example, the QWERTY keyboard as part of the typewriter invented in the 1870s(2) far
predates the concept of the modern digital computer as described by Alan Turing in 1936(3). Our tools to interact with our own machines have
however been refined to be more convenient for the average user with interfaces such as optimised USB and layout studied for ergonomy. In recent
years, input technologies have not only been improved but brand new ones have emerged like motion control for example. The future is bright ... Show

Furthermore, trackballs are still quite common as scrollwheels in computer mouse devices. Interestingly, the invention of the computer ball mouse in
1968 sprang directly from the invention of the trackball. In a sense, the ball mouse is a "reversed" version of the same device. The trackball rolls on the
surface instead of the user's hands, however the tracking operates in the same way(1). This innovation in existing technology meant that the
handheld–type design would later be upgraded as newer technologies took its place. Today, the ball mouse has been largely replaced by the optical
and laser mouse. These types of mouse devices use LEDs to emit light onto the surface on which it sits, the reflected light is analysed by a set of
photodiodes. Whether the mouse is laser or not depends on if the LEDs emit coherent light (laser) or not (optical). The main drawback of the optical
mouse is that they only function on opaque and matte surfaces as they depend on the light reflecting the surfaces' imperfections. The precision however
is much improved from the ball mouse. Furthermore, less moving parts means more durability. The mouse really opened up the horizon for user
interface navigation making it a key turning point in the history of input technologies.

The universal serial bus is an adapter, flash drive, and a data storage device. It got first usage in 1996 but did not get widespread usage until
introduction of the iMac in 1998. The most recent version of the USB is 3.0 that has a higher data transfer rate and is backward compatible to
previous USB versions. The adapter allows for plugging into electronic devices with a USB port thereby providing additional capability and
connectivity. The USB flash drive provides additional storage and memory capability for a computer. Two most useful factors of the USB is the
smaller size (about 1.1 oz) and ability to plug right into a technology device (mobile computers). Almost all computers and mobile devices today

It is a communication method for bits traveling to the design location between input, memory, processors, and output devices. The bit also
represents the physical lines over which the data is sent. The bus helps to reduce the amount of "lanes" required for communication between the
components mentioned above. The bus does this by sending all communications over a single data channel. The speed at which the bus transmits
data is measured by frequency (hertz) in cycles based upon transmit and receive time per second. The bus is simply a local highway. Data and
address are two types of buses. The address bus provides a specific physical address and carries memory addresses needed for the processor to
access in order to read or write data. The data bus pass on the required data coming and going to the processor. There is also a control bus that carries
orders and synchronize signals from the control unit in route to the other hardware components. In other words, the control does the directing for

The first thing Ruth shows me is her computer. She is utilizing her computer as permanent storage for pertinent banking documents that she has
acquired over the years. She uses her computer to research new popular plant species to cultivate for the season and see what her competitors are
offering. Right away, I can tell that her computer is outdated. She even mentions that her computer is from the early 2000's. By technology standards,
her computer is ancient. She complains that her computer is slow and will often freeze. With a faster computer and updated software, she will be able
to expedite her normal tasks executed on the computer. She also mentions some issues with her keyboard and monitor that serve as peripheral devices

Machiavelli Ecclesiastical Principalities
Word count: 1,206 (with citations) The Prince is Machiavelli's guide for ruling and conquering states. Machiavelli elaborates on various ways to
acquire principalities and provides the reader with a straightforward guide on how to successfully conquer and maintain control over states.
Machiavelli analyses the strengths and flaws of certain paths to conquest, how to maintain a hold on power and the importance of strong arms.
Machiavelli sees humans as easily persuaded and simple minded. He believes that all people want to be controlled and guided and those who control
do so because their intellect is much greater than the average person. In chapter eleven, Ecclesiastical Principalities, Machiavelli elaborates on the

Imitating the work of a past ruler is also important because "If his own virtue does not reach that far, at least he will be in the odor of it". Pope
Jullius demonstrates this perfectly by continuing through Alexander VI footsteps and finding new ways to make the church great by means of
money and arms. Fear is another strength that sustains Ecclesiastical Principalities. Humans believe in God's practices because they fear what
would happen if they seized to believe. Moses invokes fear by brutally killing all who lost faith in him. Those who Moses spared remain thankful
that they were not harmed while those who were harmed stay weak and too scared to rebel. Machiavelli insinuates that all humans want to be
controlled and guided. When not under direct guidance, humans are fearful of their life outside the Ecclesiastical Principality. Fear was also used to
maintain dominance by Remirro. He placed a mangled corpse in the middle of town square which left the people astounded. In doing so, people fear
the Prince's brutality and therefore, obey him. This is seen in all types of principalities. Overall, Machiavelli's first impression of Ecclesiastical
Principalities is that they differ from the others because

Description And Description Of A Computer

on it to computer to communicate. This board contains the Northbridge and the Southbridge. The Northbridge controls the main communications on
the board between the ram, CPU and PCI–e. The Southbridge communicates with PCI, SATA and things like USB and audio. CPU The central
processing unit does all the calculations to process the data that is requested by the operating system. The CPU connects through a socket in the
motherboard and communicates with the Northbridge which communicates with the ram and the rest of the computer to produce the data for the
CPU. CacheThe cache is inside the CPU. Where the CPU uses it as very high speed storage where data is stored as it is processed this data is then
offloaded into the ram. The cache only communicates with the CPU as this is what gives it all its data and tells it what to store. RamRam
temporarily stores the data that is being processed by the CPU. This type of storage is very fast so the computer can work faster than using the data
directly from the HDD. However this is volatile memory so when power is lost everything in the ram is lost. The ram communicates with The CPU
and the rest of the motherboard via the Northbridge. It receives and stores data then sends the data when it is give a command to do so. Heat sinkThe

USB–C adapter and cable USB–C is found in the latest MacBook Pro, as well as Google's Pixel phone. Some are not excited about it, while others
understand the enormous potential. Wouldn't it be lovely to replace the thousands of ports and cables to just a single output? If you like portability and
convenience, you should definitely consider getting your hands on some proper USB–C adapters and cables in 2017. Aukey USB–C Hub VGA is a
great companion on the road. It can connect to a standard USB device when you have no other compatible port available. The VGA connection also
allows you to hook it up with older monitors and projectors, while charging the phone. There are also plenty of ports for hooking other USB–C
accessories to this lightweight adapter. Another good pick is the OWC USB–C Media Dock. With the dock, you'll be able to add a SD card readers, a
headphone port, Gigabit Ethernet, and HDMI pot and six type C USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports to your devices. You can find the dock from xxx and while it's

The three items that I would collect would be the external hard drive, the laptop, and the USB thumb drive. It's important to remember that you
"must use caution when collecting, packaging, or storing digital devices to avoid altering, damaging, or destroying the digital evidence. Avoid
using any tools or materials that may produce or emit static electricity or a magnetic field as these may damage or destroy the evidence" (Mukasey,
2008). The first item that I would collect as digital evidence would be the external hard drive. It may contain all types of evidence such as: files, logs,
pictures, recordings, or even video logs. Before collecting it as evidence I would take pictures of the hard drive, making sure to get the manufacturer
and serial numbers, and then document it. Once complete, I would seal it in an anti–static bag and label that as well. The second item that I would
collect would be the laptop. This could have all of the same type of information that the hard drive has and also may contain copies, pictures, or the
source code itself from "Product X." The laptop may show whether or not he was sharing files or trade secrets with outside sources, or even if he
were attempting to crack passwords so as to get into systems that weren't available to

The 180–degree, rear view camera placed behind the Skully AR–1 helmet previews true–to–life imaging of rear view panorama, covering blind spots
and providing motorcyclists full situational awareness of their surroundings. "Infinite Focus" focuses the heads up display (HUD) to the eyes instead of
floating around, potentially causing diversion. (Barnwell 2015)
Besides, the DOT/ECE certified helmet is equipped with a fog, scratch and glare resistant photochromic visor, which minimizes visual interference and
blocks most UV rays for eye protection. It has a quick release chin strap in purpose for emergency situations.

The Intel Edison, a remarkable CPU designed with capabilities to support wearable technology and regular day to day items. We choose the Intel
Edison because it fulfils certain criteria which will make our customers happy.
Its main feature is its size. At an astounding 35.5 x 25 x 3.9 mm, the Intel Edison is slightly bigger than your average size toenail. The AR–1 needs a
CPU to be small so that its weight cannot affect the comfort of the wearer. The compact size of the CPU creates the possibility for hardware upgrades.
Considering its size, it certainly does not slack behind other CPU's in the processing department. Considered to be in the Pentium class (Brown 2014),
the Intel Edison features a dual–core dual–threaded Intel Atom CPU at 500MHz and a 32–bit Intel Quark microcontroller at 100MHz. Sure it does not
sound like the fastest processor out there but let us have a closer look into its design.

Project 2 – Identifying Digital Evidence from Work Area

  • 1. CCJS321 Project 2 Essay Project 2 – Identifying and Collecting Digital Evidence CCJS 321 Digital Forensics University of Maryland University College July 18, 2015 Project 2 – Identifying and Collecting Digital Evidence 1. What permissions/authorities should you have before you search Mr. Yourprop's former Company work area, and how would you document that authority? Generally speaking, an employer can search an employee's desk or work area without expecting any legal repercussions. The desk is property of the employer, therefore the employee should not be entitled to a reasonable expectation of privacy in their work area (Privacy at Work: What Are Your Rights?, 2015). Even though this is generally the case, its best practice, by and large, to have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... USB Flash Drives are also sometimes used as encryption keys for encryption tools such as BitLocker Drive Encryption (Microsoft, 2015). To collect and transport as evidence, place the USB Flash Drive into a static shock protective bag (U.S. Dept of Homeland Security, U.S. Secret Service, 2007). Document any make, model, or serial number designations on the device. The hard drive on the desk would be a good third source of digital evidence to seize. Assuming this hard drive is used for additional storage (i.e. does not have an Operating System on it), it would contain data similar to that which would've been on the USB Flash Drive: documents, images, videos, and maybe even some software files. Documentation should be done on the make, model, serial number and type (e.g. SATA, IDE, SCSI) of hard drive. For transportation, again, place into a static shock protective bag. Remember to keep the hard drive away from anything magnetic as the platters that are inside the hard drive are magnetically charged (U.S. Department of Justice, 2008). 3. Look at the photo of Mr. Yourprop's work area provided for Project 2 in the Week 5 Overview area. Identify three (3) potential items of non –digital evidence you see in the photo. For EACH item of non–digital evidence you identified, explain what potential use that item would be to your investigation (e.g., what kind of evidence it is, and what type of data that item ... • 2. The Effects Of Viral Load On Hiv Essay On November 10, 2016, a new report was released to the public about a special type of microchip that can test the amount of viral load of HIV in less than 30 minutes. This test can be completely self administered. The user can check the viral load amount in the bloodstream by placing a drop of their blood on the microchip, which looks similar to that of a USB drive. This microchip is then inserted into a computer, tablet, or other handheld device. The results can be achieved in less than 30 minutes, and many users had an answer in about 21 minutes with 95% accuracy. The current method requires sending blood to a laboratory and can take at least three days, if not longer, to detect the viral load present. This microchip can help to monitor those patients who are receiving treatment, but do not have access to local clinics. Researchers hope that this device can specifically help in Sub–Saharan Africa and other rural areas which may not have easy access to testing facilities nearby (Imperial College London: 2016). This new microchip received a lot of publicity for a few major reasons. While it is not currently commercially available, it provided a "proof of concept" for a point–of–care method for the detection of the viral load of HIV present. This is the first report of an on–chip detection of RNA via microchip. While there are a few similar products that are close to market or in development, they all require lab equipment and a desktop instrument to find results, whereas ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Ankur Agrawal IIT Kanpur P age |4 Introduction Here is a small tutorial that suffices you with the basic concepts required to put up eyes on your robot. Trust me, if you are into robotics, you are going to enjoy the next few pages. After all, making "a robot that can see" would really be cool! So let's get started! A vision based robot has an image acquisition device like a webcam as its eyes. Then we need a processor that can make sense out of those captured images and actuators like dc motors for navigation. One key point to note is that Image Processing has huge computational requirements, and it is not possible to run an image processing code directly on a small microcontroller. Hence, for our purpose, the simplest approach would be to run the code on a computer, which has a webcam connected to it to take the images, and the robot is controlled by the computer via serial or parallel port. The code is written in a software that provides the tools for acquiring images, analyzing the content in the images and deriving conclusions. MATLAB is one of the many such software available which provide the platform for performing these tasks. MATLAB What does MATLAB stand for? MATLAB stands for MATrix ... The lack of credit cart encryption does not only lead to a major concern for the company, but also for the client. The risk of exposed PII invalidates any confidentiality for the company due to the threat posed to client credit card information. Because health care provider is a credit card merchant since they accept, transmit, or store credit card data, they must adhere to the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) to protect the customer's confidential data. One of the requirements is that merchants must encrypt transmission of cardholder data and sensitive information across public networks. (OWASP,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These proposals and systems suggestions can minimize the vulnerabilities associated with any compromises or intrusions within the network. Deploying an intrusion detection system is an essential security strategy for monitoring a network information system for abnormal or authorized activity. An intrusion detection system (IDS) is set of tools which monitor a network topology by providing a system administrator with the overall picture of how the system is being utilized. Executing an IDS will make a difference in creating a defense in depth architecture to be more compelling in recognizing any form of malicious activities. The capacity of the IDS is to monitor and survey the network traffic without affecting network activity. IDS tools gather information and analyzes it against a pre–characterized manage set, and against a set of known assault 'marks'. The IDS can scan port numbers and to determine if any breaches or attacks are occurring (Kuipers, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Fire Wire Advantages And Disadvantages Fire Wire is a standard high–performance cable, used to connect multiple devices together or to a computer. Fire Wire is also capable of very high speed communications and quick real–time data transfer. It is also called the 'IEEE 1394'. The number of pins on a Fire Wire cable can vary, it can either have 4,6 or 9 pins. The maximum voltage it can carry is 30 volts. The data exchange rates on a standard Fire Wire 400, also called the 'IEEE 1394a', can go as high as 400 mbps. However the new Fire Wire 800, also called the 'IEEE 1395b', has data transfer rates of up to 800 mbps. In the future the data exchange rates can go up to 1600 mbps and 3200+ mbps. A Fire Wire cable is very easy to use. It is a plug and play environment which means that the wire can be used as soon as it is plugged in, no need for system configuration. Using Fire Wire cable is as easy as plugging or unplugging a your computers power cord. There are quite a few benefits of Fire Wire. Fire Wire has faster data exchange rates (100 Mb/s) in comparison to USB 2.0(60 Mb/s). A Fire Wire port can easily be found on most laptops and computers. However there are som down sides to this. The data exchange rates are very slow in comparison to newer, more widely available connections like USB 3.0 ( 625 Mb/s) or Thunderbolt (1.25 Gb /s). The use of Fire Wire is becoming very limited, most new computers don't even feature them anymore like Mac's ( even though Apple made them). USB USB is the abbreviation for Universal ... The Invention Of Usb Flash Drive Or Usb Stick Driver The invention of USB flash drive or USB stick driver is based on PC connectors condition at that time, which is too much and very complicated. According to John Garger in his article Who Invented the USB Flash Drive?, USB mass storage devices were first developed by a group of computer companies including Intel, Compaq, Microsoft, Sony, DEC, IBM, and Northern Telecom. They want to make a special basic device connection protocol to standardize the PC connectors; this will facilitate data transfer and connection between devices. Universal Serial Bus or better known as USB was first introduced in late 1995 and released in January 1996. • 10. Usb Drives And Usb Drive Data Transfer CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1. INTRODUCTION Portability and mobility of storage devices like flash drives and USB devices are becoming so popular to carry and transport data on the go. Unlike CD/DVD, hard drive, floppy disk or tape drive, a flash memory has no moving parts, so it guarantees fast read/write speeds and more durable compared to other forms of storage media. Using a flash drive/memory card to transfer a file typically uses a computer (e.g. laptop, pc, netbook or tablet) to initialize mass storage communication which is not portable. Smartphone can exchange the data through Bluetooth but can't act as host to USB drive to USB drive communication for data transfer. The proposed system bridges the gap of USB drive to USB drive data transfer when a computer is not present. Because of low prices of Smartphone almost everybody use smartphone so even Smartphone can't act as host but it can acts as mediator and can be used as user interface to give operational command for data transfer. Moreover, booting a computer just to transfer a file/s is ridiculous. In an earlier research, an embedded system is used wherein a slave to slave flash drive transfer makes it possible to transfer file/s using a programmable microcontroller with USB multi–role embedded host/peripheral controller and navigation control. This makes it possible to transfer data from a flash drive to another flash drive with 100% data integrity using MD5 checksum algorithm. That research also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

ABSTRACT: The aim of this work is to develop an embedded system directed at automating appliances in an industry via Ethernet. Previously Anish NK , Kowshick B , S.Moorthi presented paper on "Ethernet based Industry Automation using FPGA" in year 2013 whereas GopinathS, BhanuprasadP, Harish, SindhuraG, Gautam R.P, Shivas.v.c,Sindhu.B,James.C presented paper on "Bluetooth Communication using touch screen interface with Raspberry Pi". Considering their results we have designed a system which employs server/client architecture; switching commands for the appliances which are connected to the client can be received and displayed at either end. The data containing information about the control commands are transferred between the end points of communication using Transmission Control Protocol (TCP). The remote host processes the commands received and translates them into actions of switching particular appliances ON or OFF. This type of control system gives the liberty for control of appliances from remote locations connected through Ethernet. A novel embedded system has been designed, implemented on Raspberry Pi and a small–scale prototype is developed and tested. According to Henry Jenkins, who studies media convergence, this "Convergence [where old and new media collide] represents a cultural shift as consumers are encouraged to seek out new information and make connections among dispersed media content" (Jenkins 457). It is through the help of convergence that old media has developed into the new media Americans see today. The convergence of methods of storing files is an example of this. Storing files online, is taking the old media, a USB Flash Drive, and converging it into a new digital ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dropbox is a cloud storage service; a business that overlooks a users' data and makes that data accessible online. Because Dropbox has introduced people to the idea of accessing wireless data, this reveals how this type of new media has changed the way that content is produced, distributed, and consumed. Although the use of either a USB Flash Drive (old media) or Dropbox (new media) maintains the same objective, that is, to provide people with alternate methods of storing data, Dropbox is becoming a standard way of accessing data with the use of the internet as a platform. This in turn, benefits Dropbox users somewhat. One benefit of transitioning from a USB Flash Drive to Dropbox is that Dropbox allows easy access to documents. "Dropping" files into Dropbox essentially stores these files on the online cloud, where users can access their files anywhere and at any time as long as users have access to internet connection. There are three methods in which Dropbox users can easily access their documents. The first is through the Dropbox website. Users could simply sign–in and upload a document they would like to save or download an already saved file, make revisions to it, and upload the revised document. Another way Dropbox allows easy access to documents is by linking a users' Dropbox account to their mobile device. This could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Occurrences Of Natural Disaster Or Man-Made Disaster Final literature review Introduction Occurrences of natural disaster or man–made disaster have increased this last decade thus there is a constant need to provide humanitarian support to population affected by such disasters. Means of communications are vital to manage rescues operation during down time. However, in worst case scenario most of the infrastructures are getting damaged. Therefore, it is essential to restore communications within the disaster zone. This literature review is divided in three main stages, which are the consequences of a natural disaster, the need of communication and the solutions available to provide communication to the population. Disaster consequences The Centre for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters (CRED, 2009) defines a disaster as an unforeseen event that causes destruction and resulted in a high number of civilian casualties, that overwhelms local capacity and request international assistance. Alexander (2014) agrees "An emergency is defined as an exceptional event that exceeds the capacity of normal resources and organization to cope with it". Impacts of disaster are usually measured by the cost of direct and indirect losses. What is meant by Indirect losses are losses of employment, temporary unemployed resulting from business disruption caused by building collapsing (National Research Council U.S, 1989) thus the impact can last for an indeterminate period of time (Alexander, 2014b) therefore the cost of Indirect losses caused by natural disasters are difficult to quantified. Whereas direct losses encompass physical destruction, casualties, communication loss, transportation, and emergency response. (National Research Council U.S, 1999). Munich Re (1989, cited in Hoeppe, 2016) states that cost of losses caused by natural disaster have extremely increased since 1950 mainly because of population growth and the complexity of infrastructures in modern societies. The professor Rahman defines the complex relationship between infrastructures as infrastructures interdependencies where each node is known as a Critical Infrastructures. According to Moteff and Parfomak (2004) a CI is a system that if disrupted can lead to serious issues on the wellbeing of society.

[2] Camera Mouse By using the web camera the computer input devices (mouse and keyboard) could be replaced by the web camera to move the mouse pointer and a virtual keyboard instead of the typical keyboard. [2] The web camera will take video input of the user's head and it will send it to a face–detection system that will recognize the face features. After recognizing the face features a tracking system will start moving the mouse pointer based on the movement of a body part of the user. [2] There are four types of controlling the mouse pointer: one is by using the eye movement, the second is by using head movement, the third is by using hand movement and the fourth is by using a laser that is mounted on the user head. [2] Computer Vision Computer Vision is a field that deals with describing the world that we see in the same way as any human can by using algorithms and methods that can acquire, process, analyze and understand images. • 33. Computer Input Technologies By Alan Turing Computer Input Technologies Introduction The interaction between humans and the machine is a relatively new science. When considering how the inputs to a computer started out, it is interesting to observe just how little has changed. For example, the QWERTY keyboard as part of the typewriter invented in the 1870s(2) far predates the concept of the modern digital computer as described by Alan Turing in 1936(3). Our tools to interact with our own machines have however been refined to be more convenient for the average user with interfaces such as optimised USB and layout studied for ergonomy. In recent years, input technologies have not only been improved but brand new ones have emerged like motion control for example. The future is bright ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, trackballs are still quite common as scrollwheels in computer mouse devices. Interestingly, the invention of the computer ball mouse in 1968 sprang directly from the invention of the trackball. In a sense, the ball mouse is a "reversed" version of the same device. The trackball rolls on the surface instead of the user's hands, however the tracking operates in the same way(1). This innovation in existing technology meant that the handheld–type design would later be upgraded as newer technologies took its place. Today, the ball mouse has been largely replaced by the optical and laser mouse. These types of mouse devices use LEDs to emit light onto the surface on which it sits, the reflected light is analysed by a set of photodiodes. Whether the mouse is laser or not depends on if the LEDs emit coherent light (laser) or not (optical). The main drawback of the optical mouse is that they only function on opaque and matte surfaces as they depend on the light reflecting the surfaces' imperfections. The precision however is much improved from the ball mouse. Furthermore, less moving parts means more durability. The mouse really opened up the horizon for user interface navigation making it a key turning point in the history of input technologies. The adapter allows for plugging into electronic devices with a USB port thereby providing additional capability and connectivity. The USB flash drive provides additional storage and memory capability for a computer. Two most useful factors of the USB is the smaller size (about 1.1 oz) and ability to plug right into a technology device (mobile computers). The speed at which the bus transmits data is measured by frequency (hertz) in cycles based upon transmit and receive time per second. The bus is simply a local highway. Data and address are two types of buses. The address bus provides a specific physical address and carries memory addresses needed for the processor to access in order to read or write data. Machiavelli analyses the strengths and flaws of certain paths to conquest, how to maintain a hold on power and the importance of strong arms. Imitating the work of a past ruler is also important because "If his own virtue does not reach that far, at least he will be in the odor of it". Pope Jullius demonstrates this perfectly by continuing through Alexander VI footsteps and finding new ways to make the church great by means of money and arms. Fear is another strength that sustains Ecclesiastical Principalities. Humans believe in God's practices because they fear what would happen if they seized to believe. Moses invokes fear by brutally killing all who lost faith in him. Those who Moses spared remain thankful that they were not harmed while those who were harmed stay weak and too scared to rebel. Machiavelli insinuates that all humans want to be controlled and guided. When not under direct guidance, humans are fearful of their life outside the Ecclesiastical Principality. Fear was also used to maintain dominance by Remirro. He placed a mangled corpse in the middle of town square which left the people astounded. In doing so, people fear the Prince's brutality and therefore, obey him. This is seen in all types of principalities. Description And Description Of A Computer NamePictureUseCommunicating MotherboardAll of the main components in a computer connect to the motherboard the board allows all the things on it to computer to communicate. This board contains the Northbridge and the Southbridge. The Northbridge controls the main communications on the board between the ram, CPU and PCI–e. The Southbridge communicates with PCI, SATA and things like USB and audio. CPU The central processing unit does all the calculations to process the data that is requested by the operating system. The CPU connects through a socket in the motherboard and communicates with the Northbridge which communicates with the ram and the rest of the computer to produce the data for the CPU. CacheThe cache is inside the CPU. Where the CPU uses it as very high speed storage where data is stored as it is processed this data is then offloaded into the ram. The cache only communicates with the CPU as this is what gives it all its data and tells it what to store. RamRam temporarily stores the data that is being processed by the CPU. This type of storage is very fast so the computer can work faster than using the data directly from the HDD. However this is volatile memory so when power is lost everything in the ram is lost. The ram communicates with The CPU and the rest of the motherboard via the Northbridge. It receives and stores data then sends the data when it is give a command to do so.
