2. Preliminary Task:
October 5th - November 16th (2014)
My preliminary task was the one I started
first. The aim of this task was to create a
magazine that was suitable to school
goers, who want information about what
was happening, what had happened
and what will happen in their school.
This task was the easiest to create as it
was meant to be a simple magazine,
read only
3. Log Book:
November 23rd - December 14th
(2014)
The log book is the research into similar
existing media products, the publisher of
my magazine of inspiration. This was
made so that I can log everything I know
about my media product, the target
audience, genre and how I plan on
making my media product.
4. Main Task:
January 12th - March 6th (2015)
The main task was all about creating a music magazine of
my favorite genre or a genre everyone one likes so that
there would be larger group of target audience. I choose
the alternative rock genre which had a long age span of
target audience, where mine was from age 16-27.
At this point in my coursework I was able to use Photoshop’s
many different tools to my advantage as, I had more
knowledge of how to use Photoshop faster and more
efficiently because of the school magazine’s: Front Cover
and Contents page I had created (preliminary task).
Though it took me about 2-3 weeks of school hours to finish
the front cover as it helped me think forward and helped
me visualize what I wanted my contents page and double
page spread to look like.
5. Audience Feedback:
March 9th - March 12th (2015)
Audience feedback was quite simple as it
required me to ask questions about my music
magazine.
I have 4 recording, 3 of which are audio and
the other a video, I did this because I wanted
to diversify the recordings so it did not seem
boring…
Though I changed some aspects of the music
magazine that my target audience had
asked me change so that it better suited
them.
6. Evaluation: March:
13th - March 19th (2015)
Finally the evaluation was an explanation to how I
have made my magazine and where I got my
inspirations from. This was done after finishing all 3
pages of my media product.
The evaluation asked 7 questions which were:
In what ways does your Media product use, develop or challenge forms
and conventions of real media products?
How does your media product represent particular social groups?
What kind of media institution (Publisher) might distribute your media
product and why?
Who would be the audience for your media product and why?
How did you attract/address your audience?
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
Looking back at your Preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt
in the progression from it to the full product?
