Carrie Underwood As A Role Model
I would have to say my role model would be Carrie Underwood. Carrie Underwood cares about the
world and the people in it. She has 26 charities so far. It's just so inspiring how she gives back to the
world. To boost her singing career, she went to American Idol and won it that is when she started to
write her own songs. From there, she went up. She loves dogs and any type of animal. Back when I
was little, I used to be afraid of any type of animal, then I saw animals for the better thanks to her.
Her, biggest thing is to not let other people bring you down and to do what you like best. She is a
country girl, and she could care less to get dirty. I love to go outside and run around in the mud
while listening to her country music.

Is Body Image Insecurity?
Body image insecurity is an issue that a large majority of females in our world face on a daily basis.
Celebrities have been idealized by the media to a point of unreachable standards, not always by their
own desire. Modifications and enhancements are made to nearly all published photos, making the
perfect body type one that does not truly exist in the real world. Because of today's technological
advances, celebrity news is never more than a smart phone click away. This constant availability has
enabled females to compare and analyze their own bodies more than ever before. Individuals ideal
self–image seems to have grown farther and farther from their actual self–image, presumably due to
the "perfect body" stereotype that is projected to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This sort of discrepancy causes feelings of different uncomfortable emotions, depending on the type
of self that is being analyzed (Higgins, 1987). Higgins study found that the greater the discrepancy
between a participant's ideal and actual self, the greater dejecting emotions they feel. Contrary, the
greater discrepancy felt between individual's ought self and their actual self, the more agitation
related emotion they feel. People's emotions span a wide range when they discover that the self they
had imagined themselves to be, is not directly in line with the self they actual are. Too often that
discrepancy lies within a person's body image, causing feelings of discomfort that often lead to
mental and physical health disorders. In order to compensate for something as drastic as body shape,
at least perceived body shape, unhealthy and even life–threatening disorders take hold of
individuals.
Body Image
Although the perfect body type is different for every gender, culture, and race, thinness is the most
widely desired type in the U.S. Females today are faced with a more difficult challenge than ever
before, the challenge of conforming their bodies to those of the 'accepted' shape and size. Body
image includes the categories of shape, weight, and general appearance. For females specifically,
puberty, pregnancy, and everything in between, causes their bodies to change drastically and often.
For that reason, maintaining a constant level is nearly an impossible task, yet

Carrie Underwood Character
When I think of a role model in my life who demonstrates good character traits in his or her actions
and behaviors, I immediately think of country singer songwriter, Carrie Underwood. Carrie exhibits
trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, compassion, citizenship, and many other admirable
character traits. "Carrie Underwood is the type of woman all parents want their children to grow up
and be like," (Hannaford). Carrie Underwood stands out in the sense that she doesn't rely so much
on her outward appearance, but rather on the way she carries herself in the public eye. When you
look at the media nowadays, it seems as if all female celebrities have resorted to acting crazy,
dressing provocatively, and behaving crudely; however, this is not the case with Carrie. Carrie does
not conform to these ways in order to gain herself some attention in the media. Carrie, unlike most
celebrities today, actually understands that any publicity isn't necessarily always good publicity. I
can think of many more reasons as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
"On her recent Blown Away tour, Carrie felt sick but still performed in Iowa. However, at the end of
her performance, she decided she hadn't given enough and didn't feel worthy of the paycheck. She
recycled every penny made from that performance back into the community as an apology for not
being able to give her usual 110 percent," (Hannaford). Carrie is also extremely good at prioritizing
her life. Carrie and her husband, Mike Fisher, are a strong and steady support system for one
another. They share a truly inspirational relationship. "They just welcomed a beautiful, little boy to
their family in March, and Carrie is beaming with pride over her little bundle of joy!" All of this
goes to show that not only is Carrie Underwood an insanely talented singer and performer, she is an

Carrie Underwood Social Responsibility
Carrie Underwood is an successful singer, songwriter and actress. She has inspired millions with her
work. She has donated to many services and she is really passionate about others donating with her.
" Successful people have an social responsibility to make the world a better place and not just take
from it." First of all, Carrie Underwood is wanting people to have responsibility to make the
environment and our world somewhere where everybody wants to live in and not to take advantage
of what we have on our planet and also have responsibility for what actions we have and do. "
Sometimes love slips away and you just can't get it back." Clearly, she telling people that sometimes

that we have for them that when it's time for them to leave because of their reasons, we just can't ...

"Everyday is a new day, and you'll never be able to find happiness if we don't move on." First,
Carrie underwood wants others to live everyday as if it's the last thing we will ever do. What she is
trying to say is that we can't live in sorrow and in grief because of something painful. Instead, move
on from the pain that has been caused and be happy for the way life is. " We have to hurt in order to
know, fall in order to grow, lose in order to gain. Because most of life's lessons are learned in pain."
Next, Carrie underwood is saying that in order to do the things we love we have to fall down and
make mistakes because those are the things in life that help us achieve our goals. "People these days
gain attention by losing respect." Finally, Carrie Underwood is saying by getting attention and not
the good kind, we earn that attention because we have lost our respect, others respect and most
importantly, the maturity that we have. We should do the things we love but also be

How Has American Idol Impacted My Life
How many people can look back and identify with an event that would leave a lasting impacted their
life? Everyone has had a significant event occur that has impacted his or her life in some way. Most
people present a memorable event that is very near to them, and how it had a great impact on their
lives. Many characteristics of my life has shaped my character and how I live my life. There were
three major events that occurred in my lifetime that had a great impact on my life: Moving to Japan,
American Idol, and having a grandfather that was a preacher.
Growing up I had a pretty normal childhood, that is if you count living in Japan as normal. Growing
up my dad was the Air Force, and in 2003 he got stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Not only did my
father move, but my mom, sister, and I tagged along. I was 4 years old, and I spent three and a half
years of my childhood ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The show inspired everyday people to go out and pursue their dream. Growing up I was always

American Idol was the highlight of my Wednesday and Thursday nights. Because my family and I
were living in Japan, we had a limited number of channels that we could watch. My family and I
generally watched whatever was available, and that was American Idol. The show was a tradition in
our family, we hardly missed an episode. Not only was American Idol funny, but it showed me that a
person does not have to be a "Movie Star" to sing. "Based on the excitement generated by that first
season of "American Idol," amateurs were soon dotting the television landscape seeking fame and
fortune." (France 2). It was not until the fourth season of American Idol when Carrie Underwood
won, that I realized how much music mattered to me. American Idol influenced my love for music

The Live Performance Of Dolly Parton's Just Because I 'm A...
Dolly represents the social inequality that was a main problem during this era.
The live performance of Dolly Parton's "Just Because I'm A Woman," shows artist sound,
performance, and clothing for the traditional era. The sound of her song started softly and the pitch
increased as it reached the chorus. Dolly Parton showed much more emotion and energy than
Tammy Wynette portrayed in her song. In addition, Dolly Parton dressed conservatively wearing a
dressy church dress as she performed. Parton, a traditional artist, represented the traditional era with
her conservative clothing; however, she went against the norm when she began questioning gender
roles.
There is a shift from traditional to more modern country music. Modern artist Carrie Underwood
shows a significant shift from traditional to modern country music in her 2005 song, "Before He
Cheats." Although there is not complete feminism inserted into her song, being a liberated woman is
feminist. For example, Underwood reaps the benefits of the sexual revolution and the feminist
movement without her music being feminist. This change in modern country music causes the lyric
content, sound, stage performance, and artist clothing to also change from the traditional artists. The
"Before He Cheats" lyrics below will show a change in the lyric content and sound:
"Right now he 's probably slow dancing with a bleached–blond tramp,
And she 's probably getting frisky...
...And he don 't know
That I dug my key into the side

Analysis of Two of Carrie Underwood¨s Songs: Before He...
Did you know that Carrie Underwood earned college credit from being on American Idol? She is an
American country singer, songwriter, and actress. She rose to fame as the winner of the fourth
season of American Idol in 2005. Underwood has since become a multiplatinum selling recording
artist, a winner of six Grammy awards, sixteen Billboard Music Awards, seven American Music
Awards and ten Academy of Country Music Awards, among several others. There are two songs that
she has that have caused me to fall in–love with her music; "Just A Dream" and "Before He Cheats."
There are ways to show how these are similar and different by using several aspects such as; the
emotion, the type of love, and the events of the song.
`
Every song can make one feel the emotion of the song. Depending on the song whether it is "Before
He Cheats" or "Just A Dream" will show different emotions. In the song "Before He Cheats," "I took
a Louisville Slugger to both headlights, a hole in all 4 tires... Maybe next time he'll think before he
cheats." This emotion you can say is anger, she is also heartbroken but past the crying and sad part
of it but to the point of anger and hatred. This song can really get you pumped up and hating all the
cheaters in the world. In the song "Just A Dream" her emotion starts out somewhat happy, "It was
two weeks after the day she turned eighteen, All dressed in white, Going to the church that night,

Logos And Ethos In Carrie Underwood's Blown Away
"Blown Away" by Carrie Underwood shows many examples of pathos, ethos, and logos in the song.
The emotions within the song are very heart wrenching and dark and the sound of the song is
portrayed this way. The sound of the song is very dark and intense with a fast loud beat throughout
which correlates to the lyrics and the video of the song as well. Carrie Underwood establishes her
credibility by being who she is as a country singer and has been for the past ten years. She also
shows logos in her song by telling the state in which it is happening which she repeatedly said was
Oklahoma. "Blown Away" is written to people who have experienced similar circumstances with
violence in their life at home and for people to hear about a story. The music ... Show more content

The song tells of an emotional breakup and the emotions shown in the song are sadness and anger.
After the breakup, she emotionally was torn apart and continuously will want him. Miley Cyrus
shows credibility by being who she is as a much known singer. The sound of the song automatically
starts with high and fast beats which sets the intense scene for the song. By the middle of the song,
the sound drops to a much slower beat but then back up for the final chorus. "Wrecking Ball" was
written to the guy who caused her to feel the way she did. In the first line of the song, she uses the
words "clawed" and "chained" which are not normal words used for people in a relationship. She
then says she fell under his "spell" meaning that she was into the relationship more of then him. She
also relate the death of their relationship to "we're ashes in the ground." Within the entire song when
she sung the word "wreck," it was emphasized and had a longer beat. The last two lines of
"Wrecking Ball" was "yeah, you, you wreck me," repeated twice also for emphasis. The music video
begins the song zoomed into Miley Cyrus' face almost like looking into her and her feelings. By the
second chorus and the increased beat she begins swinging on a ball, creating a visual of her feelings
and her literally coming in like a wrecking ball and breaking his

My First Vacation Destination
In the summer of 2016 my family and I took a 2 week vacation to a couple different locations we all
wanted to visit. We decided to drive to our first destination, which was a 13 hour drive! On the way

were able to eat some dinner while we were at the hotel and we ordered the most incomparable
pizza ever! The pizza place's' name was "Joe's Pizza" The owner's name is Joe and has multiple

or her first five albums all reaching first or second on the Billboard 200 chart. When she released
Storyteller in 2015, I had nothing but high expectations from this magnificent vocalist. In the
Storyteller album, Underwood shows her passion for her life through her songs. She does this with
catchy beats and memorable lyrics that share her stories to listeners through her music and does so
very successfully.
The album Storyteller is performed by country artist Carrie Underwood and was released on
October 23, 2015. Mark Bright, Zach Crowell, and Jay Joyce produced this album. This album has
thirteen songs and is approximately 46 minutes long. Storyteller's target audience would be mostly
young adults and older teens but can be enjoyable for many others including all country music fans.
Underwood's Storyteller is generally positively reviewed and has been nominated for country album
of the year. This is definitely an album to remember.

Homecoming Warrior-Personal Narrative
Ten years ago, on June 6, 2006, what seemed to be a regular day turned out to be the worst day of
my life. It was my dad's birthday, and my family planned to go to a family friend's house to eat. If I
knew then what I knew now, I would have talked my dad out of going because it was the day my life
changed.
We got ready and headed out to their house. When we came into the house, I remember the house
had a strong dog stench, and there was dog hair everywhere. There were so many people when we
got there; it was like a family reunion. We greeted everyone, and then headed inside. Everyone sat
around and waited for the food to be finished. After thirty minutes, we finally started to eat. I

Carrie Underwood's Beliefs
Faith, baptism, and worship are just a few words that embody Carrie Underwood's lifestyle and
beliefs. Underwood grew up in small town Checotah, Oklahoma where her passion for singing
began in her church choir. From there her talent and fame only escalated. She came into the public's
eye in 2004 when she auditioned and later won season 4 of American Idol– earning her college
credit towards a Mass Communications degree that she graduated with shortly after her win ("Carrie

Underwood wrote the song along with Chris DeStefano and Brett James. The water in this song
refers to the water of baptism and when it comes to "water," Underwood immerses herself in a
redemptive story–song, which tells of her decision to turn to God for guidance in the first place. She
recalls being dunked in her small hometown church and how proud she was the day she was
baptized (Scott "Carrie Underwood"). The song finds Underwood revisiting the turning to God of
her hit single "Jesus, Take The Wheel." In this instance she is singing about water baptism. At the
end of her song she also includes the classic hymn "Amazing Grace." By doing this Underwood
examines her placement as a mainstream trendsetter and potential Christian–country crossover star
(Scott "Carrie Underwood"). Though we have learned Underwood is clearly no stranger to singing
about her beliefs, she said in a past interview she has come under criticism for working on such
songs as "Something In The Water" and "Jesus, Take The Wheel" (Koonse "Carrie Underwood").
That hasn't held her back though; Underwood tells us that country music is different in a way that
there is a "Bible Belt–ness" about it. That certainly seems to be the truth as she manages to create
remarkable one–of–a–kind hits while incorporating her most valued

Kindred Epilogue Rewrite As I ripped by arm from its plaster prison, I began to feel that strangely
familiar sensation, the dizziness. No, it must have been from the pain. I must be delusional. I
couldn't be going back. It wasn't possible. Rufus was dead. He was dead! I had seen him die with
my own two eyes. I had killed him with my own two hands. I couldn't be going back! He was dead!
I came to and looked around at the eerily familiar landscape, but something was missing. The house.
It was gone. I slowly walked towards the plantation that I had visited so many times before, and as I
grew closer and closer, I saw something peculiar. What was a rock doing in the middle of an empty

Poor, sweet Carrie had predicted this. Why hadn't I listened? A single tear streamed down Carrie's

bright red blood was running down his back. Not only was he injured, but he was also handcuffed.
No. Was he being charged for the murder of Rufus? He couldn't be, this was my fault. I had to do
something. I began to take a step, and as my foot hit the ground, I heard the snap of a branch, and
Joe fell into my arms. He seemed to have fallen from the tree, and I immediately realized that it had
been Joe who previously asked about my arm. "Joe, what are you doing here?" "Nothin'. I'm just
watchin'. What's goin' on Dana?" he answered calmly. "Everything's fine Joe," I replied through
tears, "Maybe you should go back inside." "Why are you lying to me? If everything was fine, you
wouldn't be crying." If I offered to walk him back to his house, he might be willing to go inside.
"Let's go Joe," I muttered as I took his hand. I began to walk towards the front door, when I heard a
shout. "Hey! We missed one. Where do you think you're goin'? Get back here!" I hadn't thought this
through. I should've stayed hidden. I ran and ran until I clumsily tripped over the branch that had
fallen from the tree. I fell to the ground, and my vision became blurry. I was going home. My
eyelids fluttered open, and I stared into Kevin's beautiful, pale eyes. "How long was I gone this

Fathers are viewed as the head of the household and the glue that holds the family together. For this
reason, as young girls grow up, they look to their fathers for stability and comfort. In the song, the
father was the complete opposite of everything good. He failed the young girl by tearing her down
and making her life miserable. In "Blown Away", the authors Josh Kear and Chris Tompkins use
symbolism and imagery to show the difficulties the girl face as a child and how she finds hope for a
better future.
One device the authors use to portray hope is symbolism. The first way the song exhibits symbolism
is through the tornado and the destruction is causes. Carrie Underwood sings, "The weather man
called for a twister / she pray it blow down" (lines 5–6). These lines show that she wants the tornado
to come down towards her. It represents the destruction her father has brought her life, but also the
hope she has that it will be good for her future. She realizes that while the tornado might destroy
everything she owns and knows about her childhood, it will also set her free from her father and the
darkness that is bringing her down. Her life is like the storm. Before a storm comes it is dark and
dreary outside, much like her life now. After a storm passes the skies clear and a rainbow appears,
this is what her life will be like after the tornado passes. The storm takes away all the bad in her life
and leaves her with an open path to a brighter future. The second way the authors

Technology and The American Dream
The idea that no matter where you start in life you have opportunity to work hard and gain
prosperity and success, is also known as the American Dream. Which nowadays seems to be an
almost dying if not already totally dead concept. Something seen only in fairy tales and movies and
not really so much in real life. In these days and times it seems as though it does not matter how
hard you work, but rather the people you know, that decide whether you will have the opportunity to
be successful or not. But if you are just an everyday person how exactly are you supposed to go
about making those connections with people that really matter? The ones that can really help you? It

For a very long time, I took what I had for granted. I thought everything and everyone I loved in my

A Whole New World Music Analysis
Music has a great influence over people's life and can help them get through many obstacles that
may occur in their life, whether it be something really happy or a tragedy that may have happened.
There are many different genres that shows how I may have felt or hard moments I had to deal with
throughout my childhood. The genres can range from country, pop, or even in between. Throughout
my life each of these songs have reflected the moments that had lead me to tears and that have lead
me to freedom and joy.
Whenever I came into this world everything was new; everything I seen was a new experience,
possibility, and exciting adventure. When I was 5 years old everywhere I turned seemed to be
something new that I had never discovered before. I could let my mind run wild and some of the
smallest of things could be super big, like the sand box being the Sahara Desert! When watching the
movie "Aladdin" the song "A whole New World" brings back memories on how everything was new
and exciting whenever I was five. The song states, "A whole new world" multiple times which
expresses how when I was five no matter where I went there was always something new around the
corner (Rice). Whenever I was 5 my imagination could take me anywhere I wanted to go. I

When I first heard this song, it kind of reminded me of her previous song 'Gunpowder and Lead'.
She has that sass and toughness in both songs. When I hear this song I believe she is trying to
portray how times have changed. For example she states "My momma came from a softer
generation/ Where you get a grip and bite your lip just to save a little face." I believe she is telling us
how maybe back in the day you may have had to hide your crazy but times have changed. In her
chorus she also says "Run and hide your crazy and start actin' like a lady/ Cause I raised you better,
gotta keep it together/ Even when you fall apart." This to me makes me feel like society holds
women up to a higher standard, where we always have to act like ladies and be ok. I feel as if we
cannot show our emotions because we have to live up to that standard of society. We always need to
act like ladies and be ladylike, when in reality there are times we want to go crazy. It is normal
human behavior, yet we are shamed if we show it because we get hit with the "that is not ladylike"
speech. Another verse that stuck out to me was 'This aint my momma's broken

Country Music Problems
During the 1920's, people have argued this to be known as the "Roaring 20's" because of all the new
trends that were created in different areas of culture. One of the biggest reasons for this were the
birth of new music genres such as "Country". People do love country music because of the
meanings behind every lyric of each song, but in reality country music has brought more problems
than happiness to society. Some of the reasons why country music has brought a lot of issues to
society are due to its horrible sound, the nonsense from the lyrics, and the use of weird instruments
such as an autoharp and a banjo. As a result of this combination, the percentage of suicide from all
ages has increased ever since country music was introduced. Suicide ratings have been scaring
scientists all over the world, they believe that people who listen to country music go through 5
different stages that will lead them to their death. This is the biggest problem that country music has
caused throughout the course of its history. Not only has it scared the population of big nations, but
it has also scarred scientists because they have estimated that humanity could become extinct in the
next 30 years. Ever since country music was introduced to society, the percentage of suicide has
increased every year by 3% worldwide. In countries such as Germany, Honduras, Uzbekistan and a
few others have banned country music because it has drastically decreased their population by 25%.

Carrie Underwood As A Role Model

  • 1. Carrie Underwood As A Role Model I would have to say my role model would be Carrie Underwood. Carrie Underwood cares about the world and the people in it. She has 26 charities so far. It's just so inspiring how she gives back to the world. To boost her singing career, she went to American Idol and won it that is when she started to write her own songs. From there, she went up. She loves dogs and any type of animal. Back when I was little, I used to be afraid of any type of animal, then I saw animals for the better thanks to her. Her, biggest thing is to not let other people bring you down and to do what you like best. She is a country girl, and she could care less to get dirty. I love to go outside and run around in the mud while listening to her country music. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Is Body Image Insecurity? Body image insecurity is an issue that a large majority of females in our world face on a daily basis. Celebrities have been idealized by the media to a point of unreachable standards, not always by their own desire. Modifications and enhancements are made to nearly all published photos, making the perfect body type one that does not truly exist in the real world. Because of today's technological advances, celebrity news is never more than a smart phone click away. This constant availability has enabled females to compare and analyze their own bodies more than ever before. Individuals ideal self–image seems to have grown farther and farther from their actual self–image, presumably due to the "perfect body" stereotype that is projected to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This sort of discrepancy causes feelings of different uncomfortable emotions, depending on the type of self that is being analyzed (Higgins, 1987). Higgins study found that the greater the discrepancy between a participant's ideal and actual self, the greater dejecting emotions they feel. Contrary, the greater discrepancy felt between individual's ought self and their actual self, the more agitation related emotion they feel. People's emotions span a wide range when they discover that the self they had imagined themselves to be, is not directly in line with the self they actual are. Too often that discrepancy lies within a person's body image, causing feelings of discomfort that often lead to mental and physical health disorders. In order to compensate for something as drastic as body shape, at least perceived body shape, unhealthy and even life–threatening disorders take hold of individuals. Body Image Although the perfect body type is different for every gender, culture, and race, thinness is the most widely desired type in the U.S. Females today are faced with a more difficult challenge than ever before, the challenge of conforming their bodies to those of the 'accepted' shape and size. Body image includes the categories of shape, weight, and general appearance. For females specifically, puberty, pregnancy, and everything in between, causes their bodies to change drastically and often. • 7. Carrie Underwood Character When I think of a role model in my life who demonstrates good character traits in his or her actions and behaviors, I immediately think of country singer songwriter, Carrie Underwood. Carrie exhibits trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, compassion, citizenship, and many other admirable character traits. "Carrie Underwood is the type of woman all parents want their children to grow up and be like," (Hannaford). Carrie Underwood stands out in the sense that she doesn't rely so much on her outward appearance, but rather on the way she carries herself in the public eye. When you look at the media nowadays, it seems as if all female celebrities have resorted to acting crazy, dressing provocatively, and behaving crudely; however, this is not the case with Carrie. Carrie does not conform to these ways in order to gain herself some attention in the media. Carrie, unlike most celebrities today, actually understands that any publicity isn't necessarily always good publicity. I can think of many more reasons as ... However, at the end of her performance, she decided she hadn't given enough and didn't feel worthy of the paycheck. She recycled every penny made from that performance back into the community as an apology for not being able to give her usual 110 percent," (Hannaford). Carrie is also extremely good at prioritizing her life. Carrie and her husband, Mike Fisher, are a strong and steady support system for one another. They share a truly inspirational relationship. "They just welcomed a beautiful, little boy to their family in March, and Carrie is beaming with pride over her little bundle of joy!" • 15. How Has American Idol Impacted My Life How many people can look back and identify with an event that would leave a lasting impacted their life? Everyone has had a significant event occur that has impacted his or her life in some way. Most people present a memorable event that is very near to them, and how it had a great impact on their lives. Many characteristics of my life has shaped my character and how I live my life. There were three major events that occurred in my lifetime that had a great impact on my life: Moving to Japan, American Idol, and having a grandfather that was a preacher. Growing up I had a pretty normal childhood, that is if you count living in Japan as normal. Growing up my dad was the Air Force, and in 2003 he got stationed in Okinawa, Japan. My family and I generally watched whatever was available, and that was American Idol. The show was a tradition in our family, we hardly missed an episode. Not only was American Idol funny, but it showed me that a person does not have to be a "Movie Star" to sing. • 17. The Live Performance Of Dolly Parton's Just Because I 'm A... Dolly represents the social inequality that was a main problem during this era. The live performance of Dolly Parton's "Just Because I'm A Woman," shows artist sound, performance, and clothing for the traditional era. The sound of her song started softly and the pitch increased as it reached the chorus. Dolly Parton showed much more emotion and energy than Tammy Wynette portrayed in her song. In addition, Dolly Parton dressed conservatively wearing a dressy church dress as she performed. Parton, a traditional artist, represented the traditional era with her conservative clothing; however, she went against the norm when she began questioning gender roles. There is a shift from traditional to more modern country music. Modern artist Carrie Underwood shows a significant shift from traditional to modern country music in her 2005 song, "Before He Cheats." Although there is not complete feminism inserted into her song, being a liberated woman is feminist. For example, Underwood reaps the benefits of the sexual revolution and the feminist movement without her music being feminist. This change in modern country music causes the lyric content, sound, stage performance, and artist clothing to also change from the traditional artists. The "Before He Cheats" lyrics below will show a change in the lyric content and sound: "Right now he 's probably slow dancing with a bleached–blond tramp, And she 's probably getting frisky... ...And he don 't know That I dug my key into the side Of ... • 19. Analysis of Two of Carrie Underwood¨s Songs: Before He... Did you know that Carrie Underwood earned college credit from being on American Idol? She is an American country singer, songwriter, and actress. She rose to fame as the winner of the fourth season of American Idol in 2005. Underwood has since become a multiplatinum selling recording artist, a winner of six Grammy awards, sixteen Billboard Music Awards, seven American Music Awards and ten Academy of Country Music Awards, among several others. There are two songs that she has that have caused me to fall in–love with her music; "Just A Dream" and "Before He Cheats." There are ways to show how these are similar and different by using several aspects such as; the emotion, the type of love, and the events of the song. ` Every song can make one feel the emotion of the song. Depending on the song whether it is "Before He Cheats" or "Just A Dream" will show different emotions. In the song "Before He Cheats," "I took a Louisville Slugger to both headlights, a hole in all 4 tires... Maybe next time he'll think before he cheats." This emotion you can say is anger, she is also heartbroken but past the crying and sad part of it but to the point of anger and hatred. This song can really get you pumped up and hating all the cheaters in the world. In the song "Just A Dream" her emotion starts out somewhat happy, "It was two weeks after the day she turned eighteen, All dressed in white, Going to the church that night, She had his box of letters in the passenger seat, Sixpence in a shoe, ... • 21. Logos And Ethos In Carrie Underwood's Blown Away "Blown Away" by Carrie Underwood shows many examples of pathos, ethos, and logos in the song. The emotions within the song are very heart wrenching and dark and the sound of the song is portrayed this way. The sound of the song is very dark and intense with a fast loud beat throughout which correlates to the lyrics and the video of the song as well. Carrie Underwood establishes her credibility by being who she is as a country singer and has been for the past ten years. She also shows logos in her song by telling the state in which it is happening which she repeatedly said was Oklahoma. "Blown Away" is written to people who have experienced similar circumstances with violence in their life at home and for people to hear about a story. The music ... The sound of the song automatically starts with high and fast beats which sets the intense scene for the song. By the middle of the song, the sound drops to a much slower beat but then back up for the final chorus. "Wrecking Ball" was written to the guy who caused her to feel the way she did. In the first line of the song, she uses the words "clawed" and "chained" which are not normal words used for people in a relationship. She then says she fell under his "spell" meaning that she was into the relationship more of then him. She also relate the death of their relationship to "we're ashes in the ground." Within the entire song when she sung the word "wreck," it was emphasized and had a longer beat. The last two lines of "Wrecking Ball" was "yeah, you, you wreck me," repeated twice also for emphasis. There's nothing worse then someone who is just stuck in a rut of what they call their own life, and doesn't know how to get the hell up out of their funk, grow a pair, and just move on! Listen to Sleeper Agents album About Last Night, and trust me, you'll feel more sure of yourself then you ever have before. Alex Kandel's edgy, yet inspirational, voice instantly lured me in, reminding me of a younger, more punk–rockish Shania Twain. The album starts off with a super upbeat song called "Be Brave", which brought me a subliminal wave of courage that I did not know I could feel, as if I could just get up and conquer the world. The lyrics "But I could be brave in your bed tonight", did a good job setting the controlling promiscuous tone for what was to come. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The lyrics "I came all the way just to see you," indicates the journey we're about to go on through About Last Night. The track "Haunting Me" surprised me with its vulnerability. We decided to drive to our first destination, which was a 13 hour drive! On the way to our first destination, we stopped in Athens, Alabama to stay the night and aquire some grub. We were able to eat some dinner while we were at the hotel and we ordered the most incomparable pizza ever! The pizza place's' name was "Joe's Pizza" The owner's name is Joe and has multiple Guinness World Records for his pizza making skills. All the pizzas are hand made and put into a brick pizza oven to accommodate just the right doneness and taste. It just made me speechless, the water was perfect, the air was warm, and I just wanted to jump right in and start swimming in the water. While in Panama City we did a couple different activities. Some of which included, obviously going to the beach for a couple of days. The we went to the Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum. The water in this song refers to the water of baptism and when it comes to "water," Underwood immerses herself in a redemptive story–song, which tells of her decision to turn to God for guidance in the first place. She recalls being dunked in her small hometown church and how proud she was the day she was baptized (Scott "Carrie Underwood"). The song finds Underwood revisiting the turning to God of her hit single "Jesus, Take The Wheel." In this instance she is singing about water baptism. At the end of her song she also includes the classic hymn "Amazing Grace." By doing this Underwood examines her placement as a mainstream trendsetter and potential Christian–country crossover star (Scott "Carrie Underwood"). Though we have learned Underwood is clearly no stranger to singing about her beliefs, she said in a past interview she has come under criticism for working on such songs as "Something In The Water" and "Jesus, Take The Wheel" (Koonse "Carrie Underwood"). • 57. `` Blown Away `` By Josh Kear And Chris Tompkins Use... Fathers are viewed as the head of the household and the glue that holds the family together. For this reason, as young girls grow up, they look to their fathers for stability and comfort. In the song, the father was the complete opposite of everything good. He failed the young girl by tearing her down and making her life miserable. In "Blown Away", the authors Josh Kear and Chris Tompkins use symbolism and imagery to show the difficulties the girl face as a child and how she finds hope for a better future. One device the authors use to portray hope is symbolism. The first way the song exhibits symbolism is through the tornado and the destruction is causes. Carrie Underwood sings, "The weather man called for a twister / she pray it blow down" (lines 5–6). These lines show that she wants the tornado to come down towards her. It represents the destruction her father has brought her life, but also the hope she has that it will be good for her future. She realizes that while the tornado might destroy everything she owns and knows about her childhood, it will also set her free from her father and the darkness that is bringing her down. Her life is like the storm. Before a storm comes it is dark and dreary outside, much like her life now. After a storm passes the skies clear and a rainbow appears, this is what her life will be like after the tornado passes. The storm takes away all the bad in her life and leaves her with an open path to a brighter future. The second way the authors ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They were first introduced to the world when they appeared as individual contestants on the U.K.'s The X Factor, but as individual contestants they didn't make it very far in the competition. Their first lucky break from even being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I thought everything and everyone I loved in my life would be in my possession for eternity, unknowing of how cruel the world can be. The world is a mean and nasty place, and it will beat you down as long as you let it. Nothing is worse than losing someone who you love and cherish more than anything in the world. "I've lost everything." I had told myself the day my grandmother passed away. I was halfway through with cutting the grass, just finishing up the side yard when I was called inside. I knew that she was sick. I didn't know how bad. I was told her chances were minimal but I never listened. I was stubborn. I slowly walked towards the house, my heart was pounding like the beat of a drum, knowingly of what was about to happen. I looked at my watch, 10:05 the time read. I opened the door as I reluctantly entered my house. Tears started to fill my eyes as my family stares at me. My Aunt handed me the telephone as I slowly put it into my grasp. I moved the phone up to my ear and listened, but there was only silence. Everything was silent until I whispered softly into the phone,"Hello?" For a few moments it was still silent. Then I heard my father come back on the phone crying. He slowly spoke, "Thomas I... I'm sorry your grandmother has passed away ." Everything went dark. No. This can't be how is she gone? I Talked to her weeks before and she was just fine. But, somehow she was gone just like ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When I was 5 years old everywhere I turned seemed to be something new that I had never discovered before. I could let my mind run wild and some of the smallest of things could be super big, like the sand box being the Sahara Desert! When watching the movie "Aladdin" the song "A whole New World" brings back memories on how everything was new and exciting whenever I was five. The song states, "A whole new world" multiple times which expresses how when I was five no matter where I went there was always something new around the corner (Rice). Whenever I was 5 my imagination could take me anywhere I wanted to go. I remember when I looked at the washer I didn't see it as something that washed clothes. Instead it was a monster that swallowed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 73. Miranda Lambert Interpretation Miranda Lambert, a female country artist, wrote 'Mama's Broken Heart' which was one of her singles for her album 'Four the Record'. When I first heard the song, I loved it instantly. The tune along with the verses went along very well. The prevailing guitar in the song also sounded great. Miranda Lambert became a solo artist in 2003 when she was a finalist in a show called 'Nashville Star'. She won third place, and later signed a record deal with Epic Records. Since then she has been a well known female country artist. She has featured in songs with other great artist such as Carrie Underwood and Little Big Town. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When I first heard this song, it kind of reminded me of her previous song 'Gunpowder and Lead'. She has that sass and toughness in both songs. When I hear this song I believe she is trying to portray how times have changed. For example she states "My momma came from a softer generation/ Where you get a grip and bite your lip just to save a little face." I believe she is telling us how maybe back in the day you may have had to hide your crazy but times have changed. In her chorus she also says "Run and hide your crazy and start actin' like a lady/ Cause I raised you better, gotta keep it together/ Even when you fall apart." This to me makes me feel like society holds women up to a higher standard, where we always have to act like ladies and be ok. I feel as if we cannot show our emotions because we have to live up to that standard of society. We always need to act like ladies and be ladylike, when in reality there are times we want to go crazy. It is normal human behavior, yet we are shamed if we show it because we get hit with the "that is not ladylike" speech. Another verse that stuck out to me was 'This aint my momma's broken ... • 75. Country Music Problems During the 1920's, people have argued this to be known as the "Roaring 20's" because of all the new trends that were created in different areas of culture. One of the biggest reasons for this were the birth of new music genres such as "Country". People do love country music because of the meanings behind every lyric of each song, but in reality country music has brought more problems than happiness to society. Some of the reasons why country music has brought a lot of issues to society are due to its horrible sound, the nonsense from the lyrics, and the use of weird instruments such as an autoharp and a banjo. As a result of this combination, the percentage of suicide from all ages has increased ever since country music was introduced. Suicide ratings have been scaring scientists all over the world, they believe that people who listen to country music go through 5 different stages that will lead them to their death. This is the biggest problem that country music has caused throughout the course of its history. Not only has it scared the population of big nations, but it has also scarred scientists because they have estimated that humanity could become extinct in the next 30 years. Ever since country music was introduced to society, the percentage of suicide has increased every year by 3% worldwide. In countries such as Germany, Honduras, Uzbekistan and a few others have banned country music because it has drastically decreased their population by 25%. According to New ... I was only in 2nd grade but I still remember how Heather, Sara, Sierra, Grandma, Grandpa, and I packed into our four–door, red 2000 Dodge Durango. We all were so excited. I was bouncing up and down in my seat even though I had just awakened. I didn't sleep much the night before neither did my sisters nor had my cousin. Heather and Sara sat behind my Grandparents. Papaw was driving with Grandma in the passenger seat, Sierra and I sat in the third row of seats. I remember just how cramped it was we had suitcases on the floorboard in front of us. I had my CD player and headphones, not the small ones either. The children had each brought a pillow and a blanket. I remember how Sierra had eaten leftover chili before we left early that morning, long before the sun broke the horizon. She made the car smell like rotten eggs the whole way to Florida.
