College Is An American Writer
All humans come to a point on whether or not they would like to attend college. College is a step
one takes to further their education in the pursuit of having a career. But is that the only reason why
someone would really choose to go to college? Choosing to become part of a huge or small
community that holds a lot responsibilities is big decision one must think thoroughly about. They
must have a purpose behind it for its rare to see someone say "I want to go to college just because I
want." Louis Menand, an American writer, has addressed this question with the three most common
theories as to why someone would decide to go to college. His theories will show the different
perspectives upon the arrival of choosing to attend college which will lead to what I find very
convincing from them all.
We go to college to spend four years of our lives and thousands of money on the school, yet we
never ask ourselves why we choose to attend college. Menand developed three reasons as to why
people may choose to go to college; meritocratic, democratic, and vocational. These theories arose
when asked a simply, yet very intellectual question, "Why did we have to buy this book?" (Menand
pp. 1). Theory one beliefs that only the intelligent ones are able to attend this four year university.
The education given in college is help progress the society we live in. In order for that to happen,
"society needs a mechanism for sorting out its more intelligent members from its less intelligent
ones"

The New Liberal Arts Ungar Summary
In the 20th century, there are many individuals that can argue whether going to college is the correct
decision to make right after graduating high school. Ungar and Murray, go head to head, and give
detailed and credible information to back up their opinion on why individuals should consider
attending college.
According to Unger's article, The New Liberal Arts, he solely concentrates on explaining why a
liberal arts college education should be the one that high school graduates should aspire. He explains
why liberal arts should be aspired by high school graduates by dissecting seven common
misconceptions that many people have, and proving them otherwise. Ungar's first misperception
tells us how many view a liberal arts degree as a luxury ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He claims that fewer people should go to college because students should have already learned what
will be exposed to them in college, in elementary and middle school. He states, "K–8 are the right
years to teach the core knowledge [of liberal education], and the effort should get off to a running
start in elementary school" (Murray 2008:23). Basically saying that liberal education should not be
studied in college, but rather in an age where children have more fact–based nature. Another
argument that Murray provides in his article is that people solely go to college to earn a reputable
resume with a B.A. to get a decent job. Murray (2008:246) says that "large numbers of students are
in college to buy their admission ticket – the B.A." In addition, another argument that Murray
introduces to support his idea of why fewer people should attend college is that he believes that
individuals might already have the knowledge and skill to go out into the real world, without
needing a college degree. Murray also believes that individuals that complete college and get B.A.
are likely to make less money than if he were to become a skilled work, such as an electrician, right
after high school. Murray writes, "In today's America, finding a first–rate lawyer or physician is
easy. Finding a first–rate skilled labor is hard." This encourages people not to attend college after
high school, but

Why People Should Go To College
One of the first colleges ever created was established in 1636 by the vote of the great and general
court of Massachusetts Bay Colony, and was called Harvard (Harvard University). Many teenagers
believe that college can be very difficult so they forget about the benefits that a person receives after
attending. Not only teenagers believe this but also many adults that did not have the opportunity to
attend college. They believe what other people say about college without never trying it out and
what they say about college is that it is difficult, boring and tiring of the work. People should go to
college for greater success because it gives a better chance of landing a job, increases a person's
income, and gives people a chance to network. One

Should College Be A Mandatory Educational Experience? Essay
College is often advertised as a mandatory educational experience before being able to acquire basic
needs in today's society, which, isn't true. That doesn't mean college shouldn't be attended, but
college doesn't always live up to expectations and there are other ways to attain knowledge on any
career you strive to succeed in. In addition there are opportunities to obtain stable income. After
comprehending readings from various authors and analyzing statements from my interviewee
Okosioda Durham, who attended BMCC. I've come to the conclusion that college is a want, thus
being why I should go to college, because I want to. College tends to be praised as challenging in
the academic field and will cause you to advance drastically. The president of the Economic Policy
Institute, a research organization, would disagree. Lawrence Mishel says "I have heard esteemed
academics – wrongly equate college graduates with 'smart people' and 'skilled workers.'" Mishel,
Lawrence "College is Not Always the Answer." New York Times March 1, 2012. It is evident people
have a common misconception that college will definitely improve your intellectual capability. This
common belief heavily influenced Durham's reasoning to go to college. I asked "Why did you
decide you wanted to go to college?" he replied "My reason to go to college was to attain a higher
education and sit in a class room where everyone was intellectually stimulated" This comment then
led me to ask

Informative Essay: Why People Should Go To College
College is worth it for many reasons and ways. Source #1 stated that (college graduates make 38%
more money than a non college graduate) this means that if you go to college after a long while you
make nearly 1 MILLION more dollars from going to college compared to going to just high school.
Ultimately college is much more meaningful moneywise after a long period of time.
One big reason why people should go to college is because college graduates make plenty more
money than high school graduates. Source #2 states (paraphrased) (with a college degree you can
get almost any job you would like and make much more money than a high school graduate). So
obviously if you go to college you make much more money and you can choose from a huge variety
of jobs, almost any possible job there is. Compared to if you only went to high school where you
can only choose from a select few jobs and you dont make nearly as much money as you would if
you go to college. The point is that with college there are lots and lots more things you can achive
going to college compared to going to high school. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Source #3 stated, "so you would be more likely to earn the job against the other person."It really
wouldn't make sense to not go to college, because if you do there are so many more benefits, like
getting almost any possible job, or making much more money, compared to not going to college
where you don´t get any of those benefits. Job security relies much more on your skill level and
determination to obtain a job. –Ms.

The Pros And Cons Of Going To College
Going to college is a personal decision, not a public one. The decision whether or not to go to
college should only be the student's only, no one else's. Pressuring a high school graduate into going
to is unfair, why? The reasoning being is that not all high school graduates need to go to college in
order to live a happy and secure life. Education is not for everyone. Some high school students
cannot stand being at school at all. Why should people who do not like school go to college? The
supporters for this side, the side that disagrees, can see why people want all graduates to go to
college. A lot of great paying jobs require a college degree, that is a fact that nobody can really deny.
The thing is is that a graduate's number one priority

Essay On Should Public Colleges Or Universities Be...

"Should Any Public Colleges or Universities Be Tuition–Free?". There are many reasons why this is
important; why this is important to our generation is much of generation is going to college very
shortly. Another reason for this being the most important issue is we spend much of our life on
education being in school. Lastly many people do not go to college but, college graduates are
thought of to have a better life after college.
Much of our generation was born in either 1999 or 2000, meaning these kids are 16 and 17. With
this generation being 16 and 17 these kids are juniors or seniors that means they are deciding in a

Essay On Why Kids Should Not Go To College
College
Have you thought about you future? Do you want to go to college? Does it cost to much? Robert

educations for students, without saddling those students with crippling debt." This is an example of
students every year, then students try to pay it off year by year. They can't afford to pay it because
they are trying to take care of families. On the other side of the debate, people believe that everyone
should go to college because that can pay it off later, It better just have a college degree, and as long
as your motive you can do it. However, It is absolutely important that kids should not have to pay to

Critics often argue, The evidence is overwhelming that the single most effective mechanism for
narrowing the gap between the wealthy and the poor in the United States is a college education.
Despite the idea, during high school teachers are saying a lot about college, then they are stressing if
they got in. Also parents and gardens are asking questions about the college they want to go to. Then
you are getting letters in the mail about college. For example,(McArdle n.p.) We all seem to agree
that a college education is wonderful, and yet strangely we worry when we see families investing so
much in this supposedly essential good. Our families spend so much time and money on your
college fund and or high school graduation. Megan Ardle quotes, "that kind of education has gotten
a whole lot more expensive since I was in school, and jobs seem to be getting scarcer, not more
plentiful." The jobs you want with your college degree is getting scarier, is it worth it? Another
thing, All the student loans people owe adds lots of stress later in life. College has a lot of stress
problems. Therefore, It's clear to see college adds way too much stress on

Should Parents Be Paid For College?
This essay discusses whether if the student or the parent should pay for college. When a teenager
decides to go to college they believe that their parent will pay for their education. Statistics show
that 60% of students will have their parents pay for their education and 30% of students pay for
school themselves. Students have sued their parents for college tuition, some have lost the case and
some have won their cases, but why should these students get free tuition money out of their
parents? Parents don't want their kids to go into life with debt thus they pay for their college when
they have the money or atleast help pay for their students tuition. Colleges are expensive and
without the higher education people can not pursue their dream careers, therefore people take out
big student loans to pay for their education and are usually in debt for 20 years if they have a
bachelor's degree. This may seem bad but if they are smart with their money they will eventually get
out of debt and enjoy all of the money they earn. Sometimes it won't take as to pay off debt if you
get scholarships and grants to help pay for school and on top of that you can also lower the price of

Well they shouldn't have to pay for their students education. After the student turns 18 and is out of
highschool the parent is no longer responsible to them and legally not required to take care of their
child anymore and that includes college tuition. The student chooses to go to college therefore they
should be responsible for the debt they acquire while going to school. Why would we set up students
for debt? College is expensive and parents are in charge of their own finances including their future
retirement funds so they can retire when they are around 60 and enjoy the rest of their lives, It would
be a lot better for the parent not to accumulate debt for their students education and instead have the
student go into debt and pay it off with in 20

Should College Be Free
Today in America, college tuition is more expensive compared to what it was in the 80s and 90s.
More people rely on welfare and are living in poverty; they cannot afford college for their children.
The first two years of college should be provided free for everyone in America because there is a
possibility that some of the world's brightest minds could not afford the outlandish prices of college.
Some people do not believe this way because their taxes will go up and they think they should not
have to pay for someone else's child. These people have some good points as taxes will go up, but
ultimately they will be helping better the community by getting more educated people out into the
world. The first two years of college should be provided for qualifying students because they work
hard, they may not be able to afford it, and student debt can cause severe depression. ... Show more

This idea should be implemented across America because it prevents those who do not care about
college from going for free for two years. Those students who work hard and do their best should
have their college paid for two years even if they do not have the best ACT scores or the best grades.
Some people are not great test takers and cannot do well in the school environment but still want to
be successful in life. Why should these students have to pay to better themselves? If students take
the initiative and work to the best of their ability, then they should not be punished by having to pay
for two more years of school, especially if they cannot afford it. If they want to go to college and
work hard to become a better member of society, then they should not have to pay to do

Should College Athletes Be Paid?
Should? Or Should Not? In college sports today there is an occurring issue on whether or not
college athletes should be paid to play. This issue has been disputed since the NCAA was
established in 1906. These athletes have made money for everybody involved with these schools,
but they themselves have made nothing. The main reason these players have not acquired pay is
because of the NCAA and their rules and regulations. College athletes should get paid because they
are the main source of revenue for colleges. Also they should be paid, because some might be poor
or have been injured and they need money to help their lives stay on track. Things may be said like
why should students to get paid to get an education. This is not why these athletes should get paid
though. They should get paid because the university is making money on their likeness. For most
people it makes since that college players do not get paid because they are already on scholarship.
But what about the players that are injured, the colleges usually take away their scholarship and
players are left with nothing. There are many factors that weigh on this idea but through my views I
see no reason why they should not get paid. The issue the NCAA has with players being played to
play is numerous but also inadequate. The NCAA created a word to use so that when an opposing
group tries to attack them they can strike them down with no worries. The word is, "student–
athlete," they have devised this term so that if an

Should College Be College?
Every year millions of students make the choice to attend college to further their education and
obtain a degree. Many of these students have their own purpose for coming to college, most would
assume they come to college to get a degree in order to get a job. Some go to college for other
reasons, or a combination of reasons. One's purpose should only be defined by the individual
themselves and shouldn't be assigned to them. This goes the same for making the decision to go to
college, one should choose whether they want to attend college. When I made the choice to go to
college, I had a plenty of reasons why I should go, but didn't have many reasons to not go. The one
reason I had that would have changed my decision is most likely a concern for most, the cost of
attending college. I looked past that and decided to come to college, and I like many thought my
purpose was to go to college just to get a degree. After the first moth of college I learned that I have
multiple purposes. Throughout my first month of college, I have learned from many individuals
what their purpose is. This made me rethink the reasons why I came to college, and by doing that I
came to the conclusion that there is multiple reasons I went to college. My purpose is to not only
earn a degree, but to discover who I am, learn about different types of people, learn how the real
world works, to mature into a capable adult, and to meet new people. College not only teaches

Essay On Why College Football Should Be Banned
College Football should be banned for lots of reasons. Why this sport should be banned is that
college football is a distraction on the athlete's studies and takes away their critical knowledge about
the real world, but also school work and what is important in life. Another reason why college
football should be banned is players could get injured severely. For examples, concussions, broken
spin, injuries that keeps them for not doing anything in life. College football also makes school more
expensive than it should be.

Coaches will take millions of dollars for student athletes to live anywhere they want to and give out
full scholarships. College football, and basketball players get a lot of amount of money its around
hundred thousand dollars for housing, living off or on campus, and supplies for school (Blackistone
2014). It's not fair for college football players that don't do has much school work a normal student
would do daily. College athletes and regular students should have the same rules same
accountability the school demands (Blackistone 2014). Another big part why college football should
be banned is that programs take money from college students that pay for class pay for meals pay
everything they do on campus just as student fees and funds and Student athletes get everything for
free not have to pull out their own wallets (Bissinger 2012). When college football coaches take
millions of dollars they are also making the school more and more expensive for the students that
must pay to attended to that university or college there are at (bissinger 2012). Students that go to
school just go for education don't have any athletic ability to play college football and get that
opportunity to have to that. Every student that attended at a college should have the same rights

College Education Is Not Worth It Essay
"You don't have to be a genius or a visionary or even a college graduate to be successful. You just
need a framework and a dream" (Michael Dell).College education prices are not worth it. College
does not land you a good paying job, you end up in deep debt, and it is not worth it for low–income
families. College prices are not worth it. Why, because of the rises cost of tuition and the lack of
public school preparation. The promise of college has been to find a career, often it did not carry out
its' task. "La Tisha went on and majored in a Spanish degree and studied for 4 years (Is college

Why is that? "When they ran the students' data, the dashboard indicates that 1,200 from the

low–income families were failing. Therefore, when you think of it, how many of those students
were actually trying. Because if low–income students manage to pass college, then they would not
be low–income . "As for the low–income, 40% of them need financial aid(who gets to graduate 5)."
Furthermore, this means that those students came from low–income families. Therefore if it were not
for financial aid those students wouldn't be in college. But ,if those low–income students manage to

their families. Let's look at reality, there is not a lot of people out there who are up for the challenge.
They just go to college because everyone says they should go, but they do not know what to do
when they get there. If you are one those people you should not go. But, if you are not and you are

Should College Tuition Be Free For Everyone?
Should College Tuition Be Free For Everyone? Dr. Mary C. Clement said it best, when she said,
"Teaching is one of the most wonderful, difficult, rewarding, challenging, invigorating, and tiring
jobs in the world" (Clement). Teachers and Professors have worked at their profession and job for
years. They have gone through extensive training and schooling. Why should the students who take
the professors classes at a university, not pay tuition to support the school, and professors that the
school hires?
In the world we live in today, there is more than one trillion dollars in student loan debt holding
down college kids (Cubberly). Being able to pay for college is getting tougher for students straight
out of high school, without the help of their parents. In the meantime, middle class and hard working
Americans continue to see their hard earned money be given away through taxes. Why should the
middle class people be held down by this extra taxation among other things? Higher tax rates,
college diplomas would be a minimum requirement, further the entitlement culture, and more
money in the rich families pockets are reasons why college tuition should not be free for everyone.
First, free college for everyone would result in more money for the rich college kids' family, who
would already have enough money for college. At age nineteen under 20 percent of kids in the
poorest 2 percent of families in the country attend college (Bruenig). Those kids have many reasons,

Is College For Everyone?
Nowadays, seniors students in high school are qualified to graduate and peregrinate to college to get
a degree for their future jobs. There is an author, Pharinet, who verbally expresses that, "That there
are too many students enrolled in school who simply don't belong there" (680). Pharinet says that in
her article, "Is College for Everyone?" She argues that college is not for everyone and that students
should think deeply afore enrolling. She claims that students who are not academically ready and
financially stable are the most mundane in college. Pharinet commences her credibility (ethos),
logically (logos), and emotionally (pathos) with broad facts and statistics, a real–life situation, and
word of mouth on why college is not for everyone.
In Pharinet's article, she first states that students who are inclined to peregrinate to college are due to
jobs that require a degree or simply because your parent pressure you to go. If a student decides to
peregrinate to college, a great deal of them does go. She perpetuates by discussing that, "There are
too many students enrolled in school who simply don't belong there... approximately 50% of
students who begin college never graduate"(680). She states that if a student goes to college, they
will have a "50/50" or a "do or die" of getting a degree. From her perspective, why peregrinate to
college if the approval rate is fifty percent (which it is not a good rate)? A possible solution to this
percentage, Pharinet suggest that

Why Is College Education Worth The Expense
Is College Education Worth The Expense What is your plan after high school? Maybe you will go

Or you will go to college. The only person who can decide what they want to do with their life is
you. Now I believe that going to college will be a lot more helpful than just skipping college and
getting a job right away. Or starting your own company. Now some of the reasons why you should
go to college are you will get a high percentage of getting the job that you want. A lot of jobs require
a degree, but some people don't know that. Like let's say someone wants to become a scientist well u
would have to get a college degree to become one. Some jobs don't require a degree ,but most good
jobs do. When you go to college to get your degree in something. You don't just learn how to do

Should College Tuition Be Free
Imagine having to pay $25,620 just for a college education, research has shown the average
bachelor's degree holder takes 21 years to pay off his or her loans. This leads to the question if
college tuition should be free or not. While some may believe it ought to be others disagree.
People like Arne Duncan believe college tuition should be free. "The cost of college should never
discourage anyone from going after a valuable degree." Meanwhile people such as Matt Bruenig
disagree. "Making college free for everyone would almost certainly mean giving far more money to
students from richer families than from poorer ones."
To start off, some people strongly concur that college tuition should be free. For example free
college tuition means more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the reasons why people believe that college tuition shouldn't be free is because taxes and fees
will be increased. "Many students can afford to pay a considerable amount toward their higher
education. "It is wasteful to give them a free ride." Eric Maskin explains. Just because some students
can't pay their college tuition doesn't mean everyone can't therefore there is no need for college
tuition to be free. College loans are often the first major financial dealing that people work with.
Paying them off in a timely manner proves you know how to budget your money, skills people use
again and again when buying cars or houses. Without having to pay for school, that experience won't
exist, which might be trouble down the road for buying that house or car. In reason to college
shouldn't be free because college might not seem as important and private schools may have to be
closed. If college becomes free for students, colleges will attract more young people who are not
suited for college and more students will major in fields with little or no market value. Students may
skip class or not try their hardest of the fact that they don't need to "get their cash's worth" when
they aren't paying for anything. "As enrollment at public schools increases, so do the fees. Either
more money would have to be given to the schools, or they would have to create waitlists. This
means that the taxes for education–related purposes might go up, or funding for something else
(such as military expenditures)." After consideration some may believe that college tuition shouldn't

High School Students Attend College
The topic I chose to research is all high school students must receive a college degree. The reason

Argumentative Essay: Should College Be Free?
Should College Be Free? College is, no doubt, not an option if someone wants to succeed in this
thriving world today. Free tuition would be great, but free tuition would mean the government
would have to pay. Instead of students paying for tuition, tax payers would be paying, so technically
the federal government does not pay for free tuition. College should not be completely free because
college is a privilege not a right, taxes would go up, and previous students would want to be paid
back. Everybody is entitled to a high school education however, not everybody is entitled to a
college education. If college were free, more people would treat it like a high school course, where

College Interview: Does college make a difference?
Our whole lives we are told education is the most important thing. We are told we must go to
college in order to be successful. These are the expectations people have of us. After we graduate
High School we are expected to go to college. College is supposed to be the goal that everyone
wants to achieve. College is an institution of higher learning where you gain life skills and skills that
help you to be the best in whichever career you choose. If this is the case then why have college
enrollment rates decreased over the years. According to Alia Wong, the percentage of high–school
graduates who immediately enrolled in college fell from 69 percent in 2008 to 66 percent in 2013
and continues to decrease. If college is supposed to better your life why do so many high school
students decide not to go?
Many different factors could influence a person 's decision to go or not to go to college. Some
factors may be money, tradition, better opportunities or just a reason to get away from home. In an
interview I did with my uncle I asked him numerous questions about college. I interviewed him

Why Do We Need The Electoral College
I believe that we don't need the Electoral College for multiple reasons. One of the reasons have to do
with technology and another reason has to do with power. There are more reasons as well. While I
believe that we don't need the Electoral College, if we go with the popular vote then we could run
into issues like the candidates won't actually get more than half of America's vote.
The first reason that I think that we should go with the popular vote is that while the people back
then needed the Electoral College, we don't anymore. Since we have modern technology, we can be
informed by searching the candidates' views. Another evidence that we are informed is that there has
only been five times where the popular vote would have given a different president than what the
Electoral college would have picked. That means that the citizens of America are about as informed
as the people in the Electoral college.
The second reason that we should have the people vote instead of the Electoral college is that the
people who aren't part of the Electoral College don't have a say in who our president will be. The
only people who actually have a say is the people involved in the electoral college and that is only
538 people. There are more than 300 million people who should actually get to choose. Another
evidence that we don't need the Electoral ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One piece of evidence for this would be that a couple of states can't elect a president when you go
by the Electoral College votes. If we went by the popular vote, the candidates would go only to
places with the largest amount of population like Texas, California, New York, and Florida. A
second piece of evidence would be that the candidates would not have any regional favorites
because using electoral college, no region has enough electoral votes to win an

Should Everyone Go To College Research Paper
Whether or not everyone should be required to go to college is an issue that is constantly being
discussed within our society. Some people believe that everyone should be required to go to college
while other people believe that everyone should not be required to go to college. Therefore, in this
paper, I will address the issue of whether or not everyone should be required to go to college. First, I
will explain an argument that shows that everyone should be required to go to college is wrong.
Second, I will present my own argument, showing why that argument is bad. Third, I will conclude
with some further thoughts about whether or not everyone should be required to go to college. As a
result, in this paper, I will argue that not everyone should be required to go to college. As previously
stated, whether or not everyone should be required to go ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

For example, the first premise, which is that college graduates have more and better employment
opportunities, is false. The reason why the first premise is false is that not all college graduates have
more and better employment opportunities. Not all college graduates have more and better
employment opportunities because there are too many workers and not enough jobs. What this
means is that when college graduates are ready to work, they will not have many employment
opportunities due to the limited amount of jobs. For example, there are too many students who are
studying law and once they graduate from college, they will have a difficult amount of time finding
a legal job due to a decrease in demand of lawyers. As a result, law students could face
unemployment. However, if a college student wants to have more and better employment
opportunities, then he or she will need to go to college and find a career, which has a high

Should College be Free?
"Progress is impossible without change, those who cannot change their minds cannot change
anything" – George Bernard Shaw. Without effort or trying something new you will get nowhere.
Education should definitely not be free but it should be less than what it is now.
College should not be free. I believe college should not be free because we would have all kinds of
people in classes that probably should not be there. I feel that we would have so many people in
college that shouldn't be in college and just don't care about it. It hurts me to say that college is just
not for some people. If there was not cost for education, that would be an open door for people who
are only looking for a place to mess around. Plus what would the teachers get paid for teaching or
just getting annoyed with the kids who don't want to pay attention. If you have people like that in
classes that hurts the people who actually want to be there who have taken advantage of the free
education. People would not take classes as seriously because, well shoot why would ... Show more

But at the same time that is kind of penalizing those people. The students who want to go to college
have to pay a huge fee every year for good schooling such as college. Obviously I'm not saying it
should be $200 a year. It should cost enough that people take it seriously. Some even pay extra for
more school after college. I don't believe college seekers should have to pay an "arm and a leg" for
something they need in life such as education. Even though I still do think there should be a cost to
the key to success, I don't think it should be that much that good students go into so much debt after
graduating from college. That just creates more stress that students have to worry about from
something they just put their life

The Importance Of Education
Why do students continue to enter a college education system that is no longer focusing on them?
The education system was built to serve the interest of the public, to provide opportunities for
people to further their education and move up or maintain their social classes, and to teach people to
think for themselves. All of the authors Menand, Roth, and Couturier all agree that education is
threatened by the fact that colleges are focusing more on their private affairs instead of the students.
They believe college should be focused on the student and their ability to think on their own and
"enhance their capabilities" (Roth 2). Rose–Hulman does this well by challenging their students
with a hard curriculum, but at the same time they are willing to give them plenty of opportunities to
find success with smaller class sizes and a student friendly environment.
Michael Roth believes that people aremore than just "human capital" for society; he thinks that
everyone should be able to find significance in their lives and work (3). In his essay "Learning as
Freedom, by he discusses why education should be more than just learning how to do a skill; John
Dewey said, it should be about "enhancing our capabilities" (2). He describes how everyone has
their role is society and that not everyone can be a leader, but Roth quotes Dewey saying, "–the
great thing for one as for the other is that each shall have had the education which enables him to see
within his daily work all there is in it

Persuasive Essay : Why College Should Not Go To College
Imagine being someone who struggled throughout high school, but is constantly being told they
need to go to college. If a student is constantly having problems with their learning, thinking,
money, and support, why should they be obligated to continue their education when they are
struggling today? The problem today is that people feel like they have no other choice but go to
college to be successful. Many people today do not go to college, but get a job and slowly start to
become successful. A person can work and gain experience and knowledge, which allows a person
to move up. Since there are many jobs today that do not require a college degree, going to college
should not be obligated by students after high school. College is not for everyone, and no one should
be forced to go. College is not for everyone, nor is it required for a lot of jobs today. A reason that
people do not necessarily have to go to college is because most jobs today don't require going to
college. Last year, "according to the federal reserve bank of new york, 46 percent of recent college
graduates were in jobs that don't even require a college degree." This is saying that majority of those
that went to college wasted their time and money for something that was not needed. The more
people waste their time, the longer it will take to be successful. This is one example that supports
why college is not necessary. Another reason why college isn't for everyone is because of how
expensive it is. Today, to get a even a four year degree, you pay a lot of money. Even though
colleges are expensive, not all expensive colleges have the best education. "The biggest frauds are
for profit colleges that are raking in money even as their students drop out in droves, and whose
diplomas are barely worth the ink jets they're printed on." This is saying that people can pay large
amounts of money for college, does not mean they will learn anything. People who go through job
trainings tend to learn more things quicker than actually going to college. Basically, getting a degree
is not only pointless for jobs today, but can also be very expensive and useless to go to. Although
college is not always needed for jobs, getting a degree is a great opportunity to

Why College Is Not Worth It Analysis
As you graduate high school you begin to think about whether to go to college or not. A huge
number of people believe that college isn't worth your time or your money. In my opinion, education
after high school is absolutely worth your time and money. There are many reasons why you should
go to college. Some reasons are, you can earn money and another is that you have a greater chance
of getting a good and decent job. In this essay I will discuss the value of college and why it is
important. College may seem not seem like the best path in life but when it comes to reality, it is.
One reason to prove my claim is, that you can earn more money after finishing college. According
to the article, "Actually, college is very much worth it" by Andrew J. Rotherham, it shows the
amount of weekly earnings a non–college ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the article, "New school year, old story: Education pays", it shows the difference
between the types of jobs you can have if you go to college or not. For example, if you go to
college, you will have a better chance of getting a life changing job. If you don't go to college or
graduate college, it is less likely of you to get the job you want or the job that has a good profit for
you. Even though college does sound so great, it will lead you to a successful life in the future.
Someone who went to college might say that it was their best years of their life, and others might
say that they dreaded the fact of college. College is in fact very expensive. Many people who don't
go to college usually don't have the money to go and at the same time, don't earn the education they
need. According to the article, "why is college so expensive" it states, " As the government's budget
changed, so did the University's funding." This shows why college is majorly expensive because as
the budget of the government changes, the cost of college

Is College Worth It Essay
When college pops up in the mind of a high school graduate they sometimes ask themselves, is it
really worth it . Well the answer is yes! College is very much worth it. Many times people have
debated on wether to go to college or just stay as a high school graduate.
But i'm here to prove that college is worth it because you get paid more, earn responsibility, and you
get health insurance and retirement plans.
First, college is more valuable because you get paid more. According to "Pro&Con Arguments" it
states, " on average, a college graduate with a bachelor degree earned $30,000 more per year than a
high school graduate, over $500,000 more over an year." This shows that high school graduates
don't make a lot of money, that's why it's important to get an education and money. Getting an
education gets you money and it's important to go to college because if you don't go to college you
are more likely to never gain responsibility for anything you do in life. Most people agree with
going to college to make money but others just think that college is just a waste and you only go
there to go to school but actually going to college gets you in the idea of making your own decisions
and also taking responsibility for many things.Which takes me to my next reason why ... Show more

can help kids think and make decisions. Kids who go to college also end up learning about maturity
and thinking about their future. People also believe that without going to college and gaining
responsibility, kids become sloppy and irresponsible and would never think about the future and

Reasons Why College Athletes Should Be Paid
I believe that college athletes should be paid for many reasons. One reason why they should get paid
is because they put themselves on the line. They also put on an incredible show for the people so
that means more money. The third explanation why these athletes should be paid is because they
would help begin a sense of financial awareness. Another statement of why they should get paid is
because this is the main way that colleges get money. The last and final explanation on why these
athletes should get paid is because they work harder than regular students. All these reasons are why
they should get paid. First of all, many of the athletes put themselves on the line and they put an
incredible show for the people so that means more money. A college athlete may get a scholarship to
go to a college to be able to play sports, but what would happen if they get hurt or cuty from a team.
They might lose their dream of becoming something big in life or they might not accomplish a
dream they wanted to be successful in. These athlete's career can end any second and they do it for
the people. According to Marc Edelman he states that " Not only do they miss class, but they are
absent for nationally televised games that make a lot of money and receive millions of viewers".
These means that these athletes are missing their school time to make an entertaining event for
millions of viewers. These athletes are the main cause of why these people want to got to a certain

Argumentative Essay: Is College Free Or Free?
As the years go by college tuition rises in price, making it challenging for some families to send
their child to college. To make it easier for people to afford why don't we make at least one non ivy
league college free for all instate students. Well a lot of people say they should but I don't think they
should be free. First of all if state colleges are free that could leave people who don't care about
college taking up spots for those who really want to attend college. Here is a diagram created by
Kunal Jasty, that shows where the money you pay goes too. As you can see here the majority of the
cost goes to the instructors and teacher. If state colleges were free the state would have to pay for the
teaching. In another graph I have created it shows the amount of money being paid for state colleges

Explain Why College Should Not Be Free Essay
Why college should not be free
College in modern times is said to be a necessity for success, but should college be free? The system
college creates relies on the cost of the education being extremely high to function, if we made
college free it would lose all of its value. Without the high price, college would just be an extension
of your high school education. Education is expensive and someone else would have to foot the bill
for your secondary learning and housing. On the other hand, college creates many problems for the
students who choose to attend. Some of these problems include a perceived lack of fairness, massive
amounts of debt, and a lack of opportunity for students who grew up in a lower economic class.
Another drawback to expensive education is the very intelligent ... Show more content on

Debt has become a major issue in politics for my generation, people think they should be absolved
of the debt they signed up for. It would be very good for our country if no person had any debt from
their education. In a time where the majority of people own less than the top one percent, we should
be doing everything we can to help people who cannot pay for their education. The only problem is
that someone has to pay back the money that they barrowed. It would be irresponsible to trust your
own debt, that you knowingly signed up for, onto every tax paying American. When people sign up
for college it is not like anyone forced them to take out loans or forced them to go to college in the
first place. Some might say that the cost of college is so great that no person should be expected to
pay back such a large sum. While it is true that the cost is high, every person should be responsible
for the money that they borrowed to pay for their degree. Thankfully with a college degree you have

Essay On Why Students Should Get Free Tuition
Why should students with low income get free college tuition? There are a lot of people who don't
or can't go to college because it costs too much. Some students don't go because they see that their
parents are successful without going to college. Since they see that they can be successful without
college, they don't even try to go and spend all that money. Making college tuition free is not just a
benefit for students. Having free tuition is a benefit for the whole world. Some adults that didn't
finish college can go and finish college whenever they want to because they don't have to worry
about tuition. A few reasons why students can't pay college tuition is because they have bad credit, a
low paying job, or having trouble with living situations. I believe that the main reasons why students
with low income should get free college tuition is because students choose work over school, some
are single parents, and the students simply can't afford college.

College Is An American Writer

  • 1. College Is An American Writer All humans come to a point on whether or not they would like to attend college. College is a step one takes to further their education in the pursuit of having a career. But is that the only reason why someone would really choose to go to college? Choosing to become part of a huge or small community that holds a lot responsibilities is big decision one must think thoroughly about. They must have a purpose behind it for its rare to see someone say "I want to go to college just because I want." Louis Menand, an American writer, has addressed this question with the three most common theories as to why someone would decide to go to college. His theories will show the different perspectives upon the arrival of choosing to attend college which will lead to what I find very convincing from them all. We go to college to spend four years of our lives and thousands of money on the school, yet we never ask ourselves why we choose to attend college. Menand developed three reasons as to why people may choose to go to college; meritocratic, democratic, and vocational. These theories arose when asked a simply, yet very intellectual question, "Why did we have to buy this book?" (Menand pp. 1). Theory one beliefs that only the intelligent ones are able to attend this four year university. The education given in college is help progress the society we live in. In order for that to happen, "society needs a mechanism for sorting out its more intelligent members from its less intelligent ones" ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. The New Liberal Arts Ungar Summary In the 20th century, there are many individuals that can argue whether going to college is the correct decision to make right after graduating high school. Ungar and Murray, go head to head, and give detailed and credible information to back up their opinion on why individuals should consider attending college. According to Unger's article, The New Liberal Arts, he solely concentrates on explaining why a liberal arts college education should be the one that high school graduates should aspire. He explains why liberal arts should be aspired by high school graduates by dissecting seven common misconceptions that many people have, and proving them otherwise. Ungar's first misperception tells us how many view a liberal arts degree as a luxury ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He claims that fewer people should go to college because students should have already learned what will be exposed to them in college, in elementary and middle school. He states, "K–8 are the right years to teach the core knowledge [of liberal education], and the effort should get off to a running start in elementary school" (Murray 2008:23). Basically saying that liberal education should not be studied in college, but rather in an age where children have more fact–based nature. Another argument that Murray provides in his article is that people solely go to college to earn a reputable resume with a B.A. to get a decent job. Murray (2008:246) says that "large numbers of students are in college to buy their admission ticket – the B.A." In addition, another argument that Murray introduces to support his idea of why fewer people should attend college is that he believes that individuals might already have the knowledge and skill to go out into the real world, without needing a college degree. Murray also believes that individuals that complete college and get B.A. are likely to make less money than if he were to become a skilled work, such as an electrician, right after high school. Murray writes, "In today's America, finding a first–rate lawyer or physician is easy. Finding a first–rate skilled labor is hard." This encourages people not to attend college after high school, but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Why People Should Go To College One of the first colleges ever created was established in 1636 by the vote of the great and general court of Massachusetts Bay Colony, and was called Harvard (Harvard University). Many teenagers believe that college can be very difficult so they forget about the benefits that a person receives after attending. Not only teenagers believe this but also many adults that did not have the opportunity to attend college. They believe what other people say about college without never trying it out and what they say about college is that it is difficult, boring and tiring of the work. People should go to college for greater success because it gives a better chance of landing a job, increases a person's income, and gives people a chance to network. One ... • 7. Should College Be A Mandatory Educational Experience? Essay College is often advertised as a mandatory educational experience before being able to acquire basic needs in today's society, which, isn't true. That doesn't mean college shouldn't be attended, but college doesn't always live up to expectations and there are other ways to attain knowledge on any career you strive to succeed in. In addition there are opportunities to obtain stable income. After comprehending readings from various authors and analyzing statements from my interviewee Okosioda Durham, who attended BMCC. I've come to the conclusion that college is a want, thus being why I should go to college, because I want to. College tends to be praised as challenging in the academic field and will cause you to advance drastically. The president of the Economic Policy Institute, a research organization, would disagree. Lawrence Mishel says "I have heard esteemed academics – wrongly equate college graduates with 'smart people' and 'skilled workers.'" Mishel, Lawrence "College is Not Always the Answer." New York Times March 1, 2012. It is evident people have a common misconception that college will definitely improve your intellectual capability. This common belief heavily influenced Durham's reasoning to go to college. I asked "Why did you decide you wanted to go to college?" he replied "My reason to go to college was to attain a higher education and sit in a class room where everyone was intellectually stimulated" This comment then led me to ask ... • 13. The Pros And Cons Of Going To College Going to college is a personal decision, not a public one. The decision whether or not to go to college should only be the student's only, no one else's. Pressuring a high school graduate into going to is unfair, why? The reasoning being is that not all high school graduates need to go to college in order to live a happy and secure life. Education is not for everyone. Some high school students cannot stand being at school at all. Why should people who do not like school go to college? The supporters for this side, the side that disagrees, can see why people want all graduates to go to college. A lot of great paying jobs require a college degree, that is a fact that nobody can really deny. The thing is is that a graduate's number one priority ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Critics often argue, The evidence is overwhelming that the single most effective mechanism for narrowing the gap between the wealthy and the poor in the United States is a college education. Also parents and gardens are asking questions about the college they want to go to. Then you are getting letters in the mail about college. For example,(McArdle n.p.) We all seem to agree that a college education is wonderful, and yet strangely we worry when we see families investing so much in this supposedly essential good. Our families spend so much time and money on your college fund and or high school graduation. Megan Ardle quotes, "that kind of education has gotten a whole lot more expensive since I was in school, and jobs seem to be getting scarcer, not more plentiful." • 19. Should Parents Be Paid For College? This essay discusses whether if the student or the parent should pay for college. When a teenager decides to go to college they believe that their parent will pay for their education. Statistics show that 60% of students will have their parents pay for their education and 30% of students pay for school themselves. Students have sued their parents for college tuition, some have lost the case and some have won their cases, but why should these students get free tuition money out of their parents? Parents don't want their kids to go into life with debt thus they pay for their college when they have the money or atleast help pay for their students tuition. Colleges are expensive and without the higher education people can not pursue their dream careers, therefore people take out big student loans to pay for their education and are usually in debt for 20 years if they have a bachelor's degree. This may seem bad but if they are smart with their money they will eventually get out of debt and enjoy all of the money they earn. • 21. Should College Be Free Today in America, college tuition is more expensive compared to what it was in the 80s and 90s. More people rely on welfare and are living in poverty; they cannot afford college for their children. The first two years of college should be provided free for everyone in America because there is a possibility that some of the world's brightest minds could not afford the outlandish prices of college. Some people do not believe this way because their taxes will go up and they think they should not have to pay for someone else's child. These people have some good points as taxes will go up, but ultimately they will be helping better the community by getting more educated people out into the world. The first two years of college should be provided for qualifying students because they work hard, they may not be able to afford it, and student debt can cause severe depression. ... • 23. Should College Athletes Be Paid? Should? Or Should Not? In college sports today there is an occurring issue on whether or not college athletes should be paid to play. This issue has been disputed since the NCAA was established in 1906. These athletes have made money for everybody involved with these schools, but they themselves have made nothing. The main reason these players have not acquired pay is because of the NCAA and their rules and regulations. College athletes should get paid because they are the main source of revenue for colleges. Also they should be paid, because some might be poor or have been injured and they need money to help their lives stay on track. Things may be said like why should students to get paid to get an education. This is not why these athletes should get paid though. They should get paid because the university is making money on their likeness. For most people it makes since that college players do not get paid because they are already on scholarship. But what about the players that are injured, the colleges usually take away their scholarship and players are left with nothing. There are many factors that weigh on this idea but through my views I see no reason why they should not get paid. The issue the NCAA has with players being played to play is numerous but also inadequate. The NCAA created a word to use so that when an opposing group tries to attack them they can strike them down with no worries. The word is, "student– athlete," they have devised this term so that if an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Should College Be College? Every year millions of students make the choice to attend college to further their education and obtain a degree. Many of these students have their own purpose for coming to college, most would assume they come to college to get a degree in order to get a job. Some go to college for other reasons, or a combination of reasons. One's purpose should only be defined by the individual themselves and shouldn't be assigned to them. This goes the same for making the decision to go to college, one should choose whether they want to attend college. When I made the choice to go to college, I had a plenty of reasons why I should go, but didn't have many reasons to not go. The one reason I had that would have changed my decision is most likely a concern for most, the cost of attending college. I looked past that and decided to come to college, and I like many thought my purpose was to go to college just to get a degree. After the first moth of college I learned that I have multiple purposes. Throughout my first month of college, I have learned from many individuals what their purpose is. This made me rethink the reasons why I came to college, and by doing that I came to the conclusion that there is multiple reasons I went to college. My purpose is to not only earn a degree, but to discover who I am, learn about different types of people, learn how the real world works, to mature into a capable adult, and to meet new people. Coaches will take millions of dollars for student athletes to live anywhere they want to and give out full scholarships. It's not fair for college football players that don't do has much school work a normal student would do daily. College athletes and regular students should have the same rules same accountability the school demands (Blackistone 2014). Another big part why college football should be banned is that programs take money from college students that pay for class pay for meals pay everything they do on campus just as student fees and funds and Student athletes get everything for free not have to pull out their own wallets (Bissinger 2012). When college football coaches take millions of dollars they are also making the school more and more expensive for the students that must pay to attended to that university or college there are at (bissinger 2012). College does not land you a good paying job, you end up in deep debt, and it is not worth it for low–income families. College prices are not worth it. • 31. Should College Tuition Be Free For Everyone? Should College Tuition Be Free For Everyone? Dr. Mary C. Clement said it best, when she said, "Teaching is one of the most wonderful, difficult, rewarding, challenging, invigorating, and tiring jobs in the world" (Clement). Teachers and Professors have worked at their profession and job for years. They have gone through extensive training and schooling. Why should the students who take the professors classes at a university, not pay tuition to support the school, and professors that the school hires? In the world we live in today, there is more than one trillion dollars in student loan debt holding down college kids (Cubberly). Being able to pay for college is getting tougher for students straight out of high school, without the help of their parents. In the meantime, middle class and hard working Americans continue to see their hard earned money be given away through taxes. Why should the middle class people be held down by this extra taxation among other things? Higher tax rates, college diplomas would be a minimum requirement, further the entitlement culture, and more money in the rich families pockets are reasons why college tuition should not be free for everyone. First, free college for everyone would result in more money for the rich college kids' family, who would already have enough money for college. At age nineteen under 20 percent of kids in the poorest 2 percent of families in the country attend college (Bruenig). Those kids have many reasons, including that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Is College For Everyone? Nowadays, seniors students in high school are qualified to graduate and peregrinate to college to get a degree for their future jobs. There is an author, Pharinet, who verbally expresses that, "That there are too many students enrolled in school who simply don't belong there" (680). Pharinet says that in her article, "Is College for Everyone?" She argues that college is not for everyone and that students should think deeply afore enrolling. She claims that students who are not academically ready and financially stable are the most mundane in college. Pharinet commences her credibility (ethos), logically (logos), and emotionally (pathos) with broad facts and statistics, a real–life situation, and word of mouth on why college is not for everyone. In Pharinet's article, she first states that students who are inclined to peregrinate to college are due to jobs that require a degree or simply because your parent pressure you to go. If a student decides to peregrinate to college, a great deal of them does go. She perpetuates by discussing that, "There are too many students enrolled in school who simply don't belong there... approximately 50% of students who begin college never graduate"(680). She states that if a student goes to college, they will have a "50/50" or a "do or die" of getting a degree. From her perspective, why peregrinate to college if the approval rate is fifty percent (which it is not a good rate)? A possible solution to this percentage, Pharinet suggest that ... One of the reasons why people believe that college tuition shouldn't be free is because taxes and fees will be increased. "Many students can afford to pay a considerable amount toward their higher education. "It is wasteful to give them a free ride." Eric Maskin explains. Just because some students can't pay their college tuition doesn't mean everyone can't therefore there is no need for college tuition to be free. College loans are often the first major financial dealing that people work with. Paying them off in a timely manner proves you know how to budget your money, skills people use again and again when buying cars or houses. Without having to pay for school, that experience won't exist, which might be trouble down the road for buying that house or car. In reason to college shouldn't be free because college might not seem as important and private schools may have to be closed. If college becomes free for students, colleges will attract more young people who are not suited for college and more students will major in fields with little or no market value. Students may skip class or not try their hardest of the fact that they don't need to "get their cash's worth" when they aren't paying for anything. "As enrollment at public schools increases, so do the fees. Either more money would have to be given to the schools, or they would have to create waitlists. Free tuition would be great, but free tuition would mean the government would have to pay. Instead of students paying for tuition, tax payers would be paying, so technically the federal government does not pay for free tuition. College should not be completely free because college is a privilege not a right, taxes would go up, and previous students would want to be paid back. Our whole lives we are told education is the most important thing. We are told we must go to college in order to be successful. These are the expectations people have of us. After we graduate High School we are expected to go to college. College is supposed to be the goal that everyone wants to achieve. College is an institution of higher learning where you gain life skills and skills that help you to be the best in whichever career you choose. If this is the case then why have college enrollment rates decreased over the years. According to Alia Wong, the percentage of high–school graduates who immediately enrolled in college fell from 69 percent in 2008 to 66 percent in 2013 and continues to decrease. If college is supposed to better your life why do so many high school students decide not to go? Many different factors could influence a person 's decision to go or not to go to college. • 45. Why Do We Need The Electoral College I believe that we don't need the Electoral College for multiple reasons. One of the reasons have to do with technology and another reason has to do with power. There are more reasons as well. While I believe that we don't need the Electoral College, if we go with the popular vote then we could run into issues like the candidates won't actually get more than half of America's vote. The first reason that I think that we should go with the popular vote is that while the people back then needed the Electoral College, we don't anymore. Since we have modern technology, we can be informed by searching the candidates' views. Another evidence that we are informed is that there has only been five times where the popular vote would have given a different president than what the Electoral college would have picked. That means that the citizens of America are about as informed as the people in the Electoral college. The second reason that we should have the people vote instead of the Electoral college is that the people who aren't part of the Electoral College don't have a say in who our president will be. The only people who actually have a say is the people involved in the electoral college and that is only 538 people. There are more than 300 million people who should actually get to choose. What this means is that when college graduates are ready to work, they will not have many employment opportunities due to the limited amount of jobs. "Progress is impossible without change, those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything" – George Bernard Shaw. Without effort or trying something new you will get nowhere. Education should definitely not be free but it should be less than what it is now. College should not be free. I believe college should not be free because we would have all kinds of people in classes that probably should not be there. I feel that we would have so many people in college that shouldn't be in college and just don't care about it. It hurts me to say that college is just not for some people. If there was not cost for education, that would be an open door for people who are only looking for a place to mess around. Plus what would the teachers get paid for teaching or just getting annoyed with the kids who don't want to pay attention. • 51. The Importance Of Education Why do students continue to enter a college education system that is no longer focusing on them? The education system was built to serve the interest of the public, to provide opportunities for people to further their education and move up or maintain their social classes, and to teach people to think for themselves. All of the authors Menand, Roth, and Couturier all agree that education is threatened by the fact that colleges are focusing more on their private affairs instead of the students. They believe college should be focused on the student and their ability to think on their own and "enhance their capabilities" (Roth 2). Rose–Hulman does this well by challenging their students with a hard curriculum, but at the same time they are willing to give them plenty of opportunities to find success with smaller class sizes and a student friendly environment. Michael Roth believes that people aremore than just "human capital" for society; he thinks that everyone should be able to find significance in their lives and work (3). In his essay "Learning as Freedom, by he discusses why education should be more than just learning how to do a skill; John Dewey said, it should be about "enhancing our capabilities" (2). He describes how everyone has their role is society and that not everyone can be a leader, but Roth quotes Dewey saying, "–the great thing for one as for the other is that each shall have had the education which enables him to see within his daily work all there is in it ... • 53. Persuasive Essay : Why College Should Not Go To College Imagine being someone who struggled throughout high school, but is constantly being told they need to go to college. If a student is constantly having problems with their learning, thinking, money, and support, why should they be obligated to continue their education when they are struggling today? The problem today is that people feel like they have no other choice but go to college to be successful. Many people today do not go to college, but get a job and slowly start to become successful. A person can work and gain experience and knowledge, which allows a person to move up. Since there are many jobs today that do not require a college degree, going to college should not be obligated by students after high school. College is not for everyone, and no one should be forced to go. College is not for everyone, nor is it required for a lot of jobs today. A reason that people do not necessarily have to go to college is because most jobs today don't require going to college. Last year, "according to the federal reserve bank of new york, 46 percent of recent college graduates were in jobs that don't even require a college degree." This is saying that majority of those that went to college wasted their time and money for something that was not needed. The more people waste their time, the longer it will take to be successful. This is one example that supports why college is not necessary. Another reason why college isn't for everyone is because of how expensive it is. Today, to get a even a four year degree, you pay a lot of money. Even though colleges are expensive, not all expensive colleges have the best education. "The biggest frauds are for profit colleges that are raking in money even as their students drop out in droves, and whose diplomas are barely worth the ink jets they're printed on." This is saying that people can pay large amounts of money for college, does not mean they will learn anything. People who go through job trainings tend to learn more things quicker than actually going to college. Basically, getting a degree is not only pointless for jobs today, but can also be very expensive and useless to go to. College is very much worth it. Many times people have debated on wether to go to college or just stay as a high school graduate. But i'm here to prove that college is worth it because you get paid more, earn responsibility, and you get health insurance and retirement plans. First, college is more valuable because you get paid more. According to "Pro&Con Arguments" it states, " on average, a college graduate with a bachelor degree earned $30,000 more per year than a high school graduate, over $500,000 more over an year." Getting an education gets you money and it's important to go to college because if you don't go to college you are more likely to never gain responsibility for anything you do in life.
