10 Common Mistakes when Using Social Media to Grow Your...
10 common mistakes when using Social Media to grow your business I am hoping that by now you will
have already started to wake up to the idea of using social media to grow your business. In this day and age
it is absolutely vital that you do so. You will be surprised at just how much extra custom you can gain just
by making a couple of status updates every day or so. Before you jump into the world of social media
however, you would be wise to read this list. Let me introduce you to ten of the most common mistakes
people make when they use social media. 1. Only Focusing on Facebook: This is the WORST mistake you
can make. Sure, it is the largest social media network in the world, but if you are looking for the most SEO
juice and to really drive that traffic to your site then you WILL have to use other social media networks.
This includes sites such as Twitter. Do not be on too many though (2 or 3 is suffice). Too many social
media sites and you will spread yourself thin. The result is that you will not be able to focus on anything
properly. 2. Not Marketing Enough on Your Own Website: It is VITAL that you have social media buttons
on your website. This includes links to your social media profiles AND links to allow people to share your
content. 3. No SEO: One of the main reasons as to why you want to use social media is for SEO purposes.
Surprisingly very few people actually ensure that their social media pages are SEO'ed. If you do not know
how to go about this then DO

The Effects Of Digital Etiquette In The Digital Age
Digital etiquette is a modern variation of the old adage "treat others the way you want to be treated"
(Behrens, n.d.) . This is an important yet difficult lesson to teach children in the digital age because they
spend less time participating in face–to–face encounters and more time behind a screen. In fact children
ages 8–18 spend approximately 7.5 hours using technology and social media (New Research, 2014). What
makes this lesson so difficult is the fact that because children spend so much time behind a screen
interacting with people, they spend less time reading people's emotions and seeing how their words affect
other people. In fact, many adults struggle to come to this realization as well. Based on my own personal
experience on social media, many adults still react to situations they come across online emotionally and
do not necessarily think about what they are posting and how their words affect the people that are reading
them. This is evident with the amount of arguments that occur mostly in the comment section on social
media. In fact, social media is an excellent source of poor digital etiquette with all of the fights, swearing,
and belittling of others that occurs on these platforms (Digital Etiquette, 2008). This is largely because of
the misinterpretations that can happen when communicating digitally verses communicating face to face. It
is difficult to interpret the context from which someone is speaking. It is essential that adults slow down

Social Media Has An Inopportune Impact On Society
Technology has been improving yearly and has now become part of many people's life. Humans have
become dependent on technology for many things like to communicate, to learn, to create things, to
advertise, the list is endless. Access to the internet has become easier even in underdeveloped countries.
This means that almost anyone can post, share, comment, and do many different functions that social
media allows to do.
Considering that technology is easy to access and that people depend on it, it is almost impossible to not
have a controversial conversation over it. Some people believe that posting on social media has an
inopportune impact on society. However, there are a lot of positive impacts social media has on society.
Social media bring people together and helps society in a lot of ways. Posting to social media comes with
responsibilities since what is posted could not be taken lightly by someone else however, there should be
no fear in posting since the freedom to do so is there for the taking and can benefit in many ways. First and
foremost, social media was made to share ideas. In order to share ideas a way for things to be published
and seen by others had to be created. Social media is defined as "the ability to use the internet to share and
communicate instantly with others" (historycooperative.org). The developers of social media applications
such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and many more, found a way to make this possible. In

Social Media Reflection
Social media is a medium in which people post about whatever they deem necessary. According to Sherry
Turkle's book Alone Together, a vast majority of teens also use it to create a name for themselves and to
pretend to be someone else; someone they want to be. However, in analyzing my social media, it was very
difficult to find any trace of what kind of character I was attempting to portray. One similarity that I can see
between Turkle's analysis of social media and my personal account is that my account does portray a type
of person that I aspire to be. Online, I am in some unconscious way making a name for myself, but the
problem arises when there are no differences between my social media self and my real self. Online I
portray myself as a chill, relaxed person and my Facebook reflects that very well. I am not here to impress
anybody and I do not share anything for any other reason besides the fact that I enjoyed that thing. I post
when I feel I need to yet looking deeper into my likes and shares there are some small, significant patterns
between what I like and how it affects my image. Analyzing my social media account, I found that I
generally use a calm, realistic tone to give the impression that I am a real relaxed, dust–in–the–wind kind
of guy. I don't care to change my profile picture and haven't changed it since 8th grade. Even most of what
I like and/or share has no specific agenda, it's just simply what I find interesting or funny. On top of that, I
haven't even shared anything in about ten months and the only things I like are things that my family shares
with me or tags me in. I have not physically posted an update of my life or anything in five years only
because I don't feel the need to. For example, the last text post that I made was on my birthday in 2013,
when I thanked everyone who wished me a happy birthday. Even reading through my "recent" shares, I've
come to realize that I do not intend to portray myself in any different way other than what I am. The last
thing that I shared was a video of a cat I thought my sister would find amusing (which she did). On
Facebook, I give off the impression that I am a very laid–back person and that is truly how I act. Just
looking at my activity, it

Should College Athletes Have Unrestricted Freedom
1. Should athletes have unrestricted freedom of speech on social media sites? Why or why not?
I do not believe that athletes should have unrestricted freedom of speech on social media. I understand that
as an 18 – 22–year–old, you are considered an adult. You can make your own decisions on what you would
want to post or not post. However, these students are now not only representing themselves, but also the
university and their basketball program. If a student athlete posts something like Buck Burnette did on
Facebook about President Obama, the repercussions are headed to the university as well as the student.
Although they are adults, college students are not as matured yet so keeping some restriction is
understandable. Also, it could help ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What ethical duties should college athletes think about while they are using social media? Are these
different from the ethical ways non–athletes should use social media? Would you be able to write (and
justify) an "Athlete's Code of Ethics" for Tweeting or using Facebook?
As a college athlete, there are definitely ethical duties that must be held regarding social media that non–
athletes do not have to follow by. As a student athlete, you are being watched by so many people, and you
are a key representative for the university and the city you are in. The children, adults, and possible future
recruits are following these college athletes on social media and are role models for these individuals. As a
college athlete you are under a microscope and it is their responsibility to make sure not to do anything
inappropriate. As a non–athlete, you do not have those responsibilities as well as not have the
responsibilities with representing the program or university, stated in previous questions. Ethical duties
should still be there for non–athletes, but the consequences are worse for all parties when an athlete does

Effects Of Social Media Essay
Social media has changed over the last thirty years and its affected us in many ways. Social media, along
with any other internet source, is used for lots of different things and it has impacted our lives drastically.
Social media is harmful for us because it changes who we are, influences us negatively, and may cause
mental pain and to some extent physical pain too. Everyone in the world today is using social media for
one thing...entertainment. We all see a bunch of post about what people are doing to make their lives fun.
So, in our right minds we think since someone else is doing it and seems to be having a good time then it
must be cool and we must try it out also. Seeing ads, post, or comments changes who we are slowly ...

Teens will see this most often than any other age group there is. A NEWSELA article states that too much
use of social media can lead to anxiety, depression and decreased relationship skills. Also that a study
found social media can be more addictive than cigarettes and alcohol for some people. Another study by
the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health found that depression had increased dramatically
among teens, particularly among girls. The authors believe cyberbullying may be playing a role. When
someone says they are being mentally affected by social media then we would think they are being
cyberbullied and we try to help them; but if they said they were being physically affected by social media
what does that really mean? "Teenagers are already self–conscious and easily affected by what others say,"
said Dr. Pate. When kids are already self–conscious about themselves then obviously cyberbullying is not
helping them much either. There are kids online who like to find reasons to just make people feel bad about
themselves. When someone is being bullied online they are affected in thousands of ways. Teenagers will
go past the point of bullying someone online to make the victim hurt themselves. When a child is being
hurt so bad to make them to this to themselves then the problem needs to be handled as soon as possible.

What started out as a fairly simple, easy to use photo sharing app used by a small group of people has
exploded into a global community of over 300 million active users. An amazing 70 million photos and
videos a day are now shared on Instagram by both consumers and brands.
With that many users and activity it not surprising that Instagram is been used daily by savvy marketers to
build brand awareness and drive targeted traffic to their websites.
Brand engagements on Instagram are actually higher than any other social platform including Facebook

Have a strategy – The photos and video content you add to Instgram should be a reflection of your brand.
Ensure your content expresses a clearly defined personality and voice and that it is engaging to your
followers.
Make Use Of Hashtags
7. Be sure to include hashtags – Hashtags on Instagram are an important way to increase the reach of the
content you post. You can use either existing hashtags that your community is already using to reach more
people or even create new hashtags that could benefit your overall social media strategy.
8. Make use of brand specific hashtags – it is a good idea to make a hashtag from your business name.
Also, using unique tags for specific marketing campaigns you run. For instance, if you are running a photo
contest on Instagram, make a unique tag just for that campaign. This hashtag promotes not only your
contest but allows other Instagram users to connect with other participants in the competition
Here is how Coca Cola recently used a specific hashtag to engage with their instagram community.

8. Include general hashtags – Using general hashtags will open your brand up to a larger audience who
follow specific products or lifestyle content on Instagram. So for example if your business is a flower shop,

Social Media And Its Impact On Society
For many of us, social media has become an important way to keep up with what is going on with our
families as well as what is happening in the world around us. In the past ten years, social media has also
become a major staple in marketing for businesses because there has been a whirlwind of development. In
2006, Facebook was opened to the public and Twitter was launched. Not long after, Facebook surpassed
MySpace's user count and Barack Obama became out first "Social Media" President. In 2010, Twitter
launched the ability to post sponsored tweets, with Instagram following in 2013.
We often view social media as just a place to do social networking, but for businesses it is a much different
animal. Facebook became an avenue for new user engagement tactics by companies looking to expand
their customer base. (What We Learned About Marketing in the Last Decade of Social Media Evolution",
n.d) Marketing is key to any business's success. With the greater use of mobile technology (cell phones and
tablets), businesses had to be able to adapt their advertising to display on mobile devices.
While anyone can use social media in relation to their business, there is a certain protocol that should be
followed. Businesses should not limit themselves to posting promotional content only. This can lead to the
downfall of their social media presence. Consumers want engagement that goes beyond promotional
information. Another important aspect of successful social media engagement is posting

Media In Social Media
With the discovery of technology, social media soon followed and became the next worldwide
phenomenon, and the newfound freedom in posting whatever you want at any time of the day has changed
social media to be a tool for multiple aspects of life. Through social media people are able to freely post
their opinions about any topic at any time of the day. This freedom can be a bad thing when it is taken
advantage of, but it can also be used as a tool for different people such as; businesses, authors, and
politicians. Although people's opinions may be irrelevant in some situations, it can be used as a tool to
better the quality of customer service or other departments in a business that could be improved. As social
media is becoming one of the most popular things in the world, businesses are taking advantage of it and
are using it for reviews, advertising, and other marketing strategies. Through their social media accounts,
business are able to read their reviews, and through this feedback they are able to better their company.
Now everyone will have contradicting opinions about a business but that is because everyone is not getting
the same service. For instance Bergstrom Automotive uses their Facebook to better their companies service
to their guests. A guest by the name of Katie Brands posted "Have bought more than one car from them
over the years and have serviced all cars here...Always an honest business with excellent customer Care
love them."' (Bergstrom Automotive

Disadvantages Of Social Media
Social media is basically applicable internet apps that allow users to create their own media and interact
with others while online. It takes many ways of media to use social media. For instance, Snapchat uses
filters to make a picture something different. Facebook provides boards on which users post videos, photos,
and websites. YouTube allows people to upload videos of their own on their own online pages. Facebook
also has Messenger, a place where Facebook users can message each other freely. This is not always a good
things. It sometimes makes it easier for cyberbullying and mean posts.
2. Some of the most popular social media platforms at the time are Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube,
and Instagram. Many people go online at least one of these platforms at least 1–2 times a day, just to post
or check in on friends. Some use social media to hide behind when they post mean things. They would
never say it to the person in real lifee but social media gives them a strange kind of bravery. 81% of the
USA is online and using social media daily or weekly according to a statistic chart of American users.
There are almost 1.96 billion users worldwide so about 1/7 of the world is online and posting every day.
3. The average age restriction for most social media platforms is around 15. For Facebook, Instagram,
Pinterest, Twitter, Snapchat, and Tumblr, the age restriction is 13. For Yik Yak, Vine, and Tinder, you have
to be 17. YouTube says 17 but many younger kids get online using their parents' permission. 52% of kids
have ignored the age restriction and found a way to get on social media platforms like Facebook even if
they are under the age limit. Age limits are often there for your safety though. In 1998, a law was passed to
protect kids on the internet who were under 13. Websites had to ask permission of the parents before asking
for personal information. Online stores were not allowed to gain addresses from anyone under 13. But
children sometimes put in fake birthdates to make it seem as if they were older to gain more from the
internet, such as game cheat codes and cool toys. Now kids are not always as safe on the internet as they
used to be.
4. One positive of social media is that it can be used as a

Artifact Three : An Educator For Rural Cancer Centres Essay
Artifact Three Artifact three was obtained through weeks 10–13, which consisted of two units. The artifact
to analyze is presented as follows: "Hi! This is a very interesting topic, as I have used telehealth many
times. As an educator for rural cancer centres, I do not have the ability to meet with the staff face–to–face,
so telehealth is often used. I have found it can be more difficult to engage others in telehealth occasionally.
With FTF interactions, people are more willing to respond to questions. I have been trying to start out by
saying I acknowledge it is more difficult for some with telehealth, but I highly value everyone's thoughts. I
warn them that I will be asking many questions, and if I don't have any answers, I will call on each of
them, and to keep the remote in their hands to unmute. I don't know if it is the group I have in orientation
now, or the change in my opening, but I have found much more participation than in past sessions. I haven't
personally used it for patient care, but many of my navigators have, and there is one team in CancerControl
who is thriving with the use of telehealth. Our pain and symptom clinic is based in Edmonton, and they
assist patients with many symptoms and palliation. They have a virtual clinic, where they use telehealth to
provide this service to patients who are unable to go to Edmonton, and it has been so valuable for so many
patients. Looking at the article by Brewster, Mountain, Wessels, Kelly, & Hawley

Exemplary Original Post 24 points: This is a wonderful post. Not only did you address all the discussion
prompt questions but the Original Post was well organized and had rich detail. I especially liked "Its known
that many pharaohs and high ranking officials would sometime have their servants depicted in some form
of image or sculpture so that when they went to the afterlife they would able to utilize their skills to help
them in their second life". This post shows that you understand the material and can synthesize the
information well. I will caution against something like "the Seated Scribe was royal" as this might be a bit
of a stretch. He would most certainly be part of the government working under the king or visar of Egypt,
but be a scribe would not be a typical job for a royal. There could be many reasons he was shown in this
position. Also, given that there is a lot more information to confirm he was indeed a script and, therefore,
an important part of the government over being a royal. Also, I would like to see more of the post in your
words instead of quotes, since I want to see how you would state something and your thoughts.

Facebook And Twitter Compare And Contrast
Compare and contrast two types of social media, e.g. Twitter and Facebook

Social media is by far the most modern electronic communication platform to emerge out of this Internet
era. Within this class of new–age social tools stand two effective, yet extremely unique applications –
Facebook and Twitter. Facebook offers a network to re–connect or create connections with previous and
new people in a person's life whereas Twitter offers a platform where people can connect with individuals
or celebrities based on common interests. Facebook is a progressive chronological log of a user's life
stories while Twitter gives a more on–the–go expression of a person's current involvement or interests.

Twitter boasts its signature "tweet" which is a short (140 characters), to the point, mini–blog of what a
person is currently experiencing. Tweets are usually posted in real–time, meaning, as it is happening.
People use this approach to effectively communicate to other similarly inclined individuals, matters of
interest as they are unfolding. Celebrities also utilize this tool to keep their fans abreast of their day–to–day
activities. Tweeting is often employed before movie and TV show launches to help build the momentum
and keep people interested. Twitter also gave birth to the widely used #Hashtag system for accessing and
grouping items in a related topic. Facebook posts serve a different function. Where twitter applies a limit to
the number of characters allowed, Facebook gives the user that freedom to upload lengthy posts. In this
regard, the post risks being time consuming for both the writer and reader. However, it lets the user express
more clearly what he or she wants to say without appearing too curt or

communication, people have been using it to communicate with each other, and not only that but they are
posting various things on social media as well. 1 Twitter and Facebook are one of the most popular social
media which are used by most of the people. It has been widely popular that even celebrities and politician
uses them on a regular basis. The only difference between normal people using a social media and
celebrities or politician using a social media is that the politician or celebrities have to be more careful
while posting their thoughts. They are the famous people in the society and are followed by most people.
Their posts are been looked upon by thousands of people and are criticized as well. If one's post something
that is very unacceptable or offending than his/her reputation is going to fall way beyond the line. As they
are represented as the successful person in the society, they have to be very careful on taking every steps in
their life because people will be watching them every time trying to make a headline. Same goes to the
elected leaders because we have seen them being active on social media where they are talking about
different topics and posting about it.

Argumentative Essay On Social Media
In this age of social media, we are constantly worried about being popular. We are driven by "likes,"
"comments," and "followers." Not caring what our peers thought, our middle school selves posted anything
and everything. Now, as seniors and having had access to social media for an abundance of years, we are
far more cautious about what we post but not in the way you might imagine. Instagram is a resourceful tool
but, if used incorrectly, could impair your social status. Unlike in middle school, we do not want to post too
frequently, too many similar pictures, or too long of a caption. Those who post everyday get a diminishing
amount of likes. The unwritten rules to instagram are simple: once a day, once day a week, and at least
once a month. Occasionally, these rules are allowed to be broken. A couple times a year, posting two days
in a row is permitted, but only in dire circumstances should multiple posts be uploaded in a single day, and
now, with multiple photos per post capabilities, the acceptance for this is even less. Uploading several
posts of pictures taken on the same day and at the same event becomes repetitive. Putting those pictures in
the same post will fix this problem. Adding a caption to the picture also help make your posts different.
Followers will often skip over a caption that is too long and disregard a post with no caption at all, but will
love a one word to two sentence caption. Finding a special occasion to post is the first step to

The Shift from Fordism to Post-Fordism and Possible Future...
The Shift from Fordism to Post–Fordism and Possible Future Routes for Capitalist Organization
Capitalism continues to be a revolutionary form of social organization. Modes of production, the ordering
of daily activities, and the material practices and processes of social reproduction have undergone
numerous changes since capitalism's inception. Mapping a history of capitalism's different stages and
forms – both social and institutional – would be an arduous task, complicated by the fact that in each of
capitalism's stages, features and characteristics of past and future stages abound. Nevertheless, the current
form of capitalism marks a unique departure from previous stages. Euphemisms and catchphrases

In this sense, a regime of accumulation refers to "the stabilization over a long period of the allocation of
the net product between consumption and accumulation; it implies some correspondence between the
transformation of both the conditions of production and the conditions of reproductive wage earners." This
must entail the formation of a knowable and predictable configuration of "norms, habits, laws, regulating
networks and so on that ensure the unity of the process, i.e. the appropriate consistency of individual
behaviors with the schema of reproduction." This task of regulating and ensuring the sustainability of the
regime of accumulation is the mode of social and political regulation.
The regime of accumulation under Fordism relied on the link between mass production and mass
consumption. In order to fuel the cycle of economic activity, wages had to be sufficiently high to support
mass consumption. This mass consumption drove demand and productive activity for firms, which were
afforded profits used to reinvest in productive ventures. This virtuous cycle of cumulative economic
activity was thought to perpetuate itself indefinitely once full employment was realized.
The purpose of the state under Fordism was to stabilize the free market's inherent crisis tendencies. The
obligations of the state in this form of capitalist organization were

Why Is Social Networking Considered Private?
We live in a time when people like to share some of their lives on the Internet. Social networking has been
a popular activity most teenagers and adults in their daily life. It is a daily life routine for some people,
whether it is interacting with friends, sharing pictures or thoughts and even advertising a certain business
such as a bakery or a salon. Some popular social networking platforms include Twitter, Instagram,
Snapchat, and Facebook. On a platform such as Facebook, anything can be shared such as pictures and
statuses and you and your friends can see them. Posting things online so that it can only be seen by you or
your friends is not considered private. It isn't considered private because if you were to have your page
public, many other people you don't know have access to your profile and see what you post. Hackers are
another reason your profile isn't considered private. There have been different cases in which so many
people are getting hacked nowadays. People realize that online networking can enable to land a position,
yet not every person understands that it can be justification for losing one, as well. With your Facebook
profile being set to a public setting, everyone that isn't on your friends list can see your posts. Some people
not realize it and are just careless on what they post. Meaning that you can go on somebody's profile and
see anything from their posts, picture, and even information such as birthdays or email addresses. All of

An important corollary of these developments is that as style becomes central in product differentiation, it
is necessary for styles to change rapidly. What has been described as the essentially postmodern practice of
pastiche is an outgrowth of these marketing and economic changes, in which capital recycles old styles in a
desperate attempt to create products that seem "new and improved." As the commodity becomes even more
divorced from use–or exchange–value, it becomes a sign, able to be given a variety of possible and
mutable meanings depending on the particular market segment. Price fluctuates not according to actual
production costs but according to how much a particular consumer will pay. Cultural intermediaries, or
those members of the professional–managerial class that work in cultural industries such as advertising or
public relations, serve as cultural guides for the middle class, helping these consumers navigate the array of
potential commodities available for consumption and offering their lifestyles as models of how to live
successfully in this new world of constant consumption.

Capitalism is a political, social and economic system subject to periodic instability, change and the like

Fordism was prevalent in car manufacturing industry; albeit, its principles were exported around the world

The Negative Effects Of Social Media
Peter Drucker is best known for being the Father of Modern Management, as well as being the author of
several books and articles about innovation, entrepreneurship and strategies for dealing with the world.
Drucker once said, "The most important thing in communication is hearing what isn't said" (Drucker).
Social Media has an had enormous effect on the world today. Everyday people are posting cruel comments
and inappropriate posts about others without thinking about the effect it can have on that person. Although
these sites provide us with easier ways of connecting with the world, they also have a negative impact on
how people can view themselves. Social media sites such as, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram cause
negativity all over the world today.
Facebook was created on February 4, 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg, a nineteen year old Harvard University
student. When creating the site, Zuckerberg only allowed Harvard students to create an account, but
overtime he made it available to other colleges around the world. Social media can affect a person's life in
a negative way, and comes to the point where it begins to hurt other's. When Zuckerberg created the site, he
used it to rank girls, not only at Harvard, but at other Universities as well. When people joined the site,
they wanted to be apart of a site where they could post pictures about the activities they participate in.

The Current Epidemic Facing Society Essay
#Sorry Not Sorry – The Current Epidemic Facing Society: Not–Stop–Negativity Let us flashback to 1994
for a moment. The Internet was new and only in some homes and workplaces. Cellphones were the size of
handbags and could only make calls– sometimes. Most people only had one phone line in their homes.
People went to the library to research and learn, or they consulted an expert. Most tuned into the radio or
local television stations once or twice a day to hear the news, or they read about it in the newspaper or
magazines while they drank their morning coffee. Now, flash forward to today. We have everything we had
twenty years ago and more, but it is all faster, easier to access, global, and is in most of our hands within
one device. Is this better or worse? Well, let me ask you this, "How do you feel, and what was the last thing
you read or saw on your phone, tablet, or computer? It was not something positive was it? Our current
advances in technology have resulted with a boom of popularity of social media and access to the Internet
for daily communication and is resulting in a larger dose, and harder to avoid, spread of intercontinental
negativity, and, it is becoming the social norm. Unfortunately, we like it. #sorrynotsorry "If you don't have
anything nice to say; then it 's best to not say anything at all." We have all heard this before from our
parents or teachers, however do we still practice it today? Maybe face–to–face we do, but one huge effect

Fordism Essay
Has a new system of production and consumption replaced Fordism?
Named after American industrialist Henry Ford, Fordism is essentially a modern socio–economic system
designed on the bases of industrial mass production in the 20th century. There are many aspects of Fordism
in terms of its social and economic organisation, such as the relation to production line techniques, the
nature and pattern of consumption, and overall state regulation. This essay will firstly outline the three
major characteristics of Fordism; the standardisation of goods produced, the synchronisation of assembly
line workers, and the concept of how higher waged workers are able to afford the goods they produce.
Moreover, the 21st century patterns of production, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This synthesised, scientifically managed workflow was meant to improve labour productivity and
economic efficiency. And thirdly, rather than having machinery at the centre of the factory and workers
moving to and from the product, assembly lines were used. This meant that the workers remained
stationary and the product simply flowed past them (Murray, 1989). They were essentially treated as robots
and dictated by machines; operating to the duplicated, repetitive tasks daily and not given the opportunity
to express potential for advancement or improvement.
This wave of protest led to the establishment of a new type of management, which was believed to help
workers integrate into the capitalist system, known as Post–Fordism (Dicken, 2003). Beginning in the late
20th century, Post–Fordism is characterised by any different attributes, such as smaller batched production,
specialized products and jobs, new–age technologies, the rise of service and feminization in the work force,
and the emphasis on consumer niche markets, as opposed to simply considering social class (Allen, 1992).
However, due to limited wording, three main characteristics of Post–Fordism will be exclusively discussed;
consumer sovereignty, the fragmentation of careers, and globalization in terms of the interactivity and
future opportunities it encompasses.
The dominance and triumph of the consumer demand have become an epidemic. Consumers

The Digital World Is Affecting Today 's Youth
Sandra Boyd analyzes how nearly ubiquitous access to the digital world is affecting today's youth in It 's
Complicated. She explains how the "app generation" is struggling to self–identify and successfully
leverage the Internet to be "app enabled." Youth's "app dependency" is a result of access to digital
technology and social media at an early age, and is preventing youth from properly self–identifying
themselves. This, in turn, is affecting how they build relationships and how they think creatively. The
online community our group has decided to look into is the PCMasterRace subreddit. This subreddit is a
community of PC gamers sharing information about computer hardware, post creative and visually
appealing computer configurations (called "builds" or "rigs") and post satirical or funny pictures about
trending topics. Reddit provides a platform for people with unique special interests (i.e. PC's) to
communicate and collaborate; it is a place where relationships have the opportunity to be built and where
creative ideas can be expressed openly.
Recently, a major topic of this subreddit has been to "help console peasants ascend" to the ranks of the PC
Master Race. Console peasants often deny that PCs outrank consoles in terms of performance and ability
when gaming and respond to PCMasterRace commentary by posting nonsense, making claims that playing
at suboptimal graphics settings on their consoles make for a better atmosphere and an overall superior
gaming experience.

Nike 's Recent `` Equality Campaign `` Commercial Of A...
This essay seeks to analyze Nike's recent "equality campaign" commercial that was released in February
2017. Nike, the American sports brand giant who makes up 31% of the athletic footwear market (Keady,
2011), has been noted for creating political statements alongside the consumer goods that they produce. As
seen in the short black and white filmed advertisement, famous American athletes Lebron James, Megan
Rapinoe, Kevin Durant, and Serena Williams are depicted standing up against social inequalities
experienced by racial minorities and other marginalized groups; other marginalized groups include those
such as the LGBT community as represented by soccer star Megan Rapinoe. The basic idea behind the
piece is to illustrate that if equality ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As seen with the Nike "equality campaign" commercial, Nike is calling for those who buy their products to
almost break through the current social boundaries and to move "past these lines." The quote of moving
"past these lines" aids in furthering the post–Fordist concept of uniqueness as it almost encourages one to
think outside the box and to be different by going against societal limitations and norms while in hopes of
striving for equality; it gives a sense of inspiration to those who witness the commercial. Nike is
commanding for not only their consumer base, but all those who view this ad to be active in fighting for
equality for all races and other minority groups. Nike believes this idea starts with "you," and not by those
who are atop the social hierarchy like those in governmental positions; taking a bottom to top approach.
This idea exemplified by Nike gives the consumer a stronger feeling of empowerment within the world in
which they live. The idea of individual self–control and power is further highlighted through the quote by
the narrator, Michael B. Jordan, who states "here you're defined by your actions." In this instance, each
individual in society is considered for being responsible for change. Nike's willingness of taking into
account the various people who make up society is shown

Informative Essay On Windshields
The Drive shared, "It wasn't until the late 1920s that safety glass, windshields, were introduced. After the

In 2003 Chris Loberg started Loberg's Auto Glass and Repair and continues this profession now in 2016.
He said, "I chose to pursue auto glass because I have worked on cars in some way my whole life. Auto

Advantages Of Backlash From Social Media Usage
Backlash from Social Media Usage
The technology that is social media can be used for many good purposes, but you should always remember
to not post "prejudice/racist comments, not to share confidential information and stay away from
idiotic/rude comments" (Newstex. 2015) while you are on the job.
Introduction
Getting backlash from your social media usage is a scare for a lot of people in this age of technology.
Whether you run your company's social media or not, having to make sure you follow the proper
guidelines of not posting prejudice or racist comments, not sharing confidential information and stay away
from any idiotic or rude comments while you are on the job. Not following these rules will lead to
termination and defamation of the company! Especially in this age where prejudice or racism has no room
in our society.
Prejudice / Racism
Posting racist, sexist, or offensive comments could make other people see the company that the person
works for in a different light and cost them their business. A business wants to bring in a target audience.
This could include all nationalities, sexes, religions, or handicapped people. Posting offensive content that
might possibly be targeted toward anyone is not good for you or the company and should be avoided at all
costs. "Back in 2013, PR rep Justine Sacco tweeted an insensitive comment about AIDS just before getting

Social Media And Its Effect On Society
Technology is rapidly advancing, and in today's day in age, social media is integrated into the majority of
people's everyday lives. Individuals should take into consideration their professional persona when it
comes to social media, due to the fact that it will be beneficial for them and any future companies they are
involved with. Take for example the incident that occurred over Twitter with American Red Cross. The
company recently tweeted out an inappropriate tweet saying, "Ryan found two more four bottle packs of
Dogfish Head's Midas Touch beer... when we drink we do it right #gettingslizzard." (Huffington Post
2011). Now instead of dealing with the backlash and negativity that emerged from the tweet, the company
was thankfully able to turn it around and even launched a blood for beer campaign that gave beer to people
who donated blood. Not all companies are able to turn around and save their reputation like American Red
Cross however, and it is important to make sure what you post on the internet will not get you in hot water.
Taking into account that technology is forever, and once something is posted, it is out there. People think
that they are safe and have the ability to simply delete any data that can hurt their reputation, but it is never
really gone. In order to prevent any future conflicts, it is best if people really think about and make the
right decision on if what they are posting online is necessary or appropriate. According to the Harvard

Is The Robbery Occurred? Essay
In the beginning of October, reality star Kim Kardashian was held hostage in her Paris hotel room and
robbed of most of her jewelry and valuables. Prior to the horrible incident, she posted many different things
on social media that the robbers probably used to their advantage. On Snapchat, she flashed her multi–
million dollar jewelry on the camera, exposed to millions of her followers. Right before the robbery
happened, viewers were aware that she was alone in her hotel room when she posted a video of her
congratulating her younger brother through iPhone Facetime. According to CNN, the police has suggested
that Kardashian's prolific social posting about her life and wealth may have attracted the robbers in the
multi–million dollar heist. Even though there are many other possibilities as to why the robbery occurred, it
is still a valid example of why you should be more reserved on what you post on your social media
platforms. Since the popularity of having multiple social media accounts has increased, it is crucial that we
are more aware of what we post on social media. Since people are widely using social networks to display
a lot of their personal information and give access to potential bullies, future jobs/colleges, or even
potential criminals, precautions and social awareness as well as media moderation should be constructed so
we can take away the harmful stigmas surrounding its use.

I 'm A Social ( Network ) Drinker
Your identity is something that reflects your background and culture, and shows who you are. It's
something that is always changing as you meet new people, move to new places, or simply could just
change out of the blue. In the article "I'm a Social (network) Drinker: Alcohol– Related Facebook Posts,
Drinking Identity, and Alcohol Use, the authors looked at the associations between social media and
alcohol use and how they affect our identity. Because we are all human,we are all trying to be accepted by
society, which causes people to shape their identities to the certain situation.
Drinking identity is a concept that I was rather unfamiliar with until this article. It is defined in this study
as " a component of identity that is associated with heavier drinking and more negative alcohol– related
consequences"(107). Drinking identity is basically how alcohol affects your way of living. Everyone's
drinking identities are different because it is based on how much we drink, what we drink, how often, etc.
Drinking identity is used in this study to determine if people with higher drinking identities post more on
social media, or are more open with their drinking, whereas people with lower drinking identities would
post less.
The authors started this study off by getting access to 109 undergraduate students, dominantly female, who
were all pulled from their psychology class and offered credit for doing this experiment. The study page

Our Social Lives Remo Analysis
When Did Lives on Social Media Become More Time–Consuming than Our Social Lives by Jessica Remo
argues that what people post social media is not portraying the truth to their daily lives. Social media
allows the individual to post a picture, video, status, and edit these to make it seem like their lives are
better than others. "Social media allows the user to create their own TV channel and make their lives seem
better than they really are," (Remo). In addition to portraying a fake live, these posts have negative impacts
on the viewers. With 92 percent of those between 18 and 29, and 73 percent of people in their 30's and 40's
using social media, this gives each individual the ability to control their image, and people's impression of

She provides the example of Scott Schroeder, a chef, who had a hard time selling one item on his menu,

esteem loss based upon other people's posts.
With the information provided, along with the diction Jessica Remo uses, it clearly demonstrates that she is
opposed to social media, and believes that social media has negatives effects on others and that people only
post what they want others to see. It is true, that many people become upset when viewing other profiles,
for an example seeing your friends at a party that you were not invited to. Her viewpoint is clearly

Instagram : A Social Media Platforms For The Key 18-49...
Instagram Review
Instagram ranks as one of the most popular social media platforms for the key 18–49 demographic that
generally ranks as the most lucrative segment of the population for restaurants to target with advertising
and promotions. Setting up an Instagram account for your restaurant generates free advertising because
members can search for your video and photo posts and share them with friends. You can tell your
restaurant's story with compelling visual images and limited verbiage in captions.
Social networking on sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram provides a forum where your customers
can interact with your brand. Instagram provides a convenient app for posting photos and videos of your
restaurant and its food, and you can get a lot of promotional headway if you post high–quality material that
's interesting, relevant and timely. Restaurants can ask customers to help them name new menu items, host
photo contests and challenges and share Instagram photos in other social outlets and Internet sites. Other
promotional possibilities include providing videos on how to cook, demonstrating preparation techniques
for popular restaurant dishes and revealing behind–the–scenes drama and action in your restaurant.
Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, didn 't monetize its site completely until the fall of 2015.
Restaurants can now supplement their generic promotional efforts with paid advertising that targets
customers as precisely as Facebook advertising does.

10 Common Mistakes Social Media Business Growth

  • 1. 10 Common Mistakes when Using Social Media to Grow Your... 10 common mistakes when using Social Media to grow your business I am hoping that by now you will have already started to wake up to the idea of using social media to grow your business. In this day and age it is absolutely vital that you do so. You will be surprised at just how much extra custom you can gain just by making a couple of status updates every day or so. Before you jump into the world of social media however, you would be wise to read this list. Let me introduce you to ten of the most common mistakes people make when they use social media. 1. Only Focusing on Facebook: This is the WORST mistake you can make. Sure, it is the largest social media network in the world, but if you are looking for the most SEO juice and to really drive that traffic to your site then you WILL have to use other social media networks. This includes sites such as Twitter. Do not be on too many though (2 or 3 is suffice). Too many social media sites and you will spread yourself thin. The result is that you will not be able to focus on anything properly. 2. Not Marketing Enough on Your Own Website: It is VITAL that you have social media buttons on your website. This includes links to your social media profiles AND links to allow people to share your content. 3. No SEO: One of the main reasons as to why you want to use social media is for SEO purposes. Surprisingly very few people actually ensure that their social media pages are SEO'ed. If you do not know how to go about this then DO ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. The Effects Of Digital Etiquette In The Digital Age Digital etiquette is a modern variation of the old adage "treat others the way you want to be treated" (Behrens, n.d.) . This is an important yet difficult lesson to teach children in the digital age because they spend less time participating in face–to–face encounters and more time behind a screen. In fact children ages 8–18 spend approximately 7.5 hours using technology and social media (New Research, 2014). What makes this lesson so difficult is the fact that because children spend so much time behind a screen interacting with people, they spend less time reading people's emotions and seeing how their words affect other people. In fact, many adults struggle to come to this realization as well. Based on my own personal experience on social media, many adults still react to situations they come across online emotionally and do not necessarily think about what they are posting and how their words affect the people that are reading them. This is evident with the amount of arguments that occur mostly in the comment section on social media. In fact, social media is an excellent source of poor digital etiquette with all of the fights, swearing, and belittling of others that occurs on these platforms (Digital Etiquette, 2008). This is largely because of the misinterpretations that can happen when communicating digitally verses communicating face to face. It is difficult to interpret the context from which someone is speaking. It is essential that adults slow down with their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Social Media Has An Inopportune Impact On Society Technology has been improving yearly and has now become part of many people's life. Humans have become dependent on technology for many things like to communicate, to learn, to create things, to advertise, the list is endless. Access to the internet has become easier even in underdeveloped countries. This means that almost anyone can post, share, comment, and do many different functions that social media allows to do. Considering that technology is easy to access and that people depend on it, it is almost impossible to not have a controversial conversation over it. Some people believe that posting on social media has an inopportune impact on society. However, there are a lot of positive impacts social media has on society. Social media bring people together and helps society in a lot of ways. Posting to social media comes with responsibilities since what is posted could not be taken lightly by someone else however, there should be no fear in posting since the freedom to do so is there for the taking and can benefit in many ways. First and foremost, social media was made to share ideas. In order to share ideas a way for things to be published and seen by others had to be created. Social media is defined as "the ability to use the internet to share and communicate instantly with others" (historycooperative.org). The developers of social media applications such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and many more, found a way to make this possible. In Facebook and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Social Media Reflection Social media is a medium in which people post about whatever they deem necessary. According to Sherry Turkle's book Alone Together, a vast majority of teens also use it to create a name for themselves and to pretend to be someone else; someone they want to be. However, in analyzing my social media, it was very difficult to find any trace of what kind of character I was attempting to portray. One similarity that I can see between Turkle's analysis of social media and my personal account is that my account does portray a type of person that I aspire to be. Online, I am in some unconscious way making a name for myself, but the problem arises when there are no differences between my social media self and my real self. Online I portray myself as a chill, relaxed person and my Facebook reflects that very well. I am not here to impress anybody and I do not share anything for any other reason besides the fact that I enjoyed that thing. I post when I feel I need to yet looking deeper into my likes and shares there are some small, significant patterns between what I like and how it affects my image. Analyzing my social media account, I found that I generally use a calm, realistic tone to give the impression that I am a real relaxed, dust–in–the–wind kind of guy. I don't care to change my profile picture and haven't changed it since 8th grade. Even most of what I like and/or share has no specific agenda, it's just simply what I find interesting or funny. On top of that, I haven't even shared anything in about ten months and the only things I like are things that my family shares with me or tags me in. I have not physically posted an update of my life or anything in five years only because I don't feel the need to. For example, the last text post that I made was on my birthday in 2013, when I thanked everyone who wished me a happy birthday. Even reading through my "recent" shares, I've come to realize that I do not intend to portray myself in any different way other than what I am. The last thing that I shared was a video of a cat I thought my sister would find amusing (which she did). On Facebook, I give off the impression that I am a very laid–back person and that is truly how I act. Just looking at my activity, it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Should College Athletes Have Unrestricted Freedom 1. Should athletes have unrestricted freedom of speech on social media sites? Why or why not? I do not believe that athletes should have unrestricted freedom of speech on social media. I understand that as an 18 – 22–year–old, you are considered an adult. You can make your own decisions on what you would want to post or not post. However, these students are now not only representing themselves, but also the university and their basketball program. If a student athlete posts something like Buck Burnette did on Facebook about President Obama, the repercussions are headed to the university as well as the student. Although they are adults, college students are not as matured yet so keeping some restriction is understandable. Also, it could help ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What ethical duties should college athletes think about while they are using social media? Are these different from the ethical ways non–athletes should use social media? Would you be able to write (and justify) an "Athlete's Code of Ethics" for Tweeting or using Facebook? As a college athlete, there are definitely ethical duties that must be held regarding social media that non– athletes do not have to follow by. As a student athlete, you are being watched by so many people, and you are a key representative for the university and the city you are in. The children, adults, and possible future recruits are following these college athletes on social media and are role models for these individuals. As a college athlete you are under a microscope and it is their responsibility to make sure not to do anything inappropriate. As a non–athlete, you do not have those responsibilities as well as not have the responsibilities with representing the program or university, stated in previous questions. Ethical duties should still be there for non–athletes, but the consequences are worse for all parties when an athlete does something ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Effects Of Social Media Essay Social media has changed over the last thirty years and its affected us in many ways. Social media, along with any other internet source, is used for lots of different things and it has impacted our lives drastically. Social media is harmful for us because it changes who we are, influences us negatively, and may cause mental pain and to some extent physical pain too. Everyone in the world today is using social media for one thing...entertainment. We all see a bunch of post about what people are doing to make their lives fun. So, in our right minds we think since someone else is doing it and seems to be having a good time then it must be cool and we must try it out also. Seeing ads, post, or comments changes who we are slowly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Teens will see this most often than any other age group there is. A NEWSELA article states that too much use of social media can lead to anxiety, depression and decreased relationship skills. Also that a study found social media can be more addictive than cigarettes and alcohol for some people. Another study by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health found that depression had increased dramatically among teens, particularly among girls. The authors believe cyberbullying may be playing a role. When someone says they are being mentally affected by social media then we would think they are being cyberbullied and we try to help them; but if they said they were being physically affected by social media what does that really mean? "Teenagers are already self–conscious and easily affected by what others say," said Dr. Pate. When kids are already self–conscious about themselves then obviously cyberbullying is not helping them much either. There are kids online who like to find reasons to just make people feel bad about themselves. When someone is being bullied online they are affected in thousands of ways. Teenagers will go past the point of bullying someone online to make the victim hurt themselves. When a child is being hurt so bad to make them to this to themselves then the problem needs to be handled as soon as possible. Dr. Johnson said social ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Today, Instagram has more than 300 million active Instagram users across the world. And this is what actually makes Instagram much more active than the digital marketing beloved, Pinterest. Social Media And Its Impact On Society For many of us, social media has become an important way to keep up with what is going on with our families as well as what is happening in the world around us. In the past ten years, social media has also become a major staple in marketing for businesses because there has been a whirlwind of development. In 2006, Facebook was opened to the public and Twitter was launched. Not long after, Facebook surpassed MySpace's user count and Barack Obama became out first "Social Media" President. In 2010, Twitter launched the ability to post sponsored tweets, with Instagram following in 2013. We often view social media as just a place to do social networking, but for businesses it is a much different animal. Facebook became an avenue for new user engagement tactics by companies looking to expand their customer base. (What We Learned About Marketing in the Last Decade of Social Media Evolution", n.d) Marketing is key to any business's success. With the greater use of mobile technology (cell phones and tablets), businesses had to be able to adapt their advertising to display on mobile devices. While anyone can use social media in relation to their business, there is a certain protocol that should be followed. Businesses should not limit themselves to posting promotional content only. This can lead to the downfall of their social media presence. Consumers want engagement that goes beyond promotional information. Disadvantages Of Social Media Social media is basically applicable internet apps that allow users to create their own media and interact with others while online. It takes many ways of media to use social media. For instance, Snapchat uses filters to make a picture something different. Facebook provides boards on which users post videos, photos, and websites. YouTube allows people to upload videos of their own on their own online pages. Facebook also has Messenger, a place where Facebook users can message each other freely. This is not always a good things. It sometimes makes it easier for cyberbullying and mean posts. 2. Some of the most popular social media platforms at the time are Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram. Many people go online at least one of these platforms at least 1–2 times a day, just to post or check in on friends. Some use social media to hide behind when they post mean things. They would never say it to the person in real lifee but social media gives them a strange kind of bravery. 81% of the USA is online and using social media daily or weekly according to a statistic chart of American users. There are almost 1.96 billion users worldwide so about 1/7 of the world is online and posting every day. 3. The average age restriction for most social media platforms is around 15. For Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, Snapchat, and Tumblr, the age restriction is 13. For Yik Yak, Vine, and Tinder, you have to be 17. YouTube says 17 but many younger kids get online using their parents' permission. 52% of kids have ignored the age restriction and found a way to get on social media platforms like Facebook even if they are under the age limit. Age limits are often there for your safety though. In 1998, a law was passed to protect kids on the internet who were under 13. Websites had to ask permission of the parents before asking for personal information. Online stores were not allowed to gain addresses from anyone under 13. But children sometimes put in fake birthdates to make it seem as if they were older to gain more from the internet, such as game cheat codes and cool toys. Now kids are not always as safe on the internet as they used to be. 4. One positive of social media is that it can be used as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The artifact to analyze is presented as follows: "Hi! This is a very interesting topic, as I have used telehealth many times. As an educator for rural cancer centres, I do not have the ability to meet with the staff face–to–face, so telehealth is often used. I have found it can be more difficult to engage others in telehealth occasionally. With FTF interactions, people are more willing to respond to questions. I have been trying to start out by saying I acknowledge it is more difficult for some with telehealth, but I highly value everyone's thoughts. I warn them that I will be asking many questions, and if I don't have any answers, I will call on each of them, and to keep the remote in their hands to unmute. I don't know if it is the group I have in orientation now, or the change in my opening, but I have found much more participation than in past sessions. I haven't personally used it for patient care, but many of my navigators have, and there is one team in CancerControl who is thriving with the use of telehealth. Our pain and symptom clinic is based in Edmonton, and they assist patients with many symptoms and palliation. They have a virtual clinic, where they use telehealth to provide this service to patients who are unable to go to Edmonton, and it has been so valuable for so many patients. This post shows that you understand the material and can synthesize the information well. I will caution against something like "the Seated Scribe was royal" as this might be a bit of a stretch. He would most certainly be part of the government working under the king or visar of Egypt, but be a scribe would not be a typical job for a royal. There could be many reasons he was shown in this position. Also, given that there is a lot more information to confirm he was indeed a script and, therefore, an important part of the government over being a royal. • 16. Argumentative Essay On Social Media In this age of social media, we are constantly worried about being popular. We are driven by "likes," "comments," and "followers." Not caring what our peers thought, our middle school selves posted anything and everything. Now, as seniors and having had access to social media for an abundance of years, we are far more cautious about what we post but not in the way you might imagine. Instagram is a resourceful tool but, if used incorrectly, could impair your social status. Unlike in middle school, we do not want to post too frequently, too many similar pictures, or too long of a caption. Those who post everyday get a diminishing amount of likes. The unwritten rules to instagram are simple: once a day, once day a week, and at least once a month. Occasionally, these rules are allowed to be broken. A couple times a year, posting two days in a row is permitted, but only in dire circumstances should multiple posts be uploaded in a single day, and now, with multiple photos per post capabilities, the acceptance for this is even less. Uploading several posts of pictures taken on the same day and at the same event becomes repetitive. Putting those pictures in the same post will fix this problem. Adding a caption to the picture also help make your posts different. Followers will often skip over a caption that is too long and disregard a post with no caption at all, but will love a one word to two sentence caption. This task of regulating and ensuring the sustainability of the regime of accumulation is the mode of social and political regulation. The regime of accumulation under Fordism relied on the link between mass production and mass consumption. In order to fuel the cycle of economic activity, wages had to be sufficiently high to support mass consumption. This mass consumption drove demand and productive activity for firms, which were afforded profits used to reinvest in productive ventures. This virtuous cycle of cumulative economic activity was thought to perpetuate itself indefinitely once full employment was realized. Named after American industrialist Henry Ford, Fordism is essentially a modern socio–economic system designed on the bases of industrial mass production in the 20th century. There are many aspects of Fordism in terms of its social and economic organisation, such as the relation to production line techniques, the nature and pattern of consumption, and overall state regulation. And thirdly, rather than having machinery at the centre of the factory and workers moving to and from the product, assembly lines were used. This meant that the workers remained stationary and the product simply flowed past them (Murray, 1989). They were essentially treated as robots and dictated by machines; operating to the duplicated, repetitive tasks daily and not given the opportunity to express potential for advancement or improvement. This wave of protest led to the establishment of a new type of management, which was believed to help workers integrate into the capitalist system, known as Post–Fordism (Dicken, 2003). Beginning in the late 20th century, Post–Fordism is characterised by any different attributes, such as smaller batched production, specialized products and jobs, new–age technologies, the rise of service and feminization in the work force, and the emphasis on consumer niche markets, as opposed to simply considering social class (Allen, 1992). As seen with the Nike "equality campaign" commercial, Nike is calling for those who buy their products to almost break through the current social boundaries and to move "past these lines." The quote of moving "past these lines" aids in furthering the post–Fordist concept of uniqueness as it almost encourages one to think outside the box and to be different by going against societal limitations and norms while in hopes of striving for equality; it gives a sense of inspiration to those who witness the commercial. Nike is commanding for not only their consumer base, but all those who view this ad to be active in fighting for equality for all races and other minority groups. Nike believes this idea starts with "you," and not by those who are atop the social hierarchy like those in governmental positions; taking a bottom to top approach. Introduction Getting backlash from your social media usage is a scare for a lot of people in this age of technology. Whether you run your company's social media or not, having to make sure you follow the proper guidelines of not posting prejudice or racist comments, not sharing confidential information and stay away from any idiotic or rude comments while you are on the job. Prejudice / Racism Posting racist, sexist, or offensive comments could make other people see the company that the person works for in a different light and cost them their business. A business wants to bring in a target audience. This could include all nationalities, sexes, religions, or handicapped people. Posting offensive content that might possibly be targeted toward anyone is not good for you or the company and should be avoided at all costs. • 34. Social Media And Its Effect On Society Technology is rapidly advancing, and in today's day in age, social media is integrated into the majority of people's everyday lives. Individuals should take into consideration their professional persona when it comes to social media, due to the fact that it will be beneficial for them and any future companies they are involved with. Take for example the incident that occurred over Twitter with American Red Cross. The company recently tweeted out an inappropriate tweet saying, "Ryan found two more four bottle packs of Dogfish Head's Midas Touch beer... when we drink we do it right #gettingslizzard." (Huffington Post 2011). Now instead of dealing with the backlash and negativity that emerged from the tweet, the company was thankfully able to turn it around and even launched a blood for beer campaign that gave beer to people who donated blood. Not all companies are able to turn around and save their reputation like American Red Cross however, and it is important to make sure what you post on the internet will not get you in hot water. Taking into account that technology is forever, and once something is posted, it is out there. People think that they are safe and have the ability to simply delete any data that can hurt their reputation, but it is never really gone. In order to prevent any future conflicts, it is best if people really think about and make the right decision on if what they are posting online is necessary or appropriate. • 35. Is The Robbery Occurred? Essay In the beginning of October, reality star Kim Kardashian was held hostage in her Paris hotel room and robbed of most of her jewelry and valuables. Prior to the horrible incident, she posted many different things on social media that the robbers probably used to their advantage. On Snapchat, she flashed her multi– million dollar jewelry on the camera, exposed to millions of her followers. Right before the robbery happened, viewers were aware that she was alone in her hotel room when she posted a video of her congratulating her younger brother through iPhone Facetime. According to CNN, the police has suggested that Kardashian's prolific social posting about her life and wealth may have attracted the robbers in the multi–million dollar heist. Even though there are many other possibilities as to why the robbery occurred, it is still a valid example of why you should be more reserved on what you post on your social media platforms. Since the popularity of having multiple social media accounts has increased, it is crucial that we are more aware of what we post on social media. Since people are widely using social networks to display a lot of their personal information and give access to potential bullies, future jobs/colleges, or even potential criminals, precautions and social awareness as well as media moderation should be constructed so we can take away the harmful stigmas surrounding its use. Social media usage can lead to harassment and bullying. When you join a social media ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It's something that is always changing as you meet new people, move to new places, or simply could just change out of the blue. In the article "I'm a Social (network) Drinker: Alcohol– Related Facebook Posts, Drinking Identity, and Alcohol Use, the authors looked at the associations between social media and alcohol use and how they affect our identity. Because we are all human,we are all trying to be accepted by society, which causes people to shape their identities to the certain situation. Drinking identity is a concept that I was rather unfamiliar with until this article. It is defined in this study as " a component of identity that is associated with heavier drinking and more negative alcohol– related consequences"(107). Drinking identity is basically how alcohol affects your way of living. Everyone's drinking identities are different because it is based on how much we drink, what we drink, how often, etc. Drinking identity is used in this study to determine if people with higher drinking identities post more on social media, or are more open with their drinking, whereas people with lower drinking identities would post less. The authors started this study off by getting access to 109 undergraduate students, dominantly female, who were all pulled from their psychology class and offered credit for doing this experiment. • 37. Our Social Lives Remo Analysis When Did Lives on Social Media Become More Time–Consuming than Our Social Lives by Jessica Remo argues that what people post social media is not portraying the truth to their daily lives. Social media allows the individual to post a picture, video, status, and edit these to make it seem like their lives are better than others. "Social media allows the user to create their own TV channel and make their lives seem better than they really are," (Remo). In addition to portraying a fake live, these posts have negative impacts on the viewers. With 92 percent of those between 18 and 29, and 73 percent of people in their 30's and 40's using social media, this gives each individual the ability to control their image, and people's impression of them. ... Remo irritates that social media is destroying real connections between people and results in self– esteem loss based upon other people's posts. With the information provided, along with the diction Jessica Remo uses, it clearly demonstrates that she is opposed to social media, and believes that social media has negatives effects on others and that people only post what they want others to see.
