1. July 2011 Newsletter
I hope you all had a great Fourth of July! The summer again is flying by, and we enjoyed discussing the Fourth of
July with your child and sharing flags with the residents during our parade. We look forward to this month and
adding to our enrollment for the fall. We have had two families enroll from word-of-mouth from our parents this
month. Thank you for helping us spread the word of our quality program among other parents in our community!
This month we have some fun field trips planned and look forward to enjoying some water activities outside. So
please make sure your child has extra clothes here at Kendal so they can share in the fun. ~ Jeni Hoover, Director

2. Toddlers & Young 3’s News:
We have had a really great month in our classroom. The children
have loved the songs and finger plays that Robin has brought into the
classroom and the wide variety of activities we have been planning.
Mason has joined our classroom this month and is going to be
turning two in October. He is a great addition to our classroom and has
really adjusted well to our center.
Sebastian and Maddie have started their potty training! Miracle
and Nadia have made strides in their fine motor and cognitive skills as they
participated in grid games we made. Lucia and Savannah also worked on
improving their fine motor skills as they assisted Jean and Mary Jane with
puzzles. Noah has shown improvement in his language/communication
skills and loves to use his gross motor skills when he plays catch with the
residents.
Have a great month,
Jeni, Julie & Robin
Preschool News:
July is “Fun in the Sun” month. July has been very busy so far, and we
are only in the second week! The children loved celebrating the Fourth of July in
the classroom, having a parade for the residents, wearing the shirts they made,
and passing out flags to their resident friends. Many of the children can now tell
you how many stars and stripes are on the American flag. The children also
participated in Fun Fitness Week with the residents. They were fine bowlers and
were said to be the stars of the basketball event by one resident. We also
participated in the community walk but didn’t make it all the way around the
perimeter due to the rain. The rest of July we are focusing on the ocean. The
children are having a blast learning about the different sea creatures and fish that
live in the ocean. They work together as a team, and they made a box ocean and
really enjoy playing with it. Our Pre-K swimmers are having a blast and are
learning to be quite the swimmers. Almost all of my friends are exploring the pool
without the help of an adult. And they really enjoy making a train with the pool
noodles.
We have a field trip planned to the Lake Erie Nature and Science Center to
see the aquariums and learn a little more about fish.
Have a great month!
Sara and Karen
