Culture-basedEducation is somethingnew to me asI usedit in my actualclassroom
teaching, for 9 years I have been used to the traditional teaching method which
was precisely different from how GDCE introduces the way of teaching lessons
which areculture-based.The application of a culture-basedlesson in theclassroom
has created a modification in the atmosphere of the learning environment. And
students even seem to be more appreciated and interactive when it comes to the
teaching-learning process in such manner. Glad that GDCE has change the way
teaching has been. Forit notonly teaches lessonsto read and write,dance andsing,
butrather it teaches lessonswhichare based on the students’wayof life werethey
could relate and learn the lesson effortlessly. It has slowly shaped and developed
every individual in the classroom the sense of patriotism that leads students to
become proud of, not only because they’ve learned but because they know they
aresomebodywho’suniquebecausethey areFilipinos. Althoughthe transition was
never that easy especially to teachers like me, somehow I believe that it’s
something worth the effort of starting slowly than never to have known how it’s
doneand never to havedonesomething forthe benefit of every Filipino who needs
to change the way they used to learn to something that never had been but
rightfully to have been done a long time ago.
